(00:00):
Now this is the FCB Podcast Network. Well, hello everybody, and happy
New Year. Welcome to another episodeof a very merry podcast. I'm your
(00:22):
host, Kiera Davis, and Iam here with my very married co host,
Amelia Hamilton. Hi Amelia, HappyNew Year. Hi, Happy New
Year. It's all about twenty twentythree, now, twenty twenty three.
We're in it, We're doing it. I just want to set at the
top. I want to tell peoplea little bit about what our plans are
for the new year moving forward, because you know, we're now this is
(00:44):
the first time I think we've actuallyextended the season and we're going to keep
going through to next season. We'llhave a little bit of a break,
so we have a season one,a season two. We're in season three
right now, and we want tokeep that going and that respect. That
means there's a lot more movies outthere to review than just Christmas movies.
We don't want to abandon Christmas, and we're not abandoning Christmas spirit at all.
(01:08):
But Amelia, why don't you justexplain to the listeners a little bit
about what our plans are moving forwardas we exit the holiday season and get
into real life. Absolutely well,Christmas Land where our movies take place.
You know, it's not like wecan do and they still exist at Christmas
time or at outside of Christmas time. So while he will still be in
(01:30):
Christmas Land in spirit, we willbe looking at watching the movies. You
know, we've been looking watching alot of great American family movies. We
might grab some Hallmark ones. There'sa Netflix one that looks interesting coming up.
But we'll be looking at some otherseasonal stuff as well. But once
a month we're going to go toour roots and do a Christmas movie,
(01:51):
bring us all the way through toprobably I guess October when the new Christmas
movies hit again. Yeah, excuseme, July is always Christmas in July,
right, So we'll be working then. I think maybe what we'll do
is we'll take off maybe August orSeptember before so that we have a break
before the new season and set thatup. But yeah, we've decided we
(02:15):
love doing this podcast and we wantto keep it going. And you know,
there's other seasonal movies in Christmas Land, but everything is Christmas Land.
We are still in the Christmas universeand all of the rules still apply.
So this week in the spirit ofexpanding Christmas Land, we have moved to
(02:37):
a sort of a new Year's offering, if you will, sort of a
reset for the new year, andwe're still over at this week. We've
gone back over to Great American tosee what they have to offer. We
love a good royal mix up movie, and so this week we're reviewing A
Prince in Paradise. And this isa departure in so many ways, Amelia,
(03:00):
because first of all, it's notsnowy, it's not Christmas time,
and second of all, they're ina tropical location, which I don't think
we've done one of those movies.I don't think we have. I don't
think we have. But it's itwas a good one though. Like you
said, the rules of Christmas Landstill apply even on a tropical island.
I loved it. I loved Iactually really enjoyed this movie. I did
(03:25):
too, So one day I decidedI was going to watch a little bit
on my lunch break. I usuallytake a little break from work, have
some lunch at home, walk mydog, whatever. And I was like,
I'm just I'm gonna watch the beginningof this and then I'll finish it.
This afternoon, and then I keptbeing like, I'm gonna watch one
more segment, okay, till thenext commercial. The whole thing. It
was okay, it was worth it. Yeah, it was delightful. It
(03:47):
really, it really was delightful.Well well, well let's set it up
before we get started. I dowant to tell you a philia that I
two things struck me in this movie. One and everybody looked like each other.
Like, when everybody showed up,I was like, all of the
protagonists, like the main characters lookthe same. It was like everyone was
(04:10):
bruting. I mean it was itwas refreshing not to have like a blonde
running around but for a change. But it was like the men kind of
looked the same, the ladies kindof looked everyone kind of looked the same.
But then everyone also reminded me ofsomeone else in celebrity land. So
yeah, so we'll we'll push forwardwith that. Yeah, I up there.
(04:34):
Yeah. So the movie starts withOlivia, who is a writer,
and as Kiatt and I can tellyou the life of being a writer is
looking beautiful at a coffee shop allday. Oh oh we could gorgeous full
makeup. Yep, we we ofour house every day. Oh yeah,
because we we we do not. What we don't do is sit in our
(04:57):
pajamas with no bra on all daylong and no odor is not never.
Never. I hear full hair andmakeup. I were something stylish and I
just sit in a coffee shehef lookingbeautiful and sometimes, as Olivia's doing,
I book an exotic vacation. Yeah, so well I'll tell you what I'll
tell you. I met with mypublisher via zoom the other day and he
(05:21):
got on. He had just he'sa middle aged gentleman. I guess I'm
middle aged now he's older, buthe he We got on the call.
It was like was some of thepublicity department because my launch is coming up
soon. And he was like,oh, please forgive how I look.
I just went out for a walk, took the dog out for a walk.
(05:42):
I'm still in my sweats He's like, Bakira, you know, I
see that you didn't go to anyextra effort to get on this call.
I was like, well, Gary, let me tell you. I'm a
writer. So this is the uniform. I have a sweatshirt on, and
I have a ponytail, and andall my hairs everywhere and be glad you
can't smell me because I am aput on deodor and today Gary, yeah,
(06:09):
I know it. So yeah, but you know, normally, yeah,
normally I would be out there infull makeup looking gorgeous as mouset writers
that one meeting, you weren't Iunderstand right? Yeah, thank you.
So she has been wanting to goto the Haven Aisles for a long time.
Is that a real place? Idon't think so. So she is
(06:30):
finally pulling the trigger, clicking thebutton booking her island getaway. And while
we're while she's in there, andthis also happens to Kara and I all
the time, she's approached by afan and it appears to be some kind
of bookshop coffee shop hybrid. Thereare a lot of books in this place.
Um, so you know he's talkingabout how much he loves the book,
(06:54):
the new book and it's so beautifuland will you sign it? And
then um, she's like, when'sthe new book? And Olivia's like,
oh, you know, it's coming, I'm working on it. And this
part was actually realistic to being awriter because then you see her screen and
it's like outline and it's just blankit just says it's I've been there,
that that part is real. Thatpart is very real. It's a matter
(07:15):
of fact, I haven't an outlinefrom my next book that I'm supposed to
send to the publisher, and itis that blank page right now. I
was like, yeah, I canrelate. You have to go to the
Haven Aisles and everything will be fine. Obviously, her boyfriend shows up,
okay, and what's his name? It's like Kyle, It's Kyle. I
was gonna say it's a chat orKyle, it's Kyle. Kyle. Kyle
(07:39):
shows up and she's like, listen, we have been dating four years.
We've been talking about this vacation. We never get away. We both worked
too hard. So Tada I bookedus a vacation and he's like, Tada,
I'm breaking up with you. Um. This was the best breakup scene
in Christmas Land I have ever seen. This guy wins the prize like he
(08:00):
of it right. He didn't evenlike, he didn't even give her a
chance to be sad or to sayanything. Every time she would pipe up,
he'd be like, no, it'snot you know, it's not you,
it's me, and she'd be like, he's like, and I just
think the space is better for us. And she'd be like, well,
and you know, I've got mycareer. I think this is better for
(08:20):
you. You've always wanted to readthe book, write that book. And
she's like oh, and he's like, you know what, I'm really glad
we had this talk by and it'sout of there. He really did.
He nailed it. Man. Hedidn't even give her a chance to like
make him feel bad. I waslike, you know what, five stars,
Kyle, Yeah, you have torespect that a little bit. He
like he did plan when he wentin there, and he executed the plan.
(08:43):
He totally did. But now she'sleft with this awesome vacation that she
booked them. And I would liketo say Amelia that I am assuming that
the vacation had two separate rooms.Well, obviously they've been. They never
shared a room. No, I'msure they've barely. Olivia is I think
she's a Christmas Land girl, whichmeans she's a good girl. Yeah,
(09:07):
exactly. Um, So Olivia goeshome. She is so upset. She's
trying to work. She can't getanything written. She has a call with
her publisher and the outline is duein ten days, and she's like,
I don't know what I'm gonna do. So there is. So that's what
Olivia is up to, all right. The Prince, Prince what's his name,
alex Alexander, It's Alexander. Heis reading her book, which by
(09:33):
the way, is called Love Bound. Prince Alexander by the way, Bobo
Harry Potter h yeah, except yeah, and she I kept wondering where I
knew her from, and it wasnowhere to me. She looked like Dove
Cameron, who is a Disney actress, a gorgeous one. Um, and
(09:56):
she looked like Dove Cameron. Sowe've got Bobo, Dove Ca and Bubbo
Harry Potter. Yeah. Nice, good for them. Um. He's reading
Love Bound and he loves it.And his assistant slash butler sort of guy
who was named Winston, comes inand they're talking about how there is a
(10:18):
major busy schedule before the big Ballin his home country of tarro Via.
I love the country names they comeup with, tar Classic. That's great.
Yeah. He's like, you haveno time for fun. We just
we have work to do. Andhe's in New York by the way,
he's in New York for work forwork, Okay, there is no fun
(10:39):
to be had. Please don't mistakeanything he's doing for fun. But he
wants to go to an event onthe Haven Islands because his um. There's
this marine rescue something, choral rescuething, and he really wants to go
to this fundraiser. We don't totallyknow the whole backstory yet, but he
really wants to go. And it'sthe night though, of the big ball
(11:03):
in Tarovia. So Winston's like, sorry, buddy, you're out of luck.
You can't go to this because youhave to be at the ball and
job. I think that maybe he'sgonna get a little bit of a break.
The Queen comes in and she sawLady Catherine Renshaw today. Wow.
Oh yes, Lady Catherine mmmmm. There's always a Lady Catherine and the Prince
(11:28):
Lady Catherine. M So she's like, and I invite her to the ball
in Tarovia. Well, Prince Alexanderis mad. He's like, listen,
you tried to set us up beforeand there was no spark. And the
Mom's like, who needs a spark. She's Lady Catherine and that's how it
works. And he's like, well, I'm not going to the ball anyway,
because I have a fundraiser in theHaven Aisles and I've already said I
(11:50):
would go, and if I don'tgo, it's gonna make the whole Royal
family look bad. So peace,I'm out right. He really, like,
he really flipped and reversed that.I mean, because you know,
Winston had already told him you can'tgo, You're you're committed, and he
was going to listen to Winston, but then Mom ticked him off and he
was like, nope, you knowwhat, flippit and reverse it. Gots
(12:11):
to go to the Haven Aisles becauseuh, you know we're we're needed at
this marine kind of research something, right, you're not, Yeah, you
know what, hook lady Katherine upwith like one of the Dukes or you
know, or one of the I'msure she isn't the one for you.
(12:31):
No, everyone in Christmas Land islovely, by the way, always except
ex boyfriend. Ex boyfriend is alwayskind of a douche, but even in
his own way, he's always lovable. So yeah, we're sure Lady Catherine
is a lovely woman. It's justthat there's no there. Yeah. Yes,
um, so Olivia is back atthe coffee shop where she apparently always
(12:54):
works, and there's like a displayof her books and she she has a
meat cute with Prince Alexander, butshe doesn't obviously know he's Prince Alexander.
But they bump into each other, the books fall off the table, um
he starts talking about how great itis and she's like, I've heard mixed
reviews. And then as she runsout the door, he looks at the
(13:15):
author picture in the back because hewas like, don't I recognize you.
She's like, Nope, definitely not. But he sees her author bio as
he's like putting this table back togetherthat they bumped into, realizes it's her.
But she's gone. She has meltedinto the traffic New York City walk.
Yep, she's gone to her again. No, I mean, what
are the odds they bumped into eachother in the city of five million people
(13:37):
and the usually, Yeah, they'reboth about to leave the city, So
clearly it was just one of thosethings. They did have a little moment
there where they touched hands, unlockedthe ice. It was Christmas Land hot.
Yeah, it was a hot borderline. I'm creepy though, Like,
how long do you stare at thatperson. I don't. I mean,
(14:00):
it probably feels like an instant, right, they don't even know how long
you've been staring. Well, Andkeep in mind, she's just broken up
with her boyfriend, right right, right, so's she's got a little spark,
but she's still like smarting from Kyle'sexpert breakup exactly. So back at
her apartment, her friend Katie, who is a woman of color, so
(14:22):
it's not a black best friend,but it's a woman of call. Her
best friend brings her some food andthey start talking about the trip to the
Haven Aisles and She's like, Ican't go. I've got this book outlined,
do you. I'm getting nothing done. And Katie's like, I'm gonna
go with you. The two ofus are going to go. What you
need is to shake things up andmaybe it'll give you an idea for a
book. So she gets totally talkedinto it and they decided to go on
(14:43):
the trip together. I like it. I was like, I was all
on board with Katie. I'm like, Katie is a good friend. Thank
god. Katie has no interests ofher own or no life of her own.
She only is concerned about Olivia's lovelife. They love life. Thank
goodness for that. But she itwas a good friend, Amelia. I
want you to know that if yourboyfriend dumped you right right after you booked
(15:07):
a huge romantic trip for the twoof you, I would take the trip
with you. Um. I'm reallyglad you said that, because I was
gonna say that if I ever getexpertly dumped right before vacation, guess who
my plus one is? Okay, you got it. I thought you were
about to say, Actually, Kiara, I did. I did. Just
get dumped and surprised. I haveto ticket surprise Saint Martin. Time to
(15:30):
go get her groove back? Allright, I will go. So yeah,
they're they're doing it all right now. Everybody arrives at the island separately.
They obviously nobody knows the other onesare there. Um, but Olivia
shocked. He's out for a walk, and who does she run into accept
(15:52):
her ex boyfriend Kyle, who assumedthat Olivia was no longer going to go,
so he grabbed his new girlfriend Tiffanyand they show up at the Haven
Isles. I mean one are theother? I was like, this is
a little bit forgetting Sarah marshall ishyou know, where they break up and
then yeah, oh yes, anduh yeah. I was like, oh
(16:18):
my gosh, everybody's there. Everybody'sthere. Everybody, the whole gang is
on the same remote island, everyonefrom New York City. It's amazing.
Yeah, but you know what acoincidence it was. Um So, she's
hiding in the bushes because she doesnot want Kyle to see her, she
does not want to meet Tiffany. She's just kind of trying to get the
(16:38):
lay of the land spy on themfigure out exactly what she's looking at here.
And Prince Alexander finds her hiding inthe bushes. Um So they start
talking. Kyle, Caesar and Tiffanycome over, and I kind of love
this moment because they're all introducing eachother, you know, to each other
the you know, the New plusones, And Kyle and Alexander do this
(16:59):
like super macho handshake where they likesqueeze each other's hand too hard to be
like a little territorial of Olivia, which did make me laugh. So that's
all right. So they have thismoment um and Alexander kind of pretends that
he's with Olivia and he's like,oh, because Kyle mustaf lunch and he's
like, can't, We've got plannedsorry. Yeah. So so Olivia goes
(17:22):
on her way and I okay.So she goes to the pool with her
friend Katie. And I noticed thatin this movie everybody wore one piece swimsuits,
but there was a lot of boobyou know what, because Katie's swimsuit
was like deep v neck but itwas a one piece. And yeah,
(17:44):
and I have to say, youknow what, since we're talking about wardrobe,
I thought the ladies wardrobes were verynice. They were very fashionable,
much Tata in Christmasland. I didn'tthink it was too much though, I
thought, like, I mean itis usually those are like usually though they're
like majorly mom bathing suits, youknow, And they were a little sexy.
(18:04):
I wasn't. I don't think theywent too far. But no,
not, it didn't too far atall. But I also I must admit
that because I watched Christmas movies forso long, I don't really see a
lot of swimsuits period, So Imean, this is one of my first
movies with with like swimsuits. ButI thought, yeah, they were very
(18:25):
tastefully dressed. There didn't seem tobe anyone else in the resort except for
for people from New York. Peoplefrom New York, well, I guess
you could people from Tarovia and beingready. Um all right, So Olivia
is telling Katie about running into Kyleand then Alexander, and Katie's like,
(18:48):
well, this is fate. Howcould you run into this hot guy in
a bookstore coffee shop? Last week? You guys touched hands, it was
pretty bit intimate, and now yousee him again and he rescues you from
your sleazy X like, this isit's destiny, and she's she's right by
the way. I loved Yeah,I know. I loved that the screenwriter
let her um explain the plot tous. I love like it look like
(19:15):
a little self aware moment. Yeah, I loved it. Um. Alexander
meanwhile, is doing some major work. He is in this marine lab and
um, we're finding out though thatwe don't know what's going to happen to
the fundraiser because the doctor who runsthe marine lab has been detained somewhere,
so they think there's gonna go aheadand cancel it, and Alexander is like,
(19:38):
I will host it. I willhost your fundraiser and we find out
now it's called the Marine Reserve.Okay, fundraiser, he keeps calling it.
So he's like, they need themoney. I can help. We
have a week and it turns outhis father helped to build the Marine Reserve,
so that's why it is so importantto him. But Winston, his
(20:02):
butler assistant whatever he is, islike, um, sir, you know
that means you have to give aspeech. And he's like, I will
do it. I'll give a speech. So we know the giving speeches isn't
his favorite? Just a little somethingto file away. Yeah all right,
Katie, Oh so I was like, what did I write here? Um?
(20:23):
Next, everybody's walking. The twogroups of people are walking around,
run into each other again, andKatie and Winston kind of like each other
a little bit, and they decidethat they're going to have an adventure tomorrow.
And this part also made me laughbecause Katie and Olivia are having lunch.
The dudes from Tarovia walk by,and Alexander's like, let's have an
(20:45):
adventure tomorrow and Olivia's like, Ican't. I'm working And this felt like
something that you would do to me. She picks up the menu and bought
the old voice behind it as thoughthey can't hear. She's like, he
is beautiful. You have got tohave lunch of them. She's like,
I can go off with some randomdude, blah blah, and then she
puts the menu down and it's likejust one more minute, please, and
then she's like, we're going You'regonna go tomorrow. Was excuse us?
(21:11):
Yes it was. It was cute. It was cute, and I did
like that. There was like alittle bit of chemistry between the two side
characters, but not overwhelming, notlike we didn't have to focus on that
relationship though. Yeah, yeah, but they were both very attractive people like
why not, yeah, exactly. So Winston at this point realizes that she
(21:33):
doesn't know that he is Prince Alexander. She thinks she's just this guy Alexander,
and he is like, Palace subterfugenever works, which is also what
he said when he tried to getout of going to the ball. He's
like, subterfuge never works, Sojust kind of keep that in mind,
and he and Alexander's like, listen, I just want her to know the
(21:56):
real meat. Everybody gets caught upin the title, and they don't get
to know the real me. Andthen what's going to happen, Like in
ten years, he's gonna be likePrince Harry and he's gonna have to write
a book, and he's gonna haveto go on Oprah and he's gonna do
a Netflix documentary and the Spotify. He's going to have to explain to everyone
who he is over and over againif he doesn't just get to know her
now right, No situation. Sono, I wonder if the Prince Harry
(22:21):
situation exists in this world. Uh, And I do have some questions about
it later on as we get tothe end of the movie. But I
agree, you know, I agree. What is a prince supposed to do?
You know, if he's met thislovely girl? You know, why
get all mixed up in titles? Why not? I don't, Yeah,
figure out what else is a princesupposed to do when a pretty American girl
(22:41):
comes you know, his way? You've got to lie to her, you
do, It's yeah, it's theonly thing you can do. Um.
And speaking of liars, the Queenas a spy on the island Bobo Jordan
Peterson. Yes, so she's gotthis guy spy and reporting back what they're
(23:04):
doing. And what they're doing iswe get a montage of the next day
and they have a big day. They have a big day. They kayak,
they do yoga, they go ona helicopter. Right, they are
splashing each other in the ocean. It is amazing. And then it all
culminates in beach volleyball and it isat Prince Alexander and Olivia versus Kyle and
(23:30):
Tiffany, and they dominate. Kyleand Tiffany are going down. Did Paul
Revere really say the British are coming? And how is George Washington chosen to
leave the First American Army. Joinus for the Growing Patriot podcast, a
place for curious kids to ask thebig questions about our nation's history and get
(23:51):

get your podcast today. I Well, they run across Kyle and Tiffany on
the beach. And Tiffany, whoseems like a nice enough girl, you
know, she seems yeah, sheseems like a she seems fine. She
(24:12):
seems like a fine gal. She'slike, hey, you guys want to
play volleyball? And course Kyle's like, oh no, this is like awkward.
But I don't want to have toexplain to Tiffany how awkward it is
and why like literally just dumped thisgirl last week and then stole her idea
for this vacation. But but ofcourse, so they do a little uh
you know, top gun style beachvolleyball with like minus shirtless Tom Cruise.
(24:37):
No one's shirtless in this scene, but m yeah, but we did.
We do get another little montage montageheavy movie. There were a lot of
montages in this montage. I donot mind at all. I love a
good montage, especially at Christmas Land. So but yeah, obviously Olivia and
Alex beat dumble Kyle and naivel Tiffany. Yeah they do. Yeah, and
(25:03):
Kyle is mad and like stomps off, and Tiffany's like, what just happened?
She has no idea what was goinggoing on? Again? Does the
sweet girl? What does she know? She met this guy? You think
he's a nice guy. Yeah, yeah. She goes back to their room
where they have, well, totheir suite where they obviously have separate rooms.
Sepparate rooms. Yeah, obviously shedoesn't know this guy. Um.
(25:25):
But so afterwards they have a littlepicnic, Winston and Kate, the two
the sidekicks and the main characters havea little picnic and Winston accidentally drops your
Highness in conversation. So then alexhas Alexander has to come up with this
weird story about how his friends callhim your Highness as a joke. And
I to me meeting a man andfinding out that's what his friends call him,
(25:48):
that would be a red flag forme, like, exactly what kind
of a demanding human being are youthat you're fly? Because Winston says,
oh, I just I guess onecould say I've been like picking up after
him for yeah, yeah, youknow, yeah, So I don't know.
I'd be like, I don't havetime for this man, baby messes.
Maybe I know, but he waskind of hot, So you can
(26:11):
get away with a lot when you'rehot. True. And it's on vacation,
so I hear. And it's onvacation, right, yeah, vacation
rules. They don't know that anyof this is gonna last. This is
like just two attractive girls meeting twoattractive guys, you know, spending some
time together and yeah. Um,now after this, the spy dude is
(26:33):
calling the queen, and the queenis like, this sounds like he's hanging
out with her way too much. You need to find out exactly who she
is. So he is working onthat. And while he is working on
that, Olivia and Alexander go fora romantic walk on the beach and she
like makes this joke about how whenshe was younger she wanted to be a
princess. L O L isn't thatfair? You don't know how close you
(26:56):
are, girl, Olivia, youdon't even know. And then she talks
about how she's never really been anywhere, and he's like, how is that
possible. Your books are so umhave all these adventures and blah blah blah.
She's like, well, they justheaven in the books. Um.
And then she's talking about her shehas writer's block and this thing is due.
It's like a week now when heroutline is due, and he's like,
(27:18):
listen, you need to take yourtime because you don't owe anyone anything.
And while that was a nice sentiment, she owes her editor an outline
right, No, that she's contractuallyobligated. I was like, well,
not kind of, but no,she does owe her publisher this outline.
She is contractually obligated to do itand leave it to the prince right,
(27:45):
Like, there'll be no consequences ifyou just don't honor this contract. So
um, and the publisher has alsosaid that they built their like spring release
schedule around her book, so likeshe needs need they need No, no,
yeah, these No, he's absolutelywrong. She does owe these people
this thing. Sorry, sorry, that's actually how it works. Um.
(28:08):
And then he asks her to thefundraiser at a little date. So they
each go home and like tell theirfriends about it. You know. He's
telling Winston that he asked her out. They went for a walk. Winston's
like, you gotta tell her. She's telling um Katie about it, and
Katie's like, he's awesome. Youneed to just go, like, don't
(28:29):
overthink it, just go have somefun. And Olivia is now writing again.
She's got her mojo coming back. She's getting nothing like a hot guy
to break that writer's block. Mm hmmm. Um. So meanwhile,
or as she's sitting there writing, the spy dude comes by and brings champagne
to the room and it's like,oh, I've got some free champagne for
(28:52):
you, by the way, what'syour name, bubb Peters, Bubbo Jordan
Peters, and was not subtle atall. No, wait no, but
these were a couple of dumb girls. And when a stranger came to their
room and asked their name, theywere like, here's my full name and
social security number, and well andwe will take this bottle of Champion that
has obviously not been poisoned in anyway. Ye, not drugged at all.
(29:18):
But we're not going to be onWe're not going to be on CNN
tomorrow. Two American women missing inBehavin, Aisles, Aisles, um So
he calls the queen and tells herthe name, and the queen personally starts
just like googling her. Yeah.Yeah, she doesn't have any sort of
security people that can help with this. And she gets let me tell you,
(29:41):
she gets the absolute nitty gritty. She's like, her father is a
refrigerator mechanic. Yes, everything wason this Wikipedia page. Everything was just
like her father was a manual laboreror a mechanic, or he was af
fridgerator mechanic. People which is definitelya real job. It sounds like actually
(30:06):
wrote this movie and doesn't know that'snot what they're called a refridgerator mechanic.
And it had um, what washer what did her mother do? Her
mother did something stupid too. MS. No, she wasn't a dumb teacher,
but she was like, oh,a server. I think she's like
a waitress basically, I think so. And then um and then uh it
(30:32):
had her love life on there ina relationship for six years, recently separated,
and you know what, it's reallyfamous, she's really famous. But
then I was like, in arelationship was she was in a relationship with
Kyle for six years? That wasa long time, ladies. Yeah,
(30:53):
don't do that, no, youno, ladies, six years? Six
years you know it too. Andsix years and they've probably never even kissed
because you don't kiss to the end. So I mean, you know,
six years ladies with me and Ameliasaying all the time, if you are
in a relationship for six years,at some point you need to stop and
you need to ask yourself, whereis it that I want this relationship to
(31:17):
go? And why isn't it there? Maybe you do want to be in
a state of limbo for the restof your life. If that's what you
want, yea. If your goalis marriage, get the hell out of
a six year relationship. It's toolong. And when you think about how
Kyle just like unceremoniously dumped her likethat, like wow, yeah after six
years. Yeah, sicked exactly exactly. So she sees Prince Alexander the next
(31:45):
day. Oh sorry, So theQueen is like, refregier mechanic, No,
we got to shut this down.So she is like she's going to
take control of this situation. Thenext day, the Prince is hanging out
with Olivia again and he tries totell her. He tries to tell her
that he's a prince. He startsto and the spy dude comes up and
(32:05):
interrupts him, and it's like yourmom's on the phone, and he's like,
um, why are you here? What's going on? And so he's
trying to like really quickly talk toOlivia trying to get the other guy to
shut up. Winston comes over likeyou've been your cover has been blown,
blah blah blah, and finally thespy dude says, your highness, the
Queen is waiting and her mind isblown and she just bails. She's like,
(32:25):
I don't know what this is,but I'm leaving. I thought it
was interesting that that reveal came inthe middle of the movie. Yeah,
I did at the end. That'sright, that's right. But now she
found out earlier. And obviously, when you find out that the guy you're
in the hot, wealthy, um, kind hearted, environmentalist young man that
(32:52):
you're interested in, who is alsointerested in you, when you find out
he's a prince, obviously you run. I've never been more disgusted because he's
not even like like there's no paparazzibothering him, Like there doesn't appear to
be any downside because it's Terovia.Nobody knows. No, there doesn't appear
(33:13):
to be a downside at all, except that you know he lied to her.
But her friend points out when shetells her friend, you know,
well he lied to be her frienddoes point out, well, you lied
to him, you know when youfirst met. So yeah, yeah you
did. Okay, So he talksto his mom. His mom's like,
you need to like shut this down. He says no, obviously, and
(33:36):
so Katie, the friend slash voiceof Reason says, why don't you talk
to him? Which was a shockingthing to hear in Christmas Land because people
usually just don't have the conversation andgo on with the misunderstanding. How does
this plot move forward if they talk? I know, what is Katie even
doing? I know? And shealmost ruined the whole thing. So then
(33:58):
Alex comes over to explain and theygo to lunch and talk. Yeah,
we're gonna have an adult conversation aboutit. It was shocking. It was
shocking they did. They had aconversation and it went, you know,
fairly well pretty well. Um.Meanwhile, the spy dude is talking to
the Queen about how he has neverseen the princes happy. It's just such
(34:21):
a beautiful thing to see. Ashe continues to spy on them. Um
so the prince and he says hebut he has a moment of pause there.
He did something he wants. Hewants to tell the queen something,
you know, and he at onepoint he's like, your majesty, if
I may, and she's like yes, Bobo Jordan Peterson and he says,
uh, nothing, you know.So there's something on his mind that he
(34:45):
wanted to say, but he nevergot to say it. We'll find out
what that is, queen. Yeah, well, there's protocol. Obviously.
His whole movie is about this guybreaking protocol, the very important traditional protocol
of Tarovia. Yes, all right, So he takes her to the marine
reserve and explains why it's important tohim, and they have a beautiful little
(35:07):
connection moment, and then he remembersthat he needs to write a speech,
and he hates writing speeches, andshe's like, um, good job that
you have a professional writer right herestanding next to you. You're fool.
So he's like, you would dothat for me. So she's going to
write the speech. Cross that offthe list. And then he's like,
listen, let's go snorkeling. Butshe is scared. She's kind of scared
(35:28):
of open water. But they gounderwater and they hold hands while they're under
there, and it was beautiful. And then when they get out, her
hair is dry. I would happenedto me, you know what, but
in Christmas Land, your hair Isellais gonna look perfect even when I'm supposed
to him a lot more if myhair just came out styled and dry.
(35:51):
Yeah, there is a there wasa movie that my kids used to watch
all the time. It is aNickelodeon movie. It was called Team Beach
Movie. They actually made a fewof the most very popular. It was
sort of a parody of those fiftysurf surfer like gidget um Team Beach comedies
or shows. And one of thegags it's where it's it's where these two
(36:13):
kids kind of go back in time. I don't know, a tornado or
a big wave or something takes themback in time and they're in this weird
like land of musical Team Beach movies. And but the running joke is every
time you go in the water, when you come out, your hair is
perfectly dry and quaft, like noone's ever went. So that's I imagine
(36:35):
that it's that sime same kind ofmagic and Christmas Land. It makes sense.
It makes sense to me. Um, it's probably what they're studying at
the Marine Reserve, to be honest, they're trying to figure out how they
can market that. Oh sure, sure, sure, sure, yeah.
I don't know what else they're studyingat the marine. Not a single person,
by the way, in the MarineReserve at anytime, no, no,
(36:59):
nobody works was really devoid extress. They almost canceled the fundraiser that funds
it for an entire year because theone guy couldn't make it so right,
the one guy, the one doctor. It was like, is he doing
everything? He has? He's doneeverything, Nitor. He has scheduled things,
he booked all the entertainment, hehired the caterer. Like, yeah,
(37:22):
he probably is a musician and caterer. He's probably some wonder playing the
guitar himself. There's only him,it's no wonder. He disappeared like he's
overwhelmed. Guy, He's like,I'm gonna I'm going underground. I can't
do that anymore. Um, Kyleand Tiffany are also having fun. I'm
(37:43):
not sure why we needed to knowthat, but they did a little you
know, montage of them having agood time too. So I noticed at
this point that Olivia wears jumpsuits andrompers pretty much the whole movie. I
don't think she ever wears anything, and maybe and bathing suits, but yeah,
she wors jump as a rompers. To Hie, so good for her
comfortable island clothing. Well, Isaid, I thought that the wardrobe was
(38:04):
really good. Yeah, it wascute. Um, all right, he
and Alexander now is trying to explainto her that he will not have time
for conservation when he's king, whichyou know, King Charles is a big
conservationist. So maybe they can talk. Maybe there's like a King Um conference
every year or something, King CON. Maybe King Con. Maybe I can
(38:25):
talk about how they work, becauseI feel like you can't even learn something.
But in the middle of this,we see that Kyle and Tiffany are
now fighting. Things are going southfor the two of those And oh no,
I mean gosh, so you meanto tell me that, Um,
(38:45):
this girl met a perfect stranger aweek ago, went to m a Island
vacation with him and didn't really knowhim at all. And then I was
once asked to go on a vacationon a first day and I said,
no, did she what? Iknow? Are you serious thought you can
(39:08):
say no to that? Did youeven have a second of like maybe I
should say yes? No, youdidn't even think. The disco was like,
what if he's a prince? Whatif he's a prince and he's just
not telling me? Yeah? No, m no, okay, And I'm
alive and I feel good about it. Oh yeah, wow, So those
(39:34):
two are fighting, and Tiffany stormsoff, and meanwhile Alex Alexander has to
take a call, so Kyle andOlivia are left alone, and she's like,
listen, you need to grovel andyou need to actually listen to her,
which is what he didn't do whilebreaking up, although in a breakup
situation it was kind of genius, but if he's trying to salvage this,
he needs to listen to her andthen have a real conversation. So Olivia
(40:01):
has this great conversation with him, goes back to the room and she's like,
Katie, I don't know what I'mgonna wear. I'm going to this
fancy fundraiser that on an island vacation. Katie happens to have packed multiple,
multiple black tie worthy dresses and doesthey have the exact they fit perfectly on
(40:22):
Olivia and you, like, you'realways saying the friend doesn't have any other
interests, so she probably just packeda bunch of dresses that fit Katie instead
of fit Olivia instead of herself, just in case Olivia needed them. And
she's like, I don't need underwearfor my trip. I don't need a
(40:42):
second pair of flip flops. Ijust need eight to ten gowns that only
fit my friend just in case. That's how I see it, That's how
I saw it happening. Yeah,I mean, she knows that this is
the only joy she's going to get. The vacation is if her her friend
and finds love again and just incase, or you know, or maybe
(41:04):
you just want to have a funmontage scene and so you're gonna need changes
the clue. I mean, Ilove we talk about our love of montages
all the time, but I willtell you that to me, there are
two montages in movieland period, likean all of movie dumb. That movie
dumb that I love. I ama sucker for you put it in any
(41:27):
movie. I am sitting down towatch it. Uh, preparing for battle
montage. So if you're you know, you're you're getting you're tricking out your
car and you're you know, makingthe armor and you're teaching the dummies how
to use guns, like I'm downfor that, and trying on clothes montage.
It never gets old. No,no, especially when she looks stunning
(41:51):
and absolutely everything. She looks stunningand everything and her friend was like,
no, yeah, it was, well, bitch, you brought all these
dresses. Why this is really terribleon me? I believe you. These
days it seems like everybody's talking, but no one is actually listening to the
(42:15):
things they're saying. Critical thinking isn'tdead, but it's definitely low on oxygen.

iHeart, or wherever you get yourpodcasts. So finally she's like,
yes, that is the dress, but we don't get to see it yet.
Thankfully good to see it, butwe know either a deal. Yeah,
you know it's gonna be great.Alexander is at the party now,
hanging out with Winston and he isin full uniform, looking hot, talking
about how he has to go hometomorrow, yep, to to end,
(43:00):
and then Winston's like, hey, turn around, buddy, and we get
the dress moment and I wrote downso much boob again it was you know
what I actually thought her boobs neededto be pushed up a little more in
that dress. Well, oh yeah, I thought she could have used a
little more boobie. Well, Ithink that they were. I think they
could have used a little more support, but there were still a lot of
(43:22):
them on show, and I did. I don't know if we've ever said
this, probably at some point inour three seasons now, but the dress
reveal, I can't remember a timewhen it wasn't a red dress. It's
always a red dress. Yeah, yeah, so and this was a red.
(43:44):
I mean it was a deeper redby the way her lipstick color was
like on point. But um,I love a good deep red lip lip.
But yeah, it was a reddress. And I was thinking back
to the Lindsay Lohan movie we didlast week, and you know that that
reveal that dress was red, andI was trying to think of a time
when there was a dress reveal whereit wasn't red. I think we did
(44:07):
now if I think the Royal Nannymovie, I think that reveal. I
for some reason I remember that dressbeing gold. I think that was a
gold dress. But yeah, Ithink this is maybe another trope that that
it's it's a red dress and youknow, in any other world that would
(44:29):
signify, you know, red signifieslike um, like flame fire. It's
either you're a villain or you're aseductress. But in Christmas Land it's wholesome,
right right, Yeah, And shelooked beautiful, so he is into
it, um, and so hekind of sets her down, sets her
at her little table. And thenwhat I was expecting was for him to
(44:52):
get up and start his speech andthen it would have like a little transition
and then it would be like afterhis speech, and she would be a
great job. But instead they showedthe entire speech, which I was thirty
seconds and it was the dumbest ever. I'm like, she had to write
this for him. It was like, um, my father started the Marine
(45:12):
Reserve vaguely named research center. Iliked it too, and I've always wanted
to support it, and so hereI am supporting it with your donations.
Thank you. It's like it waslike, wow, she wrote that a
professional writer on staff. Neally wasnervous about that though, you know.
(45:37):
So they started dancing and she's tellinghim that she's got her new book outline
already and turned in and it's abouta woman who meets its secret prince and
blah blah blah, and they havelike a little moment and they almost kiss,
and I felt like, even thoughthe paparazzi isn't everywhere, there's a
lot of people around, and maybethis isn't the place for your first kiss
when you're a prince. But whateveryou do, you it didn't happen.
(46:00):
First well it didn't happen, thankgoodness. Yes it was an almost kiss,
and I appreciate that. Again,I get nervous, I get I
find myself getting very nervous when theProtagon news start to get close before the
end of the movie. But yeah, someone was like, oh no,
I hope, I hope this isn'tthe one time they break protocol. But
(46:22):
yeah, that was what I wasthinking too. I'm like, why is
he going in for the kids?Like it's a big it was a big
freaking deal day Harry like yeah,oh yeah, well even in like we
need Kelsey back because like this isa big freaking deal. When Harry would
even like hold Megan's hand or shewould always want to like hold on to
his arm, even she wasn't evenbeing that forward. She would just be
(46:44):
like, I'm gonna hold on tohis arm and they're like, oh,
no, no, you don't.Yeah, William and Kate do not touch
each other in public. You know, they're their hands are folded and locked
in front. And so I was, I was with you, I'm with
you, Amelia. I was like, this is not the app appriate place
to go in for that first kissand approach in agreement is the queen who
(47:06):
showed up and interrupted the kiss. And then we find out her name is
Queen Patricia, which when they're tryingto go for like she's Patrician. I
don't know what they were doing. It was I thought that was an interesting
queen name. But I don't knowabout the naming of Tarovia. Maybe it's
an it's an old queen name there, um right right, you don't know.
It could be a traditional I don'tknow, Patricia. Yeah, well
(47:29):
it's a traditional Tarrovian. It's atricial Tarvian name. Yeah. Um.
So they all sit down at thetable and there's this moment where the spy
dude um like pulls out her chair, tucks it under her, and then
he like puts his hand on hershoulder and she like reaches up and touches
it, and Olivia is like,um, did everyone just see that entirely
sexy moment that just happened? Theybasically took each other's clothes off and away
(47:57):
floor They might as well have beenIt was like, hang on, did
he just touch her shoulder to shoulder? And then she touched his hand on
her shoulder? Yeah? I know, I was like, what am I?
Is this? How some people doingthat? I would be like there's
something there, of course, butI'm just like, you know, I'm
not uh, you know, GreatAmerican. I didn't sign up for Cinemax
(48:17):
right right exactly. Um, It'salmost it was almost as scandalous as the
opening scene of Three Wise Men anda Baby where we saw a guy with
no shirt on terrible. Um,Alexander Traumas would be greatly traumatized, Amelia.
I think about this season. Ithink Great American is well. I
(48:39):
was gonna say, they're putting usback together, but like you said,
that was pretty scandalous moment. Yeah. M Alexander, though, needs to
get back to work. He needsto get some pictures taken for press.
Um. So Olivia is left alonewith Queen Patricia and the Queen is she
has some finely pointed barbs. Let'sjust say about Olivia's writing and about how
(49:01):
she's not good enough and this isnever going to work out, and Olivia,
Um, she basically is like,um, he's out of your league.
Like you just have to know. She was a real bee. The
Queen was a real me to Olivia, and she, I mean she really
did get it was pretty Uh yeahit was me. Now it was down
(49:25):
I you're a writer of sorts,like I mean, she was just a
refrigerator mechanic. Yeah. It waspretty rough. Yeah, but she did
give her a little advice. Youknow. One of the things she said
was that, um, basically whatshe's telling her was like, this is
(49:45):
a vocation, right, Royal lifeis a vocation, and you have to
know that there's a lot of responsibility. And I do think that that was
a fair warning to give it.If she wasn't being such a bee about
it the whole time, I wouldhave said, I would have categorized that
speech in the vein of like RobertBarron, where it's like, Okay,
(50:06):
this person is making sense. She'ssaying, my son is gonna be king,
he's got responsibilities, and you're notgonna come. It's not like life
in America. You have restraints andall of this stuff, and he'll be
traveling a lot, and you'll bein this the foreign country of Tarovia alone
without your husband. You need tothink about that. Yeah, But instead
(50:28):
she was mean, So we hateher. No, no, we hate
her. Yeah. So Olivia goesback and she runs away. Olivia runs
away crying, which I kind ofdon't blame her. I would have run
away crying too. She goes home, or goes back to her room,
and she's telling Katie. She hasthis whole scenario about how it all would
have worked out anyway, and like, you know, we could we could
(50:50):
have just fallen in love and thenthis would have happened, and that would
have happened. And here's why Istill wouldn't have worked out. And it's
a whole she's got a whole storyplan. And I think it's important this
point to remember that these two peoplehave known each other for four days.
Well, you know, love movesfast in Christmas Land. This we know
it's true. We've seen that happenin shorter time in Christmas Land. Yes,
(51:12):
so she says she's just gonna walkaway um, and what else is
she? What else is she todo? And you know, the prince
of course, he comes back tothe table. He's like, oh,
mother, where was Olivia? Andshe's like, oh, she just had
a headache. You know, umrushed it right off, but um,
but she told me to stay anddo your job. So he doesn't go
(51:35):
after her, right, that's whatshe lies about it. So so as
she's running away, she runs intoKyle and he's like, Tiffany left me
here and I and so basically he'slike, Tiffany left me here, so
I want you back. Yeah, and I love this. She says no,
and he goes fair enough, Iknow, like he had to try,
(52:00):
right, ye had to try. That was it was like a sanitized
Forgetting Sarah Marcial, Like this reallywas the plot of Forgetting Sarammrcial, which
is a great movie by the way, if you like raunchy comedy rom coms,
that's a fabulous movie. So it'snot it's not an insult to say
(52:21):
that this looks like that. Butyeah, it was like Tiffany, I
guess finally caught onto him. Shesaid, oh, she said, I'm
too involved in my career, whichwe haven't seen any evidence that Kyle cares
about his career at all. Ihaven't seen him doing anything. He doesn't
seem busy. No, he reallydoesn't. I mean, he get to
(52:45):
break up with his girlfriend and thenimmediately went on vacation with But you know,
and I don't blame Tiffany. Sheseemed like a nice girl, and
you know, she and Kyle wasa walking red flag. So good for
her. I hope she finds herown prints out there exactly exactly. Maybe
next time she will say no togoing on vacation with a stranger. Yeah,
you should, everybody, everybody,if a stranger asked you to come
(53:08):
on vacation, you should say no. Yeah should. I just wanted to.
I just wanted to put that outthere. Yeah, So I don't
that. So she and Katie gohome, they pack, and they just
leave immediately, like in the darkright now. And I I guess I
would have assumed that they would havehad to wait till they're plane, but
no, no, there's gonna beright now in the dark middle They're like
(53:30):
walking down the dock in the middleof the I guess it's like that.
It's like the river crossing and Lordof the rings, you know, when
they like in the middle of thenight, they have to cross the river
and they go to the one dockwhere you can cross. It's like,
yeah, that's what I imagined, that there's some like hand hand operated.
(53:52):
Yes, they just get on therethat they pull themselves the airport for the
next three days waiting for the light. Anyways, I guess they got to
where they were going. So they'resneaking out and Alexander is knocking on the
door then trying to you know, talk to her about it, and Katie
texts Winston like, something weird's goingon. Your mom. Did you know
(54:15):
Queen Patricia did something to Olivia.I don't you know? We're leaving,
So Winston tells Alexander, and Alexanderconfronts his mom and he's like, we're
in the same predicament because I knowthat you're in love with the spy dude.
And Patricia is floored that anyone noticedthis. Yeah, and she's embarrassed.
(54:38):
And also this whole conversation, youknow, and then mom, like
Queen Bee is like, well, you know, when y'all lost your father,
um, Bobo Jordan Peterson was therefor me and he was so kind
to me, and they're having thiswhole conversation as if he's not standing runner.
(55:01):
They could at least hold up apaper menu. They didn't even try.
And it's still to me, it'sstill like smacked of like elitism.
Right, They're like, oh,we can follow love these commoners, but
we're still going to talk about themlike they're not here, like they're not
involved in this equation whatsoever. Andyou know, there have been a few
(55:24):
Prince movies where the mom is inlove with the butler. So I think
that this is getting to be atrope too. It happens a lot.
I like it. I'm always likefor it, but I do want I
do often wonder how it upsets thetradition of the kingdoms that they come from.
(55:45):
I mean once in a well,in this situation, I really was
thinking about it because it's like, okay, once in a few generations,
like if we look at the Britishroyal family and you've got like Edward who'ated
the throne for Wallace Simpson and nowwe're looking at Harry, it's like once
(56:05):
every few generations something. But like, ye, for this to happen,
really, yeah, yeah, forit to happen on a regular basis,
it does feel a little bit disruptiveto the tradition of a kingdom. Um,
all right, Olivia is back homeand she is on a zoom call
with her editor. Her editor lovesthe new book, but she's like,
(56:28):
I don't understand why they don't endup together. That's that's weird. And
she's like, well, um,She's like, fairy tale endings don't happen
in real life. And just thenthere's a knock on the door. She
opens it and I say Alexander, and he goes, I don't know if
I believe that. So her editoris on zoom the whole time, and
(56:51):
they're having this like deep romantic conversationabout their future and how they're gonna make
it work and oh and so theeditor watching, but so are Katie and
Winston are also there watching this wholeconversation. And then she's like, but
what about your mom? And thenhe's like there's more and and the spy
dude come in and they're like holdinghands in and love. So she's like,
(57:14):
oh, well, I guess that'swhat we're doing now. And they
kiss and then they kiss and that'sit, and and the and the publisher's
obviously very happy because she's going tochange it to this fairy tale end,
in which like, right, ofcourse, like I must agree. It
was a little bit of self commentaryonce again, right for Chris, what
(57:34):
Christmas Lian is I don't watch thesemovies so that these people don't end up
together. You're She's absolutely right. It isn't like that in real life.
And that's why I'm not watching amovie that is like real life. That's
why I'm watching this, right,That's why we're not watching a documentary,
you guys. I know, butI did wonder a little bit about what
(57:54):
happens to Taro via U in thetradition of the kingdom when both the queen
and her son go back with peasantsin hand. You know, I think
probably Winston and Katie are going toend up on the throne. Yeah,
maybe the queen or I kind ofthought maybe the queen does the thing where
(58:16):
like what was was Queen Elizabeth theFirst had her affair with John Brown or
whatever, and you know he waswell Queen Victoria, yes, and just
uh, maybe they go back andit's sort of a secret relationship. Yeah,
yeah, But then there's that wholething of like, how it's gotta
(58:39):
be so weird to go from beingsomeone's servant to their partner. Yeah,
I don't know. I'm concerned fortheir relationship. I don't know if it
can work well. I mean it'sobviously going to because I know they basically
went all the way right, Yeah, called hands with someone that you didn't
(59:00):
marry. No, come on,one, am I thinking? Well,
had happy ending. Bubbo Harry Pottermarried Bubbo Dove Cameron and Bubbo Jordan Peterson
married the Queen Bee, And we'reall assumed that Katie and Winston at least
had a fun few weeks together atthe very very least. Yeah, at
(59:21):
least went away friends, very goodfriends. I think they're going to be
besties now, yeah, at least, yeah, totally well, And I
did really appreciate m Olivia's huge byNew York City standards, huge apartment.
She's a perfectly famous successful author. She must be because that apartment, because
(59:43):
of her Wikipedia entry that she's superfamous. That apartment had to have been
about ten thousand dollars a month atleast in New York City. I was
like, Okay, she must bepretty successful. Well, Amelia, Um,
I do want to just let's rundown because this isn't a Christmas movie,
but it takes place in Christmas Land. But let's let's talk about some
(01:00:07):
tropes. Was there a precocious kid? No, no, no precocious children?
Okay? Was there someone falling offof something? I don't remember any
falling well, nay, like dovein the volleyball game, and maybe maybe
(01:00:28):
you could could you count the kayakbecause she fell off the kayak and then
she pushed them over. It wasa little plateful thing. Yeah, I
think we can. Maybe it mightbe that might fill that void. Yeah,
or the thing we might say isthat they bumped in. Maybe that
meat cute was a little bit ofa fall because then they had an opportunity
to touch and lock eyes, whichis the whole purpose of having someone fall
(01:00:52):
off something true? All right?Okay? Was there a contest or a
deadline that needed to be met? There was? There was a big fundraiser
and her outline there were two right? Okay? Good? And um?
Was there were Was there any baking? No, no baking. You're an
(01:01:14):
all inclusive island. Yeah anything?Yeah, nobody was making anything. There
wasn't even decorating even together. Idon't know how they threw the fundraiser together.
By the way, maybe that's whythere were employees in the lab.
Ever they were decorating the whole time. I'm sorry to question the efficacy of
this marine research. I just maybesomeone should talk to the donors at this
(01:01:38):
fundraiser and be like, have youseen any annual reports? What did they
do? Yeah? The fundraiser isjust for the next fundraiser, right,
um, Okay, good kiss atthe end before an interrupted kiss in the
middle, A situation that could havebeen easily solved with a conversation. Yeah,
(01:02:02):
but then they had the conversation. They did have the conversation, but
I felt like there was another situationlike at the end that probably could have
been solved as well, if ifshe had just said, you know what
your mom just said to me,Yeah, maybe they could have avoided all
that. That is true. Okay, no guest houses, because this isn't
(01:02:24):
all inclusive resort. No black mare, uh black a POC best friend yea?
Yeah, person of color yep, chuck. All right, what am
I missing? Busy businesswoman, toobusy for love? Yeah, yeah,
(01:02:45):
I don't know if that exactly yeah, not really, and that's not always
in every movie anyway, but itis bag ex boyfriend in the city.
Yes, yeah, all right, great, well, I have to say,
good job, great American. Lovedthis movie. I enjoyed watching every
second of it. It gave meexactly what I wanted. I do want
(01:03:07):
to ask you, Amelia, whatdo you think the main industry of Charovia
is? What do you think Charovia'smain industry could be? Now they have
a royal keep in mind, theyhave a royal family. Okay, it's
obviously a traditional nation that values theroyal family quite a bit. And I'm
going to assume, given the excellenceof the people involved, that it's somewhere
(01:03:31):
in Europe, right right, Soyeah, I think that they are goat
farmers who make wool. They exporttheir goats wool to the whole world.
Okay, So Charovia's main export isgoat's wool. Yes, Okay, I'm
(01:03:53):
gonna I'm gonna okay, very good, very good. I'm gonna say simonds,
and they have a real child laborproblem in Tarovia. Okay, yeah,
um no, no, I likegoats will be wool better. I'm
willing to believe that it's it's goatswool. It does feel like a place
that doesn't have a lot of likecity like industry. Yeah, and mountainous
(01:04:18):
to me, So I thought therewould be goats. Yeah, Tarovia.
Yeah, okay, we'll go withthat goats. It is well, all
right, folks, uh um,that is a prince in paradise. And
if you ever come across some Tarrovianfine wool, let us know. And
also remember, don't go on vacationswith people that you've just met. It's
(01:04:42):
not it's not a good idea. It's probably not going to work out.
Um, what do we have comingup, Amelia? We are going to
do a Christmas movie again. NextIt is another great American Merry Christmas wish
starring two of our old favorites,um, Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathis and
great not to say that they're old, they're just old favorites of ours,
(01:05:03):
Yes, exactly, there are alot of time favorites of ours. I
know I do want us to Iknow you're still sour on Lori Laughlin.
I want us to watch the LoriLoughlin movie. I was watching it the
other day. I was watching thetrailer for it the other day. I'm
like, Okay, I just wantto see if I'm ready to forgive her.
(01:05:25):
I just want to know, soI'm curious as to how I'm gonna
view her. Also, fun thingabout Great American they play like murder,
she wrote, marathons. How oftenis that? I love it? I
love everything. Yeah, I guessthat's their filler, you know. I
mean they're a new channel, soyou've got to get some fillers. So
(01:05:45):
they play Colombo, they play murder, she wrote, and they play um,
oh, little Hells in the Barry, So that's there sort of.
Yeah, they have those marathons,so they're actually this weekend as a murder,
she wrote, myrathon. I'm like, you know what, I might
just sit down do that. It'sbeen a while since I've watched Jessica Salva
a crime. Well, I've hada great time talking about this movie.
(01:06:06):
Once again, we loved it.So don't forget to tune into our film
next week. What was it called? Again? A Mary A Mary chas
wish, A Merry Christmas wish.So if you want to follow along with
our commentary next week, go aheadand watch that Amelia until we meet again.
(01:06:26):
