Speaker 1 (00:04):
Oh my gosh. We appreciate our listeners so much. And
I have to say, Mikayla, I really think this show
focused so much on family. It really did today. It
doesn't do that a lot anyway, but today seemed like
it was extra special.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, and there's joy in that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
So I want to end on that note with a
great family note. You know, we talked about the Sydney
Sweeney uproar, and you see so much online and so
much of it is negative and people picking at one each,
at one another and just causing so much controversial issues
that don't really need to be that. It's refreshing when
you can spread some positive news and stuff. Absolutely, so
(00:44):
I saw this. I love to follow this guy. His
name is Colin Rugg. He's one of my favorite people
to follow. But he put this out there, he said,
former Viking star, because you know, the big NFL Hall
of Fame happens and the induction ceremony happens every year,
and can't know how.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
We just watched the game the other night exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
So anyway, former Viking Star Jared Allen delivered a very
emotional message for his wife during his Pro Football Hall
of Fame speech and his daughters, and he said he
is will always be considered one of NFL's best pass
rushers of all time, with one hundred and thirty six
career sacks and one hundred and seventy one career tackles
(01:21):
for loss, which is huge you can have. You can
obviously see why he got inducted into the Hall of Fame.
But when he gave his speech, he obviously thanked and
talked about his teammates and his coaches, but he really
wanted to end on a strong note. And he looked
right at his wife and he said, you know they
say in life the most important decision, there's two of
them you will face. One is to follow Christ and
(01:44):
the second one is who you choose to marry. And
he said, you are such an uplifting person. You're not
an anchor who drives people down, but you build people up.
And then he looked over to his daughters and he
said this to them. And we've got a little bit
of sound that I thought we'd end the show with
because it's so nice and positive and we need more
of this. Go ahead and play it.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Chris, Britany and Lachland through this process The word legacy
has been talked about a lot.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Paul often says, they're here to tell my story. Well,
I'm here to tell you too. You are my greatest accomplishments.
When I get called home to heap one day, if
all they talk about is this gold jacket my career
that I failed miserably as a father, a husband, and
a friend, you too are my legacy. You were both
(02:38):
so talented and I cannot wait to see what you
decided to do them. We're going to conquer this world.
So always put Christ first, find your why, dream big dreams,
and always pursue greatness. And whatever you do, thank you
all and may God bless you all.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Isn't that great? Isn't that positive and great? If everybody
can find their.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Way find their why?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Right? And he doesn't want to be remembered as a
great professional athlete, a football player. He wants to be
remembered as an awesome husband, person, father.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Isn't the purpose of life to find your why? Like
I've always felt that way?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Have you found your why?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:18):
I totally think I've found my why? How about you?
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I think so?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
And I think part of what we do here and
I think part of our why, and we don't talk
about this, so you can tell me if I'm off.
But I think in what you do and what I
do and how we live our lives, we create community.
I do think that's part of our why. I feel
strongly about it in my life.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
And I think this shows a perfect example of that
I do. I think my why is just to make
people smile, which is can happiness, you know, I really do.
I think that I was here to be a mom
of Kylon and Cameron, to make good humans, but just
to be a good Samaritan, be a good person. We
need more good people.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
We do talking about that in one of the breaks,
like some of the wild things we see, Oh.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
My gosh, the manhunts that have been going on across
the country, the bad news that came out of Cincinnati,
that violent brawl. We just need more good humans doing
great things.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
For people, and I think that builds community. So that's
why I think it all leads back to it, and
I think you're brilliant at it, and I am so
glad to do the show.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yeah, but I wasn't very good Smiritan, and I didn't
remember your birthday, you know what, Ashley.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Ashley didn't either, Ashley, you know what I'm talking about, dn't.
And she's like, you're gonna fire me, and I said, no,
I'm not going to fire you. You guys, great show,
Thanks for being here with with family. Yeah, and whatever
you do, spend some time doing this week what matters
