Crumb of the Week, We'll give our offense uh Players

(01:05):
of the Game Defensive Players of the Game for this week.
Offense awakens in the second half, big topic conversation will
dive into it. Jordan Davis Huge block Jaalen Carter, huge block,
Jordan Davis huge return for a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
We're gonna talk about. Yeah, we're gonna talk about all
of it. Ties into our poll, let's get into it.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Through the first three weeks, Jordan Davis is them in
the best season of his career.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I mean a lot of what a lot of what
Jordan's first off, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
You can you can vote on it Facebook, YouTube, Twitter,
that's where we're live over where we get your podcasts
wherever as well hit the like, subscribe, follow, join the conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Uh, you know, a lot of what Jordan Davis does
goes unnoticed.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Rightfully, so when you're when you're playing de tackle and
you're not Jalen Carter and you're not getting the sack numbers.
But just you know, his ability to match Stafford doesn't
run like he used to, but he.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Can still move a little bit.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
And you see Jael Jordan Davis with the ability to
go sideline the sideline today, right, you see the speed
difference obviously taking taking it to the house on the
block field goal.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Per hour. Yeah, flying flying.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
And Jalen Hurts called it especially because that's something they
those two have done in Georgia together when they line
up on the same side. So you know, listen, I
mean one a day for field goal blocks in the
NFL and special teams, right, and special teams coaches keeping jobs,
and you know, having special teams for the rest of
the NFL the history.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Of the NFL. Huge day for special teamers. But yeah,
I mean, I guess he is. I don't know. Part
of me is going to tell you it's too early
to tell you that, but I.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Mean, he's listen, he's he's really good. But I mean
the way we've we haven't been great against the run.
And that's not all Jordan Davis. Our sack numbers are down.
And again not to not saying Jordan Davis, he had
the loan sack of the day. So I would say that,
I would say just because all great, just because of
the shape he's in and the big plays he's made.

(03:10):
Like he hasn't had a big play. He's had big plays,
a Super Bowl big plays. This is his own, like
this is his personal biggest play. As as a problem,
in my opinion, it's a lot of good plays, a
lot of big plays, but this one's the biggest.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
When you walk off, when you walk off.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Walcket, right, and you take it to the house and
then you have a sack in this game too, all right?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I mean yeah, I'll say it's his best season of
his career because of the because of the ability to
get better.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Shape, and he's having was he have two sacks this year?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Does he have two already? He had another one in
one of the other games.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Yeah, Not that that's the end all be all year,
but I think that's I mean, I'll find it out.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
This isn't a big deal.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
But yeah, I'll go agree, Greg, just because why how
can you not be a positive one so far?

Speaker 5 (04:00):
So yeah, I mean but in a career where you've
only had three and a half before this year, that
seems monumental through through three games, right, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I mean last year you had to your point, last
year you had one sack.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Right, So he's already there and he's got a touchdown,
he's already got three pass deflections right where you had
two last year. So I mean I think you know what,
you know, what goes back to losing weight again, Greg?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
For him?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
You know, the ability to jump higher too. I mean
I know that sounds like, oh, Tom, that's dumb. It's
not it's really not dumb. I mean when you go, shit,
thirty forty fifty pounds, now you're gonna have a little
bit more on the vertical. If that's an inch, yeah,
that's if that's the half an inch an inch. I
don't know, but an inch won a football game today.
That's what an inch. Diant just to let everybody know
out there, that's what inches do. That's what she said.

(04:52):
That's what a couple of inches do for me, baby.
But yeah, all great, Greg so love to hear what
everybody says out there because he's a hard guy. The
great he's a hard guy at times to see his impact.
He's a hard guy when it comes to say, oh,
down the road, oh we overpaid for Jordan Davis, because
that's what's gonna that's what's gonna be said down the road. Well,

(05:13):
because people are idiots, right, Yeah, I can't tell people
enough the impact of these Georgia boys and the impact
of this the events are front and and how they're winners,
and we can that's a conversation we can have later on.
But here we go again. You know, Georgia boys with
a huge impact and Jordan Davis walk off so I agree.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yeah, uh, and Tommy, I also agree, and I think
kind of where you were going with Jordan Davis this year,
it's been the impact that he's had right to the
first up until the playoffs. Last year, specifically Super Bowl,
all we kind of talked about is Jordan Davis being
a complimentary piece to the likes of Jalen Carter and
Noah Smith.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Excuse me, sorry, uh, but.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
This year he's having an I packed because he dedicated himself, right,
the loss of weight in the all season, the willingness
to grow into.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
That he's having a flat out impact in games.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Right.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
His tackle numbers are up through three games. He's been
an absolute force. You notice him in games now as
opposed to just being that run stuffer. You know, he's
evolving his game as he's growing with the rest of
this defense. And again once again this week this week,
this defense was phenomenal, especially.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
In that zagon when they when they needed debate.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
They needed debate.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
They were phenomenal in that second half, led by those
two guys. Right, those two field goal blocks naturally obviously
win the game and they keep they keep the Eagles
the offense which opens up in the second half allow
of the ability to come back. So yeah, I absolutely agree.
I think he's making more of an impact than that

(06:55):
we probably anticipated. And that's all due to him and
his work ethic and all season and and just wanting
to be around here. But see, he's probably felt the calls,
you know, the bust being thrown out there, right because
those those traditional numbers weren't there for you know, through
his first three seasons. But we saw his impact in

(07:18):
the in the super Bowl last year, and we're obviously
seeing the impact here through three weeks now.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
We just got to see if we can continue it.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Nelson says, great blocks, but where's the pass rush? I mean,
he's got more pass rush than anybody has anybody else.
I mean, it's a team that has two total sacks
on the year as a group. He's got he's got
he's got one full one. But he's a group that
hasn't gotten after the quarterback well to start the season
and it's three and oh this is also when you

(07:49):
talk about this, this entire team as a whole, and
you break down, you know, just to shift conversation a
little bit away from Jordan Davis and Will obviously shifted back.
But when you look at this team as a whole, Right,
I mean we're seventh in points in the National Football League.
We're twenty three a third in yards, we're twenty seventh

(08:10):
average yards per play. We're third in rush attempts. Cool story,
we're twelfth in rush yards.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Right.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Rush average were twenty third, pass yards were thirtieth. Pass
attempts for twenty second. Right, I mean I go down
on the line. Passing first downs were thirtieth. Defensively yards
against twentieth, rush yards against twenty six, rush average against
twenty seventh. Now, past yards were ninth, all right, Sacks
were twenty ninth, past average tenths.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
You get where I'm going here.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Yeah, Right, this is the team that hasn't put it
together yet, and it has played three good football teams.
Maybe outside of the Cowboys, we don't know what they are,
but the other two teams are I mean Kansas City,
who was in the Super Bowl as year. So I mean, yeah,
they're not the same team, They're not as good as
they are, but they're still the Kansas the Chiefs. It's
still Arrowhead, still a tough place to play, and today's.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
A tough game.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
So I mean, you're getting everybody's best shots, right, So
you're you're finding ways to win even though as a group,
you you haven't put it together fully until the second
half of this football game. And some good points that
I think are to look at here. Right, we're a
run first, We're we're a run oriented team. But even
Olsen said on the broadcast, you got to throw to

(09:26):
set up your run in this league, right, the rush
attends being third in football, right, That's that's the problem
because it isn't working right, that's until.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
The second hand. They didn't have to trust it.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
No, they tried to set They try to set it up.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
And you notice that he started getting some chunk plays
once we started throwing the football down the field.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I mean, you can't do everything.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
And like they were talking about a phone booth today,
like you just can't run the ball every play and
just wait for him to pop one. Because listen, they
were teams are going to be more focusing on them.
They're gonna smarter, they're gonna stay in their gaps more.
They don't want to be exposed in a big play.
It doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We have a way
better chance of that happening when safeties can't come down
in the box a little bit further, right, or aren't

(10:11):
focused on the run more. And you have guys winning
one on ones. So just to go over to stats
with everybody, it's the team that has to put it together.
And it's three and oher and you can make case
three damn good wins alright for sure, and not clean ones,
not clean ones.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Yeah, and we got also got to remember too when
we talk about LA and we talk about Kansas City,
these are teams that we've played a lot in the
last handful of games, right, We've played We've played LA
three three three times in our last what ten games total?

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Point?

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Right, So we played them in the playoffs, who played
them the night Brandon Graham got hurt, and we played
them again tonight. Can you see who have almost back
to back with So we're we're we're seeing teams. We're
teams that are seeing us, that are really familiar with
us in a short period of time. So I think, Tommy,
to your point, that almost makes these wins more impressive

(11:05):
because the teams they're not traditional rivals, but they're almost
becoming rivals because we played them so often recently.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Greg, that's a great point that I didn't even like
think of, right when we're talking about this stuff like that, I.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Mean, forget the Cowboys, know, and that's common sense, right right.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
But when you talk about the Chiefs again, played them
a lot, played them a lot of big games.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Over the last last year, top.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Of the Super Bowl, Yeah, so you know, and then
the super Bowl before that.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
I mean a team you're familiar with a lot. And
then the Rams, like you said, played them three times
over the last nine games, probably ten games, whatever whatever
it may be. So you're right, I mean, a team
that's got a lot of film on you and wasn't
gonna be exposed in the run.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
Neither one we're gonna allow him to beat us, and
the numbers show it, and then you lose Lane Johnson
and then I think that was the part, and I
will will sort of shift this into like obviously we're
gonna circle back on everything we're going over, but just
to get through what was today in a crazy day.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Was you know, this is a football team that couldn't
move the ball.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Well, I guess you could say they moved it early,
but you go up seven nothing, you you you throw
the first punch and you're like, okay, this is what
we do. And it wasn't a great drive. It's just
first punch. And then if you have twenty six on
answers right, twenty six on answers like I, No, this
is not funny. It's not funny. Superstition is too right.
So I'm down here, seven nothing. Go upstairs, go in

(12:31):
the living room, literally sitting next to cast. We're watching it,
we're talking about it. Nothing went well like it is.
It is twenty six nothing. And I joke with Glennon
and I said, I gotta go back downstairs. She's like really,
and I'm like, yeah, I'm down there.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Seven nothing. I come up here.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
It's twenty six On answered like, I got it. This
is bigger than us at the family. This is bigger
than anything. I come back down here and it's literally
the greatest show on Turk or grants, whatever you want
to call it. They can't they can't knock get first downs,
they can'tnot get chunk plays. So it just there's a
tell of two half. But when this game became twenty

(13:07):
six to seven, I noticed something very quick. About fourteen
minutes left in the third quarter, a lot of time
left in this football game. And the biggest thing I
noticed was Sean mcvaty in the LA rams after the
verse sack on Hurts and the fumble. I think it
was that led the points. Okay, they're hugging on the

(13:31):
sidelines like this game's over.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Okay, let me catch that.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
All across the board and everybody out there in the comments,
I'm sure you saw it and maybe you felt it
where I felt.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Doesn't always your field has always come.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
To fruition, but I felt it in my loins that
uhh uh oh like. And then right away that same
defense that's hugging it out, that's acting like it's over,
gets points, put up them in like a minute and
a half. All right, a minute and a half. It's
twenty six to fourteen, and it's a two score game.
Remember who you're playing at home, at their at their building.

(14:03):
These either far from over. In the NFL, there's fourteen
minutes left in the third quarter. I understand if you
got twenty six to seven league with fourteen left in
the fourth in different conversaurs, different conversation on how you
want to hug it out and how you want to
stroke your playoffs. But this game is far from over.
You want to go throw igh five, You want to go,
you know, jump into a guy right and have a little.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Fun that way.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
But you were throwing hugs around like it's over. And
to me that I was like, oh, I I hope
my guy sold across the field because I saw that.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Pisses me off. And then back touchdown, back touchdown. They
must have. And but the point is is you have
a letdown when you do that kind of shit.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
And this is the I don't I'm a no note guy,
but I wrote this down. This is the biggest comeback
twenty or under.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
It's nineteen eighty eight for NFL or or Eagles.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
To fill up Eagles and that's Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Nineteen eighty eight is the last time they came back
from twenty or under.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Like this. So it doesn't happen often, so enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
And this game could also You can also compare this
game to a Jake Elliott field goal back in twenty seventeen,
twenty eighteen.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
When we won the Super Bowl, the sixty yard.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
The sixty yarder that sort of propelled us. Yeah, they're
just great things that year. You can make the case
for this one. You really you really can't. I mean,
this is this is unbelievable, the kind of win you
got today against an NFC team too, which is such
important wins because you know, a lot of good a
lot of good teams on standings wise in the NFL

(15:44):
and the NFC right now. So it's good to get
it's good to get wins. But yeah, there's a lot
of a lot of crazy stuff today. But what a
comeback win and just goes to the character of this
team and and you know, maybe they can learn something
about this offensively on how let should start games in
terms of maybe you know, pushing the football down in

(16:04):
the field.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
But it's good a little bit more yeah, positives. I mean,
AJ has a big game. You need that. It settles
everybody down, right, settles the locker room down.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
You get one hundred yards a touchdown, the same thing
for your other star wide receiver, right, you know what,
eight catches, nine catches, seventy yards and a toddy calms
that down, right, So it calms down involved again.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Up, It just calms guys.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
You miss them right.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
We got out with a win, yes, last week, but
shows how much you miss him offensively and why it
was so important to bring him back this year.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Why you couldn't just let him walk?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
No?

Speaker 5 (16:39):
Uh, now you know whatever happens after this, but that
just shows how important you're, right, Tommy, Get get these
guys feeling good about themselves, right, Get these guys in
the end zone dancing, celebrating a little bit, you know.
And you know when you look at the first half
and the way that was going, you go to halftime,
you're like, all right, you know, not that any loss,
uh per se excusable. You know, we're not Elliott shore

(17:02):
Park's over here, Like, no loss is excusable. But when
you've won nineteen of twenty, you're like, you know, you
sometimes feel these types of games coming up, and we
knew the Rams are coming in. They're a good team obviously,
and they're gonna come in with a little chip on
their shoulders, so you knew it was gonna be a
good game. And you're like, all right, all right, they
got us this time. You know, they got us, all right,

(17:24):
And then you're just like, be competitive in the second half, right, defense,
make your adjustments, do you know, do what you guys
do in the second half. Be competitive, And they were
way more than competitive. They were dominant in that second
half on both sides of the field, and it was
it was a joy to watch. It was a joy
to see some of those smiles come back that we

(17:44):
saw last year so often, especially on the offensive side
of the football. Uh And and yeah, I mean that
that second half was insane.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Aleen, goodnight, Thank.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
You, Heleen d s.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Great switch by the offense into a team putting Fred
Johnson instead of Matt Private because he was getting cooked.
You have right off the bat slier you could tell.
And this seems not good without Lane Johnson. But Fred
Johnson really played good football today and and they played
good football off the bench is never easy, especially it's
an offensive lineman in my opinion, but Fred Johnson was
awesome today.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
It seems like it was just a stinger for Lane Johnson.
So he'll be He'll be totally fine, so we don't
worry about him missing next week or moving moving forward,
which is gigantic for a football team that doesn't or
hasn't played well in a place. But it's just funny that,
you know, look at look at this last strive for
the Philadelphia Eagles. I believe they completed three third and

(18:41):
longs okay, three three, three third downs and long that
they were able to stay on the football field, which
was huge on that final drive that the touchdown was
a fourth down.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
So I believe they had four times.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
Where you know, uh, you either get the first down
or a possible game over, and they were able to convert.
I mean, it's just what looks at something Wednesday night
and he said, this is the this is the new Chiefs,
this is the new Patriots. They just find ways to
win football games. I mean, that's how good they are.
And he nailed it with this one, and I can

(19:15):
play we agree with him because that's how good they are, right,
And they might not be great for four quarters, and
they might at times look like who the hell is
this football team?

Speaker 1 (19:22):
What are we doing? Why do we stink? And then
all of a sudden and come on, man, how are
you not jazz up?

Speaker 4 (19:29):
They look halftime like, they can look like shit, They
can look like absolute dog shit. Again, the damn good
football team that you have no right coming back on
with that quarterback and that offensive team that would at
twenty six to seven, that game is over because of who's.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
On the other side of the football.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
The fact that you win that game, thirty three to
twenty six is insane to me. Is insane to me.
They put up twenty six unanswered, You go put up
the same unanswer. You come back and say you came
in my ass, and you literally I threw first punch.
You do fifty five haymakers at me. I can't see straight.
We go to it, we go at the end of
the fifth round, and I wake back up, and I

(20:09):
come back and I start haymaker the rest of the fun.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Yeah, that's what they did.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
It's insane.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
And the quarterback continues to answer the bell right, does
it look good? And then just continues to make winning
plays when it matters.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
When it matters, when it matters.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
I had the one turnover, had the one turnover on
the sack, but that that was it, you know.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
And if you look at a lot.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
Of the pants of these throws, too, Greg, he keeps
stuff low, you know, doesn't put a lot of stuff high.
I thought he had way more, way better anticipation in
the second half on throws. And it just starts with
a rhythm. I mean it starts with one throw. I mean,
this is like a pitcher in baseball throwing a strike.
It's a it's a hitter getting a hit. It's rhythm
and timing. Same thing for a quarterback in the NFL. Right,

(20:56):
you start, you start completing some you have that drive
where okay, you get Aj and Bob and then guess
what happens because that everybody gets calmed down, everybody gets
confidence back. It's just getting in rhythm. And this is
big for the offensive coordinator too, right, because this is
a game where you know, he made adjustments in the
second half, and that's important if you want to keep
your job as an offensive coordinator in this league. So yeah,

(21:21):
and Bill, you're right, Zach bowns and beasts. He's really good.
I mean, I thought today was probably Johan Campbell's worst
game as a pro.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Just just high test it.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
And Johan's my guy, but he's a rookie, and yeah, a.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Really good quarterback, especially with his eyes.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Really good quarterback. Uh.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
And you know you talked.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
About the tool, right, and we talked about Jalen's leadership
the way the tool is able. Just to take that
beating on the sideline and maybe it wasn't berating, right,
but to sit there and take that conversation with Jalen
leading it and then make the you know, make the
changes necessary to continue to win that game. You know,
I know, I know the cool is the offensive coordinator, right,

(22:10):
but we all know that this is a Sirianni and
now five years in, this is hurts his offense who
was just a placeholder.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah. You know what I mean is it's a play caller.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Yeah, on the on the desk, on the desk on
the best thing. So it's it was great to see
him get some confidence in that second half and continue
to to grow and find things that worked.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
And I think the other thing just as a leader
of your football team and the things that we we
asked to see. Things we have we've asked to see
what other quarterbacks in the city, one being Donald McNabb.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Right, that we never really got.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
And here's another example of that, right, the emotion on
the sideline that we don't see from jailing too often, right,
being animated.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
The importance again, your your offensive coordinator are on the
same page on what you see and what you want
is your franchise quarterback. That's what he needs, right, That's
what I need to see because if that guy doesn't
change and you don't going to run that's the kind
of ship that gets you fired, right when your quarterback
is visibly being like, let's go get you up. What's
what's let's push the football down the field. Why do

(23:21):
you see what the second half does for next week? Right,
we're not there yet in that conversation, but what do
you see what the second half then puts on tape.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
For next week?

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Because now because now tampas respect it, and now you
might get some bigger runs, you know, Tommy.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
So not to put the car before the horse, though,
But you.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Talk about horse, I'm getting a glass of water, So
I don't.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Yeah, yes, talk about you know, looking ahead at schedules, right,
Mike Deviits might not play next week. He will have
the game this week, so Mike Debits might not play.
So again, now that game that in theory looks super
scary on paper as we come into it might not
be there. Still still gonna go and do a job, right,

(24:05):
Still gonna go and win a game. Right, But if if,
if Baker Mayfield is missing Mike Evans for an entire game,
that can only help the Eagles as they go into
a place where they haven't played well and they have
it looked great either and I know we'll get more
into into Bucks preview here.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
At the end of the show and or Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
But yeah, I mean today was such a big win
in so many ways, especially with how they looked in
that first half. I mean it was it was pretty
scary looking how bad they are, because you know that's
not them, right, we know that that's that, that's not
the Philadelphia Eagles. But again, when when you win as
much as you have in the last twenty twenty five

(24:51):
games or so, right, you've this team has found these recipes,
this this algorithm, if you want to say, of how
to win games, right, not only pretty, but they end
up at the end of the day winning the games
and and ultimately that is.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
All that matters.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
Let's see here what up Chucks Rams are tougher than
Tampa Bay. Yeah, I mean, I I hear you, Bill,
I like the the Tampa Bay always plays this tough though, right,
And and we're the defending chance, so we're always gonna
get We're always gonna get everybody's best shot.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
And so I still anticipate a really really game Tampa
Bay next week, even if Mike Evans potentially is not playing.
And again that's super super early. Uh so we still
don't know yet, Jose how great is to have a
j let him run to hitch it? I mean, yeah,
AJ's hands hands are incredible, his body, I mean, he's

(25:49):
such a monster of a target and is uh because
his hands are just spot or just they're they're massive.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
They're massive because he you don't see him not many balls?

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Bill? Do you feel like they were sluggish.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
And looking like they didn't want to be there, including
the crowds? Zach was one point hard and yeah, who knows, right,
I mean, I know I mentioned it earlier, Bill, not
sure if you're here, but I mean we won what
nineteen of our last twenty of our last twenty one games?
Those types of starts and these types of games sometimes happen,

(26:25):
you know, and it doesn't excuse it, right, but when
you've won so much, you know, a hiccup here or
there is okay. And yet they yet they still found
a way to win. That's the insane part, right, That's
the insane is they still end up finding a way
to win us. He got a lot of his yards
on his own. Yeah, one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Though, Johnny, what up? Boy? So happy?

Speaker 5 (26:51):
We got to w with a lot to clean up
the run defense and pass Russ has to improve. The
defense is so young, I have to forget about that.
I agree this is Campbell's worst game. Yeah, I feel
like the pressures are there, Johnny, Right, even throughout the
first half, first three weeks, I feel like the pressures
are there. We're just not getting them to the ground

(27:12):
and most of the time. So it's definitely something we
want to clean up, especially as we go for But
I think, but I think we'll be okay.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I think we'll be okay.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Tampa and Nelson Tapa has on our numbers, will definitely
be tough. And then you also got a factor in
Captain Bush me will be in attendant. So tap for
your expectations, though I want to one in Tampa. So
far so we don't have a losing record yet, Johnny, No,
I was gonna mention this and then we got off
that topic.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
But I completely agree with you.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
This was Fred Johnson was one of those last trades
right before the rosters we're set and announced that. You know,
I think everybody noticed because Fred Johnson was just with
us last year, but one of the this week proves
that how important that move was to Howard. Right, you
get a guy that knows the system, knows the team,
knows every you know, knows the protections can slide right in.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
And he was and he was a beast in the
second half. He really was.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Man, it was great.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
There's a football team that doesn't play well when Lane
Johnson isn't in, So to be able to get that
from a backup and a guy that you you know,
you let go, you brought back in right right before
the season gets going here and ends up being huge
for your football team. I mean Ali again now the
big elephant in the room. And I think everybody, hopefully

(28:39):
you guys saw this. Bill, I Bill, I think you're
out of your mind. Bill gold Shild, Okay, I think
you're out of your mind. I mean Bennett looked horrendous.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
We went out of what like ten straight plays.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Yeah, when Dory went out, Dude, they abused Bennett more
than the Dorry gets abused. That's my whole point about
a Doorri Jackson. I don't think he's good, but he's
better than what else is on the roster right now.
That's the problem. So until you go out and get
somebody better than him, he's your best other option.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
I'm not telling you he's great. This is what people
misconstrued what I say at the time. I'm not telling
you he's that good.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
I'm telling you he's better than Bennett were It's like
the backup quarterback, like oh oh, Ben is better put
better at the ringo in. They're obviously not better than him. God,
damn or fangie. I want to play on. Bennett comes in.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
He gets absolutely exposed on that last dride. Every play
was to him, Every play was against Bennett. So that's
what we want. I mean, give me a different name.
That's my point to everybody out that don't come in
here giving me the backup. The backup isn't good enough.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
We don't have a moron defensive coordinator here where he's
not gonna play the right guy. So unless it's somebody
off the street or on another team, I don't want
to hear any other names on this roster.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
I don't unless you want to give Killey ringo and
go and go. Hey, I'll give you a chance.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Year three, now, year three, now, year two, now, year one,
year three. You don't make the jump your junior year
in camp, Come on, I mean Isaiah Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Was the guy that was a mistake. That was a mistake.
We all knew that.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Not today.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
No, no, but a door. He is better than what
else is on the team. Oh, John Man, when's the
last time we won without Lane before he got here?

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (30:35):
I don't right, like before before we drafted him. That
was the last time we won without him? Great question,
I mean we had, but we had. We're like, I
feel like we're probably like four and like twenty without
Lane Johnson.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Yeah, I mean, god, Greg.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
No, you say he's insanely important for us, and he
has been for his entire career.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Yeah. Oh that's sound.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
I would love dance all Ward. I would love Danzel
me too.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
I mean, trade might be.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
In it though, now now that they beat the Packers,
everyone's greatest team in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Yeah, uh but I mean I'll trade a second. I'll
trade a second in the fifth for award.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
I'll trade whatever you want.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Yep, absolutely with trade whatever you want. Oh, he dropped it.
He dropped it. Oh that fall's moving. Uh, and Wayne
the pain. We definitely need to trust Vic his decision making.
He's been crushing it. Yeah, absolutely, Wayne, Yeah, absolutely, Listen
if you're just join us right now.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
The Eagles are three and now, so make.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Sure you hit the like, hit the subscribe, hit the follow,
join the conversation, talk to us about it. What's the good?
What's the bad? What is there any ugly? Is there
any great for you? Drop it all in five drop balls,
two block field goals, and two interceptions with a short
field or we're zero and three. That's knocking on the
hold up. Okay, the r p os need to pick

(32:02):
up and enough with the five yard slams. Trust the
throwers man. So Bill, Bill thinks this, Bill thinks this
is out. This is two years ago, and this isn't
going to hold up. This is smoking mirrors. Okay, I
mean the game of inches. Bill, Like, oh shit, I'm
not gonna sit around here and tell you that, you know,
this is like they're playing great.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Football across the board.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
Okay, I'm not gonna sit there and tell you that
they're three and oh, don't give me ifs. You know,
if if, if, if, if I'm not playing it's I'm.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Not playing its anymore with people. That's not that's not fair.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
You know, two bought fiddles when they blocked them, didn't
they two interceptions, they picked.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
The ball, five drop balls. Okay, guys, drop balls. We
didn't do anything right.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
The things you're saying, like we haven't made mistakes, teams
haven't gotten lucky versus us.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Come on, we're not just lucky, Bill.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
Yeah, when we wont set eighteen straight now with Jayalen,
seven seventeen straight with Jaylen, whatever, we won when Jalen's
played a full game. Okay, we're gonna start calling us
lucky now. I think a point where you can't call
it lucky. You got it to say, dude, this team
knows how to win. It's okay to say, hey, they
know how to win.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
I just saying, no I can.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I'm sorry. I was looking up to how many we
won in a row nineteen.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
To twenty if the only one was the Washington though
Chris was.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
The Washington after Jalen got hurt.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Yeah, so game again, here we go.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
We're we're a Devonte Smith missed miscatch for a first down.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
And winning that game. Yeah, yes, I would, I will, Bill.
I think he did. Sorry, Greg, but he said, don't
sugarcoat it. The opcordinator, start trusting his guys and open
it up.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Well he did, like, I mean, I agree with you,
but he did.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Like if we didn't, if we didn't win this game,
I'm right with you. Like if we didn't win Bill,
I mean, come on, I'm coming on here smoking guys. Okay,
but we did at some point, we can't think, well
if he doesn't, if you don't start trusting these guys.
We we did, and we won, and we came back
from a twenty six to seven deficit and won a game,
and and and started pushing the football down of the field,

(34:22):
and our quarterback looked good, and our playmakers looked good,
and our defense stepped up. There's special team stepped up,
A big player, Yeah, a big players stepped up.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Yeah, our defense is stepped up all year.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
But where I was gonna go is I give everybody
that benefited doubt of all these fields, like two years
ago when we collapsed, Right, but that same teams won now, right,
So that team, that same team got over that hump.
So they they they've earned that right to be a
little sluggish to start a year after a long season,

(34:57):
to grow it, go through growing page with yet another
offensive coordinator or play caller or whatever. Right, So they've
earned that. If we if they if we when we lose,
because we're gonna lose, right, But when we lose, are
we going.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
To be pissed off about it?

Speaker 5 (35:12):
Absolutely, We're also gonna celebrate each win, especially coming back
from nineteen points in the second half.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
I'm just gonna tell you. Maybe you're like, well, we're
definitely gonna loose. Maybe, I mean, we're gon we're gonna
love the game.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Here, We're gonna do the game there. I sure I agree.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
Bill says, hers just wins, good teams win close games,
a great comeback, going to agree more absolutely Bill himself
a different Bill.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
But no, no, no Bill was the Bill Gottshaw? Was Bennett QB.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Dipp or Yeah, yet, No, you're right about that one.
V D Pape BD Pape.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
You're right, sub Fellows that this win was like watching
a Rocky movie.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
And that's what what I'm saying it was. I mean,
I don't know if I.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
Said before the show or during the show, but there
was haymakers thrown by us, our leaders. The haymaker they
came back and through seventy five off our chin, we
get up off the mat and we're able to throw
a hundred more at that. It's just unbelievable. The toughness
of this football team. If you're not leaving that game today,
then all we do is win, win, win, right, And

(36:15):
and that's not your what you you just believe in
now that this team is just that good. They're gonna
find ways to win. Our quarterback is just a winner.
If you're not.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Fully invested into that, now, you're a mora. You're a more.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
If you're gonna sit around and complain and warry, you're
it's a nice I could be you're a moron.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
It doesn't mean you can't have a concern or two.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
But if you were like overly concerned, Like if you're
like sweating at night, you're an idiot.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
You you haven't watched.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Enough of this team. You're just an idiot. That's how
much they win. Like, I don't know what else you
need to watch.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
It's like how many?

Speaker 4 (36:47):
How many games you need to find ways to win? Like,
like do you think the Patriots fans win? Their dynasties
were like, oh man, looks like looks like we're not
as good this year, but guess what, we're the last
team standing. Jeeves, he didn't look good last year the
year before, and they had years where they did not
look great, but they found ways to win games.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
We talked about that time.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
We talk about that all the time, Tommy, especially with
the Patriots, and like the Chiefs and their and their
runs through September and October, they don't look good at all, No,
but as soon as November hits, they just go on
these runs.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
And we're squeaking out wins.

Speaker 5 (37:27):
Somebody. I mean, you look at some of those early
Patriot years, they were five hundred when it comes when
it gets mid October early November.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Yeah, they didn't. They weren't playing their best football al
and either or way no, and but.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
We're finding ways to win. And at the end of
the day, that's all that matters.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Martn sane and seeing jup until the tighten up changed everything.
You're right, well right, thanks for common and brother, good
to hear from you. Go birds ut st Theay Eagles.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Related.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
If we can build off the second half, this season
looks a lot a lot different moving forward, not a doubt,
John Adcock.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
You're right, Johnny, right, and I think it.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
Even looks I think this looks a lot different moving forward,
just because you're able to win a game like that.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
The momentum from a win like that.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
Yeah, Bill Millbrook says, I'm just hoping that the guys
say we're taking over and trust the fifty fifty balls
down the field. We literally saw it at the end.
Now and you're and you're right, Bill Wayward Sun fifty five.
Thanks for checking in, he says, hurts his needs to
keep proving why he is the clutchest QB in the lake.

(38:35):
So what he doesn't throw for four K? So what
that he doesn't throw four k season? I agree way
where it doesn't matter. I judge my quarterbacks off of
winning and what they do in crunch time, almost like
you judge your stars in the NBA off what they
do in the last, you know, five eight minutes of
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
M hm. Anybody missed anybody's comments here? Who is your
who is your players of the game?

Speaker 2 (39:10):
I mean the easy ones.

Speaker 5 (39:11):
You gotta go a J Brown, right, I mean it's
one of the easy ones on the offensive side. I
think you all set the three your quarterback in there.
You know, I put a bit. I put a t
D ladder bet in on Jalens So again, first half
didn't look so good. I'm like Jesus, I just chased them.
This is my fault, this is my fault, and went
all the way up to four. The only one that

(39:33):
didn't pay out was four, but one, two and three
was was definitely money.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
I mean on the offensive side. He's got to be
in that talk.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Yeah, I'll go Fred Johnson.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Fred, what a great one, you know, just.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Go something different, easy to go like the skill position
players that.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
But I'll go I'll go Fred from how bad we
saw the guy in before him.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
I'll say that he was.

Speaker 4 (40:00):
You know, he's a big reason why we were able
to hold up here.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
What up, Luke, Let's let's have him go. Boys.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
There's a great team in there. Coaches, finally let them
play aggressive ball. You nailed it, and I brought up
what you said on Wednesday. You know, this is this
is the Chiefs, this is the Patriots?

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (40:17):
Teama just find ways to win football games? And here
we are defense side of the football. I mean, I
think you gotta look no far further than Jordan Davis, right.

Speaker 5 (40:26):
Yeah, both those boat those mooses.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
In the middle.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Jalen Carter for his block, Jordan Davis for his block.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
I think there are the two players of the game
defensively slash special teams.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Yeah, and it's I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (40:43):
Going back to the offensive line, there was that you
know the blitz that Steen and uh for the first
touchdown to a j that's the the communication between Steena
and Barkley to pick up that blitz and and give
and give Jalen enough time to get that throw out
and to get that throw exactly where aj needed it.

(41:04):
I know a lot of people were, you know, unsure
about Steen coming in this year, and you know, he's
been he's been really good. I'm not gonna say he's
been great, right, but he's been good. Uh. And that
communication that they have because they've all been around for
so long, Right, they've been around for so long that
they have that communication and that that wherewithal to trust

(41:24):
your guys. Right, We've we've we've seen enough Eagles teams
Tommy right, where they don't trust their teammates. You know,
they make a call like that and then you know
the running back misses the play right and and misses
that that assignment and between Saquon and Steen and then
the rest of the offensive line, and that that play
and that that touchdown was so critical because again we

(41:47):
didn't have much time, so we couldn't waste time with
extra plays. We had to score kind of when we
needed the score. But I've been really impressed with uh,
with Tyler Steen uh filling in for Uh. He's just
Royd my blanket on the guy that left.

Speaker 1 (42:09):
La John. Oh yeah, Tyerstein, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
Fred Fred. I love Freddy because I.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
Love his He's played well.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
But you can see, you can like, we can't be
we can't be foolish to act like our run game
is as good as it was last year.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
Back then. I thought back then just just the size
of him really played a part in our run game
for sure that we don't have right now. But Tyerstein's
really good.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
Now, Yes, and he's easy.

Speaker 5 (42:39):
A lot of a lot of questions and a lot
of uncertainty that that you know, fans particularly.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Had, mm hmm, you're right, you're right. Wayward Sun says.

Speaker 4 (42:53):
Compare my homes and hurts in the first three years
team playoff appearances and wins, same Super Bowl wins, appearing
and says and MVPs that only has five regular season
wins over him at that point.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
That's probably because of Channel being banged up.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Or that that second half of twenty three.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Yeah, when the collapse where happened.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
Yeah, no, I mean dude, I mean you can you
can compare him and people will laugh. And I know
their skill sets can be different, right, and the way
they look is different on the football field. I understand
that that's not the point. But winners win and winners
winners numbers are going to look the same. And how
many wins they have, and how many playoff wins they have,

(43:38):
and how many Super Bowl wins they have and there
and total touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
That's what you have to look at. When you look
at Jaalen Hurts. You have the factor in.

Speaker 4 (43:47):
How many total touchdowns he has, Like is he having
the greatest year right now or starts the year off?

Speaker 1 (43:51):
No, but he has seven total touchdowns in three games.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Yeah, so you got the factor that in inter factor
he has four touchdowns on the ground and three in
the air. You know, you keep those numbers up. That's
a lot of touchdowns at the end of the year, right, Greg, I.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
Mean a lot of They all count the same, they
all count for six.

Speaker 1 (44:16):
All count Yeah, b d P. I said that ar
I wish we had Isaiah Rodgers. That was a dumb one.

Speaker 4 (44:23):
But again, they're not done. I mean, listen, we didn't
we didn't lose Darrel Reeves on that one. We did
lose a good player, a good corner. Definitely a tier
up from a Dori Jackson. There's like Dori Jackson to
tier up from Bennett.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
Yeah. Uh.

Speaker 4 (44:40):
And the auger said that jail on disrespect never ends.
He's quatched, And you're right, Jaln's a winner. He's a
He's a goddamn winner, and that's all that should be
said about Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 5 (44:51):
Yeah, it's it's insane. No business win that game, right,
no business winning this game today. It's that first half.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
No, not against a team and the coaching staff like
that in a quarterback like that. Yep, right, there's no
you have no right winning that came down nineteen noe
no right, Greg oh Nelson.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
Yeah, yeah he's not. He's not Brian Johnson. We can
stop with those comparisons.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
Yeah, he's been around.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
He's been on NFL coaching staff way longer than Brian
Johnson too. I think that's fair to say so. And
him and Jalen's relationship isn't.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
What that was. He just throw a fourth down pass
out of the back of the end zone. I don't
want it. Oh my god, Russell Wilson has threw a
fourth down pass out of the back of the en
zone and he still play this guy, man, I just

(46:02):
can't whatever. I don't care what they do.

Speaker 5 (46:05):
I was hoping they would beat the Chiefs, though I wasn't.
I was not want to see Casey Byrne. The Giants stink,
well they do stink.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
Yeah. Able to win like that, you know.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
It starts making you feel better about yourself. Also, don't
want him getting like the first pick of a draft either, so.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
Billy said. Defensive player of the game Bawn never Quits
made a ton of plays with the lack of the blitz.

Speaker 5 (46:46):
Offensive player Smittie Keith third down catch game when he
catch that was difficult catching grab the staying bounds.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
Yeah, I mean, good one, good one.

Speaker 5 (46:54):
I mean Zach Zach Bond is one of those you
can always always point to, uh because helways run the football.
He's definitely one of those guys that's just obviously always
run the football and making a huge plays when the
pain This game was in an instant class. Ticke and
Sure was the Rocky who I forget who said it earlier.
The Rocky comparison was was was spot on. God, he's

(47:19):
got awful of Russ. Donnie went up, Donnie go birds.
Thanks for chiming in, brother. Then he also follows up
born as an absolute dog. Billy says, question, we don't
have a turnover this year, Dewey, that's huge. We do
have a turnover in the Dallas game. We got the
fumble right before the lightning delay.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
We got a fumble.

Speaker 1 (47:43):
Uh, and then we have bonds picked today, so we
do have no talking about.

Speaker 5 (47:50):
Oh no, no, yeah, yeah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Bill, Yeah, yeah,
we don't. You're right, No, we do though, oh no,
we do jail today.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
The strip sack, not even a strip sack that the
sacking got he got.

Speaker 5 (48:05):
Killed on right, yeah yeah, But overall, yes, Bill, we
did not turn the ball over. And again, you know,
qualities of a great quarterback not turning the football over
and not putting your team in bad positions. When is
Jalen really struggled in his career, especially here, is when

(48:27):
he's turned the football over. When he stops turning the
football over, and we were it was last year, right,
two and two going to the buy, he had more
turnovers I think than than touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
And and what happened after the bye was the turnovers
went away.

Speaker 5 (48:43):
Turnovers went away, and there's there's a direct correlation to
us winning football games once to turnover stop.

Speaker 2 (48:50):
So that's absolutely bo.

Speaker 5 (48:52):
I mean, they don't turn the football over, you don't
put your team in the band spot usually win football games,
Jason Bennett, Davis plays like this, Carter will get his
money this year or next if David David, Yeah, I'm sorry,

(49:12):
Davis plays like this, Will Carter get his money this
year next?

Speaker 4 (49:16):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (49:18):
Ye had, I don't know that it matters, Jason. I
think they're prepared for it. I think they're ready for it,
and I think they're equally prepared for Jordan Davis. They
didn't pick up his option, or they did pick up
his option, so they wanted obviously won him around here.
So I think they're ready for both, and I think

(49:39):
they would willingly pay both. I don't think they want
to get rid of Jordan Davis because of his impact,
not only but also his camaraderie with those guys.

Speaker 4 (49:49):
Yeah, and Greg, this is a situation, and Jason, is
this situation where you know you got to pay a
few of these guys and you're gonna keep you know,
you gotta look at it like, okay, what are we
gonna pay? Well, were probably gonna pair a defense alignment, right,
That's where you went at it went up front.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
So you're going to secure these guys for long term deals. Right.

Speaker 4 (50:07):
Is he gonna get the same money that Jalal and
Carter gets? Absolutely not right, but he'll probably get half
of what he gets, right and.

Speaker 5 (50:16):
To that, he probably won't get Milton Williams money, which
I think is is your trade off, right will Milton
Williams getting one hundred million dollars Jordan Davis getting sixty
million dollars.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
I don't know what the number is, right, but you know, I.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
Mean a four year deal worth you know, sixty seventy
million dollars? Yeah, right, which is what annual value you know,
fifteen twenty? Yeah, I would say an annual.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
Number four is sixty.

Speaker 1 (50:46):
I would say twelve to fifteen million dollars a year
you get him back?

Speaker 5 (50:49):
Well, yeah, I mean I think that's about what his
contract is right now with the with the option.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
Right yeah, well yeah, yeah, Well I would go up
by a mill off the team option. Right, So the
team option is like twelve and a half. I'm probably
paying him thirteen and a half, maybe fourteen, But I'm
not paying him twenty five million dollars a year, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (51:08):
Yeah, twelve point nine, first fifty year option in twenty
twenty six. Okay, next year he's at Next year, he's
at twelve point nine.

Speaker 1 (51:18):
Well, he's not up for a contract after this year.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
No, he's got next year.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
Yeah. So I don't know why we're even talking about it.

Speaker 4 (51:26):
Right, I mean, you're gonna you don't have to You
don't have to pay him yet, you know. I mean,
it's one of those situations we talk about. You can wait, yep, Chris.

Speaker 5 (51:35):
If you do, or if you do, you get him
at at a cheaper rate, you know what I mean,
Like how he loves to deal, loves to come in early.
Get them at a little bit of a discount, Chris
for a super chat. Thank you, Chris, Appreciate you, brother.
So keep in mind the primary difference between twenty three

(51:57):
and now the team broke under the reign of a
Super Bowl loss. And to add on to that, Chris,
something I said a little earlier is this team won
the Super Bowl, right, so, yeah, you were coming off
of a loss that that hangover hit us a little
weird spot in the year at the end of the year.
But then this team, Lord the team last year found

(52:21):
a way to get over to hump. And I think
that changes everybody's mindset in that locker room because they
know what it takes, they know what needs to be
done to get back there. Yeah, and I think this
team is embodying that it doesn't matter what it looks
like win football games in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (52:43):
Yeah. I think again, we talked about all the time
it doesn't matter what that looks like. Yeah doesn't.

Speaker 4 (52:49):
I mean it does sometimes, but overall it doesn't. And
Chris Ye had way different mindset when you're meaning after
losing the Super Bowl and you being the one and
just won it. Sure, and what the mental what the
mental side of that is way different.

Speaker 2 (53:16):
Securities, guys is why Yeah, yeah, thank you one Nelson
one hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (53:32):
I don't know we got took the Utanamo Bay.

Speaker 4 (53:34):
I mean, you know he j was on him well,
but you know Stafford no threats and needles, so well, sure,
he's so good that you know, even good coverage feels
like it's bad coverage.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
Yeah, three for fifty six with one right and then
along long of forty four on eight targets Poka eleven
for one twelve. Jesus, it's insane. He didn't find the
end zone.

Speaker 4 (54:07):
Yeah, it is, VD, says big props to Hurts. Also,
we need to appreciate Siriani. Even after being down, this
team doesn't quit and he's.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
A leader of man. They respond to him. He gets
quambed and put some respect on our head. Coach. You're right,
you are right.

Speaker 5 (54:30):
And like I said, I want to know what was
said in that locker room. I would love to know
what was said in that locker room at halftime. I
can only.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Imagine what was being said there.

Speaker 5 (54:48):
Yeah, I want to know if it was just streaming,
like because this is that team, right, Tommy, Like, was
it a screaming or was it Hey, we've been here before.
Good question, exact spot, right, Maybe not this exact spot,
but hey, everyone, take a deep breath. That first half
is done. Let's flip the page and move on. Let's
start with a drive. Right, Let's start with a stop

(55:10):
right defense, you make it stop? But yeah, I that
that's obviously that's gonna be one of those uh moments
where you go, what what was said?

Speaker 2 (55:21):
What was said there?

Speaker 1 (55:31):
You also don't have a lot of time to say
a lot either.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
True, Yeah, because it's only yeah, it's only fifteen minutes.
This one.

Speaker 5 (55:39):
Yeah, Billy says how he always takes care to d
line and you see why they won the first three games.
Gave Vic whatever the hell he wants, paid him man
pat him in anything, and lock him up. This is
another one. Yeah, David d Aldridge, wonder jailor was screaming up.

(55:59):
Whatever it was worked, whatever it was worked. Chris Coffman,
uh I who gets keep Tampa would have win? Lookout
and uh Greg Miller chimes in Tampa has some significant injuries.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
They do.

Speaker 5 (56:18):
You know, I talked about game game that not again,
not that it's not gonna be tough, right, but a
game that once looks super super tough on paper. If
Mike Evans isn't playing, doesn't look as tough anymore. Still
gonna go handle handle business. I'm still gonna go do it.
But things change, and Tommy, it's you know, it's it's

(56:40):
you know something you've always said when when talking about
when talking about schedules, and and and looking at you know,
preseason records and you know predictions and stuff like that.
You know that's a huge loss if if Mike Mike
Evans isn't there next week.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
No, it really is, right, and that's why who you
play changes. Yeah, can change in art and can change
in a second. Well, we'll say what.

Speaker 4 (57:09):
We've got plenty of time to talk about next week obviously,
and we'll do that on Wednesday. But you know, I'm
not worried about going there and playing there. I think
in years past we didn't have our full complement of flyers.

Speaker 5 (57:23):
So I don't think he's back yet. And even if
he is back, John, he will uh it would be
his first week, so he'll be somewhat limited, you know.

Speaker 1 (57:37):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 5 (57:40):
It wasn't last week, Chris, where were last year? It
was one hundred degrees last year? And I anticipated it
about the scene. It was mid eighties today, so it
was mid eighties day. Was Za Darius on the milk
carton today?

Speaker 1 (57:59):
No, man, I think the whole front was for the
most part, Luke's.

Speaker 2 (58:15):
Drinking the juice again.

Speaker 5 (58:24):
Well, Vdpa, you're talking about Tank Tank and aj Dillon, right,
I mean Tommy mentioned it earlier and the stats run
down we did.

Speaker 2 (58:31):
We're third in rushing attempts in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (58:34):
So we don't have any problems running the well, we
don't have any problems attempting to run the football. What
our problems were early on was was having to defense,
respect our passing game and load the box to stop
the run game. Right, So you know, Tank or AJ,
I don't necessarily think would give you anything different right now,
except for just a different look. But as this past

(58:58):
game hopefully continues to uh continues to evolve, and if
it looks like you've done in the second half, then
we could get some you know, we could get some
gash runs in there like we had last year.

Speaker 4 (59:12):
Yeah, once we once we pushed the football down in
the field more, we'll get more explosive runs and we'll
and we'll have the weeks where we run the ball.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
Battery should always don't want to believe that, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 5 (59:25):
Again, the Rams are good offensive front or defensive front,
you know what I mean? The too Florida State Boys
verse and uh, what's this what's the other guy's name?
A'm blanket on them?

Speaker 1 (59:37):
I forget his name?

Speaker 5 (59:37):
Another another first or second round pick out of Florida State.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
Though. I mean they're they're they're front, their front is
very good as well.

Speaker 5 (59:45):
Yes, it's not it's not shocking that that they're tough
to run the football on Friss Fritz, thank you Dynasty.
Yeah versus Friss to Florida State boys. Those guys can
play some football.

Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
Yeah, we didn't have some of our better guys we've
played there last time. That's why I think this time
should be different.

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
And we started with bad field position on every possession
besides the first one, Luke says today, Yeah it was bad. Yeah,
it was bad. Gotta learn how to catch. Got to
learn how to catch those ones, right, You got to
learn how to catch it. Yeah, because you can't get
yourself set up, you know, inside the tent every time

(01:00:38):
Luke only turns. I mean, I put your offense, put
your offense in a really tough situation, especially with.

Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
All the changes they've made to the offense or to
the to the return games, you know what I mean. Yeah,
you should be setting your teams up for with good
field position, not worse. You're right, Greg Miller, Champia doesn't

(01:01:07):
have Cody Mouch and Ewaijah Canty.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
That's I didn't realize that.

Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
Pretty pretty important guys, mouch offensive lineman and can't see
twenty two to nine?

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Is that a real final score? Twenty two to nine?

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Yeah, oh my god. By the way, I don't, I
don't have a lot more for the night.

Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
But Jalen hurts when I mean Jalen quarter wearing Jad
versus chain and it supposed to game interview.

Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Oh my god, because Verse lost the bat with someone
who would win.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
The that's amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
So a little word of advice, don't don't. Don't. Don't
gamble with the dealer.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Don't bet with Jaylor.

Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
Don't. Yeah, don't gamble with the dealer.

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Baby, that's amazing. That's so good.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
That's yeah, it was. We'll see knuckleballs the rest of
the year. We will. I don't have anything else.

Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Or do we receive or do we see the return
of of Britain? Cobby?

Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
You good?

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
I think he's still in the practice squad.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
He did more, Yeah, he did more what he called
squibs no punts.

Speaker 5 (01:02:28):
Okay, yeah, no, I'm I'm good. I'm good for for tonight.
We got what we need to get out. We got
a couple of crumbs and we'll get.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
Out of here.

Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
Yeah, I'm I'm crumb with right now. I'm happy, happy
with a birds. Yeah, happy with her birds.

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Why did I?

Speaker 5 (01:03:00):
Oh my god, I just blank on a crumb. I
had two of them, and I can't remember any of them.
I start I'm getting old. I can start writing these now, right,
my son of a bitch, I had it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
I lost it. I lost it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
It's actually amazing, it truly is.

Speaker 5 (01:03:20):
I was just sitting there like, yeah, I got a
crumb and then we'll get out of here and then crum.

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Yep, me and pick. That might be the crumb right there?
Mcvag celebraton. What you know what? Two quarters after football?

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
That's unreal. That's unreal. Typical Sean McVay.

Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
Though, right like typical Sean McVay, that's a complete Sean
McVay move.

Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
Move right there, we are as a crumb in the week.
Next week will be Franklin next week. That would be
the crumb in a week.

Speaker 5 (01:03:52):
He's saying, Yeah, well, good news is I probably won't
watch that game, so I won't have any jinks on it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:00):
Uh they'll be good, So they're good. Uh, Bill's already guaranteed.
We beat Tampa by double digits.

Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
Oh boy, oh boy.

Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
Like that?

Speaker 5 (01:04:17):
Oh I remember my Trump the Philadelphia Phillies beat writers
and the Philadelphia Phillies media trying to drum up some bullshit,
uh in the middle of what looks to be a
World series run. And I'm not saying I haven't thought

(01:04:38):
the questions that they've asked Nikki over the last couple
of weeks, but those are things you just shut your
mouth about.

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
You maybe ask him once and then move on.

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
And you especially don't ask him after a night that
he had a really, really good night, and you just
you try and bait.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Him into into an you know, into a spot.

Speaker 5 (01:05:01):
Right, bade him into BULLETI bore material on his own
freaking coach. Yeah, And I feel like Nick handled it
as well as he could have, uh answered the question,
but also, you know, reminded everybody all we want to
do is win a World Series, right and I And
it's funny too because the arc of the season, it

(01:05:23):
was that was Max Kepler over in the year, right
was but heard about split in time and now it's
Nick Cassianos and they both have said the right things
at the right time. And there's like I said, there's
times where I look at Casianos and his and his
demeanor and his and is especially when he's not playing,

(01:05:45):
and I questioned it, and I questioned what he's all about.
But then you realize he's a fat that's played all
the time, even even in his contract here up until
this year, he's played every freaking day. And you don't think,
like to a player, a veteran of that stature, that
that's a shock to the system. Said, he just might

(01:06:07):
not know how to handle right away, like, we gotta
give this guy some We gotta give this guy some slack.
We gotta give this And again, I understand that the
media has their jobs. Actually praise Ruben a lot for,
you know, for that that first initial interview with Fransky
totally changing the subject back to Nick and back to
the two hundred and fiftieth home run, so it didn't

(01:06:28):
go into anything more there. But then the beat writers
in front of the locker room, you know, get them
later on and continue down that narrative, and it's like,
come on, what are we doing right here at such
an important time of the year.

Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, ask
it once. They just kept asking the same damn question.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Over and oh and every way they can answer it,
I mean every different way they can ask it the
same question. It's a fucking joke. These guys are losers.
Avatidic guy wants to play. He talked a little bit
about Robbie. Everything else he said was was was the
right thing to say in the situation he's in, right,

(01:07:08):
So he didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
Say anything bad about Robbie. He was just talk as
much as they.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Used to yeah or whatever that may mean. Right, So
that was it.

Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
But yeah, I took it the same way. It's a
great crumb that should have been mine too, and I
forgot about it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:25):
Bill. This is my other one. Thank you, Bill. Jesus,
I knew Billy was gonna come through for to day.

Speaker 5 (01:07:31):
Yeah, that's the constant crying about it, Like all right,
so you're all sides flag Yeah, Like like we're sitting
here saying you can't flag us on it. If if
you see it, just start a flag, then.

Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
Yeah, let's throw it. If you feel it could happen, right, throw.

Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
It then yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
All right, Well listen, great show, go birds, see everybody
next Wednesday night, and we'll see you next Sunday. As well,
three and out heading to Tampa. We'll break that down
Wednesday night for you. Right, let's go early feeling though.
We go down to Tampa and we went down there
a place we haven't played well, and we'll play well

(01:08:11):
this week down there and get ourselves.

Speaker 5 (01:08:12):
Well, get a dumb and it will be obnoxious down there,
because it's already obnoxious even when we lose. With all
the fans that travel, it will be obnoxious down there
if we win.

Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
Muting everybody out there. Thank you for comming in and
coming in the night. Go Birds thirty three twenty six win.
Jordan Davis is still running. That's Greg Molacovic. I'm Tom Arno.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
