ladies and gentlemen to talk about weekend events. I give

Well, this is going to be a big one because
officially Friday, I do believe every single school district in
West Michigan is done and on summer break, and you
can tell there is a ton happening this weekend. We're
gonna start with a big happy birthday to our very
own grand Rapids turning one hundred and seventy five. That
is the dodrins By Centennial.

Good. Yes, if you do it in a in authoritative way,
do drins By Centennial. No, I one will think you
got it right or wrong. Sesqua Centennial, I know, I
do know. Wow, Yeah, it ain't that No.

So the big one seventy five is going to be
celebrated at Rosa Parks Circle on Saturday. They're throwing a
huge party, carnival, games, cake, ice cream, live music, and
it's all free. If you want to learn more, Eve

a really good time.

Whoa, this is another one my kids are really excited about.
The Grand Rapids Public Museum is opening Sharks on Saturday.
This is supposed to be an incredible exhibit. It was
actually created by the Australian Museum. So they've got nine
life sized, scientifically accurate models of sharks, over a one

hundred specimens and artifacts. They've got a full like one
eighty immersive experience that talks about everything the history of sharks,
what they do for our environment. My kids are very
into sharks right now. This is a super cool one.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
It's the figurative immersive though right we're not.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Talking about I don't think you find yourself in a jaw.
But I also can't confirm or deny if you're a
thrill seeker. So sharks at the Grand Rapids Public MUSEUMGRPM
dot org. I think this is great for our our
eighties people. See Thomas Howell is coming to the Wealthy
Theater this weekend for a special screening of The Outsiders.

Oh remember that movie? Are you kidding me. Schmidt bought
a ticket, went to the went to the show.

Wait, how's that, Well, it's it's tonight. It's tonight at
eight o'clock. I do believe tickets are still available. A
big weekend up in my neck of the woods. It
is Rockford's start of summer Celebrah.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yes, it is so.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
The carnival is being set up as we speak.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Are they walling off the downtown again? They do a
great job to.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
You, It's really cool. My kids were most excited because
the giant inflatable duck went up this week. So yeah,
we drive by every time to make sure that the
duck is still there. Carnival games awesome, there's bloody Mary's
Bingo Rotary Club puts the whole thing on.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I just want to know if the zipper is a
part of the carnival.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
The gravitron is though. And my best friend lost her
lunch last year. Oh so hey, we don't mess around
up there.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
No, it's a lot of fun. Minute. We're not talking
about a sack lunch here. We're talking about she went
on the gravity, my friend Megan and threw up.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yes, she tried to.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Be cool for one get on as an adult.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
She's little in fet she thought she could handle it.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, oh that burned your world upside now on that one.

The gravitron had quite the receipt around the world with
our Vanandel Institute tomorrow night.

This is so cool.

It is one of those kind of fine tastings.

Did you hold her hair? I'm trying to were you there?
That's a big part of bonding as girls. She didn't
need to because the gravitron and holds your hair up
for you exactly.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Okay, anything else, Yeah, let's just get to uh. Greg
Guttfeld from Fox News is going to be here. He's
doing a huge show Saturday night, Vanandel Arena, The Grand
Rapids Triathlon is at Ada Township Park this weekend, and
Meyer Garden Summer concert series continues. I'm with her Sunday night.
