Speaker 1 (00:00):
Come well, family dynamics. That's the topic of this conversation.
The entire hour. It's been so fun.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Keimmy and I have to take off, though we are
going to Everybody else is unloading the U haul, so
we're gonna beat that part of it.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Cammy, we'll get there just the time to go on
the boat.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Right.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
That's what we planned it out.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Jo just got it all planned out with your.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
I gotta go after this, so I gotta go.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
So I got it.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
We're talking about family dynamics, being a mama's boy, being
a daddy's girl, favoritism in families. It does all exist,
but does it really? I mean, you just you have
to find a way that makes it work for your
own family. My friend Jill at work said, or parents
like mine that had quit parenting the twins after six kids,
And I think that's true. I think when you have

(00:42):
that first born, you want everything to be perfect, and
you you watch every little step they take, everything that
goes into their mouth, everything.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
After six, heaven, eight kids, do you even care anymore?
Is it a free for all? I mean we can
only guess.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Yeah, there are seven kids in our family and I
was the number six, so we number six and seven
had a pretty young sister and a younger sister.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Boys and girls.

Speaker 5 (01:04):
There was five girls and two boys.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
All them four dude, Yeah, I know.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
And then the oldest the oldest boy was out of
the house, so the younger boy was still in the
house and he had all us girls and we tease
him verselessly. He was it was crazy, but he uh,
seven of us.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, well, Randy was one of eight, well one of
eight kids.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
But I think my daughter and son.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
My son looks at that for sure, and he's like,
I want to have ten kids, Like.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Good luck with that age. Too much money, Kimmy, you
don't want that easily said for a guy. I'm just kidding,
And I'm just kidding. I want, I want, I want.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I only like I probably like three or four kids,
two or four.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Don't have a middle child. My brain is true child
get period.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Do you think it's hard when you have two kids
not to show favoritism, Jill.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
They're so different our kids, Our kids are so different.
We know how to we know their language, I guess,
so we know how to relate to them because they
are so different. Even though they're raising the same home.
They had different personalities. Yes, totally different.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I think Kylon and Cameron are totally different, don't you can? Oh, yeah,
they're so different.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
And I even will ask Granton like, how did we
get one really neat organized kid?

Speaker 3 (02:13):
And that can.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
But that is funny because if you do think of.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
DNA, how can kids be so different raised under the
same roof. But you had these two so close to a.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Year and a week apart.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
That's not supposed to be you understanding.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
You're supposed to wait.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
You're supposed to like heal and all that.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, I have one good looking husband.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
I mean, I jumped the fence. I'd probably hang out
with him. But I'm so sat Oh he's teasing when
I say that. But but yeah, that's you're supposed to
wait here or too.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Well, like I said, I had one really good husband,
looking good looking husband. It's been a very enlightening conversation.
In closing, Jill, what do you want to say to
any moms out there listening or future parents?

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Well, we actually had a lady at work that decided
to stay home. She just had her first child, and
I told her, it's a bet job in the world.
So if you can stay home, some women can't. I
get that they like to work, they like their job outside,
but if you can't stay home with your child, I
think it's the best thing in the world.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I really do.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I wholeheartedly agree, and it makes me sad that I
don't think as many people do stay home anymore.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
In idle minds are the worst thing for like at
eleven or twelve year old, or the things we did
with supervision, I can't imagine my parents running around the
house would have been burned to the crown.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Problem gave me. A lot of people are wondering what
you're doing.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Now, oh, being washed up? Do you want athlete? I'm
just I took a job with the Ohiota Athletics. They
hire eight athletes every year.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Started three years ago.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
So I'm working with the development team in athletics right now.
So I'm working with quite a lot of other former
athletes actually have stayed around are on that floor. So
I really like that. Still giving lessons for softball, private lessons,
helping I'm the head coach of a sixteen you travel
ball team now and then I'm still trying to pursue
the possibility of going to play overseas professionally for softball.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I will say that, and I want you to comment
on this, and I know, Boots, how you feel too.
Sometimes when you are an athlete, you do learn discipline
and hard work and dedication, and it's kind of what
you have trickled down into your own business of peak retirement,
don't you think.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
I mean it's just the early morning practices, all the discipline,
you know, what it takes to win, the competitiveness of it.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
That all translates to life in just so many areas.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
And it starts at home. Yeah, being a good parent matters.
I know sometimes it's really hard. Parenting is not easy,
but it's hard, Boots, your favorite part about parenting? Would
you rather now that you're a grandparent too, would you
rather be a parent or a grandparent that's easier? He
didn't even hesitate, Jill Diddy, No, Well, don't get any
ideas coaching.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
I enjoyed coaching. I enjoyed knowing all our friends, watching
them all grow up, watching them be successful. I will say,
out of all the kids I've been involved with, one
of the happiest moments of my life. So when I
get a Facebook message or a call that the other day,
you said something to me when I was in fourth grade,
and you are right, because the things you teach these
young men and women growing up, it really pays off.

(05:06):
And that's that's that's my high is finding out to
actually help somebody.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
I would say this, be there for your kids no
matter what. I will never regret, like you said, staying
home with them. It's not easy, great, but I will
never forget those years and I feel like they if
they turn out to be great kids.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I'm wanna take all the credit. If they turn out
to be little craps, I'm going to take all it.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Right.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
It is so important to be there for every stage
and age of your life.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
So you're going to do the rest of the show, right, Yeah,
we're gonna want to talk about next fun.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Look who just walked in, Miss Meghan and a. You
and I are going to be out together on Thursday.
Tell people about that. Okay, you can do.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
It all next hour Yeah for sure.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
All right, thanks so much for listening to everybody. We're
up against a break. Camy and I are off to
Indian Lake. Jill, thanks for being in boots even though
you were sticking around.

Speaker 3 (05:51):

Speaker 1 (05:51):
