Coming back to where it all started for him and his band, Ivan Doroschuk is coming to Place Bell on July 23 as part of the upcoming Totally Tubular Festival. And Ivan gave Randy a call today to talk about his memories of Montreal and the start of the band. 

The Tragically Hip's "Up to Here" was released 35 years ago and to mark the occasion, a special box set is being released with a remastered version of the album and four unreleased songs.

The anniversary also coincides with 40 years since the band formed.

Pete Marier (in for Randy Renaud) caught up with Paul Langlois to talk about the anniversaries, his connection to Quebec, the Edmonton Oilers and his philanthropic efforts.

CHOM 97 7's Randy Renaud caught up with Nick Mason, one of the founding members of Pink Floyd. Nick discussed coming to Montreal over the years, talked about the early days of Pink Floyd and recording at Abbey Road Studios down the hall from The Beatles.

The Sheepdogs' Ewan Currie joined Randy Renaud on the CHOM 97 7 phone ahead of the band's show at Mtelus on September 22.

He discussed what it was like touring Europe, recent changes in the band and what it's like being back out on the road.

Glass Tiger's Sam Reid joined Randy live in the CHOM 97 7 studio. He opened up about some of his takeaways -- as a musician -- from the pandemic. Some similarities between a Glass Tiger song and a recent Weezer song and more. Glass Tiger is set to play the Corona Theatre on December 1.

Ayron Jones joined Randy Renaud live in the CHOM 97 7 studio ahead of his show at L'Olympia on July 21. He discussed how early age trauma fueled him throughout the pandemic, looking forward to opening for The Rolling Stones, opening for Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy and his success in France.

After escaping their homeland due to a massive tax debt, the Rolling Stones recorded their first double album in a 19th century manor on the Cote d'Azur. 45 years ago, on Feb. 27, 1977, while in Toronto to record a live set at the El Mocambo, the RCMP raided Keith Richards' hotel room and found cocaine and heroin.
