So as we're waiting for Jim Fisher with Kapa, there's
some of the things that he was going to talk about.
Gone with the Win one of the all time classic movies.
It is going to kick off on July twenty fifth
and twenty six. It's part of their summer movie celebration.
Gone with the Win. What an old time favorite, right?
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Oh my gosh, yes, I mean I remember watching that
as a kid and thinking that Rhett Butler was so
handsome and scarlet.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Oh my gosh. What's your favorite movie mckayleve all time?
And it doesn't have to be old fashioned movies, just
of all time. What is your go to movie that
you just love so much.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
If I had to think of all time, the one
that I watched the most Jaws.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
No, you know that the original Parent Trap.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
I watched a lot of that Hayley Mills movie, and
I would still turn it on.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I also really liked Overboard. Do you remember that movie
with and Kurt Russell.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I love that adventure. I'm like, get your memory back,
get your memory back. You wanted her to so much,
but then you didn't.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
It was just on recently and I was like, I'm
gonna stay here for a while.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Remake of that.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think I've seen it Google.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I think they made a remake of Overboard. To tell
you the truth, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Jaws is not your favorite? What is your favorite?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
If I had to say my favor, I will always
always go with The Rookie. I loved The Rookie because
it was based on a true story. I love sports
related movies that were based on a true story.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It's Charlie Sheen and The Rookie.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
No.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Dennis Quaid is the Rookie is.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
A high school teacher and coach, and he's giving BP
batting practice to his high school baseball team, and as
he's throwing the ball, and again this is based on
a true story. The U guys are like, coach, you
know how hard you just threw. They're like, man, you
got to try out if you if we win the
district title, will you find an MLB tryout somewhere. They're like, okay, yeah, whatever.
(04:35):
Because he knew they were going to win. Well, they won,
so he had to go and try out for the MLB.
It's just such a great movie movie. It's a very
family oriented and you see the difficult relationship he had
with his father. They were always moving because his father
was in the military, and how he was close with
his mom.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
But then it's it's and you love Dennis class.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
You've never seen the Rookie.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
I have not seen The Rookie.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Watch. I bet Marcus would like, do you.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Love Field of Dreams, which is kind of in that
same genre based on.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
A true story. If you build it, they will come.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Oh they built it, but it was not based on
a true story. Okay, I've got a couple of people
on the line, so let's do Francis. Francis, are you
calling for Columbus Symphony tickets to Picnic.
Speaker 2 (05:14):

Speaker 2 (05:25):

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (05:27):
Well I listened to it on the way home, and
it's what matters, and I'm interested in what you guys
really have to say. I literally just want tickets to
the Dublin Irish Show from you ladies a couple of
weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Well, you can't win too in a row. No, I'm
just excud.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Do you have you been to Picnic with the Pops before?
Speaker 5 (05:45):
No? I have not.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Oh, I think you're going to really really enjoy it.
It's it's it's good stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
And we think you get to choose your date Friday
or Saturday, but we'll let We'll make sure you get
linked up and then you find out.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Okay, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
We're so glad that you listen. We're glad you won.
We love when people get to win.
Speaker 1 (06:03):

Thanks Francis and have a good rest of the ride
home from work. If that's what you're still doing.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Hey, wait, Francis, are you still on the line?
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yep?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
What is We're just MICHAELA and I are just talking
randomly about favorite movies. What's your favorite all time movie?
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Oh, iron Man, our producer shaking his head.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yah's like, I get it, that's.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Your favorite all time go to movie, iron Man. I
get it. That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah it is. People love that that series. If you
will more, Okay, Francis, thank you, glad you won.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Let's go to Pete. Pete, I don't think we have
any more tickets unless we can speak for Kappa. If
Jim's not here, I think we should speak for Kappa.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
We were talking about movies, so yeah, let's speak for Kapa.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
All right, Pete? What is your favorite all time movie?
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Redemption?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
And filmed right here in Ohio? A lot of it?
Such a good movie.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
What do you love about it so much? Bete?
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Just you know, just the whole uh, the storyline, the storyline. Yeah,
but the reason I actually called was about the whole
boomerang effect can be moving back. Yeah, so I'm one
hundred percent in support of it. I had my oldest daughter,
she went to college in Phoenix for four years, and
(07:27):
when she called us last summer saying that she was
moving back to Columbus to be a nurse, at the James.
We were just thrilled because you know, of course we
miss her. Well now she's she's getting married in December
and she's going back to Phoenix, so of course we're
going to miss her again. But the main point is
that you know, we've all we've all heard that when
(07:51):
you look back on your life, you should always uh,
you're going to regret. Excuse me, you're going to regret
not so much what you did do, but what you
didn't do. And I could if Cammy does not move
back home, I could see where she might one day say, boy,
I wish I would have moved back home so I
could spend more time with my parents, you know. So
(08:12):
I see nothing wrong with it. I think it's a
great thing. And you know, it's it's just it's tough.
It's tough when you, you know, when when your kid
goes away to college for four years and you barely
I mean we saw her maybe twice a year, but
you know, it's just it's unless you actually really live
through it, it's it's it's really really tough. So I
(08:34):
just I think it's a great idea. I think that
the time spent that you guys are going to have
is going to be priceless.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Well, I love it. And even though she was only
twenty minutes away. You know, we live in Westerville and
she was going to Ohio State lived there. We still
saw her so much, but it wasn't the same as
having her home. And we're not going to be like
laying down the law. We're not going to say you
needed a twelve o'clock curfew or anything like that. Because
she is an adult now, she can come and go
as she wants. I wanted to to feel like it's
(09:00):
basically her apartment and she makes good decisions so far
in her life. We trust her. She's earned that trust
because she has made such good decisions so far, so
why not give her the green light go? You know,
we're just providing a shelter and lots of love for her.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Pete, I have to say this.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
You know, we have some callers who call in semi frequently.
You're one of those, and I know your story, so
I'm really, actually, really just lovely to hear the next
step for your daughter. Because she came back and if
I remember correctly, and my memory isn't always aisko, but
you've stuck with me. For some reason, you guys went
to a Kosai event or something. I think you want
(09:39):
to is that right?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Did you win tickets to Kosai? Be any chance? I
feel like I know your story.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Yeah, you have a good memory. Yeah a year ago
I'm saying, how I thank you guys for the opportunity,
because she had just told us that she was moving
back moving back to Ohio.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
So she is going back to Phoenix, but she's engaged
and married, is that right right?
Speaker 5 (10:03):
HERU, her fiance is going to med school out there,
and that's they went to college together out there, and so, uh,
he came back for a year, worked up in Michigan
applying to med schools basically, and then like I said,
she worked at the James for a year. And so
(10:24):
now he's going to med school out there and she's
going to be a nurse out there, and you know,
it's just I mean, of course, you know, you know,
we're excited for he's a great guy all that, but
it's just going to be tough not to uh not
to be able to see her like we like we
do now.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
I love that, Pete.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Thanks for being part of our what matters family story
and being a great dad.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah, we do have to go to break though, but
thanks so much for sharing your story again.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Keep your and stand the line with Ashley Pete because
we'll have something in store for you from cap okay. Oh,
thank you, thank you, and enjoy your daughter before she
heads back out. This is What Matters on six ten
