a long, long journey. Sound bad, but the Philadelphia Eagles

(01:11):
are NFC East champions for the second year in a row,
the first time in twenty one years that there has
been a back to back champion in the NFC East.
The Dallas Cowboys have been eliminated with the win on
Saturday evening by the Philadelphia Eagles. And now you're going

(01:33):
up to Buffalo, so the other to play at least
one home game. Still some seeding stuff to work out.
They're probably not going to get the one seed. That's okay.
They hosted the NFC title game against those Commanders last
year as the number two seed because the one seed
Detroit Lions coughed it up. So I think it is
absolutely imperative for this team to keep trying to figure

(01:56):
things out. Yep, as we move towards the playoffs. Brings
us to our poll question, the Eagles should consider playing
their starters for only a portion of their final two
regular season games. Agree, disagree? I'll let you go, pe Y.

(02:16):
I think I just alluded big time to what my
answer to this question will be. But take it away,
mister young.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Sure, I one hundred agree, And that portion is the
Bills game, and the Bills game only like that, That
isn't I think that is an important litmus test that's
gonna kind of show you what this team looks like.
You're playing against an MVP type quarterback. You're playing against
a good team, a team that could possibly lead the

(02:44):
AFC and Super Bowl contention this year. Because there's no
there's no job, there's no basically, right now, there's not
gonna be lamar there's not gonna be a Burrow and
there's not gonna be a Patrick Mahomes. So like the
Bills are probably gonna be the team out out of
the AFC. So like how you look against them, it's
gonna tell you a few things. But also it's another

(03:05):
week to get this offense cooking, and the last few
weeks the offenses look it's look different, it's looked a
little bit more creative. You're trying a few a few
things that you haven't seen previously. I'm not gonna go
out there and say all the shuttle passes and the
and the red zone, they're like Scott Loffler's inspiration. Like

(03:27):
I'm sure he's played more role lately, but like you've
gotten to see some cool, good looks out of empty
which I really am excited about. You've gone back to
going under center, which is great. Like if you look
at the offense the last three weeks, they've averaged almost
they've accumulated almost six hundred yards rushing, which is fantastic.

(03:51):
You probably would have had even more for Saquon in
the radios game, if he doesn't get sat down because
of how bad they were killing him. He looked really good.
On Saturday. You could see like he was fighting a
little bit extra on some of these things, so the
defense is still looking good. Jordan Davis was phenomenal against

(04:11):
the Commanders. Like, I think the Bills game is a
very important game because obviously you're still trying to get
the two seed. I think it's most likely out of
reach unless the Bears like completely crap the bed. So
like I'm seeing people say like, oh, you don't really
need to play your starters against the Bills, which I
think is stupid because, like I'm in, I am in

(04:35):
the mindset that after the Bills game, I'm not playing
my starters against Washington because there are they're already acting
like they're trying to get revenge over something as stupid
as going for two instead of one.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, I disagree, I was complete Bush.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
No, I disagree.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, they don't.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
They don't like you. No. No, I'm of the Miami
the you mindset that as long as the game is
playing score, I don't care if you don't like it,
stop them.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
What's the point of putting a two point play on
tape right there?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Because you don't at that game, you didn't trust your
kicker and you just figure, let's go for two. What
happens happening?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Game was over?

Speaker 2 (05:20):
But who cares if you don't like it? I used
to I'll say the same thing I used to say
about when people didn't like when Cam Newton would you
always like show bing and all that stuff. You don't
like it, stop it. You don't like the Eagles going
for two? Make them pay? You did it? They score?
Like who cares?

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Time and a place for bravado and swag and that
wasn't screw that.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Like the commanders have been sniffing themselves all year. They're like, oh,
you know we got j jils work, top five quarterback,
we got hot new team. You know what, you got
smacked around? You got brought back to reality. Dan Quinn
is is the coach we all know he is. He
can't he'll never win the big one. And you know

(06:02):
him have the little tamper tantrum is is hilarious and
in true dan quinn fashion. And in two weeks, you
know you could do your best to beat the Eagles.
Backups like have on with Tanna Rickey and Darius Cooper
and Will Shipley and all the other like rookies or
undrafted guys we're gonna throw out there. Enjoy that. Like,

(06:22):
I'm not throwing anyone of importance in that game. If
I win against the Commanders, fantastic. If I don't, I
could care less because it's an insignificant game. The game
I'm focused on is the Bills game because it's a
litmus test and it's another week for me to get ready.
And then with the Commanders game, we win, great, If not,
who cares. That's just gonna be a game for me

(06:44):
to see what my young guys have and the rest
of my starters.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
I'll revisit if they should put guys in against the
Commanders later on. Let's talk about the Bills, and they
should absolutely one thousand, try and win, play to win
against the Bills. Now does that mean that I'm playing
Jalen Carter against the Bills. I'm not Johnson against the Bills.

(07:11):
I'm not. But everyone else is all systems going. Kobe
Dean got dinged up. You know he can see. I mean,
we'll see. I didn't see any injury reports that I
was at work. He hopefully is.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
DA talking about it. He's like he's just banged up
a little bit and he just wanted to be careful.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
All right, fine, I mean I hope he's I hope
he's fine. He's been playing fantastic. The better the Kobe
Dean in there instead of jahat camb when I know
they picture hot Campbell in.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
The first round, but John and they brought them back in.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
He's fine. But I wasn't overly impressed with the win
on Saturday. So what the offense is fixed the defense?
The offense is fixed because of two games against the
Commanders and the Raiders. I'm not buying that. And I
watched Theirsday Night Football last week and the Eagles ain't that.
Not even in the same stratosphere as that. Now, you

(08:08):
can on your way to getting there by going up
to Buffalo and kicking their ass, and by kicking their ass,
so you've got to go in there. For me to
take this team seriously as a repeat title contender, you
have to go into Buffalo kick their ass by double digits.
I disagree they're not. I wouldn't favor us against the

(08:29):
Bears either.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I think if you play a good competitive game against
the Bills and you continue to show the offensive scheming
and creativity that we've show in the last few weeks
and you continue running the ball, well, I think it
shows a lot of what you can look forward to
in the playoffs. You don't have to be anything crazy.

(08:54):
I just need a consistent run game and my quarterback
to not turn over the ball. That's it. If I
do those two things with my stellar defense, I have
high hopes for the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
We just I mean, I don't know. I don't know
what the playoffs are gonna bring, but I can be
I can be confident and put my stand and approval
on this team as a legitimate repeat contender. If you
beat the Bills by double digits, if you lose the
Buffalo like whatever, that's fine. They're a good team. It's
on the road, it's probably be snowing and windy and
so whatnot up there in Buffalo. That's fine. But if

(09:30):
you lose no way shape, in no way, shape or form.
Right now, Phy, do I think this football team can
beat the Bears, the Rams or the Seahawks. Not happening.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
So I actually think they can beat the Rams and
the Seahawks. I think, I think, I think the Bears
are the biggest wildcard right now, because you don't know
what exactly Bears team you're going to get if they
continue being this smartly coached, creative offense. I think they're
a team that could make it to this super Bowl.

(10:00):
Like I think Caleb Williams is playing at that elite
level right now. Ben Johnson is coaching like a top
three coach in football right now. And that's that's what
you're getting out of that team. Like the Rams are
a very good team, but we've also we've consistently beat
the Rams, and the Seahawks are good. But Sam Darlald

(10:21):
will still Stann Darnald until he shows you otherwise, like
event every year he turns back into a pumpkin come January.
So okay, so I'll throw that. I'll throw this scenario
out so you're having a.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Way better than Jalen Hurts. I'll tell you that. Okay, Okay,
So what what what do you want to throw out there?

Speaker 2 (10:43):
So this is this scenario. So you're saying that if
they have to beat the Bills by a lot to
show you anything, if they throw up forty points or
something crazy like that and you lose on like a
field goal, like that doesn't show you anything.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
No, it would show me that our kicker stinks and
he should be unemployed for Christmas.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
But he makes every kick, right, he makes every kick.
He still dropped forty and they they win on like
a last second field goal. Like that doesn't show you
that the offense is continuing.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
If I see this team score forty points and lose,
I will reassess my opinion. But I don't think that's
feasible right now. I see no possible way that that
could happen. Forty points and they lose. This defense is
too good for that number one. And I don't think
this offense is capable of forts. I don't. I don't

(11:39):
think this offense is just all of a sudden fine
because if they just dropped.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Thirty they dropped thirty four a few weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
I understand it was the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
But they still had to put the points on the ball.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Now, I'm sorry, but it doesn't count. It doesn't count
the NFL team. It counts barely.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
It counts. You play in the NFL. Anything can happen and.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
That don't count. Sorry, it doesn't agree. And Saturday barely counted.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yes, it did stop. I understand. You have to play
who's on your schedule just because you're playing bad teams.
It doesn't mean it doesn't.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Count, okay, But like this team is so behind the
eight ball because of how bad they've been at times
in this season. I don't trust them. I don't trust
this offense.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
I understand that, Like I truly understand that. Like they
haven't shown us consistency throughout the year. Whether they have
another good offensive performance and Barkley has another like one
hundred plus yard rushing attack, and you know the old
line looks better and Jalen doesn't turn the ball over,
I'm gonna feel really confident heading into the playoffs. Obviously,

(12:52):
he throws three picks and like we we rush for
sixty five yards. That's that's not a good sign.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
If that happens on Sunday in Buffalo, I will reassess
how I feel about this football team. I don't see
it happening. I don't I don't trust them. I don't
trust that the quarterback can be consistent for four quarters
based on what I've seen through sixteen weeks. I don't
trust the offensive coaching. I don't trust Nick Sirianni. Like
I have no expectations for this team in the playoffs.

(13:22):
I hope they win I'm a fan, but it's been
so bad for so long, and all the financial resources
of this team is tied up in the offense. Ye,
and it's it's pulling teeth to get them to play
for get first downs against anyone besides the Commanders and
the stinky Raiders. So now now you want me to

(13:43):
commit because of these two games, I'm not and beat
a team like the Bills on the road, I'm not
buying it.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Sorry, you've had quality wins this year. Obviously, they've gone
on a bad stretch of games. That's a factual statement.
Like I'm not I'm not disputing that, but like, this
is a team that has shown you that in the playoffs,
like they can win big games. This is a big
game quarterback, the game on the line, you can trust him,

(14:13):
Like I understand, it's been inconsistent at times this year,
it hasn't been perfect, but in these in the five
years this tandem of quarterback and head coach have been together,
Like they've brought you to the Promised Land. They've been
to the super Bowl twice, they've won a super Bowl. Like,
it's not always perfect, it doesn't always look like we

(14:33):
think it should at times, but they've delivered, and they've
shown you that they can bring it home.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
What you and many other fans are telling me is
I should just believe in this. No, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Saying nostalgia, and it's not nostalgia. It's a track record you.
It's not any job that you do consistent. They will
trust you based on what you've done previously. At your job.
You're a postman, correct your ups.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Held together by caff beine and.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Right now, of course your boss trust you on a
consistent basis based on what you have done in the past.
If you have like a week or something where you're
a little less of what you have been, they're gonna
chalk that up to all right, you know what he's
going through a bad stretch. Rob has given me five
years of good, honest, hard work, and I'm gonna have

(15:34):
faith in him as my employee because of what he
shown me. That's exactly this. Like it may it may
be inconsistent, and maybe this and maybe that, but they've
shown you in the past with a large body of
work that not many other teams other than the chiefs
right now, have put together that can earn that trust.

(15:55):
They need to continue to earn it in the now,
and I understand that. But come playoff time, there's very
few combinations on quarterbacks head coaches that I can trust
in the playoffs. Then Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
I respect your analogy, I get it, but like to
compare a car salesman or a ups person to professional
sports is like I don't like when people do that.
It's different. It's not the same.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
It is different, But whatnot it is? I just said
it was different. Okay, what you have done lately is important,
but what you've done as a whole is also important.
If all you've done is shit the bed, no matter
what you do, I can't. I have a hard time
trusting you. But if you've consistently shown me over this

(16:45):
period of time that there are reasons why I should
have my faith in you, even if I'm not fully
bought back in, there is enough level of trust there
and what I've seen from this tandem to at least
believe a little bit. Maybe I mean not, I'm not.
Maybe I'm not all the way in the deep end,
but I'm I'm in it enough. You don't understand what

(17:06):
I mean. Like, what is sad to have any trust like.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Like if you want to, because I've watched I watched
the games. He's playing better than Jalen Hurts as a
whole this three.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Let's see what he does in the playoffs. Because I
heard all of that last year. It's oh my god, man,
Darna looks so good. I think he's finally putting it together,
and then come playoff time, he choked.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Look. I think the Eagles say every year, oh.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
My god, this is this even your Dack is finally
gonna put it together.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
The Eagles are talented enough and capable enough to beat
any one of these teams in the a f C,
NFC home, away, neutral They are capable of doing it.
It doesn't mean I think that they will or are.
I'm not there yet because of two games against bottom.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
I'm not saying I think a good showing from Buffalo
can put you in the right spot. It can put
you because the difference between this year and twenty three
is all about confidence. Every week was like a slow
death where the defense was atrocious, the offense couldn't get
anything going, and the vibes are just awful. Even during

(18:25):
this bad stretch of football we've had, the vibes have
never gone away, Like the confidence in this team has
never really gone away, and I think that's a major factor.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
I'm sitting here trying to tell you I'm not that
confident in this team.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
It's okay, that's all right, Like, let's see what they
look like against the Bills. I think a good performance
against the Bills. I don't need a W. I would
like a W because I like to beat the Bills.
I think a good offensive showing and a continuous continuation
of what we've been doing the last three weeks will

(19:02):
make me feel more confident in this team and their
chances come playoff time.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
So it seems like, let us know what you think
about the pole question, rest versus rust. Another aspect of
this pole question is you need to earn rest in
this league. Eagles haven't earned rest. They're not playing well
enough to take two weeks off and go into the
playoffs and play a team like the Niners, who are
the Bears or someone like that and put together for

(19:30):
sixty minutes of solid playoff football and come out with
at W like that. That's that's nonsense.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Even if they were playing elite football right now, I
still want to rest on for two weeks. I don't care.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
It's still too long in my opinion. I agree with you,
But like I said, that doesn't mean I'm trotting Jalen
Carter out there some baby.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I wouldn't put him out there, and I wouldn't put
playing out there. I would I would save them for
the playoffs. Let's go some comments.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
We have Little Griffith seventy one to twenty six. I'm
a big fan of the Eagles season. Better Eagles, better
kick Buffalo's. But I would like.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
To kick the Buffalo. But my buddy uh is currently
in Buffalo right now.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
That's a good one to go to. I wish it
was in a September game and not a December game. Yes,
I do not want to sit out there in the
in the freezing cold and pay my money. Nope, to
sit in what potentially could be a very nasty inclement
weather game. You never know in Buffalo. The line for

(20:39):
the game Eagles Bills. The line for the game, the
Eagles are two and a half point underdogs.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
That's I think that's a pretty good good sign of the.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Eagle line, is what I'll tell you based on because
you're a three point didn't watch if I didn't watch
the Eagles for one second and I just looked at
the box score.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You're a three.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
I'm hammering the Eagles based.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Exactly you should. You should be a three point home
favorite every home game for the most part, and if
you're only if you're two and a half, that there's
some trepidation there. Awn's a little banged up. You know
that if you're able to stop James Cook. I I
feel very confident in their ability to beat the Bills.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
I mean, I don't think the Bills are like this
unreachable star that you can't go in there and kick
their ass by double dish.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I'm not I'm not saying you can't. I'm saying I
don't need that. I need a good offensive showing like
whether that's a win or loss, it doesn't matter me.
I just need more consistency. Continue showing me what I've
been seeing lately. I mean, they're kind of average outside
of outside of Josh Allen, who's the best player on

(22:03):
the planet. He was on a heater before they survived
their trap game last week yesterday against the Cleveland Browns.
But they can go in there if they play up
to their capabilities.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
But like how long am I supposed to wait for
this team to play up to their capabilities? I just
is this team capable of? Is that is this? Is
this version of these superstar offensive players? Is this the
best they got because of injured Maybe people are injured

(22:37):
that we don't even know about, Like the offensive coaching
has been abysmal. Yes, And I didn't think it was
that great on Saturday night, to be honest with you.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
I thought, as the game went on and got better,
I don't think they started off great.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
You mean have to. I mean when the Commanders realized
they were the Commanders and forty five year old Josh
Johnson came in the game, and.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
But you still have you still had to put it
together offensively, thought I thought, offensively, Yeah, that's their identity.
That's what they need to be. You need to be
a consistent rushing team. That's what everyone wants their identity be.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
But it is there.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
It's their identity. But I understand that, But it's it
is their identity because they've been trying it all season long,
and it's looking like they're finally getting it going because
the team as a whole is rushing. No Sekon is
looking better Jay one is running effectively, like like even

(23:46):
Tank Bigsby has looked good like this is you can
continually improve in the running game and just be a
consistent run game running team. I think you have a
chance to go far in the playoffs. I'm not saying
that they're gonna repeat a Super Bowl champions, but you
have an elite defense. You have a defense that right

(24:07):
now is getting lots of pressure, which is fantastic. You
have Brandon Graham that's somehow turning the clock back, Jordan
Davis and you could be Deither playing an all pro level,
and Quinna Mitchell and Cooper Degene they're playing balls out
right now. Like if you have if your defense does
what it's been doing, as long as you get a

(24:31):
solid run game, not saying it has to be like
three hundred yards a game or anything crazy, you can
win games. You can go far in the playoffs with
this with this identity.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
All right, we gotta talk about the kicker, because the
Eagles have a kicking problem. They do could it could
rear its ugly head. I mean, this guy's the worst
kicker in the league statistically since the twenty twenty four
seasons started. He was seventy one percent. Last year, he
was seventy seven. He's seventy seven percent this year. That's
not good enough. They missed the same kick three times

(25:09):
on Saturday. So what I'll say on that is.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Like, if he's missing them badly, you can look at
it and be like, all right, cool, Jake just sucks
right now. It could be because you missed all of
those kicks, like relatively, they're all looking pretty similar, Like
it could be just the hold was it right, you know,
and and things like that. He also has been switching

(25:36):
back holders all year, like so maybe it's you're trying
to get comfortable again with your guy and things like that. Like,
obviously Jake needs to kick better like that, that's a
fact I expect more from him. I expect come playoff time,
he's gonna get it right. But because they're they're not,
they're not getting rid of them, like this is your

(25:57):
this Jake, Elle is your kicker right now. They're they're
not swapping him out two weeks before the playoffs. That's
just just not They're they're not gonna they're not gonna
do it. Who who who out? Who's out there right
now that you trust to bring it.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
I don't I don't know. This guy's not good enough
though right now.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Maybe you maybe you bring someone in as like competition
and someone like rile him up a little bit and
get in a better headspace. But they're just not.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
The only reason he doesn't he has a job now
is because he made a couple of kicks in that
Rams game in the snow. It's good for him. I'm
glad he made him.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
But he was neither nine in the playoffs last year.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
That's good, that's great, that's great again nostalgia. You didn't
need to expect he's gonna turn it around because he
made nine for nine in the playoffs last year. I
don't trust this guy to kick an extra point right now, Okay,
Which is why the which is why the head coach
had has to go for two because of his stupid
little chart and a kicker that stinks and just pull

(26:59):
put a two point play on film before the playoffs
when you clearly didn't have to.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
He's gotta play better, He's got he's gotta figure it out.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
But I understand, but you have two offensive lines. Gotta
play better. Saquon's gotta play better. Jaalen gotta play better.
Nick's got to coach better. Sick of hearing it. I'm
sick of hearing it. They need to rally the troops
on Sunday afternoon in Buffalo and kick someone's ass. Not
the Raiders ass, not the commander's ass, a legitimate playoff team,

(27:34):
best player on the planet, Buffalo Bills, teams ass, you call.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
You do that.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
We'll come on here Monday, and then we can really
talk about the playoffs, and I just I can repeat
as champions or not.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
I think if they give you a good offensive showing,
I'm gonna feel really confident, and you should feel confident. Look,
if they score fourteen points and against the Bills, that's
unacceptable and that's a bad luck going forward, and you
want to rip on Monday, I'm not gonna. I'm not
gonna fall you for it, because I think you'd be justified.
But they throw up thirty plus points and they lose,

(28:11):
you know, I feel like that's another step in the
right direction.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
I don't because if they do, if this offense scores
thirty points and they lose, that I'm coming on here
and I'm like, Okay, what happened? Defense?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
I don't know. Maybe maybe there's a mist assignment, maybe
defense blows a play or something like that. Maybe Josh
Allen just does Josh Allen things that happens. That's what
he does on a regular basis. We've watched him do
it two years ago when when we were playing him,
like every other play it was Josh Allen doing ridiculous

(28:52):
Josh Allen things like he walks on freaking water, like
if he does a superman like play that like you
just can't stop him just because he's playing out of
his mind. It is what it is, and you'll lose
on the last second field goal. It sucks, but you've
done enough to show that, like you're continually getting better

(29:15):
over these last few weeks by get you underperform.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
I find it hard to believe him coming on here
next Monday after a loss and feeling good about things
going into the playoffs. Maybe I'll be proven wrong. We'll see,
but I find it hard to believe it's called losing
when you almost win and they need to show me
something against a good team, a loss isn't acceptable on
Sunday if you want to repeat his super Bowl champis

(29:43):
so if they.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Win, if they win, if they win on Saturday by
a last second field goal by Jake Elliott. Do you
feel better.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
You mean against Washington the game that just happened.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
No, No, I mean on their playing again on Saturday,
aren't they.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
No, I think that's Sunday. No, I'm not okay.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
So if they win like twenty four to twenty one
Sunday Sunday, I thought I heard somebody say it was
Saturday again, but whatever, So Jalen drives them down the
field three seconds left, thirty yard line, Jake kicks a
like a thirty something yard or whatever, and they win

(30:30):
the game and walk off fashion. Do you do you
feel good moving forward? Or is it just not enoughing?

Speaker 1 (30:37):
I feel good. A win's a win, and that's.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Say you need like a double digit victory. I'm not
of that mindset.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
If you if you should about beating the Seahawks or
the Rams, Yes, it'll be great if they win the
game in that fashion. I am a fan, so that
would be cool. But a win it because I don't
Buffalo is that good? I really don't. I mean, it's
it's a win on the road against a real a
real team like the Raiders at the Fugazi win the

(31:09):
Commanders at the Fugazi win. I don't want to hear
everything's fixed based on those two wins. That's that's nonsense
to me. I'm not.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
It's a step in the right direction. In my opinion.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Win in that fashion would not move the needle in
terms of them being as good as the Bears, Rams,
or Seahawks. No, for me to feel good about them
beating the Rams, the Bears, or the Seahawks, you gotta
go up there and kick their ass.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
The best team doesn't always win at the playoffs. The
best the team that wins is sometimes the team that
gets going at the right moment.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
But I'd rather okay then the time.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
I know. That's what I'm saying. Were the Giants for
four months with this team?

Speaker 1 (32:00):
The times right now?

Speaker 3 (32:02):
Oh god, the time is now.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
I hear you. I heard you the first three times.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
I can't do it like it's it's odd to every
week every week with this team. I don't anyway, What
else do you want to talk about on the show?
Defense is sick. I know the defense could shut down
any team in the NFL. I have supreme Comfitly, where's
my Jodan Davis extension?

Speaker 2 (32:42):
That's what I want to know I was gonna do.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
I want it.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
I want I want it in the off season because
I knew I could tell he was gonna blow up.
I thought I thought he was gonna have his best year.
I don't know if he was.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
His agent's not gonna his agent's not gonna go for that.
Agent's gonna make him better himself. And now he's got
made himself a lot more money. Whether it's from the
Eagles or someone else, I don't know. I don't know
about Jordans I do Is he playing good because they're

(33:18):
dangling that carrot in front of him, or is he
playing good because he's actually good.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
I think he's always been good. I think he's just
finally got himself right. Like I think I think he's
put in the work. I think he has the right mindset.
Like it isn't like, oh, you know, he's been good
for a few weeks, Like he's been good all year,
Like he's lost all that way, he's a peloton machine.

(33:43):
Like these are things he's really put into his desire
to want to be better. And like when you consistently
put in the work and you're you're of the right mindset,
you know that's good. To see, and the proof has
been in the pudding all year.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
He's having a great season. I would imagine he's gonna
make the Pro Bowl.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
He should make All Pro like that, that's how that's
how good he's playing.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
I would have to look at the landscape of the
NFL before I made a statement like that, which I
haven't done at the defensive apple position. But he's had
a very good season. These block kicks, he scored touchdowns,
he's had pressures, he's been an absolute disruptive force up
the middle. I'm proud that he figured it out and
preferably got himself in shape. I think, first and foremost,

(34:34):
because he's an animal. All these Georgia boys, they're.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
They're animals, God bless them.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
And honestly, like the Jalen Carter shoulder surgery, maybe that's
why he had. He's been subpar this year. No, I
think double shoulder surgery. So keep him out as long
as you can.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I think how much he had to play last season,
along with the injuries he's faced a few of them
this season, have played a big part in his his
lesson season in my opinion, and the Kobe Dean he
left the game on Saturday. Everyone seems to think he's
gonna be fine. I hope he's fine. He's been like

(35:14):
he's been phenomenal, Like even as good as people thought
he could have come back at nobody thought he could
be playing at this level. Like he's playing at a
better level than last year in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
And the defense was good when he was on the
ir the defense took a big jump forward when he
came back.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
And Brandon Graham being a defensive linement right now, Like,
he's playing great in what they're asking him to do.
And I like what they're using his role for. They're
not like forcing him to play more than he needs.
They're using him in specific situations and things like that,

(35:57):
and they're basically they're playing him out of position, but
it's a it's a position that's working for him.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
He's he's given me more than I expected.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Yes, nobody expected that.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
I mean some people did, because people like him, and.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
I love Brandon Graham, But like I you're you're lying
if you if you truly thought he was gonna come
back and have like three sacks immediately.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
I know, I was at the I was at the
Lions game with my dad and they announced he was
the last guy. He was the last guy out the tunnel,
announced as a starter. I'm like, what what that's what
I thought. He was just coming back for pr and
to be a mascot. But he still got there's still
something in that tank. It's fun to watch Brandon Brandon
Graham well without though, I think it'll be interesting. I mean,

(36:50):
I guess there's no way to get Campbell, Bawn, and
Dean on the field at the same time right now,
unless unfortunately not so.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
I guess unless you're you're rushing Na Kobe and maybe
maybe you're having a Campbell in there as as your
linebacker too, next to Bond, that's a possibility.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
I would be doing that.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
And clear and obvious passing positions like it, like like
it's third and twelve, Like we know they're not running
the ball. It's clearly going to be a passing down.
I don't really like Na Kobe in the clear and
obvious passing positions just because he's limited there, Like we
all know that that's Campbell is a is a much better.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Pass He's a coverage guy.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
He's a coverage guy, like it's an and he's fast.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
Yep, I mean he could he could have a big
role on someday because I think he's better suited to
do that than Nakobe Dean. Oh.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Without question, the special teams haven't been great, No, I
will say Covey has been a bright spot, like when
they've allowed him to do what he does best, Like

(38:18):
he's given you more than any other guy has this season,
because you can hit him as much as you want.
He's not fumbling like he's just he's a crash test.
He's a crash test dummy, and he'll take that hit
every time, and he'll average between thirty to forty yards

(38:39):
every time.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Like I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
I don't know why he's not out there for that's
a great question. I also don't know why he hasn't
been there the entire time.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
I mean Will Shipley.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
I mean it's not even just Will Shipley, Like, who
is that loser from San Francisco?

Speaker 1 (38:54):
We had, we had the uh well, Tank Bigsby and
aj Dillon. Neither of them could catch the kickoffs. Will
Shipley fumbled the kickoffs on Saturday. I'm pretty sure he's
bumbled before too. In that rule the guy from sanf
it's been a I don't understand how these guys came

(39:16):
like they literally can't run to try and tackle you
until you catch the ball. With the new rules, and
our guys can't even catch the ball. I've never seen
anything like. You know, I watch a lot of football,
and I haven't seen Xavier Gibson. That's who it was,
so forgives on the Jets. He was on the Jets

(39:39):
and they cut him because he couldn't hang on to
the ball. Yeah, he's the idiot that caught the ball
in the on the two yard line in Dallas and
I wanted to put my foot through the TV. So
I mean Michael Play I think his name is the
special teams coordinator. I guess he can't coach that any

(40:00):
other aspect of the special teams because he's got to
pray that Jake Elliott kicks the ball through the through
the uprights, which has been an adventure over the past
two seasons. I can't statistically the worst kicker in the
league since the start of the twenty twenty four season

(40:23):
still has a job somehow, though, because.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Because he's he delivered in the clutch. That's a that's
a that was a big part of keeping him in
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Well, if they lose because they don't have a capable
kicker because of nostalgia, that's it. Cut it. I'm cutting
his foot off.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
They probably will, they'll probably get rid of up and
move on to someone else.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
But it's too late then, is my point.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
But you don't know that until he shows you. It's
too late.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Like, well, if we were he's doing a pretty good job.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
I understand that. I don't think he was stellar last season,
but when you went into the playoffs, you could start
to rely on him again. If you go into the
playoffs and he kicks a game winner or a few
or a few game winners for you, you're gonna he's
gonna rebuild some of that trust he's had. Like I'm
not saying it's going to happen, but if he if
he goes like five or five in the playoffs, you

(41:19):
know that's that's a good sign.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
I mean, like hete does his job in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Yes, yes, Consistency is key here.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
I mean, I'm all for him. Anytime he wants to
step up and start doing his job, I'm all for it.
He hasn't done it, He hasn't really done it the
past two years, so I don't know why. I mean,
he did it last year. He made a couple of
kicks in the playoffs. Nine, they better do it again

(41:51):
because they're gonna This offense needs every single point.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
I don't disagree. You'll you'll get no no different. They're
errating opinions for me when it comes to points, like
especially against a team like Buffalo. But even if they're
not playing the race like there, they still have a
stud quarterback who could hurt you, and you're gonna need
every point possible if you're looking to beat them.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
All Right, it's early for game picks, but let's do
it anyway, because why not? Sure sounds good the line.
The line indicates to me that I like the Eagles
based on the line. Based on the line, So you're
getting two and a half, like I'm looking at like
a twenty four to twenty one game.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Yeah, I was just about to say that because I
already suggested that score earlier. So I'll go with that
Eagles twenty.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Four to twenty one. I think they're gonna win the
game as long as Josh Allen doesn't go nut. I
don't think I'm gonna get my wish of an absolute
ass kicking of the Buffalo Bills. I don't think I'm
gonna get that. Yeah, I do feel somewhat confident that
the Eagles are gonna win the game. And you can

(43:06):
maybe count on one hand the amount of amount of
times I've been supremely confident over the past five years
that this team was gonna win. Many of them were
last year in the playoffs because we had, say Claub Barkley.
I think the last time I was supremely confident that
the Eagles were gonna win, no doubt about it, was

(43:27):
the NFC Championship game last year. Ye the Commanders. They
weren't they were no doubt, they weren't gonna they weren't
gonna come in there. They blew their load against Detroit
and they weren't gonna win. So I feel decently confident
about this game, and I think that I don't know,

(43:51):
I don't really expect the offense to do much more
than what it's shown. They're gonna put it together through
drive a few drives. They're gonna bum bumble along a
few drives, and it's gonna be a defensive game and
hopefully they.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Can Yeah, can they run the football? And just not
turn the ball over. I'll feel really good about that,
especially doing it against a good team. You get the
W and then if you feel good heading into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
I mean, run game is essential in this game because
the best, the best defense for Josh Allen is to
have his ass sitting right on the sidelines.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Oh of course if you can hit him as much
as you can, like you're you're you're doing yourself as.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
Service, all right. Closing thoughts before we get out of here,
dominating Buffalo, Please give me, give us something to sink
our teeth into.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
Before please, please, God, Please, And I.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Will reassess my opinion on whether they should play starters
against the Commanders in the final week based on what
happens in Buffalo and what happens around the NFC, Because
if I, if I can get that two seed winning
the last game, I'm playing my starters.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
God himself could not make me play my starters.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
So you see, you want to turn your nose up
into two seeds.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
I'm not putting my nose up. But I've also seen
this story before and it ends up with Sidney Brown,
Terry's ACL and AJ Brown missing the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Ah, a little different.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
I understand I'm not throwing. If this was another team,
maybe I'd consider it. But they're looking to hurt people
in two weeks. That's what the commanders are looking you do.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Maybe the Eagles should be looking to hurt people for
a change.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
Yeah, why what does it do?

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Like?

Speaker 2 (46:02):
Who cares.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
It makes a statement? This team does not has not
made a statement in weeks. I want a statement.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Maybe you want a statement. Eagles going to Buffalo and win.
There's there's your statement right there. Beating the four end
beating up on a four and twelve or whatever they are,
Commander's team. I don't give who could give a rats
ass about that?

Speaker 1 (46:28):
They just did that. That's not a statement, exactly like
being the Raiders, that's not a statement. Beating Buffalo that
would be a statement. That's more important to getting the
two seed, that's sure.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
Here's the thing. If if the Bears lose and we win,
you know, that's a different story. But I still I
still don't think I would play the like even you
know it would depend, but like I would probably lean
towards just not playing, just because it's just not worth
it in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
H all right, go birds, birds, same time, same place
next Monday for Rob Brankman, for Peter Young. This is
Eagles talk until next Monday

Speaker 2 (47:16):
