Speaker 1 (00:00):
Librarian, all the different branches and everything that they have
going on. That's fascinating for the month of December and
the holidays and Christmas, it's so much fun. Another great
place to go, without a doubt is Cosine.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
It is I mean again, it's something to put on
your calendar during this month. They have a couple of
things that are special for the holidays and a thing
or two that are just special in general that you
want to share with your family. We've got Josh Starver
on the line with us, who is pinch hitting for
doctor Birdley.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
But Josh, it is always good to also talk to you.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
It's always great to talk to you guys as well.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
So so much happening.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Let's start first of all with the holiday related items,
since Mindy and I are there in our heads today
and so is everybody else. Season of Celebrations. For those
folks who don't know what this exhibit is and how
it completely fits in with their holiday plan, can you
talk a little bit about that.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Absolutely. Season the Celebrations is our new tradition. This is
our third year of offering it to the public and
collaboration with our community partners who come to Coside to
decorate dozens of trees all around our buildings, so you'll
see them trees for stuff like the Columbus Opera or
the Department of Commerce, or the Columbus Zoo and a
few of your other community friendly groups that have come
(01:20):
out to help us. And then you'll also see steam
trees throughout the entire building, whether it's Tiksar which is
the current traveling exhibition that we have, or Wild Crats
which is another one, Crackerjack and some of your favorites
like Gadgets and Ocean and many more.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I have to say and show, Mindy, we did quite
the tree for season of celebrations and I'm so glad
you mentioned it, Josh.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
We had so much fun decorating this thing, Mindy, And you.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Say, we talk about who we is. This tree that
you're showing me is outstanding, But I know we isn't
like you, your husband and your boys.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
It's them.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
We're at my full time job, the Department of We
decided it was time to join as a community group
and decorate a tree.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
So as you can.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Tell, we did a Commerce story instead of a Christmas
story and themed our tree that way awesome. And Josh,
each group does a theme. I love opera Columbuses. I
think that it looks amazing.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Yeah, they do a fantastic job. Everyone comes and does
something unique and it's amazing to see every single year
it gets a little bit better. I think there's a
little competition going on between the community partners now, which
I love to see.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I was going to ask you that I was being
the competitor. Everything's in competition, whether we're playing a board
game or anything in our family. That's such a good idea.
You ought to invite judges in and pick like the
top three trees. I have to admit, Michayla's showing me
a commerce story and it's like the same emblem as
a Christmas story. Who thought of that? Mikayla, that's brilliant.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
A graphic designer and the gal who does our event coordination,
Katie and Susie Bland, and they did a fantastic job.
And Josh, that might be a good idea, wink wink
for next year. I don't know if that could ever
come into it, but.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Get some celebrity judges and let them pick the top
three trees.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
I do think you did.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
You have hot Coco in there.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Isn't there kind of like a bar scene, so to speak,
inside the space this year.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
That's right, that's something new for us. We call it
a dapper yetti. So come on in and get your
hot cocoa and a sweet treat. And as you move
around the corner, don't be scared, but the yetti himself
is there, so you can take a photo off with
a fantastic.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yetti that is hilarious. But don't you think, you know,
Kosa is great to go to any time of the year,
but I think there's something special about walking through those
doors during the holidays, don't you think, Josh.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yeah, absolutely, it's a great experience for your family. Make
it a tradition for them every single year. So whether
you're you have family in town or you're just visiting
yourselves with the family, it's a fantastic experience and we're
good for all ages. As you guys mentioned before, we
have those nice tickets for Kosai after Dark.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
We do, so let's get put the number out, don't
you guys to call us and give us a travel
story to win these tickets. So give us a ring
right now to win a four pack of tickets to
Kosai after Dark. We'll talk about what it's all about
here in a second six one four eight two one WTVN.
That's six one four eight two one nine eight eight.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Six for those tickets.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
So, Josh, is it the Roaring twenties? Did I see
that correctly? That's the December theme for Kosai after Dark.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
That's right, it's gonna be the Roaring twenties. So jump
into that daprietti that speak, easy, tarte of experience. Come
dressed up as your twenties attire. It's going to be
amazing experience with song and dance.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Okay, So let's do this six one four eight two
one nine eight eighty six. Like Mikayla just said, call
us up and just tell us your favorite decade. It
doesn't have to be the twenties. Maybe it's the thirties, forties, fifties.
Maybe it's the seventies or eighties, which we talked about
in Raw today. What's your favorite decade? Win yourself a
four pack to go to Kosai after Dark. I love
(05:00):
cosit after Dark. We've been there with the fam, And
what do you think if someone's never been there, Josh,
what would be the one thing you would tell them
to get them into the doors to experience this part
of Kosite after Dark.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
You know, I think no matter what your age in
terms of after twenty one, whether you're you know, Owding
a little bit young at heart, it's a great experience
for you to experience Kosi without the kids all around.
So don't worry. You won't have to wait your turn
for that hands on experience. You can jump right in there.
And it's always really nice to have a drink in hand.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
As well, always just like drinks, just.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Like drinks giving you missed the beginning of the show
Josh six.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Eight eighty six again.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Okay, So beyond Kosi after Dark and season of Celebrations,
what else do you guys have going on right now?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
That's special different for this time of year.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
You know, we have our fantastic travel nix editions like
Pisar and also Wildcrafts. But I really want to just
mention this amazing experience that we have this offer for
our membership Maybia. So this year, what you can do
if you purchase your membership between now and activate it
by January thirty. First, you not only get one year
of fantastic experiences, you get two years of fantastic experience
(06:10):
for the price of one. So it's a great deal.
Definitely recommend individuals taking advantage of it, whether you're going
to treat a family member or a friend, or maybe
even treat yourself.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
So what made you create that change. It's a great idea,
you know.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
I think it's something that we've always wanted to offer,
and we had a great relationship this year with a
couple of the local experiences as well. So if you
get this membership, you can also give away two tickets
to Disney on Ice, two tickets to the Circus, and
also two tickets to Monster Dams. So we're just doubling down,
it's not tripling or quadrupling down on our offer. I
think it's a great experience and what better time than
(06:46):
right now when people are looking for those amazing deals.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Oh my god, that's outstands.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
An amazing promotion to put under the tree for someone,
or to give to a family member or for yourself.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Like you said, Josh, I didn't know what involved all
of that all.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah, it's a really incredible deal. And like I said,
you can give that to someone else, or like I said,
treat yourself if you really need to. Add on to
those memberships. We really appreciate our numbers every single year,

Speaker 1 (07:20):
And we talked about Pixar your whole display there that
you have, and it's so fascinating to see how these
movies can come together and the things that happen along
the way to create what we see on the big screen.
You know, that can be another question to win tickets
to Kosai. We've talked about your favorite Pixar movie. Let's
just make it easy. What's your favorite Christmas movieh I
(07:41):
like that.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I like that a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
So we have the four pack to give away for
Kosi after Dark and a four pack of VIP tickets
that will get you into Pixar again.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
That number to call. This is what you guys need
in the next few minutes.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Six one four eight two one nine eighty eight six
six one four eight two one WTVN.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Josh, what's your favorite Chris This movie of all time?
If you have to sit there and watch it year
in and year out, your go to is what.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
I will watch it every single year. We'll go over
to my father's house and on Thanksgiving we will watch
Christmas Vacation and it's so fitting for us and our family.
And then that night I'll go out and put up
some of the lights as well. And so as I
was climbing up on the roofs the other night, during
that I could just not think about Christmas Vacation in
that moment as he plugs it all in, I like
to say, I dedicate this to the Starbar family every single.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Year, nothing like that. Yeah, for Christmases. I love for Christmas.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
You know I have not watched for Christmases. Please do
Reese Witherspoon and the guy, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Good guy. I can't think of his name. He's one
of my favorite.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, but I've not seen the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
What is his name? He's one of my favorite actors.
He's hilarious in this.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Vince Vaughn.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Vince vaughn N for Christmases. Have you ever seen it? Josh?
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Oh, it's a fantastic one. And you know, and for
me and my family, as we were a split fan
family and would go to the different locations about three
or four every single year. It's a very similar experience.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
I love. It's a wonderful life.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
It's it's something that we watch every year and everybody does.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
But it's so cool.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
This year, somebody that I work with, his son is
playing George Bailey in a play in Chicago.
Speaker 3 (09:18):

Speaker 2 (09:19):
He went to see his son Nathaniel in it last
week and I saw the pictures and I thought that
was just really incredible. I've never known anyone to be
in It's a wonderful life place, so.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I thought that was really cool.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
But alone in Chicago.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Yeah, in Chicago.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah, it's in glen View specifically, So there's always you know,
every community has its you know, bright spots of the
holiday season, and you know, we have such an opportunity
around Columbus to do some of these things too.
Speaker 4 (09:46):

Speaker 1 (09:46):
