Speaker 1 (00:00):
And this is West Michigan's morning news.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
I see Adam a road show and Lawrence Smith and
Brett Pakita, and I am Steve Kelly. Now that's Monday,
March seventeenth, twenty twenty four. That makes it Saint Patrick's day. Woops,
it's twenty twenty five. Hey, that's the first time I
did it. You got a good job, thanks, Man SCHMITTI
where do we start today's top five?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (00:20):
Number five. This was kind of a shock to most
health staff in Sheboygan. They went into the Pine River
Motel room and found an alligator?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
What right?

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Sheboyganboygan, Michigan found an alligator? Whoa A video was sent
into up North Live showing the gator chilling under one
of the tables in a room at Pine River Motel.
The Sheboygan Police Department says staff found Wally on Friday
afternoon while cleaning the room after someone had checked out.
They discovered Wally's owner had been in town conducting assemblies

(00:54):
with elementary school kids and actually had several exotic animals
with him. The owner discovered while he was missing, but
didn't know when or where the alligator escaped. Luckilysha boy
you can please were able to reunite the two.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I remember Steve Kelly specifically multiple times saying that that
would not happen in a pure a Michigan.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Moment, right boy, Wally would say differently.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
With a lot of animals to report a number four
in the list. Virginia Zoo responded to rumors of an
escaped gorilla in Norfolk by saying, we don't have any gorillas.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
What the story?

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Right there?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Social media lit up with reports of a gorilla on
the loose following a power outage Tuesday night at the
Granbury Street area, and several Facebook users claim to have seen.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
The large primate.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
That's when the zoo squashed the rumors by saying, I
don't know what you're seeing out there, but it didn't
come from the zoo.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
The you know what it is, don't you?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I think maybe and it says here zoo squatch is
what they said later at either somebody pulling a prank
or people just making the story.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
You can deny if you want to, but he's out there.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
I'll just say it.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Or maybe a sheet I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
But we go to Wed.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
For another show. We go to the Breslin Center right now,
championship Saturday for boys high school basketball wrapping up and
this was a Disney type.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Finish for Mark Keeler and try Ley christian.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Osbin of the middle kicks right side roll later for
three finals at home and that brings the Defender fans
to their feet. Oh, that was a big one to
get him some breathing room. Now forty four thirty two.
I don't know who the play by play guy is,
but Colin forty nine thirty two was the final. The
Defenders win it by seventeen. They finished the year at
twenty seven and two. But here's the story. Thirty eight

(02:44):
seasons on the bench as head coach of the varsity
boys basketball team, Mark Keeler announced at the start of
the year it was going to be his last year
and he had never in his time. They've got the
thirteen state finals. He had never won back to back titles.
He did as they win it this year, they won
it last year. And he finishes above five hundred because
he has seven state championship trophies and six state runner

(03:07):
up trophies.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
How cool was that? It's really cool?

Speaker 5 (03:10):
At number two A Marina in Ventura, California, had to
be briefly shut down because a man backed his cyber
truck into the water while trying to launch his jet ski,
accidentally putting it into reverse instead of drive, and officials
did not know how the battery would react to the water,
so they just shut it all down.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Really, it didn't just burst into flames like some of them.
Do you see with the water?

Speaker 5 (03:33):
No, it didn't. And despite and I'm not making this
up Elon Musk saying that it could briefly be a
boat because it is, I guess somewhat floatable, but it
did not to this time around.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
So this one didn't have that feature. Maybe there's a button.
Oh maybe, James Bond, you gotta press the button.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, you want the grease or the thing that shreds
the tires on the other cars. Finally, at number one
of Florida, man left his patio door open for some
fresh Okay, do we needed to stop there? It came
face to face with a gator in his kitchen. I
don't know what it sounds like when you take the
largest creature that shouldn't be in your house out of

(04:12):
your house, but it doesn't sound like this.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
At one point, it gets a hold of.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
A chair, like, let go of the chair, Gator, you're
going out. Paul Quinn said he was checking his email
in Fort Myers when he discovered the alligator. He's broken
through the screen and entered through his open patio door.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Called nine one one.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stopped by. He looked
bored by the way the guy that was yanking the
thing out of there.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I will I'd be calling Gator Boys.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Oh that's a while, so I know that's today's top
five get on TV. Is there a Michigan or there
should be, right, Gator Boys, boy, I can't wait for
the spin off.
