Speaker 1 (00:00):
And this is West Michigan's Morning News. Steve Kelly, Brent Makata,
Lawrence Smith. That'm aro scho it is Wednesday, Just Sam third,
twenty twenty five and Top five Times Smitty.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Where do we start?

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Well?

Speaker 4 (00:10):
At number five? We know by now the really cute
bell ringers we see around this time of year thanks
to the Salvation Army the Red Kettle campaign. But have
you ever seen a bell ringing goat?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
No? You have now. He was only like eight months
old and that was his first job. Sometimes when I
ring the bell.

Speaker 5 (00:30):
He gets jealous.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
He's a good bell ringer. He's better than I am.
Oh my gosh, he is so cute.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
This is a three year old goat named Pongo that
marks at Southern Colorado and has been ringing bells for
the Salvation Army since twenty twenty three and has brought
in thousands of dollars because everyone wants to see. If
you've never seen a goat in a Santa Hat, I'll
get the video up.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Has he eaten?

Speaker 4 (00:55):
And I was gonna say, he's very specific. He understands
his response disability.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Pongo, Pongo, I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Stick with animals on the Top five Today, is. A
bear was in danger of electrocution on a utility pole
in Arizona. He was rescued by a ligneman who went
up in his bucket truck and started poking the bear.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Have you seen the.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Video of do what I did yesterday at the end
of the show.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
It was hilarious for some onlookers.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Listen carefully until the bear jumped off the pole and
ran for them.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So listen carefully, awkward laughter, first scream. There you go.
So there's a dog that.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
They have in the truck with them, and they think
the whole idea is pretty cute until the bear makes
that four legged run toward them.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
You realize how fast they are on land.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Jumps in another pole, but this one's not electrocuted, so
the bear's going to be okay.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
It's like the people that get out in like Colorado
and South Dakota and stuff to pet the buffalo.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
For the buffalo really time, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
You see how big those things are? Wait, did you
notice the defence is when you jovid no, because they're wild.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
The real teeth on the cougar too.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Steve calls that natural selection.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I believe Darwin awards every year at number three. What
a week for the Grand Rapids. Griffins deservely so with
the start they've had.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
And I'm going to give a salute to goaltender Sebastian
Cosa again because remember yesterday I told you he was
the player of the week. Well he just got named
the AHL Goaltender of the Month in November. And the
reason I bring this up you might want to go
catch a Griffin's game because who knows how long it's
going to be before he goes up to the parent club.
With their struggles in net, this guy was five and

(02:39):
one in the month of November, just the fourth netminder
in franchise history to win the AHL Goltender of the
Month award, with names like Jared Carrow and Jimmy Howard
who had a pretty good career with the Red Wings.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
So make sure you check out. He's eight to one
on the season. The youngster.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
We've had him on the power Play before multiple times.
Sebastian Cosa at number two.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
In Virginia, a Rack Koon was found unconscious and the
bathroom of a convenience store. When animal control arrived, they
realized he had ransacked through the alcohol department of this
convenience store, broken bottles everywhere, and then the raccoon just
passed out right next to the toilet.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
In the battle. It is the holiday season. They took
him back.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
To the shelter to sober up before they released him
back into the wild.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
You know, the stress of being a raccoon.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
I mean, seriously, you probably got to hit the modolo.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
He's been going a little trash panda for the last.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Time, you know. And who knows how many he's got
to provide for, right, And we've all been there too.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Sometimes the side of the toilet is nice and cool, some.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
More recently than others, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Finally at number one on the list.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Speaking of the bowl, oh boy, and our live broadcast
a little later on today, don't get any ideas if
you head into Engle's Jewelry Company between noon and two
for our live broadcast today. Thirty two year old man
who's not been publicly named is accused of eating an
ornate fabrige octopus at Partridge Jewelers in Auckland on November

(04:03):
twenty eighth.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Well, they arrested him was what and we're waiting.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Oh yeah, apparently world there has been an officer assigned
to this guy in jail.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Talk about lowest rung. Wow, but a war he gets
to keep that? Listen, No, I think he thought.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Get to keep it. I'm standing guard.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, you don't get to keep anything that you have.
Something like that just hammered it.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Oh my god, I thought they were bigger. I'll show
you and then just like that.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Dude, how about like a coat pocket or you know,
something like that if you really want to steal it.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
He's a guy aside.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Better idea. That's today's top five. Think of that next
time you take a sip of coffee. No,

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
