Speaker 1 (00:08):
A lie has great speed, but the truth has endurance. Hey, hey, hey, everybody,
welcome to the Stylish Mama Jeer. I am your host
haneit R Jordan, and today I just want to talk
about a little bit of the experience that Jamal and
I had to face this year and a half. You know,
we went for as you guys know, and if you

(00:28):
don't know, you know today that we're in the process
of adopting our niece, nieces and our nephew and going
through that process, we have come across some very toxic
let's just say, social workers, and we have come across
some amazing social workers. But we will tell you that

(00:48):
this system is very flawed in a foster care system,
and I don't know how they're going to fix that.
But the lies that they do when they write reports
are if they don't like you for whatever reason, And
I say to myself, God, this cannot be you know
they if you get in the field like this, you

(01:11):
have to be doing what's right for the child, not
because of what you don't like, not because of your
prejudices and things of that nature. But let me tell
you something. The truth is it does has endurance, Okay,
And I stand on that and in faith, and I'm
grateful for the judge. We continue to pray over the judge,

(01:34):
just the judge, the system, and even the attorney. Excuse me, y'all,
but I also pray for some of the workers that
I've come across that weren't so good. I ask God
to pierce their hearts so that they can do the
right thing for the next person. But don't we do file?

(01:56):
I do report because it has to be the best
interest of the child when you're doing that type of work.
With that being said, keep us in prayer, you guys.
You know, Jamal and I gave up a lot, completely
drained our life savings because attorneys are not cheap, and
that was a part of our dream to go travel.

(02:18):
But God had a different plan. And here's the thing.
I'm not salty about it because I know that if
God did it before, he can do it again and
he can bless us ten times fold. Seriously. Our next
thing is, you know, you guys know that we've had
a house before we sold it because we're relieving. You know,
we're going to go travel the world. But now I

(02:40):
know that we need that because stability and consistency is
very important for these three young, beautiful children who are
gift to us at the end of the day. And
so I am grateful to God for the lessons that
I am learning. I'm documenting, I'm journaling, and I'm understanding
the why and the why is important so that I

(03:02):
continue to have the strength to navigate anyways. With that
being said, thank you all for tuning in to the
stylish Mamager again. I am your host, Honey for Jordan, everyone,
and until next time,

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
