Speaker 1 (00:00):
And this is West Michigan's Morning News. Steen, Kelly Ripped, Kata,
Laurence Smith, Adam a road show. There are some people
that get all fired up about celebrating their birthday, and.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
That includes you me.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
It is Thursday to seven eleven, twenty twenty five Top
five times Schmidty.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Where do we start?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Well?

Speaker 4 (00:18):
At number five, a wandering piglet was found in Saginaw
Township by a residence shoveling snow yesterday.

Speaker 5 (00:29):
I've had dogs, cats, never hit a pig ring.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
We got itable, a ginger colored pig now hanging out
at the police department in Saginaw, resting eating animal crackers,
which they say is now his most favorite thing. Police
believe that she's a lost pet and are working to
find her owner. It's been shared thousands of times now,
and they're like, listen, just let us know, because otherwise
this piglet's just becoming our mascot.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, thing can pick her up and he she w.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
She very very cute. I don't know what the name is.
I'm not sure if she was collared or not.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I didn't see a caller in the picture. At number
four on the list, here we go again with Waimo
taxis making headlines. A couple of negative stories, like the
one where police are trying to give it a ticket
and realized there wasn't a driver in it, and then
there was the armed standoff. Now this week, a mother

(01:25):
on her way to the University of California San Francisco
Medical Center had a baby inside one. I don't know
what you know about having a baby, but it seems
to me like I wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Call a driver this car.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
No, but sure, as the day is long, it's now
happened to a woman in California. She was really coming
and she called the Waimo jumped in.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Oh wow, nope, I don't speak ill of anything.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
It's surprising sometimes.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, you think you've got time. Yeah, but you had
a driver for your second baby. Well, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Maybe you're someone who does wants your bits and pieces seen.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Everybody's happy and healthy, and the car delivered her right
to where she was.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yes, wow, with the baby. There's an advertisement.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
It was just gonna say, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
How about that for a promo.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
Speaking of promo, the promotions for Major League Baseball and
the signings of free agent are always fun this time
of year, and the Baltimore Orioles got a big fish yesterday.
Coming off an incredibly disappointing season last year seventy five
and eighty seven, after they were ninety one and seventy
one in twenty twenty four, they.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Needed a big bat in the middle of the lineup.
Well they got it.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
The Orioles making a statement as they agree to a
deal with First Basement from the New York Mets.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Pete Alonzo.

Speaker 6 (02:44):
That's right, He's going to Baltimore five years, one hundred
and fifty five million dollars deal. This guy is a
big batt He smashed thirty eight home runs, he led
the National League in doubles with forty.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
One and now the Al East.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
You want to talk about some sluggers, they've got at
Pete Lonzo to the mix for Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Wow, at number two on the list. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Thirty three year old hiker was rescued after spending hours
trap knee deep in quicksand at Utah's Arches National Park.
He didn't return from his twenty mile trips, so his
friends called search and rescue. They fired up a drone,
sent it into the park and were able to find him.
He had been there for hours in twenty one degree temperatures,
and this could have gone pretty sideways if it weren't

(03:25):
for that drone.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
As a kid watching television, I thought there would be
more quicksand in the world.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
As an adult, I still think it's everywhere.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yeah, it was on all It was.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Always hipsand quicksand and tornadoes.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
The Gilligan's is remember just the hat was there and
Skipper thought he was gone.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
We were so sad.

Speaker 6 (03:44):
And you just wonder where that line is, where it ends,
where it's not the quicksand.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, uh finally number one of
the lists.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I don't know if you get involved in a Christmas
cookie exchange, but members of a Pittsburgh area Facebook page
organized a world record that involved the baking of eighty
three thousand, four hundred and twenty seven cookies.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
So you know, you had everything decorated like snowballs and
Santa Claus and reindeer, just a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
They displayed them all on tables and actually did the exchange.
So I'm not sure how many people used the little
gold bebie things. I guess they have silver ones too
that knock out your fillings.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, either way, you are so fun. I'm just against those.
Wow oh I am too. Wanted to give you just
the little buyers. Beware, what's the bite of steely
