Speaker 2 (00:49):
Everybody out there, let's talk about it. We got a
lot to go over.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Rd October starts Saturday for seven pm, A little seven o'clock.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah, six six, six thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Yeah, it'll it's it's the you know what what the
Red Sox and Yankees have been in the last couple
of nights, So yeah, it's it's the primetime slot.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
We're good, We're good.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
We don't want to any Saturday daytime nonsense with the shadows.
So well, we'll break down, break down that. We still
don't know who we're playing yet, but we might. We'll
probably nobody end of the show or have a better
idea or maybe it's one one, but we'll talk about
that later on. We'll give your score predictions and players
at the game for this Sunday one o'clocker again, this
(01:33):
time against the Denver Broncos coming off a Monday night win.
How does that favorite Eagles. We'll talk about that as well.
The Kobe Dean returns to practice, never a bad thing.
I don't mind hearing that one of the leaders of
this defense. We can talk about what that does for
Johack Campbell, uh and to Kobe Dean.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
So we'll break it all down.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
But let's get into the pole, all right, Jalen hurts,
Inconsistent play is the biggest concern about the Eagles undefeated
star you rate or disagree, let us know. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter,
that's where we're live. Everywhere you get your podcasts were
there as well. Hit the like, subscribe, follow, Most importantly,
join the conversation Eagles Nation. Let's discuss it. Disagree completely,
(02:14):
like you could. If I was a good soccer player,
I I would kick this I'll kick this pole so
far down the road, right, I mean I would scored
from five hundred yards away. Like, and this isn't great
just because you write the poll. Don't ever think it's
about you. It's just a way for me to get
fired up and disagree with I hear you fired up.
Let's not move goalposts, got Let's not start goal posting
(02:38):
it because at the end of the day, I am
judging them off of wins and losses. I'm judging him
off of wins and losses. I'm judging them off of
goddamn breaks. I'm not judging them off of oh what
you do in week four? Were your numbers good enough?
Was it with it?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
This is another off I'm not making excuses here either. Okay,
So let's be clear. They got to clean stuff up.
They got to get better, Okay, especially on the road.
They gotta get to the line more. I would love
more up Temple on the road. This defense show is
they could be on the field all night, so we
ain't wired about that side of the football right now. Offensively,
Temple on the road plays well in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
It gets you up in the line of scrimmage better.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
He lets you see defense is better, and then it
allows you to not get up there with ten seconds
on the clock and a panic snaps, right. They obviously
want to feed the running back. You can see the
McKai Beckon lost in.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
The run game.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
If you haven't noticed that, it's pretty clear what six seven,
three seventy four will do compared to the Tyros Senior
is a really good guard in this league, not a
bad guard, but he's not a good run run blockers
McKay Beckton is.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
So there's.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
There's concerns of consistency as an offense, but for Jail
to be the biggest concern, I just have to disagree
with that because he's made winning plays.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
We won four games.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I think if we just take a step back, if
this was the Cleveland Rounds and the Tennessee Titans, and
give me anybody that's bad. Okay, I'm right with you,
everybody that will be on the agree side, think about
who we're playing and where.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
So when you went over this schedule in August, do
not even do this to me. Ninety nine percent of
the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Family out there checked off a loss in Tampa, and
if you claim you didn't, you're a damn lion.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
I'm probably the only one who.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Had to win there, okay, So please don't start moving
the gold posts there either.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You probably had a loss in Kansas City as a
revenge game. I guarantee you that most.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
People had us two and two after four games, the
same start as last year.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
So don't move goal post. We're four and out.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
We've gone into Kansas City and beat them in Arrowhead,
which is not a place many teams win at.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
We beat them two out of three games. Figure every game.
It never happens to that. So who's your daddy?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
We got that.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Tampa? We we we haven't played well there. I don't
know when. I don't know the last time went and
we have, but we have. I don't know the last
time we won.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
That last one was two two years ago, Monday Night.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Something.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Win.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
But you go down to Tampa and a place and
a place that you haven't played well consistently, and you
go get.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
A win like that, and we're gonna come on.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
We're gonna come on, or the dial was gonna come on, right,
people are gonna come on, and we're gonna talk about
the falls of.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
This football team. Naturally, I get it.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
It's inconsistency offensive, it's a new coordinator. It's things that
if you didn't expect it, then I can't help the people.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
The problem I have is the run game. I don't
have a problem with the Panason game as much I
have a problem with the run game. We got two
thousand yards. I said, we have figured out on the ground.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
It's that win.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
You doesn't look like it look like a Juco college,
look like a Juco U, right, so come on, So again,
jail hasn't been perfect, but winners win. The culture has
been set when you when you set the culture, and
all you guys do is a group is figure out
Whay's to win, and you got guys believing you're gonna win.
(06:13):
When he's inconsistent play, he's been consistent and the biggest
aspect we judge quarterbacks and professional sports wins.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
And the conversation he has to play better, more consistent
through games. So it is the entire offense. Of course,
nobody got blinders on, but absolutely disagree. I don't think.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I don't think anything's a concern right now. I think
if you if we look through this Resen's concern. We're
four and oh, we gotta get better. We're four and
oh when we're ranked like dead in almost every category. Oly, shit,
you can only go up from here. But what's the
hardest thing to do.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
To win a game?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Nick and Anita said, he don't care what it looks like.
You here other players that they don't care what it
looks like.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Jam Corson, I'd rather have I'd rather have a bad
game personally and win than have eight sacks and lose.
They're the leader of your football team day, there's one
guy who would rather have a good game.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
You're number one wide receiver, rightfully, So that's the kind
of guys those guys are.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
It's okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, But even.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Him, you can it's like a it's like a rabbits
Like he's good inside. When you keep him in the house,
he's a good boy. Right when you let him out
of the house, he might bite somebody. He might say
something he shouldn't say, or he might tweet something he
shouldn't tweet.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Okay, but we know that going in, right.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
We deal with this every year with him. Every year.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
We're okay, everybody out there, I'm gonna say it again.
Calm down, it's not nineteen eighty eight. We are the
gold standard in the National Football League right now, dude,
just calm down.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
We're not We're not hitting on all cylinders and we're
four it up like holy shit, we we could.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
And they weren't cupcakes either. Right, It's not like it's
not like we're you know, we're You're to your point, Tommy.
It's not like we're rolling through the Browns and the
Panthers and and squeaking out wins. You're you're coming, I think,
uh breaks said it on Monday, like you're going through
a gauntlet of teams that want to beat you. You
know what I mean, your rivals, you know, the defense,
(08:20):
the team you just whacked in the in the super Bowl,
team that you beat in the snow in the playoffs,
team that usually beats you pretty handedly on the road, right,
and you just you come to find wins. Uh No,
I agree with you, Tommy. I disagree as well, because
because I think the offense as a hole has been inconsistent.
So to put that at a one particular person as
(08:44):
being the most inconsistent is tough, right. I think of
the three games this or other for four games. This
was his worst game offensively, Jalen wise in the second half,
right and and there. So there's been other parts of
other games where he looks really good, like the second
(09:04):
half against the Rims, he looked great. Like I don't
know if you guys saw on Twitter, but uh, there
was there's this thinking out there that maybe he got
a concussion on that on the play that they picked
up the flag for the hit, because before that he
had all of his his passing stats, and then afterwards
he wasn't even near anybody with throws.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
You know.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
It almost goes to the thing that's when he started
as over was maybe he did maybe he got a
fell wrong a little bit, and and he so he
wasn't as sharp. But tommy two point. Like, the offense
as a whole through four weeks has been inconsistent for
most of the time. Right, they put they put stretches
together of oh, this is the best team in the league, Right,
(09:43):
this is the best offense in the Elite But for
the most part they've been they've been inconsistent as a group.
So I'm not gonna lump Jalen in there as the
biggest because we have a lot on the offensive side
of the football that can be and needs to get
cleaned up. But again, at at the end of the day,
we're winning football games. And I know I've said it, Tommy,
(10:03):
I think you've said it. I'm sure we've all said it. Well,
this team is different from twenty twenty three because of
the biggest thing they've won now, so they know what
it takes to get over that hump, right, they know internally,
as you said, Nick Sirianni said, I don't care what
it looks like. All we got to do is win,
Like they know what it takes.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Start.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Maybe if we start slow through the first half of
the year, but we're gonna we're gonna find toune. We're
gonna get better and by November, by December, we'll be
clicking on all cylinders. Point, but all we gotta do
is continue to win.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Hold on, let me ask you that question, because that's
a great point, Like would you rather be quicking on
all cylinders right now? Look like the greatest show on grass,
all right, and be like, oh oh, at some point
we're probably gonna peak, right, do we peak too soon?
Speaker 2 (10:55):
And I think that matters, Like we didn't peak too soon.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Last year, right, we didn't peak, we said, and we
didn't peak offensively, and we didn't and we obviously didn't
peak in the win the win column, like, but this
year we're peaking in the wing column, but we're not
peaking at other things that even a little bit, right.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
So I mean, that's what I ask you, guys. I'd rather,
you know, I'd rather feel it out.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Sure, slow builds, slow burn it, find out who you are,
what is your identity, because they don't know it yet offensively,
But then ry go.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
I don't want to take up too much here. But
the reason they're four and oh is it's very simple.
It's the best defense. And now I'm might to tell
you statistically it is the best defense in the National
Football League. And I'll die on that hill.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
That's how good there. They haven't got it for the
quarterback enough and they're still that good.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
They find ways to get off the field, they find
ways to get stopped, they find ways to make plays.
I've seen enough, I've seen nothing. This is why we're
in a dynasty mode. So just everybody calm down. We
got a quarterback done turned the football over and we're
gonna say he's the biggest reason he's had one.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
He's had one turnover and it's a fumble. He didn't
turn to pick.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Right, but bumble his fault.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Well you guilt. I mean you got murdered. It was
literally watched it, watch them get murdered on the football field.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
He gets murdered and the tackle goes out and that's it.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I biggest concern would be, can can Lane Johnson finished
a football game?
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Right? Go ahead?
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Yeah, no, I think we I have to disagree that again, Jalen.
You know, obviously there's been inconsistent play. But again it's
it's like you guys said, he hasn't It hasn't been
just him, It's been everything. It's been you know.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
I do think that there's something to it that these
guys don't ever.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Play in the preseason, right Yo, even if you're playing
a series or two or a quarter or whatever, Like,
if you have the opportunity to do that, you can
knock out some of the kinks, right Like, realistically, like
the first four games have whoops, like preseason type games
where you'll we'll pull the together of a drive here
(13:02):
or a drive there, or a quarter here or a
quarter there or no second half two weeks ago, first
half this past week.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
Right, they haven't.
Speaker 5 (13:11):
Played a complete football game yet, right, But ultimately I
think it comes down to you know, like these inconsistencies
are like coaching during the week, right, preparing, getting yourselves
ready for whatever you're gonna face, right, and not getting
the ball to your playmakers.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
Right, this offense clicks when.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Aj gets the ball, Devonte gets the ball, Gonnard gets
the ball, sae Quon gets the ball. Right. You're not
just feeding one guy all the time, right, or you
can pick out one certain like deficiency a defense has
right now, Bulls has had Jalen Hurts's number his entire career.
It's not the first guy, right, So it's not surprising
(13:54):
that after the good in quotation marks first half that
we had that Bulls came back out second half was like, hey, look,
you're not gonna do that anymore. Go beat us some
other way, right, And like we, like you mentioned already,
the offensive line hasn't been very good. So when we
when we were up last year, we just ran the
football down people's throats. We haven't shown that we've been
(14:14):
able to do that yet this year. Right, Now, I
know that I've watched a couple of clips of Jordan Myles.
I watched Jordan physically with on a block on somebody,
which I don't know if I've ever seen that bad before. Right,
Like you said, Lane Johnson's been banged up, Tyler Steen's
still getting his feet wet, right, these guys aren't a
finished product yet, and he's hurt, right like these guys,
(14:38):
like everybody's banged up. Right, Jalen hasn't thrown great. AJ's
not running the right route as he's not getting open,
Davante is not doing a whole lot. Goddard's been okay again,
like these guys are. They've just been okay, and you're
still four and out. So I don't really know what
else you really want to ask for, right, But yeah,
(15:02):
it's inconsistencies across the board. Yeah, I don't really think
he could point at one particular guy that it's his problem.
And it's definitely not the guy who hasn't lost a
football game in a calendar year. It's been a literal
calendar years that this guy lost the football game.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
It's not his fault.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
It comes down to coaching, preparation and just getting the ball.
You know out quickly to your playmakers to have them
do more right or getting to the line earlier. Right,
we talked about this what last week? Right, Hey, look
they got in, they got the ball out faster. Right,
they were at the line with fifteen seconds left. You
give Jalen time to check at the line and figure
(15:39):
it out at not this. Hey, where we get to
the line with eight seconds left, We're gonna run whatever
play we calls. You don't have time to dissect anything, right,
But again, your four and zero. I don't need them
clicking on all cylinders right now. I need them clicking
on all cylinders. Only played Buffalo in Buffalo in December.
That's why I need them in all cylinders right when
you're looking to lock up the one seed until that
(16:00):
point whatever.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yeah, And I think, like, you know, Pobe obviously Cowboys fan,
but he's right, like I want to be concerned this early.
How you finish plus winning dirty grinding games while you're
not at your best is a talent unto itself. And
he's right, like, this is the ability to know how
to win, the ability to wait to make winning plays.
(16:25):
And I think we just looked by that stuff like
this defense made a huge play on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Huge play. They're on the field the whole second half.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
It's a monster tip right that that that changes the
direction of that ball and we get a pick. It
reminded me of Jacksonville last year. It reminded me and
the Kobe Dean in the ends up against Jacksonville last
year where hey, wasn't a pretty game out of hand,
gett We're gonna lose this game, and we found a
way to win it. Like we don't remember it, like
when we're in the playoffs lst year. Oh remember that
(16:54):
Jacksonville game. No, but we remember it for the for
the backwards hurdles. That's what you remember jack game four,
not the not the pick in the end zone to
end the end to comeback.
Speaker 6 (17:07):
I remember the Devonte catch. Yeah, that catch was sick.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
What's funny is live We didn't realize that we saw
the pick, but we didn't realize Red tipped it live
like in you know, from where we were on the side.
We didn't realize until we got home and you saw
the replay, You're like, oh my god, re tip that
and then obviously Jahad caught it, which is awesome.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, Well, I mean day was in twenty one and
now going back to the last year, can we really
asked on more than that?
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Nope?
Speaker 1 (17:34):
And then it's like swoop right, like is it too
much for ch It's over two twenty Like somebody said
earlier in the chat, Chargers lost to the Giants in
New York and there wasn't a word about it.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yepkay, So.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Just stop, dude, like you want numbers, you want wins, swoopy,
like I gets, yeah, asked him too much?
Speaker 4 (17:56):
It is?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
It was it was asking too much in Super Bowl
because he did it like you know what I mean,
what do you mean? Is it asking for too much?
But we act like he can't do it. That's what
drives me crazy about it. And I was the guy
that was hard on him about getting better with that stuff. Right,
all those types of things. There ain't no excuses being made, Nelson.
We're talking about a new coordinator again. Again, like when
(18:20):
you look at Tom Brady and you look at Peyton Manning,
those guys were at the line early as can be.
Because Brady even says, don't tell it. It's a cat
and mouse game. It's a cat and mouse game. When
I got two safeties up top where are they going
to play?
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Right?
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Where's the defense? It is a cat mosk game to
get into something you want to get into. So if
I'm not at the line, I really can't put that
on a quarterback. I gotta put that on the plays
coming in on time and and that kind of in
that part of the football game. But like the guys
that are like asking for like more man, like what
do you want? Like, I don't care if the guy
(18:54):
those were a buck ninety and a super Bowl when
we win it. I'm not in it for Jalen Hurts's.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Statue, right, I mean no, I'm with you, And I
think your analogy with the Chargers is perfect because everybody
wants everybody wants to compare him to Justin Herbert, right,
everyone wants to compare him to the guy who just
looks and oozes out I'm a quarterback. But the dude
(19:21):
just continues to lose games that he should never lose
and come up small in games that he should come
up smaller. There's no reason the Chargers. Everyone thinks he's
gonna win. The West goes into the Meadowlands and loses
that team, especially after League Neighbors blows out his knee again,
and with a rookie quarterback.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
And his first career start, his first career.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
Start, and he beats you on the road. And don't
give me. I don't care about West Coast the East coast.
You supposedly have the greatest quarterback looks wise, aesthetic wise,
that everybody wants our quarterback to be, but our our
guy wins versus that guy looks pretty with his long hair,
(20:05):
and he does have great long hair, but lose his
games that he shouldn't should has no business losing.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Well, I mean, we'll see it next Well, I don't
want to jump ahead obviously, but hey, we'll see it
next week. You know, that's where we are, Meadowlands doing
the same ship, Like, come on, man, there's no shot
Eagles go in there and lose that game. But regardless whatever. Yeah,
it's it's infuriating to like look at these lists of
quarterbacks to like, you know, there's there's three or four
(20:36):
guys like, all right, yeah, they're.
Speaker 7 (20:37):
Better, you know.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
Josh Allen, you know Pat Mahomes. I'm even starting to
question Lamar a little bit. I know, dude's got like
two m vps. Lamar looked really bad this past week.
He's Look, he hasn't you know, obviously that defense is
pretty awful, but like they should have won.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
They should be three and one, not one and three.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Like it's it's infuriating to see these guys who are
like they're they're better than Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
I'm like, okay, cool, how are they against Jalen Hurts.
All of them just lose.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
All of them lose.
Speaker 5 (21:09):
I think the only one that actually has a winning
record against Jalen Hurts is Justin Herbert, but regardless, but yeah,
everybody else is a losing record.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yeah, Jordan Love loses to the Browns.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Yeah, like does it terrible time management at the end
of that game Monday night or Sunday night, whatever night,
you know. And yeah, it's just all these guys they
lacked that they lacked that that skill of winning games,
you know. And we'll see how, We'll see if Jalen
bounces back right. One thing we know about Jalen Jalen
(21:42):
Hurts is if he has a bad game, you know,
if he doesn't play up to up the standards, he's
going to bounce back right. In that second half, whether
he was injured or not, he looked terrible. You know
when we got the ball back eight minutes, right, we
got the ball back eight minutes up a score, and
I'm like, get my head and round and around the
guys in the stadium. I'm like, all right, here we go.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Close your time, close your time. This is what Jalen does.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Runs five minutes, six minutes off the clock, at minimum,
gets us a field goal, puts us back up two scores.
And that's what that's what he does. And he didn't
do it on Sunday, right, he didn't do it. But
we're gonna see a different guy this Sunday against against
the you know, a decent defense in Denver.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
This is what I notice, right, And maybe I'm wrong,
but this is what I see. You know, I think
we can. I think we can run the football. I
think what the problem is is that you got to
mix the Matt Stake ruin in the game right now.
That's how you gotta get your running game going. And
(22:45):
you're gonna be like, what do you mean you can
take your best running back off the field. He gotta
show different stuff. You gotta give a different look, like
you got to give an a j Dillon. He's averaging
five point one yards of carry. Ran on Sunday he
ran five point one yards of carry, And I think
you got to get him the football a little bit
more then and change it up. Okay, he said nine attempts.
(23:07):
I think you can get a little bit more. Ninettemps
Takue Bark gets seventy seven attempts. Okay, Now, grant, it's
four games, right, but he's having a three point one
yards of carry compared to five point one yards of carry,
So why not give the different look a little bit more?
That's what I'm saying, show a different look, and then
maybe you pop one, loosen the box up a little bit,
(23:28):
like Jose saying, just do some different try different things.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
One I would.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
I would, And I'm not a big believer in this.
Usually just depends on the team you have, but I
would start out. I would start out up tempo right
from jump rpop type style and boom read, go and
get and get the ball, Get the ball and play
maker's hands early and see if you can't get something
going that way, and loosen them up that way to
(23:54):
be able to run the football. But I would start
with not not starting Saquon in the backfield, but no
series two. If we don't run the ball series one,
I mean, it's AJ Dillon back there, then let me
let me go run the football with him.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Let me go see if I can do something different.
I think we got to avoid first down runs.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Right now, I think we're people are assuming we're running
on first down.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
Well, I think, yeah, yeah. I think the inconsistency in
the passing game is is allowing the defenses to load
the box and say, I know I shouldn't cover a
J DeVante one on one, But at the same time,
right now, I know they're not gonna hurt me, you know,
So everybody.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Can Aj show he can take top off.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yet he's got an opportunity to go one on one
and take tops off and he hasn't done it yet.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
Yeah, he was open a couple of times on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, but what the pocket looked like at that time
he's open.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
It was early in it was early in the snap.
I almost think first played the game. It was he
was one on one and everybody was like one on one,
one on one, let's go, and he did. He looked right,
and he looked away. There were a couple of times
and even even their live you remember the screen, the
screen that they went out to Saquon who got no
that got no yardage. Aj had a down on the
(25:05):
on the other side was running the same thing down
down below and had had monsters in front, and he
did you know, because he zoned. He read it to Saquon.
That's he that's where he went as opposed to what
was wide open at the bottom. So uh yeah, for
the most part, I agree with you. He's not always
taking the top off, but he's open a lot.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
I think he's a lot more open than the obviously
he got. He got targets this week. Some of those
walls were just nowhere near. But again, like he got
nine targets, maybe like five or six of them were
like actually, hey, you got to catch this ball. But
you know, if you're not getting the ball, like, there's
no way, shape or form that Aj Brown should never
(25:52):
have one or two catches in the game. Right, throw
this dude to slant. Please throw this dude to five
yard slant and let them run for thirty yards. Right,
mix something in like that. Make it a quick, easy
one read throw. Just get the ball out then let
your playmakers make plays. It shouldn't be this hard. You
(26:13):
don't have to take the top off to get the
ball out of these guys. This guy, just give them,
get them the ball in somewhat form of space and let.
Speaker 7 (26:19):
Them go right Like it's then if you can do that,
you can make defenses back up.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
They don't have seven to eight guys in the box
all the time. It makes running the buff football that
much easier, right, which is what we did last year. Again, obviously,
I know it's a different team. I know it's a
different play caller, it's different guys in and out right,
but it shouldn't look this hard to be able to
move the football with the amount of talent you have there.
(26:47):
And again that's why I said earlier. I think it
comes down to preparation and coaching during the week, right, Like,
it's not like you haven't played Tampa Bay. It's not
like you're you're playing you know, I don't know if
if Tampa Bay's in the AFC and you play them
once every four years, you have tape on these guys,
you play them every goddamn year. Yeah, you know what
they're gonna do. You know what they've done successfully against
(27:09):
you guys. Figure it out, make it easier, get to
the line scrimmage early right, allow your quarterback, who's gotten
that much better at dissecting defenses, figure out what they're
gonna do, right, Like, I don't understand why it looks
so easy sometimes and so difficult other times. Again, like
(27:30):
we I mentioned before, you guys have talked about it too.
Tom Bowles has had Jalen's number, so you know what
he's gonna try to do.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Coach around that.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
Now. I understand that Patoola again is the first time.
Speaker 6 (27:44):
Play caller put his head.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
He's been with five six different play callers here with Sirianni. Right,
you didn't take the good things from everybody that was here.
It's not like he wasn't in in the building. It's
like you're bringing in another brand new voice, brand new name.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
He knows all these guys.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
You know what's successful.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
I don't think it's that though, right, Like I don't.
I don't think it's I don't think it's that simple.
Like it's not about knowing it and like being able
to design plays. It's about being able to get rhythm
and calling it right. Like that's the hard part.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
I think it's not about like if a guy's smart
enough to design great play calls?
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Right?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Is he good enough on the.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Fly to be able to start feeling and getting in rhythm,
just like a picture getting in rhythm, a hit or
getting in rhythm, a quarterback getting in rhythm. Right, I
think they all go hand in hand. So I think
the hardest part is not do we have good play
calls or write all these types of things? Are we
calling the right plays in the right spots?
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Right? Is the play calling right?
Speaker 1 (28:45):
I don't know, But then it's the execution right, you know?
Obviously his offense line has not been as good, No
clear as day. If we can't see it, comboy, you're right,
I mean it's I mean I said it. I didn't
like losing Mackay Beckton if I you know, and I
know we got paid. I get those types of things.
But man, when that guy gets off of goddamn boss
(29:06):
with that offensive line, the way they looked. If I'm
a defensive front, I want no parts of that. That
day of having to stop to run against those road graders.
I mean, you had a six, seven and seventy found
guy in the middle of your offensive line go alongside
uh Landon Dickerson is your other guard.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
I mean that's road grading guards. I just think it's a.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Big loss and it's starting to see it now. It
doesn't mean we can't get better in the run game,
it doesn't mean any of that. But I don't think
we run the ball to the left side enough either.
Most of our runs I feel like come to the
right and that's probably because Landa is not healthy enough.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
So if guys aren't healthy or nothing, we need to
give guys weeks all off for four and out, like
you got to shut out. You gotta protect guys from
themselves because like I need land Dickerson long term, I
need Lane Johnson long term. This year I can go
I can go cough up again. Ain't here and there.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Like we're gonna win this division, so I can go
clssuf up for long term health. Sorry, yeah, again another
rant because it's just like the stuffs right in front
of her face on why we're not clicking yet? Right, Yeah,
And I think once the rhythm starts getting going, I
think we're gonna be okay here, but it all comes
on patool.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
But then it comes on jailing too, so they got
to make the adjustments. You know. This is a good
it's a good defense. This week.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Yeah, Denver's good defense.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Another tough matchup, and.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
The one thing they bring from an offensive standpoint too,
is the receivers are big. You know, Courtland Sulton, Marvion
Man's that they're they're tall, they're taller end receivers, which
is gonna test us.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Yeah. I mean, I ain't scared and I ain't scared.
No ghosts on that side of the ball, So you know.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
I think both do do?
Speaker 6 (31:05):
I think that dude sticks out loud?
Speaker 5 (31:08):
I think that I don't think that there's any chance
that Denver comes into this building and put some more
than twenty points. There's not a shot.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Now, I.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
This has the makings.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
This has the makings of that prototypical trap game, right
when when you think of for Eagles, right, for the Eagles, Sure,
just just just hear me out of here, right, Yeah,
I mean this has the makings of that pro typical
trap game. Right. You haven't looked good through four weeks,
but you've won. Right, You had the visional opponent that
you're not necessarily you're looking forward to, but you're thinking
(31:45):
you could get right on right right after this. You're
coming back after a not really good win. But then
you factor in what's going on over in Denver. Right,
you played on Monday night, Now you get to travel
short weeks. So far on the road, you haven't been
very good. Right, So what kind of like what we
were talking about last week with that designated loss on
(32:06):
the schedule, right, that that automatic loss of the schedule,
like that kind of gets equaled out because of what
Denver is coming in with. Sure, you look good against
who Now forget who they played.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
Uh, they put up twenty points against the Titans on Monday,
because I watched they beat the Titans.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
They lost to the Chargers, they beat.
Speaker 5 (32:33):
They lost to the Colts, then they beat to hang On.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
So I'm blanket on their Monday night.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Came Cincinnati since here.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Yeah, yeah, you beat Cincy. He doesn't even have a
team anymore.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Yeah, you put twenty eight points up on that on
that defense.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
I love you. I love you to death. The week
after would be the draft game to me, babe, not
this one.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
No, I'm saying I'm with you. I'm not saying it are.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
More of a trap than this is.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
In my opinion, Meadowlands, the way we played there is
more trappish than this.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
If they weren't coming p on Monday night when I'm
right with you.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Well that's where that's where, that's where canceled out for me.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I'm with you, and then we haven't played well enough
for that scheduled loss.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Yeah, makes sense, Like that's not look at it too,
we haven't played well enough for the scheduled loss, like
we should be more trying to get get right. Then.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Yeah, I probably did a terrible job explaining it like normal,
but I'm saying this would normally feel like a trap beam,
except when you factor in everything, it cancels out. And
I think the Eagles roll on Sunday. I think they
absolutely roll.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
You're back.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
I'm not bothered at all by their receivers. I mean
you saw that Q has been shadowing number ones. He's
gonna follow Courtland Sutton everywhere this weekend. Marvin mammas doesn't
scare me. Who's next?
Speaker 6 (34:03):
Troy Franklin? Okay, right? Like who's the running backs?
Speaker 4 (34:07):
What?
Speaker 5 (34:07):
JK. Dobbins? Yeah, okay?
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Unbothered?
Speaker 5 (34:11):
Bonecks is you gonna throw two picks?
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Don't care? We're good.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
The only thing that and again not a concern, not
a worry, but the only thing that's that Bonnicks does
do that we have struggled with so far. Is he
is mobile? Right? We saw that with Mahomes in that
first half before we really locked down on our rush lanes.
We saw that with Baker, especially in the second half
there last week. If these quarterbacks get through our initial rush,
(34:42):
it can have an impact. Again, not saying I'm concerned
on it, because I agree with you. I think our
back end of the defense is going to is going
to limit what they can do in the air. But
we have, at least throughout the first few weeks of
the year, have struggled with mobile quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Thirty one seventeen Eagles, you dig the mobile mobile. It
can be mobile off the goddamn boss. Right, You're not wrong,
but it can be mobile off the goddamn boss in
my opinion. So thirty one seventeen to get right, game,
to get right, So off for Swoopies and and everybody
in the chat that needs to needs a complete game.
(35:22):
He's a complete game. We're gonna get a complete game.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
One o'clock Sunday. So getting me up, let's go. Yeah,
That's where I'm going.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
Thirty one seventeen.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Felt the ass Thanks for coming.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Speaking of I hope you got a mile high on
the way here, babe, and I'll be You know we
were able to.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
We're not gonna do that. I mean going.
Speaker 5 (35:45):
I'm going. I'm going figure thirty eight thirteen oh thirty eight.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
We're it was.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
Thirteen man, Look four years ago last time we played them.
Davante Smith eight pats er Tan's lunch. What are Davonte
and AJ Brown gonna do?
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Come on in greg They were open all day Sunday.
Speaker 7 (36:10):
They were opened a lot.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
They're opened a lot. Yeah, I don't know what you're watching, like,
you might just be eyes.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
You might be eyes on secondary and the quarterback getting
smacked in the maut you know.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
What I mean? So like what like?
Speaker 3 (36:22):
I don't know, right, I could have missed a bunch
like tape not shocking.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Now you're gonna make me watch State. I don't watch State.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
I did watch all of AJ's nine targets, and two
of them were the only actual targets. Seven more were
unttchable balls. Yeah, uh thirty thirteen birds wow?
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Uh on bertought Yes and no.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
I mean, I don't know if there's a better tackling
cornerback in the national football than Cooper di g So
I want to put one ahead of the other. I
think they both have their strengths. I think the hardest
spot to play for a corner in the National football
again is the slot. I mean, I don't want to
go ranking gats, you know what I mean. That's all
I'm saying to you. I want, I want to rank
(37:16):
against your our own family.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
I mean, what do we do? And that's the sweatshirt.
We're gonna.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
We're gonna rank against our own family here. And they're
both they're both damn good. She's gotta get it away
from being so handsy though. Yeah, but he's still he's
still damn good. But Coop Q, I mean, and then Coop. No,
Coop has't missed the tackle all year. And you name
(37:41):
me a corner that that that hasn't.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Just named them? Yeah, I just named them. If we're
watching the same game, which I know we all are,
the dude, don't miss tackles.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
You just gotta you gotta stop the iris and step
over such a focus call, come on the NFL.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Well, a guy with high heels on halftime show? O
man with high heels on for the halftime show. But
we were worried about stepovers? Oh, we ship. I don't
care if you guys vanished around. I don't phaze me.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
But I could do it out like I could deal
with at the high heels.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
You know what I'm saying. Yeah, I canceled tonight and
that's okay too. I mean the second, the second social
media is not paying my bills. I don't care anymore,
you know what I mean, pay me or I'm gonna
keep doing whatever I want to deal But that's the truth.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Like, I don't I'm not anti anything aunt that high
heels on a grown man. I mean, if I'm wrong
for that, then five and in there, in there, I
don't care about anything else.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Nothing else bothers me. That one's always weird to me.
That's where I go crossing the line. Yeah, crossing, there's
a there's a line here. I'm good with a ton
line or oh yeah, I'm without the guy like, oh,
it's in the nineteen nineties, being in and nothing. I
don't care who it is, but go like and don't
(39:12):
tell me how many listeners and now you gotta be fired.
Don't tell me how many listeners a guy has, Like,
I don't.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Care, I don't care. What are we catering? To no,
you're so worried about global.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Yeah, we don't care about you don't care about our
fans anymore.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Because you're worry about money. We have about money, So
it's okay. I mean, of course, if you're a smart
enough human being, you see through that.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
Right, then they don't care about the American person watching
because they know we will.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
That's all that they stopped caring a long time ago
about us.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
And let's and let's we say we're done. And none
of us are doing that, right, none of us are
doing that. You know, like I'm not I'm not stop watching.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
I don't have to watch bad Bunny, but you know,
like I don't watch halftime shows.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Anyway, so I don't care enough. I just and I
just end with high heels.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Just being clear, like I don't don't care about anything else,
but what do you what are you selling us on?
So like they're not anymore, they're like, hey, we know
you guys are watching, So now we're gonna go global.
And I get it from a business perspective, you can
go global without without the high heels.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Yeah, mister, bring her.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
Back, you know what I mean global?
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Yeah, I mean, give me a little shake.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
I don't need the guys shaking an eye heels that
doesn't do it right, the grown man shaking eye heels.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Bad bunny, big bunny. I don't care, big rump bunny.
Now I'm good, little shake it a little bit tonight.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
Your little Kieley Ringo hips all live.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
But back to football.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
He hates America. It's truly America.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
We do it.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
He does what? Yeah? Oh my god, the more I
the more I start to uncover. Oh, we gotta put
it into it. We gotta not watch it.
Speaker 4 (41:13):
It's not hard. I mean, you gotta have every streaming
You're gonna have every streaming service and all this and
that anyway, So it's actually not that hard anymore to
to cut the to cut it off if we want to.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
Mm hmmm, oh, Coop, Coop and Cue. I thought I
meant the bonny.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
I was reading that really close. Dudes. I was wondering
when he where he was galling?
Speaker 2 (41:51):
Uh, I thought the bunny start.
Speaker 6 (41:53):
With Yet you hear about you hear about Cooper. I
saw a Pat McAfee clip today.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
You see that.
Speaker 5 (42:02):
I saw Patt McAfee clip today asking how many guys
get absolutely ripped in their meeting rooms after playing Cooper
de Gene.
Speaker 6 (42:10):
And get locked out like that's tough, man, that's tough.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
That was funny. Yeah, I think and I think that
whole crew named on the best the best Caucasian cornerback
of all time.
Speaker 5 (42:26):
Yeah, yeah, it might be.
Speaker 6 (42:28):
I think he already like the best white corner of
all time.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
Like, yeah, guys playing, guy's playing twenty games in his career.
Speaker 6 (42:37):
He's the best white cornerback of all time.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Mount Rushmore of white corners already on the mount.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Rushmore doesn't have to do anything else, could retire tomorrow,
and it's on the mount, on the mount, he's there,
all right, You tell me he's not.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
You're lying, all right? Use white folks were lying then.
If we're gonna tell you that, guys than cut.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Not in today's world. Not None of these guys try
to put back. Try Jason Seahorn in the slot. His
pants will fall down every play, all right, every play.
He's awesome though. I mean, we got lucky, dude, we
really did. It's not not often you hit on two
(43:22):
enough down on one, you know, to be able to
hit on two is it's something special. And to be
able to grow this defense the way they have, And
we're defensive city, you know. And I know we're always
going to eyes on the quarterback. I get it, I
know our truth, okay, but we are a defensive minded city.
We've been built as Eagles fans on the defense side
(43:43):
of the football. No matter what generation you grew up in,
if that's the Buddy Ryan era, if that's the goddamn
you know Jim Johnson error, right, it doesn't matter really
whatever you grew up on defense, and to have a
defense like this, I think we really don't talk about
him in the.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Listen to dial radio, So I don't really know.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
I've sort of secluded myself from from the Twitter and
everything like that, and I just focused on what I
watch and what I see, And you know, people we
talked to, right, our friends and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
That's where I gauge stuff off of anymore. You know,
I don't like gauging what they what they talk about.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
But what I see is.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
The events that carried over that momentum. And again, they
haven't gotten this act numbers to the level I.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Think they can get it to.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
But they take the football away, they get off the
field on third down, they make big plays when they
have to.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
I mean, just it's.
Speaker 4 (44:43):
Almost the opposite of what our offense does, right, Tommy,
Like our offense right now isn't lighting up the scoreboard, right,
isn't thrown for three hundred and fifty yards. But up
until this last week when you need a big drive,
Caitlin doesn't right our this week, probably, you know, you
could argue at certain times, wasn't their best performance. Sorry,
(45:08):
I just looking at there's a truck going on on side.
It's like eleven thirty at night, Like, what the hell
was a trunk gone? Ah it Well, probably wasn't their
best performance. But every time in that second half that
you needed to stop, or you needed to take away,
or you needed something, they did it. They delivered, you know.
And I think the pressures are there, right, It feels
like the pressures are there, they're just not able to
(45:29):
get the guy down. And I asked this to a
couple of friends because we were at the game.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
Right.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
I was at the game, and you obviously couldn't tell,
but it felt like that Sunday we were being held
a lot and there was not I don't think there's
a single holding call, maybe one one holding call, And
it just felt like watching it live. It looked like
that we were there, but you know, they would Baker
would scoot out and we'd be held trying to chase them,
or normally you get that call. And we just did
(45:58):
it on Sunday and I don't know if that came
over on I don't know if that was true, but
that's the way it felt like watching it.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
Yeah, I mean it looked a little bit like it.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
But again, you're right, they're getting They're getting the pressures
is not getting them down. Zach's coming bunches just like
hits in baseball. Yeah, you know, it's really similar. Again,
I'm not worried about it that yet because they're making plays, right,
They're cranking pressures in key spots, getting qbs off their
spots and and then being able to create turnovers out
(46:34):
of it or different things. I mean, have they gotten
lucky a little bit? I mean sure, I guess you
could say they have, right, Like you know, ball tips
off Travis Kelsey's hands in the macouba, right, it changes
that game. You know, we walk, we walk a game winning,
potential game winning field goal win that game. So I mean, yeah,
I mean we could say that, like some of it's luck.
But sometimes better be lucky than good. And when you're good,
(46:57):
you get that luck, you get those luck get that lock, right,
I mean, you drafted a guy that was a specimen
like that that's been known for blocking field goals in
the past. And if you watch them every game now
and you pay attention to them, and you start saying, ooh.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Ooh, almost got that one. Yeah, I always got that one.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
Now I'm doing it every every time he's out there, right,
and I see where they line themselves up now and
now I'm you know, now, I'm all, I don't fields,
but you know, all jokes aside puns.
Speaker 3 (47:25):
We're blocking everything right now.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Yeah, we're definitely not. We're definitely not getting the calls
like that. We're that You're right, I mean, we're we're winning,
not de spite of it, because we're we're getting calls
on the right, calls like it's sloppy self, absolutely right,
but we're not being favored. You know, I think you
look around Legan, everybody probably gets favored once in a
(47:51):
great while, you know.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
Yeah, that definitely felt like zone some day that we
weren't getting anything like of course, of course they would
picked that flag up on Jalen right, you know what
I mean, like and then very well might have been
shorter or shoulder right, like it very well might have been.
But you could also then correlate that to like I said,
(48:12):
maybe he got his belt rong because he was garbage
after that hit. But it's like, you see that flag
come in, You're like, yes, let's go with that. Of
course it's US no no penalty, and then there's then
there's a I felt like there's a bogus pass interference
call that we got called. And then Aj on the
one comeback that probably should have been picked, felt like
(48:36):
he got ran through before you know, before the.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
Ball got there, and of course no flag.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Yeah, what's that? Brian?
Speaker 5 (48:47):
What up?
Speaker 2 (48:48):
Brian?
Speaker 4 (48:48):
Thanks for joining in, brother.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
I don't believe there's any truth truth to it. Uh.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
I guess you could never say never with any player,
but I don't. I feel like the Patriots won as.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
The same guy just reporting it.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
I mean, I guess when they're smoke their's fire a
little bit, I don't know. I find it hard to
believe that they would deal them.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
It almost can't happen this year. He's got too much
dead cap space, too much cap tied up to him
that he can't get traded this year. It couldn't be possible.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
In the offseason, it could be, but this year, no,
it's not.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
It's not happening.
Speaker 5 (49:42):
I find it very hard to believe that they're gonna
move on from a guy who's just been thousand yards
thousand yards, thousand yards. Right, as you know, is boys
with your quarterback. You just gave him an extension, Right,
Are you really gonna move on from this guy?
Speaker 4 (50:01):
Really?
Speaker 5 (50:03):
You're really gonna move on from a top end wide.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Receiver in football?
Speaker 6 (50:07):
Is that what you're really gonna do?
Speaker 5 (50:09):
Like, yeah, I understand he might be a little, you know,
frustrated about the targets or the routes he's running or whatever. Right,
but he's a number one wide receiver. They all do
that shit. Oh, every single one of them wants the football, right.
I'm sure he's watching games on Sunday. He's seeing Puka
Nakua get fifteen catches a game. Well, he's like, why
(50:31):
am I not getting fifteen catches a game? Why am
I not getting more incentives? Why am I not gonna
be able to get D D D D? Right, I
can understand the frustration especially after last week where like
you said, he had seven balls thrown over his head.
He can't catch the baseball, can't catch football, Like, like,
I get it, I understand the frustration, but like, damn, dude,
(50:52):
we're not gonna move on from this guy. He's been
nothing but an absolute stud.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
Like it's just I'm gonna say something right now. So
if you take A J.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
Brown's career targets per games, okay, you get an average
of seven point stix targets a game for his career.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
If you take this year and you divide twenty eight
targets regardless if they regardless of how we feel about
all twenty eight targets, and you take twenty eight targets
about it.
Speaker 2 (51:24):
By four, you have seven. So Roman isn't falling.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
Yeah, all right, like like it's not it's not the
end here, It's okay, Like he's still getting the targets, right,
we got to connect on the targets.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
And we got to clean it up. But it's not
like he's not getting the targets.
Speaker 4 (51:45):
Now.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
I know it's an average, and we know about week three.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
Obviously a ton of targets there are Week one or
Week two we've been eat get any right, he got
what so we know about it. That again averages, but
it's probably the same thing over his career two where
he's at games where he and get a ton of
games where you.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
Got a batch naturally depending on the game.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
And nine targets in Tampa ten against the Rams, eight
against KSE and he had the one against Dallas, right,
and that's what created the whole conversation. But a targets,
ten targets, nine targets, like the targets are there. It's
now connecting on the targets, right, So I think.
Speaker 4 (52:23):
We can remember it too, Like I think this city
still loves to O, and t O is so much
more of a diva than that AJ and this team
loves and we still do, right, And they were both
just as equally as monsters and wide receivers on the field.
Obviously too is a gold jacket right Mount Rushmore type
(52:45):
of wide receiver. But I think in today's era you
could argue that AJ is that as well, right, I mean,
to did it for their long chevity of his career.
I don't think. I don't think AJ is gonna have
the career t O did.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (53:01):
But in terms of Beavis style. Every every number one
why you said it right, Every number one wide receiver
has these moments everything. And we go through this every
year with with with Aj it's it's won two weeks
and then it goes away.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
But we do this with Nick, and we do it
with other guys in this city, and we press it.
That's the problem here. Yeah, And like he knows he's
gonna get pressed on it, so he gets ahead of
it and in ways of tweeting and getting it out
off his chest in different ways where he doesn't get
explosive with the media.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
I know exactly what he's doing.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
Exactly what he's being coached to do is get it
to a twitter in some some cryptic way that makes
you feel better, right, and then you won't say something
into the media that goes, oh jesus.
Speaker 4 (53:43):
Here we go right that that overblows it.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, because they're they're hunting for it.
Speaker 4 (53:47):
Baby.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
They're not flying in that locker room anytime he doesn't
have a great game and they're flying in two receptions
seven yards. They don't care about the targets. What's wrong here?
Are your unhappy beat. It's the same thing they do
to Nick.
Speaker 4 (54:01):
Now, yeah, how do you.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
Feel not playing? I feel great?
Speaker 4 (54:05):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
I love I'm not playing. My favorite pastime is not playing.
And shut the hell up with the questions. So these
dryers seats go sprinting, And how do you feel about
not playing? How do you feel about not playing your targets?
You know what do you think the problem is? Blah
blah blah blah blah. Nothing positive. Just won a football games,
(54:28):
so we overblow it and then we make something that's
little and needs to get better.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
But we've had the consistency or we've shown we can
do it.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
As these four guys that have won a ton of
football games together already have shown that's.
Speaker 4 (54:42):
All they do.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
But they've also shown the ability to be explosive and
make these plays and be consistent. So it's like, just breathe,
like I know what I mean. He's got a job
to do, but you don't have a job to do
like that, it's not your job. Your job is not
that everybody has to say question in a different way.
I thought your job. Like if you think I didn't
(55:08):
get tired of him, I get tired of the local
media that wants.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
To divide our own teams. I get tired of it.
It's not as big of a deal as we think
it is.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
And if it is a big deal, the godfather of
his goddamn child is his quarterback.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
Oh shit, they can go have a conversation and work
it out.
Speaker 1 (55:31):
They playing together for a while. Now you think Jael
can't control him? Are we that stupid?
Speaker 4 (55:39):
Now?
Speaker 1 (55:41):
Are we that dumb as a fan base that we
don't believe our quarterback can control our number one wide
receiver and both of them? Actually, do you not think
that those three's relationship isn't deep enough?
Speaker 2 (55:56):
They don't need anybody else to come in that room.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
Yeah, you know, nobody else. Nick don't have to come
in the room. Nobody else let to come in the room.
If you think that's not true, shut the fuck up
and stop watching football. You think it's not true. If
you don't think that they can handle that on their
own at this point, you're a moron. This didn't even
Joe Barrol, Jamar Chathan T.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
Higgins.
Speaker 1 (56:20):
This isn't even closer. He's out to get closer than
that example he exhibit exhibit. Hey, hey here we go,
this is out.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
You got that yet?
Speaker 1 (56:31):
College career the same way with Davante and been boys
with aj forever like what he can't control it were
that's what we're saying. Then we got to take his
money in half then.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
And we know we can't. So what are we worried about?
Why are we gonna go sprinting.
Speaker 1 (56:50):
In look at look at the driver, se reporter, do
a seven eight forty seven eight, you loser? Stop asking it?
You know, like you know that you know the culture
that's built here, We know it. I mean it'sking them
to be I mean asking them to know what. I'm
(57:11):
asking the guys who do the writing and need to
get the Mica.
Speaker 2 (57:15):
I needs you to know it because it's fan base
deserves to know it.
Speaker 1 (57:21):
Don't screw up a bad culture because you can easily
do that as journalists easily, And he's not even journalists anymore.
These are shock jocks with pens.
Speaker 2 (57:32):
That's what it is. The shock jock with pens. Yeah,
oh I.
Speaker 4 (57:39):
Don't so.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
That being said, they're they're fine, Like they're fine.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
I'm not like I'm trying to come out the world here,
but like, man, I'm just trying to think about it
logically for two seconds.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
I don't think we have any logic in this they think.
Speaker 1 (57:55):
It gets video games like, I'm not head, he's done
playing with this guy. Like, guys, calm down, These guys
done a lot of winning together. Sure it's a j
stats matter to him, of course they do. Jael says,
I'll get.
Speaker 4 (58:13):
I got you, bro, and the matter than this team too, right,
Like we're you know, we need him.
Speaker 3 (58:18):
We're gonna need him a lot this year.
Speaker 4 (58:22):
It's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (58:23):
This is my home, that's what he says to that,
And we're worried about this guy. Yeah, this guy said
this is the home, im mat.
Speaker 4 (58:29):
The worst he does is the cryptic tweets, you know
what I mean. That's like the worst he does.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
Because he knows it isn't the way he gets attention
without without getting the catches.
Speaker 4 (58:38):
I know what he's doing. It's like it's like sending
the email to It's like sending the email to Drash right,
Like I'm gonna write this email out, but I'm gonna
send this to Drash.
Speaker 3 (58:46):
First before I rewrite the reel.
Speaker 4 (58:52):
It's like everybody at work, you know what I mean,
Like you type out that pissed off female, then you
delete it and you write the real one, right, So,
I mean we were up you know, we are uh
instant messenger away messages. I mean, how many cryptic ships
did we put out there? Any movie quotes or lyric
(59:13):
or song quotes then we put open the right person
would see it there?
Speaker 5 (59:18):
For me. For me, it's like I text you know,
you're you're in a group chat, right and you're texting
your boy on the side about whatever's happened in the
group chats. You're just like ye said, it's like that'd
be hilarious, but no, you probably shouldn't send that. That's
that's what I go through. So like, yeah, it's it's like,
come on, man, like it's it's not that hard, Like,
just keep keep it simple. Don't try to mess up
(59:41):
a team that again just wins football games. Dude, I
think like obviously we've always done this, but generally the
team is you know, not as good as it is
right now, right, But realistically, reporters want something to talk about.
It's not fun to be like, oh, yeah, we're four
and oh everything's great, Like obviously everything's not great.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
So what you're you're.
Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
Making up something? Hey, let's look at this one little tweet. Hey,
you know AJ was like last year. He's reading a
book on the sidelines, like like we're looking for things
to complain about. Yeah, there's stuff that isn't obviously perfect
right now, but you're four and oh and you haven't
looked great, okay, Like yeah, you can call back to
(01:00:27):
being you know, twenty twenty three and like, oh, we
were starting ten to one d.
Speaker 6 (01:00:32):
This team's better, it's better. It's not gonna be that right, Like, everybody.
Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
Relax, it's October first, everything will be fine, Okay, chill out.
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Oh he swoop swoop. You ever you ever just play
like backyard football with your boys?
Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
You know, you ever have guys like you want the football,
claim they're open blah blah blah blah blah and they're
friends of yours?
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
You ever try to force force them the football? Simple
as that, simple as that simple as that. You think
you think he don't feel it internally to get him
the football. You think he don't know always got two guys, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:01:23):
Absolutely does. And you again, you don't think that he
knows getting aj involved or getting Davante involved early and
often doesn't help this offense run the football better, you
know what I mean? Like, again, he's not a stupid quarterback.
He knows what that does. It knows it opens, run
leads for him, opens run leaves for Saquon. Right, so yeah,
(01:01:47):
he knows all that, and it's just not working right now.
It's not not the end of the world. It's gonna happen.
It's gonna work, and we're still gonna be there at
the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
What to take the one homer, the one oppo double
to get your party started? Yeah, getting locked in? It
takes one game. Yeah, it takes one game to start. Okay,
you know we start getting in rhythm or really just
getting in rhythm early, or one big play like it
doesn't take a lot. He does not take a lot
to get going. We've talked about it nausey and nobody's
(01:02:18):
concerned here. Let's get in our players at the game.
We all gave a score prediction. We'll give it again. Craig,
go ahead, you can, you can leave it off.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
It's going on.
Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
I'll go. I'll go with Criptic tweet himself, I'm going AJ.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Yeah, numbers to support your AJ Pat thirteen.
Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
I'm going nine catches a buck twenty five and two.
Oh my guy, Pat, Wow, do you remember I mean,
let's just remember who A. J. Brown is eleven straight
or seven straight, eleven straight games, one hundred and twenty
five yards or hundred yards two years ago, something like that. Right,
(01:02:57):
Let's like, let's remember who this guy is.
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
How about this.
Speaker 1 (01:03:02):
Nomber about going to the backfield, because I mean we're
talking about dual and we're talking about you know, he's
always won one attempt away from going house call.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
I mean it's Siquon Barkley's overdue.
Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
I mean Agent got his in week three, hasn't got
his yet in terms of that big game, he's overdue.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
On the ground, two touchies, breaks, one fifty plaus fire
me up. I love and we'll talk at the end
of the game. We didn't throw well, no ok.
Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Agent has a good game too, though, Greg, to your point,
I think he gets a toddy and he has he
has seven or eight catches, so it's a feel good game,
not seven or eight for forty two yards like seven
or eight eighty ninety nine.
Speaker 4 (01:03:48):
Yea, I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
Yeah, I'm gonna take the Heisman winning wide receiver to
go cook his boy again.
Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
Go cook his boy again.
Speaker 5 (01:03:58):
You know he gave Pat two four years ago in
his rookie season could give him another two. Maybe maybe
he doesn't have as many yards as AJ but gets
the couple of big catches.
Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
I think you catches out here here just respect and past.
I am man at up.
Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
Top all day. I watched, I watched. I still remember
Davante and his rookie season, just cooking, absolutely taken at
the school in Denver.
Speaker 6 (01:04:31):
It was disgusting.
Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
I don't know that's got a lot better, but there
might not be a better route runner in football. And
Devonte Smith, that's I don't know how he's not open
all the time.
Speaker 5 (01:04:40):
I'm gonna go for He's gonna have five catches for
eighty eight yards and two tundies.
Speaker 4 (01:04:48):
Each. One of our started having two tundies.
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
I got thirty eight points.
Speaker 5 (01:04:53):
We need touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Points defense side of football, Greg, I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:05:01):
Gonna I'm gonna stay with my guy, ed red blanket ship.
I think he's really I mean that, I like you said, live,
we didn't realize he tipped it and it makes that
play so much better from the other day.
Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Mmm. Tough man, Uh, I want to do that. Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Somebody's getting two sacks, oh, Darius Smith, two sacks. I
wanted to go Jawn Carter, But I just feel like
he's gonna get triple team whole game. I think I
went in the last week and he did and he
did not have a great one. So I'm gonna steer clear.
Speaker 5 (01:06:00):
Uh, Jordan Davis game, Jordan Davis game, He's gonna he's
gonna deflect two passes at the line of scriptage to
deflections at the uh and a force fumble.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
Oh my goodness, do we get another big man rumbling,
stumbling fumbling?
Speaker 6 (01:06:18):
No, no, I think uh, who picks it up?
Speaker 5 (01:06:23):
Who picks it up?
Speaker 6 (01:06:23):
Zach Bowln dives on top of it?
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Oh? Jalai was a scratch or whatever it is the
first week, last two.
Speaker 6 (01:06:31):
Weeks, last three weeks. Yeah, he hasn't been anywhere, so.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
Not ideal for him. Well, not great, but listen.
Speaker 4 (01:06:42):
And kind of what we maybe expected though, right, like
not everybody who's gonna play.
Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
I know, I think I would say, you're probably wrong. Yeah,
I thought he's played well. No, right, well yeah, yeah,
to your point, knew weren't going to get both. You
said that, you said that before the season, we just
need one of them, right or yeah, I think it
was you we said it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
I agreed with you. You just need one of them,
you know, one of them have to ask the as
to pan out and we'll be okay. And then you
know they go get the Darius and you know you
lose Noman Smith with a killer.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
But you want to know what Adam I mean, he's
got you know, find ways and tread water and you
know you'll be okay. But I think they'll show a
little bit more of a pulse this week. They're getting
close to that. It could be a good week for
it too. It's the guy I think you can get
after uh, you know NFL's week the week, but either way,
(01:07:42):
we're off the NFL Red October and then we'll.
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Get what what happens when the Kobe comes back. Very
interesting question right.
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Now, Well, Joe Hot plays, Joe Hot plays a lot
more edge, and.
Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
Vic Fangio said that's not happening. He's already come out
and said Jihad is not playing edge.
Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
Okay, I guess you answered joan question.
Speaker 4 (01:08:11):
But I'm saying he's playing so well, do you take
him off the field?
Speaker 5 (01:08:15):
No, I don't know what you do.
Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
It's gonna be it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.
In two weeks. I don't think this week, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
Think I don't think it's I don't think it's I
don't think it's that interesting yet, Craig. And I'll tell
you why, because I mean, the guy had a really
bad injury. Yeah, I think even though he's cleared, I
think they're gonna take it slow with him too.
Speaker 4 (01:08:38):
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
He's gonna play too, He's gonna get you.
Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
Know, yeah, I hear you there.
Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Five snaps the game, ten snaps the game like it
will be a slow burn for him, is my guess.
And you know they figure they figured that out down
the road, right, But the guy has never been Yeah,
that healthy is concerning, so I think, yeah, you better
bring him on long slow. That's where I'm at with it.
But it's a good question. I just I don't think
(01:09:05):
they have to make that decision yet. And I don't
think they have to make a decision like you can
lose your job to a guy if you're not healthy,
like it happens.
Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
Yeah, but I don't know. But I don't have to
be the one in that locker, you know that stuff.
Speaker 6 (01:09:20):
It's a very good problem to have, yeah, very good
problem to have.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
Team didn't have enough linebackers. Now we've got too many.
You know, I'm talking about trains act boring.
Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
Pro.
Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
We'll trade it all pro. No, he's a great pit sir.
I mean, I think there's roles for him. I think
you can play all three in different spots because the
way I don't want to John gave up the deep bault,
but that wasn't on him. That played last one hundred
and nine cents.
Speaker 4 (01:09:49):
But you know they all cover well.
Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
So I think you can do a lot of things
with him, depending on the type of matchups you have, right,
depending on type of team you're playing.
Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
So yeah, I'm not worried about it. You can't have
too much. Looks like.
Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
Probably are playing the Dodgers, and I can tell you
we knew that already, right, No, game's not over.
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
Yeah, and I'm going to say, is the Dodgers bullpen's atrocious.
Philly is in five five you gotta go on five,
probably going five four?
Speaker 6 (01:10:27):
I got I mean, I got.
Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
Phills four.
Speaker 5 (01:10:30):
Four, You win the first two at home, you drop
game three, win in game four.
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
A good team though, Yeah, but their bullpen's not good enough.
And and what we do great is we hit on
the from the seventh on. So I think that's the
difference in this series. And I think that's why Philly
is in five down. Wise, if they had a pen,
it's the closest series. I mean, you know, they might
be better than us, but they don't have it, you know,
(01:10:58):
And that happened that I think's a killer this time.
Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
Of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
You've seen it, two Knights in a row at big
leads and they can't they can't put it away no
matter who they bring it. So it's not if I'm
a Dodgers fan and coming into a series where I
know the team rakes bullpens not ideal. So that's why
I got a five, right, because they're good if they
had if they had the pieces in the pen or
their pen was better, right, I think they're they might
(01:11:23):
be better. They didn't have it all year.
Speaker 6 (01:11:27):
I think we're Yeah, absolutely, I think we're.
Speaker 5 (01:11:31):
It's I think we're a good matchup, Like we have
a good match We match up well against the Dodgers, right,
who all of their best hitters are what lefties? Right,
So yeah, Freddie Freeman rights.
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
Yeah, Mookie is the only one who's not. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:11:47):
I mean, lookie, you know they Oscar Andez is pretty good.
But again, like you know, we all know the Dodgers
are good, right. I think the Phillies won the season series.
They won the season series. I think they took two
out of three here in Phil. I think he took
three out of four out in LA. So you won
five of this eight games that you played seven, eight
(01:12:08):
games whatever it was. You know, their starters shoved out
in LA. Philly's won three out of four games. Again,
like I'm obviously I'm a little concerned by the Dodgers. Obviously,
the reigning world champions. They are until they're not right,
(01:12:29):
but they gotta come here. They gotta come here first, right,
If we were going there then they had the fifth
game at home. If we potentially got there, then you know,
I'd probably be a little bit more hesitant. But you
played well enough and you went out there in September.
You took three out of four in La.
Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Yeah, like I said, I think we win to here,
we probably dropped to there, or or we get game
four there, right, That's how I look at it. And
if we don't get game four, we take it at
game five back here. That's where I like, I'm close
with you you know what I mean? That game four
is the is the toss up game for me, like
they we win to here, they absolutely got to win
(01:13:09):
Game three there, you know it must win for them.
Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
I think they get that they're too good. They get swept,
and then that's where I think game four is at.
That's the game.
Speaker 3 (01:13:21):
Oh billy blue balls, what's up?
Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
Brother?
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
Get your balls out?
Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
Well? Also that game four too, is that's the unknown
for us right room right for them and for them, well, no,
it'll probably be Snell or Snell might be Game three,
so it will be show Hey. Well you have my
moto win today, so it'll be show Hey, it'll be
(01:13:50):
Glass now Snell.
Speaker 5 (01:13:53):
Yeah, and then you'll get show.
Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
Glash now healthy.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
I think, so, how many is that.
Speaker 4 (01:14:04):
Going? Game one? Most I would assume he's game one?
Speaker 6 (01:14:07):
Yeah, game one he threw six, shut out, he.
Speaker 4 (01:14:14):
Went five.
Speaker 5 (01:14:16):
He went five against the Phillies, shut them out. He
went six in his last in his last start.
Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
Whenever that was do we know any pitches.
Speaker 4 (01:14:26):
I can to find?
Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
It is the guys you want a limit? Still?
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:14:31):
Really?
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Okay, so we're fucked all right, I got you, I
got you? Not really get so the only chances we
have is getting in.
Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
It, and there are pins atrocious.
Speaker 5 (01:14:43):
I disagree that we're that we're fucked. You know why,
because you saw these guys a month ago. You saw
everybody here in the scene in the series. You saw
him a month ago.
Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
I understand.
Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
I just don't like tiny Game one, all right, Sorry,
I'm sorry. But being feared by the best player in
the sport, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Right that that guy
makes me nervous. Game one here, Okay, I can't.
Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
I didn't want to play the alien. I don't want
to play the alien. I understand, right, But he has
never pitched the playoff. He's never pitched the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
I mean, I can't. I got you, m jack.
Speaker 5 (01:15:19):
He uh.
Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
He threw eighty seven in August against the Reds. He
threw seventy against the the Orioles. He threw sixty eight
against us, and then he threw ninety one against Arizona
a week ago.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Conversation over, he stretched out, good to go, He's yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
So this is a series of getting in say it again,
it's the series of getting into the bullpen.
Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
All right, and you win this series, get into the bullpen.
Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Right, We got to keep game close, getting to the
pen and like we're watching here, red Zevn capitalized on
in two nights, but getting to the pen, right.
Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
Dodgers are feeling like one hundred pitches in the eighth
inning in the first two games, in the two games
in the series, one hundred pitches and and somehow the
Reds and I.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
Love it, And I love that they're hitting right because
that tells me that's gonna cool down.
Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
Yeah, I love keep it, keep hitting every home run.
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
I love it to sweep. It's over Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:16:22):
Now. You guys don't play baseball for a while either,
so I like that you get some days. You get
some down days now too, so I can it evens
that out a little bit. What was the last game Sunday?
Speaker 4 (01:16:35):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:16:35):
Yeah, they're playing Inner Squad today?
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Yeah, I knew that inter Squad today and more fans
in the Indians gam correct, not surprise.
Speaker 4 (01:16:46):
For a faking I.
Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
Mean, this series is on Christopher Sanchez. The story this
series starts with Christopher Sanchez. It's on Christopher Sanchez. I
mean he's you know, he's been great all year, so
I don't expect something different saying's got being as is
shoved this time of year, I need to shove. I gotta,
I gotta overmatch Otani. I gotta be better than O Tony.
That's how good I need him to be in game one,
(01:17:08):
and we only need to be in game one. Game two?
Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Who we get?
Speaker 4 (01:17:13):
Who is it?
Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
Nola? No, it's it's gonna be Ranger, Ranger.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
I don't like that.
Speaker 6 (01:17:24):
I think he's gonna him four.
Speaker 4 (01:17:26):
I think no Wa pitched his first game out out
on the road because it's Robbie trust him. Robbie trust him.
He said that today on the clip I heard on
he was on the ninem W I.
Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
B because we trust him more on the road than
at home.
Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
Right, I think Robbie does.
Speaker 5 (01:17:41):
I trust putting.
Speaker 6 (01:17:44):
If it was me, I.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Would have word it's better than his home Karen.
Speaker 5 (01:17:49):
I feel like Aaron gives up more home runs at
home than he does.
Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
On the road, but it is always better on the road,
or vice versa. Who was bad at home last year?
Speaker 4 (01:17:58):
Uh, Sanchez on the road.
Speaker 5 (01:18:02):
So Sanchez goes game one and then potentially game was
better at home. No, Noel's better on the road.
Speaker 4 (01:18:09):
I think No better on the road.
Speaker 5 (01:18:11):
So I yeah, you go Sanchez if it was.
Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Me, I struggled on the road, That's what it was.
Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
I would better home.
Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
I go Noel game too, then no, I would go Sanchez.
Speaker 5 (01:18:24):
I would go Sanchez, Lozardo, Nola, Ranger or Ranger Nola,
whichever way you want to do that, because I've I've
watched Ranger Suarez pitch.
Speaker 6 (01:18:34):
In Atlanta and shut down.
Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
A braves off. I love I love where your I
love Ranger and Nola.
Speaker 5 (01:18:40):
In l A. That's yeah, that's that's what I would do,
because we this is Wizardo's second time pitching in the postseason.
Speaker 6 (01:18:47):
He pitched with the Marin Marlins a year or two ago.
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Whenever that was who's your game?
Speaker 4 (01:18:52):
Five?
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Guy, hold on, who's your game?
Speaker 7 (01:18:55):
Okay, Sanchez, so you go Sanchez again. If this is me,
I would go stand.
Speaker 5 (01:19:01):
Loo, Ranger, Nola.
Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
I'm with you. I'm with you. I'm with you, got
right now.
Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
You can flip flop Rangers here bad. You can flip
flop Ranger and Nola if you want.
Speaker 5 (01:19:14):
I expect the Dodgers to win Game three, and I
would want to have Nola pitching game for because that
dude in closed out games has been absolute nails.
Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
His entire career.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
Yeah, I think he's gonna have a monster postseason.
Speaker 4 (01:19:26):
I really do.
Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
I think that last start was so key getting in
a little bit of a groove here for him.
Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
Ye. I don't care who you're playing, you just need
to get in the group.
Speaker 5 (01:19:37):
Yeah. Both, for what it's worth, both he and Lizardo
went three shut innings today.
Speaker 6 (01:19:42):
Yeah, had nine kates.
Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
Apparently he shuck everybody out.
Speaker 6 (01:19:45):
He shuck everybody out.
Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
Heart Heart took great start, Heart took Bueller deep.
Speaker 5 (01:19:54):
Bueller's going to be good out of the pen.
Speaker 4 (01:19:56):
I think. I think he's going to serve a purpose.
Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
You get out of the fence because you know that,
you know, for whatever reason, Uh, Copper loves taking Ranger
out early in playoff games.
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
Who's gonna come in in LA.
Speaker 5 (01:20:13):
It's not gonna be Taiwan Walker.
Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
Walker Biel is gonna pitch in l A in game
three or game four? Don it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
I'm not.
Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
I don't know if I like that, but I know
that he's pitched there before and he knows how to
do it.
Speaker 4 (01:20:30):
Yeah. I mean I like the fact that he like
after his start on what was it Saturday or Sunday,
he went to the pen and threw more. Yeah, because
he just knew. He just knows he's going to have
to here in the postseason. I like the mentality of him. Yeah,
I mean, I don't know if he's gonna have a
huge impact, but that's why they brought him in. They
(01:20:51):
brought him in for this, right, held, the starts were
whatever and actually didn't turn out too bad, right, he
was pretty nowhere runs, right, so he did really well.
But they brought him in for a role here in
the playoffs, knowing that he's pitched in big games, knowing
that he's not afraid to take the ball, and in
(01:21:13):
an instance where you need to maybe get through a
lineup once or twice, that's the guy that he's going
to do.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:21:22):
I mean, you know, he's obviously better than having Taiwan
Walker come out, like Walker, Bueler is absolutely the better
player there. You can throw away everything that was prior
to him coming to the Phillies this year, like he
was an absolute dog in the playoffs last year.
Speaker 6 (01:21:39):
Yeah, and his entire career.
Speaker 5 (01:21:41):
Again, the dude's been really really good outside of you know,
the Red Sox letting him go for whatever reason that
wasn't a fit.
Speaker 6 (01:21:49):
It didn't work out for him, and like they look, you're.
Speaker 5 (01:21:52):
Coming into a clubhouse that expects to go out there
and win, and you don't have to be the guy, right,
You just give me a nitning or two, right, give
me one time through the order, right, that's all you
gotta do, and then we'll figure it out from there.
Speaker 6 (01:22:07):
So he doesn't have a whole lot of pressure, but
he knows how to pitch in pressure situations.
Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
He sure does.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:22:18):
And even yeah, again, not gonna need You're not gonna
need it because of just the way the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
Are with with the days off and stuff like that.
But I'll tell you what down to stretch.
Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
The Taiwan Walker Walker Buehler back to back wasn't bad,
you know what I mean. Taiwan goes three one again,
one run to the rotation coming Walker Bule goes three
one run through the rotation or through the lineup, and
then you get into your back end.
Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:22:47):
Again, like you said, you're not gonna have to do
that because you got four starters that you know. If
you get to the NLCS in the World Series again,
you just have these guys in the bullpen who are
ready to go.
Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:22:56):
Right, So, like we talked about this like mid season
about like, you know, assuming that back before Wheeler got hurt,
like which of our starters is going.
Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
In the bullpen?
Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
Right?
Speaker 6 (01:23:07):
And okay, cool, it's none of them.
Speaker 5 (01:23:09):
But now you have this guy right who again has
a ton of playoff experience, has won a World Series. Right,
you know you didn't expect you to be able to
get a guy like that, and I.
Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
Wanted him in the full all season, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
Like that was one of those those debth pieces that
I that I would have liked them to go after
h And I'm glad it worked out the way it
is because I think if it potentially could have worked
out the same way with us that it did in Boston,
you know, it wasn't ready to just you know, uh
worked out well that we got him on a rebound
(01:23:44):
and now we got him kind of like, hey, pissed off,
I need I need to show out here to.
Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
Get another contract. Yep, you know, like you know, this
guy's want a contract here, yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (01:23:55):
Mean, and and he he wants to keep playing.
Speaker 5 (01:23:57):
So in theory, it could be here, right because Rangers
a free agent that boys that mean's gonna get a ton.
Speaker 6 (01:24:04):
Of money in free agency, right, who's the cheaper of
the two options?
Speaker 4 (01:24:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:24:10):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:24:10):
And again, you're not gonna ask Walker Wheeler to be
a number two, number three starter. He's gonna be your
number four, number five right, Like, you know, maybe you
don't get a ton of money, but would you rather
be a number four number five here have a chance
to win or go to Cincinnati per se?
Speaker 4 (01:24:29):
Right? Yeah, I mean obviously we're not there, but I
think this all season gets gets absolutely nuts and tall
in terms of like what happens, depending depending on how
the season ends.
Speaker 5 (01:24:42):
Oh yeah, you could have it be hey, we're running
it back. You could also have it be hey, we're
blowing it up.
Speaker 6 (01:24:47):
That's how that's how.
Speaker 4 (01:24:49):
Do Hey we won everybody just right off in the sunset, right,
we'll retire. Let swibber, you know what I mean, Like,
let's swimmer walk right, like just kind of reset.
Speaker 5 (01:24:59):
Everyth Yeah, I mean it could be obviously the options
are incredible, and I don't want to get there yet.
Speaker 4 (01:25:08):
There I don't.
Speaker 6 (01:25:08):
I don't want to have that conversation for a month.
Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
But.
Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
You know, it could be.
Speaker 6 (01:25:13):
It could be wild, Yes, absolutely could be.
Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
Oh it will be wild.
Speaker 5 (01:25:20):
Well, it depending on whatever happens with the postseason regards
it will be wild.
Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
It's gonna be a green I'm saying. I will be like,
if we don't play well, it definitely will be wild.
And if we play well and really well, we saw
what happened with the Eagles, so m hm, you know
it goes and go that way too. But either way,
Kyle Schover's back, and yes, the rest of the guys
(01:25:50):
will determine their their postseason mhmm.
Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
And that goes for Ranger as well.
Speaker 1 (01:25:58):
Scottie boris a little hard the well the hard to
get every door you want if.
Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
Yeah, hey, that's the truth.
Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
But looking forward to it, excited for it. I assume unless.
Speaker 8 (01:26:16):
Saturday Sunday, so it's Saturday and Monday, Saturday, you don't
play Sunday, Saturday and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, potentially.
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
That Thursday has some potential to be an all time day.
Speaker 1 (01:26:32):
So far all three games, there'll be the late Kings
in l A hopefully like this time, so we'll be good. Yeah,
So Wednesday, Wednesday away, Thursday away, right, yeah, and then.
Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
That I takes you only back to back of the
of the the series.
Speaker 5 (01:26:53):
Then it would if it gets the five, I guess
it'll be Saturday.
Speaker 4 (01:26:57):
Okay, your I don't know if you guys heard, but
the Rod said this, said something today where he was like, yeah,
I'm bored just coming in for three outs.
Speaker 3 (01:27:05):
Sometimes you're like huh but to that point.
Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
Now with these days off and stuff, now you might
be able to see him get four outs, five outs,
you know, to get a save like that.
Speaker 5 (01:27:18):
So uh, I mean, we didn't ask him to do it, right,
and you we have it. No, no, again, he's he's
done it before, but we just haven't asked him to
do it.
Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
We have it.
Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
And you know, you come out and you talk that ship,
you better be lights out right.
Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
Don't come out here and say like, yeah, you know,
sometimes I get bored and then you go ahead and
blow the save, because the then that doesn't work out
for us.
Speaker 6 (01:27:46):
I saw DoD is just one.
Speaker 4 (01:27:50):
Comfort. Can't wait.
Speaker 5 (01:27:55):
Yep, love me some red october Man, which tickets weren't
one hundred dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Welcome to the jungle, la, that's all.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Yep, Keep paying those homers.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
Wait, game's over, no more, no more? Now you're done?
Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
All right? Boys? Well, great stuff. We'll obviously talk Wednesday again,
and we'll be talking about Dodgers Phillies, another Eagles win.
Speaker 4 (01:28:25):
And somewhat live reaction next thing.
Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
You know, I mean, we'll we'll be on. They'll probably
like the fourth inning.
