Speaker 1 (00:02):
This all went way fast. Mindy, this two hours you're
not here, but it still goes fast.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
I'm so jealous of not being there. I'm so jealous
of you today because you've totally got to see all
of our friends and it was the two hours that
flew by it.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Did you are back in town next week? Yes, because
that team up north is down here to play the
softball team.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah. And really, everybody listening, please go out to Buckeye Field.
There's only two more chances to see this nationally ranked team.
They're still in the top twenty five. They're leading the
country and most home runs hit across the board. We
just reached more than one hundred home runs this weekend.
As a team like that is incredible what they have done.
(00:46):
And speaking of Ohio State sports, how fun for the
football team they get to go to the White House
tomorrow and meet President Trump. You know that is an
honor for whoever is in the office to be able
to go as a young college athlete to go to
the White House.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yeah, it's something they will never ever forget. You talked
about making history earlier and Reagan, but Cammy's making some
history for the softball team herself. She started what two
hundred games? Is that where we're at right now? And
only one other Buckeye has started more back in the nineties.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
No there, I think she's like one of nineteen girls
who have had two hundred games, Okay, but to start consecutively,
like that's what it is. It blows my mind. Mikayla,
I never ever, ever would have guessed that. If you
got to remember, and I know you remember the journey.
When she started out as a freshman, it was toward
the end of COVID, so she had to get tested
(01:43):
once a week, you know, and if one time both
of her roommates had it, well, she gonna have to
sit out because you had. There's just so much turmoil
with COVID. And then she was injured her freshman year. Yeah,
but she still played through it. And then she broke
her nose last year. Yeah, still didn't miss a game.
Six more than two hundred games. To be a consecutive
(02:05):
starter is amazing to me. That's her passion though. She
wants to be on this team. She wants to be
on the field, and she's done everything she can to
get that done.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
That's the word I was missing, consecutive because I saw
you tweeted that earlier and some gallisons hasn't been done
since the nineties or something like that, which is like
before I was in college and right after you were
out of college, Mindy. So it's been a minute since
this has happened.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, yeah, I mean think of this softball season is long,
all the games you play, you can get sick, you
can get injured. Anything can happen. But a knock on wood,
you know. I don't want to jink, sir, but to
not miss one game as the Ohio State starting shortstop,
that's crazy to me. We never ever would have guessed that.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Ever, wild, wild and so awesome. I'm planning on coming
out to Buckeye Field Easter Weekend. I know, tickets you
guys gotta get. I mean they they're there at the door,
but they could be sold out. That's the problem, right, Mindy,
that is the problem.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah. And Merrily Melendez, you've met Mary Lee. He's the
anchor of Spectrum. She has an unbelievable voice. She's going
to be singing the national anthem on Saturday. Really and really,
Ohio State and Michigan in the standings are the big
ten standings. Their neck and neck. So this series matters,
It absolutely matters. So we want to fill Buckeyefield with
(03:25):
so much scarlet and gray and sure on this team,
it's been amazing. And then after that, there's only one
more home series. That's it? Is it?
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Purdue? Am I remembering that correctly? Before that?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Right, we go to Illinois after Purdue, after Purdue, and
then right so that'll be you're right, that will be
her last home games ever, and then they have one
more Big Ten series and then it's the Big Ten Tournament,
you know, and they can really make some noise this
year and if they keep rolling. They didn't make the
NCAA Tournament the last two years they made it Chim's freshman,
(04:00):
but they have such a good shot of making it
again this year. What more can you ask for?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
You can't. You can't ask for more vibes, prayers, and
our presence is with her no matter what you do
this week, guys, spend some time doing what matters, what
matters
