Speaker 1 (00:00):
Credit in the world for him and his wife taking
care of Charlie Kirk's children right now while his wife
is dealing with so much. Just took them under their
belt and to become a good humanitarian. And it doesn't
matter if you're a politician, It doesn't matter if you
own a company, if you're a teacher, if you're a veterinarian,
if you're a TV anchor, news personality on the radio,

(00:21):
it doesn't matter. What matters the most is that you're
a good human You're good to your fellow neighbor, You're
good to the person that you know or that you
don't know. That's what life should really really be about.
And I hope that that's what people will walk away with.
It's a true testament to Charlie Kirk's life when you
look at his death and the thousands and thousands of

(00:43):
thousands of people who wanted to be there where there
was an overflow because they wanted to be part of
this movement and show their love of the man that
I bet three fourths of them never met.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
And then I think of the millions of people who
didn't have Charlie klirk Kirk's platform and are amazing people,
and we had some of those folks out here today
who have their own platform and are doing really great things.
We have been at live at the Dublin Pet Fair.
Doctor G is back with us.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Doctor G.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
There are some people with some amazing hearts and amazing
helping hands that we saw here today.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Everything, everybody is so amazing, and you know everything, like
we mentioned before, it may be directly or indirectly, but
they're supporting animals and animal causes. So we're super grateful
and thankful for everybody that came in today.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I've always said animal people are the best people.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Absolutely, there's a special place in people's heart when they
can learn to love something that's not human.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah, no, absolutely, And you know were there's a lot
of political turmoil and everything else, but one thing is
animals are a bipartisan thing, right exactly?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Man, Amen, I mean you.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Can't say this animal is a Republican or a Democrat exactly.
Can you imagine life like that for humans?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Well, and politicians come together for animal call. You know,
you have a lot of causes that are only one
side or only the other, but then you get animal
causes and you see both sides coming together. It's like, yeah,
we'll fight about everything, but not about the dog.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
We all love the.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Dog because it's unconditional love. Absolutely with our animals, unconditional love.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I've always said, if people were more like dogs, oh
my gosh, this world would be so much better. So
were you happy with everything today? How many different vendors
did you have?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
It?

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Is it growing each year? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
We had over a little bit over sixty vendors. This year.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
We had more sponsors than we had last year, which
is amazing because sponsors help us bring more things right,
like the lower course and that kind of stuff. So yeah,
I mean it's great and we're looking forward to what
next year is going to bring.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
So now that the pet fairs over, what's the Rascal
unit really going to be up to In the course
of the next month or.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Two more of the same.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
As far as just Spain Neuter doing wellness clinics, We've
been doing a lot of with vet students from Ohio State,
teaching them about community practice and how to be you know,
good good people overall, So doing a lot more.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Why did you originally want to do this with your life?

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Being a veterinarian is something that I mean, I never
knew anything different, so that's all I wanted to do.
But you know, I grew up in Puerto Rico and
there's always this sense of helping others, and that's just
how how I grew up. You know, when I was
in high school, I started working at a veterinary clinic
and they taught me a lot.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
So then it's like pay it forward.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I became a VET and then it's my chance, my
turn to teach other people. And because I grew up
seeing people giving, giving and getting, then I just want
to give back.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
What made you decide to come to the United States
to do it?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I mean I went to Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
I went to Michigan State for under red and then
I went to Ohio State for VET school.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
And then she saw the light. She said, forget these spartans.
I want to be a Buckeye.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I know. And I did leave for a year. I
went to Missouri for a year, but I came back,
Well you did, yes.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Yeah, I went to the University of Missouri for an
internship and yeah, and then I came back to Ohio
and I just stayed.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
And you started. I mean, I remember, back in probably
two thousand and nine is when I would have met
doctor g twenty ten. When did you start Rascal unit two.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Thousand and six, So it was the same year that
my son was born. So my son was born on
February ninth, and Rascal was born March fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Of two thousand.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Oh my god, so that how much it's grown. Yes,
did you name your son Rascal?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
No? No, no, Brandon Thomas, I wouldn't do that to him.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
And then I just learned something from you today and
I had no idea, but we have known each other
for years as well, just because of interviewing you. Your
sister is like a famous actress.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, growing up, she was very famous in Puerto Rico
and she's still in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Everybody pretty much knows her.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
And she does a lot of like producing and TV
shows and that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
So, yeah, I grew up in.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
TV studios because she's eleven years older than me. So
I was always just a little rug rat following her own.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
And she was in telenovellas, is that correct?

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yeah, that is correct.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, she was doing that for a really long time
in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Which is their vers soap operas, right exactly.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah, but you got to be on the big screen too,
or the TV screen. Tell everybody that story.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Yeah, I know so because I was so much younger
than her, I was playing her when in flashbacks, I
would play her when.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
She was a little kid. So yeah, so I grew
up just being my sister.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
When isn't that funny? Like that's really hilarious.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, did you have to act?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Did you want to act at all? Did you think
about that route?

Speaker 4 (05:24):
I loved acting, and I did theater and I did
mini series and I did a lot of stuff. But
I got to a point where I had to choose
between animals and acting, and I chose to do animals
and them. I'm really glad that I get to do
things like this or the podcast that I do, the
Animal Welfare Junction, or you know, all the different things
that I can use that acting bradground, and you know,

(05:46):
to share the message of animal care and welfare with
the public.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Tell everyone again about your podcast and where people can
get it.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah. The Animal Welfare Junction is a podcast that is
about education and there's a lot of forensic stuff, but
there's also things like how to take care of your rabbit.
There's a lot of different things like wildlife animals and yeah,
anywhere that people get their podcasts, they can find it
by searching for the Animal Welfare Junction And there are
some episodes that are on YouTube as well, so they
can see video on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
We're so grateful that you invited us out here today.
It was neat to meet so many people with interesting stories.
Everybody has a story, and that you brought everybody together today,
So thank you so much for that.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Hey, thank you guys for being here. This is amazing.
I mean, you guys are big animal supporters and I
just really appreciate you being here.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Your biggest message that you want to leave the day
with is it about spaying and neutering or is it
just about having a heart for animals. Your number one
message right now would be.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
What I think, it's caring about the family unit, including
the animal. Right, animals are part of our family, so
we need to see everybody as a unit. That human
animal bond is so important. So instead of you know,
worrying about well the dog or the cat or the person,
let's worry about everybody together. Let's care about everybody in
the family.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
The unit, Rascal unit, doctor g thank you. In the
sun is coming out.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
I know, can you believe it?

Speaker 1 (07:10):
It's been so darn dry, like drought ish for so long.
She plans this pet fair and then it rains kind
of toward the end of it, but it kind of
cooled everybody off, I know.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
So I mean, and we do need the rain, so
I am grateful for the rain. I just wish I
would have waited an hour, but.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Just one more hour, three.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Hours of well, absolutely same thing.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Next year, we're gonna have the five K raise in
the morning and then the fair in the afternoon like today.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Great, okay, thank you, doctor g. Thank you to all
of you who tuned in today and listened to the
show live from the Dublin Pet Fair. And no matter
what you do this next week, what Monday

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Spend some time police doing what matters
