Speaker 1 (00:05):
All right, power pack two hours here, we're gonna end
it with some fun content here, and Megan wants to
share we just had a fun event at our education center.
So this is Joe Schmid's with Peak Retirement Planning, and
Megan Casterbury runs our marketing team. And you know we
are you know, Minny and michaela out today, so we're
filling in form. But go ahead and tell them about
(00:26):
the ladies lunch bunch that we just had and how
much fun that was for you all.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Oh my goodness, this just spoke to my soul. Let
me tell you, guys, I always wanted for my twenty
first birthday to just have a tea party with all
of my friends, and I never did it, and so
this event was inspired by that. We had just a
lady's lunch and spent the afternoon together. We had tea,
we got all dressed up in our sun dresses and
(00:50):
sun hats, and it was so fun. And it's really
about the relationships, Jill, I mean, just the opportunity to
get to know these ladies and talk with them on
a more personal level and old friendships, and honestly, I
think my favorite part was watching our clients become friends
with other clients and realizing, wow, you know, I have
so much in common with this person and I'm just
(01:10):
seeing those those friendships develop. It was it was an
incredible time.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, they brought their friends too and wanted to introduce
them to us, and so it's just a lot of
a lot of fun. But I know, obviously, for those
that aren't aware, my mother actually worked with us at
pee retirement, so fun stories. She actually quit her job
to come work with me when I first started the firm,
and I remember sitting at the kitchen table and I said, hey, Mom,
I think we can make this work where you can
take early retirement and you know, come help me. And
(01:34):
you know, I taught her it's only only be about
thirty hours a week and be a pretty easy job.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
I mean, you get to work with your son.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
I mean that's a huge benefit, which obviously is an
incredible benefit for her.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Her and I are best friends.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
But I was like, it'd be you know, easy, it'd
be nice for relaxing, and well, it turned out to
be that we grew very very fast, and she was
probably working more like fifty sixty hours, probably.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
More at times.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
But because of that I'm forever grateful for her, but
also I mean she feels every bit of part of
our growth and how we've went from just us two
to now over forty team members and continue to grow
and serve clients all across the country. So I know,
you and Jill spoke, which is Jill's my mother, just
kind of the family feel of what we're trying to
create at Peak, right with the fact that we have
(02:17):
so many family members that work there, but also we
have want to make our clients feel like family too.
I mean, we want to be very intimate. It's their
life savings. I mean we want them to feel very
comfortable and go above and beyond form.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, absolutely so.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
And I know also on that topic, we're looking at
writing a children's book, which is premierly your idea, and
so Megan came up to me one day and she said,
let's write a children's book. We always talk about how
we're here to serve generations that come. Right, we're a
younger firm. We're here to serve you, both spouses. If
one passes, we're here to serve the next generation of
the children or the loved ones that the money passes to.
(02:50):
But we always joke with people and say, we're going
to be there for the grandkids as well. So what
are we doing with this children's book here? What's a purpose?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, so our marketing team is still fleshing out the
plot here. We actually just had a new marketing specialist
start with us, and he's in reading through children's books.
Joe's joking with them like, hey, you've got nothing better
to do then to sit here and read kids' books
all day. But he's been doing some research on things,
and definitely, I know we want to hit on just
you know, family principles and also just you know, some
(03:18):
financial principles as well. But just how fun would that
be to be able to gift a book to our
clients and say, hey, when the grandkids come over and
stay with you and do a sleepover, here's the book
that you can read them before bed, And just so
so fun and so special. I mean, we just talk
about the family feel and we want to just find
more and more ways to incorporate that into what we're
(03:38):
doing with our client service.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
And of course you all are wondering. Megan's already warned
me that I can't make it boring and only talk
about financial topics. So we're going to add some fun
to it and make sure that any any child can
learn financial topics and the importance of compound interest and
the importance of saving and you know, to have that
piggy bank, which we're going to get Peak branded, which
actually my dad had the idea of and Megan's now
(04:00):
hiring him as a new marketing director of Peak Retirement.
But I just going to be a fun idea and
just really it's who we are. We're here to serve
and here to serve families, and so that's going to
be a fun one. And another fun one that any
of you listening that want to learn more educational content.
We talked about our YouTube, but maybe you want to
come in person and you want to hear some education
speakers on financial topics, and we have every.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Month at our education center.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
We have up to forty people we can fit into
our center there and we do educational content. We do
them on all different types of topics, and so Megan
will fill you in on some of the ones we
have upcoming, the ones we've done in the past, and
what you can do if you want to learn more
and attend that.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yeah, these are really fun. I mean, Joe, we do
how many workshops in the community, so every single week,
but these are just special because we have our own
education center and you know, it's on our campus and
we have people out and it's an incredible time. We've
done topics on things like a state planning, market forecasts.
We have one upcoming here actually one of our clients.
(05:01):
She's a travel planner, and she is going to tell you, guys,
how to get the best bang for your buck and
take the best trips ever, which is you know, hard
for a lot of people. You know, the clients we serve,
they have a hard time spending that money and want
to make sure if they're going to take a trip,
they get the most value out of it possible. And so,
you know, we were even joking we wanted to do
a topic on medicare, and we're like, how do we
(05:22):
make this more fun. We're like, oh, maybe we could
host it at you know, the Mexican restaurant down the street.
We'll call it Medicare and Margarita's. I don't know if
Joe's fully sold on that idea yet. I might have
to go to Cardboard Joe two point zero to get
a sign off on that.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
We'll see that's funny.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
But yeah, if you guys want more information on that,
just text us. We'd love for you to come on out.
I mean, it's it's no cost, it's just to educate
and have a good time. So six one four, five

events and we'll send you upcoming schedule of what we've
