So sit back and relax because ghost stories.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Are next cleaning crew. The sterilized hospital walls seem to
close in on me as I make my way through
the faintly lit hallway. My footsteps echo the sound bouncing
off the cold linoleum, like the weight of life and
death that hangs heavy in the air. I've been a

(01:32):
nurse for years, and while it's a rewarding career, it
comes with its own set of challenges, one of those
being the knowledge and on everyone we try to help
will survive. Hey there, Charles Greetsney, his voice both comforting
and eerie amid the oppressive silence. He's been working at
this hospital for almost twenty years, starting as a janitor
and working his way up to supervising the entire department.

(01:54):
His dedication is evident in the way he rolls up
his sleeves and tackles even the most disgusting tasks. Alongside
is the Hi, Charles, I reply, trying to shake off
the disquieting feeling that always accompanies late night shifts. Can't complain,
he says, wiping sweat from his brow, a smile playing
across his lips. Just finished cleaning up after an incident

(02:16):
in the yar. You know how it goes, I nod,
all too familiar with the gruesome sights and smells that
come with working in a hospital. As we chat, I
can't help but notice attention lurking between Charles's friendly demeanor.
It's as if he carries with him a burden, a secret, Charles,
I say, hesitantly, curiosity getting the better of me. I've

(02:39):
heard some strange stories about this place, about spirits lingering
in the hospital. Have you ever experienced anything like that?
He pauses, looking away before turning back to face me,
his eyes filled with a mix of fear and resignation. Well,
there was this one time, he begins his voice wavering slightly.

(03:04):
I was down on the work, cleaning out the drawers.
It had been a while since they'd been deep cleaned,
and they needed it badly. My stomach churns at the
thought of climbing into those cold metal chambers where the
lifeless bodies of our patients are stored. What happened, I asked,
my curiosity peeked Charles hesitates, his eyes darting around the

(03:25):
empty hallway as if to ensure no one else is listening.
I was in one of the drawers, scrubbing away when
I felt something grab me, like claws digging into my shoulders,
trying to pull me towards the back of the chamber. God,
that sounds terrifying, I whisper, filling a chill creep up
my spine. It was, he admitted, a haunted look in

(03:47):
his eyes. I yelled for help, but my coworker couldn't
hear me. I struggled against this unseen force, fearing for
my life, and then suddenly the drawer slid open and
I was free. Did you ever find out what it was?
I ask, knowing full well the answer will only feel
my fears. Charles shakes his head, his expression somburn. No,

(04:08):
but sometimes late at night like this, I can still
feel its presence, a lingering darkness, a reminder of the
grim reality we face each day in this hospital. The
silence that follows his words seem to swallow us whole,
leaving me with an overwhelming sense of dread that clings
to me like a second skin. As a nurse, I've
learned to accept the inevitability of death, but the thought

(04:31):
of spirits haunting these holes and shivers down my spine.
Thanks for sharing, Charles, I say, forcing a smile. I'll
try not to let it get to me. Good luck
with that, he replies, his own smile, tenderous sadness. Just
remember we're all in this together. With that, we part ways,
leaving me to navigate the shadowy hallways alone, each step

(04:53):
echoing my own racing heartbeat and the lingering question of
what unforeseen forces might be watching us from the darkness.
Then the pungent smell of bleach and disinfectant assaults my
nostrils as we descend the cold concrete stairs into the
hospital's basement. The fluorescent lights overhead cast a sickly yellow
hue on the walls, amplifying the eerie atmosphere that seems

(05:16):
to cling to every surface down here. Man, I hate
this place, groans Jake, my fellow janitor and temporary partner
and grime. He glances around nervously, one hand tightening around
the handle of the powerwasher he's carrying. Come on, it's
not that bad, Charles says with a grin, seemingly unfazed

(05:37):
by our surroundings. We're just here to clean the drawers
in the morgue. Nothing to be scared of. Easy for
you to say, I mutter under my breath, trying to
ignore the goosebumps prickling my skin. Once we reach the morgue,
Charles gets straight to work, connecting the water supplied to
the power washer and handing out gloves and masks to
protect us from the fumes. The room is unnaturally quiet

(06:00):
from the hum of the ventilation system and the distant
echoes of footsteps above. It's hard to shake the feeling
that we're being watched, but I swallow my knees and
focus on the task at hand. All right, let's get started,
Charles announces, opening the first drawer with a metallic screech
that sets my teeth on edge. Jake you take the
love side and I'll work on the right. We'll meet

(06:21):
the middle. Get it, Jake replies, his voice slightly muffled
behind the mask. The three of us split up, working
methodically to spray down and scrub each drawer in turn.
The process is slow and tedious, but gradually the grind
begins to melt away under our determined efforts. As I
reach the second to last drawer, I can't help but

(06:42):
shudder at the thought of what might happen in this
very spot. Trying to push those thoughts aside, I lay
down on the cold metal surface, feeling the chill seep
through my clothes as Jake pushes me into the narrow space. Hey,
can you hear me all right? I call out, my
voice echoing oddly within the cramped confines of the drawer.
Silence greets me in response, it seems like Jake's not

(07:05):
paying attention. Sighing, I focus on the task at hand,
scrubbing vigorously at a particular stubborn stain, when suddenly, an
icy grip seizes my shoulders. Panic surges through me as
the unseen force pulls me toward the back wall, its
phantom fingers digging into my flesh like claws, Jake, I yelled, desperately,
my heart pounding in my chest. Pull me out. Something's

(07:27):
got me. But there's still no answer for my coworker,
and all I can do is struggle against the relentless pool,
Feeling the crushing weight of an unseen presence bearing down
on me. The pressure on my head and neck intensifies,
becoming unbearable. My vision swims as I fight the urge
to pass out. Jake, help me, I scream again, desperate,
freely from the supernatural torment. Finally, the drawer begins to

(07:50):
slide out, releasing some of the pressure, but instead of
a smooth exit, it feels like a tug of war
between whatever forces behind me and Jake, who is now
grunting with all effort to pull me out. What the
it's stuck, he exclaims, his voice strained. Keep pulling, damn it,
trying to assist him by pushing against the slick metal walls,
but my hands slip uselessly. Come on, you, bastard, Jake

(08:12):
mutters under his breath. With a sudden jerk, the dwarf
flies out, locking into place. The momentum sense with Jak
and me sprawling across the cold, damn concrete floor. Pain
shoots through my arm and hip as they make contact
with the unforgiving surface. Ignoring the pain, I scramble up
and retreat to the far end of the room, my
heart pounding wildly in my chest. Jake stares at me

(08:33):
with a mix of confusion and concern. Charles, Man, what
the hell just happened? I don't answer him right away.
My attention is drawn to the wet sensation trickling down
my chest. Lifting my gaze, I see dark streaks snaking
down the front of my shirt, leading to my shoulders trembling.
I peel back my shirt to reveal four puncture marks

(08:53):
on either side of my neck, seeping blood. Jesus, Charles,
what happened to your neck? Jake asks, his eyes wide
and shock I I don't know, I stammered, trying to
process the horrifying ordeal. Something grabbed me in there. Let
me take a look at those wounds, Jake says, softly,
stepping closer as he examines my neck. I can't help

(09:16):
but shudder at the memory of those unseen claws digging
into my flesh. Looks like you'll be okay, Charles Jake
reassures me after a moment, but we should get you
cleaned up and report this. As we leave them Morgue together,
I realized that whatever I had attacked me was no
longer just a part of my imagination or some unexplained phenomenon.

(09:37):
It was real, and it had left its mark on me,
both physically and emotionally. Even now, as I share this
story with others, I can't help but remember the lingering scars,
proof that sometimes the most terrifying things are the ones
we can't see. I stand in the dimly lit hallway,
the fluorescent lights overhead casting a sickly yellow blow on

(09:58):
the linoleum floor. The air is cold and sterile, heavy
with the scent of antiseptic and death. It's been weeks
since the terrifying incident in the Morgue, but the memory
still haunts me, creeping into my thoughts whenever I'm alone. Hey,
Charles Jake calls out from behind me, his voice echoing
through the empty corridor. How are you holding up better

(10:23):
than I expected? Honestly, I reply, forcing a smile as
he approaches. What worse could happen at this point?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Right?

Speaker 4 (10:31):
True? But seriously, man, It's impressive how you've managed to
keep working here after what happened. Jake claps me on
the shoulder, his eyes filled with admiration and concern. Thanks.
I don't know if it's bravery or foolishness, but I
feel like I need to be here for the others
if anything like that ever happens to them. I want
to be around to help. Charles, you're one of the
best people we've got here. We're lucky to have you.

(10:53):
As we continue our rounds, the distant sound of a
door creaking open sends a chill down my spine. My
heart raises, and I try to ignore the annawing fear
that something unseen lurks nearby, watching us. But I can't
let it control me. Not anymore. Did you hear that,
I asked Jake, swallowing the lump in my throat. Probably
just another nurse or doctor going about their business, he replies,
shrugging it off, right, I say, trying to convince myself

(11:17):
more than him, Just another night at the hospital. We
move on. The shadows cast by flickering lights seemed to
reach out and grab at us as we walk. The
ghostly whail of the wind outside sends a shudder through
my body, and I can't help but think of those
unseen claws that once dug into my flesh. Charles, you're
doing great, Jake says suddenly, as if sensing my nies.

(11:40):
I know you've got our backs. Just remember we've got
yours too, Thanks man, I reply, touched by his support.
It means a lot. We walk in silence for a while,
lost in our own thoughts, the hospital's eerie atmosphere waging
heavily on me, but I refused to give in the
fear that threatens to consume me. It's just another night shift,

(12:01):
I tell myself, repeating it like a mantra. I've survived worse.
As the hours went on, I can't shake the feeling
that something is watching us, waiting for the perfect moment
to strike. But with each passing minute, my resolve grows stronger.
I won't let whatever haunted me in the Morge control
my life. Remember, Charles, Jake says, breaking the silence, as

(12:25):
our shift comes to an end. You're not alone in this.
We're all in this together, right, I replied, nodding together,
And as I walk out into the cold, dark night,
I feel a newfound sense of determination. I won't let
the darkness win. I'll stand strong no matter what horrors
may come my way, because in the end, it's the

(12:47):
people around me who make all the difference, and they're
worth fighting for.
