Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hey, it's Jaredith with an update. I want to tell
you all about some episodes that will be coming out
soon and about a new new show. I just told
you about Apostolic Art recently, but another new show that
I launched that I think would be good for older
kids and teens. So that's a little later on. First,
I want to tell you about these exciting interviews we
have coming up on two Pentecostals and a microphone. So

(00:30):
first of all, and I've not announced any of these.
I don't think I've announced any of these officially, but
we have some exciting, exciting stuff coming up. So we've
interviewed a few people outside of our little world of
A lot of people we've interviewed have been United Pentecostal
church like us. We've gone outside of that a little
bit a couple of times with some other guests, but
I really wanted to expand and get some different perspectives.

(00:52):
And we have the opportunity to interview Pastor Samuel Rodriguez,
who is a pastor of a large church actually megachurch,
and I don't like that terminology, and I really don't
think he does either, but it's what it is. Is
Megachurch in California, and he is If you look up
Pastor Sam, you find his website and he is involved

(01:16):
in a lot of different things. He is pastor of
course of that church. It's pastor Sam dot com if
you want to go check it out. And he is
a leader in evangelical Christianity in many ways, written several books.
He is a film producer. He's been involved in a
production of several films. He is, like I said, an author.

(01:40):
You can see him on places like day Star, the
Spanish network, day Sorry Espanol on TBN. He's just involved
in a lot a lot of things. Go to his
website and check out some of the things he's done.
It's pretty incredible. Wall Street Journal named him one of
the top twelve Latino Leaders, and he was the only
faith leader on that list. He's been named among the
top one hundred Christian Leaders in America by Newsmax, nominated

(02:05):
as one of the one hundred most Influential people in
the World Betime magazine, so Charisma magazine named him as
one of the forty Leaders who changed the World. So
many many things that he's done, including starting the largest
Hispanic evangelical organization in the world, I believe, and being
an advisor to Presidents Bush, Obama and Trump, involved in

(02:27):
presidential inauguration ceremonies, just so so many things. Somebody who
has had such a big impact in so many areas.
It was interesting to get his perspective on some things.
And he also talked about his new book that's coming
out soon called Fresh Oil, Holy Fire, New Wine, Living
the Vibrant, Holy Spirit filled Life. So check that out.
That episode's coming up very quickly. That'll be out, should

(02:49):
be out in the next week or so. I also
interviewed Pastor Chase Rashad, author of a book called Seamless
What Your Spiritual Gifts Are Really For. This was an
interesting interview of Wesleyan pastor from a Kojic background, raised
Church of God in Christ and currently a Wesleyan pastor.
He is really dynamic guy who's easy to talk to.

(03:11):
I think you're going to enjoy that that interview and
his perspective on some things, especially the topic of multicultural
church and you know what it means to be truly
multi generational, multicultural and intentionally so. We also have a
couple of Apostolic authors that we have interviewed. Those interviews

(03:31):
will be released in the near future. Those are probably
going to be coming out in October. And that is
Pastor Elton Chester from Manchester, Tennessee. And he has written
two books that are currently available. One is Taking the
Kingdom and the other one is Stories and Songs, So

(03:53):
you can check those out, check out the interview, check
out his books available wherever you buy books. And the
other one is for the Christopher Grepke from New Whiteland.
He is on the ministry team there Brother Lane's Church,
really dynamic church, and he is heavily involved there. He's
author of one book that's published, one that is on

(04:15):
its way. It's an editing right now, final stages of editing.
His first book is called Kingdom Progression. It's a great
guide for anyone who's new to the church or anyone
really who's in that discipleship process, so all of us,
because it kind of lays everything out in a very
linear fashion. His new book, Putting Christ Back into Christianity,

(04:37):
I believe, is the title, if I got that correct.
It's coming out very soon, probably the next month or so,
about the time the episode releases. So keep your eyes
open for those those books. Keep your ears open for
those episodes. It's going to be a lot of fun,
and we're excited to be back. And not only back,
but we are on a roll. Today. I'm actually interviewing

(05:01):
pastor doctor Derwin Gray, who was a player for the NFL,
player for I think six years. He played for the Colts,
most of that time in Indianapolis. He played for the
Carolina Panthers for one year. He went on to become
a pastor. He is a very dynamic writer a pastor speaker,
so I'm excited to interview him. A couple of his

(05:23):
books impacted me greatly at a time when our church
was going from being an all white basically church to
being a truly multi ethnic, multicultural church. And those books
were how to Heal our racial divide And I also
read this when there was a lot of racial tension
in this country, and I think it it gave me

(05:44):
some fresh perspective. And then the other book is Building
a multi Ethnic Church. Both were incredible books. I'm really
looking forward to interviewing him. So, but we are excited
about all the things coming up and the new show
that I've launched. I told you recently about appostol like art,
but there's another one. It launched out of necessity, but

(06:05):
I think it's going to be useful and valuable to
some of y'all. Thank you so much for being part
of this journey. We're excited to be not only back,
but really on track this time. We got a good
process for getting episodes out and we have a lot
of interviews scheduled, so super excited about this. I just
launched a new project called Bible Burrito, where we take

(06:29):
all the ingredients who need to understand the Bible and
wrap them up into an easy to digest package. This
project is targeted to older kids and teens, and the
reason I created this is really out of necessity. I
did it. I'm not quite in a whim, but almost.
I turned out the first couple episodes really quickly because

(06:50):
we have a great revival happening in our local church
with older kids and teens, and I have been trying
my best to help me answer some questions, help them
and with some guidance and studying their Bibles. They're very,
very excited to be studying the Bible, but they don't
know where to start or don't really understand what they're reading.
So in the meantime until we can get you know,

(07:11):
Bible studies done for this pretty large group of new
members and get them, you know, in a discipleship and
we're working on this in our local church, but as
a stopgap measure until they are in a study and

(07:32):
consistent discipleship program, I created this podcast. So what it
does is every week a new episode comes out. It's
less than ten minutes. The first half is focused on
either a scripture or a topic and we unpack that,
and the second half is a question that gets answered
from a listener. So the first few questions have been,

(07:52):
now that I'm a Christian, should I celebrate Halloween? How
long should I read my Bible? And should I pray
when I eat? And those are all legitimate questions. And
actually that first one was a little tough to answer
considering I'm not a pastor or a parent to any
of these kids. But I thought that this would be
valuable for them to help give them some guidance when

(08:13):
they study, help them understand what they're studying, and answer
those questions that come up. So if it's valuable to them,
I thought, you know what, my original My original idea
was just to put it out there and send the
link to this group of twenty five or so kids.

(08:34):
And then I got to thinking about it, and I thought,
you know what, if it's helpful to them, it's going
to be helpful to somebody else. So I'm just going
to put this out there, let you know that it's
available if you have an older kid, probably not little kids,
but an older kid or a tween or teen that
has questions or maybe they're new to studying the Bible.

(08:57):
I think it would be extremely helpful for them. And
I'm sure there's other resources out there like this. I
just created it because I would like to do a
home Bible study with everybody in this group, but can't.
You can't do a home Bible study with a group
of three or more, and I don't have the time

(09:18):
to do twenty five individual Bible studies. The reason you
can't do three or more is it just with kids
and teens, it just turns into a mob. So some
of you have been involved in youth ministry, your children's
ministry probably understand that it's difficult. It is a difficult
thing to do. So these little short bites of kind

(09:39):
of lessons and Q and A. I think you're going
to be helpful to this group that we're working with
here and see more Indiana and then hopefully wherever you
are it can be useful to you. So I'm really
looking for feedback because I don't really know if I'm
doing this in the best way. Maybe there's better ways
of doing it, things I could do better, maybe I

(10:00):
should make it even shorter. I don't know. I'm trying
to figure this out as I go, so please reach
out and let me know. Hopefully it's a blessing to
someone you know. And Bible Burrito is available wherever you
listen to podcasts. Thank you for listening to the Apostolic

(10:24):
Art podcast. We would love for you to join the
conversation online. Let us know what you think about this episode.
Let us know about some projects that we're not aware of.
We are always looking for interesting things in the world
of Apostolic art, whether it's books, music, video, illustration, anything anything.

(10:44):
We like to promote Apostolic artists. We like to know
about what's going on in that world, so be sure
to reach out. You can find us on Twitter, Instagram,
and Facebook. On Facebook, we have a page which you
can like and interact there, but also a group where
there is some deeper interaction and a lot of conversations
going on around apostolic art. So we would love it

(11:07):
if you would join the group. You don't have to
be an artist, as long as you are either making
apastolic art or promoting apastolic art, or you have you
are a consumer of apostolic art you just love it,
so really, any of those things. As long as you
follow the rules, you can join the group and contribute,
but just try to keep it on topic and relevant

(11:29):
to the issue of apples like art. This episode is
brought to you by wood Song Publishing. You can check
them out at Woodsong publishing dot com. You can also
find them on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Their books are
available on their website as well as through Amazon and
Barnes and Noble.
