But in the eyes of Ontario’s Premier, they are a tax grab, and he wants Ontario municipalities to scrap them. If they refuse, Doug Ford will give them a polite political nudge himself. How effective are these speed cameras at slowing down traffic in kid-friendly neighbourhoods? Once today’s drivers have passed through a school zone, do they speed up again?
