I want the opinions of the women in the room – and listening – as to whether or not I should ask out my co-worker. I KNOW everyone’s immediate answer will be no…BUT HEAR ME OUT. I’ve liked her for over five years…we knew each other through mutual friends before she started working at my office, and I always thought she was cute, we had great banter every time we hung out but she had a long-term boyfriend. They recently split up (because he is an idiot who cheated on her) and the first time I’ve seen her in-person since, is to find out that she took a job at my company (but in a different department). I’d love to start with asking her out for lunch or maybe after work drinks but I don’t want to make her uncomfortable either? What would you guys do? I don’t want to miss my chance but also don’t want to make anything uncomfortable.
Thanks,
Jonn
