Middle East Peace Plan - The Latest

Fox News Radio's Jonathan Savage joins us to discuss the latest as peace negotiations continue between Israel and Hamas.

Well, let's check in with the latest as peace talks underway,
this time in Cairo. This is the US broker deal
on the story this morning with Box News Radio in London.
Jonathan Savage, Thanks for joining us today.

Hello, good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
So where do we stand on this thing? We've heard
a lot from Israel and from President Trump, not so
much from Hamas. Are they there?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, taking part in talks in Cairo and also in
Charmel Shak technical talks in Cairo and then sort of
bigger picture talks with their key mediators in charm the
coastal Egyptian resort city, along with elected Steve Whitkopf and
Jared Kushner representing the US, Israel sitting a delegation in
the Qautaris and Egypt to US mediators. AMAS has so

far agreed to some of the points of President Trump's
twenty points. They've agreed to release all the hostages alive
and dead that they have in Gaza, and they've agreed
that the governor of Gaza day to day can be
carried out by the Committee of Palestinian Technocrats. What they
haven't responded to directly are very very key points that

Israel will insist on such as her mask disarming, laying
down its arms. That's crucial for Israel. They also haven't
confirmed that they're willing to play no future role whatsoever
in Gaza's governance. So harmass having no political role, a
mass having no military role. I think a lot of
people would wonder what the point of her mass is,

and I think Israel would say, that's exactly the point.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
The president of the weekend was sort of tipping his
hand that we may have some sort of announcement imminently.
If such a thing would happen, will we see hostages quickly?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
It's possible we could see hostages by the end of
this week. That's what President Trump was suggesting, that Phase
one could happen, the release of hostages and the release
of Palestinian prisoners in exchange. It may not be all
that to organize. I mean, some of the problems that
her Master pointed to is that some of the bodies

of hostages are buried under rubble, and in order to
return those to Israel, that we need to manage to
locate them. So a horrible situation there, but one which
I think is is likely to be reflected in reality
and reflected in this king perhaps a little bit more
time than they would.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Hope anything about what happens in Gaza after this thing.
My gosh, Jonathan, the pictures that you see what's left.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah, yeah, the rebuilding of Gaza is a decade long job.
We remember President Trump, he used to talk about the
idea of a Middle East Riviera, Palestinians leaving Gaza and
the whole place to Redevelopable's not talking about that so
much anymore. The new plan and would allow Palestinians to
stay in Gaza if they wish, And I think changing that,

(02:52):
not expelling, expelling Palestinians from their homeland, has brought some
of the Middle Eastern countries on board. So they'd have
this inter administration technic crafts doing day to day affairs,
and then there'll be an international governance of the territory
with the likes of President Trump and people like the
former British Prime Minister Tony Blair overseeing that.
