Speaker 1 (00:00):
What.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
We all could use a little good news, right Kaylas?
Speaker 1 (00:05):
You know it, Mindy, And that's why we're here with
your good news segment sponsored by the Undefeated Tattletale.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Tattletale goes above and beyond to keep your family and
your property safe, stopping.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
The bad guys. That's always good.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
News, and Tattletale is American maid.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Check it out at tattletale dot com and the puck
stops there, Mindy. I liked that from Brian in our
last segment The Puck Stops Here, Love it. Tattletale always
came up with that.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
He kind of came up with that pretty fast, right
off the puck of his head.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I was impressed. So, okay, you told us about one
must have when you're near a body of water during vacation.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
But for good news. I'm curious, though, have you ever
heard of that? Did you know you could do that?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
No?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
I did.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
I took down a note to make sure that I
look it up, because God knows I'll need it at
some point.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I think phones are better water protected these days, though, don't.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
You I they are, but I still don't trust it,
you know what I mean? I know too many situations
since what we had palm pilots or whatever twenty years ago,
where I've had water.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
When that thing fell to the pool, I was dying
and I couldn't believe that it could still work right
out of the pool. But then, of course, you know,
throughout the day, as I said, I couldn't charge it
until Cammie told me about that bounds to remove water
from phone on Spotify. Any Way, it worked. So the
other thing I thought was so cool. And I'm so
curious to know if you've heard of these, especially because
(01:36):
you have two young boys. Do your boys like water balloons?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
They did in the past a lot. They've sort of
graduated from them, but I wouldn't I suspect they wouldn't
mind him if you know I had some on hand.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Well, we're sitting with a family alongside the pool, and
all of a sudden they start throwing these water balloons.
But they are magnetic water balloons. So imagine this. I'm
going to try to describe it so you can visualize it.
They're the coolest things. I love these things. Think of
just a circle like a ball, like the size of
a baseball, and then being able to cut that baseball
(02:13):
in half. So when it opens up kind of like
a packman head. Okay, when you open it up, you
fill it up with it, so you like put it,
you sink it down to a pool, it fills it
with water, and then it closes again and it stays
closed because if it has a magnetic ring around it
on the inside of where you open up the ball
(02:34):
do you see what I'm saying. Yeah, So then it
holds this water and you can throw it back and
forth and it explodes like a water balloon explodes, but
then you can refill it over and over because it's
a magnetic water balloon and you.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Don't waste the balloons.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
It's yeah, and you can see budget over again.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
So does it break? Does the magnetic strip break open
when they break? And that's how it works, like it
depends on how right it hits.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
The right right exactly. So like like anything that's magnetic,
it comes apart. So the water explodes on whoever you're
throwing it at or whatever you're doing, but it doesn't
matter because you just refill it again and then you
can just try to toss it without breaking it like
a real water balloon. I just thought it was such
a cool thing to see. I'm like, I've got to
mention this on the air because once again, you know,
(03:23):
how many times have we gone through life and you
think yourself, why didn't I think of that? Why did
I think of that?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, I could be the one who's out there, you know,
coming up with these ideas and prospering. I'm looking it up.
I'm going to look that up though, because the boys
I think actually could get into that. I you know,
it's like nuanced enough, it's not just your regular old
water balloon. I love it. My good news is WSYX
worked with the Coworking Cafe study that was done within
(03:52):
the last few weeks. And you know, I'm a working mom.
I've been a working mom and Columbus was named the
city best US city for working mothers in the last
few weeks.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Wow. Why Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
So twenty three minute average commute time, which is the
ninth quickest in the nation, so we can get to
work quickly, so we can spend more time with our families,
you know, before and after one hundred and thirty schools
per one hundred thousand kids. I don't know what you're
going to think of this, that's fourteenth overall. So when
(04:28):
you have one hundred thousand kids, you have one hundred
and thirty schools to divide them between, and in the
nation that's fourteenth overall. We're ranked eleventh for the cost
of living and we have five point one coworking spaces
per one hundred thousand, which is great for flexibility. So
there's a lot of reasons that working as a mom
(04:49):
works here. And I just thought it was really cool.
Cincinnati came in twenty you know here we are the
sixth since he came in twenty in the large.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
We of Cleveland on there.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Cleveland was not. Canton and Youngstown were in this small
metros a top twenty five, and Acron, Dayton, and Toledo
with mid sized towns, but no, Cleveland is not on
this list.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Interesting. It is impressive though, because obviously there's more working
moms now than there have been in past years. I mean,
it's just a growing trend, you know that. I don't
I don't really see disappearing.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, seventy eight point one percent of moms are employed
in Columbus, eight among large metros. So you have to
have some work life balance and some flexibility for these moms,
and that's it seems like what Columbus offers, which we
love Columbus. So I'm glad to see all the support
for all those working moms through all of our amenities
and what's out there. I'm getting the break Oh Hio,
(05:42):
there you go. I'm getting a break sign from Chris
when we come back a performance. We don't usually have these, mindy,
this is kind of nice, something different today.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I can't wait to hear it. Since I won't get
to see it, I can't wait to.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Hear it the ladies of Longford. I'm gonna go get
him out of the lobby. And and that's next on
what Matters
