Speaker 1 (00:00):
Every single Sunday, did you have a good weekend?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
And week I did. Boots has had a busy summer.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
I think it's always had because it's car show Scar season.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Yeah, but I'm about to leave you in the lurch
for a couple of weeks and I come in like
literally within twelve hours of getting back.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I do the show? Is that right?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
We get back on Saturday night the week we come back,
and then I come to see you well.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
And if you need it off, don't worry about it.
I mean, you just say. Because we've been talking this
for a while, about this for a while, Mikayla, for
the first time ever is going over to Italy. I
remember when you got your passport and it was such
an exciting thing. But I can't believe it's here already.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I know, didn't that that summer went really fast and
the end of summer went really fast for you because
of the boat and the house and all of Indian Lake.
But you're having fun. I'm having fun getting ready to go.
It's it's a time of life to do that.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I think one of the best things that since we
bought this little lake house is and this is no exaggeration.
Ever since August tenth, when we got it, the weather's
been like this every single weekend since we've been there.
On every weekend that we go, which is every single weekend,
it has been like this. It's been great. But I
can't tell you how many people I am meeting that

(01:13):
are right here from central Ohio that have a weekend
place up there. I am floored.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
You're a little fraternity.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Oh, it's just fun. It's just such a it is
a community, and we love our community talk when we
always do. So. Yeah, it's just a great thing. But
it was. I can't wait to hear your stories about Italy.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I'm going back to your homeland.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I'm half Italian. My mom was one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Italian, Yes, and did she go over much once one
time and her parents were off the boat here, yes,
or now.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Her parents, but her grandparents came over on the boat.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Came over on the boat. But I can't wait to
send you pictures and show you things. And I actually
I have an idea. We haven't we've both been really
busy and I've been getting busy getting ready for this trip.
I have an idea for our segment after the co
op that I think is going to be great for
both you and lake life and me and moms coming
into town. What does a guest bedroom need to make

(02:12):
it comfortable and wonderful for the people who are staying
in it.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
It's funny because we have Melinda Peters Elliott coming in
who's a fine designs and interiors y miner and the
help she could help with that.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
So I was thinking maybe we could talk about that
at five and then at five twenty see what.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Other people tell us what they do when they have
guests come over, because.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I think, I mean, you're there, but there's probably like
little things that you haven't thought of and that I
need to think of as well.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Because I don't know my parents know this. Mikayla's mom
and Marcus's mom are going to be staying at the
house taking care of the boys, which is so crazy
in itself because you're looking at Marcus's parents raised him
one way, your parents raised you a different way. I
mean no, no, two parents raise their kids the exact same. No.

(02:58):
After now they're going to be the guest. They're taking
care of your boys. And it's funny because I was
asking Christian we were at Joe the peak retirement planning,
and it'll get together. And I said, you excited to
spend some time with your grandma's He's like, yeah, I'll
be playing monopoly with one. The other I'm not so sure.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Maybe read a lot and let's guess who is who?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
I know?

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
So the nice thing is, you know, probably like any
kind of in laws, they are very different. And Debbie
is super chill and my mom is like, let's go,
let's go. And so I think they'll balance each other out.
And as long as the kids are healthy, safe and
happy with those grandparents and they when is the last

(03:41):
time they've ever gotten to spend two weeks with grandparents?

Speaker 1 (03:44):
If you have ever been to Italy and you have
any advice for Mikayla, oh yeah, six one four eight nine,
eight eighty six, where she should go, what she should eat,
what she shouldn't eat? Six one four eight nine eighty six,
or even on the plane trip over, how long is there?

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Right? I think it's eight and a half hours, not bad,
it's not too too bad. So we fly to Toronto
first and then we fly Toronto to Rome. But I'll
tell you what this government shutdown could affect some things.
If we shut down on Tuesday. I'm gonna be at
the airport a lot longer than two hours before my flight.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Get so sick and tired of it. We have been
threatened for years and years and years under Republican president's,
democratic presidents. It doesn't matter now always that we're gonna
it's a government shutdown. It's gonna be a government shutdown.
You know what, shut it down? What the heck? Get
over yourselves and do.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Something right, do something, because you know, I'm so tired
of it.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Always it's always there. It's like they threaten this almost
every year, every two years, every headlines, and then right
before midnight they find a solution, strike a deal to
avoid another government shutdown. It happens all the time.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I would like I would like it to be kind
of easy since this is my first time overseas in
terms of the travel part. So I please cover and shutdown,
please make it easy. So yeah, I'm excited, and yeah,
if you guys have advice, let me know.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
So we have a great show coming up because we
have giveaways. We always love giveaways, and every single month
we give you an opportunity to win Kosai tickets also
also Kosai after dark tickets. That's the adult side of Kosai.
We can go look at the exhibits, have a couple
of cocktails and get all dauled up or dress up
in theme.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Oh and the themes are outrageous. And this one's going
to be Apocalypse on October ninth, so I can only
imagine what futuristic costumes and attire will look like.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
So Doctor Burtley, I believe.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
He's joining us on the phone from where Barbados Barbie
thank you with like talk about his homeland, country family.
So I think that's what's gonna happen, and he's going
to join us at four thirty.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Five, all right. Then at five o'clock, right at the
top of the second hour, we are going to talk
to Melinda Peters Elliott because she's said a lot of
times when people move into a home, they want to
chains because it's kind of set up in a cheap way,
but you don't want to live that way. That the
Let's say you bought someone else's home and it's maybe
designed or decorated a certain way. So she's going to

(06:10):
help you design your own new home, or if you
have an older home when you want to do some
changes she's great at that too. And Dixie is going
to talk about with the Lundquist Royalty Group. Finally, President
Trump has been asking for interest rates to drop a
little bit. Finally they're dropping. So President Trump is happy
because he knows it can help with home sales and
car sales and things like that. So Dixie wants to

(06:33):
talk about absolutely, she wants to talk about how to
get your house ready if you are going to sell it.
What do you have to do to make it more
appealing to the buyer?

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah, and you know, if you're going to sell, now's
a great time obviously given the interest rate drop and
much season and it's not that much of a upert
it's a start, but to start, and then if you
want to prepare over the winner. Now is the times
like put your punch list together of what you need
to get done.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
You know what else she's gonna tell us what It's
a really good time to sell when kids are back
in school because there's more of an opportunity to have
open houses. You don't have to hurge able to get
the kids together, the dogs together, get out of the
house because kids are already gone.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
So you don't have worry about that. I haven't even thought.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
About it exactly. She said, when kids are in school,
it's really a good time to sell your house.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
And speaking of Italian, I mean you could.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
I'm so sad I'm missing this, but we're talking all
things Italian Festival that are coming up in the next Is.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
It next weekend or the weekend after?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
I believe it's the twelfth, it's eleven.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yes, I'm going to miss it. And it's an amazing time.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Italian Festival. Oh my gosh. We used to go every
single year because my mom was Italian, so we would
go to the Italian Festival. I don't know what was
more fun, eating the different food or seeing all the
different people that we've known forever, your either family or friends.
So we are giving away tickets to this year's Italian Festival.
Rick and Londa Burnetto are coming in and cannot wait

(07:56):
to talk to them. Rick is this year's Grand Marshall.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I saw you said that it's something new. I was
a Texter. I looked it up and I saw it.
But that's so neat.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
So keep it here to win tickets to have great conversations.
We have hot topics coming up. My hot topic is
simply this. I can retire now. I've had the highlight
of highlights of my career. And if you don't know
what I'm talking about, you do, mccasions, I do. I'm
going to share a little bit of what I did
and what is coming to town in January.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
And then if any of you salegated or knew someone
who salegated before the game yesterday, have you heard about this?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Oh, I know what it is, you know what it is.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
It was like a huge deal.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
If any of you know someone who did that or
did that, give us a call during hot topics too,
because it was a hot thing to do yesterday.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
How about those Buck guys?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Buck guys?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Washington didn't even call a touchdown. But I tell you what.
The game that Randy and I were glued to was
the Penn State game against Oregon. What a battle, double overtime.
I felt so bad for Penn State. I mean, what
a crowd, what an environment. But I really like Oregon's
coach too.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
You like the coach and I don't know the Organs coach.
I don't think I know who's a good.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Looking a good looking coach.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
They wanted to come to High State I was watching.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Illinois USC because then the line I have a team
this year, because we'll see why they play Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Well, right, and that's the next game.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Next game is Minnesota, I believe.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Oh it's not Illinois. I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
That was preparing Christa. You know, is next week? I
thought next week is seven thirty game against Minnesota. Maybe
I'm wrong. We're gonna look it up and we'll come
back to Minnesota. Minnesota. So I thought it was a
home games, home games against Minnesota. But when we play Illinois,
it is at Illinois. Oh, the following week.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
That could be the following week.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
So lots to talk about six one four eight two
one nine eighty six six one four eight two one
at WTV and call in for hot topics that you
gotta hear Mindy's.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
And we want to know.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, I can't wait to share it with all of you.
If you say all get it. Maybe people aren't on Facebook,
maybe they don't know what we're talking about, but I
cannot wait to share this with all of you.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Well, some people are gonna want to get tickets. I'm
gonna say, okay.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Right, this is what matters on six ten WTVN
