You are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Period. You have nothing to offer God that will get you saved or even keep you saved. You and I both need a Savior from start to finish. Many people have a hard time believing that Christians can know with 100% certainty that they're 100% secure in Christ. But at the end of the day, what does Jesus say about this matter? That's what we'll look at today.

(00:21):
Good afternoon. If you in Indiana, you realize how gloomy it is outside.
However, I hope you woke upand that your day has not been
gloomy. I hope that you're havinga good day. I hope that you're
experiencing the joy that comes through JesusChrist, one spiritual free to the Holy
Spirit, that I think all ofus need to experience. We need to
strive to be joyful people. Somedays it can be hard to do that.

(00:44):
But I hope that by today's messageyou are really encouraged because I'm going
to talk about the security of thebeliever. I've talked about this many many
times before, but let me tellyou if you if you have ever thought
that you could lose your salvation,if you ever thought that you can mess
this whole justification up, what Godhas done to you, what God has

(01:07):
done for you as a child ofGod, if you have ever thought that
you could stop becoming a child ofGod, I want to share with you
a scripture. I want to sharewith you a scripture that proves that that
idea is wrong. I want toshare with you a scripture that proves that
once you are a child of God, you are eternally secure forever period,

(01:30):
without a doubt. You can havethat assurance on your deathbed, you can
know whether or not you are goingto heaven. And that's not based on
your life. That's not based onhow well you lived. That's not based
on how many times you went tochurch. That's not based on your giving
each Sunday. That's not based onanything other than what Jesus has done for

(01:51):
you and for me. Without furtherado, John chapter six, John chapter
six, verse third forty, Jesussays, everyone the Father gives me will
come to me, and the onewho comes to me I will never cast
out, for I have come downfrom Heaven not to do my own will,

(02:16):
but the will of him who sentme. This is the will of
him who sent me, that Ishould lose none of those he has given
me, but should raise them upon the last day. For this is
the will of my Father, thateveryone who sees the Son and believes in

(02:36):
him will have eternal life, andI will raise him up on the last
day. That is from the mouthof God telling you that those who are
given to Jesus, Jesus will withoutquestion raised them up on the last day,

(02:58):
and that they do have eternal Solet's break this down verse thirty seven.
Everyone the Father gives to me willcome to me, and the one
who comes to me, I willnever cast out. When you come to
Jesus in faith, Jesus says,I will not cast you out. Period.
Now you may think to yourself,is that true? You may have

(03:21):
someone telling you asking you is thattrue? Do you believe that? Who
cares what the other person believes. What you need to believe is the very
words of Jesus that he says righthere. And I think that's a problem
that many Christians have. They reada scripture and they think to themselves,
well, that just sounds too goodto be true. And at the end
of the day, how I lookat scripture, it better be too good

(03:44):
to be true. Because the gospelis good news. The gospel that Jesus
died, he was buried, herose again on the third day. For
us, that is good news.Knowing that when we die that we have
eternal life because of Jesus, that'sgood news. Anyway, back to verse
thirty seven, says the one whocomes to me, I will never cast
out, period. God will nevercast you out of his family. Once

(04:09):
you are a child of God.You are a child of God period.
Once you receive the Holy Spirit Ephesiansone thirteen. When you believe the Gospel,
you are sealed till the day ofredemption. You will be justified.
You will be excuse me, youwill be glorified with Christ. You are
justified right now, and there isa day of glorification coming for you.

(04:30):
Verse thirty eight. For I havecome down from heaven, Jesus says,
not to do my will, butthe will of him who sent me.
So let's get this straight. Jesuscame to this earth to do the will
of his father. That was Jesus'spurpose in this life. That is Jesus's
purpose today. But keep in contexthere. Jesus says, I have come

(04:54):
down from heaven to do my father'swill. The question is, okay,
Jesus, well, what is yourfather will? What is God's will?
Here's what he says, verse thirtynine. This is the will of him
who sent me, that I shouldlose none of those he has given me,
but raise them up on the lastday. Let me tell you something,

(05:14):
and I want to do it withlove. But I'm very passionate about
this because people who preach that youcan lose your salvation, who base it
off of their works, on theirown behavior, even though they may be
nice people, people who are sincerelyseeking Jesus. The people who preach this
stuff are preaching what I believe tobe false teaching. Not only false teaching,

(05:41):
it affects how a Christian lives theirlife. If they have to wake
up each and every day wondering whetheror not they're gonna stay saved, well,
how can they not be anxious. We're commanded in Philippians chapter four,
be anxious for nothing, but insteadpray about everything. Rejoice always in the
Lord again, rejoice. The apostlePaul says, how in the world can

(06:03):
you rejoice in the Lord always? And how can you not be anxious if
you have to wonder whether or notyou're saved every day, by how you
live, by how often you goto church, by how many good works
you're doing. This and that.Jesus says that he should lose none of
those that God has given him,but raise them up on the last day.

(06:28):
If Jesus loses one of those whocome to him who God has given
to him, what does that mean. Let's read verse forty and I'll answer
that question. For this is thewill of the Father, that everyone who
sees the Son and believes in himwill have eternal life, and I will
raise him up on the last day. If Jesus loses anyone who has given

(06:54):
him, Jesus does not fulfill thewill of God. If you could lose
your salvation, Jesus does not fulfilledthe will of God. If Jesus is
not raising you up on the lastday, if you do not have eternal
life by believing on him, thatmeans what Jesus is saying here is not
true. And I don't say thatlightly. I believe every single word that

(07:17):
Jesus here is saying here is true. This is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son andbelieves in him will have eternal life,
and I will raise him up onthe last day. What does John
five twenty four say? If yougo to John five twenty four, Jesus
says John five twenty four. I'mtrying to find it in my bible right

(07:42):
now. One second, there wego. Truly, I tell you,
anyone who hears my word and believeshim who sent me has eternal life and
will not come under judgment, buthas passed from death to life. You
have heard me preach this before,You have heard me say this before,
and I will continue to say.You believe upon Jesus Christ. There are

(08:03):
many things that happen. You receiveeternal life, you pass out of judgment
into life. Why do we firmlybelieve that, Well, not only because
Jesus said it right there, butbecause of what Romans eight verse one says.
Therefore, there is now no condemnationfor those who are in Christ Jesus.
If you're a believer in Jesus,it doesn't matter what your heart tries

(08:24):
to tell you. Period. Itdoesn't matter if you wake up one day
and you worry that you're not saved. God says that you are saved,
because there's no condemnation for you.If you know of anyone teaching that you
can lose your salvation, that youcan mess this all up, that you
can go somehow go back under condemnation, that is a false teaching. Don't

(08:48):
listen to it. Don't give itany attention. Yeah, pray for the
one teaching it. Don't have anyill will toward the person teaching it.
Don't be rude or crude or meanto the person teaching that, especially if
they're your brother or sister in Christ, because it is possible to teach stuff
that's false and still be a Christian, but nonetheless stay away from that heretical

(09:11):
doctrine. I tell you, ifyou really believe that you can lose your
salvation, your life is going tobe filled with anxiety and you're not going
to be able to fulfill the command. I'm not being anxious for anything.
I tell you what. Out ofall the books in the Bible, specifically
the Gospel accounts, you know what, the Gospel of John. In that

(09:37):
book, it's a wonderful book,he says in John chapter twenty, verse
thirty one, concerning what's start inverse thirty says, Jesus performed many other
signs in the presence of his disciplesthat are not written in this book.
Verse thirty one, he says, but these are written so that you may
believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by
believing you may have life in hisname. Period, you can have eternal

(10:03):
life today just by trusting on JesusChrist. Yes, people will add many
works to trusting in Jesus Christ.Because for them, they believe that trusting
in Jesus Christ alone is not enough. You also have to do these other
things. They are free to believethat. But I believe that the Bible

(10:31):
does not teach that. Yes,there are things that we are to do
for Jesus after we become a childof God, but we don't do those
things to be a child of God. Romans, for you are justified by
faith alone in Christ alone. Perioda Roman's eleven, verse six. You
cannot mix grace with works at all. Period. Your obedience to God cannot

(10:56):
get you into heaven. Do youknow why that is? It's because you
need a savior. From start tofinish. There's nothing you can contribute to
your salvation. There's nothing you cancontribute to your justification. All you have
are dirty, filthy hands that arebeing tainted with sin, and all you
can do is lift them up toGod and say, God, I need
a savior. Period. You're savedby grace alons, through faith alone and

(11:18):
Christ alone. From the very beginning. You are saved by grace alone through
faith alone and Christ a loan atthe very end. Period, from start
to finish, it doesn't start withgrace alone, through faith alone, and
crust alone, and then it goesto grace alone through faith plus works,
or it doesn't start by grace throughfaith plus works. You know what I
mean. You are secure in Christif you are a believer. Why because

(11:43):
Jesus's will is to do the Father'swill, and the Father's will for Jesus
is to raise those up who hehas given to his son on the last
day, to give them eternal lifeperiod John five twenty four. You can
presently have eternal life right now.And when you trust upon you Jesus Christ,
you receive eternal life. You passout of judgment and out of death,

(12:05):
and you go into the light. You want eternal life. You trust
in Jesus today. He's the onlyhigh priests that could save you from your
sins. He's all I have torely on and bank on when it comes
to eternity, and he's all thatyou have to rely on a bank on
when it comes to eternity as well. Hold fast to the security, hold
fast to the eternal security that youhave in Christ, and never budge on

(12:26):
it. If you ever come toa scripture where you're thinking, well,
how does that scripture correlate with whatI believe about eternal security. Research it.
Do your studies, but don't everlet some scripture that seems to you
know that that causes you to questionthe eternal security. Don't let that scripture

(12:50):
what's the word I want to say, Don't let that scripture get in the
way of the clear biblical teachings thatare in the Bible. It is crystal
clear that those who come to Jesusreceive eternal life and that you're eternally secure.
I'm well aware that there are otherscriptures that Christians might read say,
well, what about this in relationto eternal security. Yeah, that's why
do you sit down and you studythe Bible. But don't let that complicated

(13:11):
scripture that you're reading confuse you aboutthe clear and crystal clear, crystal scriptures
in the Bible. Hopefully that makessense. I know that was kind of
a mumbo jumbo right there, butmy point is that you are secure in
Christ. Period. Don't let anyoneknock you off your horse with that.
I hope that you have a blessedday, stay strong, and stay assured

(13:33):
as a child of God in Christ, Jesus
