(00:15):
The forty Year Coach podcast. Whatis it? Obviously you have some some
interest in finding out. Well,I'm Adam Stanko and I'll be hosting the
podcast. But the founder of theforty Year Coach is Sidney Smith Uh,
daughter of the late great Derek Smith, Louisville Star as as well as an

(00:35):
NBA star, brother of Nolan Smith, former Duke Star, National Champion,
u NBA player and now a coachhimself. But sid is the important one
to me and the family and Uhand and Sydney. Um, what's this
forty Year Coach the whole thing allabout? Well, the forty Year Coach

(00:57):
it's an academy as well as apart past. It's an opportunity for us
to work directly with coaches and reallyjust kind of help them maximize their coaching
careers. Um, the coaching landscapeis changing, and we've recognized that and
our biggest thing and we're passionate aboutjust really helping them be the best they
can for themselves as they navigate theircoaching journey and for their players that they

(01:19):
work with as well. So we'regoing to provide them with different educational tools,
support, We're going to work We'regoing to combine all the academy services
with the podcast, which gives themthe opportunity for them to listen to veteran
coaches and get advice and you know, learn the way they did it back
in the day or the way they'reworking now. They're going to get,

(01:40):
you know, with tips on XSand O. They're going to hear you
know, funny stories, you know, balancing team. They were using to
learn everything that goes into being agreat coach in you know, this day
and age. What do you thinkyou describe it, but what do you
think the current landscape really is forfor college coaches? I think the current
lands it has changed dramatically. Youknow, back in the day, I

(02:01):
think when coaches were going out andrecruiting, it was you know, you're
writing letters and you're going, youknow, into their homes. Whereas long
before you ever step foot into aplayer's home, you're able to reach them
via social media and other brand elements. And so we want our coaches that
we work with to be able torecognize that, you know, you have
free advertising for you know who youare as a coach, and you know,

(02:23):
developing who your coaches coaching message messageis very important and you know,
what do you stand for? Whoare you? And you know that's something
that you can develop and be ableto portray to the world. And you
know them among the staff that youwork with long before you know you ever
reach these kids. So we wantto just give these coaches, you know,

(02:44):
the tool to be able to dothat and teach them how to do
that because you know, some ofthem don't know how to work social media
or they don't know, you know, really who they are as a coach.
They've kind of just gone along andyou know, gone through the motions
over the years, and so we'rejust trying to um, you know,
the NANSCY is different, and we'rejust trying to make sure each of our
coaches fit into that landscape. Well. People can check out all the information

(03:07):
on the fourty year Coach dot comwebsite. So that's four to yearcoach dot
Com. But as far as thepodcast is concerned, I'm excited because we're
gonna have a lot of fun.We got a bunch of guests lined up
and do you want to let peopleknow about who this first guest is going
to be? Yes, The firstguest is coach Bob Huggins, and we

(03:30):
are so excited to have him on, especially to be our first guest.
You know, we're so grateful.I have a close relationship with his daughter,
Jenna Huggins, and she's amazing, and you know, just he's a
legend in the game. He's someonethat my family has a close relationship with.
He's not only you know, coachedsome of our kids that have come
through our program when I worked withan Adia your program, but he's someone

(03:53):
that's just been a great family friend. And I think you know, one
thing we acknowledge with the four yearcoaches, you know, great people as
well as great coaches, and Ithink Coach Hussin epitomizes that absolutely. I
think people are going to be surprisedto learn a lot about his story.
He's such a fascinating guy and UHpeople love him. The coaching community understands
what he means to basketball and UHand to two young coaches, and and

(04:17):
really he's been such a driving forcefor you know, the positivity that you
talk about, even though I thinksometimes perception might be a little bit different
than than reality. And said,it's not just it's not just coach Huggins,
but there's going to be a bunchof other big name college coaches,
some lesser name college coaches, butguys that are really on the rise,

(04:38):
as well as NBA people. Um, you know, we're really running the
whole spectrum here exactly. We wantto be able to reach coaches at all
levels of the game. So youknow, we're going to have the D
three to the two coaches who youknow winning championships at that level, that's
important. How are they doing it, how are they recruiting, you know,
how are they competing with the youknow, hid one coaching as far

(05:00):
as you know going after players. So we're going to have something for everybody.
For the high school coach who's lookingto get into the business, So
we're going to have information for themlike how do you get started? You
know, where do you look? That's something that's a question that I get
on the regular as you know, how do I break into the coaching business?
And those are questions that will beasked answered by us as well as
the guests that we have on thepodcast. So I feel like there's going
to be something for everybody who justeither once you get into the business already

(05:25):
in the business. We're looking toyou know, excel and you know,
reach that next level. It's it'sgonna be great. Yeah, I'm really
looking forward to the start of thiswhole thing. We also have to give
credit Mark Eisenberg, who is alsoone of the original founders who's helping us
out and encouraging us, but butno longer part of the forty Year Coach.
And since it's gonna be awesome,so I think we should tell people

(05:46):
check out the website for to Yearcoachdot com. And as far as the
podcast is concerned, you can findit every everywhere podcasts are found, but
on iTunes. Certainly subscribe, rate, leave a review. We'd love to
hear from you. Anything else youwant to you want to tell the people,
Nope, that's it. Just followus on social media and our social
media media handles our forty Year Coachas well, So talk to us on

(06:10):
social media. We've poked back.We love questions. If there's anything you
want to know about here about ifthere's a guest you think we should have
on the show, please let usknow. We want us to be you
know, a two way relationship withour coaches and our you know and our
followers. So thank you for listening, couldn't decide a better viself thanks to
jumping out with me said, andI'm excited about this season talk

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
