is brought to you by the bitblock Boom Bitcoin Conference. Hey, please
show your support for the four MinuteBitcoin Show by subscribing, commenting, are
sharing with her friend. In November, I received a Telegram message from my
(00:22):
friend Jimmy's Song asking if I wasbusy the week after Thanksgiving, Now I
must a minute. The message wasunusual, but I was free that week,
so of course I replied yes.Next, I received an invite from
Jimmy to join him and other peoplein Austin, Texas for a five day
booksprint. Not for me with booksprints. Well. According to Wikipedia, a
(00:48):
booksprint is a method of creating abook collaboratively and a short period of time,
usually three to five days. Booksprintswhere they make use of conference techniques
to ensure that a group of contentexperts, under the guidance are one or
more facilitators, can not only write, but publish a book at the end
(01:11):
of the book sprint period. Now, personally, I was from me with
booksprints because Jimmy, well, he'sbeen on two other booksprints where he wrote
a Little Bitcoin Book and Thank Godfor Bitcoin, and he had explained the
process to me in previous interview onmy podcast. Of course I immediately said
yes, and then Jimmy informed methere were eight people total invited to the
(01:36):
book sprint, and of course Jimmywas going to be the leader of the
booksprints since he'd been on two otherbooksprints. This was a very diverse group
that consisted of Lamar Wilson, c. J. Wilson, Pete Rizzo,
Charlene Fataripo, Amanda Cavalery, AnalyseWider Spawn, and of course Jimmy Song
and myself. Now we all meton a Monday for late lunch where introductions
(02:00):
were made. I only knew afew of the people, and then we
headed out to a duplex that Jimmyhad read it for us, and we
stayed there from Monday until Saturday morning, so eight people together for a total
of five days, working a minimumof twelve hours a day on the book.
Our goal, well, was towrite a book that could be used
(02:23):
as a tool to help explain bitcoinand answer questions that politicians may have or
may come up with. Of course, the book does a great job of
explaining bitcoin to anyone that may readit, but politicians, well they'll help
shape the future of any legislation thatmay affect bitcoin. So we wanted to
(02:44):
make something special for them. Now, some politicians are being fed food and
incorrect information about bitcoin. This bookwould at least give them honest and correct
information, or at least from ourpoint of view. We named the book
Bitcoin the American Dream. We wrote, rewrote, and edited over and over
(03:06):
again. Then on the last day, we went over the entire book one
paragraph at a time, read oneparagraph at a time until all eight of
us were in agreement on each andevery paragraph. That may sound like the
easy part, but this process washarder than it sounds, since we had
(03:27):
such a diverse group of people alltrying to agree. This last day,
Friday, this process started at ninein the morning and lasted until after three
o'clock the next morning. Now,when we left us in Saturday morning and
went our separate ways, we hada completed book, which I am proud
to say I'm a part of.I also had made some great friendships with
(03:51):
some great people that I look forwardto being involved with for years to come,
many years, many great people. Now you can fine Bitcoin the American
Dream on Amazon in kindall paperback andhardcover. Okay, just go to Bitcoin
