(00:01):
All right, guys who is lookingfor love? Wouldn't you love speaking of
to start twenty twenty four with apossible new relationship, maybe a friendship,
but just go out and take achance. I mean, I think it
sounds if you're single, delightful rightcold January and February headed into March,

(00:21):
it's kind of low key. Wouldn'tit be nice to meet someone somewhere else
other than an online app? Yes, and that's where we have the perfect
opportunity for you. And every timeMikayla and I have done this, it's
our version of the dating game. That's what I was, the Dating Day
Game. Yes, Yes, it'sour radio version of the dating game.
And every single time we've done it, whether it's worked out or not,

(00:44):
it has been fun. No onehas walked out of this studio saying,
oh my gosh, I'm so embarrassed. I wish I would have never done
that. Never. Everyone said thiswas so much fun, because it is
exactly that. So we're going tobe looking for three guys. You're about
to meet the Bachelor Rapp. Threeguys. You can come in to WTVN
on February fourth and compete for adate with this lovely lady. So here's

(01:08):
the deal. You need our phonenumber because you're talking to Angela. You're
gonna want to call us if you'reinterested in being a contestant and give your
information to Hannah. It's six onefour eight two one nine eight eighty six
six one four eight two one WTVN. Let's meet Angela. Angela, you
went out on the legend. Yousaid I want to do this, and
you reached out to Mikayla a couplemonths ago and said, if you guys

(01:32):
do that dating thing again? Iam in didn't you? Yes? I
did? Why? Well, Mickaylaand I go back a long ways,
and I just I found that thedating scene at my age is just not
for the faint of heart. Well, so tell everybody how old you are,
Angela. I am fifty six, okay, fifty six? And what

(01:55):
has the scene been like lately?Well, it just depends. It's very
hard to meet someone in the wild, as they say, and then the
dating apps you have to sort throughwhat is real and what is phony and
making the connection as hard and evenwhen you do, often it doesn't lead

(02:15):
to an in person meeting. Sotell us a little bit more about you
and if anyone is at all interestedin maybe being one of the contestants,
because how we will do this isAngela will be in studio. She will
be secluded into a different studio soshe cannot see any of the other contestants.
We'll have three male contestants and youwill be in here with Mikaelin myself

(02:37):
and she's going to ask you alldifferent kinds of questions. So if you
are willing to maybe do this, you can call up right now and get
on the board be a contestant. We're doing this a little early because the
second Sunday in February I'll be gone, but we would rather do this before.
I was going to say Thanksgiving beforeValentine's Day instead of after. So
maybe you can go on a datefor Valentine's Day. And that's the other

(02:59):
thing we have to do is wehave to find a restaurant for them to
sponsor to go on their date. We'll do that. So tell us a
little bit about yourself, Angela.Well, I am a teacher and this
is actually my last school year.I'm going to be retiring at the end
of this school year, so I'mgoing to have plenty of free time.
I'm game for any kind of adventureand unless it's skydiving or roller coasters.

(03:22):
And I like sporting events and concerts, restaurants, happy hours, coffee,
you know, just going out andyou know, meeting new people. And
do you do any kind of likeoutdoor sports or do you enjoy the outdoors
Angela, I do love the outdoors, of course, not this time of
year. But I'm up for anything, you know, kayaking. I try

(03:45):
to work out three times a week. And in the summer, I'm always
out mowing my yard or gardening. So you're out there, You're out there
in the dirt. You'll get outthere in the dirt. What has what
has been some of the challenges prior, Like, I know you've dated,
like you've had some long term relationships. What are you looking for at this
point? You know, at thispoint, I would like to find a

(04:06):
friend and see where that leads someoneyou know, who has similar interests.
My faith is really important to me. That's not you know, it's not
vital that the person is of myfaith. That you know, I would
prefer a man of faith. I'ma sucker for a great smile, and
anyone who can make me laugh. And someone who can just carry on a

(04:28):
conversation, who's comfortable, no inwhatever crowd, whether we're at dinner or
we're at a festival or a concert. Just someone who who is comfortable.
What time? What type of musicdo you like? Oh? Everything from
country to gospel to rock, classicrock. I recently I saw Billy Joel

(04:50):
and Stevie Nicks at Ohio Stadium backin the fall. That's a good concert.
I'd heard a lot about that.So I drink you're right about because
you and I are right around thesame age. First of all, I
can't believe you're getting ready to retire. I can't believe you're getting ready to
retire. Will you miss education? And what grade do you teach? I
teach second grade right now. Thisis only my third year in second grade.

(05:14):
I will miss the kids, Iwill miss being around my people,
my team of people. But I'mreally ready for a new adventure. You
know, I've done this for thirtyfour years, that's true. Fortunate to
be in the same district for allof those years. So I've made a
lot of great friendships. And you, if I'm not mistaken, you worked
in kind of special ed and specialed administration for a little while, didn't

(05:36):
you. I did. I wasa director of special led for our school
district for six years until my momgot sick and I stepped down, and
I've been back with kids ever since. So you took care of your mom.
I needed to be available for heroncology appointments. Oh it too,

(05:57):
really, and said, I'm alwaysworking with the day I decided, you
know, there are things more importantthan work. I can Oh my gosh,
I can really appreciate that. I'mglad you did that, and I'm
sure you are too. What districtare you in? I work for Miami
Trade. Okay, so I havea thirty five or forty minute commute,
but I help myself as a countrygal who turned city girl. When I

(06:21):
think of Miami Trace, wasn't thatthe home of arts leisure? It was
sister taught with me. She wasa good friend of mine. Oh really,
yeah? Huh? So do youknow art? I do not know
art. I never met Art DonHis sister passed away a few years ago.
She was our music teacher, butI never knew art. Do you

(06:44):
come into the city frequently? Areyou someone who live in the city?
I mean I live I live inthe city. So you are living in
the city, so you're commuting toschool at this point work. Yeah,
I like to live near things, you know, if I need to be
near stores and restaurants and movie theater. Yeah. Well, we have someone
on the line to talk to you, So hold on, let's see who
this guy is. Is this aGreg? Are you wanting to be one

(07:09):
of the contestants to win a date? Sure? Oh, Greg, Greg's
game for February fourth. Have youheard our dating game before? Greg?
You? Have you ever listened in? It seems to be familiar. I
try to listen to you guys onSundays, not every Sunday, but it

(07:30):
does. I think I've heard itmaybe once. So tell us about yourself
and what maybe you could be attractedto. Angela for first answer your question
though, what about you? Whatis it about you? Oh? Well,
you know, let's see. I'msixty three. I'm originally from Circleville
and I've lived in Columbus, Hellgeez since the eighties. I work in

(07:55):
public safety. It's a very rewardinggig I used to Most of my past
was actually in the automotive industry, and I always laugh at boots A laugh
at boots. Yeah, yeah,he needs some help. But you know,

(08:16):
short and short, I mean, yeah music, I'm kind of a
classic rocker most part. I playeddrums as a hobby. I was in
the marching band back in school days. And I like to cruise around.

I was not that I want to, you know, come off, you
know, like I'm looking for arebound. But I was alone for quite
some time, and I finally raninto a relationship. I just got bold

(09:09):
and approached a gal, probably justunder six months ago. And that relationship,
let's just say, didn't work out. It's it's very unfortunate. I
was very happy, but I thinklong term there was there was difficulties.

(09:33):
