Speaker 1 (00:07):
Football fans, it's time to go on the record with
this week's matchups in pro and college football. With just
one catch. We're only interested in underdog who can keep
it close, if not pull the outright upset. Time to
find out. It's three Dog Thursday. Now here's your host,

(00:27):
TJ Reeve.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
All Right, folks, welcome back into the latest edition of
three Dog Thursday, the show and the podcast. I am
the somewhat capable host, TJ Reeves. He is Jason Powers
of the Powers on Sports Podcast, filling in for Gary Seegers.
You see Gary all over the platform, Winning Cures Everything
and the Winning Cures Everything YouTube page right now. He's

(00:53):
tied up on these Thursdays, so I keep going to
the bullpen. I'm going back to brother Powers. I love
his insight, I love him handicapping. You find Jason on
his own pod, Powers on Sports Podcast. You also find
him with Mike Grayson Company on the press Box Radio
Show live Monday through Friday. Jason is on on Tuesdays
and Thursdays eight to ten am Eastern seven to nine

(01:15):
am Central Time.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
They talk a lot of Southern.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Football, a lot of sec ACC football, as well as
the NFL. So Jason does a great job there. He
handicaps games there, he handicaps for me on three Dog
Thursday at times, and he's available to come hang with
me here as we get through mid November almost Thanksgiving,
brother Powers.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Good to be back.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Here on the YouTube show on Winning Cares Everything, and
if they're hearing us on the podcast, good to have you.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
So the last time I was on with you, I
was getting kicked trying to get kicked out of a restaurant.
Remember the waitress was trying to kick me out of
the restaurant. Let me do the show. So I'm in
the home office right now today. No problems with waitresses
in an empty restaurant, No issue you did.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
You did hold up a drink with another umbrella at
one point in the teky bar area where you had
to sit and do the show. So yes, you're a
lot more formal than.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
I am today. I love that about you, and we
get into it.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So again, what we do here is underdogs in college football.
Garry does a fantastic job with everything on this platform,
Winning Cures Everything, dot Com and the platforms with favorites,
with totals, with first half unders team totals, whatever, he's got.
We specialize in the underdogs. I will say last week
kudos to Brian Edwards of Major Wager dot Com and

(02:32):
Vegas Insider.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
He hit with Arkansas.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
I did hit with New Mexico, an outright winner in
the upside over Washington State.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I did have one. Jason Powers contact.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Me and go New Mexico and I said, yeah, I'm
liking the Lobos. How about a ten and a half
point doggie outright winner le Bronco Mendenhall's team.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
I didn't even know he was there.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
We do gather one in every now and then on
three Dog Thursday, so we're looking to build on that
again this week. Again hit the light button if you're
watching us here as we're live on the Winning Cures
Everything platform. Also subscribe follower, subscribe to the podcast feed.
If you're seeing us, you can take us with you
in your AirPods, your earbuds, in your car, Bluetooth. Three

(03:17):
Dog Thursday is a podcast. Take us in podcast form
wherever you get podcasts, Apple Spreakers, Spotify, any of those.
We love it all right, three hunderdogs from each one
of us. We don't have any overlap this week. Brian
and I had I believe one overlap last week, and
it was Houston who was a disaster against Arizona on
Friday night. We've eradicated that from our memory banks, so

(03:39):
you and I do not have any overlap. Jason Powers,
where do you want to begin? You get first DIBs
on an underdog? What do you like and why?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I'm going to the big game, Big Fox, Big twelve o'clock,
Big Fox, Columbus, Ohio, the game of the week. Everybody
wants to know is Indiana for real? If Indiana loses
by how many can they lose by and still be
in the in the in the playoff hunt Ohio State.
This is a statement game for them as well. They
need to establish themselves as a legit one or two

(04:08):
top three in the country. They still have a chance
to win the Big Ten and potentially be the number
one overall seed with a potential Big Ten championship matchup
with Oregon. The number here is thirteen, I believe is
the number that we're dealing with.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I actually see thirteen and a half. I'll yeah, I'll
give you the hook on a Thursday afternoon, on three
dog Thursday.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
What a story? And you full backdrop. You have an
Indiana background in Indiana, Tai, go ahead, yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
If I got a graduate degree from Indiana, so I
spent a little time up in Bloomington. Never saw this
kind of winning when I was there, during my year
and a half that I was in Bloomington. But it's
great for that city. Obviously, we know it's a huge
basketball town, basketball state. It's great to see the football program.
I don't think they've had a record this good since
the mid sixties, maybe sixty seven.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I believe they've never won games in any regular season.
They're ten and oh right now house money going into
this game.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
They're eight and two against the number this year, which
is a great number. I mean ten and oh. They've
got Curtis Rourke. They got a really good quarterback twenty
four hundred yards, twenty one touchdowns. They got a balanced attack,
Justice Ellison run at the running back almost seven hundred yards,
nine touchdowns, got a good receiver Elijah Surat. They kicked
the ball well, haven't missed a field goal all year.
So again, game like this could be closer. Weather's going

(05:27):
to be an issue Columbus. From what I've heard, rain
some sleep, so you could have some wintry conditions up
in Columbus, which is going to make it harder to
move the ball. I just think thirteen and a half
here is too many points. I know everybody thinks Ohio
State's the better team and they might win the game,
but I just have a feeling this game is going
to be closer than people think. Here's another thing to
think about. If you're Kurt Signetti in your late third quarter,

(05:50):
early fourth quarter, let's say you're down ten points, do
you play to the clock a little bit, slow the
game down, try to lose by ten or fourteen as
opposed to going for it and maybe get blown out
by twenty four Because a ten or fourteen point loss
to the committee is gonna look better than a twenty.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Four point loss.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
So that's a good point.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
You play the reverse side of things. If you're down
in the fourth quarter, slow the pace down, get out
of there with a loss, but you don't get blown out.
I just think thirteen and a half is too many
I like the Hoosiers.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
And again, big ten more than likely gonna get three.
Probably a good possibility're gonna get four teams in the playoffs.
So out of the combination of Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana.
We're about to talk about Penn State as well. Are
there enough chairs and the musical chairs here for this?
It is the big noon kickoff game, so Fox's pregame

(06:41):
show is there and College Game Day is there as well,
both in Columbus for this matchup with Indiana and Ohio State.
Jason says, underdog number one the Hoosiers here on Saturday early.
I'm gonna stick with the Big Ten. A little later
in the afternoon, the CBS National Game is Penn State

(07:04):
and Minnesota. This jumped off the page at me right away.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
What do I know?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
But I thought this would be like Penn State by
a touchdown. And I'm seeing all week eleven twelve right
now on three Dog Thursday.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
It's eleven and a half.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
A lot of places for the Gophers for this year, Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
J Fleck.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
They already have a win over USC Earlier this year,
Minnesota again narrowly lost at Michigan controversially, and now the
Big Ten came out and changed the on side kick
rule in the middle of the year after the Gophers
got jobbed at ann Arbor. I'm liking their recent success

(07:50):
was good all the way up until the loss to
Rutgers and PJ flex mentor the name that we don't mention,
that's the Rutgers coach. Before that, he had won four
games in a row. I like them, I mean ats
they're seven too and one this year only one loss
by a touchdown or more. That was to Iowa back
earlier in the year. I just think it's too many points.

(08:11):
I know Penn State's good here on this, but I
don't know that they're good enough to cover the eleven
and a half on the road. Jason, A quick thought
from you about Penn State Minnesota. While we stay in
the Big ten for a moment.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
They were my fourth pick on the list, so if
they were number four on the list of debates, and
I'm with you, I think on the road in Minneapolis,
I think that's an outdoor stadium, so the weather probably
will be an issue as well. West cold, nasty, and
you know again, I think Minnesota they always find a way.
Fleck is a good coach. They've never had great talent,
but he tends to get the most out of their talent.

(08:47):
So I like where you're going there.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
I'm looking for my game time. AC four cast temperature,
somewhere around thirty six degrees to your point in Minneapolis
and the.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Outdoor stadium and Tory Jim, I.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Don't know if he's gonna be there or not. Let's
see if Minnesota is there again. Penn State lurking as
well for the college football playoff, and I will take
Minnesota and the eleven and a half here. So we'll
take the Gophers two Big Ten games to start us
off on three Dog Thursday. All right, we rock along
with Jason Powers, TJ Reeves with you again. We're live

(09:22):
on the Winning Cures Everything platform. You see Gary all
over the platform, but do it his different updates. He
just could not be with me live again here in
the timeframe where we're doing this on Thursday afternoons. I
love the consistency of this audience. We cohabitate here.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
We love it.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
And we're just looking at underdogs in college football this weekend.
My friend, give me a second underdog and why.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Not on purpose? But I'm going to a place that
I also have a college degree from the Great State
of Alabama. We're going to Birmingham.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
We're going to UAB UAB and Rice Rice.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
This lane just stinks to me. Rice is three and seven,
UAB two and eight, Rice interim coach because apparently all
the college teams are firing, all the coaches that represent
owls are getting fired.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
That's correct.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
We have Rice, we have Florida Atlantic, we have Temple
and Kennesaw State.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
The Owls all fired their coach. So Rice with a
fired coach.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
A couple of weeks ago at Trent Dilfer and UAB
and I mean Dilf' UAB team, they've gotten rolled a
couple of times, but have they not been better a
little bit?

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Recently?

Speaker 4 (10:31):
They have been better a little bit. They've been better
at home than two. Their two wins are at home.
Rice is zero to five on the road. This line
just stinks to me. How is Rice three and seven?
I know UAB is not very good. How are they
a six and a half point favorite on the road.
I know there won't be a big crowded at Protective
Life in Birmingham. I know Delfer struggling. I will say

(10:53):
they seem to have found a quarterback. The son of
John Kittna, Jalen Kittna, the former Florida Nator, is now
the quarterback there. He's been playing fairly well the last
three or four weeks. I just think six and a
half is too many. They remember this UAB team two
weeks ago is up twenty to three on Yukon and
didn't cover seven at home. They get beat by eight

(11:14):
at home after they're up twenty to three in the
third quarter. I think, I don't think Yukon Rice is
as good as Yukon. I like UAB here six and
a half. Keep it close. I think they could win
the game out right. Just too many points for men.
I don't see how Rice is a six and a
half points favorite on the road.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
And again, Memphis blasted UAB in their last game, But
you mentioned the Yukon game was fairly close. They put
fifty nine on Tulsa. Will Kittna have the big game?
This is two Eastern on one Birmingham time, one Central
time on ESPN Plus for Saturday afternoon. You will take
the UAB Blazers of Trent Dilfer in the American Conference matchup.

(11:52):
All right, I'll continue with another underdog in a moment.
First you see on our screen, but if you're only
hearing us, let me tell you about ticket Smarter, the
ticket Smarter and mobile albs and whether you're trying to
go to that Ohio State Indiana game. Tough ticket in
the Horseshoe. Some of the other games that we're talking
about as well, like Florida hosting Ole Miss We got
the Crosstown Showdown a little earlier than it normally is

(12:13):
with UCLA USC at the Rose Bowl. What kind of
crowd will they have out there for that one. It
doesn't matter if we're talking Eugene, Oregon, Austin, Texas, Clemson,
South Carolina, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, all the way up to State
College Pennsylvania. If you're looking for tickets on the secondary
market to any of these games, use tickets Smarter the
Ticket smart mobile app, best prices on the secondary market,

(12:36):
your purchase is safe and secure, and a promo code
in this case off of Gary's platform. Used WCEE ten
for ten dollars off an order of one hundred dollars
or more. You're not gonna get I keep saying this
into these better games, these huge top twenty five matchups
that we're seeing like Indiana, Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
For example, or am.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Want to talk about Kansas at Arrowhead against Colorado coming up.
You're not getting in for under one hundred bucks with
the better seats. Use the promo code WCEE ten and
Jason Powers an audience. If you spend three hundred dollars
or more, use the promo code WCEE twenty and take
twenty bucks off the order for all of these different games.

(13:19):
Alabama at Oklahoma, for example. The Army Notre Dame game
that we're gonna talk about is at Yankee Stadium in
the Bronx. What a battle that's gonna be. We'll touch
on that again. Ticket Smarter, Ticket Smart Mobile app promo
codes WCEE ten or WCEE twenty as it applies for
three hundred dollars or more orders, get in the game.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Thanks Smarter with tickets Smarter. All right, real.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Quick, real quick. I might actually have an opportunity. I'm
gonna be in Los Angeles Saturday. I want to an
opportunity for usc UCLA Saturday.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
You gotta sneak to Pasadena for a little late time.
I use the ticket Smarter mobile app if you need
to my friend and into the game. This is good,
by the way, for the NFL, I know the NBA
has started up college basketball concerts. Use the promo codes
WCEE ten or WCEE twenty for ticket smarter and think.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Smarter with ticket smarter.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
All right, so I mentioned Kansas and Colorado, this matchup
at the Chief Stadium what is now Geha Field at
Arrowhead Arrowhead Stadium, and when last we saw Rock Chalk
stunning gut punch win, they upset BYU not only dashing
their unbeaten hopes, but Jason, they thought from you, it

(14:35):
likely nixes the Big Twelve getting two teams in the
College Football Playoff. Their hope was it not to have
BYU finish undefeated. And then even if they stubbed their
toe in the Big twelve title game hypothetically with Colorado,
Iowa State, whomever, there would still be an argument that
their only loss is maybe a narrow loss in the
Big twelve title game. Now, with a loss at home

(14:55):
to Kansas, who has a losing record, I don't know
the BYU can get in at large without winning the
Big twelve title game. Do you believe that Kansas upset
last week dashed the second playoff team for the Big Twelve.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
I do.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
But all here's I'll give you two teams that it
gave hope to. Arizona State now has hope to get
to the Big twelve title game with the BYU loss
and the BYU lost also potentially could hurt SMU. They
SMU needs BYU to keep winning and not lose any
more games here because SMU's only loss of the year
is to who b YU a home.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
If SMU had a chance.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Maybe for a second bid out of the ACC, potentially
they need BYU to keep on winning.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
I don't think.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
I don't think you're getting two out of the Big
twelve though. I think it's a one big league with
the strength of the SEC and the Big Ten this year.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
No doubt.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Let's talk about I mean, Deon Sanders has got the
Buffs rolling. They have covered in eight straight games. By
the way, there is a question mark about the level
of competition. Yes, give them credit for beating Cincinnati, for
winning at Texas Tech. They are better. My hand is up.
I did not think they were going to be an
eight to nine or better win.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Team this year.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
But all of us are correct to take a look
at UCF who's awful.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Turns out they're awful.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
They did win in Orlando, Arizona at Arizona Arizona is awful,
and the win over Utah last week.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
They are awful.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Three of those wins are against teams that everybody else
in the Big twelve is beating up on. So there's
nothing really to write home. Now you've got a Kansas
team off the BYU win. They also had an upset
a couple of weeks ago of Iowa State in this
same building at Arrowhead.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Here.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Jayhawks four and two in their last six against the number,
including two outright wins as an underdog with Iowa State
and with BYU. Give me rock chalk here. It's only
a three point line. I will take those three. I
know that Shador Sanders and Travis Hunter on the other sideline,

(17:02):
they're both vying for the Heisman, they're vying for the NFL.
But I mean, this is not Utah or Arizona or UCF.
There's a much better team in that with Devon Neil
at quarterback, UH with Jilly Daniels, j j o'daniels at quarterback,
Devon Neil running the ball. I like the I like
the Jayhawks. You're gonna try to talk me out of

(17:22):
this with Colorado real quick or no.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Leopold's a great coach. He does he does, He's done
a great job at Kansas. The only thing I would
worry about with Kansas is can they get can they
get their emotional level up one more time to pull
off a third straight big upset over Iowa State they
beat last week, they beat by Wonder, I wonder can
they get up emotionally? And Colorado sees the finish line
they see if they win the next two, they're in

(17:46):
the Big Twelve title game and got a great chance
to get to the College Football Playoff. Those would be
my arguments against Kansas to but you can't argue Kansas.
They were a lot of people thought they would win
the Big Twelve at the beginning of the year. They
they have just come on really late in the year
here with their true colors. Daniels is healthy now and
they're playing really well.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
And again they started to five five to five game
losing streak. I should say, oh to four to start
the Big Twelve, which is shocking. They have got to
be the best four and six team in America. I
would say at this stage with the wins over Iowa
State and BYU, I believe it continues. This is the
Fox Saturday afternoon game after the Big Noon Indiana, Ohio
State game. Give me Kansas on three dog Thursday. We

(18:28):
each have one more underdog to go. Jason, where are
you going next here with a third college football underdog?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
And why I'm going out to the Mountain West. A sleepy,
sleepy team. Not a lot of people are talking about.
Everybody's talking Boise State. People are talking unlv R, this
old sleepy team up in Colorado, up in Fort Collins.
You look up, there's five and zero in the conference,
seven and three on the season, seven and three against

(18:59):
the number. They're playing in warm weather now at Fresno
on Saturday against a five and five Fresno team, three
and three, decent team, not great, this Colorado State ram team.
They're not a juggernaut on offense, not a great offense.
They got the quarterbacks a middling player, Avery Moro running
eight hundred and seventy two yards nine touchdowns justin Marshall

(19:21):
almost six hundred yards rushing. They're gonna try to run
the ball here. Make this a rock fight kind of game.
They're getting three points. Mac Dealena averages eighteen yards to catch,
almost nine hundred yards receiving. Mikey Keane, who we know
from the UCF days, is a quarterback at Fresno. I
just think three points here, I'll take I'll take a
seven five to zero undefeated conference team getting three points

(19:44):
on the road against the average Fresno State team. Again,
they can spoil the UNLV rematch with Boise State potentially
give me the Rams plus the three on the road.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
And fascinating.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
As you talk about SMU wanting Brigham Young to keep winning,
Colorado wants Colorado State to keep winning. They have a
win at Fort Collins back in September over Colorado State
that's looking better and better and better as the Rams
continue to win there in the Mountain West. Again, how
much of an argument does Boise have, by the way,

(20:17):
if they don't win the Mountain West Championship game, I
don't know that they have an argument. But right now,
right now, they're sitting in one of the byslots for
the College Football Playoff Committee after their third rankings reveal.
So it will be fascinating with the Mountain West.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
This could be.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
A fly in the ointment. Colorado State could be the
Boise State a point. If I'm not mistaken, Colorado State
has not and will not play either Boise State or
UNLV in the regular season. The only time they would
meet them is in the title game. So let's see
you like the Rams late night, one of the last
games of the night in Fresno against the Fresno State Bulldogs.

(20:57):
And I'm gonna have one more underdog for you in
just a moment. But once again, let's talk about one
of our sponsors, and that's our friends at ghost Leaves,
Brother Powers and I are big on the ghost Sleeves
technology for your elbows, for your knees, for your calves.
If you are a weekend Warrior, Jason, as we keep saying,
if you love to play basketball, bike, pickleball, golf.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Tennis, whatever it is. I mean, Jason, I know.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Officiate, you officiate in high school football. You utilize the
ghost Sleeves as well. Again, therapeutic value here kinesiology technology
helps with the blood flow from ghost sleeves. It helps
with recovery time. It's therapeutic. We love them as a sponsor.
Find out more at ghost sleeves dot com and also

(21:47):
use the promo code WCE for a discount off of
ghost Sleeves.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
It is go time.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
And again, if you're playing a lot of people playing pickleball,
you're playing basketball. The knees ache, you're running, jogging, bank
whatever it is.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
Needs out west if you're an out West.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
The elbow if you're playing tennis, if you're a golfer,
use ghost Leaves utilize a proud sponsor here of three
Dog Thursday and the Winning Cures Everything platform and the
promo code WCEE. It is go time with ghost Leaves.
All right, one more underdog. I will give that to
you and I consternation is the right word.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
I was torn. I was. I had consternation over which one.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Do I take because I had a double digit underdog
with Army and Notre Dame.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
I'm not taking it.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
I have a double digit underdog as well with Florida
and Old miss in the state where you and I are.
We're in the state of Florida in Gainesville early, and
I am taking it. I will take Florida at home
because it's too many points. Kind of my same theme
with Minnesota against Penn State back earlier. I don't know

(22:59):
that Minnesota can win game, but give me the eleven
and a half for them at home.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Florida has been better as of late.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Monstrous schedule playing Tennessee, what Georgia, Texas Texas and then
last week LSU and now ole Miss.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Who do they?

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Who hates them from the conference office? With those five
games in a row. It's one thing if you're playing
those five teams spread out over the season with a
Vandy mixed in or a Mississippi State mixed in or whomever,
South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
In Miami at the front end of the schedule, Miami.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
At the beginning as well. All Right, so we have theorized.
Is Billy Napier on the verge of saving his job?
You look at how they handled LSU last week. They
ran the ball, They played defense on LSU with sacking
nuss Meyer and frustrating him. Alright, I know ole Miss
in off of bye week, Jason powers ole Miss when
last we saw them stuffed Georgia into a garbage can

(23:55):
in the second half and sealed the lid with a quarterback, pressure, etc.
I think Florida will run it better. You got a
more mobile quarterback in Lagway. Florida now rolling right now
at this stage, I believe they are five and one.
I think it's five and one in the last six ats.
Here they get ole Miss in an early game, and

(24:17):
I think they can hang around. Eleven and a half
is too many. Talk me out of it. You're going
to talk me out of it here on ole Miss
Florida noon on ABC noon Eastern time.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
Two things I would a couple things.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
I would note Trey Harris, their best receivers back for
ole Miss, who's been out for three or four weeks now.
He's an All American type of receiver, so I'd be
worried there.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Number two.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Last week LSU had the ball for forty one minutes,
so I worry about the Florida defense being fatigued in
this week early start, twelve o'clock start, being on the
field a ton last week. And number three ole Miss
has to win the game. There's no margin for er
for ole Miss. And they wouldn't mind a little style
points with Lane Kiffin ins, which means if they're up late,

(25:01):
they're going to cheat trying to score here to show
a little the committee, Hey, we beat Florida by We
covered the number against Florida, So there'll be the three
things I'd worry about there if I'm Florida.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
And again ele Miss with two losses, as you're talking about,
a third loss is devastating for the college football playoff,
and I know you have subscribed to the rumor mongering
that is going on. I'm not saying you're causing it,
but there's a lot out there that Lane Tiffin might
end up being the Florida coach if Billy Napier is
eighty six and gone here in this So keep that

(25:32):
back drop point blank though if they win this game.
I don't know that Florida wins this game. But if
they win this game, has he not saved his job
by beating LSU and Ole Miss.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
One thousand percent? And most people think he's gonna save
his job by beating LSU last week? You know that's
the chatter down here is he's gonna survive. But you know,
if one thousand percent he wins this game, and I
think the effort level that you've seen out of Florida
the last month has been encouraging. They haven't quit. Lagway
seems to be a developing play and he's tied with
with Napier, so I think Lagway with him playing, will

(26:04):
probably afford Napier another year. But yeah, absolutely, if they
win the game, there's no doubt Billion Napier will be back,
and we.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Aren't on the other side of the ball for All Miss, Yes,
And from.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
A PR perspective, with what's going on the basketball side,
the pr of keeping napier might help them keep napier
with the with what's going on the basketball side.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Of the basketball coach being investigated. It's amazing he's still coaching.
He's being investigated for multiple multiple multiple women claiming not
only cyber stalking but in person stalking on campus, right,
and he's still coaching. So you're right, pr evacently, certainly
for Scott Strickland, the athletic director, it is gonna be
two bits, four bits, six bits. Let's go Gators, uh

(26:47):
here to go, get a win over Ole Miss and
quell some of that. Let's see if they can early
on ABC. That is my third underdog. So we have
a couple of other games of interest. Army Notre Dame
at Yankee Stadium Saturday night, NBC. This is gonna have
some TV audience. Is this gonna maybe be?

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Could it be?

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Because of Notre Dame's influence in Chicago and the Northeast
the highest rated game of the weekend, higher rated than
Ohio State Indiana because of Primetime and Notre Dame I
will be in the greater New York City area. I
don't know that I can get to the Bronx. I'm
headed up there with the Buccaneers to play the New
York Giants Sunday at one o'clock at the Meadowlands.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
I just can't trust Army here against Notre Dame when
they have to win. And I don't know that Army
can score enough. And their ball control type offense has
suffocated teams in the American Conference. I don't know that
they do it to Notre Dame. Quick thought from you.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Remember Notre Dame played Navy a couple of weeks ago
and they destroyed Navy, so similar kind of offense. They're
used to that option attack. So I think that will
help Notre Dame. And the other part of this too.
What a story would be David versus Goliath here, Army
heading't beat Notre Dame in like sixty years, I believe
something like that seventy years. And what a story if
Army beats Notre Dame two lane and Navy they're in

(28:04):
the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Oh hey, I think right now you have to take
a strong look. If they beat Notre Dame and they
beat Tulane in the American Conference championship game. I don't
know that a Navy loss keeps them out of the playoff.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
I don't know. It be a great debate.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
It would be a great argument if they have won
the American Conference for an unbeaten season, beating Notre Dame
in the process of doing it, and then beating an
unbeaten in the conference to lane team at the very end.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
Bye bye Boise, Bye Bye Boise.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, may very well be, but you got to get
there first. The one thing Navy did is they turned
the ball over six times in that game, three times
right away. It is death, absolute death for Army to
turn the ball over here against Notre Dame.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
And it may be again that.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Notre Dame's big, physical offensive line, physical defensive line to
stop the triple option.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Is too much for Army. Let's find out.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
That's gonna Jason, That's gonna be some scene with the
Cadets in the stands, the Cadets together, gonna be cold
in the forties in the Bronx. It may even be
it may dip into the upper thirties in the Bronx.
The Cadets come in in full uniform regalia information and
then go sit up in the stands. This is gonna
be wild Saturday night, and it is a lot of points.

(29:23):
I just don't trust them against Notre Dame to hang in,
not as much as I trust Florida. Hey, one or
two more that you wanted to touch on Auburn train.
This is at Auburn. A and M still alive for
the college football playoff. Why is this tricky here for you?

Speaker 4 (29:40):
It's a night game. Auburn's do to have one game.
This their one game of year where they come out
and really play well. They got Jarquest Hunter, the running back,
is a good player. I just be careful here. I
think A and M will figure out a way to
get it done. But be careful here with because again
look ahead to next week. Who do they got next
week the Longhorns come to station. Be careful here with

(30:02):
the look ahead going to Jordan hare.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
I maybe And then in the acc early you mentioned
SMU they're at Virginia. I looked at this game as well,
my friend ten point home doggy here for Virginia.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
But I cannot trust them.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Right now against an SMU team that has been rolling,
that has won what seven in a row six trade
in the ACC. Virginia off the loss where they got
pounded by Notre Dame. They also got wiped out by
North Carolina a few weeks ago. I can't trust Virginia
here against Rhet Lashley's team Vins.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Remember that name, Kevin Jennings, the quarterback for SMU, big player.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Yeah, and they and they have a shot still at
the ACC title game in the mix with Miami, with Clemson,
et cetera. All right again by means of review here
on three Dog Thursday, Jason will go Indiana Hoosiers early
at Ohio State plus the thirteen and a half. He'll
go UAB in the matchup with Rice as a whole underdog,
getting six and a half. And then Colorado State is

(31:03):
the road pooch, still trying to stay unbeaten in Mountain
West play at Fresno State getting three points. I will
take Minnesota, maybe not to win, but eleven and a
half is too many in the afternoon against Penn State
on CBS. Likewise, simultaneous to that game is Kansas and Colorado.
I think Kansas can win this game outright with the Buffs.

(31:23):
Lance Leopold looking at another notch in the gun Belt
if you will in the wild West of the Big Twelve,
if they get this win after beating Iowa State and
after beating Brigham Young, or give me Kansas plus the three,
and then I was torn. I'm not gonna play Shuta Kudawooda.
If Army comes through against Notre Dame, I just I've
shied off of that one. I will go with Florida

(31:44):
eleven and a half point underdogs at home with ole
Miss early game noon Eastern time from Gainesville on ABC.
Give me the Gators to save Billy Napier's job to
an extent by at least hanging in against Ole Miss.
We shall see anything else enclosed. Find Jason at JPO
Sports By the way, the Powers On Sports podcast for

(32:05):
all of his great content, not just college football, but
the NFL. Great takes on everything going on, Major League Baseball,
the NBA college basketball. Jason does a fantastic job anything
else in closing, my friend before we're gone real quick.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
We had Noah Eagle on the Pressbox Radio show this
week previewing Army Notre Dames. If you want to check
that out, go to the archives of Pressboxradio dot com.

Speaker 5 (32:27):
Noah Eagle NBC. He was on our show this week,
so we talked a lot about Notre Name.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Great plug there for that and again Noah and Todd
Blacklitch have been doing the primetime games. They had Oregon
in that escape at Wisconsin last Saturday night. What kind
of game are they gonna get at Yankee Stadium, But
we're gonna get a good one with Notre Dame and Army.
