Speaker 1 (00:07):
Football fans, it's time to go on the record with
this week's matchups in pro and college football. With just
one catch. We're only interested in underdog who can keep
it close, if not pull the outright upset. Time to
find out. It's three Dog Thursday. Now here's your host, TJ.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Reeve. It is the final weekend of September for college
football and we are back wolf Wolf for three Dog Thursday.
The video show is part of the Winning Cures Everything
platform and on podcast. Thank you for finding us. I
am the somewhat competent host TJ. Reeves. Hello for my wingman,
(00:49):
my Tampa Bay brother from another mother. Hello, Jason Powers.
Back aboard as we hang on the Winning Cures Everything Platform.
Thank you again to Gary Seegers for letting us cohabitate.
We might have to increase the rent just a little
bit after struggling a bit last week, but hey, we'll
get to that a couple of moments. Brother Powers, you
ready for another huge weekend and the underdog simply to
(01:10):
cover in college football?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
You got it. This is a big weekend in college football.
You got two or three heavyweight matchups around the country
SEC Big Ten, and before we get started, I got
to give you a little shout out. You wear a
school Tampa Bay Buccaneer hat.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
First of all, Oh yeah, oh yeah, Buck.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
And two for your stepping in on Sunday for me
and Geene Deckerhoff was a little under the weather. You
did a great job with the broadcast with the thrilling
third straight buzzer beater for Faker, base Bucks, great crazy game.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words, and so many
people have sent messages, et cetera. I know this is
the NFL, but we're not foign. It's the Pigskin and
we're not foreign to this. Buccaneers are winning. They've got
a big game with the Eagles. I know we're here
to talk college football, but thank you to everybody, including you,
for your support and the kind words. As we talk Bucks,
can we say something at the top of the show,
did I or did I not? Last week? Say go
(02:04):
Tigers Go Memphis, Tigers baby with the win over Arkansas.
Who we are going to talk about again here on
three Dog Thursday in a little bit, but Memphis. Perhaps
Jason real quick before we get into the games this week,
becomes the front runner for the group of six, the
non power four conferences to get into the college football playoff.
With that win, a wild win over Arkansas, I gotta pimp.
(02:27):
I gotta rep the alma mater here with a job
that they did a great, great job by Ryan Silverfield's team,
the Nevada transfer at quarterback that played well. They are
still explosive. Arkansaw two weeks in a row tons of offense,
but turnovers and mistakes, and two weeks in a row
they had the ball needing only a winning field goal
(02:50):
and turn the ball over both times against Auburn or
against ole Miss and against Memphis. Tough for them. But
how about the Tigers and the looming game in Tampa Bay,
the game with South Florida right later in the month
of October.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Yeah, that could be the game for Obviously the winner
would have to go on to win the conference championship game,
but that game will be the I think the differentiator
as far as who will be the leader going to November,
as far as the group non Group of five representative potentially.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
And again there could be somebody else e merge out
of another conference. Probably not likely, of course. Tulane took
a bad loss to ole Miss last week, but they're
still alive, Navy still alive. Interesting. Memphis gets South Florida
as well as Tulane and Navy later in the year,
all at home. They have nothing but home games with them,
softer American Conference schedule for them. South Florida has a
(03:46):
softer schedule until they get Memphis. They have a bye
week this week that will be interesting for the Tigers
and who's who could be dangerous come college football playoff
time here at this point all right, so I'm done
pimping the times. Who are a two touchdown favorite in
our state in Boca Raton, Florida against Florida Atlantic. We
won't be talking about that. On three dog Thursday. Memphis
(04:08):
should be fine, but then again, could have some problems
down in South Florida with being able to cover that number.
Stay tuned. Speaking of covering the numbers again, we don't
run from this, We don't hide from this here. On
three dog Thursday, we were two four and one last week,
brother Powers, I know you you struggle. Things just got
(04:29):
kind of progressively worse. Nebraska was in the game with Michigan. Unfortunately,
North Carolina just did not have anything for UCF as
the game went on. They are bad I'm not trying
to beat you up, but what in the world happened
to Illinois? And we're going to talk about Indiana in
a few minutes. As Indiana your former school, your graduate school.
(04:50):
The Hoosiers sixty three points, Frank Signette's going to keep
scoring and keep scoring. We're going to talk about Indiana
a little bit now. I did hit home with the Tigers,
Purdue barely with the hook twenty six and a half
against Notre Dame, got a backdoor touchdown and then Army
had the game tied but lost in overtime, or I'd
(05:11):
have been three to zero again again in that record.
I'm not making fun of Jason in that record that
you see on the screen for the video audience. We
were two and four last week, but we're fourteen, nine
and one overall. You're still making money and the host
is still nine and three, nine and three with the Dogs,
so paycheck.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
The analyst needs to step up this game this week.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yes, yes, you're ready to pop it up. Are you
believing a little more in me that Bill Belichick's gonna
win about four football games this year after what you
saw last week? Depending? Uh, it's just it's gonna be rough.
It's gonna be rough for he and North Carolina. This
all this talk about John Gruden coming to college football.
Bill Belichick's arguably the greatest coach at the history of
(05:52):
the NFL, and look at him trying it, and look
at look at Oklahoma State. Give me a thought on
this saying Mike Gundhy doesn't look like he cares. Even
though Mike Gundy's won about one hundred and seventy five
games literally in the last twenty plus years, had multiple
ten win seasons, and I think it's kind of the
same thing. College football is not the same thing anymore,
(06:13):
and it's not for everybody your thoughts real quick.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
That's been that one's been brilliant for the last year
and a half or so with at Oklahoma State. That
that program has been going the wrong direction for a while.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Now.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
You know, Gundy's had a long run, you know, like
they always say, when a guy's been in a place
that long, the message gets stale. It's not as easy
now to generate money and recruit and all that stuff.
I think that's just a situation where he'll probably end
up somewhere else next year, maybe a similar type of
program and he's a good coach, but maybe he decides, hey,
I don't want to deal it. Maybe he does the
(06:42):
Gus mauson and I just want to be an offensive
coordinator a big program something like that.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Or I go to the pros maybe and try that
a little bit as a position coach, to work your
way back up to rehabilitate. Maybe he goes to TV.
He would be interesting on TV. We'll see that for Gundy.
All right, let's get into it. We simply need three
college football underdogs to cover. They do not have to win.
Usually it's the road team, the lesser thought of team,
(07:08):
and you will begin with an SEC team. We're gonna
have a lot of SEC theme here on the program.
Start in the afternoon with LSU and Ole Miss and
what is drawing you to the BAYU Bengals for this matchup?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
For me, it starts with I've seen LSU play some
couple of big teams already, and their defense is real.
We saw what they did at Clemson, we saw what
they did to Florida. I know Florida is not a
great offensive team, and neither is Clemson, but boy, that
has been such an improvement for what LSU has shown
on defense the last couple of years. I think that
offense is getting a little bit better each week, still
(07:44):
not great. Their run statistics need to get better. They're
one hundred and twelfth in the country in rushing, but
ole Miss is one twenty two in the country against
the run, so there's some opportunity there to get that
running game on track. I think nus Meyer is still
a really good player. We know they always have good
receivers at LSU, and I'm gonna lean on the defense here.
(08:05):
I know they are in and news out of Oxford
on Wednesday. They're not starting Austin Simmons. They're sticking with
the kid from Division two Farris State Chamberalis, who's had
a couple of good years, a couple of good weeks,
but it's not been against very good teams. I think
this is a step up in talent on the defensive side, especially,
(08:26):
and I'm gonna take LSU close last nine meetings against
ole Miss six to two and one against.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
The numbers for LSU six.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
And one against the number. I think this is a
big LSU team this year. I like LSU to win
the game out right. It's only a point and a half,
so the points probably not gonna come into play, but
I like LSU to go to the grove. Not a
night game, it's an afternoon game. Keep your head up, boys,
don't look don't look down at the scenery. LSU up
(08:58):
and take care business.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Another interesting stand. Home team has outright won the game
seven straight times in this series. So some of that
is Lane Kiffen, a little of that is Brian Kelly,
some of that as coaches before LSU won the overtime
game a year ago, remember twenty three to twenty as
they came from behind and tied LSU in the final
minute of the game somehow converting a big fourth down
(09:22):
and then won the game with a field goal in
overtime in a stop. All right, so revenge on the
mind of ole Miss. Jason Powers, undaunted says, give me
the tested by you Bengals who won at Clemson, who
also beat Florida sprinkled in here better competition. He likes
them at ole Miss. That is underdog number one. Any
final thought before we move.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
On, I have a TMZ note for you as well.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Okay, okay, Lane Kiffin's daughter is now dating the linebacker
went weeks of LSU, So really that one came out.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
This week that their Instagram official.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
I've seen her. It's Layla. It's Layla Kiffin, right, I
believe it's yeah. And what are we doing cohabitating with
the enemy this week? Stay tuned, Stay tuned on whether
any information might get exchanged there about. You know, look,
Lane loves to run the up tempo offense. That's not
(10:20):
a surprise. Defensively, they're usually not very good, so this
could be a high scoring game as well. So that's
game number one of the six on three Dog Thursday.
All right, I'm going to back up to Friday night
and begin with my first one in the desert of
Arizona TCU and Arizona State. When last we saw the
Sun Devil's thrilling last second field goal win at Baylor
(10:40):
last week to get their Big twelve schedule off the ground. Jason,
you know that I host free Plug, the tune In
Big twelve Game Day show on Saturdays. I talk a
ton of Big twelve football for the audience here on
Winning Cures. If you want more on the Big Twelve
games in the preview mode Saturday morning, free to hear
nine am to noon on the tune In platform on
(11:01):
the Big Twelve radio channel. I talked three hours a
Big twelve football in the audio preview mode before a
Big Twelve Game of the week on that channel, etc.
Tune In is the exclusive digital home for the Big Twelve.
So we talked a lot about Arizona State and Sam
Levitt and could they win on the road at Waco.
He was very composed. Jordan Tyson's one of the best
(11:23):
receivers in America. They are good on offense. They are
back at home. What am I doing? Why am I
taking TCU? This is because I like Sunny Dike's team
right now. With a veteran quarterback in Hoover, they can
run the ball. They look really good against SMU. This
is a Friday night spot conference game, you know, kind
(11:43):
of top half of the Big Twelve battling each other.
I just I like the Froggies on the road in
the spot, especially getting the hook. Give me a thought
on TCU unbeaten Arizona State, the one loss to Mississippi
State in Starkville. A thought on this, Jason.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
We saw what TCU did week one at North Carolina.
We know North Calins not great, but they went in
there and destroyed North Carolina after that first drive of
the game. You make the great comment about the quarterback,
Josh Hoover experienced. I think he's a senior. I believe
when Sonny, when Sunny Dykes has it as an experienced quarterback,
he's usually pretty good. And their defense has been better.
(12:21):
So I'm with you. I think the hook could come
into play here again. Tough emotional game to come back
from for Arizona State winning at the Gun in Waco, so.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
I'm with you. I kind of like TCU here as well.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Froggy's won the Iron Skillet game with SMU last week
at Dallas Fort Worth rivalry. That's going away now for
a while after one hundred and five meetings. They're not
playing next year or in the short term. One interesting nugget,
Gary was giving this out on Winning Curs, and we
love Gary for all the information here on his Winning
Cures previews, et cetera. Sunny Dyke's last three times now
(12:57):
as a road underdog in the Big twelve is two
to oh to one. That's what this spot is. Little
small trend again. They went to North Carolina at the
at the beginning of the year as the underdog and
bashed them This is just as a Big twelve underdog.
He's two to oh to one the last three times
(13:17):
in the spot. Our buddy Timmy b Tim Brando, and
Devin Gardner are doing the game. Devin Gardner kind of
growing on me as an enthusiastic analyst. On Fox, They've
got the game Friday Night on Fox nine Eastern, eight Central,
six Pacific time, Arizona. Still on Pacific time this time
of year. This could be a very fun game on
Friday Night. I say, froggies on this one. We rock
(13:40):
on on three Dog Thursday. While we have a moment
here on the Winning Cures Everything platform again, you see
up on the screen here that we are brought to
you by Ticket Smarter. We're gonna be telling you more
about Tickets Smarter and just a little bit here and
how to get into all these big games, whether you're
talking about TIMP for Friday Night, we've already talked about
Ole Miss and some of the other big games we're
gonna be talking about. And the promo codes are right
(14:02):
there on the screen for the video audience for you
to save with WCE ten or WCEE twenty, depending on
how much you're spending. Jason we keep saying to the audience,
you're not going to get into these better games at
Happy Valley for Penn State, Oregon, Arkansas, Notre Dame they've
never met. Are you kidding me? You're not getting in
for two tickets in the lower level the better seats
(14:23):
for under three hundred bucks. I mean they are that pricey. Alabama, Georgia,
Who are we kidding all?
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Next Weekend, Florida State, Miami Primetime next.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Ye, same kind of thing. You're not getting in for
the cheaper price. Use the promo code WCEE twenty. Use
it as much as you want and save think Smarter,
Ticket Smarter, get in the game with ticket Smarter and
the mobile app or ticketsmarter dot com to save, and
the promo codes are right there on the screen. As
we rock on on three dog Thursday. All right, let's
(14:53):
continue use it for the Buck Buccaneers and the Eagles
in the NFL. That Baltimore Chiefs game has got had
some of the luster off of it, But use it
for that as well. Boys Packer Boys, Packers, Hello, yeah,
all you big twelve people that are watching. That's right.
Micah Parsons returns to Dallas on Sunday Night. Used WCE
twenty and take twenty bucks off. Use the promo code
(15:14):
as much as you want. College football, NFL Baseball playoffs,
all of it with ticket smarter. Back to the college
games here and you're gonna stick in the SEC. This
is the same time for the LSU Ole Miss game
on another ESPN platform, will be Auburn at Texas A
and M. Auburn getting six and a half? Jason, what
(15:37):
drew you to the Auburn Tigers tough losers against the
Oklahoma Sooners last week?
Speaker 4 (15:42):
If you had Auburn last week plus the six and
a half, that was a horrific.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Beat at the end off safety with the safety when
Oklahoma basically rushed one guy on the last play and
that one guy created the safety to make the goat
from five to seven. And now you no longer cast
your ticket with Auburn. Here's what I'll say about Auburn
this week. I think I was encouraged by what Alburn
(16:06):
I saw at Auburn. I know they gave up a
bunch of sacks and I get that, but I was
encouraged with the fight. They got the bad end of
a couple of whistles from the officials. There was a
couple of calls in that game that were very dubious,
and you know, we talked about the idiot, the high
out play that turned to a touchdown. There was a
catch on the sideline that was debatable and all that.
(16:29):
But I liked what I saw out of Hugh Freeze.
They kept their composure in a rough environment in Norman.
They're back on the road again in Techs at College Station,
who came off the big win two weeks ago at
Notre Dame. The Texas A and M defense is not
as good as his Oklahoma defense. The Auburn defense is
pretty good. Would they shut down John Mattier for most
of that day? Marcel Reid is a really good quarterback
(16:51):
who played really well in South Bend. But I think
six and a half is just too many here. I
think this game is very close. I think Auburn could
this game out right coming off the emotional loss last week,
and I think Hugh Freeze is finally starting to get
it together here.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
But you got to win one of these games. If
your Hugh Freeze, you can't keep losing close.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
I'll take Auburn in the six and a half, keep
it close, don't be surprised if they win the game.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
I have a trend here backing this again. We love
this on the Winning Cures Everything platform. Did you know
to further back your play, the Texas A and M
is only one in seven ATS in their last eight
games at home? Now, not all of that is Mike Elko.
I don't think because A and M's only played two
this year. Did they play six? They maybe played six
(17:38):
seven games? Maybe it's all Elko. One in seven in
the last eight games for the Aggies at home, one
in nine. By the way, overall against the number against
an SEC team, one in nine in the last ten
games for Texas A and m ats. So this leans
(17:58):
the way of Auburn again. You're big in the officiating world.
Jason does a great job as an official in the
Tampa Bay area as a high school official. You're big
on the rules. You know a lot of SEC officials.
Do we know if they are going to do anything
with the crew from the Auburn Oklahoma game after the
SEC took the rare move of publicly blasting them for
poorly officiating a touchdown trick play that Oklahoma ran that's illegal,
(18:24):
they reprimanded publicly in a statement. But are they going
to reprimand the crew, because what Oklahoma did is they
snuck a player over to the sideline who did not
check out of the game, who just stood over by
the sideline near the coaches, and he was the player,
and he was the eleventh player, and at some point
(18:44):
he's got to walk back in across the numbers to
give the defense some idea. He's still on the field,
he's still playing. He did that at the last second
and got set before the snap, and they snuck him
wide open down the sideline. The coaches have been learned
about not doing this. Oklahoma did it as an underhanded
thing on purpose. The refs missed it. And so do
(19:07):
we know anything more about that at the moment, anything
at all.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
I've not heard that they've been suspended.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
It would not shock me if one of these bye
weeks coming up that that crew doesn't get a signed.
I don't know if they'll publicly say that, but it
wouldn't surprise me if somebody on that crew or the
whole crew, you know, they don't typically suspend an entire crew.
Might be a particular guy, but we'll see. I've not
heard anything publicly. They're suspended anybody. But it wouldn't shock
(19:33):
me if if somebody were to get the referee or
the crew maybe gets you know, in one of these
bye weeks, doesn't get assigned a game.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
All right, and again we should make mention there are
certain rules about substituting, like, for example, you can't have
twelve or thirteen people in the huddle on offense and
then just run two guys off the field where defenders
have to run out with them, run wide and then realize,
wait a minute, that guy's going out of the game.
That's an underhanded thing. There's just different stuff. So that
(20:00):
that came from the Auburn Oklahoma wild win back last week.
All right, let's continue. I'm gonna shift from the SEC
to the big ten. Let's talk Iowa Indiana. Now we
could go brother Powers. You were against the Indiana Hoosiers,
as we made reference to at the top of the show.
They destroyed Illinois largest margin of defeat in the history
(20:24):
of Illinois football to go down by fifty three points
last week, sixty three to ten.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
It was seven to seven at one point.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
The good news is it was close early. The bad
news is they played the last three quarters is what
you're telling me or so of the game. All right,
So why am I going at them? Well, I got
two things working for me. I got Kirk Farance of
Iowa at home here Indiana coming to them, and I'm
really surprised. I don't care how bad Indiana rolled Illinois
at home. I'm surprised that line is that significant. As
(20:55):
Gary was saying, I keep propping him up on the
winning cures everything platform that Iowa's pass offense is not good. Now,
they did win the game with Rutgers. A lot of
it was running. They got a couple of key turnovers.
They beat Rutgers at Rutgers when last we saw them
last Friday night. I just I think this is too
many points. The line is because of Iowa's offense. I
(21:17):
think this is too many points for Farance and Iowa
at home in this matchup here with Indiana again, you
tried this and it was poison. You get one last
chance to talk me out of the poison here for
Iowa and Indiana coming up on the Peacock app by
the way from Iowa City at three thirty eastern two
(21:39):
thirty Central time.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Any final thought, Signetti and Indiana could do no wrong
last week.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
I think Mendoza had five touchdown passes, yeah, and two
in completions. I think that might have been the number five,
only two incomplete. I mean he was played great again.
Easier to play really good at home for sure. That
was a juiced up, crowded in Bloomington again. Iowa City
is always a tough place to go play. Farens has
always been. Their defense has always been pretty good. They're
(22:08):
not elite this year, but they're always pretty good at home. Gronowski,
this is gonna be a time of possession kind of game.
Milk the clock like you saw Monday night against Baltimore
and Detroit Bolt Detroit really tried to utilize the clock.
I think you'll see a lot of running plays out
of Iowa. Use that forty second play clock, minimize the possessions.
And I'm with you, I think the seven and a
(22:30):
half is a little rich for me. I would take
Iowa too. And Gronowski, you know, he's a kind of
a banger, runner up, the gut, kind of guy. Special
teams is always the thing Iowa was good at. I
think they scored on special teams last week at Rutgers
so whether it's a block, punt, kick return, something like that,
I think Iowa needs to play from in front.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Though.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
You cannot be down fourteen to nothing here in this
game and expect to come back.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yeah, offensively, they don't have it. I would totally agree.
I always won the last seven straight straight up at
Hull home. They've been good at home where they get
this one. Indiana's eight and two in the last ten
ats as a favorite. A lot of that is Signetti. Obviously,
not all the games have been last year as a favorite,
so some of that may be a little before him.
But eight and two is compelling on that. And you
(23:17):
were mentioning about Iowa and you look they hung in
with Iowa State. We know this as well, Jason, and
Iowa State's undefeated in the rivalry game that came down
to a last second field goal. You had them and
it was a push for three dog Thursday three point
game with the Cyclones. And I'm just looking back on
that Rutgers game one more time, which again Iowa deserves
(23:37):
a lot of credit for what they were able to do.
You were mentioning on the different returns. It was a
kickoff return they returned the opening kickoff, by the way,
for a touchdown. They are going to make a play
or two in this game with their defense or special teams.
I'm with you. Give me the Hawkeyes plus the seven
(23:57):
and a half. Saturday afternoon, it is three Thursday. We're
here for a little bit more on the Winning Cures
Everything platform. Again, make sure you're subscribed to make sure
you hit the like button here on Gary's platforms with
the video show airs. If you're only hearing us on
the podcast, come see the video. Search three Dog Thursday
on YouTube. Search Gary's Winning Cures Platform, Winning Cures Everything
platform to see us. If you are watching us, take
(24:20):
us again in your ear AirPods, earbuds, in the bluetooth
and listen to three Dog Thursday as well through Applespreaker, Spotify, etc.
All right, give me underdog number three. Are you going there?
Going to Happy Valley and going against the home team.
This is an ESPN College Game Day pregame coverage, but
(24:41):
it is a nighttime game that will be on NBC
in primetime for the Big Ten coverage. Oregon at Penn
State rematch the Big Ten title game one by Oregon
a year ago. Last year is last year. Thoughts Jason
on why you like the Ducks in this Big Ten matchup?
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Quick question before we get to that, how surprise you
from a media perspective, ESPN, with affiliated with the SEC
is not going to Alabama Georgia. They're going up to
Happy Valley, and Fox Big Noon isn't going to Happy Valley.
They're going to Champagne for usc.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Usc and Indiana for them. Yeah, because it doesn't seem
to make any sense. Because they're so heavily invested ESPN
in the Southeastern Conference. They've got the triple header, the
two games leading into Alabama and Georgia. You would think
they would be there. They're I guess, electing to spread
it around here and give the Big Ten some love
even though they don't televise it. The answer to your
(25:38):
question is, yes, I'm surprised. I think the Alabama Georgia
game will probably have head to head at least two million,
maybe three or four million more because of the lead.
Ind then this game it's a bigger it's a bigger
viewership game, is what your point is. But still, nonetheless,
this is an important early season game and it's yet
another test for James frank Inklin against the top ten
(26:01):
team pick it up, Jason.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Four and twenty is James Franklin against the top ten
as the head coach at Penn State all time four
and twenty, which will probably about four and twenty against
the number because he's probably been favored a lot of
those games. I know he's had to play some other
other years where Michigan Penn State, I mean Michigan Ohio
State have been favored. I get that, but still four
(26:25):
and twenty. The reason why, a couple of reasons why
I'd like Oregon here. I am not a believer in
Drew Roler. He looks the party six', four he looks
the prototype, quarterback but WHEN i see him process, INFORMATION
i don't see he's not a very accurate. Quarterback this
is kind OF i JUST i don't LOVE i don't
Love Drew rallery. Quarterback The Penn state receivers they have
(26:47):
not been they even notoriously not been very good the
last couple of. YEARS i know they brought in a
couple of transfers and improved that position, Group but UNTIL
i see him do it against a big, OPPONENT i
don't Believe Dante, Moore Who's Duntey moore he's the quarterback For.
Oregon he's sat a year Behind Dylan. Gabriel he was
a big recruit out OF. Ucla you win Against Dantey
(27:08):
moore a couple of weeks ago With Oklahoma.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
State he is he puts sixty nine on the.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Board, destroyed Destroyed Oklahoma. State So i'm a. Believer i'm
a believer in what they can do, offensively and they
blew Up Oregon state last. Week but now this is
on the, Road.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Jason But Dan, lanning we Know Dan lanning with His georgia.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Roots he has put together the guys in the trenches
offensive and defensive, lines WHICH i think will be very
key in this.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
GAME i do. AGAIN i Think oregon has.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
RECEIVERS i Think Dante moore's mobility will be a factor
in this. GAME i know it's a whiteout game and
that's probably playing into, this But i'll take three and
a half all day.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
LONG i think the hook could come into play.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
Here this will be a very competitive, game back and
forth kind of, game But i'm gonna Take. OREGON i
Think oregon's kind of been the sleeping giant this. Year
nobody's really talking About. Oregon if you look at The
Heisman trophy number on. Draftings Dante moore is at the
top of that. List now That John mattire is out
a month with a hand, injury keep an eye On Dante.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
MOORE i Like.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
DANTE i know it's his first big road, game AND
i get, it but give me The ducks plus the
three and a half to Send James franklin to four
and twenty.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
One. Wow And Dan lanning again has been a money
coach in these big games as the Former georgia briefly
defensive coordinator for a few years and now he's been
out At oregon what about three seasons they come on the.
Road this was a game that was in the eighties
in points scored a year, Ago SO i don't know
if we're gonna get to. That Dylan gabriel again was
The oregon. Quarterback he's going on to THE nfl with
(28:40):
The Cleveland browns as a. Backup let's see if we
get fireworks and a lot of points. Here you mentioned
the white. Out Is oregon gonna get rattled like they
rattle other people At Eltson stadium And? Eugene are they
gonna get rattled by? That in the true road? Game
jason says New Quack quack Go ducks or again in
The big ten matchup With Penn State Early. Sea he's
in huge matchup for. Them all, right one more underdog for.
(29:04):
Me you Mentioned alabama And. Georgia i'm gonna go right.
THERE i think this is off the bye Week alabama At.
UGA i got a couple of things in my. FAVOR
i Know georgia is, good BUT i got A kaylin
de boor win a year ago in the rivalry. Game
remember they were blowing Out georgia in the first. Half
great comeback By Carson beck and company put the, GAME
(29:26):
i believe either into the final minute When alabama, scored
was at the. Overtime if they scored either, way it
became a much closer game in the second. Half But
alabama won it at home And kaylen de bor made
a lot of friends and shut a lot of people
up a year, Ago so in some ways he kind
of needs. This how About? Alabama and all of this
Was Nick saban before last Year alabama's nine and one
straight up in the last ten games Against georgia as a.
(29:49):
Program saban was eight and one Against Kirby. Smart Primarily
Kirby smart barely got a game off of. Him it
was the national championship win in The College Football, playoffs
the only game That georgia has. Won saban also got
a national title win Against georgia And Kirby smart as
well in that. Stretch but this is, Uh they're gonna
be hyped Up georgia for this. GAME i get three
(30:11):
and a half, here both teams off of bye. WEEK
a thought or Two jason on three Dollarg, Thursday Bama.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
GEORGIA i think one thing you're gonna see is you
see you've really seen an improvement out Of Ty simpsons
since That Florida state. Game Ryan williams is, back who
had the concussion in The Florida state.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Game he's.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Back and did you watch two weeks ago In knoxville
that secondary For georgia get torched By joey by Agi
are From. Tennessee she probably should have won the. GAME
i would be concerned there from That georgia secondary again
the board two weeks to him And Ryan grubb to
draw some plays on the offensive. Side If alabama can Protect,
(30:48):
SIMPSON i think this is gonna be a really good.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Game.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Again this is gonna be a prime. Time, yeah this
is a primetime. Game it's gonna Be fouler In Herb,
STREET i, believe yep. So and who can run the?
BALL i think Jam. Miller they're starting running back For
alabama's finally coming, back so he's now going to be
back in the. Mix who can run the ball better
typically wins this. Game and again we Saw Gunner stockton
(31:11):
with a huge throw on fourth and six Against, tennessee
that beautiful throw to keep them in the game to
tie the game up, late.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Or a touchdown over the shoulder for a touchdown In,
knoxville they got out of there by the hair on
their Chinning Chin chin two weeks, ago so both teams
off the bye. Week simpson again was what thirteen or
fourteen passes in a row he completed at one point Against,
wisconsin he looked much. Better caitlin de Bor gary was
giving the stat AND i believe it is twelve and.
Two he is twelve and two in the last fourteen to.
(31:44):
Boor as an underdog IN fbs games twelve and, two
he's been the underdog some At, washington the underdog some At.
Alabama stay tuned here for this matchup With. Georgia in prime.
Time and, again it's not so much end of your
season type stuff if you're losing these regular season, games
(32:04):
because THE sec will get three teams probably The College Football,
playoff if not four. Teams, jason it's not the be
all end, all but this is, big big for both of.
Them one more.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Time this will be a huge win for De bor
to get again all the all the skeptics off his
back a little bit after The florida stake, game and
it would keep you off of two. Losses If alabama
lose this, game they'll now have two losses and.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Not a lot of wiggle.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Room Where georgia loses this, game both teams will still
have one loss and some wiggle room to lose another
game because you, know if you look at That alabama,
schedule it's not. Easy you still got some losable games
down the. Road but, big big game here For, alabama
And Chris stewart will be on the ball there for
The Crimpton. Tide so shout out To Chris. Stewart should
(32:45):
be enough.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Squatsic it, Happens, Yeah bamasbama's got the games obviously WITH,
lsu With auburn And tennessee limbing, later on in the
year as. Well all, right final few moments after we've
given you those, games what About arkansas and this noon
showdown Against Ore WOULD i have won money on a trivia.
Question they've never. PLAYED i couldn't believe that double. Check
darry was talking about. It they've never met even in
(33:08):
a bowl. Game Notre dame comes To arkansas in the
first of a home and home. Situation arkansas returned the,
game obviously To South bend at a later. Date arkansas,
again two heartbreakers were Against Ole miss And. Memphis they played,
Well they had the ball with a chance to win
the game with a field goal and missed the field
goal late Against Ole miss and then fumbled away another
(33:30):
opportunity late and then Against memphis in field goal, range
coughed it up late in the game And memphis was
able to run the clock out in the thirty two
to thirty one. Win all, right now they're back, Home they're.
Hyped Notre dame Obviously clawbert perdue in a bounce back
for their first. Win any Thoughts jason On arkansas getting
four real quick at, Home.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Notre dame having defensive. PROBLEMS i THINK. Cj carr is
getting better and better For.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
Notre dame each.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Week Taylor, green who he, knows a good. Player you
saw him in live last week against Your Memphis. Tigers
he And. Patrino they know how to move the. Ball
but Meant arkansas's defense is not very. Good they're very
average at. Best, MAN i Know Notre dame ain't, great
BUT i would be careful here Because Jeremiah love and all. That,
yep be careful here with the running, attack high scoring.
(34:18):
GAME i don't have a true opinion on this. Game
higher scoring. Game both teams will probably getting the high,
twenties low. Thirties how will That arkansas crowd be a?
Factor who? Knows but in an important game For Sam
pittman as, well don't get you can. Lose don't get blown, out.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
True Because pittman is on the hot seat a bit
In Notre, dame trying to get back in the conversation
for the college football playoff because remember they've taken two
losses to start the. YEAR i Know miami is really
good on the, road but they also lost To TEXAS
a and m at. HOME i, mean we could be
talking about a one in Three Notre dame. Team If
arkansas pulls this upset and then they're in Big trump
are out probably so one more back it up To friday,
(34:59):
Night Florida. State it is on A friday night spot

Speaker 2 (36:24):
W speaking of this and speaking of my, colleagues The barber,
Brothers tiki And Ronde, barber they go back to that
thirty year ago. Upset tiki that night had over three
hundred all purpose yards, receiving rushing and on punt returns
in the. Game The Barber brothers were a huge part
of that win thirty years Ago friday.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Night some of those players in the, building they may
be honoring.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Them they may be honoring, them honoring that team they
