Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is West Michigan's Morning News. Steve Kelly and Brett
Makita joining us. Back in studio the CEO and President
of the win Quest Group, Greg McNeely. Greg, thanks for
coming in today.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Thanks Steven, Brett, glad to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
We are one week well less a day to the
West Michigan CEO Summit. You're the chair of the event.
Along with being a great business leader here in West Michigan.
The theme is a Resilient Edge. As the chair, talk
to us a little bit about your charge and that
theme and what it means.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Sure, so you know, these are crazy times right now
for business and job providers. We don't know what the
regulations are going to be, how the economy macro micro
is is flexing and flowing, so business leaders have to
be on their toes. I always like to say that
the challenges you have at the end of the week,
you didn't anticipate at the beginning of the week. I mean,
it's that crazy right now. So we want to get

(00:49):
busess leaders together talk about that, energize them, giving them
an opportunity to network, and you know, send them out
to go out win and fight for their companies.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
I've seen some of these events, and I've actually been
and broadcasting from these events down at DeVos Place and stuff.
I love how these are just kind of continuing to
pop up and be throughout the year. But the collaboration
for Grand Rapids in West Michigan to move forward and
thus get on lists as far as the place to
live or these place to raise a family or the

(01:18):
place to start your career are so impressive. And they
really start from these, don't they.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Absolutely, Brett, and you bring up a great point. One
of the things that makes us a great community is
we still get together. Yeah, and we still get together
and we talk about things, and we can't have disagreements,
but we talk about them and we work towards better
and that's why Grand Rapids is still a great community
for a business or a family.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
The event itself is at the JW Marriott this year
seven thirty am to one pm, so you still got
some business time at the end of the day. It
is Tuesday, June tenth. Will give you ticket information in
the podcast section at woodradio dot com. But talk to
us a little bit about outside of your opening remarks,
who we can expect this year and how they relate

(02:01):
to the topic, Well.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Great lineups. We've got leadership from Aquasher from Ross Cam, foods,
from independent bank craft co alcohol if folks are interested
in that. And then of course a Spartan coach, Mark D'Antonio.
So I think he's sort of the highlights as a Spartan.
I've got a little bit of a prejudice there. Super
excited to hear him, and you know he's had tough times, right,
each season is a flux and flow, so it'd be

(02:25):
great to hear his lessons and how they might apply
to building teams in business.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
And don't you see more of that happening, whether it's
sports leading the way towards business or vice versa because
of what we're seeing with Nil on different things. I mean,
the sports landscape is a true business world. So to
have someone like Mark D'Antonio, it's not just well he's
the MSU football coach. I mean they really kind of
do go hand in hand.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Absolutely, so from the beginning of his career to now,
he had to really learn what drove ticket prices right
in season, you know, sellouts and things. So sports has
become less entertainment and more business. I think for the
consumer it's still entertainment, right, but it is a big
business and so his lessons or his perspectives are very
applicable to business.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
And so like with a giant company like wind Quest,
if you mentioned act your share look to you're right, Adam.
I don't know if you can look out the windows
doing a Facebook live right now, that's the that's the
headquarters man. It's right here in West Michigan too.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
So they are a huge national company and they are
headquartered right here in West Michigan. How awesome is that
that we have one of the fastest growing national companies
right here in downtown Grand Rapids. So we're excited about
it again.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
We will get registration information in the podcast section at
wood radio dot com as tickets are going fast. The
chair of the event, CEO and president of the wind
Quest Group, Greg McNeely, thank you so much for coming in.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Thanks for having me
