WWE turned The Vision against Seth Rollins too soon: #AGREE or #DISAGREE?
The Vision Attacks Rollins
Cena/Styles Put On Instant Classic
Crown Jewel Final Grades
Dudley’s/Hardy’s One Last Time At TNA BFG

It’s been an eventful week in professional wrestling, with WWE Crown Jewel and TNA Bound For Glory taking place this weekend. However, what was not expected was the shocking close to Raw that would become the big news of the weekend!
Coming off of his first win over Cody Rhodes to become the Crown Jewel champion, Seth Rollins was flying high. The last thing he could have expected was his own group, The Vision, to spoil his big week. Yet, that’s exactly what happened. CM Punk defeated LA Knight and Jey Uso to become the Number 1 Contender for the WWE World Title. Following his win, The Vision came out to beat down everyone, and as Rollins celebrated in the ring, Bron Breakker hit him with a spear and Bronson Reed landed a Tsunami in a shocking turn of events, with Paul Heyman raising the hands of the young former protégés of Rollins.
So what’s lies ahead for Seth and The Vision? We discuss.
The other big story of the weekend was the instant classic put on by John Cena and AJ Styles at Crown Jewel, spotlighting an incredible match proving as a dedication to the biggest opponents of both men’s careers in both WWE and TNA Wrestling. We break it down and discuss where this match ranks on the all-time list. We also recap the other highlights of Crown Jewel.
Finally, we saw the end of an era, as Team 3D took on The Hardy Boyz for one final match. This marked the end of one of the greatest tag teams of all-time, and we discuss the influence of both teams.
It’s an action-packed episode of The Lazy Booking Podcast that you won’t want to miss!

we thought coming into this that we were gonna open
this thing with the absolute classic that was John Cena

(02:23):
versus AJ Styles a Crown jewel, And wow, did that
change course from yesterday morning?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Good God?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, I mean if anybody, yeah, I mean it was
it was an unexpected, uh, an unexpected thing.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Like I very adamantly was just going to text you
today like Saturday after the John Cena AJ style thing,
was like, all right, if my day goes pretty well,
I'm gonna see I chrome's doing a show Tuesday, I'm
gonna see if I can hump hop on because it
was a fantastic match.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
It hitching all the fields. We'll get into that.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
And then yesterday happens and like I wake up, I
start watching it, but I gotta go to work, So
I go to work, right, and I forget about it
because I wasn't super impressed with the show. I'm like,
I got things to do today, let me just do this.
And then it happened and I got the text from
a buddy of mine Silent Hill, and it.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Was off to the races, and I knew the whole
world just changed.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Well it was, it was spoiled for me.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, So we were getting ready to do the Eagles
podcast with Blue Meeni.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Which, by the way, if you haven't seen it, go
back in our art lives.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, either go on.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
The Lazy Booking YouTube page or on the A two
D Radio YouTube page. Go back and check that show
out from yesterday, especially if your an Eagles fan, really
smart football.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Guy, please, definitely some intelligent fellas on that on that show.
But going back, so Meani was running a few minutes
late and I went downstairs because I still had rall
on and I saw kind of part of the end,
but not the full that that part. But the only
reason I went back downstairs is because we went to

(04:09):
go get a drink real quick. I go get coffee
and there it is, and I'm like, holy shit, what happened?
And I'm uh, I'm telling my wife, you won't believe
what just happened. We might have to do an emergency pod.
And I spoil the whole thing for for Chrome and Meanie.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
So yeah, so it wasn't my fault.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, is the thing is Eric's new to the game,
or is new to the game.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
I gotta hit that mute button, man, So we got
to teach him how to use the mute.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Not even that you just got to understand in his
entire life. I think Chrome has maybe watched I don't
watch of Monday Night Raw live.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah, I never watched Raw. I never watched any of
it live. The only thing I watched live is the Peelies.
And half the time then I'm starting at forty minutes.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Like we have a separate chat because of grow.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Correct, because I would I would tell them, They'd say,
are you watching live? And I'd say no, and they
had to go to the other.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Chat, but yeah, I thought I felt I felt really bad.
It's fun especially I was like, I was like, sorry.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
No, it's all good. Listen. The impact of it was
still tremendous. But let's let's obviously we're skirting around it here.
Our opening topic of conversation is ww turned the Vision
against Seth Rollins too soon, Agree or disagree. So if
you're on Facebook, you're on YouTube, you're on ex Twitter,

(05:33):
wherever you're at, please give us a share, give us
a like, give us a follow, and by the way,
come in it. We want to hear what you guys
thought about what happened for day morning eight am. Well,
I guess it was ten am when it happened or
what was it ten to forty? Is whatever we started
at ten thirty right or ten thirty five, because.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah, it was it was about he was on.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Right right at ten thirty and yeah we could have started, like,
you know, give us a couple of minutes. We'll just
take a five minute spot start, we'll fill our waters.
And then of course we hear Eric in the background
talking to his lovely.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
That just her.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
They just turned on Seth pay what yeah, yeah, the
vision they just turned on set. They just and me
and Meanior.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Like like she cares anyway.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I know, like like like she cares me and mean are.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Like that's that's like, that's like her talking sex and
the City with me, like I could gear like come
on like and it comes back right and sits down
and he's like, dude, wait till you watch the end
of roll Man.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Something really big happened. I was like, yeah, they turned
on seth. He's like, how'd you know. I'm like, because
I heard you tell your wife.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
And I'm sitting here feeling like because I texted in
the group that like, oh my god, did everybody see it?
Because I totally like I saw your message chroom about
the show. It never once registered that that was going
on in the morning, so I thought you were sitting
watching Raw like the rest of us schmucks were.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
And then when you're like, we're doing the show with media,
I went.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Oh my god, tell me I didn't just spoil this
for him. Glad to know it wasn't my faulty.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
It kind of reminds reminded me real quick. Reminded me
of when Punk came back. I thought the show was over,
I go walking off, No, so I let the dogs outside,
I come back in and there he is. I'm like,
what the heck, Like, like, what in the world, Like
we did the credits, the credits went and I'm like,

(07:32):
all right, all good.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
And then n XT Toronto when Shampa turned on Gargano
Will Forever Make Me Not Never trust a lower third
graphic from.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
W W E FNT and that, and.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
It's like the after credits scene on a Marvel movie
now now, like I literally wait till the screen goes
black for me to think like, Okay, this is over.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah, no you can't. And and the Punk one Andy
and in this very ring did a live reaction show
to that show we were on. That is my I
believe my mose viewed on TikTok Cool. I clipped the
live reaction together with and I synked it up to

(08:21):
when Punk came out. Yeah, so if you go to
my TikTok at, he'll chrome we have a live reaction
video that's on. We went. We went, but we both
we were all kind of shocked because like I'm just
like sitting there in my head, I don't even know
what I was doing. Well, and then the music and
we all just see us all go.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Well, so you had sound, you were muted because you
turned sound on. If I remember correctly, we didn't have sound.
We muted our sound on the TV. Yeah, we had
the table back here. Butters and I were sitting there
and we're getting ready to break down the show. I
think I got on Twitter to look at any reactions
as Butters was saying something, and out of the corner,

(09:00):
I just see lights flashing, and so I look up
and I go bananas.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
And because it's punk music.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, yeah, it was crazy. It was crazy awesome. Already
having comments in here, we're gonna jump into the poem
with Donovan already commenting in love that Donovan answer. I
would say it's too soon to have them turn against
but say, this isn't another Seth idea to lower all
our guards, like how we thought he was going to

(09:30):
be injured or he was injured. That is great. That's
a great point storyline wise, because it does play into
how Seth even got to the title. And there are
a couple of possibilities Donovan and everybody out there of
why this happens. So let's talk about it. So let's
get back into our pole and we're gonna go around
the room, start with Eric will work our way around again.

(09:52):
Ww turned the Vision against Seth wrongs too soon? Do
you agree or disagree?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
I think I agree every week, but not this week.
I I disagree, Ah, whether it's injury or not. And
you know, and you know what it may be because
of injury, and it may not because of injury. And
maybe the Vision had their best stuff that they've had

(10:18):
over the last week or two. But I think it's
time to get these young guys pushed into this world
title picture.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
These guys are showing that they can they can be
with without without him and be able to be able
to thrive. I think especially at Crown Jewel seeing uh,
seeing what happened there with Bronson putting uh putting him
over Rome, and I mean that's that that's a stamp

(10:48):
of approval if I've ever seen one. I mean, I
think I think you know, of course you got bron Breaker,
But Bronson Reid is the one that we talked about
last week where he he just seems to uh to
have it. He just has that look, he has the
the he he talks really well, and he's and he's
really good in the ring, and he's unlike anybody else

(11:09):
that they have. So I'm all for this, whether it
was for injury or not. Of course, you don't want
to see if if the injury is true, you don't
want to see anybody get hurt. But I think this
may be a benefit if they do it correctly, where
they push these guys straight to UH to a world
title and if if Seth is not going to be

(11:30):
able to compete, you gotta you got a world heavyweight
champion the crown. So I mean it kind of makes it,
UH makes it look even more clear that, you know,
with one of these two guys could be right there
being the next world heavyweight champion.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
There you go, Andy, So one, I disagree, and and
I think there there's a voice in my head that
says last week on this very program, we talked about
the vision breaking up and would there be a turn
of braun And I also kind of want to say

(12:09):
that I don't think I said it, but I know
we said it on this program last week.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
I may I may be wrong, I may have said it.
I don't remember either way.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
I'll I wasn't gonna take the credit for that, but
we talked about it, and I said, I know, damn well,
I said that this vision storyline, it just doesn't doing
it for me. It's not going anywhere. It feels very stale.
A lot of raw when they're concerned has been copy
and paste week to week to week, even so much

(12:39):
as how they go about the beatdowns. And then you
watch the promo Monday, Well actually no, no, no, yeah, you
watch a promo Monday, that opening promo and Seth says
how he didn't need anybody. He doesn't need anybody this,
that and the other thing. One watch Braun Breaker through
that and watch how he kind of gives him this side.
I look of wait really, and then it made me

(13:04):
think back to the weekend. All right, bron Breaker wasn't
in a match on Crown Jewel. Actually, when was the
last time Breaker had a match? What's Breaker been doing
other than just supporting Bronson Reid, who's been in this
feud with Roman that nobody expected to take off.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Well, they had a match wrestle PLUSA right.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Yeah, but I'm just saying, right, like, if you look
at the week to week stuff, he's been a secondary character.
And the big question that I had when I saw
that moment on Monday was why are we playing him
up as a secondary character when he was the first
one input into.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
The vision.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
You know, Seth brought him on first, and then for
have him to spear Seth, which, by the way, wwe
did a great job shooting it number one, because you
really couldn't see Bronson. I'm sorry, bron bra I'm gonna
screw this up a lot. You couldn't really see Breaker

(14:04):
getting ready to take the spear. You just saw him
kind of looking out like he'd been doing he'd been
doing it weeks and weeks and weeks. When Seth is pandering,
he's looking out to the crowd, so you really thought
nothing of it. And then the turn and the spear
and to look at Bronson Reid and go, you're either
with me or you're against me. And then to almost
say verbatim the same thing to Paul Hayman. It's a

(14:25):
callback to Friday Night when they were saying, hey, if
he doesn't win, right, we know what to do. Yeah,
he's still won. But one he didn't win clean, which
he's a heel, okay. But two to come out and
say I didn't need any of you guys. I don't
need any of you guys, that right there put you

(14:47):
in the next chapter. So all this really slow, copy paste,
cookie cutter stuff you've been doing with them and the USOS,
Them and Roman over the last few weeks has led
up to this moment. Whether Seth's injured or not, right,
rotator cuff or not, it's a work or not.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
I don't care.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
This was the right time to do it because now
you go to Saturday Night's main event in two weeks
time in Utah. You can have Punk beat Seth. Now
you can do Punk versus Breaker. Seth goes away whether again,
like I said, if he's injured, that sucks, right, go
get yourself fixed, come back, be healthy, all the fun stuff.

(15:33):
But the waters are muddy when it comes to the
main event picture because you still also have La Knight
and Jimmy usso who could still make a claim even
though Punk won the triple threat match. Now you've got
bron Breaker having an issue with Seth and Bronson Reid
also having an issue with Seth. The bigger question for

(15:53):
me coming out of Monday morning so weird to say,
what the hell just happened to Survivor series?

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Right? What where was it?

Speaker 4 (16:06):
The judgment day versus Sena's Avengers, Right, that's the fun.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
It could be.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
But I think this was a perfect time to do it,
because it was stale when you look further out, if
I look big picture, maybe not. But in the moment
week to week episodically amazing time to do it. Plus
you also had nothing and Crown Jewel with a big
shock moment or anything. I think, honestly, I'll die on this.

(16:38):
Little Sina Style should have been the main event, so
you needed something to send the Australia crowd going wow,
what a weekend.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Yeah, I mean we'll get into grades for Crown Jewel.
I have no issue with where Sena Styles was on
the card. I had no issue with how the card
was structured in general. Right, But I thought this was
a big moment and now seeing what spun off of
it is the reason why they gave set that high
moment at the end of that, only to pull the

(17:09):
rugout from under him the next night. Right comment sections
flying by the way, I appreciate you guys. We're gonna
pop someth up in a few minutes. Got Dynasty, John
in there, castig Leana, John malmis Uh, all kinds of
people in there. Love it. Keep it comming, Thanks guys.
Donovan's in there still. So it's interesting because we just

(17:31):
had this conversation last week, right, you were not a
fan of this vision thing. Today it was working, blah
blah blah. I think we we we kind of all
got what we wanted out of this because I know
for Andy wasn't working for you, you were ready for
this to be over. For me, I think it's a
huge success. And maybe this wasn't the plane. This is
where the injury comes into play, or maybe it doesn't

(17:54):
that could this have been a pivot short. But the
thing is you got someone who was released less than
eighteen months ago, or I guess it was over eighteen
months ago, but was brought back a little over twelve
months ago, and Bronson Reid who had previously been released

(18:16):
and then came back and he was pegged as this
beast and he was going up against giants such as
braun Stroman and Jacob fought to and anybody that was
a big, massive human being they were putting up against.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
But it was.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Still kind of middle of the pack. And then he
gets this opportunity against Roman and I'm talking he just
took the ball and he ran with him, and I
don't think anybody expected that his rocket would get shot
up so quickly coming off of the road, which, by

(18:52):
the way, shows the star power of Roman reigns and
what it can do for you in a feud with Roman,
whether you win or loose. So I don't think I
get what you're saying with Bronson that he kind of
became a little bit of a background player. I think
that's more of a short term view of what he's been,

(19:13):
or maybe over the last three weeks or so, But overall,
I don't think he's been because he's been the guy
that Seth's been talking about for four months, saying, you're
the next in line, You're the next He's said it
from the moment this group got together, You're the next
in line, and you can and you go back and
you harp on that. And the fact that for three

(19:35):
weeks that's been talking about how he's done everything himself.
And I do wonder this is where I'm a mid
at you Eric watching it back and knowing it was coming.
I think it was so telegraphed. But if I didn't
know that it was coming, I don't know that I
would have seen how telegraphed the end of the night
was coming from all the different the opening segment to

(20:00):
the backstage conversations, and I'm curious if I would have
picked up that something is big as getting ready to
happen here. But that being said, I know it's beautifully
done because what it did allow me to do is
see the trinkets and the bread crumbs they were lying
down leading up to this, and then it makes you
think back, if I went back, how many other bread

(20:20):
crumbs would I pick up in leading to them?

Speaker 4 (20:22):
And that that's you know, and that's one of the
best things about sometimes some of the best wrestling storylines
is they do leave those little bread crumbs and it
makes me want to go back and look at more
so the promos, not necessarily the matches or the stuff
that they do individually with the ussos, the promos as

(20:43):
a group, and the stuff that Seth has been saying
prior to the last couple of weeks and was it
there or not?

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Can we talk about not necessarily with the group. We're
gonna get that real quick.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
We're gonna get to the comments in this section. The
opening segment generally we pop them up and we talk.
We give our openings of the topic. Just we got
some new view now, well we will start to go in,
we will start to hit the comments. Short.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Yeah, I just wanted to hit on one thing. Go
back to the promo with Cody and Seth where he's
questioning who's making the who's making the decisions within the group,
and he talks about did you authorize brock lesnar to
come back? Did you authorize Bron and Bronson to be there?

(21:32):
Like it kind of started seeping doubt and who's making
the decisions in the group. So that is what that
is one bread crumb, I would say, is probably not
being looked at enough. But if you go back, you
can see him. Look on Seth's face, he's like, oh,
this guy's right, like he's like he and then he
plays it off like it's he's making the decisions and stuff. So, uh,

(21:56):
just something to you know, pick up on as far
as bread crumbs are concerned, and going to Bronson, Reid
and Bron and why Bron hasn't been hasn't really been featured.
I think they know that what they have in Bron already,
that he's already penciled in. As you know, the next
few years and they've been saying it, but they wanted

(22:19):
to get Bronson more featured so that he's getting the
rub just like just like bron is.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Yeah. No, and the other thing too that the before
I jump on the comments here, but one question that
has not been answered. Paul has aligned himself with them,
But was this premeditated or not? Because it's it was
presented as if he was kind of put in a
make your decision now, and that's it. What was it premeditated?

(22:50):
That's the bread crumbs you're talking about, Eric, was the
were these decisions all along to get us to this moment?
Or is maybe Paul Hayman in direct actually the reason
that this happened because of his decisions undermining Seth made
the rest of everybody else look at Seth as less
of a the leading figure and then that is what

(23:14):
kissed the doubt. And I want to get into the comments,
So go ahead after this, And and.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
You know I said it last week, Seth not listening
to Paul going back and he ate a crossroads for
his trouble, right, He's been the only one not listening
to Paul him and so if it turned around, Hey,
this was something we discussed. You know, we didn't plan
to do it now, but he kind of pushed us there,
kind of bit I'm okay with that to say from

(23:39):
the beginning, I think would be a very big stretch.
But I could say, hey, this is something that we've
discussed ever since, you know, two weeks ago when Seth
got laid out by Cody after not listening to me.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
And then you call back to.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
The program, the promo on SmackDown, you know, backstage with Seth, Seth,
Bron Bronson and Paul what if he loses then you
know what to do?

Speaker 2 (24:06):
SOFA new name I've seen on here today says do
you think Sam Punk would be healed and create instead
of vision straight edge society? I don't think. I don't
like the idea.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I don't I don't think.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
I don't think you can go back to that, because
one it didn't work the first time to see him.
Punk has He's one of those stars that has transcended
heal and face. People are going to cheer for him
no matter what city he goes into. He can come
out and tell them all that they're they're morons and

(24:40):
they're stupid, and you know that they're horrible people, they're
still gonna cheer because they haven't seen Sam punkin so long.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
I think the bigger question is when Seth comes back,
where's he fall into it? Where he's already alienated all
the heat, all the faces, and now the heels don't
like him, So where does he fit in this picture?

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Well, it's the irony Eric. Yeah, everything he said that
CM punk is is exactly what he is.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Then that was the most stupid bastard moment ever. Well,
but I think there there's Eric's onto something a little
bit there. Number One, let's not assume that Seth's going
away for a while just yet, right until something official
comes out, we could very well see Seth on Raw
next Monday night in Sacramento. Two, I think it's this, Actually,

(25:40):
there's a way to take this. He's alien you know,
Eric said, a great alienated, all the heels, alienated, all
the baby faces. He's on a essentially a losing streak.
He has no one around him. His wife's kind of
the same way. She's kind of sucking right now, and
even though they're both champion. I thought this after Selena Vegas,

(26:02):
you know, with Alistair Black and all that. What if
we're gearing up again for a mixed match challenge of
some sort. That's not just shut up. I loved it.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
That's not what it was. I don't need it again.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
But but do you see what I'm saying though, Like,
it's very odd that'll where I say odd, it's odd
for WWE that we're really putting some focus on these
married couples. It wouldn't It wouldn't be something that I
could think would be out of the realm of possibility
if you put Seth and Becky just together by themselves
to kind of figure their lives out.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
So, Soffolk follows up, what I mean, is punkin be
a hill soon? Is it possible to bring back fire Burns?
So I I I'm gonna jump in on this one. Yeah,
I believe. So the point we're making is, I don't
think I don't look at seeing Punk as a healer
face at this point. He does things that are heelis,
he does things that are faced. He isn't an egotistical guy,

(26:58):
both in real life and in cat So whether he's
a heal or face, I don't think it necessarily makes
a difference. He's gonna get cheered by who loves him.
And he's not going to be by the people that
dislike him. So could it happen. It could happen if
you want to go by the technicality. I'm never gonna
say never. I don't think it needs to. I think

(27:20):
the irony that we were talking about right of everything
that Seth Robins tried to claim that that Sam Punk
is now will be ultimately his NFL And it's the
same thing when Jay Uso came back to Raw after
leaving the Bloodline and people were isolating him. It's you
can play k kind of the same storyline. You don't

(27:41):
need Punk necessarily to turn here, and somebody else asks
just to follow up on that if as far as fireburns,
I don't think that's even gonna be Like they just
played cult to Personality the other night on Jimmy Kimmelive.
It's the anniversary of that song. They are not they're
not changing his song. But somebody did follow to follow
up on it, asked, are you John Castig h are

(28:06):
you in favor of adding new members to the Vision.
If so, give me a couple of.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
I am not.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
You don't need it. These are this need. The focus
needs to be on these two gentlemen who both can
speak I think Bronson more than bron Bronson can speak
with anybody in my pink. Yeah, but having pulled him
in there, let this be the reason. Not hey, we're
jumping from here to go to Broncks leading it or.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
So then it's Judgment Day all over again.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Well, there was no yet, I mean, there was no
need to change what was going then. I think the
purpose for them to step out is to be on
their own, not to add new memories. They're young, so
they're not going to add another young guy, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
So Pete and I were talking about this.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
He messaged me yesterday and we went back and forth
a little bit on it, and then we kept that going.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Today and he said, Sammy say.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
And and I don't agree with it because what I
think you're gonna do here with what the smart thing
to do with Braun and Bronson is something we don't
ever see with duos. We normally see them go tag
team titles and that's it. I would love to see
bron Breaker go after the world title and Bronson Reido

(29:26):
after the Intercontinental title or the US so whatever by
that point, whatever titles on whatever show, right, whatever, But
I would like to see that and then have these
two just powerhouses roll through with individual titles because each
one of their their finishers complements the other. Right, So
if Bronson is trying to beat up on CM Punk

(29:50):
to soften them up for braun right a tsunami, they're
they're building this as a rib crusher. Insert the spear,
same concept, spear, spear hurts no matter what. It's bron breaker, right,
and now you add in the power of the tsunami
behind it, right, it all they're gonna feed each other.
But I think you do this individually, not as a

(30:13):
true idea.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, I was saying for weeks before this happened, I
thought putting the tag titles on them would make sense.
But I think now I'm in agreement. It's kind of
like at this point, especially with singles wins, like, I mean,
how much bigger can you get with Bronson beating Roman Reigns,

(30:36):
I think that puts him right there in the world
title picture. If that doesn't, nothing will.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
So.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
I'd say it's it's time. And I think, uh, I
think these two have have proven and I think that's
why they went ahead and pulled the trigger on this
on this turn because I think they see nothing but
stardom from both of these guys. Uh uh, collectively and individually.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Yeah, no, I agree. Listen. I think at the end
of the day, the purpose of this was for these
two to step out into the forefront and let them
be the focus. So adding, you know, a more established
star makes no sense, and adding a younger star makes
no sense because they are young stars.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
It's them.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
They're trying to be the leader going forward. They're not
trying to They're not in a position to mentor or
protaging anybody. So the way this is is intended for
them to be on their own and and probably at
some point, much like we saw with Randy Orton and Batista,
they will probably meet down the road. It's yeah, yeah,

(31:44):
I could.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
I could see influence coming from Brock maybe like in
a promo. It's like I was talking to a but
like I don't think it's like, what.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
What the hell hold on? Stop?

Speaker 3 (31:56):
No, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
What what influence does Rock Lesler bring to this?

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Agreed?

Speaker 4 (32:03):
What why are shut up? Why are you so big
on Brock being a part of this?

Speaker 2 (32:08):
See, I would I would keep Rock far away from this.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
I don't think I'm not I'm not saying it's a
it's a necessity, but it just makes sense. They're with
they're all with Haymen. Well, I mean they're gonna be.
Did I say they're going to be a group together? No?
Did I say it's possible they could be whispering in
his ear like, hey, do you really need this?

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Because Brock whispers that's funny.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Now listen, let me center this back. But I think
I think at the end of the day, the the
common denominator here is Paul Hayman, who, whether it's it's
going to be a payment influence going right, he's supposed

(32:57):
to be, I think the guy who's going to help
this hear them and navigate them now in this next
phase where they're the guys no longer the guys behind
seth waiting for their turn. So I don't know what
happens with war games. You know, you kind of brought
that up earlier, and I thought it was interesting. I
was gonna hopefully somebody would bring it up or I

(33:17):
would bring it up, and maybe that's a good thing
because we thought it was so predictable. We thought, maybe
we're not getting the John Cena's All Star team. I
feel like we probably are, but I don't know who
they go against. I don't know how this works out,
but I kind of I'm kind of excited for it.
It could couldn't be brock, could there be more involved?

(33:38):
Who knows? John says on here and just to respond
to this, John malmis long time ad two d v
or I so wishes that John Mox's contract wasn't for
another two years and if he could come back with relations.
So I think Triple H would bring him back. I
don't necessarily need to see him come back, maybe at

(34:00):
the very end, if there's like some kind of a
shield moments. But I know I'll say this. I know
John Moxley in the past has said he would he
has no desire work for w W before, but he
has not made that statement since Triple AGE has been
in charge. That was a statement made numerous times two

(34:21):
and a half three years ago. So I would be
curious to see if John Moxley would if John Moxley
would come back to w W.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
A I don't want to see him back, Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
I'm good either. I don't either. Let me see be
paid by w W a maybe.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Well, yeah, licensing, you have to right to be paid.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Yeah, didn't we hear fireburns during WrestleMania.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Yeah, I think that's why I thought you have a
pretty penny for that.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Yep, it's like Metallica.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Yeah, I mean we're power to you. I like culture
personality better personally me too. I liked the song before
it became a song though. It's a classic, so I
like the fact. Oh yeah, no, it's like an eighties
class and like I said, they were celebrating it on
Kimmel because it's the anniversary of the song. But yeah, anyway,

(35:29):
really interested to see where this all goes. Let's jump
into our next topic here obviously, Okay, guys, I was
so excited to get into. So let's talk about this
crown jewel in Perth. We get AJ Styles versus John Cena.

(35:51):
Now we're gonna set the before we get the opinions,
and let's set the landscape of everything. Some people don't
have espns. Maybe they didn't get to see the whole thing.
I'm sure they've seen clips on the internet. AJ Styles
comes out. He's wearing his gear, including no gloves, wrist
tape of how he used to dress twenty years ago
in TNA, it's the exact gear.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Comes out the Asylum days, the.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Old Asylum days. He comes out, and then obviously we
have the Sena entrance. He comes out, massive pop Proud
is singing to it for both of them, and John
Cena gets his entrance, and then after that he takes
a piece of paper and the entrance, by the way,

(36:37):
what I'm referring to is, you know they've never seen
seventeen come into Perth for one final time or overseas
one final time. His whole big read and he hands
the ring announcer the a piece of paper. And this
is not known by AJ styles folks. He had no

(36:57):
idea this was going to happen. This was a John
Cena spontaneous spur of the moment on this spot thing.
And he writes up an entire write up basically putting
AJ over as the total NonStop action in t NA,
the face that runs the place.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
The undisputed leader of the bullet Club.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Bullet Club he references, and he says, come into Perth
to try to beat up John Ceno one last time.
And I love when he's made the bulletcard reference her
Bullet Club references. AJ goes, oh ship, yeah, it was
so good, gets an unbelievable entrance announcement, and then so

(37:36):
the match begins. Match starts off, and they're you know,
they're doing the you know, the jockeying and this and that,
and man, this match takes a turn that nobody saw
was going to take. It becomes what a lot of
people have talked about as a love song to professional wrestling.

(37:57):
You know, AJ has has said he is retiring after
next year, which I don't know what that means in
terms of a w w WEE contract if he's going
to finish there. He's always said he intended to finish there,
so I don't know if that means he does a
tour ww for a year similar to scene and then
he goes away or maybe he goes to TNA for

(38:17):
a year or I'm sorry aw for a year. However,
and that probably explains why he got that moment at
TNA too this year. They probably know this was coming, yeah,
and he got that return back at TNA. I think
that was what that wasn't about for worry that was Slamiversary. Slammiversary.
So it becomes this whole story where they are paying

(38:43):
homage to the guys who got them to where they are.
John seen it with WWE and AJ styles with TNA.
So just to throw out the list, so you see
the various Moose, AJ styles pay tribute to Samoa, Joe,
Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, Sting, and James Storm. So if

(39:09):
you did watch this match and you saw the suitech
in music, that was not for Shawn Michaels, that was
for James Storm's last Call finisher, which was.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Did Storm tune up?

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Like?

Speaker 3 (39:21):
Okay? I did not, so that part I did not know.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
Yes, now I don't. I don't know that if I
remember correctly, I don't think he did like the full
on Shawn Michael's bounce like he usually does. Storm did it,
but did it a little bit least. I think it
looked more like the James Storm finishing.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
When did you hear James Storm?

Speaker 2 (39:39):
I mean, it's been all over I see everything.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
I I'm not arguing at this point. Everything I saw
was Sean. I never saw James Storm. That's why I'm
asking where you saw that.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Yeah, they talked about it all busted open, all the
names were reported who they were moved for, so James
Storm was the intended person for the last call, and
then obviously on Seena side, we had the miss with
the skull crushing finale, we had Rusa with the accent.
The moment of the match, I almost brought a tear

(40:14):
in my eye, and no, it did.

Speaker 4 (40:15):
When I tell you Chrome, it brought a tear to
my eye. It sent chills down my spine.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
It did.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
It almost brought a tear to my eye. It was beautiful.
And then it was the follow up after John Cena
does an homage to bray Wyatt with the sister Abigail,
and then after the fact, everybody in the crowd, the fireflies.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
Come out and they died.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
I don't know. It looked like they dimmed the light,
the lighting on the crowd for that moment.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
I think when they realized what was going on, they
dimmed the lights down so you could fully get it,
so they could get the full picture. I think it
was one of those things where Triple Age saw went, uh, yeah,
do this turnal lights?

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Yeah, because it was amazing that you know, I've seen
it talked about a lot. John seen behind the scenes,
had an amazing relationship with bray Wyant. A relationship that
not many people know how close they were behind the scenes,
and you could see after he realized, hey, what he did,
and then seeing the fireflies, he looks up to the
crown to the sky and he goes like almost gives

(41:25):
a point to Yeah, amazing, beautiful moment, unbelievable moment. And
then obviously moving forward, then we got we got the
Randy Orton to oh he did all important.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
Yeah, he did the DDT and the RKO.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
And the beauty of it was he fit the character
like he did the whole like voices in his head thing,
and he did the bund and then he had the
look where he looks back and he gets the sinister
look for the punt. And obviously we didn't see the
actual punt, which you don't get that anymore, but beautiful moment.
There we get a chance for a six one nine. Now,

(42:07):
the one that's that has been talked about on two
different sides is I know the choke slam was undertaker ish,
but it's it's speculated that that was actually a homage
to three different people, Undertaker Kane and if you look
at the style that he did it when he did

(42:28):
the drop down Big Show.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
I could see I I didn't even think.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
About and then he dropped he would put him down,
So I am very curious if that is true. I
hope that one day John Cena clear clears all that up.
And then obviously to get to the end of the match,
we get the.

Speaker 6 (42:52):
Uh what what you thought he was going to flip
him up for the attitude adjustment or the fu He
ends up turning a j into a tombstone pile a
beautiful and he did an Undertaker style tombstone pile driver,
a slight jump up, drop.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
On the knees, and then beautifully done. Don't finish on that,
pick him up and put him and finish him with
your own move.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
And you did. You did forget the attempt at the pedigree,
which I think is going.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
And I did say the six one nine, right, yeah,
well you.

Speaker 4 (43:24):
Allude to a chant to a six one nine. So
I think the pedigree will be in the next couple matches,
and he won't hit it till the very yet, like
he'll try to hit it, try to hit it. I
don't think he hits it until the until final match
as a thank you for everything.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Maybe maybe I mean, I I think if you're gonna
do it. The way this match was orchestrated, it should
have just been this because going forward, I don't, I don't,
you're not gonna replicate the magic that was this. I
don't need him to know, but Johnny missed everybody, you know, the.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
Last few matches he has worked in in one or
two sure, right, So that's what I'm saying. Like I
could very well see on that final match at Saturday
its main event in December, him doing a actually hitting
up pedigree.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Maybe that might be the only one, only oma she.

Speaker 4 (44:14):
Does that night, but I definitely it was almost like, hey,
thank you for letting me do this.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
Yeah, I mean listen, I think like Sena has been
doing this the whole I mean, he himself did a
move for Christopher Daniels that nobody caught a couple of
weeks ago because Christopher Daniels trained John Cena, he was
part of.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
I did not know that.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Yeah, so he did the what's it fallen angel or
the Angels wings or ERTI well, the move that aj did.
John did it a few weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (44:48):
So is it called I think it's called Angel wings
because it's yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
Yeah, so John actually did it on raw or you
do it to Sammi it is the match with Sandy Johnson.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
Backdown.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Yeah it's back down so but yes, all right, So
I know it took a while, but we had to
kind of talk it all out and get it out
there for people didn't say we'll let you start this time,
any will work the other way around.

Speaker 4 (45:15):
The best match I've seen in a long long time.
That thing had me captivated from start to finish. I
it was early man, so like I wasn't expecting to
pop really for anything. I was gonna enjoy it, but

(45:37):
not like lose my mind over anything. Everything. I just
I popped for everything. I think I popped more for
the bray Wyatt thing than I did for the AJA intro,
which I love that that was such a well done I.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
Was really glad that I was.

Speaker 4 (45:55):
I think part of me was hoping that he would
get something like that from John after announcing his retirement
the night before. I'm really glad that we did get it.
But that bray Wyre thing was like there was a
voice in my head that said, okay, and the match,
we're done here, go home. There ain't no top in
this moment. Easily and I think I said it to

(46:17):
you guys in our chat. Easily probably top five or
top three of all time for me.

Speaker 3 (46:24):
Now that's a rewatchable match for me.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
I would say these last four appearances have a lot
to live up to if this is, uh, this is
what they have to you know, go through? No kidding, Yeah,
Like that's like I almost would like this to be
the last match. It's kind of like, how much more

(46:49):
can you do? How can you top that?

Speaker 2 (46:51):
But Dave Leo Greca and Busted Open said exactly that, Eric,
He said, this was the last match, and you got
this on Saturday Night's main event, nobody would have complained
about it.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
No, Yeah, it's you know, it's a lot to it's
a lot to live up to, the especially especially that
last one. And uh, I can't say enough good things
about it. I was. I watched it in Pieces Crown Jewel,
so I watched the first two matches early live, and

(47:22):
then I watched the scene of match later on, and
I had to stay off my phone because I didn't
want to get spoiled like some people do. Poor guy
over here, But uh, it was just I yeah, that's
all I can say. As Wow, it was it was incredible.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah, I mean, listen for me, there are moments where
you watch certain matches and the instant that that match
is over, you want to go back and watch it again,
and then it's over, and then you want to go
back and watch it again. And then next day you
wake up and you're like, I want to go back

(48:02):
and watch it again. I have watched that match five times.
I was even including yesterday, knowing we were going to
talk about it, knowing all the dedications that we're in it.
I said, it doesn't even get old to me. I
need to go back and I need to watch it again.
There aren't a handful of matches in my lifetime that
I have been able to sit there and say, I'm

(48:24):
gonna go back and watch it again and again and again.
I've probably watched Shawn Michael's Undertaker from WrestleMania twenty five
one hundred times.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
It is.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
It's a rewatchable bet.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
It's my favorite match of all time. Really, that is
my hands down, my favorite match of all time. You know,
Helen Issel, Undertaker and Mankind. I think falls into that
as something that I just I mean, the matches.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
But.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
How old now it's it'll be. I think next year's
twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
Is it thirty?

Speaker 4 (49:03):
Yeah, yeah, because it was it was nineties, it was ninety.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
Eight, all right, so we're twenty seven years so it's
twenty seven years old. And I watch it and I
still see certain moments in that and I get whose
pumps as it's the first time I've watched I don't
remember when it was live, but a match I've been
able to watch my entire life over and over Savage

(49:28):
and Steamboat. It's just it's an incredible match, and I
and I and this this folds into that. That fold
for me, it's I.

Speaker 1 (49:38):
Love Rock Hogan.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
I love Rock Hogan, and that's Hogan rock and Ogan
Rocking Hogan is another one. I mean, obviously we did
a show about it. All passed away this year. What
do you think the first thing I went back and
watched was Rock It wasn't Yeah, it wasn't Hogan Andre,
it wasn't Hogan Warrior, which all one Hogan Savage, who

(50:00):
that's my I mean, Savage is my guy. You guys
know that. And they've had classic Rocke Hogan was the matchup.
So that's probably honestly my top five And if I
was to rank those five, I would go Undertaker shown
Rock Hogan. I might make this number three.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
It's a solid three, you know.

Speaker 4 (50:24):
And you're on this something there when you talk about
rewatchable matches and you know, I don't have the attention
span to rewatch some matches because I still know I
know what happens, right. This is one that I can
very easily say when it's gonna be one of those
things where it's like, man, I want to watch them
wrestling just randomly on like a Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
This is a match that I'm gonna go find and
I'm gonna put on, you know.

Speaker 4 (50:45):
And it was only a twenty seven minute match, but
it felt like they were on for an hour, which
is how good it was and how captivating it was,
and how they just drew you in and they held
you there and you want to go back.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
I can watch it over and over and over and over.

Speaker 4 (51:03):
You know. Great list by the way, too, for you grow.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
I think an honorable mention, honestly, and this is also
a credit to WWE. I think that Roman and Cody
from last year might fall into six for me. And
then to John Cena's credit, I think him and Cody
from Summersline this year is very close to being on
that list. The story told in that match, I mean,

(51:29):
he you only get maybe three or four matches in
a decade that you really say, I could go back
and watch that match one hundred times. And if I
was to define a decade for somebody, someone who didn't
watch wrestling twenty years from now in twenty and twenties

(51:49):
and says, pick out three matches for me as of
right now, those three matches I think could be a
definition of this decade.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Real quick, I want to give a shout out to
the all see crowd how amazing they were, and not
just a crown jewel on Raw like they and on SmackDown.
I mean, how many matches have we seen and where
the crowds is dead?

Speaker 4 (52:16):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
Go keep going.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
No, No, I think you know they they ate it,
they ate it up, but they also played along and
and they were smart. So I think you know, you
got to give the crowd credit for for that magic
as well, because it's that's a big part of it.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
I love the analogy that's been thrown out there, and
real quick Dynasty says Rumble ninety two, is that for
I can watch that match a line. Yeah, of all rumbles,
of all rumbles, that's that's in my top one or two.
You know what. My off beat one is real quick?

Speaker 3 (52:53):
Which one is the one where Vince tears the squads?

Speaker 2 (52:56):
No, that's a funny one. I don't know why, but
I love the ninety nine. I love the ninety nine. Really,
it's just so like Attitude Era, filled with every type
of wrestler. That is that the one that's the one
where Vince wins?

Speaker 4 (53:15):
No, no, no, no, no?

Speaker 2 (53:16):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (53:16):
It's either that year, it's the year after orst Austin's
looking at looking at his watch, waiting for someone to
come down.

Speaker 1 (53:23):
And that's the one.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
Is that nineties? Okay okay, okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
That's when Brett comes out and he does the hands
on the head I see.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
I don't remember who comes out. I just and that
thinks you the moment.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
That's the one where he throws Brett throws him out
and the refs don't see it and he slides back
into the ring, gets rid of.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
Brettney went it's his first of three.

Speaker 5 (53:46):
Yeah, that that one's that ninety We could do a
whole show. It's been a while is going to be
coming up. So we when we do a whole show
on favorite matches in general.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Oh gosh ya oh I we should do that.

Speaker 4 (54:00):
We should do we should we haven't done. We haven't
done it in a while. But I think, you know,
to go back to what Eric was talking about, the
and I think we did a show on this. But
the over or at least I think I did. The
overseas crowds are undefeated. They are just they're because they
don't get to see it every week like American crowds do, right,

(54:23):
so they are always on par with everything going on,
and there's something like there.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
I love crowd moments.

Speaker 4 (54:32):
I love good crowd moments, and Perth delivered this weekend
very very much. So I almost expected them to though, right,
But they especially with the bray White, I think I
think that by far makes them one of the one
of the best crowds in a long time, other than
the France crowd from Clash in Paris a few years

(54:55):
ago or Backlash I think it was.

Speaker 3 (54:59):
But you know, to Ajay and John as well, it
hit me watching that match and Chrome you're both a
little bit older than I am.

Speaker 4 (55:11):
I watched both of these two guys I watched their
career start. There's very few people that I can say
I watched their career start and now here we are
in my lifetime and I'm getting ready to watch them end.
And they were long, meaningful, fulfilling careers. They're probably two
of the biggest names that I can say, Hey, I

(55:32):
saw their career start and I'm getting to.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
See it end.

Speaker 4 (55:35):
They're my It's like it's a Hogan. It's like it's
a rock you know, and it's it's surreal to think
about that, Like this time of wrestling is getting ready
to be over.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
Yeah, It's like it's like it wasn't that long ago
where WrestleMania twenty eight was around and that was an
end of an era match right when you saw Undertaker
versus you know what I mean. And now, yeah, now
we're the next generation. It's the end of that year. So,
like it is kind of crazy, how things real quick?
Since we mentioned it, we talked about the dedication during

(56:10):
the match. I do want to acknowledge that this day
three years ago was the Bray Wyatt promo that almost
iconically has become a living eulogy for himself.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
Was it really.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
Three years ago today where he says, you know, you
were there when I was weak, when I was vulnerable,
when I was down. So I just wanted to say
thank you. You all saved my life.

Speaker 3 (56:34):
That was that was on SmackDown, wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
Yeah, so it was SmackDown. So I just wanted to
make sure we acknowledge that obviously we are.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
That's another heavy moment.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
Yeah, so you know, beautiful moment there. And I'm glad
that he got his flowers from John Cena and aj
Styles in this match. So yeah. Also a little unknown
fact eight years ago today, thank you Facebook's when I
agreed to join a two D radio. How about that

(57:08):
my eight year anniversary is an official at D radio member,
so staffer so to speak. So anyway, yeah, it's my anniversary.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
What do you want to a trophy?

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Yeah, give me my trophy. Where's that belt I used
to win all the time?

Speaker 3 (57:25):
Ah ah to the downstairs?

Speaker 2 (57:31):
John jumps in here, I'm sorry, Dynasty jumps in. He says,
in no particular order, Rock Hogan ninety two, Rumble punkin Sina.
I'm assuming the one from my Nicago HBK Taker their
first hell and is so another great one and Joe
necro is it for me? I don't know. I don't

(57:55):
think I saw him chat. I know I know what
he's to necro In the Butcher. I don't even know
that match, to be honest with you. So but hey,
that's your list. It's beautiful for you, man, it's always
good to hear. And anybody else wants out out there,
wants to drop in there list. I love to say,
no shit, yeah, yeah, shit, Dynasty, it's true, he's old,

(58:18):
it's true.

Speaker 3 (58:19):
Wait a minute, years.

Speaker 1 (58:22):
Yeah, twenty seventeen.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
You've always been off by a year every time you
tell me how long you get here, because you joined.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
A year after me, I feel like it was a
lot longer. Okay, eight years.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
I got a documentary.

Speaker 4 (58:37):
But see, I think where I get confused is because
I did that article for Mattiaki for WrestleMania thirty three. Oh,
and that kind of is what opened the door. Sure,
but it would be a while before I actually started
doing shows.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, think you started about a year
after me. But anyway, good stuff. Let's get so. Yeah,
this match beautiful And by the way, fuck Dave Meltzer
and his three point seventy five rating on.

Speaker 4 (59:02):
That he gave it a three seven.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
It wasn't in the Tokyo Dome.

Speaker 3 (59:07):
What a douchebag.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
So and and and and in the words of the
Great Dave Logreca, at least in this this instance, the
Great Dave lagre And I like Dave. By the way,
I think it busted open is a tremendous show. Dave
Logreca said. One of his viewers sent him, sent them
a comment, and he's co signs on it, and Baron
Corbin double co signed, and I triple co sign on it.

(59:33):
And his comment said, if you're a wrestling fan and
you complained about this match, or you didn't like this match,
go fuck yourself.

Speaker 4 (59:42):
Here here.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
If you criticize, there's something wrong with you. So yeah,
I mean there's nothing honestly, Meltzer, we don't even need
him to put a rating in on anything.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Meltzer should retire and go away.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
But if he's if you're going to if you're going
to rate it, the.

Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
Fact that like, like I want to know what you
had a problem with.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
I honestly need to know what a problem is, Like I.

Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Would have met and yes, I should have been it
should have been twenty two minutes instead it was twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
Like, I don't follow Meltzer like I used to because
I've realized how much of a jackass he is, But
I really want to go and ask him, why on
God's green earth you thought this was a three seven five.

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
So I really used to like Meltzer and until I
realized and this is kind of the blessing. Well, this
is kind of the blessing of AAW coming around, because
I didn't really read a lot of his NJPW stuff
to know like that everything basically is a five point
zero over there in the Tokyo Dome. But having heard after,

(01:00:54):
especially when AAW came around, how his personal is shoes
with w W and not being welcome in the buildings
and this and that kind of did effect, like clearly
with him in denial that it affected his views on things.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
I think it still does clearly very salty.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
To not to look at this match. If if you
are unbiased to anything, if you're not salty, if you're
not having an agenda, at the very least you can
look at this match and say maybe a four point
CENTI five. Listen, I saw it. There was one spot
in the very beginning of the match that looked a
little bit awkward where seeing it kind of bent over

(01:01:38):
early on something, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
Yeah, I got I was like, what the hell just happened?
You were mid sentence somebody saying no, I know that. No,
I was done. That was my sentence.

Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
But all right, so you want to you want to
whine complain about seen a mistiming something.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
I can't get behind that, right, No one's perfect. This
match was.

Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
This was a love letter to those that got them
to where they were. This was a love letter to
wrestling fans. This is a love letter to the industry.
And it wasn't just from John and aj. I think
it was the one time where all wrestling fans across
the board were able to just sit down and go,
that's good wrestling.

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
By the way. How can we forget to reference the
Walls of Jericho.

Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
By the way? Oh yeah, no, no, no, don't say
we you you decided to run through the whole list.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
I said, did I get through everything? And you said yeah,
so you're supposed to be the backup and your jackass
didn't follow up on it either.

Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
Yeah, well I wasn't prepared. Bite.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
We're all in this boat together. No, and and yeah,
you're right, it is a love letter to everything, and
like is that the criticism wasn't the perfect Wolves of Jericho?

Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
And I'll argue it was the Walls of Jericho. It
was a lion Tamer.

Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
Well technically it was. That's what it was supposed to be,
because I think Cole just called the move the wrong way, right,
because he said, oh, it's not a Boston crab, it's
the walls of Jericho.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
But no, well he said break the walls down. And
then Barrett is the one that called it the walls
of Jericho.

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Well, I don't think he was when he said break
the walls down. I don't think that was to call
that move that. I think that was in making a
Jericho reference and saying, oh yeah, break.

Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
The walls down. Well, yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
He was referencing it without saying Jericho because Jericho's played
bow way. Barrett clearly showed us he did not give.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
A damn Well, they eventually did say why to J.
I think Cole said it, Oh okay, yeah, he did
reference why to J after the comment about the Walls
of Jericho.

Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
I know earlier we talked about moves that we want
to see that we may have not seen in this match.
Surprised me to get an angle slam?

Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Really, didn't he?

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
I guess, Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
Guess because they both have history with Kurt.

Speaker 4 (01:04:07):
And that was didn't he didn't see it do an
angle slam a few weeks ago. I'm ninety certain he
hit somebody with an angle like.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
He might have already did the angle fine fine, which
I mean in terms of if you're if you, if you,
But that's that's so that again, too, is kind of
one of those reasons why I look at it and
it's like, like, I don't know that this was always

(01:04:38):
the intention for what this match was going to be.
I think they said, we're gonna give these guys. We're
gonna give you guys this match. Make it whatever you
want it to be, because then I don't think maybe
Sena wouldn't have wasted the angle slam a couple of
weeks ago. He would have used it in this match
to pay homage to the first guy who really gave
him an opportunity out there.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Right, Well, let's see an ankle locker. Did you that one?
Or did he do that already?

Speaker 4 (01:05:01):
He might have and this is one of those things
where when you look at this match, and we said
it last week too, right when we were previewing this show,
we won. We absolutely they went out there and they
delivered great wrestling. It didn't matter if Sena one, It
didn't matter if AJ one. They could have both been
counted out for all I gave it, damn because the

(01:05:24):
match was really, really good and it was there's no
there's no payoff after it. It was just a match
because the fans asked for it. It was truly what
it was, and so they gave them free ready to
go out there, and it's very evident in what they
did move.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Was yeah, and I think you know, at the end
of the day, what we talked about over the last
few weeks kind of came to fruition, and that was
this is a match that needed no built They would
these two would be able to get into the ring,
and I mean they told story we didn't even see coming.

(01:06:03):
And at the end of the day, a loss isn't
going to hurt aj styles in this match, it didn't
matter who I honestly, if Sina would have lost this match,
it would not have lost a bit of the luster
that was on it. It was so incredible. Yay, actually
kind of hated to see either lose, but you didn't
want to see a Schmaz. We talked about we don't
want Brock getting involved, we don't want this person, and

(01:06:23):
they gave us that. They just let this be a
beautiful story in and of its own. And I am
very grateful that we got to see this match and
have this match, and we're gonna have it for generations. Boys,
because again, this is falling into that I can go
back and watch this anytime and it's never gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
I'm wondering if this match will be featured on an unreal.

Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
I hope so I could screw your unreal.

Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
I want a full, like feature length film about this
damn match.

Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Well, I'm curious if they are going to do a
full documentary allow the old twenty fours that they used
to do. I think yeah, And about the entire scene
of Final Run.

Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
You guys would know this a little bit more than
I would. But would it be really off base to
say they've been fippering for a thirty for thirty for
John's career.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
I could see it absolutely, particularly now with the partnership
with ESPN. I could absolutely say that final grades.

Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
I'm sorry, is just the fact that these mainstreams, I
think it would just be it be a home run.
It would be a no brainer to not consider it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
So as far as the rest of the card goes,
obviously we referenced it earlier. Bronson Reid gets the win
over Roman in a tremendous match, and then we had
Stephanie Valcare over Tiffany who. I think this was Tiffany's
best match I've seen with anyone. Yep, I think this

(01:08:06):
match delivered. I think Stephanie proved why she's one of
the best in the world. The right person won this match.
And then we saw a little bit of a surprise
to me. We saw EO and Weea go over the
Kobookie Warriors, which was fine. I mean, I really didn't
care when it's match either way.

Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
I felt bad for I felt bad for them because
they came on after John and AJ and the crowd.

Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
They tried so hard, but they so exhausted for this match.

Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Yeah, it was it was a tough spot to be in,
but I think they did their best. They made the
best and then obviously the main event. We referenced it
earlier Seth Rollins defeats Cody Rhoades first time ever and
I thought a really good, high quality match. He defeats Cody,
he becomes the Crown Jewel Champion uh in his first win,

(01:08:58):
which obviously we saw on that catapulted the next day. Now, oh,
here we go. This one's for you, Andy, what's up?
Don don two days?

Speaker 3 (01:09:11):
Tell my guy Butters we miss him?

Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Yeah, So final grades on the show. There's any other
moments you really want to highlight? I don't. I don't.
I think we we we hit the big home runs
with this. But if there's anything else you want to
highlight or just give a final grade.

Speaker 3 (01:09:31):
On on this, I'm gonna go. I'll jump in Eric,
you do that, I'm gonna go with A with a
solid A here again.

Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
I felt bad for the tag match. I myself was
was exhausted, so I wasn't fully invested in the women's
tag the way. It was a good match, right, but
I I think it was just very hard to after
coming off of that. I I think it was just
really hard to still stay focused. So I'm gonna go
solid A. I can't really nit pick the show a

(01:10:07):
whole lot. The right people won for the right stories,
and we saw awesome wrestling across the board.

Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
Yeah, I agree. I'm just gonna say a minus just
because I don't know a little different, but uh, A
minus just because A minus. Uh. I think you know,
we talked about things not you know, losses, not affecting people.

(01:10:36):
I think that you can say that with Roman. Roman
didn't need to win that match. It doesn't hurt him,
It catapults Bronson. And the tag match was good, the
women's tag, and they're furthering the story continuing that on
as we saw on Monday, so that that continues. Yeah,

(01:10:59):
A minus.

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
Yeah, listen, I'm giving in an A. I don't care
if anybody else did or not. I'm going to give
the same grade the end of the day. Here's the deal.
There was not a bad match on this card. All
of the results worked out really really well. The one
match that didn't go the way I thought it would
go was kind of a toss up anyway, and in

(01:11:22):
terms of the creative that came out of it, the
beauty of what came out of it. And then I'm
even going to go back and I'm going to jump
back to Wrestle Polooza, right We were critical of Wrestle
Plus in some ways because of the fact that we
felt like, this is your big, your big moment on ESPN,
and I do feel like WWE was backed into a

(01:11:43):
corner to jump into this and get it going a
lot quicker than they find So they put a show
out there they did, I think, what they could the
best that they could in that moment, and they knew
coming out of this with enough time to prepare, with
enough creative ahead of time to be able to get
it to where they wanted to get it. They were
able to show the ESPN executives and audience what they

(01:12:07):
were what they could do, and I thought it was
really really a huge bounce back from Russell Paloza.

Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
So good on them.

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Great show, and we're gonna see what comes out of it.
Our final topic of the evening and here we go
asks a look at that they keep individual.

Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
Look Eric, you're new here, so let let me explain
some things to don to you about Don Don here.
My friend likes to poke the bear with dumb ship
and that's all.

Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
Bear.

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Well, my experience is different. What Don Don does is
he comes in at the end of the show and
asks about stuff you talked about forty minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
Oh no, that also happens too, that's what Don done. Yeah,
don Don jumps in and it's like, hey, I know
I'm forty five minutes played, but can we go back
to the beginning.

Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
Listen, Don Don, I'm gonna make it simple for you.
I don't think any of us believe that that is
a good idea.

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
No, no, no, this guy does this guy.

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
Well, let's not put let's not created now. He didn't
say that. He asked if it's a realistic way. We
laughed at.

Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
I don't think he believed in.

Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
That shut out to me, I don't get buttered on anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
I miss butters.

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
He whispers. Remember he's a whisperer. He whispers in the ear.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
He's a whisper, a whisperer.

Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
He has that car.

Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
He's the beast whisper.

Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
I quit.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
Thank you, Don Don. You're amazing, buddy. We appreciate it always.
Obviously there's jump into our last topic here, and it
was something we were fortunate enough to have him on here.
A couple like the day or two after it was
announced the Team three D would take on the Heartys
for a final time at TNA Down for Glory, which

(01:14:09):
was a really good show. By the way, if anybody
hasn't watched, Mike santowna the new TNA World Champion, beats
Trick Williams Trick and a uh so good on him.
I'm very excited for Mike Santown and well deserved. He's
an amazing talent. But we really just wanted to key
in on this something that we were the beneficiaries of
being able to be on and were covered by sites

(01:14:31):
like flight full in our conversation with him, this being
Devon's final match, and if you haven't seen it, can
go back into our archives and see our interview with
Devon where he talks about the announcement of this and
his injury history and his ability to come out. And
I don't know if either of you guys saw the
match or if you just read it and saw highlights,
but I thought this match was really great for what

(01:14:55):
it was, what it was supposed to be, right it was.
This was a one finals table match, one final tables
match between the Hardy's and Dudley's for the NXT and
TNA Tag Team titles. They both came out Spike Dudley
made a cameo coming out with the Dudleys, which is great,
and then the Dudleys wore they came out to their

(01:15:17):
team three D Music and Tron Graphics, but they wore
their WWE gear that they wore when they came back
in twenty fifteen. And Spike then came out and as
a surprise after when Bubba went like this and he's
the one that kind of put the glasses on them,
they come out. Devon goes to his son in the crowd,

(01:15:39):
gives his son his glasses almost Allah Brett Hart with
the shades, and they the Hardys come out huge. Pop
Party Pop is like still a thing, man, and they
have these amazing intros. They get in. They match starts
and right away they go right at it. The spot fest,
you get a three D puts Jeff Party through a table.

(01:16:02):
So the winner of this you have to put both
team evers through a table. So now they just have
to put back through. So we'll just hit the highlights
of this. They brawl, they hit their greatest hits types
of moves, and then Jeff does the move that he
did in the first Tables, Ladders and Chairs match where

(01:16:22):
he jumps off of the top of the ladder on
the outside, putting Divon through which in this they set
up two tables side by side, and he primarily lands
on the first table to not absolutely destroy Devon. I
think that was calculated, I mean, health wise. I don't

(01:16:42):
know if Devon could take that hit anymore. I don't either,
but it looked amazing any regardless, he still landed partially
on top of him, puts them both through a table,
takes him out, and then you know, they have the
thing in the ring, Diva. It's it's Bubba Ray versus both.
We get to the point where we almost get the
Bretons or the Rick and Sean moment where or Bubba

(01:17:07):
knows he's done and he kind of just turns around
and they both have a chair and they throw the
chair away to give him what's been talked about is
like like a soldier's death. And they get rid of
the chairs and they put him down without you know,
using weapons, put him through the table. Match over amazing moment.

(01:17:28):
At the end of the match, they do a face
to face. They're standing there, the Dudley State unlace their
boots in the ring and their boots to the Hardys,
they all have their moment together and then.

Speaker 4 (01:17:40):
I So I didn't watch the match. That was kind
of on my list of things to do this week
was to watch the clips and everything. But I heard
the moment at the end that you were just describing
where they throw the chairs down and the soldier death.
I heard. Initially it came off as a little awkward
and it changed up the pace seem a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
It did. It was a little weird at first. Okay,
I think they waited, so I I got what they.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Were going for, but I felt like maybe they waited
just slightly too long. Like Bubba got up real slow
and he kind of was like he was just standing
there just like he was looking at him like this.
I felt like they could have had him just kind
of pop up and I would have did it in

(01:18:30):
like true Dudley for him flip them both off or
something yea and be like something instead of doing like
the you know, I'm sorry, I love you, do the
do it now, something like that, come on, I'm ready
for it, and then flip them all for something to
just say I'm ready for it, come on, do it

(01:18:51):
and then do it. But it was weird because he
just kind of stood there and he was like, and
I get.

Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
They were trying to be be dramatic at the end
and of symboling, you know, the end, but uh, I agree,
it was kind of just like it was kind of
slow motion and just kind of just you know, it
could have could have went a little differently, but I mean,
it's those guys. Are those guys are up there in
age like you can't you can't ask for much better

(01:19:18):
than you know, what they what they put out there. Uh.
And I forgot, Uh Spike was called Brother Run and
oh yeah, didn't realize that until it came out. I
was like, oh, that's right, he was Brother Run.

Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
Well, yeah, I think this is one of those matches
where they was these guys could have gone out and
done anything right.

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
It was the people.

Speaker 4 (01:19:41):
It was a good by, a true goodbye for the Dudleys,
which I don't think they got on their terms clearly,
because if we had we did this, it was the
hardy still kind of showcasing that they can still go,
but paying homage to the Dudley's. The only thing that
would have made this better was having edgend Christian. I think,
in my opinion, yeah, yeah, and obviously that wasn't gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
Interesting thing about bamfortable Worrito, we're talking about the Dudley's.
I found it extremely interesting that Bubba does the whole
LFG thing and how many of them are on there.

(01:20:31):
I'm trying to.

Speaker 1 (01:20:31):
See how many panelists or how many contestants.

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Yeah, I might have to retract my statement on this one. Yeah,
I digress on that there was something with where I
saw that he was involved in recently, and it was
like a couple of the people that we're on his
team in LFG, and oh and I'm right now.

Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
Here we go, there we go. Oh Jesus Chrome getting.

Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
A dark State makes an appearance on this show.

Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
And if you're an LFG fan, the irony of Cutler
James making an appearance on the show and having been
on Bubba's team in LFG and having basically been cut
by him and then he's the first one to appear

(01:21:36):
on a major companies show with him, I just felt
it very ironic.

Speaker 4 (01:21:43):
So I just recently probed in the last month, got
uh YouTube TV? Is this worth going back LFG? Is
it worth going back and watching?

Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
I enjoy LFG both seasons. It's and And the thing
is they are utilizing the talent that you see in there,
whether they're on like they they're contracted and on the show,
or some of them you've seen in some of the
backstage segments where they play an extra. So yes, I

(01:22:13):
would say one day, okay, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:22:17):
Yeah, I haven't. I haven't watched it either. It was
kind of one of those things that looked appealing, just
never got into it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
Yeah, I mean I I I have I have not
finished this season. I have four episodes left of this season.

Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
Are you caught up on anything?

Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
All the Gordon Ramsay shows I watch?

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
That's my guy, That's my guy.

Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
They're tremendous. Martian. What's up, buddy? He jumps in, he says,
the vision, The.

Speaker 1 (01:22:49):
Hell have you been?

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
He pops in on our show.

Speaker 3 (01:22:53):
He's usually pretty on time.

Speaker 1 (01:22:57):
You know, we have a new name for that group.
It's gonna be the Spurs, the Whispers.

Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
This is not gonna get out. This is just as
bad as drafting to Mina at number thirteen.

Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
Who meana in Tomina?

Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
I gotta put I gotta put Eric and Butters on
the show together.

Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
I I I miss having Butters in the worst way.
He's a sweet but my god, is there anybody that
I train rolled through more on the show than Butters
he is, he's a wild man. He's got interesting Eric,

(01:23:47):
He's got he's got an interesting view on professional Messa.
You love him.

Speaker 1 (01:23:52):
Eric.

Speaker 4 (01:23:52):
This is the same man that said a few years
ago for the Royal Rumble that the ring would collapse
right before number thirty would come out, so everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
And he told it was a great idea of the
best things that slice bread, I mean would see that,
which He's not wrong. Who would see it coming number with?

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
Oh my god?

Speaker 1 (01:24:20):
Uh, it's taking a turn.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Taking a turn? Anything else for the cause today?

Speaker 3 (01:24:25):
Boys, No, I'm I'm I'm so square. It's not I'm good.

Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
Yeah. This was a great show.

Speaker 1 (01:24:31):
Yeah, very good.

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
Like I said, lots of toilets, other things we could
have talked about.

Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
I just could.

Speaker 2 (01:24:37):
By the way, last thing to give them their flowers.
Bound for Glory was a really good show. And I
will say this if you want to see I mean,
Leon Slater is such an amazing, amazing talent and I'm
telling you that match delivered. That match was incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:25:00):
The only thing that I'm hearing bad about it was
people didn't like that there wasn't a clean finish.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
Well that's the point. But I'm telling you, even without
a clean finish, the moves that Javon Evans and Leon
Slater did, they are the future of professional wrestling. Imagine
Jeff Hardy versus Jeff Hardy in his absolute prime. And

(01:25:25):
I mean it was but to the next level. I'm
telling you, even with a non finish, and you know
I would say this, it is worth watch the watch
without the finish, that's how incredible it was. But guys,
great show today and our comment section really active. Thank

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
