Perquisitionnée en 2002, la ferme devient l’une des plus vastes scènes de crime au Canada : des restes/ADN de 33 femmes sont retrouvés ; Pickton sera accusé de 26 meurtres, reconnu coupable de 6 (2e degré) et condamné à la perpétuité (25 ans incompressibles). Il aurait visé « 50 » victimes.
💥 Ratés systémiques : en 1997, une survivante s’échappe et accuse Pickton, dossier abandonné ; il tuera encore pendant cinq ans. La Commission d’enquête (2010-2012) conclura à des négligences institutionnelles et à un biais envers les femmes du Downtown Eastside (DTES).
