nothing lead cough and away. If one away, we'll talk
about that. Eagles finally lose. Cough went away, yeah, one away, Yeah,
(01:18):
welcome the Philly Sports.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
But before I even get into the poll.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Question, something happened today. Something happened inside inside my you
know what I mean. It'side my house. It's something new,
something new, something I wasn't I don't know if I
was ready for it. So you know, we we now
know what the Eagles are. My little guy, we now know.
Were now understand the Eagles. Okay, then we understand football.
(01:45):
We understand who they were playing. They're playing the Broncos.
He got all these little football guys. He's got Eagles guys,
Broncos guys all so he matches them all up and
blah blah blah blah blah. Their Eagles are winning and
everything's good. But you know, Eagles lose, says we all know.
He then realized the Eagles lose, and there was at
least two to three different mouthdowns throughout the night about
(02:08):
the Eagles losing and how the.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
Eagles must think. Now that's what it is. The Eagles stink already.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
He's crying.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
He's crying hysterically about it, like hysterically crying, like like
the Eagles stink now I'm like, they don't stink, like
we're awesome.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Actually it's okay, Like I'm like, I get it. I've
been there. I kept out him like I did it.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
I was when I was ranged.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
I understand. Yeah, I read a lot of things you
got it easy, but but I said, that's part.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Of sports, Like you're gonna you're gonna win games, you're
gonna lose teams.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
But I just thought that was funny.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
I wanted to share that before I forgot to share it.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
But we officially are here.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Okay, and welcome to the misery cast that is Philadelphia Sports. Well, welcome, Welcome.
We know how to win too, right seventeen three? We
all to win yet, right, and.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
See if this win helps us moving forward.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Oh, despite how shocking the loss was, getting humbled in
Week five will ultimately be a good thing for the
Eagle's long term Super Bowl chances.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Do you agree or disagree? Let us know.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, that's what we're live everywhere. You get
your podcasts with there as well, hit the like subscribe file.
Most importantly, join the conversation. Because because I think I
know this football team, I feel like I know their makeup.
I feel like I know their toughness. Right, these are
things I want to believe in from what I've seen
through twenty two games, twenty three games, right, I'm going
(03:39):
to agree.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Sometimes you need to get.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Punched in the mount in all sports, sometimes you need
to get squared, especially after that much success and you
skate and by games early on, right, I mean, you
gotta find ways to win. They did, right, but not
clicking on all cylinders. Sometimes you need the loss mixed
it and the way they lost it while getting the
(04:02):
receivers involved in all that, which sort of calms that
down a little bit, right, makes sense and sort of
calms that down, but you're still lost.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
I think they could be a good thing for this
football team. I do. I do that to me being hopeful.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Glass half full, But why shouldn't we be glass half full?
I said this weekend and week out, okay, And I
think they learned something today, and well, you learn it
something that I said for two years, okay, something that
happened last year and they won twenty one games until
they stopped doing it.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Okay, until they decided, you know.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
What, we're gonna go the other way and we're gonna
we're gonna cater we're gonna cater to our wide receivers,
and we're gonna cater to the fans because winning isn't
good enough anymore. So we're gonna cater to everybody. Here's
what happened to that. We're gonna cater to everybody and
do what everybody else wants us to do. That's more
important than winning. So we go when we do that,
and we have a great first half, and then we
decide to carry the cater in the second half.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Okay, long story short, and all that we lost.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
I've said for two years, if you keep channing twenty
five twenty eight attempts, the Eagles won't lose. They won't lose.
They won't And they did it. And I'm never not right.
Never time have I ever been that right. And I
got one right. And today when I could feel it,
I could feel it even before when it was seventeen three.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
It was one of those things that I could feel happened.
Speaker 6 (05:25):
Well, yeah, we weren't. We weren't given the ball to
our best player. When you have two touchdowns. Everyone could
feel it.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
But theyre talk me about giving the ball to your
best player with two touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
I mean, conn is no hear you, but conn is
before I e the ball before Okay.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
You're not You're not me to be in my in
my in my brain at halftime.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
I'm talking about halftime, Okay, I might even talking about
the second half.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
I'm saying coming on the quarter was agreed. Just halftime,
we were okay, we're.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
In good spot.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Anthem, you might have felt okay, but I had a
feeling there. Come out and they were gonna try to
force the football gain more, right, and they did enforce.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
It in the first half.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
But I had a feeling that Denver was going to
change their game and we're going to continue to do
what we were trying to do in.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
The first half and it wasn't gonna work.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
And here we were okay because that's one big play
and right, and that's where that's where I felt.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
So there's my rant on. I agree.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I think sometimes not even getting humbled, just just losing
a tough one, losing the game. You should have a
game you gave away. Can we bring it together a
little bit? You got a short week here and a
Giants team that you're way better than. Go feel good
and gets and get off our feet for a little
bit because that's the most important thing. We got guys
(06:34):
nicked up, banged up a little bit, and that's what
happens when you have a long season last year, we
can really use this mini by after Thursday. Landon Dickson's
not fully healthy. He could use the extra days have
even placed Thursday.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Our whole line basically isn't.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
This should be a classic land in your you're sitting
until Minnesota?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, I agree, I agree, But I agree to the
poll because I want to because I believe in this
football team. I believe in their body at work over
the last three years. I really don't think this is
two years ago. I want to believe this is the
same football team that just went and and went belt
they asked the kan see the Chiefs in the Super Bowl,
and is the class of the NFC. I believe that's
(07:14):
who they are. And they've won a lot of big
games already this year. So until that, until that changes, guys,
I'm not gonna win one loss and one cough up,
even though it's at home and with a lead, which
makes it worse. Okay, I'm not gonna let it define
this season or who I think they are, or if
I don't think they can't rebound from this. It's week
(07:36):
five of the NFL season, and I'd rather get I'd
rather get these losses out of the way.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
I kind of agree with everything you said there, except
it looks this season so far has looked more like
the season two years ago than the season last year,
because we were skating by like two years ago. We
were four now, but we were skating by, and we
were saying, we don't look that good. We're winning games,
but we don't look good. That's how we've been this
year because we can't run the football. We got a
(08:03):
lot of injuries, We're banged up. The receivers are whining.
Everyone's whining. People around Pound are whining, like, Okay, we
haven't lost, but everyone I think everyone can agree. We
kind of saw a loss coming, like we haven't been
playing good enough football, kind of smell a loss coming.
So in that aspect, they should be able to bounce
back from this. Maybe in twenty one of the last
twenty three games, and then one of the losses Jalen
(08:25):
got hurt and Bailey played in.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
So I mean, we're fine, We're.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
Fine, but it does smell a little more like two
years ago than last year. Which is unsettling. And the
injuries are mounting and the penalties have been mounting, so
not a good combination.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yeah, the only thing I'll push back there will since
twenty twenty three, we didn't know how to win a
Super Bowl yet, right, and this team got over that hump.
So I'm I'm believing that this team knows how to
win when it needs to and up until today they've
shown that, right, And I think and I think that
gives you a little bit more benefited of doubt than
twenty twenty three. Although on the surface, on the surface
(09:06):
and eyeballs, you're right, except for this team. Most of
this team has gotten over that hump last year.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
No, No, I'll give you that. But I mean, okay,
that's true. That matters when it comes to playoff time
for sure. Right now, though we can't run the football,
last year, we run football on everybody. There's a lot
of there's a lot of differences between the team this
year and last year. A lot of the same guys
just don't disagree with football.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
I don't disagree there, and I think Tommy's pointed out
last last week or last Wednesday, you know, losing McKay
beck then obviously is a huge deal game a lot,
regardless of regardless of what he grated out as right,
we now see that that is such a huge deal.
We just talked about Atlanta Dickerson. Lanta Dickerson obviously hasn't
(09:51):
been healthy since Jump Street. And I think if there's
ever a time, like I said, if there's ever a
time to say, hey, sit down this week and get
Brent toath a whole week of practice with the number ones.
You know, even it is a short week though, right,
but give him a whole week of practice and just
let let Landon get off his feet till we come
back from Minnesota. I think this is the week winner lose.
(10:14):
When he came out, it was to me it was
like Landa should sit for two weeks, maybe even all
way through the by right, depending on depending on what
goes on. Because so I agree with a poll as well,
And if you look at our next three games, I
think it lines up perfectly and obviously rather not. You
don't ever want to lose, right, But I'm much rather
lose than the Broncos in this in this game than
(10:36):
lose to the Giants in one of the next three
two or the next three right, but you go Giants
on the road, Minnesota back Giants. Bye week, right, we
hit the bye week seven and one. I think everybody's
sitting there pretty you know, and I think this this
this loss hopefully does that because Tommy, like you said,
and Wilson, like you said, we think we know this team.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Even six and two makes you feel good going in
play Yeah, like who's who's Who's that upset? Even if
it doesn't look great, Like you're not looking good, but
you're still six and two, like you're.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Looking football looking a little better.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Well, I gave you to see the.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
Run the ball a little bit better.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I mean, and I ain't the playoffs, but today was
the example of it, though, Like this is this is
what drives me crazy. Like today was the example, Like
you ran like get he had like five carries in
the first half that was in like five yards of
cliff A. J. Jillon had some carries. He was running hard.
But it was all set up from the past. I'm
the believer and throw early, throw early to set up
(11:38):
your running game because you're not running it like you
were last year.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
So now you've got to set it up. Now you
have to set it up. Yeah, they did that. You
did that and the whole second half Elli and still
didn't give him the ball. Didn't do it again.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
And that's what that's what's mind bogglings like you did
exactly what I wanted you to do game plan wise
this week in the first half and the second half.
You said, you know what, we were playing Madden. We
enjoyed so much what we did in the first half.
We're gonna get both these wide receivers to one hundred
yards a piece. Instead of saying, Okay, this doesn't approve
a point. Game is to prove out to continue to win.
(12:13):
This is to go five and zero right and say, guys,
you guys can think whatever you want to think on
the outside.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
We're here to win football games.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Our legacy isn't defined by how many touchdowns I scored.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
If you can go win three championships, the stats don't matter. Dude, agreed,
Like somebody.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Needs to like call agent called Demonte and say, listen,
I don't know if you guys know this, but if
you win three titles, you're walking the canton. You're you're
walking the can't Your legacy is is defined.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Shit, even I would the four You know what I mean,
I need you to stop whining.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
I don't. You can be you can be frustrated. I
get it.
Speaker 6 (12:57):
I mean I think everyone is frustrated with how the
offense has looked. Everyone, everyone in the everyone that's an
Eagles fan and try state area and where an Egles
fan in the world is probably frustrated with how the
offense has looked.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
But you can't wear the frustrations on your sleeve. You can't.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
Everyone knows you're moping because everyone can see you moping.
You're open on the one long ball. Hey, you stopped running. Yeah,
I mean, come on, you're moping, dude. I'll tell him
straight up, stop moping, or we'll create in the fucking
jets and you can have fun catching balls and going eighteen.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Have fun. I got no time for.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
It for the first time, the first time, for the
first time ever. I'm at the point where I can't
believe I'm saying this. Because I have DeVante Smith, Right,
because I have Devonte Smith, then I would consider I
would consider moving.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
I'm not gonna trade them, but I would just I would.
I would try to scare them.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
I'm crazy.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
I'm crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I'm allutic No because we ain't gonna mess up winning,
like we're not going to mess up the fact of
what this is about.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
And also I would tell the offensive coordinator listen, he
can whine.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
We don't have to try to force feed him, especially
when the defensive player of the year raining defensive is
guarding him. We don't need to try to force feed
this guy. We have a two touchdown lead. Run the
football all.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
I'm not trying to trade him, but I'm just saying
if somebody called, somebody called it, if somebody called it
a bad team calling off for the first next year,
and like a third I would I would listen. Have
a bad team day, like a team I feel like
it's gonna drop in the top ten. I would absolutely listen,
right because I have holes. I have needs, like I
have offensive line needs like I could I could use
(14:28):
an extra first round pick because I'm gonna win by
how good my offensive line is.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
That's how I'm gonna win. But we know how this scene.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
I have a young I have a young wide receiver,
Devonte Smith. I have a true number one wide receiver
Devonte Smith. Like if I didn't have him, I would
never entertain that conversation. Now, do I want a J Brown?
Hell yeah, but I want him to knock it off
because if we don't knock it off when we're winning,
we're four and oh and we're bitching, we're tweeting.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
And we're doing all that. We're four and O. If
we were two and two, I'm right with you. I'm
tweeting too, you understand. But we're four and oh and
I don't like that.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
You can be frustrated, but when you're four, No, you
shouldn't be showing your frustrated. That should be behind the
doors kind of ship.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Yeah. I don't need to be showing it. That's all.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
Everyone should be frustrated. We haven't looked good. We have
we looked good in the fourth quarter yet this year,
besides the Rams game, we have it a couple of them.
We haven't even I'm not sure we even were on offense.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
What do you want back for them? Swoop like it's
a football team that's going to pay.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
We can't treat You can't treat them.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
I'm not We're not.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
We're not going to No, No, I know, just hypothetically,
but you still we still can't.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
No, we can't. We're not.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
So our main goal was never to go undefeated, but
to win another Lombardi exactly.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
We could be getting.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
The biggest thing is we should be getting We're to
the point in the season where you should start seeing
us getting a little better each week, improving, and we're
not doing that currently. That's I'm not worrying about the Eagles,
but that's my biggest takeaway is that we we look
like we're not improving.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
The play calling hasn't been great, So I'm not gonna
sit here and say that it's all.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
What's funny, though, is I saw some good things today.
I thought we saw some good things today before we
choked it up, right, it felt like we got to
the line a lot sooner. All we were all talking
about that the last few few weeks. Right, we got
to the line with the play call a lot sooner.
Jay was able to do his reads. I thought some
of the things we did in passing game was really
good today. It's just to to everyone's point, we don't
(16:23):
need Jalen Hursts throwing thirty eight thirty eight times when
we're up two touchdowns for a majority of the game.
That that has not been our mL on offense ever,
especially when we're leading. You know, like if you're down, okay,
it's even when you're down though, you still want to
get sequon the ball, you know. But Tom you you
We talked about it in the group chat and off air.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Right.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
It felt like in that second half, every time we
got going offensively, there was a penalty of self inflicted penalty, right,
like something stupid on our end, not be agreed. Just
ones that either got picked up or not called. Right,
the stupid ones, the formation penalties, right, the holdings, the
not getting set as ticky tack as they had as
(17:08):
they were their self inflicted. That's on us and in
the past and in the past, we didn't create those penalties.
We didn't beat ourselves in the past. Now we're starting
to the last two games, you could say that the
last two games we were starting to and then obviously
this week led to the loss we could have lost
(17:29):
last week, Right, Baker did it again today, Baker he's
a fourth quarter comeback machine. And thankfully Red tipped that
ball and we were able to. We were able to
Joe was able to catch it. But this loss could
have been last week.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
Yeah, yeah, probably, I mean, we could have lost the
last three and we're being honest.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
Yeah, but which is a good thing. Today we found
a way to lose. Granted, And now listen, I'm not
I'm not gonna come. I'm not gonna complain about the reps.
They were a great No, Like Zach bowing, I can't
have you hitting that guy.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Was he's still reaching though he's still reaching, but.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
You got you got the possibility of getting that flag
if you hit him in the head. There. You know
that if you're Zach Bowne.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yeah, I also think I also he was that time
of the game, that time of the game that can't
be called.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
I'm gonna that's my team. If my guy gets hit.
If my guy gets hit, I'll say the same thing.
I would say the same thing if my guy got
hit that.
Speaker 6 (18:39):
I would have wanted to late hit there. If it
was against us, I'm not. I'm gonna first to tell you.
I don't say it's ticky tacky.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
But I would want not on the down in distance either.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Not when that guy looked like he was staying up
for a second, like he looked like he might escape
that and he was reaching, like I get it, it's
all really fast out should he pull it up? Yeah,
I should have tried to pull off. I don't disagree
with that. I'm saying that is a terrible call in
this situation. You want to do that ship in the
first quarter, fine, be my guest, Okay, but you weren't
calling late hits out of bounds for either team early
(19:10):
on in the game. You weren't really policing that too much.
But then you want to police it. Argue with the
biggest play of the game at.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
That moment, it was a third down. It was a
third down they to take a field goal. Everything changed
at that point, like not running on two minutes off
the clock.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Yeah, like everything could change then, and that's and that's
why we lost the game. And then they get a touchdown.
Big difference, big difference from from a field goal to
a touchdown there to a feel you know what I mean,
or maybe a block right, maybe maybe a miss the
so much can happen there.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
But again, the game's on us.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Games on us at the end of the day, because offensively,
we weren't going up in the second half. And I
mean if even if you didn't want to get Saquan
and carries, I mean aj Dillon has been running the football. Well,
he needs more carrys. I've been saying every week, like
you have a you have to run the ball more
than you did. Well, you need change of paces. In
this league, not every not everything can look the same,
(20:09):
so you need to give different looks. So he should
be getting this is a run oriented football team. He
should be getting seven to eight carries a game. Why
is getting about fifteen to seventeen early on in the year.
That's what it should do. That's exactly what it should be.
But that's exactly how it should be set up to be.
And now you're getting different looks and you're one guy
is gonna hammer you in the mouth and the other
(20:30):
guy has that opportunity to go buy it. So that's
what you have to give the looks of We did
a good job of that last year where Kenny with
Kenny who ran hard and Squan make you miss, we
did a good job of it. If you like, I'll
go back and look at the numbers right now. I
guarantee that Kenny game well was on pace for way
more carries or way more carries. And then when Aj
(20:55):
was on pace for way on that is I.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Mean, it's way more. You don't even have to look
it up. It's way more.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Yeah, one hundred sorry, one hundred and fifty attens now
seventy five attempts, but Shipley at thirty.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
So you figure, you know, it's a lot of attempts
between the two of them. Yeah, so and then and.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Granted, like, I mean, you can get hurt at any time.
I'm not saying like like, oh, you can have five
carries and get hurt. But back to back weeks where
Saquon kind of gets a little stuck in the ground
a little like you're like, oh.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Man, it's sequan, Okay.
Speaker 6 (21:32):
Yeah, I'm not saying you can get hurt at any time,
but not a bad thing to give him a little
breather and let the other guys get some carries.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
It's not a bad thing, said.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
They're running effectively right, when they're not running, then.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Carry Yeah, sorry, when he's having in five point three
yards to carry, it was that what Greg is saying.
When you're having a five point three yards to carry,
get him the football more. If he's having two point
three yards to carry, I understand it. But when you
have five point three yards to carry, give him the football.
I don't know about It's everything.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
Everything basically double of what's take on take one only
amaging three or maybe even less after the last two weeks,
might be so anymore because we didn't give him the
ball this week, but it's not high.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
So yeah, miight as well, Billy, I couldn't agree with
you more.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Bill, you can't call that there the p I on
gotter see then you then you then you want to
leave it in your pocket. So that's where I have
a problem with him, right like that. That's a total
pool down. Now you might not think the balls catchable.
I don't really care. It's definitely the biggest well, the biggest,
the biggest play in the game was the was to
pick up the intentional grounding, the biggest play of the game.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Because he's in he's in the grass. I don't like
how they didn't. Why would Why did they not mention
that though, you know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (22:43):
Like, because they didn't they come out and say intentional
grounding and then they were like, oh, they're just they're
picking the flag up.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
They didn't say anything about it.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
I read the pool report and he claimed that his official,
too official, wasn't working like the the communication system that
they have to talk between the officials. So since that's
a group like call, you know, because you need multiple
different officials. He said it wasn't working, so he called it,
and then they they buzzed down and said now pick
(23:10):
it up, and but they never announced it to like
to the point, and I actually, to be honest with you,
I didn't think it was that egregious. But again, then
you can't call the other.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Ship to that, right when you get spun around like
a top when you get around. Yes, I mean he
was ill, no matter what.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
I don't agree, but by the letter of the wall,
that necessarily isn't.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Right letter letter of the law and common sense or
two separate things.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
And refereeing and up games, and nobody's got it.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
So yeah, well I'm not yeah at the conversation for
a different shot.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Yeah, but to the point of it is like there's
some bad calls again not the reason we lost, but
we also made some big plays and that's a bad cause. Yeah, right,
Like Sakon rushed for seventy eight yards on a first
down that was setting us up and we were feeling
good and then boom.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Or illegal shift on Saquon.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
The one right, big big player if that was a
j and then I forget, but either way, then have
up the r PO.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Where they got steamed downfield on the opposite side of
the field. No impact on the plan, he's out of
the play, and again I get it, but he's hold that's.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
Like to me in an r P O world that
we live in now for that though, because he shouldn't
be downfield there, but you're it's opposite side of the field.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
But it's an r PO. He's taking run, he's not
looking back saying, oh did you third passing? Let me
go hit the second level now?
Speaker 4 (24:49):
But then, but but I just think that's I think
it's a rule is peny, But it's kind of weak
like and that's what I say.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
I think it's more of a rule issue in an
r PO world that we live in now. How are
you not giving these guys an extra yard or two,
you know what I mean, bake off of what's going on,
especially on the back side. Again, no impact on the play.
It's on the other sideline, he's thirty yards away from it.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Even what's that guy really like stopping? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:22):
But yeah, I mean you're right, not not the reason
we lost a lot of self inflicted wounds, which, like
I said, we don't usually do to ourselves, you know,
we usually don't have the self inflicted wounds like we
had today. Uh, and they just set you back big time.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Say you're back big time.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
And the other thing too, I guess, you know. As
much as I liked a lot of what the offense
looked like, especially early, I like the rhythm, I like
to flow, but we were so we were so touched
down or nothing, and we're not usually like that, you
know what I mean, Like some of those drives, we
usually at least get three out of, you know, we
should stain enough of a drive to get three out
(26:01):
of or or you know, I mean, or get points
and show up a lot more clock than we did. Today.
We didn't. I mean, there were seriesons where we did
we threw three downs and it felt like Chip Kelly
was back home place, like you know, the defense was
so gassed. I don't blame them for not being able
to get a stop so, you know at times of
the game, because they were on the field the whole time.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Yeah, the whole second half, and he had a two
touch down lead for the majority of it.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
That's embarrassing, Greg, That's the embarrassing part of today.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
I have a huge lead. You should be leaning on
them and giving your defense arrest. Instead you're you're going
three and out three and own three and now like
of course, of course they're tired. Of course, chembers starting
to get into a flow.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Well, Keith, this is what happens when you cater to
the wide receivers and you cater to the noise, when
you cater the noise instead of you making winning plays
with your legs, which you're used to. He's trying to
keep his eyes downfield, and he's trying to make a
play inside the pocket, and he's trying to make a
play on the rock.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
Well, yeah, it's like we're we're that all the everyone's
talking about how they don't like to touch Busch.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
We stopped doing it. Fuck that touch pushed all the
way down the field. I don't care. Yeah, I don't care.
Let them talk. I don't care.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
You know they're gonna remove it after this year. We
might as well fucking beat it to death.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Well, I don't know. Kyle Shanahan picked it up. It
might stay.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Now, it ain't staying. They're gonna vote it out, but
it could stay. But the wind about it so much,
you know, they're gonna vote that Jesse. The offensive line,
he says, isn't isn't as dumb as it was. No,
it's not. Well, they're getting old and they're banged up.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Yeah that did you see the short video that came out.
I mean, guys are in the locker room, Marty and
the Hyperbarrick. We're into the leg shoots getting treatment from
the game because they got the short week, Like game's
already over and they're already, you know, starting treatment for
for the upcoming week. It crazy and they need to right.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
And he said, I really feel like they're catering to
AG too much.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Not the reason we lost, but guys think that the
game plan of winning Devonte was awesome. Yeah, I mean, listen,
they need to They need to go back to what
they do twenty five to twenty eight to ten from
the quarterback, right, I'm not saying you're a run first team.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
I'm saying that you are.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
You you should be able to run the ball better
than you throw the ball because your quarterback's ability to run.
That's what I'm trying to say. They need to get
into the r PO all day. That's what they need
to get to. When you struggle running the football, and
you're struggling with reeds as a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
At times you need to get into the RPO format and.
Speaker 6 (28:36):
The open guy. Stop trying to force feed him because
he's whining. That's that's what we do to do.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Check down all those Do we know a screen? Do
we know how to run a screen? A wide receiver screen?
No running a running back one?
Speaker 5 (28:52):
Okay, just ask him for a friend.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Apparently not that.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
That that I think though, is the overarching team of
five games so far, is what is our identity offensively?
We don't know.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
We don't have one.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
We don't have one, So there's there's nothing that we
we think that we know what we are right because
we've seen this team. But Kevin Batool right now doesn't
have doesn't have an identity as a play caller, doesn't
have an identity as an offensive coordinator, doesn't have an
identity as as anything right now other than just a
placeholder with a with a score sheet, you know, or
(29:30):
a play call sheet in front of him, because yeah,
we forced that aj But he's one of the best
wide receivers in the league. Same thing with Davante. Yeah
we got Davante to the ball because they're great. But
what we didn't do is get sack on the ball
because he's equally he's.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
Great, well, even gets take on the ball in the
part of the game where you have to lead, have
to do.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
We got the question because what we know is what
we know, and what we know is that Jalen Hurts
hasn't had the same coordinator uh period for more than
one year.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
So knowing that right now, gun to your head.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Will Patool will be back next year in your mind,
knowing what you know about him not having any consistency
of back to back the same coordinator for two straight years,
to see what that kind of growth would be or
would you guys be more all on it on the
side of you know what, Nope, we gotta go get
the best, the best possible guy out there.
Speaker 6 (30:24):
Well I think he I think he'll probably be back
because I don't think he's gonna get posted by on
our team.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Yeah, obviously, that's obviously I'm not saying about that.
Speaker 6 (30:34):
If you get somebody, that means that we're going that
means that we're bowing out early, which I don't want
to happen either.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
So because getbody right now, forget playoff.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Forget anything what you've seen in you knowing that Jail
has not had the same coordinator. That's why I'm asking, right,
because like that's I think the same thing, because he
hasn't had the same coordinator for more than one year.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
That I would give that no matter what happens this.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
Year, Like I was just think that decision yet anyways,
but I would.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Just eat it, is my point. No matter how, I
would probably just eat it. I'll say, you know what,
let me see what two years together does.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
And lets we blow up.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
And when the Super Bowl again and he gets poached,
I would think, yeah, I don't think so either. That's
why I would think.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I think he would need to like go back to
one or like go to another NFC title game, and
then he would get proached.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
No, I'm in a full, full agreement, Tommy.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
I'm with you guys. He's back as of now. And
to be honest with you, yeah, I mean, I don't
don't even want to talk about, you know, anything mid
season because then that means we're not doing well, and
anything mid season is is just a complete over either
course correction or overreaction.
Speaker 4 (31:48):
Well, we're not into anything mid season.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
I think the biggest thing that is we didn't get
that you know, big turnover.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we didn't get it. And in the
last few weeks we haven't gotten a big drive that
we used to that Jayalen used to used to own, right,
especially fleet, especially second half, there's always at least one
big drive that Jalen Hurts has produced through this winning
(32:18):
streak and through the last two weeks, we have not
gotten that drive.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
Because last year, Greg like it seemed like whenever we
if a team scored nothing, looked like they were taking
the momentum from us, we would come up with a
big drive. Even if it was just to go get
three yep and kill the momentum, we would come up
with a big drive. We've we've actually been we've been
increasing their momentum by going thringing out a lot.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
I said it.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
I said it on Wednesday about last week. Right, you
get that ball seventy eight minutes left, I need at
least a field goal to push that back to a
ten point.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Gate and back in the day, same thing today, Same
thing today.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
You got the ball back, you know, up seven, still
you could have make the field goal and then that
two point conversion didn't matter.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
And last year it's over. When you got the ball
back with seven minutes left, it's over.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
And I think something it's not the case right now,
and something else we're messing.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
To interpretation that anything can happen if you can't get
if you can't close the game out.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
I think we were saying this like four weeks ago
when it was early in the season, like our biggest
thing is that we know we can close games out.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Well, right now we can't and that's not good. No,
you're right, you're right, and that's a big problem. But
I mean that's the thing we did great last year.
We would have those monster drives. We're not getting them,
not getting them. But the other side of it is
and I think something we're missing that that helps.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
I know he got hurt last year, but n Kobe
Dean in the run side of the defense is definitely
something we're missing as a run run stopping wise. At
that point, you can see us missing that. That linebacker,
he's just more physicult.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
He know he came back next week.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Yeah, he probably won't be back Thursday, but.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
They started his practice window though.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Yeah, probably, but he'll probably be back by the Minnesota game. So,
but the point my point of that is is he's
a better run stopper I think than John is.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
So I'll be interesting to see how they how they
use these too.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
But it should be a big piece to get back
because he's a big part of the run defense.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
He was just a big part of the defense in general.
Lat Year made a lot of big plays.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Yeah, yeah, Coop didn't come close to a turnover Greg
So so the Q, I mean, que Q came close
to one as well.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
I still think that was a fumble too, that coup hit.
I don't know. I agree. It's like his arm is
going forward. What's his arm going forward? I don't know.
That's like the empty hand going forward to me? Yeah,
I don't.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
I didn't see forward Ford forward to me?
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Is this? Yeah? Not not clawcking up and getting here?
Getting here is not going forward?
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Like maybe maybe maybe i'd get enough sleep last night,
but like clocking up and going to here and getting
it punched before it passes the head is not going
forward exactly.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
What once it's past your body, I can stare it
going forward. Yeah, like once it's here, No, once it's
past your head going yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
That works, But yeah, it's a picture head the same thing.
Whatever you want to say, however you want to say it.
I watched that replay like four times and I was like,
that's a fumble. And then they came back like not
a bumble. I was like, not a fumble?
Speaker 4 (35:32):
The fuck is going on?
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (35:40):
I could have swore it was. That's why I thought
I was losing my mind really that I was like
what am I like? What? How's that? Not a fumble?
And it was called a fumble on the.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Yeah that you're right that, I mean, you add that
to it. You had that much extra that you you
saw that was definitive, you know what I mean? Like
that that's usually uh you know place stands is called
because it was too close.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Usually is because they'll be like, all right, yeah, just
keep it, just keep it.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Naturally, yeah, because that's like yeah, rolling on the field
is hard to overturn on something that close.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Yeah, hard to return. Yeah. Look, yeah, I don't know
how it was. I want to stand by that. I
really don't know how it was.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
It do not know how that was not a fumble,
because again, if it was called something else on the field,
I get it, totally get it. But to me, what's
called on the field, always always matters.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Should Yep, it definitely should.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
And then I don't, I don't.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
I don't know how you'd missed that that one at
the end either, I mean that end.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Yeah, it's a two it's a two yard line.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
It's it's so bad. It's so bad.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
Pulled him down obviously, wrapped around them, and like.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
The guy behind can't see that, the guy running down
the sidelines got to be able to see that, or
the guy in the middle of the field's got to
be able to see that arm wrapped.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Total you would think total raping, tottle rape job again,
just not not keeping it a hundred in terms of
being consistent.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
And I think they're the worst. They're the worst types
of cruise, I believe, as the kids would call it now,
keeping it in a bucke.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
No cap whatever that means. Oh yeah, the consistency, is it, right, Tommy?
And like we see in baseball at the time, like,
how do you have a different game called from a
different crew, you know what I mean? Like, the game
is the game. It should be called the same. We've
seen it in all sports. Style, we see it in
(38:18):
all sports. How are you calling a different play differently
between crews. It's it's it's insane.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
I mean people, people have been saying that for a
fucking forty years.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
Though, Yeah, that band today you can pick out, you
can pick out like three games a week where you're like,
seems raked.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
That's why I stopped betting sides. That's why I stopped
betting games. And well I never win, uh but me,
it's because it's become so hard.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
It's difficult to win. It's difficult to win enough of ringo.
I guess the sweep says I thought he played, he
didn't play today. He played better than he's been playing recently.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
I felt like today, I just don't know who you
go to. But you know, so, I mean unless they
have once they make a trade. And at this rate, man,
I mean you're not the One thing you're not fine
in this time of year is offensive line help. So
you're not gonna you're not gonna find that, yeah, or
d back help. But that that's next year. Next year.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Draft one needs help. Next year's draft early on.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
Is offensive line help, no question about it.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Well, but just what the age of our guys, that's yeah, yeah,
not even like that much help.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
But you gotta get younger there. I mean, your first
two picks should probably be up front, just to just
to replenish it, right, even if one guy is a
backup for two years, he's got to replenish it.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Well, you did this year. You did take we did
take two.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
Guys late late. But I don't know. I don't know
does count for us? No, it counts, but it doesn't.
It doesn't.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
I hear you, because I know when I take a
guy with this coaching staff in the first two rounds,
those guys can't miss it. When I think guys in
this six or seven or one guy's undrafted, let's let's
keep it real. I mean, listen, I trusted to get better,
but I don't expect that. I can't expect that guy
that end up All Famer, like Jason Kelsey. Fair was
(40:14):
a late pick. But I know, but it's not it's
not fair to the player to expect that expect You
can't expect it to be Lane. You could say, yeah, yeah,
it was a high pick, and Lane's That's.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
What I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (40:23):
I know.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
Look, I know if I if I got you know,
if I was.
Speaker 6 (40:28):
Going to be a player, because he's even if they'll
take him early second, like you play.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Even if picked thirty I know with this football team
and they picked thirty and sixty right, thirty one, thirty two,
sixty two, it doesn't matter that I know that. Don't
hit those picks at the offense on offense line, I'm
gonna I'm going to be and at this rate with
Lane's age right land and getting banged up a lot,
(40:53):
just he need to you need to find it.
Speaker 5 (40:57):
You need to get younger. That's a position that you know.
See scene was a messy thing, tony.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
I don't like.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
I never really liked seeing as much as other people did.
I thought that's why I said I.
Speaker 4 (41:11):
I thought about you.
Speaker 5 (41:12):
Couldn't get out the door.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
That was my opinion. Greg knows that I was very out.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
Of I think we both said that we should like,
are oh one is so good you can't let any
of them leave? You know, we were echoing that. I
felt like last year, like they're so good, you might
as well just sign them.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Run back oop stains and all.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
And girl, good old ship stains. Sorry, no ship staatement
of that, damn it.
Speaker 6 (42:05):
But overall overall, I'm not worried. It's just there's some
concerning trends, we'll say, yeah, but I think I think.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
We're all in agreement. We all kind of saw it coming.
Rather it happened now than later in the year. And
not to to say we can't lose again, right, but
after the buy, our schedule really picks up a little bit.
We go we go obviously Thursday Giants, then on the
road Minnesota Home Giants that we're going to buy, and
(42:37):
then we come out to Green Bay Detroit, Akream Bay
Home Detroit, at Dallas Home Bears, right, and then at Chargers.
So there's those five games coming out. Are are gonna
be tricky, you know. And but again, if this team
that's who we think they are, they should be able
(42:59):
to handle that stretch. Ah, that doubt that the Chicago
game is that's the Black Friday. I think it's the
three o'clock, three o'clock Black Friday game.
Speaker 4 (43:12):
Yeah, bullshit game.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
That's a bit work time for you.
Speaker 6 (43:18):
Umble, Yeah, that's a I mean, it's the best day
to work of the year honestly, because we get it's
paid to day and then it's double time, so I
have to work, so I won't see that game at all.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
But I just don't like like, oh, we'll playing three
pm on a Friday. Fucking why who thought that's a
good idea? Player?
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Safety? Player safety?
Speaker 1 (43:43):
Yeah, safety, Bill said, question picky yees, Bill, we went
on Thursday, says he thinks we drop another one.
Speaker 5 (43:56):
I got I was going to end you that I don't.
I disagree.
Speaker 4 (43:59):
But Saints Bill, I smelled that loss of the Saints coming.
But yeah, yeah, I think.
Speaker 6 (44:06):
Listen, Bill, I like Jackson Darton all, but they don't
have they don't really have like Skottaboo's nice young rookie,
but they don't really have enough. Their biggest weapons out
for the year. Yeah, they're not very good defensively.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
I mean, we bet Bill one, we don't stink stop Bill.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Bill.
Speaker 1 (44:22):
If neighbors was playing, maybe I could wrap my head
around it, like losing one of them. But now with
no neighbors, they said no chance. With Jackson dart By
himself back there, no.
Speaker 4 (44:32):
Chance at all. And to say, we think when we
went in to Kansas City and won there, we went
to Tampa and won there.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
Tampa's the four and one team. In case anybody missed it,
they find ways.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
I'm not done with I'm not done yet. Yeah, I mean,
I'm not done yet. I got this is the Bill.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
I'm not done because Bill, not only did we go
into Tampa, right, Tampa's found ways to win all their
games in the last thirty to sixty seconds, so that's
all they know how to do is win. And we
went there into their building and and all we did
was win. So we've found ways to win games. I
don't I don't like this narrative. The Rams are damn
football yourself to Bill Millerbrook that Bill fields this way.
(45:14):
This is how Bill fields every year. This is this
is a common currens for Bill. This is Bill Middlebrook.
Speaker 4 (45:20):
These aren't These aren't Bill.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
These aren't teams that aren't like These are good football teams.
Like the teams they be are good football teams like that.
I can see if they beat shitty teams by the
skin of their teeth, they did not. They're beating good
teams by the skin of their teeth.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
Ah. I know this isn't going to be the Barkley game.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Okay, we haven't played a complete game, but we beat
teams that also didn't play complete games.
Speaker 4 (45:57):
That are good teams. I mean, I don't know, guys,
I mean, we're just now we're flipping out.
Speaker 6 (46:03):
I agree, hand we haven't played a complete game and
we're four and one, and we and we've beaten three
good teams.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Were hand loss. We don't know how to handle walls
right now.
Speaker 4 (46:11):
We haven't been we haven't had one in a while.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
We we haven't had yet. We haven't been here a minute,
and everybody forgets.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
Yeah, there's no shot now, Bill, I can promise you guys.
We beat We beat the Giants twice, so there's two
wins right there. So okay, you call FAUF Minnesota, you
know you're talking about a six and two football team going.
Speaker 3 (46:33):
To the break, going to the by right, But like
you said last week, Tommy who didn't have his two
and two after week four.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Yeah, I know I did.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
And like Buffalo was undefeated right now by the way too,
and they look they don't look good.
Speaker 6 (46:48):
Either, So I mean, like you can it's the NFL
week the week, yeah, and the fact that we've won
twenty one of our last twenty three we should be
pretty happy about.
Speaker 4 (46:58):
And they are at home as well.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
No, they didn't lose, but just the point, and I
don't think we lose in Minnesota either. But I'm just
making the point that every buy a jatsy. That's worst
case scenario in my opinion, because there's no way to
Giants be this neither game.
Speaker 5 (47:13):
They just don't. Again, if neighbors was healthy, I.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Could see them stealing one, right, I could see them
stealing one of the games with their neighbors.
Speaker 4 (47:22):
Where where's their offense coming from?
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Yeah, that's exactly where are you getting the offense from?
Speaker 6 (47:28):
They would have to run on us. That's their only opportunity,
and I don't think that's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (47:34):
I mean, teams that have run on us, you know, decently,
but it doesn't mean that they're the type of team
that's good enough to run on us. No, I agree,
And then they don't. Really. The thing is the teams
that I felt like a brand the ball pretty well
have pretty good deep threat. They don't. They don't really
have anything down the field right now.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
They don't have any threat.
Speaker 6 (47:56):
Yeah, no, I mean they throw to Wandale Robinson, who's like,
you know, gadgety, like middle of the field guy, you know,
and they've been running ball. It's Catabell and Jack and
Dart's gonna run the ball a little bit for sure.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
But that's that's pretty much all they do right now. Yeah, Tony,
I mean it's week five.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
Like, I'm right with you, guys, like we got to
clean stuff up, but like let's let's give it some
time to clean it up. Let's see if we can
clean it up. Like it has to have been a
good trend in to start the year. I get you, guys,
but it's also what we have time to clean it up.
We have like the postseason starts next week, right, we
have time to clean it up.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
That's where I at.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
Oh, your your spot on it's the right spot to be,
because that's that's what it is. We have time. It's
week five again, we go I know, Tommy, you and
I have talked about this and nause him at this point.
Go back to the Patriots run. Go back to the
beginning of the Chiefs run. Were they clicking on all
cylinders through October? No nobody that weeks nobody clicks that
(48:59):
or they all build at the end of the year.
There was Patriots yers where they're hitting their three and three.
They're five hundred through October.
Speaker 6 (49:08):
I remember when Kansas City waxed them. The first year
that Mahomes was really good, and everyone was like, this
is it. The Patriots are done and then they won
the Super.
Speaker 4 (49:15):
Bowl that year.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Yeah, Tony in twenty twenty three. Greg mentioned this earlier.
I mentioned it on Wednesday. You know we mentioned this
is that was before we won a super Bowl, right,
and we and we felt like now we feel like
we know how to win, right we got We got
to the mountaintop and won. So now knowing that, like,
(49:36):
it's not twenty twenty three, it's twenty twenty three. If
you lose that many games in a row, Like, it's
not twenty twenty three until you go on an epic
losing streak. I don't think that's what everybody understands. No,
nobody's backtoring that end. Like in twenty twenty three they
stopped winning games. Yeah, it's not twenty twenty three.
Speaker 4 (49:55):
Twenty twenty three. Reach straight up stumped the end of
the year. Yeah, no the way right.
Speaker 6 (49:58):
People are still trying to tell me we were gonna
be the Bucks in the playoffs that I was like,
we're gonna get killed.
Speaker 4 (50:02):
We stick, and we did. We stunk at that point,
but the end of twenty twenty three, we stunk.
Speaker 5 (50:09):
Yeah, and we lost what six in a row at
that point.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
Yeah, and then the Bucks fucking killed us.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
I mean, so if we're if we're, if we start
going on a losing streak like that, then I am
right with you, guys, we go loose starts into the Giants. Okay,
starting to smell at twenty twenty three. But if we
if we go beat the Giants.
Speaker 5 (50:26):
And we don't go on these losing streaks, then it
is not twenty twenty three, Tony.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
We've had inexperienced offensive coordinators our entire time here with Siriani. Yeah,
the only one that was experienced was Kelling Moore. Everybody
else is freshan.
Speaker 4 (50:46):
We were ten and out.
Speaker 6 (50:47):
But my point, he could argue that's the only time
that we won. But but yeah, I mean, look you, Brian,
it definitely takes time. It definitely takes time to gel
Like when when you when you're overturning the coaching staff,
you can't expect to be great right off the rip.
It's gonna take time. And we were four and oh
(51:07):
and and I think we've all said it. We haven't
looked great, like we we kind of smelled a loss
was coming because we haven't looked great. But We're still
we're still moving along. We're winning games. We're winning them ugly,
but we're winning. We just need to start looking better,
that's all. We haven't looked great. That's the to me,
(51:28):
that's the most like you should be improving and stuff,
and it seems like we're not.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
That's my only uh issue. But I'm not worried at all.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Really well, I mean that's the point of this always
is the teams you beat were big wins.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
Yeah, I mean, listen, we wont in Kansas City. They're
a very good team. They'll be in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (51:46):
Dallas might be in the playoffs who we beat the
first week, and Tampa Bay is definitely gonna be a
playoffs and we won in Tampa Bay.
Speaker 4 (51:52):
So what are we wear it? Like, what are we
talking about? We've beat some good teams.
Speaker 6 (51:57):
We probably have the most impressive wins on the season
of anyone and we're being honest in Casey and Tampa Bay, nobody.
Speaker 4 (52:02):
Else's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
When you're feeling yourselves out and you're winning those games,
it's even better, Like like that's that shows you how
good is football team?
Speaker 4 (52:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (52:10):
Like we're not We're not firing on all celiners and
we're still good enough to be good teams in their place.
Speaker 5 (52:15):
Yeah, and good teams and a really good team here.
Speaker 6 (52:23):
Maybe two of them because Dallas. I mean, listen, Dallas
don't play a lot of defense, but Dallas can move
in football for sure.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
I don't. I don't understand Tony's ten thing. What does
that mean?
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Everyone's just everyone's butt hurt. We haven't looked up for
four quarters.
Speaker 4 (52:56):
And we get it.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
I get it. Everyone's see four quarters five Week five.
Give me a team that's shown four quarters play. Give
me a team that shown four quarters play.
Speaker 4 (53:07):
The Lions maybe, but they've also looked good.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
They lost, but they lost. They lost week one. No,
I no, I know that I'm saying, but they've they
lost in Cleveland, so like you know what I mean?
Like right, everyone looks bad. Everyone looks bad through Week five.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
There's no reason you don't have to justify yourself with
these people. Everyone looks bad. They don't know that. They
just don't know the NFL.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
It's just like, yeah, just looking for a ship to
complain about. It's fucking annoying. And I get it. We're
all we're all viral.
Speaker 6 (53:37):
The biggest complaints should be the fact that we can't
run the ball like we could last year. That's what
we have to that's what we need to work on
because that was our identity last year. It is not
our identity now.
Speaker 4 (53:47):
And that's just a fact.
Speaker 7 (53:50):
There.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
We were a killer. We were a killer.
Speaker 6 (53:52):
When we had to leave, we would just bury you
by just leaning on you. We can't do that right now,
and it leaves us open to anything. I said, you're
open to comebacks when you can't put games away, And
that's just the fact. So that's where we are right now,
but doesn't mean we can't get better at it. But
that's where we are right now.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Completely agree, completely agree.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
No, I don't might win this game.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
I wouldn't hate it.
Speaker 4 (54:19):
I like New England. I think Drake May is good.
Took the points I took New England.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
Yeah, Tony, we actually talked about that beginning of the show.
You might have you might have joined a little late.
I think Landon definitely sits sits giants and and you
know very well could wait till the buy. But sich
(54:46):
at least giants comes back from Minnesota. Ah, but I
would if they came out today. It said, Yeah, Landon's
done till the if they put them on a little
IR stint three games, uh uh and then the bye.
That would work for me. Now there's a BIS count
(55:06):
on the ile state. The bike count is a is
a week miss for the I L or does it
have to be games?
Speaker 4 (55:13):
Well, I mean, are you talking about ir.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
Yeah, I mean he's four weeks or four games that
he could just not.
Speaker 4 (55:22):
Play for a week. You don't have to put him
on I R.
Speaker 3 (55:24):
You know what I mean? Well, right, but you just
wait to washer spot then on some guy that you're not.
Speaker 4 (55:28):
Yeah, I mean, I hear you. But unless he's gonna
be out for a while, I wouldn't put him on
I R.
Speaker 6 (55:34):
I feel like maybe if you're like we're being honest,
he probably doesn't play Thursday, I would say, yeah, plusy,
I'm okay with sin him down to get him the rest.
He's been banged up like three times already this year.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
Yeah, he's been rolled up a few times.
Speaker 4 (55:49):
Yeah that what's the Doug way to say? You never
want to see that? But yeah, I think I think
that we're gonna be fine. We're gonna win Thursday. I'm
(56:11):
not really worried. I know, Bill's worried. That doesn't surprise me.
I'm not worried. We're gonna win Thursday. We'll be fine.
I just want to see us get back to running
the ball.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
Better.
Speaker 4 (56:24):
That's really off. That's really where I'm at. Besides that,
I feel pretty good about it. Yeah, and uh, I'm
more worried. Where I'm more locked in, I would say
on the Phillies. Honestly, big game tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
Yeah, that was a tough one last night.
Speaker 4 (56:43):
Yeah, it's a tough one.
Speaker 6 (56:43):
I'm sure half the people in here, just judging by
how they're reacting to the Eagles losing in their first
game in like a year. I'm I'm assuming everyone thinks
the sky is falling for the Phillies as well.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
Tom doesn't. Wasn't good.
Speaker 4 (56:59):
We're back, No ship, it wasn't good. I'm we're better
than this team.
Speaker 6 (57:03):
We we should have beat them yesterday when they had
They threw their best, their best arms at us.
Speaker 4 (57:08):
We blew the game.
Speaker 6 (57:09):
That's on us one thousand percent. You go out, you
win a baseball game tomorrow. We're better than this team.
We win this series in five.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
Let's go. I'm I'm not out. I'm right there.
Speaker 6 (57:19):
I think we're gonna win a game tomorrow. I think
we've always played good in l A. We bring it
back home and we went it in five. That's where
I'm at.
Speaker 4 (57:28):
I'm not happy with yesterday.
Speaker 6 (57:30):
When you when you you would hope you could step
on Otani's throat when you get him on the ropes there,
we couldn't do it.
Speaker 4 (57:35):
Yeah, he was able to pitch you out of it.
Speaker 3 (57:39):
He's you had him twice.
Speaker 4 (57:42):
He's pretty good. He is.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
We had him.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
We needed we needed to know that the double.
Speaker 6 (57:47):
As soon as Kiki hit that two run double, I said,
this doesn't smell good, does it smells? It smells bad.
I knew something bad was happening. Now that's a it's
a bad loss. But I'm gonna echo again. We've been good.
You can there's a lot of people you can blame
right here. Top of the lineup didn't hit you know,
we didn't get timely hits. We we made some bad plays.
(58:09):
There was some bad managerial decisions. But YadA, YadA, yadayadyada.
There's a bunch of things to go around. Bottom line is,
we're better than this team. We we we shot, we
beat ourselves yesterday, and I think we're gonna win a
baseball game tomorrow, and I still think we're gonna win.
Speaker 1 (58:24):
This series if we If real quick, we don't win
a baseball game tomorrow, the series is over. So yes,
it's over. But if it lose tomorrow, Okay, I got
I got beach front. I got beach front in Idaho.
If you think if we lose tomorrow, this ain't over.
But fine, Yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 4 (58:41):
I hear you.
Speaker 5 (58:42):
It's not over till it's over. But that that's over.
That that that might be a wrap.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
It smells over, but it wouldn't be over yet, but
yeah it would.
Speaker 3 (58:50):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 4 (58:52):
Yeah, I mean you.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
You really are hanging the poster all the whole team
above your bed right now with the optimism coming out
of your mouth.
Speaker 4 (58:59):
Well you were only negative, Dancy. You sound like Rob Thompson.
You sound like rap. You you Robbie had to go
away tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (59:11):
You don't the game tomorrow? We always want Hey, Rob,
you want to give spoon it. I didn't realize that
you were a little baby girl. I didn't realize you
Robbie were sleeping again. Fine, oh yeah, come and go
in the room.
Speaker 4 (59:28):
You know how don't.
Speaker 7 (59:28):
Feeling the Conference on your Head, the Morning Robb Morning Wood,
n Morning War with Rob Thompson.
Speaker 4 (59:35):
They're gonna win tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (59:36):
Okay, I'm telling you, they're gonna win tomorrow. We're gonna
win the series in five. The better tomorrow happened the
series in four.
Speaker 4 (59:43):
I had him in five. They're not winning in the four,
so we might down there, but.
Speaker 6 (59:47):
I always play good in l a. We might win
in four. Listen, we're better than this team. We caught
ourselves in the foot yesterday. Yes terrible. We're still better
than this fucking team, and we're gonna get it done.
We're talking into existence. You can beat the negative, Nancy
all you want, go hide in your room. I'm talking
into existence. We're gonna win this fucking series.
Speaker 3 (01:00:08):
I love you, I love you, I do I love you.
And but last night was too tough to overlook and
not like react to, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
Like like.
Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
Agree, like yes we're still that, we're still in it
right and and yes we technically are, but we haven't
won a series when we go down to oh one
at all?
Speaker 9 (01:00:30):
Right, Uh, but you have to outside of everything else,
that single decision in that moron's head with an absolute
fresh bullpen to Ron.
Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
David Robertson back out there to start the seventh inning.
Lost it all. Whether you go Ranger there, whether you
go Strom there, whether you go Kirkering there, start the
ending with somebody fresh. We've been awful week. You saw
d Like you said earlier, wil.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
Looked very good.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Herky is fine when he starts an inning. It's not
shocking that a lot of the guys aren't good when
they have been hurt runners. I get it.
Speaker 6 (01:01:09):
I wouldn't have brought him back out there. I'm right
with you, and you saw it. You saw Dave roberts
of reasons that we lost that game. Dave Roberts moron.
Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
You need to get Kiki out there, Dave Roberts moron,
but you need to get him out there.
Speaker 6 (01:01:23):
I think I feel like he might have been he
should have been punched out on the pitch before that.
Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
But I digress. I'm not going to blame the umps.
We need to get Keki out there.
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
You need to sure.
Speaker 6 (01:01:33):
I'm with you about the Robertson thing. I wouldn't have
brought him back out, but I think that alone is
to be We need our we need our big money guys.
To have more than one hit combined. There's a lot
of there's a lot of things we need.
Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
But that alone wants the game because we're still winning
at that point. I agree with that we're still winning.
Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
It was a bad decision because Robertson was I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
He's seventy five years old. He got the out, like
out we need him to get. Yes, you had an
off day. We haven't played six to seven. You have
a fresh bet. I didn't characters go get Ton for three.
Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
Everybody's messing the point now, you guys, But everybody's missing
The point is when David Robertson hasn't done that all year,
that's egregious. When he hasn't when he hasn't thrown, sat
and thrown again, you can't do it in the postseason.
That's That's one that's egregious. That's egregious. And the fact
that Matt Strump has only inherited an entire season eight
(01:02:28):
runners eight runners inherited the entire season means he is
not comfortable in that role to begin with, So what
are you doing there? And then thirdly, who what's on?
Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
And is on?
Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
Trey Turner, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, there are the
three guys. This is on because you can't have games
like that in the postseason. You got you can't you
get that many punches between the boom the fourth hitter.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Oh yeah he was, he was just top four. That's
only the mat on base and he's not making five
hundred million dollars.
Speaker 4 (01:03:03):
Yeah, yeah, he's not making as much as that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
Oh yeah, I mean yeah, I mean, but one for
eleven with six kys is atrocious. But again, you still
were winning the game when you brought David Roberts out
in the seventh in.
Speaker 6 (01:03:17):
With all that, I mean, I think if you go
into if you if you told me before the game yesterday,
we're gonna score three on show.
Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
Hay, I'm feeling pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
We should.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
Yeah, we gotta win that game.
Speaker 6 (01:03:28):
It's a bad loss, but it's again we're shooting ourselves.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
Herbert Harper just looked like they were swinging for the
fences instead of just getting on base or like just
getting a hit. You know, it looks like they and
again it you gotta you gotta swinging and gear up
for a hundred, So I get it, you gotta be all,
but it just looks like that they were just everyone
who's flying out yesterday and and will to some of ours.
(01:03:51):
I think hesitation and being all willing up right now
is we've seen this before with this team, and we've
seen it before with this team in the postseason, right
we all hoped and believed going into it that that
we weren't, that we were gonna be different, and that
this year felt different, And then then yesterday played out
exactly as the the the fucking nightmare does in your head, right,
(01:04:19):
it's your top three, don't hit your bottom in the middle.
Are are the only guys that showed pulse in the game.
You lose, you lose to your bullpen, which just give
it up teams all year, and and that's just how
it was. So it's tough to get that out of
our heads when we see it play out, and we
just tried to hope and pray it wasn't gonna be
(01:04:39):
the piece this year, and all of a sudden it
is again.
Speaker 5 (01:04:42):
This is what I'm saying. I'm the one who told
everybody this the year to get over it.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
And the way they've been after the seventh inning and
the things they've done, and it's been consistent all year,
and I was teamed and I was Team Phillies.
Speaker 4 (01:04:55):
I was missed to ring the bell.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
Okay, what I watch in game one is exactly what
they've done in years past and why they haven't been
able to get over this home. So now to me
is I'm not gonna sit here with blind optimism and say, oh,
you know what, the Monday is gonna be different and
the rest of this series going different. Now, you're gonna
come out and prove it to me Monday, because I'm
(01:05:17):
not gonna get excited about it. I'm gonna till you
until you go get game too. I'm excited. I mean,
I'm more the more exciting.
Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
Than my nervous nervous A couple of nervous. I'm just
not going to get myself my heart broke. Nervous Nelly.
I'm fine with it. I wear my heart on my sleep.
Couple nervous Nelly. What a guy I remember taught me
when he had a sack.
Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
I remember, I remember well, I remember well when he
didn't when the Philly's didn't pay his bills.
Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
I remember, he's not paying my bill. I'm not gonna
he was the Facebook game. You're gonna go run away
and hide.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
I got here.
Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
A little girl.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
Rob Thompson, spoke spokesman period Is Rop Toms and spokesman
Roan Wilson, Ran Wilson, Rob Rob last night, Rob last Night.
Actually like there's one hundred and sixty one last Rob
back last last night, Rob Thompson, you would have thought
there's one sixty one leaft. That's how Brian Wilson sounds.
That's why you can't keep the confidence up. We're better
in this team. He's to walk in there. We're bearing
(01:06:24):
this team. We put his fucking game. We're gonna win
a fucking baseball game tomorrow. It's exactly how he should
walk this morning. He tell exactly how he should have
walked in this morning. And tellw I would have walked
in this morning. He tell you would have walked in.
Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
You know, I guess we should pack our fucking lockers.
Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
That's the managers. So you think I'm that kind of
coach and you're free you sound like it. No, I'm
not a coach in this situation. I'm a fan, a fan, okay, moron,
as a fan, not a coach. I'm just gonna get
under now if you think as a coach, I'm gonna
come in there and act like we're not gonna win
a baseball game on You don't know me well enough,
all right, you don't know me well enough when the
gear comes on?
Speaker 4 (01:07:00):
Nothing? What'd you say? It was nothing? I mean, if
you can't hear me, Oh, I didn't hear yet. That's
why I said, huh, fix your ears. I don't know
to tell you fix your mic because I didn't hear you.
I mean I heard myself. Fine, I'm sure you did.
You spoke.
Speaker 6 (01:07:18):
This is old school, by the way, if you guys
haven't been around for a long time, we do this
a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
Right next to each other, though, let's.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Try just shot back and grabbed the popcorn.
Speaker 4 (01:07:30):
It's one last night the Eagles.
Speaker 6 (01:07:32):
One night this would not I mean, listen, I was
downtrodden last night. I woke up today feeling like we're
bearing this team.
Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
I had a victory cigar I had night.
Speaker 6 (01:07:39):
I was a little upset. I was I was pounding drinks.
I've had a headache all day. It was a bad
I'm feeling good right now. I still think we're gonna
win this series. We're bearing this team. We blew a
game yesterday. We gotta go out and prove it tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:07:53):
I get all that.
Speaker 6 (01:07:54):
I gotta go prove tomorrow. I get it, But I
think we're going to That's where I'm at. I'm not
fucking always me hiding my head. Let's go get it done.
Can't wait for the game to start tomorrow, besides the
fact that I'm gonna be fucking at work, but can't
wait for the game to start.
Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
Well, I did have a hard time put my season
almos Arta, and I think that's the hardest thing for me.
Speaker 6 (01:08:16):
He's pitched well, though he's pitched better than Ranger has
in the in the last month, that's just a fact.
Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
And I'm not sure that I could trust Nola, So
I feel like you have to go to him, you
know what I mean. No, I know it's just that hard.
But this is why game game this is why that's
what Game one was very important.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
I agree.
Speaker 4 (01:08:35):
But once you lose game one, now, now, hey, it's
fucking not up. Time.
Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
We gotta go hit Blake's now your best friend send
him a d M. We gotta hit we gotta hit him.
Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
I'm not talking to that pussy. We gotta hit this guy.
Let's go. Well. I think the one.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Benefit the one benefit I will say is that Blake
moted us the last time we saw him, and he's been.
Speaker 4 (01:08:59):
Good the last month.
Speaker 6 (01:09:00):
Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna say, but he's
got the history of not being great in the playoffs,
and I don't care that he's just got the reds down.
Speaker 4 (01:09:06):
Hold the phone for a second and let me finish
what I just said. I was gonna talk over you, nervous. No,
you don't know. You don't even know what. I don't
even know what. Okay, they got me. Could you just
let me finish what I was trying to say. Blarady forgot.
(01:09:27):
That's why I'm mad at you, because, like I had it,
I can't have you doing this.
Speaker 7 (01:09:33):
I don't make a good point. The Mariners one one one,
it was gonna be. It's gonna be a point.
Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
How they can you know, how they can win this
series and and win tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
Look what did make Snell?
Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
Blake Snell mote us the last time we saw So
sometimes when I know that just happened, I have a
I feel better. That seems sort of even out in sports,
and and I feel better about that matchup going in
the monday. So I'm gonna I'm gonna hold out hope
that you know, it pays off for us now, like
we go get him because we saw him recently he
(01:10:20):
had our number. Things even out, But at the end
of the day, this is as simple as this is
the ship I'm tired of. It's the ship I'm fucking
tired of in this city. Is that they got a
three nothing lead against it, arguably freaking Babe ruth as
it from Japan. It's Babe Ruthe from Japan, and they
got a three nothing lead off of him, and the
typical Philadelphia affillies just start the anchor in the water
(01:10:43):
and they're good, and they're good, and.
Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
The bats show it and the rest of the game
he was dealing after that, he was definitely upset. You
got it.
Speaker 6 (01:10:53):
Yeah, I felt like we needed to work to count
a little more to get him out after five.
Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
But i mean, who listen, he's very good. I'm not
going to say he's not. I'm not even talking about
what three.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
At three, you look, Tower looked like Tower gas now
came in and you made him look like a cy
young for a minute. So you and guys come in
and mow you down. Forget oh Tani for for another
two or three innings. I'm talking about what came in
and your ability seventh in the role that you showed
all year, and you came out lady in ague those innings.
Speaker 4 (01:11:21):
That's my biggest question. That's I mean, that's two and
I will say too to Dave.
Speaker 6 (01:11:27):
To Dave Roberts credit, he knows that their bullpen hasn't
been great, and he said, you know what, I'm just
gonna go with my best arms and he put Glass
now n rookie out there, which he went out and
won a game. We I think Greg said early definitely
say that the that he was out managed yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
Thompson for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
Well, that's that's too soft. So when you want to
talk about me and want to be my legs, why
look at your boyfriend right who you're sleeping had the
toe with, and whytn't you call his ass out soft
and being fucking missionary and being a guy who's acting
like this one hundred and sixty games left.
Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
That's how he's managed. He did, he did. I agree
with that, but I'm saying I'm not. He shouldn't.
Speaker 6 (01:12:05):
First of all, I didn't watch the press conmerce I
was drinking afterwards. But I'm just saying he obviously to
the media he's gonna be like, listen, we still have more.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
It's not the series not over. But he should have.
Speaker 6 (01:12:18):
He should have went back in and and been lighting
people up and being like, listen, we're bearing this fucking team.
Speaker 4 (01:12:23):
We're gonna go win a games.
Speaker 5 (01:12:24):
It's how he coached it.
Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
I agree that he managed it poorly. I'm no, poorly.
It's not poorly. It's like he had so many games
to play with. This is what nobody's listening.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
No, it was poor because one word and then the
other word is words.
Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
He managed it like you have one sixty one least.
That's the that's the matter now.
Speaker 6 (01:12:47):
But I mean he hasn't done all year though, which
would make it poorly because he, like you said, he's
Trumps only had eight in HEROD runners all year.
Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
He did that. Robertson hasn't gone in and then come
back out. He did that. He's did something all year
that does it sound like you have poor job? And no, no,
you're right or poor.
Speaker 3 (01:13:07):
I'm not arguing poor.
Speaker 4 (01:13:08):
I'm saying that that's telling me that you got time
to play with that you can tinker with bullshit. Yeah,
the tinker's a good word. Think it's fucking spring training.
Tinker is a good word.
Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
It does.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Spring training isn't the time to play around with stuff,
good time to go go attack with your best.
Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
If you want to play around with Ranger, that's not
a player around. He's used to it, like you know
what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:13:31):
So if you want to go that round in different conversation,
but David Robinson and Matt Trump and and leverage situations,
you kiss my ass even though it kiss my ass,
and that's what we're going to you. You got you
think Mats back, you think Robertson's back on the Yankees. Wait,
you Topper, you're moron.
Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
And honestly, if you're not, if you're fire unders some asses.
Speaker 6 (01:13:58):
If you know you're throwing Lozardo game too, I'm not
sure why you don't throw one of the other stars,
like Ranger or whoever you trust more for that one inning,
the seventh inning. If you're trying to get the sugary on,
it should be Ranger. Or if you're like, Okay, they've
already seen a lefty all game and you want to go,
I don't care.
Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
You can.
Speaker 6 (01:14:19):
You can tell me on either one, but I wouldn't
have gone back to Robertson. That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
You can and.
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
I think Strom is fine if he starts his own inning.
It's the it's the it's the inherent runners part, right,
it's bringing a guy in right, and people when they're
sayings tipping pitches. He got bets and Otani out with
pies at second base.
Speaker 6 (01:14:43):
He just missed his spot with with Ti Oscar and
Oscar as a fucking pop up, but.
Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
He missed his st inside. He puts it outside.
Speaker 6 (01:14:52):
And that's what Oscar has done his whole career. If
you miss his spot, he's got a big he's a
big power guy.
Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
Did right, he doesn't get to him. It's he just
lets Strom open the inning.
Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
Yeah, And that's where and that's where it's, like I said,
that's where you're managing like it's it's pre season and
spring training where you're tinkering with stuff that you would
never do with relievers, like you can't mess with relievers,
Like you can't do that stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
Like like you can't do stuff. I'm a routine guy.
Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
Yeah, he lost another game for the Philadelphia Philters, and
I'm tired of him.
Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
Now, Bryce Harper part of it. Kyle Swerber, Listen, babe,
after that performance, I'm not giving you four hundred million dollars.
I'll go spend it elsewhere. How many splining misses in
swarps yesterday?
Speaker 3 (01:15:37):
It was a lot? Well yeah, yeah, he swung mister everything.
But he three ks did he have?
Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
I think he had nine swings and misses?
Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
Probably?
Speaker 4 (01:15:44):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
The only one I can give a little break to
is Tray because he missed time, right, But I can't
even give him a break because they don't play. That's
how I look at that. And if you ain't ready,
don't play. So I need these guys to hit, and
they got to start hitting Monday. And these guys are carriers.
These are the money made because of his baseball team,
and money makers like Taskarnandez have to hit right, like
(01:16:05):
Task is getting paid a lot of money. Big swing
guys who get paid a lot of money gotta have
big swings.
Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
And then your your your.
Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
Other guys like Kiki Arnandez or Harrison Bader or Max Keppl.
Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
Right now, what's the deal with Bader?
Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
Probably I would think he's out tomorrow, but I think
there's a good chance he could return into series. They said,
I think he said grade one stream of the groin stream.
Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
I thought they said hammy.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
But either way, well they first initially said hammy, and
then after the game came back.
Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
With might be better. Actually he sounded like he was
either way, but I would like I need him in
the center. I mean, groin is better than a hammy. Hammy.
Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
He sounded like hammy is like no more.
Speaker 4 (01:16:49):
He would be out for the rest of the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (01:16:51):
Yes, grade one, maybe not? Yeah, Grade one is the highest,
or is grade I think.
Speaker 1 (01:17:00):
One wouldn't be out for the playoffs, but you probably
miss a week, you know, a groin you might miss
today and.
Speaker 4 (01:17:08):
More treatment tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
You might feel good enough to play now, especially with
a grade one, right, Craig said, I mean worse.
Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
I mean he's playing.
Speaker 6 (01:17:16):
You can't have him be a detriment and he's got
to be able to move out there. But if he
can move, I need him in.
Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Center Wednesday, Wednesdays next Wednesday's a guarantee in my opinion.
I I don't know how you're not with all the
treatment and stuff, how you're not it's not feeling a
ton better. But again, he's you know, they're not. They're
not gonna play unless he's good enough to play, and
Marshall play center, and we got to go ahead, and then.
Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
Ahead of Cassidy, let's go. You've been winding time to show.
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
It, he whined, and a chance last night he tried
to pull every goddamn pitch. So, I mean, the same
old is the reason he's not playing. So his wife
and everybody else can shut their mouth on Twitter, right
when you know, when you when you get opportunities and
you try to pull everything down the line and and
everybody pounds you away like you're a moron, you know
(01:18:04):
what I mean? Like, if you don't think that people
are gonna all speed you and get lets you try
to get yourself out, you're just crazy. I never understood it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
No, I agree with you on that that's exactly how
they're gonna pitch him.
Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
A great year, I don't think, but he's that.
Speaker 5 (01:18:23):
He's had a bad He's had some bad postseasons.
Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
I would say with.
Speaker 6 (01:18:26):
Us, yeah, well he this year was his best year
for us by far. He was he was way better
in the field than he's been in the last two years,
and he won the BANG title.
Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
I mean, you can't for more.
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
Yeah, I mean he wins the batting title, would have
won hits if he wants to hurt you know what
I mean?
Speaker 6 (01:18:41):
Like, no, he had a great year. Another picky josh
U p I I'm ready to go win a baseball
game tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
I wish we could.
Speaker 6 (01:18:56):
And Leo, we need a big effort, made a big
effort from from Jesus, the Jesus.
Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
We do need, we need, we need Jesus like like offer, Yeah,
I need.
Speaker 5 (01:19:11):
I ain't hitim and throw out, but I need like Schwore, Bird,
Harper and Turner, we.
Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
Need guys to hit.
Speaker 6 (01:19:19):
Yeah, I mean tonight, I bet you see, I bet
you everyone in Seattle after yesterday they lose, you.
Speaker 4 (01:19:26):
Know, with with arguably the better picture on the mound.
Speaker 6 (01:19:29):
I think Detroit threw basically a bullpen game, yes, and
then they got they got Scoobs. Tonight they're thinking, oh
my god, we can't go down oh two going to Detroit,
and they went and they got it, found a way
to get it to get a w against Scooba tonight.
Is we gotta do the same thing tomorrow. Find you
gotta find a way tomorrow. You gotta dig deep and
find a way. That's what it comes down to.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
Well, they're they're good people. They even find a way tomorrow,
and I feel like we will.
Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
Mariners were plus money at night, and so we're to
and so to Phillies tomorrow. So to your point, both
plus money thought the same thing. You know, both must
win games, both teams can swing it. I could see
something similar tomorrow, like that same thing. Three to two,
four to two four three, probably gonna be close a series.
(01:20:15):
I would assume you would think, you would think, and
he was gonna get the big swings they did the
other night. You have a chance for mon mondo have
a big swing, right. He gets shammed up a little
bit when he first swung it look like he pimped it.
And I was like, wait, do you get that? I mean,
he definitely did not get it. So but again, game
(01:20:36):
of inches, game of centimeters. Our centimeters need to be
bigger than theirs.
Speaker 4 (01:20:43):
She said, Hey, that's what she said about your centimeter
centimeter talk blue Jay's poss money today two well fed?
Speaker 3 (01:20:53):
Yeah, and you Savage is the local kid, right kids
from p A.
Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
Yeah, yeah, he plays p Pit's great. Yeah, Well I
can't because he hadn't thrown the ton. But yeah, I
mean you're up twelve nothing. It's not like it's three
dots fit here to me.
Speaker 4 (01:21:12):
They did up seven runs after that.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
I turned it off.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
Thirteen seven final. But no, listen, gotta go gotta do
job tomorrow. Yeah, can can't go down.
Speaker 6 (01:21:25):
To Gotta go do a job tomorrow, and I'm expecting
to get done. Blue Jay's Blue Jays plus money today
was a gimme. By the way, I think, I don't
think Max Fiede's ever picked well in Toronto.
Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
I agree with Kevin Coleman. That's a big catch.
Speaker 6 (01:21:43):
Yeah, it's a real big catch. These are Bill's jerseys,
by the way, disgusting, never wear them again. Filthy, way
too way too silvery, way too shiny.
Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
What what are they wearing? Ice cream cone? Yeah, I
don't like it. That's probably why they're losing.
Speaker 1 (01:22:04):
Well, Hopefully there's no we need tomorrow night, Eddie. Hopefully
we're the big dog because listen, I don't know what
you do, and we'll have this conversation we ever if
we get there, and hopefully we don't. But if they
don't get to a certain point, you know, there's gotta
be some big conversations this offseason. You know, obviously next
the guy you're not gonna you're not gonna bring back,
(01:22:26):
you know, uh, And then you've gotta make a decision
on shore ber like, and do you want to sort
of spend that money elsewhere?
Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
Do you like?
Speaker 4 (01:22:34):
What direction do you want to go with stuff?
Speaker 1 (01:22:36):
And I think if they lose, if they lose this series,
hypothetically all hypotheticals, I think they're guys that you meant
to consider, you know, going a little bit different direction
because we weren't able to do what we wanted to
do right like you might now again, I'm not talented.
Let's see how this series goes. Let's go win a
game tomorrow, Let's go figure it the hell out, all right.
(01:22:57):
As much as as much as I don't want to
get I don't want them to break my heart again.
I'm obviously jazzed up and I want to get a
goddamn win themar But I don't feel good right now.
Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
That's my whole point. It's not that I don't think
they can.
Speaker 6 (01:23:10):
I don't think flod don't feel good, but I just
think that we're a better team.
Speaker 4 (01:23:14):
I don't think we're gonna find a way. I trust
that we're going to find a way. I hope you're right,
that's all. I hope you're right. For once we got go.
For once we got crumbs.
Speaker 5 (01:23:26):
I think I got a couple. I always got crumbs.
Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
Mine's minds.
Speaker 1 (01:23:32):
Rob Thompson, back to them, right, I mean, I mean
crumbing a he's a crumb in the month.
Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
I mean we're not. We're not.
Speaker 1 (01:23:40):
Just I got a double diper here too. He's crumbling
a month and Robbie T's crumb for strictly the reason
of greating it like we had a million games left
doing the same things and making the same mistakes he's
made a year after year. And what's the definition of
insanity doing the same thing over and over again expecting
a different result, Rob, I don't know when you're gonna learn, right,
(01:24:02):
I just don't know. Uh. And again, the way you
talked about a big presser guy, but the way you're talking,
the way you act after this baseball game sounds like
you had a ton left to play with and you
were you you you were walking around like you had
goddamn house money, like it was house money game. Are
you out of your fucking mind?
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
Rob?
Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
Really that this was a house money game.
Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
That's how you that's how I perceived your presser that
this was just all right, we're good, Like yeah, I
know we're good, but you know what I mean, I
know we're good. But you can't go give games away,
rob You can't have your fingerprints on losses.
Speaker 4 (01:24:36):
And you're not alone. But when you're the manager of a.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
Team expectations like this baseball team does you can You
cannot lose this series.
Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
I think the biggest But it's but to your point, Tommy,
because he puts his hands on it. Now all all
the victorol isn't all one, two and three, they get
a pass again because Robbie t stuck his dumbass in
that cookie jar and tried to fuck around with it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:03):
All the time, all the time.
Speaker 6 (01:25:06):
The most egregious thing he did is, and you guys
have both been echoing it, is the fact that he
he got away with he did some stuff that he
hasn't done all season, Like why why are we doing
this drang with guys on base? Why are we running
Robertson back out there for a second thing? When he
did the job that we brought him.
Speaker 3 (01:25:22):
In to do.
Speaker 6 (01:25:23):
That it's that's the biggest that's the biggest mistake that
he made in my opinion, for sure, and it costs
us the game probably.
Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
More fact, there's a lot of that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
Costs the game, but that's one of them for sure,
and depending on how they come out, might have cost
us a series, just because we know in a short
series how important Game one is.
Speaker 1 (01:25:43):
Absolutely it's not a seven gamer, and I think he
forgot seriously that I think he thought this was seven
big mac Macmars's biggest crumb is affiliates were still putting
on the light entrance for Duran when we're down five three.
Speaker 5 (01:26:00):
Crazy work to do that down runs. I actually agree.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
Yeah, at first I didn't like first, like I saw
something outreading on Twitter right afterwards, and at first I'm like,
I don't get it. But then like, as you know,
you sink in and you start to, you know, go
deeper and deeper into your feelings and depression. Last night,
Uh yeah, it was bull bull move, bull move.
Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
Same with Eagles. Crumb Part two is the stuff we
already talked about. The offense in the second half, the
one to fource to football in the second half. I
want to try to make people happy instead of waning.
Speaker 10 (01:26:34):
Football can get it can be crumbed up for sure. Yeah,
so there's my there's my crumbs. Go ahead, boys, Well
I know where Greg's going.
Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
I won't use it.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
Second, I was just gonna I was just gonna gloss
over him.
Speaker 4 (01:26:50):
But then, but I mean, James Franklin, what a.
Speaker 1 (01:26:58):
I mean?
Speaker 4 (01:26:59):
Can you not I him at this point? Greig, you
have to. I saw on the stat today that had
me laughing.
Speaker 6 (01:27:06):
But like, I don't even know the guy's name, but
the guy that's the interim coach for UCLA right now
has as many Top ten big as many Big ten
wins against the top ten opponent as James Franklin got.
Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
He's got Rick new Hosel's kid just torching our defense.
Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
That came against James Franklin. Yeah, yeah, against Dan Franklin.
It's kind of kind of amazing. Twenty five point, twenty
five point dog.
Speaker 6 (01:27:28):
After you you lost a game at home to Oregon,
your twenty five point favorite, and he a twenty five
point dog.
Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
I mean, listen, they came back and they made it
a game, but they were you were getting whipped. Yes,
you got, you came in.
Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
You made Nico actually look like a stud against.
Speaker 4 (01:27:45):
You came in and you got whipped, and that's embarrassing.
I'm not even Penn State fan. Embarrassing, embarrassing, and then
fire him for that. They're never gonna fire.
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
And then Philly's come back and ruin the night again.
I was at the bottom of the pool. Would have
weighted vest.
Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
Yeah, I mean the Phillies.
Speaker 6 (01:28:03):
You can crumb the Phillies, you can crumb a j
It's been a crummy It's been a crummy fucking Philadelphia
sports weekend just in general.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
We can crumb the whole weekend. Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:28:16):
But yeah, I mean that's where all lean James Franklin
with a dose of Phillies and a dose of a J.
Speaker 3 (01:28:21):
Brown. Yeah, And I'm so glad they run ranks right now.
Like I knew, I was hoping that they would fall
that far.
Speaker 4 (01:28:28):
And you have to, you have to.
Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
They're a worst team in the Power for. They're a
worst team in the Power for U C l A.
Speaker 4 (01:28:35):
Oh, I mean they were yeah at that point, I
mean they were winless, right, Yeah, there's no winch never
get as kicked winless. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:28:45):
Yeah, they are five people at the game.
Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
Yeah, they couldn't even do a full court storming or
a field storming. They had a field sprinkle.
Speaker 4 (01:28:55):
Sprinkles being nice shower two second spot shower.
Speaker 3 (01:29:04):
Yeah, like like the like yeah, like the like a
Florida rainstorm here going here, you're going.
Speaker 4 (01:29:11):
Just a quick shower.
Speaker 9 (01:29:16):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
Yeah, I was gonna cut, I was gonna pass. I mean,
I was gonna mention them. But yeah, I mean James Franklin,
the w n B A and and their shithole. Uh commissioner,
Now she's handling things. Wonderful season, moron. Uh. But I'm
gonna I'm gonna lump a whole bunch of people together
on one on one uh subject, and it's gonna be
(01:29:40):
the NFL. It's gonna be Dean Blandino, Michael Right, Mike Greenberg,
Adam Schefter, all the anti Tush Push guys who were
oh so silent when San Fran run ran the tush
Push and Mac Jones and they picked it up. It
wasn't an abomination at that point. But it's only in
a bomba nation when the Philadelphia Eagles run it, and
(01:30:03):
if the Saint Louis Rams would have ran it, they
probably wouldn't the game. But instead you try and actually
run the football and you don't get it. But you know,
Dean Blandino coming out, Adam Schefter, Mike Greenberg, ESPN, the
NFL just they just want to shoot on the Eagles
because they're really good at a play. And ironically Kyle
Shanahan and the forty nine ers voted against it and
(01:30:25):
then still ran it and got to play with Mac Jones.
So again, it only comes back to who's running it
and why you want to ban it, So shove that
right up your ass.
Speaker 4 (01:30:39):
Yeah, I love it. Yeah, I don't like the fact
that we haven't ran it in two weeks. Run run
it more.
Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
And I felt weird coming on, and that was gonna
be my main crumb, knowing we didn't run it today.
We didn't run it well it but yeah, we.
Speaker 4 (01:30:54):
Ran a couple of variations out of it, but we
didn't actually run it.
Speaker 6 (01:30:57):
Right listen, and I'm I'm on records that I'm pretty sure,
almost positive because of like you said, how everyone's been
whining that it's gonna be the last year of it.
So you might as well beat beat the horse, the deaths,
run the ship out of it. Ye, get them crying more.
Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
Amen, But you keep the same energy, right, You're gonna
you're gonna hate it for us, hate for everybody.
Speaker 4 (01:31:21):
They just hate it because we've been winning, because we
it's us.
Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:31:25):
I kind of like that though. I like the fact
that everyone hates us now because wheneveryone hates it means
you're really good. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:31:31):
I hope that doesn't go away because we haven't been
playing great. But yeah, it's I do agree though that. Uh,
it's weird the the the way they whind over. It's
very weird.
Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
Yes, yeah, weird.
Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
It's like and like we always say, it's a one
yard play, two yard play, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
And it's a legal play. It's it's legal, it's in
within the rules to do.
Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
But they totally just destroyed the kicking, Like the kickoffs
are atrocious. You want to talk about a play that,
you know what I mean, like a shut up and
a play that shouldn't be in the game anymore. Like
that's terrible. Gotta land in a landing zone and this
this it's weird what we pick and choose the flight
over from a league.
Speaker 4 (01:32:16):
Standpoint, Yeah, we could have all show on that one too.
I want to ship. They shipped the shipped all over
the place.
Speaker 6 (01:32:23):
Yeah, well yeah, I mean I mean Goodell is a
pile of ship. Everyone knows that he wants to talk
about player safety. Meanwhile, they got to play. Peter got
played in Brazil. He got playing fucking an't they got
playing fucking Monday.
Speaker 4 (01:32:33):
They got Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Shut the
fuck up, Cadell.
Speaker 1 (01:32:38):
Yeah, got to back a doubt because that's what we're
going But great show boys hit your quarter wells ten minutes,
eleven minutes ahead of schedule. Perfect, So we made it. Uh,
unless we made it play Thursday night, it's a dub.
Speaker 4 (01:32:54):
Write it in. Let's look better is a dub. Write
it in. And if you're go to Tom's.
Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
House, yeah, I don't show up in my house. But
Phils must win tomorrow night. It's been agreed to disagree.
That's Brian Wilson. He's a moron. That's Greg Moak. I'm
Tom An. Everybody out there, we love you, go Phils,
find the way, find the way and find a way
to hit that like subscribe and follow on your way out.
We love you, and listen, we're gonna good vibe by
(01:33:23):
next Sunday when we talk to you, everybody, we're gonna
go vibes, Phils will advance, Eagles will get back in
the win column, and we're gonna start feeling ourselves a
little more.
Speaker 4 (01:33:36):
We out hey
