This is the FCB Podcast Network.Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all
the way. Oh, how areyou sorry? Please excuse me? Kira

(00:27):
and my friend Amelia. We're decoratingthe tree and Amelia's just baked some fresh
sugar cookies and there's hot chocolate witha stick of candy cane hanging out the
top, hanging out the top ofthe cup right there on the counter for
you. Thanks for coming in andjoining us as we get ready for the

(00:47):
holiday season right here on a verymerry podcast. I'm your your host,
Kia Davis, and I'm here withmy lovely co host, Amelia Hamilton,
and this is our season preview. We are lining up the season for you
so you can get ready to watchalong with us, laugh along with us,
and have fun along with us.Amelia, do you have your hot

(01:07):
chocolate? Do you have your marshmallows? Are you ready to go? I
am ready? It is season fouralready for us. I'm so excited.
I am excited too. And it'salways We've had several times where we've tried
to stop doing this podcast and wecan't because we love it so much.

(01:30):
It's true life gets busy and we'relike maybe we shouldn't. No, we
can't. We can't give it up. It's too much fun. No,
it's it's like the coolest thing wedo. So we have been hard at
work already actually lining up some stufffor you, and so we wanted to
just break down for the listeners whatwe see the season, how we see
the season shaping up, movies thatwe're getting ready to watch. So you

(01:53):
can either watch along with us orAmelia. I know, we have plenty
of listeners who don't even watch Hallmarkmovies. They just listen to our podcast
exactly. So either way, watchwith us, just listen. Either way,
however, you consume the Christmas Verseand enjoy with us. That's the
whole point, isn't it. It'sjust to enjoy yourself. There's literally no

(02:15):
ulterior motive here. There's no there'sno messaging, there's no we don't have
any like agenda. There's literally nothingto do but enjoy yourself. So all
you like to do is listen tous, make fun of the movies.
More power to you. Before westart, as always, we would just
like to say that we appreciate allthe creators of these movies, and we
know what goes into making a film. There's a lot of work, a

(02:36):
lot of effort on the parts ofa lot of people. And so while
we lovingly chied the cheesiness of ourChristmas Land movies, we do so with
great respect and love. So congratulationsto all you creators for making and finishing
a film and everyone else. Let'sget started. So, Emelia, what
do we have coming up first onthe schedule for our listeners. We're gonna

(03:02):
sort of rewind the clock a bit. Yes, so this year we are
doing a mix of new movies andolder favorites or some not so favorites to
be honest, as we went backand watched them again. Yeah. So
the first one on the schedule isactually a new one for this year.

(03:22):
It's a Great American Bringing Christmas Home. And this was It just came out
a couple of weeks ago, andit is a movie where an antique dealer
and a military historian are working togetherto return a lost World War Two uniform
to its rightful owner. So theyhave to work together try to find find

(03:45):
this veteran, track him down, see if they can find his family.
Return they find like a love letterin the pocket. It's the clue.
So, oh you love these? You love these? By the way,
Amelia picks are movies, and soit's not a surprise to me that she
picked this one. She loves theantique verse. I do love the antique
first. But we should also sayit's not because I'm power hungry that I

(04:09):
pick the movies. It's because Ibetter movies. So she's she's better at
We've settled into our roles here atav MP very nicely. I am.
I'm just the the host. I'mthe Ryan Seacrest if you will to to
Amelia's Katie Perry slash Lionel Richie orwhatever, but whatever it is, we

(04:34):
love a movie that involves a task, right, like something to solve together.
And of course there's always the angleof new loves thinking about old love
and it inspiring them. So soundsright right up our line. And there's
a Christmas deadline. They want thisuniform return by Christmas. So it's about

(05:00):
reminds me of the film we did. Was the guy that was a time
traveler. Do you remember he wasa time traveler and he I mean,
I don't know why time travel I'mtrying to remember which one you know,
there was one. It's the onewith the guy and the girl and they
don't like each other at first, but then they follow up later they end

(05:23):
up Yeah, all right, wellfair enough, what's next on? Okay?
Next on the schedule is an olderone, a Christmas Prince. So
this was like when Netflix first triedto get into the Christmas Verse. This
was their first one, a ChristmasPrince, and it is a young journalist.
She's a gossip columnist, heads overto Eldovia. We love the fake

(05:46):
European names to report on this, like playboy prince. See if he's gonna
take the throne or abdicate, ifhe's going to be a responsible man or
not. And she is undercover inthe castle, and I'm not going to
say anything. I'm not going tosay if they fall in love. You're
just gonna have to find out.No spoilers, Amelia, We will give
no spoilers. No, you're notgoing to know if any of these people

(06:10):
fall in love, to be honest. No, And that's you know the
fun part, you go, it'sit's a nail bier every time. Yes,
that's all right, great, Andso we're expanding the universe a little
bit. I think that's the giftI guess that Hallmark gave us with their
change in formula. We were lookingoutside of the traditional Hallmark universe for some

(06:31):
other offerings and we did a couplelast year and that was really fun.
So this one's on Netflix. Youguys, go watch it and you'll have
fun. I suggest you watch thisone. You'll have fun following along with
yeah, all right. Up nextanother new one from Great American Journey to
Christmas, and the log line onthis one is, well, on a

(06:53):
charity press tour, a model endsup stranded by the weather at the family
home of the drivers you hired assisther for the week. So we love
a stranded story. We love stories. This actually has a lot. It's
the it's the stranded story, sowe love it when two people get stuck

(07:15):
together, like I'm thinking about thewedding cabin I think was one that we
watched yahok up at a cabin onthe mountain. And then it also has
a road trip element to it,which we love. Yeah, we love
the road trips. And then there'sthe other element that it's the fish out
of water, so it's a sophisticatedperson going to the toothless Hicks, you
know, the regular here's the driver, Yes, the driver. So that

(07:40):
one, this one sounds fun.I have high hopes for it. Yeah,
anyone knows that we know in itor did you look at these are
new people for us. Great.I'm looking forward to it, charm meeting
people. We love it. Okay, So then the next week, we're
going to take a little break andit's just going to be you and me
talking about out the season so far, what we've loved, what we haven't

(08:01):
liked as much. Maybe go backto, you know, in the first
season, we used to talk aboutsome people from you know, our like
ninety sitcom stars that we wanted tosee back in Christmas Land. So we'll
go back and do a little bitof that too, Yeah, which I
think will be kind of fun.And we're gonna need the palate cleanser because
the next week is one. SoI was just bragging about how I picked

(08:24):
the best movies. This is theone. This is the one that's gonna
prove me wrong because I was soexcited to rewatch this one, and then
when I watched it again. Thisone was originally on Lifetime, and I
think we watched it on Prime.I think it was on Prime this year,
Dear Santa, and it was definitelylike the lifetime version. It was

(08:45):
Dear Santa. It's I think it'sdefinitely a lifetime movie. So it was.
It was so cute, but itwas it's a little edgeyar, it's
a little bit more grown up.There were some there were some I or
if there were exactly swear words, and then there were a couple of times
where they like take the Laura's namein vain, which we were not into.

(09:05):
There were a couple of like whenthe you know, there's always there's
frequently the dynamic where the you know, the main girl likes the guy and
then he has kind of a rudeother girl in the picture and she says
some some stuff and the girl justtakes it. The main girl takes it
well, this girl collaps back, which we kind of liked. Actually,
she had a little bit of anattitude though. It just it was not

(09:28):
your typical Christmas Land movie and wewere a little bit like, oh what,
I did not remember it being quitethat spicy. Yeah, we we
said we've already watched this movie, and we said that this wasn't a movie
that took place necessarily in Christmas Land, but Christmas Lands less like poorer,
more ghetto sister city holiday Land, right right, So it's still fun though.

(09:56):
We had a good time, Yes, we did like it. It
was it was quite a bit oldertoo. It was maybe ten years old
or something, so it was whilethey were still you know, even Hallmark
was still kind of figuring out theformula, and Lifetime was like, what's
Lifetime one? So it was itwas something else at all. Right,
Next up, we are obviously weneed plenty of royal ones. We've got

(10:18):
two royal winds in a row,a new JF one called a Royal Date
for Christmas. Love this one becauseDanica mckellor. So when a European duke
arrives in the US, he realizeshis bags have been lost in transit.
He has no choice but to bestyled and ultimately inspired by Bella, the

(10:39):
owner of a local boutique. Everythingthat I want, that's everything. It
has Ganica mckeller, It has aprince princess royal storyline. It has Danica
mckeller as a dressmaker slash seamstress slashcreative person, and she is Oh I
love watching her. Like fix menthat's what she does in the movie.

(11:03):
She's always like, I'm gonna fixthis man, and she always fixes the
man. He fixes him, he'sgonna be he's gonna be great by the
end. And then every man inin Christmas Land, every man that you
want to fix is fixable. Andit's actually not a giant red flag that
you need to run first. Right. Yeah, he's gonna yeah he is,

(11:24):
Yeah he is. He's ready forpersonal growth and he's excited about it.
Yeah he's not gonna get part waythere and freak out and run.
It's okay, all right, becausehe just got scared. Got scared because
I love you. I don't knowwhat we have next? Another royal one,
all right, so next, anotherroyal one. We've got This is

(11:46):
another old favorite twenty eleven. Aprincess for Christmas. This is Sam Hewan
when he was young and cute insteadof older and hot. And this is
a young woman that's Jamie Fraser fromOutlanders. You guys don't know. So
this is a young woman travels toEurope to stay in a beautiful castle for
the holidays at the invitation of anestranged relative and finds herself falling for a

(12:09):
dashing prince. Stick around for thecrazy trivia that Kiera, the actors,
everybody, you do not want tomiss that episode. We've already recorded it,
and trust me you, yeah,Amelia is not lying to you.

(12:31):
You will want to listen to thatepisode. You're gonna want to know what
I found out about it. It'sglorious and I will say that. Listen,
ladies. Sam Hewan, it's nothingto sneezeid. He's like even ten
fifteen years ago before his like Hollywoodglow up, he is still looking mighty
fine. So check that one outme. Okay, this one, okay.

(12:54):
The next one is called Christmas onWindmill Way. It's another new one
from an American I one chose itbecause it stars Chad Michael Murray. Was
he not on our list? Ineed to go back and curate our life.
I think he was. I thinkhe was. I also chose it

(13:15):
though, because it is about theyhave to work together to save the town
Windmill Okay. We love a storyand you got to work together to save
a town something or save a familysomething. Yeah, Mark and I were,
so it's yeah anyway, So thethe girl in it is he has

(13:37):
to sell the her windmill to theproperty developer, and of course the property
developer is had Michael Murray, herex boyfriend, and you know the whole
thing. So it's got everything wewant, property developer, busy businessman to
busy for love or other deadline, yes, all of the things. So

(13:58):
Mark and I were shopping over theweekend and we noticed that the annual Christmas
tree sales farm was going up inthe parking lot. You know, they
were starting to block it up andI and then I said, oh,
we've been thinking about what we wantour retirement business to be down the road.
And I said, oh, maybewe should grown Christmas trees. We

(14:20):
can do that anywhere there you go, and he said and he said,
no, I don't want to owna Christmas tree farm because at some point
we'll have to save the Christmas treefarm. Okay, Well, you're just
afraid that you're gonna fall in lovewith your one true love obviously, right.

(14:41):
So okay, so has one ofthe many ex boyfriends you had I'm
sorry, repeat that, one ofthe many ex boyfriends you had? Oh
yeah, right, my recker passed. I was twenty four years old when
I get married. I no chance. Okay, So we're looking forward to
that. That's brand Neil and GreatAmerican knocked it out of the park last

(15:05):
holiday season, so we are definitelylooking forward to going on this ride with
them again, this sleigh ride again. Wamp. All right, well we
have coming up next. Then we'regonna take another little break, have a
look at what we've the next littlebunch of movies that we've watched before.
The final couple, Christmas Incorporated, which is another older Hallmark movie we've got.

(15:28):
This is another. We've got busybusinessman who has to decide if he's
gonna close down the small town toyfactory. We've got a mistaken identity with
his assistant who was trying to helphim find his love of Christmas. Again.
It's a lot was This was amovie that you and I have already

(15:50):
watched, and it was like fifteenmovies that they took like five plot points
from each and tried to shove theminto one. But hey, it was
a Christmas movie. It was aChristmas and we watched it, So we
watched it. That's as much asI'm going to say about this movie.
But definitely, I do I recommendevery movie that we watched because it makes

(16:11):
the experience more fun when you followup. Definitely, Yeah, we had
fun. And then the last oneof the season is another brand new GAF
called The Twelve Games of Christmas.A group of old friends and neighbors are
transported into a Christmas themed board gameduring a Christmas party, and I think
that sounds super cute. It's alittle bit different. It's not like a

(16:33):
it's not a plot that we've hadbefore GAF diversity. It's a black people
movie we've had. I didn't mentionwe had diverse casting and some of the
other ones that I was going through. It's not I feel like last year
was pretty white. I'm jf wehad the spot it was the black person
a little bit more than more thanusual. But but yeah, we've got

(16:56):
quite a bit more diversity in thisyear's line up. And then ending up
ending with the season wrap up,well, I'm looking forward to seeing how
Great American handles season two. It'sinteresting that you say you're noticing, you
know, more than purposely diversify, and that's good, and that's actually how

(17:18):
it should be done, if youask me, it's be a natural progression.
It shouldn't feel like something that shehorned in, but rather something that
fits in with their with their brand. So I'm interested to see this particular
movie. I love that that jumanG aspect. You're right, it's something
that's a little out of the ordinarythat we don't always see all the time.

(17:40):
And every once in a while theChristmas land slate surprises us like this,
And I'm trying to think. Ithink last year the one, oh,
the one that I found very happilysurprising was three, three Wise Men
and a Baby. Yes, yes, even though we were scandalized by the
towel No, I'm still I wasliterally just talking to Mark about that the

(18:02):
other day. Oh, I waslike, oh, I can't believe what
I just saw. So I loveto get a little movie that that steps
outside but not too far outside, right, Yeah, the Boundaries. Well,
I'm really looking forward to it.We've we're already hard at work,
but some of these shows we stillhave to watch, you'll watch along with

(18:25):
us. But I'm really excited aboutthe Christmas season. And one thing that
I have noticed is that whenever Isit down and watch these movies, I'm
not thinking about anything else. Andthat is I'm really not thinking about anything
else, not even if I'm notliking the movie, I'm right. You

(18:49):
get to be in Christmas Land fora little bit, oh man, and
it's nice. It's nice. Soit's good to be back. Before we
let people go, though, Sotell people our contact information and then we
want to encourage people to get intouch with us, and if you have
a movie that you would like usto watch specifically, maybe dop a Christmas
movie on one of these channels. And you're like, I wonder if a

(19:11):
million kiro would do this and sendus a request. We'll pick up a
request here and there. That wouldbe fun, and or let us know
your thoughts on some of these filmsthat you've seen and weigh in on the
podcast ahead. Yeah, absolutely, and some of the non movie review episodes.
We're definitely going to be going throughsome of the comments and things.

(19:33):
So send us some good feedback. So on Facebook, a Very Merried Podcast,

And you can email us at aVery Merry Podcast at gmail. That's fantastic.
Well, Amelia, I've got toget going up thet to get a
lot of resk because we've got alot more movies to watch, Cookies to

(19:57):
me are going to be busy.Yeah yeah, I've got a I've got
a new step ladder, and I'vegot to make sure to loosen up one
of the rungs on it so youfall out my arms absolutely, absolutely my
ankle, so that somebody else canfall in love exactly, exactly, write
a million until we meet again.I wish you days filled with hot chocolate.

(20:26):
And I had some protagonists who startout really cute and then age into
super hot guys who just want tobe your husband throughout all of eternity I'm
speaking about. Oh my gosh, thank you. I feel like mine is
really weak now because I was justgoing to wish you a hot chocolate with
marshmallows and whip cream, and Ifeel like that's really weak now. But

(20:51):
it's not. No, it's actuallyperfect because I have the dude, you
know so, but the hot chocolatesounds really good. Okay, so that's
fair enough. All right, MerryChristmas, Amelia. We'll see you all
