Speaker 2 (01:14):
We'll talk a little bit about what happened the night

in the game. For anybody out there that watched it,
we'll discuss sixers later on. Offense continues to baffle the
Philadelphia Eagles and Eagles Cowboys previews everything we got in
store for you, and ties into our pole question, the
(01:35):
Eagles offense. I mean, it's the conversation everywhere, as it
should be, and we're gonna we're gonna dive into it
tonight and.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
As we should.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
So our poll the caumera performance and structure of the
Eagles offense is good enough to win a Super Bowl
this season?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Do you agree or disagree? Let us know. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
That's what we're live every where. You get your podcasts
with air as well. Get the like subscribe, Wow, U
join the conversation. Bab bab, come on in with us.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Say hello. It's a tough poll question, right.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
We were just talking about for like three minutes before
we were coming on, and then we get distracted and
we were talking other things, so we didn't really even
we didn't even finish the conversation about it, right, just
just a tip to see how it fell.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
And I guess we didn't like it.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I guess we didn't like it, which is what we
is how we feel about the Eagles offense. It's just
it's not enjoyable to watch. And and it's really clear.
I mean, I hate Chris. I don't hate Chris Collins.
I don't hate any of these announcers. But I'm not
I'm not a conference guy. He's old now.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
He just isn't doing it for me. He's not understanding.
He's losing. He's losing it a little bit.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I'll say that, okay, But you know he's right about
it's all set up by him running the football and
run the football is Jaling. Running the football is RPOs.
Run the football. It's keeping one of the like I
sitting and saying for years. And I'm just a guy
over here. I'm not a guy that's gonna tell you
I know more than negative. I mean, I feel like
(03:09):
I do, but I'm not gonna tell everybody. I'll tell
you guys on the podcast, but.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
I'm not gonna run around the streets. You know a
guy who's seven eleven or a wha wha you know,
no play you.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Know, give us some money, Please give us a sponsorship,
a couple of gift cards. But I'm not gonna go
up to the you know, the cashier nords you anyway.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
But I'm not gonna go to cashier and and be
like I know more Nick Year.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I mean no, But you know I feel like I
do because the R P O game and what that
provides and how brings guys up, that's what sets up
AJ one on.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
That they might hand you a fucking application.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Well I'm here, I've been here for Howie for years
and he knows it.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Now you know it, and you guys been starting to
show it and you fumbled and then you didn't want to go.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Back to it, and I get it. I get it.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
But that's that's like, are we worried about him getting
hurt fight running the ball five times?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Like early in football games? We're not tall.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
I don't want I don't need him running late. If
I set it up early, it's it's one on one.
If I set up him using his legs early, okay,
Now I don't need to set it up later that
I set it all up early and the guys are
down in the box, or I just throw over here,
you know what, okay, and now you're playing. Now you're
playing back. It's easier to run the football. So I
(04:23):
mean pick the poison. But but I said it a
week ago. I'm not gonna change my stripes on it.
His Eagles offense still is good enough because they're a chameleon.
I really believe it. They're a chameleon. If you put
pressure on them, don't score with you. I'm telling you,
if you put pressure on them, they'll score with you.
Now we're gonna post this, and then they're gonna play
the Cowboys, and now it's gonna be the greatest show
(04:43):
on turf, and they're gonna score a lot, right hypothetically,
and then you know, we'll lay a goose and the
time you're wrong.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
But I really believe they're a chameleon. I really truly
believe it.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
You know their performances, I can't say I agree with,
but I also don't disagree with it.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
And something I created at A two D.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
I'm in the middle, but I'm gonna go agree because
of the fact that I do believe.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
They're a chameleon.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
And I do believe if you want to go run
and gun, go play that style. If you want to
play a different style, if just say you want a
seventeen twenty seventeen game, they'll play that you want a
thirteen to ten game, they show you.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
They'll play that too.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
If you want a thirty four twenty eight game, they'll
play it with you. So I really truly believe that
they play to the offense, plays to what they're they're
getting from the other side, and when our defensive dominant,
they play down in a weird way. And guess what
when you get a defense like this, why are we
(05:44):
even us include why are we even opening opening period
with this offense? But what I mean, and the more
I think about it now, is we're five minutes in
Donald sixth will we even open it with the offense?
For this is the most dominant defense we sell again,
and it's carried on from last year through the Super Bowl.
Got off to a little bit of a you know start,
(06:05):
and then Vic again puts his fingerprints really on it,
figures out what he had and you get a great
addition in Jail Phillips. And now you take a defense
on another level because there's pressure, you're playing with confidence,
and where's Luke at because it's because his boy playing well?
Speaker 4 (06:21):
But Dorry Jackson look like you found it again.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Go back to a take that you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Because if you're getting pressure, you're gonna make a Dorry Jackson.
The guys playbatter. It's it's not that that hard, you
know what I mean, that's for any corner. But back
to this, I'm gonna agree one because I don't want
to take this.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
It went man by Elk. But the elephant in the room,
in the easy one is the defense, right. But more
so I'll go just because that I think they're a communion.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
I really do think they could play any style you want.
If the Cowboys come out and running gun us and
we give up points and we're in the high twenties,
I believe we'll be in the high twenties with like
I just feel like, well will play that whatever brand
you want to play. So giddya, let's go. We're absolutely
good enough. Don't tell me differently, don't mean the chat
(07:09):
tell me differently. We beat everybody. I mean, who else
is left for us to smack around? Okay, we smacked
it around everybody. We smacked them out early with our
offensive stuff. Now we're smacking them around even more defensively.
So who else wants to come around here?
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Or we'll go there?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
I mean, we've done that too, and when we go
to the lambet, we just shut you down. Okay, so
watch your mouth when you're talking about us, all.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Right, watch them out, everybody. Oh Broncos defense.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Okay, man, they're one of the two teams that beat
this so we'll give them a little credit.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
But but we won't see them until the till the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Ring right over? Yeah, now, talk to you, talk to
you next week. See it.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
No, you're right, Tommy, it's one of those It's one
of those pole questions where you can be in the middle, right,
we can. You can make a lot of disagrees. You can,
you can make a lot of agrees. I'll agree and
I agree with everything you said, but I'll also go back.
We've all watched worst offenses win a Super Bowl on
the backs of their defense. All you need to do
(08:19):
is is have timely scores and you know, and extend
drives when when needed to keep to keep their keep
your defense off the field a little bit, right.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
But also, if you want to, if we look at
the Eagles offense this year, we've also seen it.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
This year.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
We've seen every version, as you say, Tommy, right, the
keamelion in us. We've seen the running gun shooting out
with Minnesota. Right, we've seen the high flying explosion against
the Giants, and then we've also seen the dud against
the Giants, right, the give up against not scoring in
the second half against the the Broncos, which gives us
(08:56):
a loss. And I think the other factor is in
this too, is these last two weeks, we've essentially played
two playoff games and won them both. And if you
do that in the end of January February, you're in
the super Bowl for the Eagles as the number one seed.
Because our schedule, we just went through the gauntlet of
(09:16):
our schedule eight and two. Right, everybody we got coming
up doesn't have a winning record. Right, We're gonna flip
the script on what the Seahawks did earlier this year.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Right, they went the easiest schedule on Friday. Yeah, they
don't concern me.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
But again, they have a winning record. But that's right,
But they are.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
But we have one of the easiest red schedules for
those that track that to end the season. Right, So
I think our offense has done it this year, can
do it this year. So I'm going to agree, But
there are things that I do disagree about this and
what I need differently from the offense. But I see
(10:02):
for some reason, when they need.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
To do it, they do it. So it's not really
a huge giant concern for me.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, they played at a score. Yeah, I come down
with you. They play with their food, they're like.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
You yeah, yeah, I get more.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
I have more issues with Sirianni not putting the ball
for we're gonna give it to you here. I think
there could be defense.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Is that good?
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Right now? There could be a thirty for thirty?
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Uh, you know twenty years from now, right, it might
be a sixty for sixty at that point, Okay, but
you know there'll be something they like, like it was
like a manual class throwing first pitch balls.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Like oh you know what I mean, Like like something will.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Come out, not not gambling wise, it's like, yeah, we
just you know, we played down, we played to the score.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
That this is who we were.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Like, something will come out, you know about that when
it's all said and done, because I feel like they've
done that a lot. Yeah, But I also feel like
before you go, right, I also feel like it's just
another change in the coordinator, another thing, and when you
guys are done, you know, I want to.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
I got I gotta hammer in.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
On a beat reporter who's been doing this a long time,
but he needs to get absolutely annihilated tonight and a
crumbin a month.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
A guy, Look, I understand how good the defense is,
and they're you know the fact that the Eagles can
can go out and score.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
Ship kick three field goals and go win a football game.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
Yeah, like, realistically, I can't. I'm gonna give you some
stats which completely null and void everything that I'm about
to say.
Speaker 7 (11:45):
Like the Eagles are.
Speaker 6 (11:45):
They're twenty seven and three in their last thirty games. Yeah,
they're like in the in the Syriana. I think they've
only lost like five games where they've lost the turnover battle.
This team doesn't turn the football over and they're so
conservative with everything, like, and their defense is just so
good that they can score.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
You know, I could go play wide receiver. We win
football games.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Which is like the one reason they collapsed.
Speaker 7 (12:09):
It's insane.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
They collapse of one years because of their defense. They
didn't collapse because of an offensive collapse like two years ago.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Right, they clapped because of their defense. We were atrocious.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
What we were twenty eighth in the Lager yes.
Speaker 8 (12:23):
Yeah, collapse because Desig and fucking Matt Patricia had no
clue with what they were doing.
Speaker 9 (12:31):
Yeah, But like I know, I I disagree because the
fact that, like there's this offense and the amount of
star power you have on this offense, there's no excuse
to be putting up less than twenty plus points a game.
Speaker 7 (12:46):
Like the fact that we scored sixteen points this last week.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
We have a couple of games where we just absolute
duds and we're just not moving the football.
Speaker 7 (12:54):
How was this team leading the league in three and.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
Outs like I saw, Like you have three of the
top four route runners. You know, the guys are just
running hitches all day, Like god her, Aj and DeVante
Smith are three, two, three and four for most hitch
routes run in the NFL.
Speaker 7 (13:16):
Like I don't know how many times.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
I've said on the show, if you just throw a
slant to AJ Brown, he's getting six yards every time, right,
And then when you're running second and short, right, then
you can get a little bit, you can run, you know,
get two or three yards and then you're in tush
push territory like I saw. I saw one clip where
(13:38):
one of the first plays of the game they ran
a play action and uh Detroit was in a base
set four to three. Right, they run play action and
every all three linebackers come up and then there's nobody
in the middle of the field to throw over the
top two there's just everybody in the bunch went right
and then I think a Jo was out left and
everybody's just single coverage. If you do anything to get
(14:00):
somebody behind that, like you're gaining fifteen twenty yards. Why
is everything so difficult? Why is it so difficult? Is
it the play calling because of what Patullo's doing? Is
it because of whatever strife that I don't believe in
that's going on in the locker room?
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Is it?
Speaker 6 (14:16):
Is it just like they refuse to do anything that
could consider something of risk. Right, It doesn't make any
sense to me that you have guys that are all
pro caliber players and you can't move the football, And like,
who's more frustrated? See exactly who's more frustrated? Is it
the receivers?
Speaker 7 (14:36):
Is it Jalen? Is it the offensive line? Is it
safe one?
Speaker 6 (14:39):
They can all be frustrated, but like that has to
be something. There's been too much going on. There's been
too many people talking about how the offense doesn't work,
and you throw out.
Speaker 7 (14:48):
The same thing every single week.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
Right, there's gonna be a point where at some there's
gonna be a point where the defense doesn't hold a
team to under twenty points and you're gonna have to score.
Speaker 7 (15:00):
When are we going to be able to do that?
Speaker 6 (15:02):
Lee's like, go go back and look at film from
twenty two, go back and look.
Speaker 7 (15:05):
At film from last year.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
Cross that routs, pick plays, rub routes, whatever you need
to do, make some easy completions. Why is every throw
that jailing has to make a one on one deep
ball where a guy has to win, Or like, why
why is it tight window throws all the time? No
wonder you you're no risk offensive of doing anything. Nobody's
getting separation because a lot of teams just play zone
against you and you're not like they're in double triple
(15:29):
coverage all the time, or you're running play action and
your guys aren't running a route that's gonna be able
to do something with it. It's incredibly frustrating to watch.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Now.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
Obviously the defense is a reason we can get over
all of that, But I go back to two weeks ago,
when you're coming off the buy and you can't move
and came the football at all. Last week games on
Sunday night, you're not moving the football at all.
Speaker 10 (15:51):
Now we couldn't even get a fucking toush pushes.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
Everything just seems off.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
And thank God for Vic Fangio because I have no
idea where.
Speaker 7 (16:03):
This team would be without him. It's actually incredible.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
But do you disagree?
Speaker 4 (16:07):
I disagree.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
I disagree that like this, this this team, like with
as good as they are, this it's ridiculous that we're like,
we have to have this conversation. But no, the offense
as it stands right now is not.
Speaker 7 (16:20):
Good enough in Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
The play call needs to be better, routs need to
be better, decision making needs to be better, the offensive
line needs to be better. Everything needs to be better
now whatever. The main takeaway from that is if it's
a combination of everything, or if it's one specific thing,
I don't know, but it's gotta be better, has to be.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
I mean, look, Ryan, to your point, I mean, we couldn't.
Speaker 10 (16:44):
We couldn't convert a fucking third and third and inches
and fourth in inches for Christ's sake, Look a lot
of our I mean, there's many problems here offensively.
Speaker 8 (16:55):
The biggest one is this offensive line is so beat
fuck up it's ridiculous. And Cam Jurgens is out again,
and you have Lane Johnson who probably won't be back
for four or five weeks at minimum, and it jesus it,
(17:16):
it takes a toll on you after a while. And
that's why there's a very little running room for Saquon Barkley.
That's why there's not a whole lot of time for
Jalen Hurts to be able to look downfield and find
the open man. And that's why that that's why that
(17:36):
I'm thinking this coaching staff, Patullo and Sirianni in particular,
are hesitant to take a lot of chances downfield because
simply because Halen does not have the time back there.
The offensive line is in such a rut and such
a mess right now. And they haven't been all bad,
(17:59):
and I don't want to say they've been complete hot garbage,
all right, but when you when you're so beat up,
and you.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Right, when you have guys in and out of the
lineup all season long.
Speaker 8 (18:12):
And have no continuity, it really makes it tough to
get into any type of rhythm to be able to
sustain drives consistently and move the football down the field.
And it's no surprise to me that we're well. We
either lead the league or one of the league leaders
in three and OL.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
We lead the league in three and OL.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
So it seems like it seems like it's all or nothing.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
This goes back to I mean, you make great points.
I mean this goes back to the fact that you
went up front. So when you talk about rhythm and
timing and offenses, I look at it.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
There's two. There's two glaring things.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Not as much pass protection as is run blocking, okay,
but there's two.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
There's two glaring things.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
I think it's one are offensive line and in two
another another new playcred these good better are in different
I don't we don't know essentially yet, but another new one.
And I think that's there. They're the two hard things
that take time. I mean, goodness, gracious, it's ten weeks.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
We're eight and two.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Like I'm gonna see the here right and say, I
want to believe that they're good enough and we'll raise
will rise at a level. And somebody presses them and
somebody puts it, puts it on their defense that they'll
rise to protect their defense. I want to believe in that.
I want to believe in this in this court. And
(19:40):
Jalen Hurts as just a winner because that's always done.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Here, all right, and now before you finish it, I
just do it because I'm in it. I'm in the
moment now right.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Like the reports like I don't say anything, Derek Gunn
stop it, like stop it.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
You're not allowed to reports up anymore.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
When you put Carson Wentz two point zero into a conversation,
which own hurts fire yourself.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Right, that's egregious, that's what that is. That's not even
it's not even reporting.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
That's like, look at me, let me have seybody clicks
I can get for this outrageous article.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I mean, that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
When when you talked about Carson Wentz, who's going rogue
the two separate things. Corson didn't win ship here as
a starter, all right, he didn't.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
He we don't get there at him. But he did it.
He didn't.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
He didn't.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
He wasn't Super Bowl MVP. That was the other quarterback
and the other quarterback.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Okay, so please, when you talk about respecting the locker
room and you talk about the way guys have always
respected Joe Hurts and his leadership. Now we're gonna start
questioning that ship at aim two when all they do
is win.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
That's all they've done, Like Ryan said over in Nick
Sirianni error, that's all they done.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
That's all they They are going to continue to do
unless this local media divides it. And that's what we're watching,
and us and a fan base are allowing this to
happen in front of our faces. We know what's happening.
We want we still want to click it, we still
want to listen. Stop listening to it.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
None of these guys are credible. None of these guys
incredible anymore. Nobody's running to the media in twenty twenty five,
going on twenty twenty six. I'm telling you the guys
that aren't just running, I'm just begging at eight and two,
you're begging just to be like, oh, Jales Carson two
point zero essentially, And that's what we're saying, like their
(21:28):
kind of reports we're putting out there, and we want
to allow a guy like this to have access into
this locker room. I'm not telling you locker room's gotta
be a dictatorship by your owner. But if I'm different, Lorie,
I've had enough. I've got enough of a stupid questions.
I had enough about the AJ Brown questions. I didn't
know about jailing and AJ questions when he's the godfather
(21:50):
of his daughter, like I had enough of at all.
You know about grown men playing a competitive sport, and
we don't think it's all kumbay A all time. Holy shit,
if you think it's all kumba all the time, I
got beach front in Idaho, wherever, North Dakota, anywhere where
(22:12):
there ain't no beaches.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
I got the front for you.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
The joke that you, guys all think that the best
of friends can't have some clashes through a season, through
the intensity of games, through watching film together and seeing
maybe saying things differently, agree to disagree, but you think
that can't happen, and you think greatness, You think greatness
(22:37):
this sits back and it's like, oh, we'll get it
next week. Or you think there isn't communication, collaboration and
maybe some arguments that come out of it. Guys, you
never played a competitive sport in your life, and you
ain't even good at checkers. You ain't even because you
don't got a competitive bone in your sack. Okay, they
(23:02):
even compete in checkers, right, you never threw a paddle
and you know in madding you never launched a paddle
at frustration.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Yeah, that tells me.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
You know, if you think it's all, it's all kombay
a and they can never nothing, it ever nothing, everything
be perfect. But if you really think that A J. Brown,
or you think DeVonta Smith, or you think anybody with
some real goddamn substance in that locker room, it's going
to Derek Gun or running the d gun and being like, yeah,
(23:41):
I mean is Carson One's two point out essentially and
that's just what the gun used.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
But obviously the.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Guy would would elaborate on those types of behaviors, right,
which again I have no time for for a guy
whose character issues and different things were the things when
you're on Dragon night, you.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Can't question.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
You couldn't question it on Draft night, Holy ship, we're
gonna question it. Always done his win and he got
Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP, and we're gonna
and we're gonna question it now not to and a
like to eight, I get the question.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
I'm right there, waiting. I can't. I can't wrap my
head around it. L I'm reading and driving at the airport. Yeah,
I might be talking about City Dad for Tanner for
a year.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
We might.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
We might bring back Carson Wentz.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Take a step back. We're not doing that, but let's
take it like that.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
But all this dude, like, all he does is win.
All he cares about is winning.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
It's only that's why I agreed to the pole. There
you go.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
Look, there's so many frustrating things about this offense. Right,
Jalen leaves the league in passes of over twenty air
yards of like actually like completions of over twenty Jalen
leads that category.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
So he can We've always known he can throw a
good deep ball.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
How can we not stream up something like that at
least a couple of times a game?
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Why does it always have.
Speaker 6 (25:09):
To be uh one on one that like you know,
AJ gives up on because of the balls out of bounce?
Speaker 7 (25:15):
Like what are we Yeah? Just like I just throw
it up right, Like.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
I'm realistically asking, why don't we go back to things
that work?
Speaker 7 (25:27):
Or if your offensive line is banged up? What works
really well?
Speaker 6 (25:31):
When your offensive line had banged up, run an r
P O, run an RPO set.
Speaker 7 (25:36):
We won a Super Bowl with that. Just running straightly.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
R pos don't run up the middle, right, get to
the outside like we talked about last week.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
It's I think.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Week went right up to the middle.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
This is another common sense thing that we're just work.
We'll just passing by.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Like like as a fan base and in the.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Media are just driving by the fact that our running
back did what he did last year, and it's such
a long season and the game plans are all set
up to not.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
And beat them, and the wear and tear.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
That this was gonna be a down year now that
we expect this down no, right, but you combine that
with the offensive line and you getting down down down here.
I mean to me, I'm giving tenk bigsby eight to
ten garies. A game should be like, I'm just doing it.
I'm not crowning him. He's not better than Sakuon Barkley.
It's not that conversation.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
It doesn't need to be that.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
It's a look. It looks. Give teams different looks.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
There's certain things I stand by different looks, and when
a mobile quarterback I RPO, you're asked to death. I
do what I do to that, I do the death
and it might be straight past from the huddle. You
understand like it can't be not everything is like I'm
gonna be predetermined. You can you can predetermined huddle that
(26:57):
we're throwing the football here right, so or were running
it here like that. All can be predetermined. But now
you keeping it right? You keeping it on a run
play is a different conversation, right, But you can even
get to look there to know you're keeping it.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
So come on, guys, this is all this is all
trained up. This isn't hard. It's just about them running
it more.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Because that's an easy way for them to get his
legs going early and just break off a ten fifteen yarder.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
And now he now that you have to worry about
jailing hurts.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
And I think when you have to worry about jailing
and his legs is when his offenses takes over. Because
now you can't just zone you up. You can't just do.
You have to you have to mix up your looks.
You have to bring guys downhill, got to play down
hill more in the RPO format.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
They absolutely have to respect that.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Absolutely, and if you're thrown out of that after you
after you gash a couple, you gash a couple and
then throw out.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Of it, it's game over.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
And I'll say this, the last thing I think that's
killing them is everything they get something going, there's a penalty,
there's something that sets them back every time. It's not
even you can't get in the rhythm when you're constantly
playing behind, playing behind, and they play behind the time
this year.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
So they got to clean their life up.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
And that's that's usually stuff that happens after you win
a Super Bowl too.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Sorry no, no, I was saying.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
A lot of that is is that offensive line, right,
They haven't been better.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Enough this year?
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Is gone three weeks in a row a huge, huge
penalty to start a drive off or to kill a
drive right, I mean, Jordan, my daughter has got almost
I think it's at least three games in a row.
Because he hasn't been good this year. He has not
been good this year. And and and I think that's
again through your point, Tommy, why and to what we've
(28:52):
all talked about, right, but like why, yeah, let's give
Tank a little bit more, not even necessarily like will Shipley, okay,
but like mix it up, give defense is something different
to look at. So that way, when Saquon comes back
in the game, maybe there's a hole there now, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
And if nothing else, he's fresher.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
Yeah, he's not taking a hit here, you know.
Speaker 8 (29:15):
I mean, look, guys, I mean I couldn't tell you
how many instances I forget who I mean, I know,
mile lot I had a few costly penalties, but there'd
be a there was a third and short or a
fourth and short where we had a pretty damn good,
good chance to convert it and boom fall start penalty
and now we have to pump the football.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
I mean, little things like that ultimately will get you beat.
Speaker 8 (29:42):
And you know, if we can clean that up and
continue to play relatively turnover free. I mean, as you know,
I agreed to the poll earlier. Yes, I think this
is a super Bowl team, even with say a quote
unquote subpar offense. I mean, hell, if this defense continues
(30:03):
to rise to the elite level that they were last year,
I mean, I think we can beat anybody that's in
front of us.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
But.
Speaker 8 (30:12):
We are making it that much harder if we can't
get something going a little bit offensively. I mean we
I mean, even if we don't score thirty points a game,
I'd at least like to get to the point where
we're sustaining a drive, you know, go on those six
seven eight minute drives that we used to go on,
(30:35):
you know, because it seems like it's been boom or bus.
It seems like it's either been a three and out
or it's a three play, four play eighty yards or
a scoring drive or whatever.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
I'm almost at a point where I'm gonna put on
my tinfoil hat and just say we're playing possum just
to fuck with people.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Yeah, we're playing food.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
Like we're just like, oh yeah, we're just gonna do
the bare minimum.
Speaker 6 (30:58):
We're not going to show you literally anything until the
playoffs and the forty every game.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Like I love that because it would make it would
make it seem so much easier.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Better, right. Drama Yeah, yeah, they're just yeah right, so.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Yeah, like every everything is just making there's meetings and
like the meetings on like Mondays, like, yeah, all right,
what drama are we talking about this week?
Speaker 7 (31:26):
Okay, what's new?
Speaker 1 (31:27):
All right?
Speaker 6 (31:27):
Oh let's uh, let's let's have Grant Cockatoo is one
of the worst blockers in the league block every snap.
Speaker 7 (31:34):
Let's do that this week and see what happens.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
Yeah with block eighty one eighty five according to PFF,
like we was thrown back out there, Like let's.
Speaker 7 (31:44):
Just let's just see what outrageous thing we can do
this week. Let's just go three and out for the
entire first half. Can we still win? Yeah, we can
still win?
Speaker 4 (31:51):
All right?
Speaker 6 (31:52):
Cool, We're gonna play up then, like like.
Speaker 7 (31:55):
Uh, I don't know who will play the first round
of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
We'll finish are some of their buddy they tell their buddies.
Speaker 8 (32:01):
Who, hey, hey.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
What the rolls around?
Speaker 1 (32:12):
You know, we can't That's what I was sort of
going with earlier.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
That's what we're saying, Like in the sixty for sixty
down the road, ye talk about there was some point
could they do They're that good to be able to
do it?
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Yeah, they can.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
They can light switch at any point.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
So yeah, well who we'll get?
Speaker 6 (32:31):
Like, I don't know the the Rams will win the
division and then Seattle coming here has just been blowing
everybody out and winning.
Speaker 7 (32:40):
It won't beat them forty two to seven, just like
some dumb ship like that.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
I truly believe we I truly believe we'll start to
figure stuff out.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah, I think we're too smart. It's a unit and as.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
A group, you would hope to figure that out in
the buy And again, I think I'll say this a
million times. Play calling comes down there back play caller
having a feeling a rhythm for the game.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
And I think when you're.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
Struggling like you are, stay weekend, week out, it's our po,
it's up tempo, it's get on the ball, and it's
try to just try to just put people in what
you want them to be in, right I come in,
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
That's where I go.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Like, you know, I if I'm struggling as a play
call I'm saying, we're on the we're on the football,
and we don't.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Get a first down.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
We don't get it first down anyway, We're either not
gonna get one or get one. But like, if you
don't try something new, you don't know. And I you know,
I think they could do more of that, but because
when they do do it seems like they move it well.
But it's just the penalties Like Saqualma run one for
ten twelve yards and you got ten yard holding penalty.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
So they just keep getting nipped in the in the ass,
and they take the football away.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
They don't turn the goddamn football over because that's shale hurts.
And if you keep doing what they're doing, like somebody said,
you know, John said nobody, they can beat anybody, and
they had beat everybody.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
So like you know, Buffalo is gonna be a big test, right, but.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
It might not matter at that point, it.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Might not matter, but still a test. But yeah, again,
my point is we've had plenty of tests. That doesn't
define us, right, We've had plenty of them.
Speaker 5 (34:19):
So the other the other thing too, it's it's when
you look at this and Noah, you hit it on
the head with the offensive line and the sustaining drives, right, Like,
we haven't seen that this year.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
We haven't seen them.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
And there's been multiple times I figured the Bucks game
because I know I was saying it in the stands, Right,
you get the ball back with five minutes left, let's
go end this game. Even if we only get three,
let's go cut off four minutes of the game, make
a two score game with a with a minute left,
you got no shot.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Right.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
That was the same thing here, same thing this week
even before the bogus, the bogus pass interforits call.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
I was gonna tell you we got Kip there. If
it wasn't for that I call against Detroit, God only
knows what we'd be talking about right now, we're.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Just talking about a win.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
No, come on, thinking ship that day.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
Come on, I think, Jared Goffina, I hear you, and
we probably But.
Speaker 5 (35:18):
But that's the point, right, Like that drive though four
minutes left, three minutes left, why Sirianni goes for it?
Speaker 4 (35:25):
There is?
Speaker 5 (35:26):
That's that That's that drive that you usually go for, right,
that's a drive that you usually ice the game away because.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
We're so good usually at running the football. And if
you look at.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
The stats, right, like our passing game stats are essentially
the same as they were last year, it's our running
it's our running stats.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
That are just drastically different. And you go back to
the offensive line had last year, which is so different.
Speaker 8 (35:48):
Right now, Sekwon Barkley has six hundred and sixty two
rushing yards. Now, he'll probably get to one thousand or
maybe even twelve hundred before the year's out, but it's
still half, you know, slightly over half.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Of what he had last year.
Speaker 7 (36:07):
Yeah, look, hey, Saquon insane le here. Last year he
had a thousand. Yeah, you know he did. He did
everything we asked him to do and then more.
Speaker 8 (36:15):
And think, right, we would be fools to think he
could replicate exactly that, of course, but it just goes
to show not necessarily not it's not a reflection on
Saqua Necessarily.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
Yes, he's having a little bit of a down.
Speaker 8 (36:30):
Year, but really it's how beat up we are on
the offensive line, and it's it reflects on how well
the O line played last year, you know. And believe
it or not, they were a little nicked up last
year too, I mean we were. We remember Jurgens, you know,
gutting it out, you know, through the playoffs and you know,
(36:54):
lo and behold he's been bitten with the injury bug again.
And we remember Landon Dickerson gut it out, you know,
beat up at times last year. But for whatever reason,
you know that there was better continuity last year. There
there weren't guys shuffling in and out of the lineup.
We didn't have to rely on on Brent Toath or
(37:17):
whatever his name is to play any meaningful snaps. So
I don't know, we got to get this O line healthy.
If this O line can get healthy and stay healthy
by playoff time, I have no doubt that we're going
back to the super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (37:36):
I mean, you're you're in a spot where I mean,
you beat Dallas this week, you essentially clinched the division.
It's not it's not officially over yet, but you you
beat Dallas this week, you.
Speaker 7 (37:46):
Like, essentially the division's done.
Speaker 6 (37:48):
And then you know, you you don't want to lose
any games because obviously you want to have those.
Speaker 7 (37:53):
You know, everybody comes, you want to have.
Speaker 8 (37:56):
You want that most importantly, you want that buy.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
You want to buy so you can you know, get
as much.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
As you need.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
We need that buy.
Speaker 6 (38:06):
Yeah, especially if you could have you know, if you
can clinch everything, if you clinch the one seed, especially
going into week eighteen where you can rest for two
weeks right like we did last year, Like that'd be awesome, right,
But you know, ultimately it comes down to getting everybody
on the same page, because I don't know if everybody's
(38:26):
on the same page.
Speaker 7 (38:27):
The defense, obviously is the offense needs to be on
the same page.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
Which for whether it's communication or timing or play calling
or whatever, it is, like I don't need them to
put up fifty a game. Give me twenty eight, like
this offense is too good to be able to not score.
Speaker 8 (38:45):
Give me twenty game, Give me twenty and win the
time of possession, you know, have the time of possession
if you have the ball for thirty eight or forty
minutes of the game.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Hey, I'll take that too.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
You know, I just want to I just want a
game where the offense looks like it's moving the ball easily.
Like We've had one or two games like that all year,
and I can't even remember.
Speaker 7 (39:10):
Which ones they were.
Speaker 8 (39:11):
So at this point, I'll take just moving the ball,
you know, moving the ball and keeping the opposing offense
off the field. And for this week, I mean, I
know we all love to trash the Cowboys, and for
the most part, they've looked like ship this year. But
one thing I'll say, and I hate to admit it, Yeah,
(39:33):
at times, offensively, they've looked pretty good. And it would
behoove us to keep Dak Prescott off the fucking field.
And if we're able to do that, you know, I
see no reason why we can't win by double digits
down in Arlington on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (39:50):
Yeah, I mean again, it's the defense is so good, right,
Quinnon's been the best corner in the NFL this year.
Last year he played, yes, I think he played every
snap on either the right or left side. I forget
which one it was. But then now he's literally traveled
with the number one receiver and I think last week
(40:10):
he had like six or six or seven like targets
and like didn't allow completion right which, and then he
had a couple of pass breakups. Obviously if Coop and
the slot which is great at Dorri Jackson's been playing
really good.
Speaker 7 (40:24):
Which we mentioned already.
Speaker 6 (40:26):
You know, yeah, would you have five batted passes between
Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis to sleep?
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (40:34):
Uh, Jalen Phillips had a sack like like the seven
was outstanding.
Speaker 7 (40:40):
Defense is really really good.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Yep.
Speaker 8 (40:43):
Yeah, that front seven there and more importantly, they're taking
a lot of pressure off of the secondary, you know,
and it's it's quite frankly helping guys like a Dori
Jackson who are kind of you know Jackson in particular.
Speaker 3 (40:59):
You know, kind of subpar corner.
Speaker 8 (41:01):
But the way if we're able to get after the
passer and we we give Jared Goff almost no time
to get the football off. It'll give a very average
corner like a Dory Jackson.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
It'll make him look better, you know.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
But yeah, well we've always talked about that, right, Like we.
Speaker 5 (41:18):
Talked about that, and you know in the in the
spring and fall in the summer, right like when you
surround guys with better guys, they generally step up, yep,
And they raised their level of play, right like a
Dory Jackson. The last few weeks had made you forget
about the calamity that Jayira Alexander cost, right or what
(41:39):
you thought was going to help this team at the
trade deadline, right A Dorry came back from from from injury,
came back from the bye and and all of a sudden,
it's like now he's got his feet under him again
and he feels like that he could compete again, and
that confidence has gone a long way over the last
couple of weeks to show that he still is able
to play here on a good defense. And I think
(42:02):
that's huge for us because you obviously went out and
he made a move thinking that you were going to
try and upgrade the position or at least throw another
dart at the board to see if it stuck right,
and and Dorri Jackson's answered that, he answered that bell
and and and it's it's good to see because you know,
obviously you went out there and made the deal and
(42:22):
the all season for him.
Speaker 4 (42:23):
It's not a long term deal, right, but you brought
it me because you go to get help. And now
he's showing that he can help.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Question.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
He's finally shown to be a meaningful peace.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
Yeah, he's a veteran.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
He's a veteran who was drafted to be like a
franchise corner. Was it maybe for two years in Tennessee
and and you know, fizz fizzle it out, went to
New York where guys go to die.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
In my opinion, game.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Here got off to a rough start starting again us
getting his beat wet in his defense, but I think
bigger than that, you bring in some competition or the
thought of competition, and then guys focus a little bit
more guys that want it right. So I mean, listen, man,
my computer sucks because I had to restart everything.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
That's where that's where I was.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
But yeah, I don't know what I missed, but I
just think that we're a really good football team. And
we're going to continue to prove that, but we do
have to figure it out offensively and get into that rhythm.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
That you didn't mess much. We're still eight two.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Yeah, I mean, I mean coming up on nine and
two and two.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yeah, thirty thirty four, thirty four to twenty four, Eagles
thirty four to twenty four. So I mean that's cute.
Cowboy's a little like that's cute. Yeah, I mean all
gonna say it's cute. I mean, people forget what happened
in Dallas two weeks ago before they're bye and they
go to Vegas. Were come on, let's be let's be real.
Not a good football team right now. They win that
(44:04):
football game, they win that football game, and now there's
socks of like, well, you know they could beat the
Eagles and they ain't gonna beat this team and that team,
and you know now they're in it, like knock it off,
not at all.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
Two editions don't make a defense.
Speaker 2 (44:19):
Both are good players, okay, so not taking anything away
from the additions, I think longer term, going in the
next year.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
They're they're two good football players.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
They got for sure, and to the rest of this
year they've dug themselves such a hole that I don't
I don't think playoffs should really be in the conversation
unless you're going to run, you know. And I guess
anybody can go on a run, and if they beat us,
then guess what they're gonna be feeling good about themselves
and the ability to go on that run.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
But man.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
Is, yeah, it is a damn good defense coming into
the big the big date, all right, Jerry can go
sit on sit and rotate.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Or you know, on the on the big the big
ball in.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
Dallas, the Big Ball, the big restaurant, and goo rotate
around on that.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
It's my president for my president, for Jerry.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Because I just think this is still if there's a
week that there's a week they're gonna come out, you know.
I thot it was gonna be last week because all
the conversation. Now you get listen, you're not in the cold,
You're not in Green Bay freezing. I think it's another
part of the offense, right that you can make the
case for This past week was Cole Ryan was there windy,
(45:36):
so not ideal conditions.
Speaker 7 (45:41):
There were three drops on the first drived. I was
losing my mind. I'm like, why the are we throwing
the football?
Speaker 2 (45:47):
What we drove by that? We drove buy that, but
we got to catch the football, you know what I mean.
We just drove by that like that didn't happen, but
we got to catch the football. Drop the first drive said,
it doesn't always translate the great offenses in those types
of weather games, and I think we've seen that over
the years. Doesn't mean you shouldn't or you can't because
(46:08):
we watch it in Buffalo with Tampa and Buffalo, but
a more trends to the side of lower scoring games. Okay,
this is closed doors. This is closed environment, right, and
I think he gets in the closed environment. I think
you can see a little bit of your explosion this week,
but I think it need to keep sake one to
eighteen touches. I'm gonna stand by this. Then we'll give
(46:32):
them too many touches. I give their touches to tank
Will I'm giving out touches.
Speaker 8 (46:39):
Man.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
I'm getting his legs fresh, because we know where a
playoff team get his legs right. I'm serious, Like I
would sit and talk to him out. You might get
ten touches to that. If he looks at me, funny, dude,
I'm keeping you right for the biggest part. Yeah, for
the biggest part. I need your legs. You're a tick
(47:01):
slower this year. Your tick slower because of the wear
and tear. You're not slower. But you guys get what
I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, the ability to break that tackle
because of the wear and there after last year, you're
not breaking that tackle like you would right when you
get the one on one and open space as much.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
Look at.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
That changes when you when your legs are fresh, it changes, man,
so and your body's fresher.
Speaker 3 (47:30):
Yeah, he'll get that burst back.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
I know.
Speaker 8 (47:32):
I agree, Tommy, and I you know I I look,
we're a good football team. Yes, there's certainly, certainly some concerns,
especially on the offensive side of the ball recently.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
But with all that said, hey, s JM. Hit the
nail on the head.
Speaker 8 (47:49):
Dallas's secondary is awful. In fact, their entire defense is awful.
There is no reason we can't come out, go down
there and fucking take it from them. Just go go
out there and take their fucking lunch money from them,
all right, take their lunch money, empty their fucking pockets,
all right, fucking you know, fucking grab their ankles, hold
(48:12):
them upside down. Make sure every nickel, dime, quarter dollar,
maybe even one hundred or maybe a twenty or one
hundred will slide out of there, all right, and fucking
squash any hope that Dallas has of making any kind
of postseason.
Speaker 7 (48:30):
Out.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
I don't I don't care if they rob.
Speaker 8 (48:37):
A convenience store on the way out of town, whatever,
All right, take everything from.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
Them, take it to them.
Speaker 4 (48:46):
Now's the time.
Speaker 10 (48:49):
Now we're in November, we're approaching Thanksgiving, it's getting laid early.
Speaker 7 (48:57):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
From kick off to the gun.
Speaker 8 (49:03):
I want to see dominance, and that's what we're gonna
see on Sunday Birds thirty four Dallas ten.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Let's go, let's.
Speaker 4 (49:14):
Go eason of giving.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
I appreciate the Turkey Thanksgiving everybody.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
Kyle Brant, who I mean Kyle Brant who? Yeah, there's
there's some great Ranners out there. Mcafeel you know that
epic mark it down, write it down right?
Speaker 1 (49:42):
In so thirty four fourt.
Speaker 2 (49:46):
That Jerry Nose guy is still playing eighty five Bears defense,
which I absolutely love.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
I just think I just think ever flow hits right and.
Speaker 2 (49:59):
You'll give up some points. Good it's a good offense.
You might be up big. Were you giving up the points?
You know, in mop up a little bit? Okay in
in stat pattern?
Speaker 6 (50:11):
Alright, God Ryan, twenty four to seventeen, Birds do twenty
four to seventeen. It's gonna be a drag out thing again.
It's gonna be annoying. We're gonna score a touchdown in
the fourth quarter. Goulp, it's gonna it's gonna be tied
(50:31):
in the third quarter. It's gonna be twenty four to
seventeen or twenty seventeen seventeen. Birds are gonna score a
touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Defense is gonna force
the turnover late, and we're.
Speaker 7 (50:41):
Gonna win on the run. It's gonna be a I'm
gonna be annoyed the entire game, and.
Speaker 6 (50:45):
We're gonna win anyway.
Speaker 7 (50:46):
This is how it's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
That's it.
Speaker 8 (50:50):
I'll be annoyed when we give up a fourth quarter
touchdown to give them the ten points. Say fuck, we
could have held them to three.
Speaker 7 (51:04):
Garbage time touchdown. Yeah, now, twenty four to seventeen.
Speaker 5 (51:12):
I get a little bit of closer game than everybody.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
Yeah I got I'm I'm right on the number. I'm
right on the number.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Three.
Speaker 4 (51:22):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (51:23):
Just there's two factors against them this week. We don't
play well without Leane Johnson, and the Cowboys are better
at home.
Speaker 4 (51:32):
They just always are.
Speaker 5 (51:33):
Most teams are, right, but the Cowboys are better at home.
I don't think they win the game, but I think
it's a little closer, unless, of course, we the offense
that we talked about comes out and just whips it
out on the on the star. Right, unless the offense
comes out and just whips it out on the star,
you know, like like t O did, right and just
(51:55):
and we just absolutely but we haven't seen it in
a couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (51:58):
We haven't seen it since the.
Speaker 5 (51:59):
Buy, which which is again go back to the boy,
going back to the pole, was you know a reason
somebody could disagree.
Speaker 4 (52:06):
Right, we haven't seen that offense since the buy. Uh.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
But I'm going I'm going, uh, twenty four Eagles.
Speaker 4 (52:17):
I'm right there on the number.
Speaker 5 (52:19):
It's the biggest thing is Leane Johnson, though, right, Like,
we do not play well or win with Lane Johnson
out of the game, I don't.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
Worry about We got Fred Johnson.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
I love me for Fred.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
I do love you Fred I read a SATURROI we're
actually good with Fred.
Speaker 4 (52:36):
And I love God, I love Fred.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
No, I got read it Satury.
Speaker 5 (52:42):
He's a great personality to have it in that locker
room and he and he's pretty pretty.
Speaker 2 (52:46):
Good when he put him in No, like we have
a we were like seven and two in his starts.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
Oh really was like that good?
Speaker 1 (52:56):
Yeah? I read that on Want.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
Yeah, like fuck cowboys?
Speaker 4 (53:01):
That good.
Speaker 6 (53:01):
Yeah, we're also forgetting. The Negles were in Kelly Green
this Sunday. They are Kelly Green from Kelly Green this Sunday.
First time they were in Kelly Green on the road
since they brought him back, and the first time in
Dallas since what the eighties, probably.
Speaker 7 (53:20):
Probably the eighties.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
It was gone for a while.
Speaker 1 (53:24):
Yeah, yeah, because he is.
Speaker 6 (53:26):
When when did they make the switch to Kelly Green,
like ninety one something like that.
Speaker 7 (53:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
Well they made this.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Back?
Speaker 6 (53:38):
Well, no, when when did they When did they make
the switch to midnight Midnight Green?
Speaker 3 (53:41):
I mean they went to four or ninety five? Now
ninety four?
Speaker 7 (53:50):
All right? So what the Richie co tight era? Last
time they were wearing Kelly.
Speaker 8 (53:54):
Yeah, rich coat tights last season and Philly was ninety four.
Remember when we started out seven and two and we
finished seven and nine. Yeah, usually when you lose your
last seven regular season games and missed the postseason. Yeah,
that's a pick slip wing to happen.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
Now.
Speaker 8 (54:18):
And then he went on to have a cradle holustrious
career with the New York Jets. He coached them to
a one in fifteen record. So there you go.
Speaker 4 (54:30):
The more you know, I love that s JMS defense,
getting Tuddy.
Speaker 8 (54:34):
Ennisse the Hello, wait give me a queen and Mitchell
pick six this week.
Speaker 4 (54:42):
Yeah, we're all in that same area. Dynasty ninety six,
ja coch ninety five.
Speaker 5 (54:46):
So it was very very shortly after the Lourie took
over to team Yep.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
Sorry, well I know Jalens.
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Jalen's numbers career wise are obviously down without Lane like significantly,
which I think we all knew.
Speaker 8 (55:11):
Joe, we played the Lions on Sunday and now we
played the Boys this Sunday.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
Ninety five that fucking season we went and what was it?
Speaker 8 (55:29):
We beat the Detroit Lions in the wild card playoff game,
put up fifty eight points with Rodney Pete as the
fucking starter, only to go down to Dallas the following
week and lose by more than three touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
So the Eagles when they win the turnover battle, right
Nick Sirianni.
Speaker 2 (55:57):
Forty in two, when they win at every battle, and
they turned to go over a few of us in
the NFL this season, and it's wild Eagles, right and too.
This is not like the This is like the biggest
common sense thing in the world. I'm still trying to
find that A little no note Eagles Eagles defense NFL
(56:20):
rankings tied for fewest pay I think DD's allowed nine
bets opponent's completion percent and fifty six point six that's
written in defense, batting the third and batting down balls.
So little little news and notes. But like it did
see something about Fred and we played well, but maybe
(56:41):
I didn't. Maybe it was a dream, maybe it was hope.
But he's serviceable. Yeah, so you know, I'm not worried
about it. Like if I can, if I can, I
feel a lot better about this.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
But you know, we somehow get these guys healthy. So
maybe the concussion helps them for the knee and everything.
Just to keep him out, you know, because he not
is he definitely ruled out.
Speaker 7 (57:07):
I don't think, yeah, he didn't practice today. We'll use tomorrow, so.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
We'll know more tomorrow with him.
Speaker 6 (57:13):
But still, I mean, if he's got a limited tomorrow,
I'm like, all he's gonna play.
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Yeah. But it's just a constant you know what I mean.
It's just a constant something with these.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Guys up front. And that's why our defense is so
good because the guys up front win. But back to
our offense. Man, there's a lot being talked about with
Jalen Hurts, and I think when you talk that ship.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
And his fingers are getting pointed at him and all.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
This ready for a three hundred yard day.
Speaker 1 (57:45):
Yeah, it's a monster game.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
This is this is two eighty plots, This is seventy
this is fifty to seventy five on the ground. This
is two rushing touchdowns minimum, two passing touchdowns. This is
a there's a monster performance Sunday afternoon at four to
twenty five in.
Speaker 1 (58:03):
The Little d D there's my player of the game.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
Offensively, just too much talk, right, too much talk about
about people, people not liking this, about what he's doing,
or this about what he's doing, or this or that,
or going rogue in the playbook like knock it off.
None of it's true. He comes out as a jail
on hurt performance because that doesn't have to be in
(58:29):
the pocket. Jail, Go be jailing hurts man. Go be
the reason you got this job. Go read, be the
reason you win. Right, and is protect the football, keep
it under twenty five attempts. Right and use the god
given ability to use your legs and use them smart.
Speaker 1 (58:50):
Pick your spot and use it smart. Let's go eat.
Speaker 6 (58:58):
Give me give me the best dressed guy on the
team this week. Give Met Smith, give me DeVante Smith.
Speaker 7 (59:05):
Look good, feel good, play good.
Speaker 6 (59:07):
I mean, one of my favorite players of all time
is n Eagle as an Eagles fan, is watching Smitty
catch that one handed like.
Speaker 7 (59:14):
That back corner of the end zone, dragged defeat and
the Kelly Green. He's gonna have something. Yeah, against Jacksonville.
Speaker 6 (59:21):
He's gonna have some sick suit on down in Dallas
this weekend. Pretty sure he's played. He's he shows out there.
I know he did for a fact when he was.
Speaker 7 (59:31):
Playing in Alabama. He showed out in that stadium before.
Speaker 6 (59:35):
Plus you know, AJ got fifteen targets last week or something,
so I think had one catch.
Speaker 7 (59:41):
So we're just gonna alternate back and forth. Yeah. Even
now he's gonna have uh.
Speaker 4 (59:46):
Safe to safe to say that gets a little bit
this week.
Speaker 7 (59:51):
He catches one and ten the tuddy he catches.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
Yeah, I love it. It's my son. Yeah, I mean,
no and Greg know it draft nice that that guy
is a gold jacket guy. So good he is.
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
He does play great in Dallas. So I love it
because they need to get it going. So God, now
as you give.
Speaker 8 (01:00:14):
Yours, tell you what I'm gonna steal yours and go
with Jalen. But there's a caveat to this. Both a
J and Davante go over one hundred yards receiving each
get at least one each find the one zone at
least one time.
Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
Oh, I love it. I mean it makes God people
happy when the play at home.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
Greg, Yeah, uh, I kind of want to go off
the board a little bit, but I will. Uh they're
their front's really good. So I'll stay away from I'll
stay away.
Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
From two six.
Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
Give me, uh, give me a J, give me a
J again, I'll back. I'll go with Noah's easy head
right now and and go over to Honda.
Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
With a tuddy.
Speaker 5 (01:01:06):
I mean we we you know, if Jalen has today
that we think he's gonna have.
Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
Everything's in play, right.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Yeah, there's the running and there's a running game. Give
me for a buck twenty and a TV too.
Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
I love that all right.
Speaker 7 (01:01:19):
So we're just going to purpose yards for everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
This isn't exposed It is exposed me disposal. This is
an exposed me game.
Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
They ain't good enough defensively for this, but they sit
around and to act like they are.
Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
It's not the case. Yeah, we talk a millions.
Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
They're gonna be able to move the football a little
bit once they turn it over, and then the whole
game changes on that if they do that, right, But
if they don't, they can move the football, So we
gotta respect that. They're gonna get points and that's we
got a hold in the three and then it's our
type of game. But I still believe that because they're
gonna score in the in the twenties, and if they
can score in the twenties, we're gonna play to that game,
(01:02:02):
which to me is they're going we're gonna score in
the thirties. So I'm gonna correct my score. It's actually
thirty five to twenty four because I was like, we
can miss an extra point. I mean, we can do it.
It's fine, But all right, defense, let me stay let
me stay high here.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
I mean, I mean, Jordan Davis, how about that perform?
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
But but I'm gonna go jail On Carter again because
he's been so disruptive since the addition of Jail and
Phillips and and BG coming back. He's just seeing he's
just just the.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
Veterans around him.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
And then the ability to have a guy next to
you like a flat out get after the quarterback and
gets more one on ones and and those two guys
together are done a great job of knocking down boss
and collapse in the middle. So give me, give me
the combo. But I don't thin anybody's gonna take them.
So give me the combo of own Carter and the
Kobe Dean because they just blow stuff up. The guy,
(01:03:05):
were you taking them?
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Greg? Keep it moving?
Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
I thought you're going. I thought you're going. Combo. Moose
is in the middle.
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
Nobody's gonna take. Nobody's probably gonna take Jordan's. So I'll
take I'll take Jordan Davis and jay On Carter players
at the game, all right, Davante David Javonte, What the
hell Williams. Williams enjoy your I hope you enjoyed your
Saturday night.
Speaker 7 (01:03:31):
You know that's fun.
Speaker 6 (01:03:32):
I just want to point out that I think Jordan
Davis is player of the Game last week, and Jordan.
Speaker 7 (01:03:36):
We got a lot of stuff right last week, n
f NFC player of the Week.
Speaker 4 (01:03:40):
We got a lot of stuff right at the show
last week. We got a lot of stuff right.
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
I'm just gonna say, you know, if you collapse the
pocket on Jared goff its came over, you glass the
pocket on Jared game.
Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
Over Zobe blowing up people on he does.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
I mean he's a he's a blitz monster. I mean
there's not a running back in the wage that's standing
him up.
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
This is it. We've watched him. He didn't kill David Montgomery,
Yeah kill.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
I mean absolutely destroyed like Davin Gummy you thought you
were baking.
Speaker 7 (01:04:13):
I think, yeah, this is a Nolan Smith week. Nolan
Smith week.
Speaker 6 (01:04:20):
You know he's back a couple of weeks now from
the injury, got his feetback under him. Nolan Smith gets
the second half this week. There go second half.
Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
I know, I say it a lot.
Speaker 8 (01:04:32):
And I haven't hit on it yet, but Watson give
it another try. Quinnon Mitchell picked six. I mean Dak
Prescott likes to throw it up, let's face it. Yeah,
and when he's under pressure, he's known for turning it over.
Speaker 4 (01:04:47):
Yeah, under pressure. Uh yeah, I'm going to Kobe Dean.
Speaker 5 (01:04:55):
Since his return, this off his return, you know, Nolan
Smith's returned, jail, Phillips arrival, beg return, This defense has
been on another level.
Speaker 4 (01:05:05):
We thought they were good before to buy, right after
the after the buye they've been.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
They've been special.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
They've been special.
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
And it's funny like creating the show and to pull
it this week, I'm like, damn, we should have saved
the I should have slapped the pole questions. We should
be talking about the Eagles defense like we've been last week.
Speaker 7 (01:05:26):
On this yep.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
Yeah, well it's it's loaded. I mean, it's flight outloaded.
Macouba was playing really well. It doesn't play like a
rookie like they said, which is true. You know, Jele
Hunt's been all over the place and that in that role,
you're just need a lot more production from guys, a
lot more energy from guys.
Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
I told you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
When you make moves like that, too. On side of
the football, it gives guys a little more juice too.
When you go get a guy that's a really good player, right,
it's a really good d end. It just gives juice.
You bring in Brandon Graham, it brings juice. Juice matters.
That's vocal or product or production, doesn't matter how the
(01:06:12):
juice comes, right, you know, you need to have you
needed the field juice. And they absolutely have it. Man,
I mean we talked about it for a minute now.
I mean you're literally replicating the best defense in college football. Like,
(01:06:34):
that's what they did. They said, I'm gonna go take
the three anchors of that. I went up the middle.
I'm gonna go take the three anchors of the best
defense I've ever seen. And that's what they did, maybe
not ever in the last two decades in college football.
They went to Jordan Davis Chanel and carter Na Kobe
d that's the three centerpieces.
Speaker 8 (01:06:54):
You're not that far off by saying best defense ever,
especially with the rules today in college.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Football and all that. They're pretty fucking good.
Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
And we talked about Jamon Walker. He gets in He's
a mess in Jacksonville, Right, So.
Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
You're the guy who went number one isn't even that
productive like these guys are.
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
Think about that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
The three pieces where you win in all sports is
up the middle, up the middle, right, you win, you
win a goalie and the NHL level at the at
the NHL, right, you need a great goaltender. Right, So
all these levels you win up the middle. So Baseball
up the middle, Football up the middle.
Speaker 1 (01:07:35):
And what do you got?
Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
You got Staples, and you got you got a monsterving
human being like something you would see in the Gladiator movie,
Like it's gigantic human And Jordan Davis and and maybe
one of the.
Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
Best seat tackles, the one of best tackles.
Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
In football, maybe one of the best tackles will see
here in our time watching the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
What's all said and done?
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
Right, you have those two guys, and and you got
lucky with Zach Bourne on him being awesome, right, not lucky,
but it's a home run. But the fact that the
Kobe and his leadership, like you said, Greg, and what
he does for this run game, it's the run game
difference maker in the Kobe Dean is and in the
blitz packages, right.
Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
But the run game, he's a game changer man.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
You ain't gonna sit there and go rush for no
Buck fifty with him on the football.
Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
But I'm telling you you're not gonna shove it up
her ass. You might, you know, I mean, you might
do something to everybody does. But he's that good and
those three guys are that good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
And I don't say I'm proud often, but I'm proud
of Howie Roseman for listening to this goddamn show.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
I'm proud of him.
Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
I'm proud of him, and leading up the draft nights,
when I told him where to go, it was very simple.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
For years, I said, how.
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Just go to go to go to go to Kirby Smart,
go to Nick Saban.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
What are you doing? These guys all can play? Why?
We said what? And then we waited it out.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
We saw the greatest defense in college football, or at
least one of them, and you went and took the
three staples from that. You do that, you're replicating it
now with a great coach at the NFL level and
VIC and we have that guys bought in here. We
are there's no it's not crazy on why this good?
Like it's not like, oh how did this happen?
Speaker 7 (01:09:19):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
How aredly this good?
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Like I think we sometimes we like got to smack ourselves,
right because it's like, man, this is that good a
modern NFL? Like, no, it's that and today's modern game
how good it is to shut teams down like that?
And it all starts, it all starts up up front
and it starts with those two guys. Now you need
the edge guys around the naturally to create the Georgia
(01:09:43):
what Georgia was doing to you, which was suffocating everything
you did. They suffocate your run game, you try to
pass and it's ten years back.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
And they went and played on the lead with you,
right or I got you. Yep.
Speaker 8 (01:09:57):
We held our last two opponents a single digits. I
mean in today's NFL. How often does that really happen?
Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
You know, well playoff team like it's not like we
out like yeah yeah, yeah, like okay, give.
Speaker 8 (01:10:13):
Me, give me no and it give me the Titans
come in, Tan, I should all the Titans.
Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
I should old the Titans and nine points. Right, you
know what I'm saying with this, what are you talking about?
You're about going to lambeaut against the Packers, who were
a playing team at the time and then were a
playoff team coming here, and that's an explosive offense. That
was the best offense in the NFL numbers wise, and
you said, let me failt to ask you real quick,
welcome to Philly. It's absurd And we got to pitch
(01:10:42):
yourself sometimes because that's why I say all the time,
this is what we asked for, like growing up, this
is what this is what we were.
Speaker 1 (01:10:51):
This is what we grew up on in the nineties.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
Man, I'm not trying to be known tonight, but we
grew up on the toughness of our defenses because we
didn't have offenses.
Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
So we grew up with We grew up with.
Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Reggie and Clyde and Jerome for you know, rest in
peace for a minute, right.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
We grew up with the set Joiners in the Byron Vans, right.
Speaker 8 (01:11:10):
And Byron we had to hold opponents under twenty points
to have a chance to win.
Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
But this city was built on defense, though, is my point.
We want that, We're built on the physicality. So this
is where I say, why do we get all caught
up in the offense right now? Like this is what
we want, This is who we are as a fanus
we love it, like I love the toughs of defense.
I'm not even bored anymore by because like it's not
boring to me shutting you down in today's world. That's Look,
(01:11:39):
this game's played two ways. We get caught up like
it's Madden, right, it's only played one way. It's not
played one way. Defense wins championships. You think Canna City's
runs by accident with Steve s Magnolla there, like do
we think it was it was an accident?
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
It was all Patrick Mahomes. Those defenses were awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
Yeah, and no Homes is awesome too, But you you
know what I'm saying, New England.
Speaker 1 (01:12:04):
New England defenses.
Speaker 6 (01:12:06):
How many games did Tom Brady was a coach, scored
twenty points?
Speaker 7 (01:12:11):
How many games?
Speaker 8 (01:12:13):
Hell, he won a Super Bowl where they he only scored,
They only scored thirteen and beat the Rams thirteen to three.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
It doesn't matter how you win one.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Right, that grade ruined, Yeah, it was that parade ruined
in Fox Barrow.
Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
I'm where they enjoyed the duck boats.
Speaker 8 (01:12:33):
Nonetheless, you know, on the on the Charles River or
where whatever the fuck.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
That preached, Greg preach, Greg Miller, there's nothing like Eagles
defense and that's what I'm saying, and I can't I
couldn't agree more. I mean, the Lions salked all this.
They were acting like we talked about last week. They
were going to war, right, there was World War three
up in here and what was taken from them and
all this. And you come in here and absolutely exposed
(01:13:00):
as the quarterback position because we are gonna rough your
ass up. And the second the second he started taking
hits early, like any quarterback, running guys have the advantage
of taking its early and then extending something to dewivering
to pay back to you in ways. If that's big
runs or if that's big big plays in the air,
then they return the favor.
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
Guys who can't move.
Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
I say, like we last week, a guy who can't move,
this defense will expose you.
Speaker 6 (01:13:28):
The Southern California boys played every game either in LA
or in a dome, Like, come on, man, thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:13:35):
Degree weather, you're not doing shit.
Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
That's why this week, that's why this week there'll be
some points. Right, that's why this week I think we
all think that they're Besides now that they'll score a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
I don't think that also score that much.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
Oh Joe, you hit the nail on the head, baby.
I mean, I've been talking about it. I'm not the
only guy, I'm sure out there talking about it. But
the r P O with design QB run.
Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
Slants the garter and aj outside runs as at halfback.
Diyes do that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
We score thirty plus a week. Everyone can see it
except the toa.
Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
I mean listen when they when they've ran it, they've
been successful with it. So to me, it's a no brainer.
You you have to use the quarterback. That's a weapon.
He's not a guy. He's not He's not Matthew Stafford.
And that's okay. Like it's okay. Lamar Jackson leaves as
(01:14:33):
most consecutive gives a touchdown pass and.
Speaker 1 (01:14:35):
He runs all over the place. But he runs in
the pocket, like you know what I mean. Like he
runs in the pocket and he still runs.
Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
You need your quarterback when he has the legs to
do it, to be able to use it enough.
Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
Yeah, do you put him at risk?
Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
Sure, when you put him at risk in the pocket too, Babe,
you're putting him less at risk there than in the
pocket because you're just reading the d N. Man, You're
reading the d N and it opens up so much stofp.
(01:15:15):
I mean, you were telling my guys running wide open
last year. What yeah, yeah, well yeah, they're great players.
But the run game all around was was delicious. But
though it's not actually if you started with it started
with people how to worry about jail and two and
they didn't game plan to stop Saquon.
Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
They just didn't. Why can't I pull this up?
Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
I think we leave We're like tenth in the league
in rush attempts too, so like we're but it's but
it's from the running you know what I mean, it's
more from the running.
Speaker 4 (01:15:50):
Backs where we probably at the same stat last year.
Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
It was more balanced though between jail and and and
not balance.
Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
I mean went for thirty five seventy five yards.
Speaker 8 (01:16:02):
Right your point, Tommy, That defense wins championships, or at
least in our division, it will definitely win a division title.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
We have the.
Speaker 8 (01:16:15):
Fewest amount of points scored total in our division. Right, Yeah,
Yet we've given obviously, we've given up the least amount
of points, and that's by a long shot. We've only
given up two hundred and one points so far this season.
Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
Greg he rushed, he rushed.
Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Everybody else has given up two ninety or more.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
He rushed like six something last year about four point
three yards of carry. This year he's averaging three point
six yards of carry two hundred and sixty five yards.
Speaker 6 (01:16:50):
So you could also know you can also put in
there that we've had I don't know what I know.
Speaker 7 (01:16:56):
Dallas hasn't there yet. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:16:58):
They did they yeah, they did.
Speaker 1 (01:17:03):
They just did.
Speaker 8 (01:17:05):
Yep, the the Giants and the Commanders have not.
Speaker 4 (01:17:10):
They came back and absolutely lit up.
Speaker 6 (01:17:14):
Since Hey, great job for them, dude, great job.
Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
How the guy averaging nine point two yards or carry
only averaging one point nine yards to carry a game?
Speaker 7 (01:17:30):
But ma, who is that is that? Tank?
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:17:38):
Well Tank didn't play for like the first seven weeks of.
Speaker 1 (01:17:40):
It doesn't equate that just to wait games played.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
I guess it does, But no, it doesn't because he's
been here nine nine games.
Speaker 6 (01:17:48):
He's been in there all right, So like like he
was also he was in the game, but he was
only getting like kick return reps.
Speaker 7 (01:17:56):
He wasn't getting carries.
Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
No, I got you.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
I'm just saying, like that's he's probably averaging about four
right if you break it down.
Speaker 6 (01:18:06):
I mean he had a game where he ran for
one hundred yards, So like, yeah, I don't know, man, Yeah,
the math a math in there.
Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
No, I ain't math in either, right, But like pants
first downs, we're thirtieth thirtieth in the lake birth downs period.
Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
We're twenty eighth. Oh terrible past it.
Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Pants yards were twenty nine before we were Last year,
rush average were twenty fifth.
Speaker 6 (01:18:33):
Terrible, Well, difference was rush average last year we were
top five, if not one.
Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Average yards of play twenty fourth plays ran, twenty six
yards total, twenty fifth points, twentyth the.
Speaker 6 (01:18:47):
Stop ular we're twenty sixth and plays ran. That means
our defense is out there shit t and they're still
holding teams to nothing.
Speaker 8 (01:18:54):
Awesome, crazy well, and the reason they're not getting all
that tired because defensively we're able to go out there
and give him a three and out.
Speaker 7 (01:19:05):
You know, it's mh.
Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
But Jaln's had an awesome year in terms of rating.
Speaker 7 (01:19:12):
Yeah, qb ring is great.
Speaker 6 (01:19:14):
He's sixteen to one interception to touchdown in interception ratio.
I think he's fumbled what one time from of all
over twice three times?
Speaker 7 (01:19:23):
Three times? What? Ten games? It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:19:29):
I just want, I just want and I can't believe
I'm saying it because he's such a weapon, but I
just want Saquon touches down the way he's averaging about
seventeen and a half guys, so you know that math
a math and either I feel like it's more, but
I really like his touches down.
Speaker 1 (01:19:45):
If that's that's three.
Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
More touches down, then there's three more touches like. I
just think they have to they have to go a
little thunder and lightning right now, because is more to
thunder right until he's lightning and breaking the thirty yard runs.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
I mean, I think Tank has the longest run. It
could be wrong on that and I am not, but
you're not far off, no I am.
Speaker 7 (01:20:10):
No, yes's got a sixty yards right.
Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
Sixty five?
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:20:17):
Forget it was like the first play in the game, oh,
the the second Giants game.
Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
Yeah yeah, so Dallas coming up obviously, Chicago Friday, that's good, Friday,
Black Friday.
Speaker 7 (01:20:38):
You got Chargers, I think Monday nights and.
Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
Then again and now I get a little bit more
extended time off.
Speaker 7 (01:20:45):
Right, you're playing the Friday what Washington.
Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
Vegas, Vegas at home Washington, so you get you get
home a little bit with that, with that, with that there, right,
get yourself home a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:21:01):
Your last your last four games or Oakland or not Vegas, Washington,
Bills Washington.
Speaker 7 (01:21:09):
Correct, so you can relax a bit.
Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
Yeah. There's not a lot of travel.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Yeah, and that's what we talked about last year, right,
which is important.
Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
There's not a lot of travel.
Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
There's one flight and that that's the Buffaler, not a
crazy flight, not cross the country.
Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
After the LA again after LA.
Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
But you get a little but you get a little bike.
Speaker 4 (01:21:32):
LA said, eight day rest, nine day rest.
Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
Yeah, so you get out there a little early, you know,
not think you get acclimated because it's day fifteen, eight
fifteen to eight fifteen, right, but.
Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
Then you come back and you got Vegas in Washington.
Say you're you're no plane. You're no plane three out
of four weeks there at the end.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Yeah, and then you're talking about hopefully a bye or
at worse you got a home game.
Speaker 1 (01:22:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
He might have.
Speaker 7 (01:22:03):
I think he might have missed this part. But like
the Eagles win this week, he essentially clinched the division.
It's not yet, but the division's over.
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
Uh, Joe, probably not, but maybe you never know. I
guess it depends what else they address before that.
Speaker 7 (01:22:22):
I find it very hard to believe you don't take
a tackle this year in the first round.
Speaker 2 (01:22:26):
Well, I put heart you don't believe take a guard
or a tackle one of those guys.
Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
Yeah, yeah, I mean whoever, you know in the deal they.
Speaker 4 (01:22:33):
Did just open up.
Speaker 5 (01:22:34):
They opened up the practice window for the rookie that
they did draft, Miles Hinton this week.
Speaker 4 (01:22:41):
They just opened that up today. Actually yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:22:44):
And then the kid from Michigan and you draft and
you drafted or you drafted the kid from from uh
Texas as well, who had the foot injuries last year
which making it made him drop, so they didn't go
they used high picked for offensive line, but they did
address the offensive line this past year. So uh, interesting
(01:23:07):
to see what this kid does. I'm not saying he's
a future either. I'm just saying they didn't invest a
little bit of late you know, late picks into somebody's
just massive human beings from big time programs that you
just open one of them pans out right.
Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
Well, yeah, obviously big recruits in some fashion or figured
it out on campus to become a starter. Right to
your point, I'm just hoping that you can find that
diamond in the rough. And like we talked about on draft, now,
I don't expect like, say, three of them all ahead,
but can you get one to be.
Speaker 1 (01:23:42):
A starter, right and a good starter, then.
Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
That's a home run. Right, then it's a home run.
But I do believe that somewhere in these first two
rounds next year, you know they're going after a tackle
or a guard. If not, but you know, there's really
not I mean, you can always use more d ns obviously,
but you know, in more corners. I get it, I'm
(01:24:07):
best player on the board, but I could absolutely see
you going you going corner and.
Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
And guard or tackle in some fashion. But I don't
want to talk that yet. But yeah, you know, but
that's the powers team finishes it off.
Speaker 4 (01:24:23):
Half your half.
Speaker 5 (01:24:23):
Your defense is up for contract this year also, but
you talk of na Kobe Jay when Phillips right, if
you want to extend them, we like, we can go
through that later on.
Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
But I'm saying you're right, you're either going heavy.
Speaker 5 (01:24:37):
Defense or you're re signing them all and have no
money and drafting all off.
Speaker 1 (01:24:42):
Well, I mean that's what I would do.
Speaker 7 (01:24:44):
Look, Hey, the cap doesn't exist. Hallie Roseman's wizard cap
doesn't exist.
Speaker 6 (01:24:48):
It's fine, Fine, everybody draft everybody, just keep it going,
just do whatever you want.
Speaker 7 (01:24:57):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 8 (01:24:58):
There's no question he going to focus on the offensive
line in the draft.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
Yeah you take best player, of course, but yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
But you don't win with those like flashy guys, right,
you win you like when you're when you're rebuilding your
offense per se, right, putting all your eggs and signing
your defensive players, right, you start that process up front.
You start that process, Elaine Johnson. You start that process
with guys like that that are ten year bookends for you.
(01:25:29):
And then you go draft your skill position guys, which.
Speaker 8 (01:25:34):
I mean look at the early two thousands with Thomas
and Runying. I know Runyan was a free agent, but
you know they were your bookend tackles.
Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
So on and so forth. You win upfront, period.
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
I mean, Devonte's twenty seven years old, right, so I
mean again another really young young player here, Like so
like when you're when you're going, you don't need to
go look for a wide receiver right now, Like that's
that's not really what you need to do. Like you
have you know, you have young wide receivers under contract.
Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
Maybe maybe maybe in the middle of the late rounds.
Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
Yeah, yeah, I'm a maybe a third or fourth time.
Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
Yeah, not in the first two rounds.
Speaker 1 (01:26:16):
No, because you've got to dedicate and you've got something. Picksbody,
You've so many.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
But the great thing about it is with all these
picks is like you can go sign these defensive guys
that you really need to sign, like m Kobe. But
guess what, the Kobe's not gonna make as much just
because the injury concerns he's had, So you're gonna same
with you, same with Phillips.
Speaker 1 (01:26:36):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
These guys banged up aren't gonna get the bag unless
you unless you win a Super Bowl. If you go
win a Super Bowl, then all bets are all from
what these guys get paid, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:26:46):
Then this conversation becomes a mute point. The first few.
Speaker 5 (01:26:49):
Weeks here Dalen Dalen Films is gonna make the bag
the way he's showing out here.
Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
Yeah, and he misses two weeks. I'm not that's been
Kobe's throw that out there now, like who else is up?
Jordan Davis? Davis up?
Speaker 4 (01:27:05):
Or one more year, one more year for Davis. Right, yeah,
let me see if I can find it. There was
a list of it.
Speaker 1 (01:27:15):
I just think they're going to get these guys because
I just I don't know, you know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:27:21):
I mean, Jordan Davis is gonna get a hundred million
dollars somewhere when you let that guy out your door.
I don't so if you've got a gun in my head,
like I talked about earlier, you can walk.
Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
The ends can walk, man, the ends can walk.
Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Sorry, Jordan Davis, Town Carter and n Kobe Dean cannot walk.
Speaker 1 (01:27:42):
Let the rest walk.
Speaker 4 (01:27:43):
Yeah, no, I hear you.
Speaker 5 (01:27:46):
Uh, Chief free Agents got her blanket ship Dean and Phillips.
Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
Yeah, that's not crazy. Well blanket then also, I let walk.
Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
The The hovering is jailing Carter, right, like do you
have all those? But the hovering is jailing Carter making
sure you obviously have enough to sign.
Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
Him, right, Yeah, But that's two years away, it is,
and you're gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
Figure out how to kick the can down the road anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Yeah, and Jordan David is gonna make one hundred million dollars.
So but yeah, yeah, and that's where I think they
will next year. But I think they let Reid go
unless read is on a really cheap deal because he
hasn't played great this year, Like in terms of pro
football focused rankings, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
He was, he was down. Not that I put a
lot of stock, but that's we talked about.
Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
I wanted to know that ranking, right, I need to
know where he shook out, and that's not ideal.
Speaker 1 (01:28:49):
So on a contract year, I hold the leverage there.
Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
But he's a captain, right, No, no, but.
Speaker 1 (01:28:54):
That's where I hold the leverage. Like, yeah, bring we're
not bringing it back for twenty million dollars a year. No, yeah,
I'll bring you back for for for for a four
or five million dollars a year. You know safety, Yeah,
you know you'll make thirty five mil over four years.
But I'm not going to give you anything. You know
what I'm saying. Yeah, he didn't get he didn't get
(01:29:16):
the bag.
Speaker 6 (01:29:18):
Yeah, And what's like Jalen Phillips, Right, I know again,
like he might get offered a bag if he shows
out the rest of the year, But like it was
two weeks ago or last week, he's like, this is
the best thing it's ever happened to me.
Speaker 7 (01:29:30):
This is phenomenal.
Speaker 6 (01:29:32):
You really think he's gonna want to leave a situation
like this where he just left Miami where he felt
you know that this this place sucks.
Speaker 7 (01:29:40):
Who's gonna pay him?
Speaker 6 (01:29:42):
Who's got money to pay him X amount of money
whatever he's worth per set right other than like Vegas or.
Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
Right when Jeffrey Laurie comes in, like and this is
where ian sentence come in, right, and this is where
you up in sentence for guys. They get him for cheaper.
It's like, you want to stay here. You've been hurting
the Kobe. You want to stay here.
Speaker 1 (01:30:03):
You've been hurt. We want you here, and centivize his deal.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
Game's played production, Just incentivize it more, you know, getting
the Kobe's at the Kobe should getting like seven and
a half eight million dollars a year. He hasn't been
on the field enough, right, So you do that and
you centivize it. Now you can afford to bring him back.
John John Campbell is on a five year deal, you
know what I mean. And I think he's I don't.
(01:30:28):
I think he's too small to play that.
Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
Role in the run game right now, you know what
I mean. So we'll say, but.
Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
They're in a great spot, Yeah, because like you know,
don't they can get out of all their deals. So
it's like, yeah, to be able to sign Jordan Davis
and Jail and Carter. You know, I love aj but
he won't be here at some point. He won't be
here at some point.
Speaker 1 (01:30:56):
You think he do?
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
We honestly think he's back next year.
Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
I think next year, depending how this year happens, he's back.
But I think the year after they get out of
that deal.
Speaker 6 (01:31:07):
I think, because there's a ton of dead money if
you get rid of them after this offseason, I think
there's still a ton.
Speaker 7 (01:31:14):
Of dead money. I'm getting rid of him yet now
it's not going to happen.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
But the following year after, like he's going to be thirty.
Speaker 6 (01:31:22):
Well, yeah, so he's he's twenty eight, he's gonna be
next year's twenty nine season.
Speaker 7 (01:31:27):
Now a year after that's thirty, So.
Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
Like thirty, I dangle for a third, Yeah, depending on
his production.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
The production's awesome, then I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
You know, I'm trying to get a second or first
for him, you know what I mean, right, sort of
what I get close to what I gave up to
get him, and I still have a number one wide
receiver here and now I got to go back to
the draft. I gotta go hit on a guy for
the next five years or four years in the in
the second round.
Speaker 1 (01:31:55):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:31:57):
So again, Caps bake.
Speaker 6 (01:32:00):
So if they if they have to move in this offseason,
don't I'm not.
Speaker 7 (01:32:06):
I'm not worried about it either.
Speaker 1 (01:32:07):
I think and A J might want out, like a
Sham says.
Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
I don't know if I believe that, but I think
the only reason he would want out is because.
Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
Of the media.
Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
I don't think he'd want out because of the winning
or the team or even that much as production, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
I think you would want out more because of the media.
I think the media.
Speaker 2 (01:32:25):
I'll say, if the media drives this stuff makes up
more than what.
Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
It is, I'll say that.
Speaker 3 (01:32:32):
I'll say this. If he ends up.
Speaker 8 (01:32:34):
Going to New England to play for the Patriots, I
think that could be an ideal landing spot for him.
You have a young, up and coming QB and Drake May,
and then you have head coach Mike Rabele for whom
he used to play for in Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
So yeah, I'm not ready to have back to talk again.
Let's goin to Super Bowl. Let's go win to Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:32:59):
So I area, well, let's let's beat the Cowboys this week.
Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
First, let's go handle business. That's right, I mean, six ers, raptids.
We don't got to get into anything there.
Speaker 6 (01:33:10):
I mean, it's just bad third quarter, twenty one turnovers,
short staff.
Speaker 7 (01:33:14):
Yeah, first night of a back to back.
Speaker 6 (01:33:16):
You play the Bucks tomorrow night without be honest, you know,
just tread some water, not overly worried about it.
Speaker 1 (01:33:26):
Okay, go get a win tomorrow. Yeah, go get a
win tomorrow. Hot stove, phils and you put it in here, gregs,
I know you got some.
Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:33:35):
No, I mean the only the only real news right
now is just obviously Shuiber and Ranger decline their qualifying offers.
Speaker 4 (01:33:43):
Wouldn't have hated, you know, wouldn't hated Ranger to pick
his up.
Speaker 1 (01:33:48):
Yeah, but that means.
Speaker 5 (01:33:49):
What that means, though, is is if they signed somewhere else,
we get a pick for him. Yeah, we had compensation
for him, to be honest with you, Just thinking how
Stove In general, I think the Yankees are pissed Grisham
picked up his option.
Speaker 7 (01:34:04):
Well, why why would you?
Speaker 4 (01:34:06):
I guess because they offered him, right, But why would.
Speaker 7 (01:34:08):
You offer him that it doesn't make any sense, Like.
Speaker 5 (01:34:12):
Chris gets like a seventeen million dollar raise, wow, picking
up the offer.
Speaker 7 (01:34:17):
Like, why would you offer him that? It's so dumb.
Speaker 6 (01:34:20):
Yeah, especially when you're trying to sign outfielders, like you're
you're in the market for Bellinger, You're in the market
for Kyle Tucker. Like why are you offering Trent Grisham
twenty some million dollars a year?
Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
Yea, what do you do?
Speaker 1 (01:34:31):
It?
Speaker 5 (01:34:32):
Like so dumb and not a lot of not a
lot of players accept the qualifying offers, but four of
them did this year, obviously Grisham, Brandon Woodruff uh in Milwaukee,
did I think that's actually a really good deal.
Speaker 7 (01:34:48):
I think it's good for him because he had for
him from injury this year. So he's got another and
you get that.
Speaker 4 (01:34:53):
Yeah, you weren't getting that in the open market.
Speaker 5 (01:34:55):
No, you got a favorite Corres in Detroit is kind
of a turkey one.
Speaker 4 (01:35:01):
They just have a lot of infielders. And then showed
it went back to the Cubs.
Speaker 6 (01:35:06):
Another one there where it's like he wasn't great this year,
he was okay, another like prove it type deal for him,
So yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
Uh, where do you pirates are in on on spob what.
Speaker 7 (01:35:21):
They're rolling the rubbing together. They're two nickels.
Speaker 8 (01:35:26):
Well really they're trying to put asses in seats, and
I mean they know damn well they're not going.
Speaker 3 (01:35:31):
To put a competitive product on the field anything.
Speaker 5 (01:35:33):
Yeah, they gotta they gotta start doing it sometimes.
Speaker 8 (01:35:38):
I mean, Paul Skins is the only reason anybody goes
to the ballpark other than the fact that it is
a beautiful ballpark.
Speaker 4 (01:35:44):
Yes, I'll tell you what very beautiful they they could have.
Speaker 5 (01:35:49):
I mean if they did anything, they did anything offensively,
they could have a loaded rotation.
Speaker 7 (01:35:55):
Yeah, there's staffs really good there.
Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
Rotation is.
Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
Lineup helps it, Yeah, it helps. I mean, do you
guys think he's going? Do you guys, do you guys
feel like he's gone?
Speaker 4 (01:36:09):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:36:09):
I think I thinks back. I think he ended up
giving you I don't know, people are gonna be pissed off.
Speaker 6 (01:36:18):
I don't mind giving him a four year deal, five
year deal, I really don't, because.
Speaker 7 (01:36:23):
Realistic, like what where you get where are you getting that?
Where you getting that production from? You're not where are
you getting it? Like realistically, like all eat the last year?
Speaker 1 (01:36:32):
If he you know, he.
Speaker 3 (01:36:33):
Pa for there's a lot to take out of the lineup.
Speaker 1 (01:36:37):
It was his last year. I mean, what's the last year,
thirty five if you take.
Speaker 7 (01:36:42):
The runs the year four year five, all right, the.
Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
Same organization that gave Harper for forty two years.
Speaker 6 (01:36:48):
Yeah, Like, I mean, you know, you're maybe a little
gun shy because you're you're going into a lockout after
next year. You're trying to put institute a salary cap,
right Baseball is trying to do. Maybe that's why you
don't want to give them the money, but like, really
I need Middleton to just be like, Yo, screw you guys,
(01:37:09):
and like, hey, we're talking about getting the trophy back. Yeah, dude,
pay the people you want that. Go pay for Colle Schwarber,
Go pay for Alex Bregman if you want them, go
pay for Kyle Tucker. Don't worry about the apron. The
team that's went back to back World Series pays a
bajillion dollars in tax every year because they just want.
Speaker 4 (01:37:27):
To go out.
Speaker 6 (01:37:28):
Yeah, really you have you have about not that.
Speaker 8 (01:37:33):
It means that much on that on their level, but
you're in a pretty tex friendly state of Pennsylvania compared
to fucking California, for godsakes.
Speaker 1 (01:37:43):
I mean, it's just more simple your opportunities there.
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
You're watching the big band Wolf with the Los Angeles Dodgers,
go out and spend the time. Yep right, you watch
it in front of your face when you know that's happening,
and you said stupid money years ago, why would you
pull back now? Like the Ryans just said, like, I'm
not trying to get more lefty heavy, but I mean,
and I'm not saying I love all three guys and
and it sALS every issue, but like I'm literally going
(01:38:09):
and getting Schwarber, Tucker and bregnant. Like if I'm really
all in to say I want to come play, I
want to come play. I said out loud that Bryce
Harper wasn't that type of player anymore. He really go on,
but he wasn't star carrier anymore. So knowing that I
gotta go surround him with guys that can make up
(01:38:32):
some of that production, yep, right.
Speaker 1 (01:38:35):
It doesn't mean it's not a good one.
Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
We're in win now mode means right now and that.
Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
He's got a start now. If he's not playing at
a star caliber now, ha's gonna be five years from now,
exactly so. And then I'm not worried.
Speaker 1 (01:38:49):
About giving Shoreber five years. I'll give everybody what they want.
I'm trying to win over the next two or three years. Yep.
I mean we're in that mode. We we we said
the Devil.
Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
Be a season in twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:39:02):
Forget that, don't be a season because they're not that stupid.
The fact that matter, the fact that matter is this season,
and they learned from that. Hopefully you sign with the Devil.
When you go and spend the money and you don't
get it done, you don't get over the mountain, but
somebody else does.
Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
You got it?
Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
Then go match to the guard money baby, And that's
those three. And then I go to Japan and what's there.
I'm dead serious, like I'm not messing around anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:39:33):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
You have the closer, you have the staff, you have
the pieces to go win, you have the bullpen, you
have all the pieces. Go load up offensively and say,
you know what, We're gonna go play the game with
you like you're that close in that series. You're that close.
If you have if you have a Legiti lineup, because
(01:39:55):
that line is not good enough.
Speaker 7 (01:39:57):
If you if you do.
Speaker 6 (01:39:58):
Anything at all offense in that series, you win the series,
and you probably win the World series.
Speaker 7 (01:40:03):
Anything at all.
Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
They got five or six guys that scare you in
that lineup. Minimum, we got five or six.
Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
Guys that scare you in that lineup last year for US.
Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
Nope, No, but I got three.
Speaker 1 (01:40:16):
I got three that scare you. So now I had
three more.
Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
Now now now I'm in the conversation, and if I
get anything more out of it, if I get something
out of Crawford whatever, and these other guys, and great
Bryce and Scott right, they've been sure, but I will
get more out of those guys because now they're they're
down seven, eight nine, they're they're more relaxed.
Speaker 7 (01:40:38):
Man, Look, you want to go all in.
Speaker 6 (01:40:40):
You you spend the money on shore where you spend
the money on Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 7 (01:40:43):
You spend the money on Alex Bregman, You flip Alec Bohm,
you flip. You don't sign jt you go trade for
like Adlee Rutschman, and you just go all in.
Speaker 1 (01:40:53):
This is team USA. This is Team USA versus Japan. Joe.
That's what it is. Well, Joe, Team Japan. Joe.
Speaker 8 (01:41:01):
To your point, there's no it's no accident that a
lot of them sign in l A. I mean there
there is a huge it's it's closer and technically in
geographic proximity. Not only that, there is a huge, huge,
huge Asian population in southern California, specifically in LA and
in Orange County.
Speaker 7 (01:41:21):
I mean there's also doesn't hurt that the best player
in baseball.
Speaker 1 (01:41:27):
Right they follow, Yeah, that's why you gotta go Team USA.
Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
The guys where I'm trying to go, like, you gotta
go all in, you gotta you gotta match it. Like
if you're not gonna win the battle in Japan, then
you need to win the battle here. They already won
the battle back here. They got Freddy and Mookie there.
They already they already won that battle. But now you
gotta go get that. That's why think this is the team.
Three players in this lineup away from me really believing
(01:41:54):
in it. Like that's where they're at. They're a playoff team,
but there's still three guys away. They got to put
fear into you. I need three fear guys.
Speaker 6 (01:42:06):
You need three professional hitters, guys that aren't just gonna
play it everything. We were talking about this in October Man.
Just ye, too many uncompetitive bats. Go give me a
guy that's gonna go gap to gap. I don't need
guys that are hitting home runs every single time they
come to the plate. It helps, right, but we've done
that and it hasn't worked.
Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
Give me Crawford, Bader, Bragman, Tucker, whoever.
Speaker 6 (01:42:35):
Yeah, I mean, then you add and you have Harper
and Turner and then whatever you want to do.
Speaker 7 (01:42:40):
It's second and third.
Speaker 6 (01:42:41):
Base, or if you're depending on wherever you're putting Bregman,
if he's planning to play seconds, go play third.
Speaker 7 (01:42:46):
You probably move Alec Bohom.
Speaker 6 (01:42:49):
Yeah, you trade Alec Bohm to I don't know somewhere.
Go get another bullpen piece.
Speaker 3 (01:42:57):
You're timing Tucker, he'd play right correct, talk.
Speaker 6 (01:43:00):
With play right. You go flip a couple of prospects
that aren't Aidan Miller to Baltimore and go get Addlee Rushman.
You're a catcher, just switch hitter. Probably say defensively. They
just showed their hand. They paid Sam Bassala a ton
of money, So what are you gonna do. You gonna
have two catchers like in your everyday lineup, you're gonna
(01:43:22):
put Adlie at first.
Speaker 7 (01:43:22):
You put Basala at first, you go.
Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
Prime.
Speaker 6 (01:43:28):
Yeah, so he's you know, his his value is probably
a little bit lower. You probably don't have to give up.
You know, you're not giving up Aiden Miller. You're not
giving up justin Crawford. You're not giving up Andrew Paynter. Right,
I'll give up other guys to go and get it
to Adlee Rushman because he's what twenty six eighty twenty seven,
So go get a guy like that, and then maybe
(01:43:50):
you sign another starter. Maybe you can bring Ranger back.
Speaker 7 (01:43:52):
I don't know. Money. Money's fake.
Speaker 6 (01:43:55):
There's no salary cap. Go spend as much money as
you want. How much money do you make in ticket
sales every year? How much money do you making merch
sales every year?
Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
Going down there?
Speaker 3 (01:44:04):
Oh money, Wait, money's fake.
Speaker 8 (01:44:06):
I can retire tomorrow for everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:44:12):
You know what I'm saying. I ain't for everybody that's
for that. But no, you never like listen, I go,
I can't. I can't say enough how old and I go.
I mean, who's out there? Who can I bring back?
I mean, it's it. It's a party. Because I'm trying
to win right now, and if I'm competing with the joneses,
(01:44:32):
I don't have the pharm system to say, oh, I'm
gonna bring up five guys top prospects. No, I'm gonna
bring up two, right, But then I also have four
other guys. I also have to sort of build around here, right,
So that's where the three guys come in. I'm three
guys away. Who are those three guys going to be? Swerver, Bregman, Tucker.
(01:44:56):
That's what's out there, right, that's the best that's out there.
Then go all in.
Speaker 7 (01:45:02):
Go spend a billion dollars this offseason, go do it.
Speaker 1 (01:45:05):
That's where I would be if I'm Middleton.
Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
I'm saying, you know what, I'm tired of it, but
I just gotta eat bait with Nick Cassie and I
just gotta eat twenty million dollars and I.
Speaker 1 (01:45:15):
Gotta eat it.
Speaker 7 (01:45:16):
He's gone no no.
Speaker 1 (01:45:17):
But I mean like if nobody baits.
Speaker 6 (01:45:19):
On trade, yeah, you just cut him, like he's not
gonna be here. He's not going to be here.
Speaker 5 (01:45:23):
Dumblo did say there is no there is no limit
whatever that means the money doesn't have any restrictions. I
don't all what we just talked, you know, like why not,
like if you can it's not realistic.
Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
Yes, it is though, because the Dodgers do. But just
back any money here.
Speaker 5 (01:45:44):
You watch it like we watched the same team for
three years in a row. All of a sudden, think
they're gonna they're gonna switch it up and reverse it reverse.
Speaker 7 (01:45:54):
You gotta do something.
Speaker 4 (01:45:55):
You have a little bit there switching up and reverse.
Speaker 1 (01:45:58):
Yeah, if you would get a beat, I would have
been on a baby.
Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
But my points, he is like you you're not understand
that's that that's different, Like that's that's that's four guys
in your lineup that were different than last year.
Speaker 1 (01:46:12):
When you talk about baitter doesn't really count.
Speaker 2 (01:46:14):
You talk about Crawford, he's talk about Tucker and and
bregnant that that's a different line.
Speaker 6 (01:46:20):
Well, yeah, you're doing that, and then you can flip marsh,
you can flip alot.
Speaker 5 (01:46:23):
Yeah, I mean they are looking to they are looking
to trade off the active roster. So yeah, and they
strom Boom and Catch the are the leading the leading
rumors out there of being available.
Speaker 1 (01:46:37):
Yeah, well there's no restrictions.
Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
I mean, listen, I thought they made a home run
deal with the deadline with both guys.
Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
One guy's definitely back. Well, I to get the other
guy back.
Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
But either way, you got the bullpen, right, you got
the back end with two flame throwers.
Speaker 3 (01:46:56):
We got the bull time. We just gotta be able
to throw the first base.
Speaker 6 (01:47:01):
Yeah, that's not the reason they lost the series, but
I totally forgot all about it.
Speaker 8 (01:47:06):
I'm around, But I mean the reason we lost is
we couldn't hit no.
Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
And that's where you need the new life from from
a younger guy and then three veterans that can swing
it just to get better at bats in this lineup,
and and wherever else needs to be done.
Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
But I mean, if there's no limit, go spend it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
I hear you, blank check, Let's go.
Speaker 5 (01:47:33):
I mean what you guys actually sold me on on
ont over over Bregman last week.
Speaker 6 (01:47:42):
Again, I think there's a I think is gonna stay
in Toronto. But like that, other than that, like I
would love the shed over pregnant.
Speaker 1 (01:47:49):
Give me I can get I can get for cheaper too, So.
Speaker 4 (01:47:58):
Cheaper, Yeah you're not.
Speaker 1 (01:48:02):
If I go get Conker, am I go get Tucker?
Speaker 2 (01:48:04):
Then I can I can go pay Tucker and Swore
because I'm not paying three guys.
Speaker 1 (01:48:09):
I'm not paying two that kind of money, you know,
what I mean.
Speaker 6 (01:48:13):
Either way, like he's there's still gonna be a ton
of money. But again, go do it. Go you said
stupid money, Go spend stupid money and go go arm
for arm, Go go gun for gun, go go do it.
So I'm tired of you like, oh, yeah, we're gonna
do all this like you tried it.
Speaker 7 (01:48:31):
It didn't work at least with these guys.
Speaker 6 (01:48:33):
Go do you can't quit now You're gonna quit now
you gotta trade off everybody stupid money.
Speaker 8 (01:48:40):
You're he's all in already, so you got you might
as well.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
You're half way in. Yeah, yeah, it isn't all way in.
Speaker 6 (01:48:50):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:48:50):
Like when when you watch a team, you know, when you.
Speaker 8 (01:48:53):
Watch they have to you know, you have to cut
the check, you have to.
Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
Pick a Yeah, you have to pick up the tap.
Speaker 2 (01:49:03):
This one's on me because you're watching the team that
wanted to do it they want the last two years.
Speaker 1 (01:49:08):
I mean, it's a copycat league.
Speaker 2 (01:49:10):
So if you know, if I'm John Middleton, I got
eyeballs and a cigar, I'm saying to myself, well, look
what they're doing. So I gotta go to Don Bo
and say, hey, there's no restrictions if the guys are
out there to spend it on.
Speaker 1 (01:49:23):
Go spend it on. We don't have to.
Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
We can't wait till next year to go spend it
on guys. I did that last year. But last year
it wasn't a lot out there, right, this year, there's
a little bit more meat on the boat.
Speaker 4 (01:49:33):
Go over, it's the high end.
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Yeah, yeah, go over spend for the meat on the boat.
When you're talking about Kyle Tucker. Okay, I'm not I'm
not the most in love guy with him, right, but
I'll say this, go spend it. I don't care, right, Bregmant,
I'm not at this age, I'm not in love with it,
but go spend it. But I'd rather go spend it
on shit. But shick, go get him more years, right,
(01:49:56):
or go give him more money. Go give him more
guarantee money, because you know, not guarantee money. But you
know what I'm saying, give me the more years or
more money whatever they get them out of Toronto. That's
what you gotta get to do. Now, go find me,
Go find me in one of the better clothes, not
better closers. Was one of the better relievers on the market, right,
Go go find me another arm in your rotation, the
(01:50:17):
great competition, like, go do.
Speaker 4 (01:50:19):
Those right now.
Speaker 8 (01:50:22):
We'd better be able to outbid the fucking Toronto Blue Chasse.
Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
We should be able to outbid everybody exactly, Like I'm
not playing around. It's the top five market, so it's
not like we're top ten or top fifteen, top five
sell out.
Speaker 6 (01:50:36):
You sell it every game. There's forty five thousand people
in the stands every game. What's what's the median ticket price?
Eighty dollars probably median, maybe less, maybe more.
Speaker 3 (01:50:47):
Not quite that, but it's I think I think it's
up there.
Speaker 6 (01:50:52):
Either's say it's fifty dollars, right, Yeah, it's fifty dollars.
You're making two point two five million dollars a game
on ticket sales alone. So you're making what one hundred
and sixty million dollars is strictly on ticket sales?
Speaker 1 (01:51:07):
Yep? Yeah, it's not everything else spent down there. It's
not merch. It's not.
Speaker 7 (01:51:12):
Strictly ticket sales. Dollarge and median.
Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
Ticket yeah you're talking. Yeah, that's yearly, So we're talking.
We ain't talking anything else that goes on. That's not
even TV money, which is the big money, right, it's
none of that. So I mean, and I thought the
money just John makes off off of another business too
that you can use in his game.
Speaker 1 (01:51:35):
Right, it's all. That's what.
Speaker 2 (01:51:37):
That's what guys who want to win do, right, especially
in a no cap lake. Well, I got money myself,
so I want to win. I want to feel that.
And I truly believe he wants to win. And listen, man,
sometimes it takes fail and to get there. So I
hold out hope, but only if they go do the
(01:51:58):
things that make make the hope make makes sense.
Speaker 6 (01:52:00):
Another another thing too, Man, you got the All Star
Game coming in this year? How many feelings you want
to have the All Star Game?
Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
John?
Speaker 1 (01:52:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:52:08):
Have the All Star Game?
Speaker 1 (01:52:09):
John ticket. You have to take it to the game,
like the fan Fast stuff.
Speaker 7 (01:52:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:52:14):
I do want to go. I do want to do
the dream. Yeah, I wouldn't take.
Speaker 7 (01:52:21):
I would tournament schedule.
Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
Tom Oh, you're going out to Iowa.
Speaker 1 (01:52:25):
No, August thirteenth.
Speaker 6 (01:52:26):
I think we're good, right, Yeah for that, we're good
for sure. Yeah, I'm worried about the All Star Game.
Speaker 1 (01:52:34):
I'm not going to the game. I just care about
fan Fast.
Speaker 7 (01:52:37):
Yeah, like going down there.
Speaker 1 (01:52:38):
Yeah, that's the thing I was talking.
Speaker 7 (01:52:41):
We're gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
Want to go money. You want to go to fan
Fast together?
Speaker 4 (01:52:48):
Oh not fan Fast. I won't to actually be at
the game.
Speaker 1 (01:52:51):
It's not worth it. Fan Fast is awesome, and you
will go with me.
Speaker 4 (01:52:56):
Look if I'm in if I'm up in town, I'll go.
Speaker 1 (01:52:59):
You won't go with me?
Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
Like I that Yeah that I'll drive it too, you
know what I mean, drives all may that's all ma.
We'll be bringing company, which is a which is a
five year old.
Speaker 7 (01:53:12):
But Kerry, I'll put cast on my shoulders. I got
he's a good he's a good on my shoulders.
Speaker 1 (01:53:17):
I got you. I think that, Like I'm not going
to go over spend for an All Star.
Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
Game, Yeah I can't.
Speaker 4 (01:53:23):
I just yeah, it's just those moments, you know what
I mean, or like.
Speaker 7 (01:53:27):
It would be really cool to go.
Speaker 4 (01:53:28):
Yeah, it's just like when the next time we're gonna
get one, you know, I mean, it's been it's a
long time.
Speaker 1 (01:53:38):
I was I was like eleven or twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
Yeah, it's six.
Speaker 7 (01:53:43):
Yeah, it was a year I was born. It was
ninety six.
Speaker 4 (01:53:46):
Yeah, Beforida Stadium or was at the first year in
the stadium.
Speaker 5 (01:53:49):
No, that was that was That's why, that's why I thought, Okay,
for waiting this stone to get.
Speaker 1 (01:53:56):
To the patty. You want to go, baby, let's go.
I got gas, you got tolls. We're good. I got easy.
I don't worry about the tolls, know what I mean?
But yeah, no, experience is all what it's about.
Speaker 2 (01:54:08):
Like, He's like football, We'll go to Eagles game, and
I'm like, dude, I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (01:54:14):
I said, it's not I don't. I don't see the
game as well from from being there. Now I got
Ryan Seeds. It's different, awesome.
Speaker 7 (01:54:25):
I couldn't tell you anything that happened during the game.
I couldn't tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:54:29):
Too much goes on, too much extra curriculars. It's not
a place for a five year old or a six
year old. In my opinion. That's a preseason game, right,
which I hate. I hate him, I hate him, but
I would do it for him, right like I would
do the preseason for him and ask me who every
player's name is.
Speaker 6 (01:54:50):
There were some There were a couple of Lions fans
sitting behind us, a couple of rows behind us.
Speaker 4 (01:54:55):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:54:56):
They were younger dudes, good enough guys.
Speaker 1 (01:54:58):
We're just from the Did they travel from there?
Speaker 7 (01:55:01):
You know, I don't know. Did I honestly don't remember.
Speaker 6 (01:55:04):
That's fine, but I remember like they were going for
they were going forward on fourth down to like the
fourth year, four times going going forward on fourth down.
It was one of the incompletions there's I was. I
turned around and just stared at him like he's not
complete in this. I didn't even watch the play and
just like off the dude's knee or something. I'm just
like I told you, Yeah, Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 7 (01:55:26):
It was It was good. They were funny there. They
weren't jerks. It was good. It was a good time.
Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
Yeah, and I don't think people were probably jerks to
them either. It was probably good fun, fun banter. And yeah,
people are over rake this place too.
Speaker 7 (01:55:40):
Yeah. No, there's no jail cells the link guys.
Speaker 2 (01:55:43):
It's not like no, I'm more saying the tailgate is
not a place for like a five year old in
my opinion.
Speaker 4 (01:55:51):
But if you're not there that early, you're walking a
mile to get to the stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:55:54):
Yeah, and that's why it's just not to me. That's
why it's just it doesn't do it for me. That's
why Sixers game with twenty thousand it's just an easier,
an easier run even to Phillies games, like just getting
in and out of there, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (01:56:11):
And you don't have to worry about the kid freezing
his ass off or anything like that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
No, great baseball, hockey and basketball great at the at
the venues. To me, they're just they're always going to
be better. And that doesn't mean like I'm against going
Eagles games because I used to do what Ryan does.
I used to try to make one a year, right
in some fashion, But as you get older, I'm like,
I'm not going down there for that, you know what
(01:56:37):
I mean.
Speaker 6 (01:56:38):
The park freezing, I just can't do so cold.
Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
It's not fun like to me, like, I'd rather have
fifty people at my house right as everybody come over here, I.
Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
Know, I'd rather watch the game.
Speaker 1 (01:56:54):
You see, you get those types of tickets, how do you?
How do you turn it?
Speaker 6 (01:56:59):
I'm not saying I'm not saying no, I'm absolutely going
to the game.
Speaker 1 (01:57:05):
Yeah, I think best seats.
Speaker 7 (01:57:07):
I'm never gonna have you kidding me, that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
I have said no, but it's always to pay right,
Oh yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:57:14):
I mean like, look about to pay a little bit.
You know, it depends on how much.
Speaker 4 (01:57:17):
But you know the.
Speaker 7 (01:57:19):
Tickets are free fifty count me and yeh three fifty
is for me. Free fifty is my favorite price.
Speaker 4 (01:57:27):
Free fifty is for me.
Speaker 1 (01:57:29):
I couldn't even Yeah, it's that's as absurd.
Speaker 2 (01:57:31):
I mean, I paid I paid one sixty five with
taxes for the sixers for two tickets down low, which
I don't think is terrible. It's not like horrendous. It's
not great, but it's like, you know, it's it's for
the seats, it's pretty good, you know, and row one
and seat one and two again you know for the
(01:57:53):
Hawks game, so that'll be yeah, that'll be a good time.
Speaker 1 (01:57:57):
But that's not terrible. It's bad. I don't love it.
I got a PayPal credit cards if we just use
that for that, you.
Speaker 2 (01:58:05):
Know what I mean, or that you know, were walking
around money. But no, I don't feel like it's terrible.
Speaker 11 (01:58:15):
And and like I don't you know, last time I
didn't spend the time, so you just gay, you know, man,
I probably did actually because parking Parking twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:58:26):
Twenty, it was sixty last time I was down thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:58:29):
It might have been thirty no for sixers.
Speaker 7 (01:58:32):
Yeah, parking passed. I didn't pay. The only thing I
paid for it was.
Speaker 4 (01:58:37):
No chick.
Speaker 7 (01:58:39):
I think I think Eagles parking was like forty bucks
from what I saw earlier down.
Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
There, it was forty bucks these days, I think it was.
Speaker 7 (01:58:45):
The oversize was like sixty or one hundred again, like
an army.
Speaker 2 (01:58:51):
Yeah, oh listen, great show boys. I think we you know,
we can close this in in a minute and be
a two hours and I pick job out of us
being on time, ending on time?
Speaker 1 (01:59:07):
Greg, you feel you? I feel you got something.
Speaker 4 (01:59:09):
Fifty is uh for Eagles game? Fifty oversizes one hundred?
Speaker 1 (01:59:14):
Wow?
Speaker 8 (01:59:18):
Growing up to Foxborough to see us lose to the Pats.
Was it almost fifty bucks of parking the McDonald's a
mile away from Wow?
Speaker 4 (01:59:30):
Yeah, yeah, Parky's absurd.
Speaker 3 (01:59:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:59:39):
Well go birds, go birds, Baby, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:59:45):
Little day here we call gon' come get you, get up.
Speaker 1 (01:59:50):
