Also trending this morning. What a moment, thank goodness for
a boy Scout on Macinaw Island. You guys seen this story.
Fourteen year old Kenny Recorps learns to be prepared, a
big part of the Scout Honor but never expected to
have to put those lessons in action. It's his second
summer serving in the Scout Honor Guard on Mackinaw Island.
And near the end of one of his three hour
(02:19):
shifts near Fort Mcinaw last week, he was alerted to
a man who had unexpectedly collapsed with a heart attack.
Without even thinking, record jumped into action. He alerted more people,
made sure someone had called nine to one one, and
immediately looked for the AED. He took off, running up
and down the hill despite having exercise induced asthma said.
(02:40):
I could tell that I was in pain, but I
knew this gentleman needed me to find it. An off
duty nurse came running over, who performed CPR until responders came,
and the man's going to be Okay. Wow, a very
lucky tourist, that fourteen year old Kenny was there. It's
pretty unbelievable. His dad said. The Scout motto is to
be prepared, and Kenny was part of that Scout law.
(03:02):
And I'm very.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Proud, Dad saying, eagle scout too. So we passed that
right down.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Induction Sunday yesterday in Cooperstown for the National Baseball Hall
of Fame, and one of the five members that went
in Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki, the first Japanese born player ever
to be enshrined.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Baseball told me, well, it means to be a professional.
And I believe that is the main reason I am
here today, not because my skills are better than others.
Three thousand hits or two hundred and sixty two hits
in one season are achievements recognized by the writers. Well, oh,
(03:43):
but one view.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Wait for it.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
And by the way, the O four for that writer
to have dinner my home has now expired.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
One writer held him off. He was going to be
unanimous in one writer, so he offered to have that
writer to his home to have dinner with him to
explain why he couldn't understand. But that was amazing for
him because he would do a lot of interviews when
he was in the league and playing with an interpreter,
so he worked on his English and everything. And I
(04:25):
thought he did a pretty good job yesterday. And he's
got a great sense of humor.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
That and those are just some of the stories we
are following for you two day
