Speaker 1 (00:00):
And it's on the line right now. In between that though,

(00:03):
as we're waiting for Brad, we do good news a
lot on this show. There's something that I forgot to
tell you and you are going to love this. You
remember when we had our psychic Tina Blankenship on, Yeah,
and one of the women who called in really just
wanted to know about some direction because her husband had
died and their daughter that they had together was extremely

(00:27):
sick and had seen five different doctors, and she was
also taking care of other family members.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yes, I remember she was. She the one who we
got her linked up with somebody.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Right, So her name was Kathy, and Tina said, get
a hold of me. I will do a reading for
you free of charge. And then we said, Kathy, we
feel for you too, because we love caregivers when you
take extra time for your family, let alone your own
daughter here trying to help in the midst of seeing
five doctors. I got a hold of our good friend
Kelly Douglas at Styles Salon and Spall Style STI l E.

(01:02):
I love how they spell style. She didn't hesitate. And
this is what you're a good business owner when you
have that outreach, when you look for those in your
own community to reach out. All I did is simply
ask I told her the story about what this poor
woman was going through. She's like, you know what, We'll
have her in for a massage and a pedicure. So
thank you, Kelly Douglas at Style Salon and Spa. Those

(01:23):
are the kinds of companies you want to give your business.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Too, And those are the kinds of community moments that
this show is about. I mean, let's be honest, like
when we can pair people up. I think that is
the most important thing that we can do here, is
to have community conversations and be able to connect people.
It's the core of the show.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So that's a great story. I know you'd like that.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I have a couple different good news stories while we
have a moment. First of all, right, now there's an
Ohio versus Michigan competition.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
This has been you.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
It's not the blood battle, Okay, it's something we're doing
at work. But it's good news because it can get
you money.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
It can get you money back in your pocket. I
like that.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
So I work at the Department of Commerce, of course,
and we have the Division of Unclaimed Funds, which has
been one hot topic over the summer, maybe the fall.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
We had you on Spectrum doing your little show and
tell thing there right at the fair.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
And because the conversation around the Sports and Culture Fund
for the State of Ohio, we want to get people
their money back before ten years elapses. So we did
this a couple of years ago, and it didn't matter
when you turned in the money or when the money
I should say was turned in. But right now we
are in a competition with the state of Michigan to

(02:46):
see who can give back the most money, the most
unclaimed funds to Michiganders or Ohioan. So here's what I
want you to do when you get a chance this week,
go to calm dot Ohio dot com. That is calm
dot Ohio dot gov and put in forward slash Radio.
So calm dot Ohio dot gov forward slash Radio to

(03:09):
help us win this competition. We want to give back
the most money to Ohioans and it's the perfect time.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
To do that. That way, Ohio State's going to beat
them on the field this year.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Finally, Yes, with this way, with the dollars I'm getting
back and the blood drive.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
All right, we have one more good news story and
then We are going to talk to Brad Koffel, who
is on the line. This is such an important story
about teenage suicide and something that may or may not
have happened. We need to talk about that. But again,
more good news. This is our last good news story
and I love this one. Normally, McKayla and I just
talked to you. We rarely read something to you. I've

(03:45):
done a couple times when it's a very heartfelt letter
or something. This was a post that was on Rottweiler
puppy lovers and rehoming. This was from a biker, like
a Harley biker, who said this. This is in his words.
I was pulling over to check my bike when I
heard soft whining from the shadows. I've ridden thousands of
miles and seen a lot out there on the open road,

(04:07):
but never something like this. This big roddy chained broken
and still trying to wag his tail when he saw me.
The caller had two notes. The first talked about putting
him down. The second was written in a child's handwriting
Purple cran online paper and it said this, please save Duke.

(04:28):
He's my best friend. Daddy says he has to go
to heaven, but I know bikers help animals. I prayed
that you would find him. There's eight dollars and fifteen
cents in his collar. It's all my birthday money. Please
don't let him die alone. Love Emma, age eight. When
I read that back to the biker, I knew there
was no way I was leaving Duke there. Sometimes angels

(04:52):
don't have wings. They write Harley's and Carrie leashes. So
he took care of that dog. Be right.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Things are meant to be, and angels are out there.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Harley ryders too.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Let's take a break and then get to Brad because
I feel like that needs a full segment conversation.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
So you've got him on the line.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, I am too, So Brad Koffel for the Defense
working on an investigation in Upper Arlington, will be right back.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
This is what matters.
