After more than 60 years of environmental activism, does David Suzuki still have hope for the future of our planet? David Suzuki’s ongoing mission of climate action has been nothing short of remarkable. He is an environmentalist, educator, science broadcaster and arguably Canada’s most recognizable voice for nature. David Suzuki gave a voice to the voiceless via hosting CBC’s The Nature of Things from 1979 to 2023. In 1990, he launched the David Suzuki Foundation whose current mission is to protect nature’s diversity and the well-being of all life, now and for the future. He’s published more than 50 books and in 2007, was named one of the most innovative and influential protectors of the planet by Time Magazine.

Dr. David Suzuki joined Earth Day Party hosts, Shannon Burns & Sarah Christie and shared a poignant message of human impact on the Earth. He offers a powerful reminder that humans are part of nature and encourages us to get involved with our local community. In the discussion, we hear him highlight what he has learned by listening to and working with Indigenous communities. While reflecting on decades of environmental stewardship, David Suzuki also provides a simple message for us that will result in a deeper connection with the environment.
