Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is West Michigan's Morning News, Steve Kelly, Brett Kata,
Laurence Smith, Adam A Road Show Tuesday, December second, twenty
twenty five and Top five times Schmitty.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Where do we start?

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Well at number five. If we want to see more
driverless cars, We're going to see more of this. A
Waimo took a left turn right into the middle of
a police standoff.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Oh yep.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Viral video has been spreading showing a driverless ride in
LA taking a left turn down town right into the
middle of literal crossfire with passengers inside. Oh golly, yeah,
the wavemo goes right past a man on the ground
who is being held up by police officers.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Oh my god, Oh my god, what's WEAMO doing?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Oh yeah, jeez.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
You'll also hear an LAPD helicopter above shining a spotlight
as the way mos just going through. According to a
rep for the company, the vehicle cleared the scene in
a matter of seconds and the passengers made it safely
to their destination.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Sure, but uh, you know what you want to see
all of LA? There you go? Does the app tell
you to duck? I mean yeah, terrifying?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, you're gonna want to wear some chain mail or something.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Speaking of something from your youth that will leave a mark.
A group of twenty four athletes played dodgeball for forty
eight hours in England to break a Guinness World record
and raise money for charity.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Here they are at the end of the thing.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
You imagine after forty eight hours in the European standard
for deodorant.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
All I'm saying and no ac. Unfortunately I tried to
get sound effects.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
They used a different kind of ball of Great Britain,
of course, and I'm sure added a you to the
word like they do in color, hopefully softer. Just so
you know, I did find the actual sound of a.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Volleyball. Who doesn't remember that hitting your writing up? Oh
the face?

Speaker 5 (01:52):
So they didn't use voight, then it's not really officially dodgeball, exactly.
You got to get that smack of the rubber and
then you know the logo right in your forehead.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Hey, college football has seen now Lane Kiffin go to
LSU officially leaving old miss mshu's got their guy, Pat Fitzgerald.
That was announced.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
What about Penn State?

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Remember way back when James Franklin got let go. He's
already got a new gig at Virginia Tech. Well, the
coaching search has gone kind of quiet in the last
few weeks and now the focus seems to be on
BYU head coach Kalani Sataki, and he has done a
great job with BYU transitioning to the Big Twelve. He
is an alum of the Cougars, went on and played

(02:35):
in the NFL. But he's got him an eleven to
one this year at number eleven in the country in
the College Football Playoff rankings. They will take on number
five Texas Tech though in the Big Twelve Championship game
on Saturday. If they win that game, they'll get the
automatic bid to be in the College Football Playoff as the.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Big Twelve champs.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Yet, he's not denying that conversations have gone on the
problem I would be concerned about. He's never coached east
of the Mountain time zone. He was an assistant coach
at BYU, Oregon State, Utah, Southern Utah, and Eastern Arizona
before becoming head coach at BYU.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Well, that'll be interesting to see how he handles that exactly.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
At number two, a sky dining attraction in India malfunctioned
over the weekend. You know, one of those things where
they strap you in and raise you up into the
air to have dinner. Not interested stranding a family of
twenty one hundred and twenty feet up in the air.
The crane just completely stopped working. Firefighters had to individually
harness each one of the diners and lower them to

(03:33):
the ground using a rope to get them all down.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Wow, I don't care anything about the ride a twenty
member family. What do you do for a living that
you could even have tempt them amusement park.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Maybe they figured they got them all up in the
air like that they wouldn't fight or something.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
You know, Oh, I was going Survival of the Fittest.
I guess that was a much darker way of looking.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
At good point.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
I was picturing with the ropes easy, easy, That never
works out well.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Honestly, And Billy, take your time. This is the biggest
break I've known.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I' concerned about trying to stop him. Finally, twenty a
number one on the lists.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
A California man changing the batteries on a camera he
set up to monitor a black bear in his crawl space.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Found so I had to go around and change the batteries.
So I went around there and I just glanced at
the hole from standing up, and I heard his horrible growl,
like oh the hiss.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Wo, and I just ran.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
They estimated about a five hundred pound black bear found
a way to stuff its little self into a crawl
space in this guy's house, and he hasn't found an
organization to help remove it yet.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
So it's still there.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I don't know how you sleep at night, but the
idea that it somehow comes through the floorboards, yeah, could
be a little unsettling. Ken Johnson's sixty three. He thinks
he's called everybody. We'll keep you posted. That is today's

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
