one Nick. Right, Yeah, yeah, I got something amazing. I
did not even I love I love that.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
If I get five limit and they're all in the
same room with me, we're going at it at one
hundred and tenth m There you go.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I gotta love Ken Shamrock Man, that's what I was saying.
I mute. I just he was barking, of course, right
right as I hit go. Welcome in Everybody Lazy Booking
podcast live on a two D radio. I'm your host
Chrome with my co host the man right here there there,
Eric Archer.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
What's what's happened to my friend? Happy Tuesday? Happy? Uh
happy almost midweek to everybody. Hope everybody's having a good week.
And uh let's talk some uh talk some wrestling.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, man, lots to talk about. Lots of big things
happened over the last couple of days, including a big
announcement today, so we're very excited to dive into that.
But first and foremost, let's show a little bit of
love to our doctor, doctor Paul Laidellik Specialized Physical Therapy
physical locations in Burlington and Cherry On, New Jersey. Can
find him on the web Specialized Physicotherapy dot com and

(01:39):

that you have that have come along, please contact his
award winning team and they will get you on a
path to get you in a better place for a
better quality of life. Yeah, Man, big announcement today by
w WE. We've talked about it kind of sparingly, but

(02:02):
the confirmation did come in today. The December thirteenth of
this year will be the final match of John Cena's
career at Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington, DC. So
this seemed to be a pretty big topic of conversation today, Eric,
and that's where we're going to open up with obviously,

(02:23):
with our topic brought to you by Specialized Physical Therapy.
Rock Lesnar will be John Cena's final opponent at WWE
Saturday Night's Main Event. Agree or disagree, So if you're
here on Facebook, if you're on YouTube, if you're on
ex Twitter, wherever you're at, please comment in, throw us alike,
throw us a subscribe, share it out, and I want

(02:44):
you most importantly, we want you guys to comment and
join our conversation. You'll see your comments pop up one here.
We'll do our best to interact with as many as
we possibly can. But in the meantime, let's kick it off. Eric.
You kind of see how the cards have been yan,
but let's get your opinion his Brock. The guy doesn't

(03:05):
have to be Brock at this point.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I don't think necessarily it has to be Brock, but
the way they've been setting it up and kind of
alluded to it last week, how I was not agreeing
with the whole squash scenario at Russell Palooza. But if
that's the direction they're going, it makes sense. I think
it's the guy that he has. He has defeated brock Lessner,

(03:30):
but he hasn't really dominated him or finished finished the
chapter UH in their in their long illustrious story. So
and it kind of just got the dust, kind of
came off of it a little bit at UH in
this last go around on the on the retirement tour.
So I do think it's going to be his last match.

(03:52):
I think it's a way to end it with somebody
that he has not been able to conquer and an
opportunity to do that in his final match.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, I think for all the reasons we kind of
touched on last week. I think obviously we had our
differences in how everything went down at Wressell Palooza, and
I think for me to justify it, I felt like
that this was the direction they needed to and we're going. So, yes,
I do think it's going to be brock Lesner. I

(04:27):
do agree to the poll. However, I'd be interested to
see or hear from yourself and from our viewers out there,
who you would like to see as John Cena's final
opponent as and and let's make it realistic, because obviously
there was a whole big thing about Edge's contract coming up.

(04:47):
Guess what I would have loved to have seen that.
I'm not gonna lie, but they kind of put the
cabation on that, so we know that's not going to happen.
So something realistic. Who would you like to see be
John Cena's final opponent? And who do you think it's
going to be. We would love to have all that.
We already have Dynasty chiming in here. What's up? Dynasty?
Disagree to the poll, still holding on to the career

(05:10):
killer gimmick for Gunther. I mean maybe maybe I was
on that boat, but I was going to jump in
on this one too. I think that that may have
been the original pencil plan before they knew they were
going to get brought back. I don't know at this
point if there's enough time to build it. Plus, I

(05:32):
kind of feel like with Gunther being gone for the
most part, we might finally be getting that face turn
that I've been waiting to get the last six months.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Not only that because I agree with what you're saying
with the face turn, but I think this is a
great segue to get Gunther in the ring with brock Lesner,
and I could see that being a program for a WrestleMania,
particularly this year or next year. So it's a good

(06:01):
way to introduce that if you want to, if you
want to hold on right now. And he's got one,
he's got so he's got the one date at MSG,
he's got Boston, and he's got Perth, and then he's
got Saturday's main event, the last one that those that's.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
It, right, that's all matches correct.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I believe. I believe so the series too. Yeah, So
I think he's got five I think he's got five
five dates left and four matches something like that. But
either way, I think there are definitely some dream matches.
We're getting the AJ styles one, which is which is awesome.
I'm really excited for that. And I like how AJ

(06:49):
alluded to it a little bit last night. Didn't have
to do a whole lot. He just said he had.
He wanted to go beat up John Cena and that's
all he needed. It's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
We talked about this last week, Eric, right, the whole
you know, did they do enough to build it?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
And they don't need it. They don't need to build it.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
It doesn't need it. The history is there A come
in and really do it as a face, coming in
and basically saying this matchup is happening because of you,
and now I get to do one of my favorite things.
And he stays quiet for a second, and the crowd
starts to get ramped up because they remember what it was.
They know what's coming. There's beat up John Cena. It

(07:27):
was all it needed to be.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, and the fans respect both both of these guys,
and I would expect a lot of chance in Perth
for both both John Cena and AJ styles. It's gonna
be UH, It's gonna be epic. I think A J
is kind of alluding to retirement as well, So this
is a great opportunity for him, probably in one and

(07:54):
I would put this match last. I'm hoping that this
will be the last matchup the of the card. It should,
it should close it out. It it might, it might not.
But if if I were booking, I would have this last.
I think the crowd is gonna be absolutely electric, and
I wouldn't want anybody to have to come out and
top what they're gonna do in this match. I think

(08:17):
this is a perfect match for for the UH, for
the live crowd, and for the for the audience watching
on ESPN and UH and Netflix internationally to get this
and to have the crowd put all their energy and
and and show what they've got. But I think it's
a great opportunity for both to UH to let it all,

(08:40):
let it all out, and we should see another classic.
I'm really looking forward to it. But going back to
the the last opponent, I know there's a lot of
people that I've kind of seen online where people want
to see him put over a younger talent or have
him in the ring with a younger talent at least
is somebody like a dominic mysteriou I've even seen Obafemi

(09:02):
since he just lost the NXT title. Maybe bring him
up to have a match on Raw or but I
don't think those are what you would have a last
match with one of those talents. I think brock Lesner,
based on what we've seen as far as this, uh,
the the match at Russell Palooza, I think that is

(09:24):
kind of where I'm sitting. As far as who I
think is going to be going to be his final opponent,
I just don't see there. Like to your point, Chrome,
there's not a whole lot of time to build something new.
Only got a little bit of time left, and he's
got a very limited amount of appearances. As as we've talked.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
About, Yeah, I think it's got to be something either
with a history that is existing, which is kind of
where we've started to see the back end of this
thing go, or something that doesn't need to build, just
a match that just is in undeniable dream match, right.

(10:02):
I don't know if there's anybody young on the card
that we haven't seen obviously, I would I would love
to see a Dominsterio match. I do think there's a
chance that we still get a Dombasterio match before the
end of this. But you know, even the sam He's
am like, they did the full circle back now John Cena,
who did the Open Challenge for Sammy, they were able

(10:23):
to close that circle and have him be a part
of the of the reigniting of the US Challenge that
he started, right, So I just I don't know that
I see any kind of a new opponent creeping out
from from you know, out out of the attic or
anything like that. And I'm okay with that. Listen.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
I think.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I think John goes over against Brock and I think
the story has built to that, and you know the
whole even last week where everybody said why would they
open the show on ESPN, Well, I think it is
pretty clear that when you're kicking off the ESPN Era,
they wanted John Cena to be featured in the first
match that was on the ESPN as a part of

(11:06):
this deal. But I do think that there is a
lot of excitement that's going to continue to come to this.
I'm a little disappointed, not with him at all or WWA.
I just was hoping we'd squeeze every drop out of
this and we would get him right up until the
end of the month, but clearly not. There's no really

(11:27):
major shows, and you know they're not going to do
it like a random role or anything like that. So
this is about as close as it's going to get
unless they were going to cut him in Survivor Series,
which I don't think they were going to do it.
But I agree with you. I think we're starting to
approach the point in this now where John Cena should
be headlining anything that he's in. So I was cool

(11:49):
with him opening the ESPN Era, but I think it's
this point, this time now where he needs to be
the closer of everything.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I agree. I agree, And like we said last week
Survivor Series, if he's gonna be in the War Games Match,
which I would assume for a for the main event
that's gonna be the the match that's gonna headline would
be the War Games Match, he's gonna be be able
to get in the ring with young guys like bron Breaker,

(12:17):
Bronson Reid, and then some old foes with Seth Rollins
and uh and then on his side, possibly Roman Reigns,
Cody Rhodes got a nice variety of opportunity there to
get in the ring one last time with these guys
as well. So I would say this, whoever they put

(12:39):
in the ring him in the ring with in Boston
better be the the I think that's where the Domasterio
could probably happen because that's where we might get don Yeah,
because you know that's probably gonna be the crowd that's
gonna be the most electric is gonna be in the US.
Is gonna be Boston because it's is its hometown. So

(13:02):
I think, uh, you got to put a nice uh
hot heel in that spot, and who better than dom
Maasterio to put in there to to get the crowd
uh living and it's you know, I don't think they
would put the Intercontinental title on him. That's one of
the titles that he's never won, but it'd be cool

(13:23):
for him to wrestle for it and then maybe you
know there's some you know stuff at the end that
he doesn't win it or something like that. It's just something,
just something to uh to just end, uh, to end
his last and his last appearance in in near his
hometown on a on a good note.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Listen, I think the whole New York thing is one
hundred percent where we're uh where we're likely either either
MSG or Boston, right. I think that's two majors. Yeah,
And I believe that when you talk about the possibility
of who could be his opponent, it's not even like

(14:03):
Dom's gonna get that much heat. He gets cheered. Now,
he was super over on roll.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
He was, he was, but look at who he was
in the ring with. But also everybody's getting booed with
John Cena and it doesn't And I but I think
Dom is somebody who can rev up the audience.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I meant him. I think they'll boo to boo, right
because it's John Cena and and they know the role
that he's playing. But this, this would be and remind you,
guys who are out there watching, this is our speculation.
I don't think we're far off on this though. Now
that we're going to get a domastereo match here, this

(14:46):
to me is this is a career making moment for
a young man, you know, similar to what we talked
about with Gunther. If that opportunity comes down the road,
which it could because there are more dates. But what
I look at Domastereo and how unbelievably electric a crowd
gets for him, and think about the possibility of what

(15:09):
a match against John Cena in either New York at
Madison Square Garden or Boston at the Garden there could
do for him is unbelievable. It is It is getting
the undertaker spot at WrestleMania, getting Shawn Michaels. It's that
kind of yeah, defining moment. It's it's one of those

(15:32):
when when Logan Paul and John Cena were going against
each other, I made the reference of you know the
greatest hits, you know the World Tour tapes, the super
tape highlights. This is if we're making the vhs. This
is we're getting the John Cena match on the Domasterios

(15:53):
Greatest Hits or Greatest Matches DVD or VHS. This is
that moment for him to lay down on an unbelievable match.
And the thing is John's worked at such a high
rate and really really well that I just feel like
Dom is another one of those dudes that can work
all paces and make John Cena look like a million bucks.

(16:17):
The way he would sell for John, Oh, it would
make him and it would really make him I think
to have that moment in those.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yeah, the other the other one, whether you whether you
do that match in Boston or New York, maybe the
other match is kind of giving, you know, kind of
paying forward like Kurt Angle did for John Cene in
his first match. You could he have somebody come out,
you know, somebody from NXT that he talked about, Obafemi
or or somebody to kind of, you know, give somebody

(16:49):
like you, like you said, give somebody an opportunity to
be in the ring with John Cena. Hey go, maybe
maybe it's something like that, you know. There, there's definitely
there's definitely options there. But I think we're on the
right track with with dom and in one of those spots.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I like the concept of that. However, it's the it's
the NFL, and it's week eighteen, and we pretty got
the division locked up. We just need to be good
to go for the playoffs. I don't see them risking
injury by throwing them out there with a second stringer.
And that's not a disrespect to anybody in NXT. They

(17:29):
work at such an amazing rate, but having really no
experience on the main roster. Although it would be a
tremendous spot for say a Trick Williams or an Ova Femei.
I don't see at this point into the John Cena
farewell toward them going that route. Could they sure? I
would be really shocked if we got an I think

(17:51):
they'll find somebody else on the main roster who has
been in the ring, on the main stage, with an opportunity,
who could use the most bron breakers a name Bronson Reid,
somebody along those. I think they're more likely even a
Carmelo Hayes. I mean, I think that we're getting somewhere

(18:14):
now with Carmelo where they're starting to separate him from
his obviously, I feel like they're turning him face again,
which I don't. I like Carmelo as a heel. I
didn't like how they brought him in as a heal
by the way, but that's a conversation for another day.
But I just feel like we'll go that rock someone

(18:35):
who has been fairly recently an NXT, who's who they're
really looking to take the next step. Would be a
great moment for.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
One, definitely. I mean, if you're gonna go see it live,
get ready to pull out your credit card and your
h and you're and budget because the prices for these
shows are I was looking today on a ticket Master
just to be curious, and Madison Square Garden, the cheapest

(19:03):
ticket upstairs is two hundred and eighty one dollars and
that's before fees, before those lovely ticket Master fees. So
it's it's gonna be a hot ticket. And clearly, clearly
WWTKO is taking taking advantage of that and pricing it

(19:25):
to where they think people are still going to pay
that ticket to see Sina one last time, and I'm
sure they will.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Somebody will, oh yeah. And so you sent me a
screenshot earlier. I should have I should have loaded it
in so as you popped up on the screen. But
you sent me a screenshot earlier. Now was that WWE's
pricing or was that a third party site?

Speaker 1 (19:50):
So ww today had the on location packages that they
normally do for a WrestleMania or a big event, but
the all access, the all yeah, the on location all access.
So this particular one was John Cena package where you
get a ringside seat and this is for his last

(20:11):
match in DC. So it had a photo op, it
had meet and greet with Sena. You've got a ringside
commemorative seat, and you got a actually something with the undertaker.
I think like a live podcast. You got to sit
in on a live podcast and it was sixty five

(20:32):
hundred dollars to start per person. So are people going
to pay for that? Yeah? Probably, And until they do it,
TKO and WW are gonna clearly, uh you know, take
advantage of that. Uh it's if the consumer is purchasing

(20:54):
the product then by all means, so it's uh, yeah,
sixty five dollars. I mean that what an experience I'm
okay with.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
I'm not spending the money on that. Well, I'm somebody
will and.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
I and I understand that somebody will because that experience.
If I had sixty five hundred dollars laying around and
I could have I could fitted on my budget, then
then of course I'm going to consider it. I mean,
that's a that's a once in a lifetime moment on
the the Goats Last Last Hurrah, and you're gonna get

(21:38):
it be a part of that.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
That's where I was getting to. Yeah, I can't blame
them in the instance of what this is. And and
just speaking generally, not that you are. I think you're
more towards the side of it. If you can get it,
get it right, and people are gonna pay it. And
I think that goes along with a lot of the
conversation we've had where we talked about ticket pricing. You know,
I'm I have other things going on in my life.

(22:03):
I've spent that kind of money on tickets, but I'm
not spending that money now. And inflation is a thing,
so tickets are elevated. They were kind of trending that
way prior to anyway. So but at the same time,
like people are online complaining about the ticket prices for
this event to go, but it's John Cena's retirement. It's
well known in advance. People knew this was coming up.

(22:26):
And if you didn't think in twenty twenty five, and
it's not just WWA and TKO, look at what they
do with the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Yeah, Dynasty brought that up in the chat.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah, absolutely. I like his comment here too. Brown breakers
a while Craig get set up in more games. He
also says, yeah, maybe it is on Super Bowl level
as far as price, it is, and it's not just
that it's on that level. They're doing what the NFL
does and By the way, people bitch about the NFL
is pricing all the time, but guess what people do.
They pay the money to go to the so and

(23:01):
I do.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah, you know, I'm taking a trip to Green Bay
in November. I'm paying the prices and I'm paying the
travel to get there because I chose, my my wife
and I chose to utilize, you know, use our money
to go to an experience. And that's kind of the
same for ww fans that pay thousands of dollars to

(23:25):
go to WrestleMania that it's it's the experience, and that's
why they put all these events, and that's why they
make it two nights. Because if I'm going to travel
from people over the over in like the UK for example,
if they're traveling in why am I going to travel
in pay airfare, hotel, food and all that and only

(23:47):
go to one night in WrestleMania. Of course, I'm gonna
go to two nights of WrestleMania, and I'm gonna do
the Hall of Fame and I'm gonna do access and
I'm gonna do everything that I possibly can because it's
the experience. And if people continue to spend this money
on it, WWE and TKO are going to price it
accordingly and they're going to make a profit because at
the end of the day, they're a business. And do

(24:10):
I agree with the pricing. No, I think it's I
think it's a little it's it's it's it's expensive. But
if somebody can, if they can justify that somebody is
going to pay for those tickets, then of course they're
going to price it that way. That's that's how business works.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Okay, Well it's the main, right, so it's supplying the
main and ww's is hot now as it's been maybe ever.
And then on top of it, right, Like I think
all these these ticket companies see how all people do
is they go in, they buy tickets at face value,
and then they go and they sell it for you know,

(24:50):
sixty percent or seventy percent price hike over on or
sometimes double, sometimes triple if it's sold out event someone
really wants to go. I mean the price is yes,
the ears to where we're insane and the things that
these people like, so like it's kind of it's kind
of this thing where maybe not you as an individual,
but if you look at our culture and how these

(25:13):
sorts of things have trended a lot of times, we
bring things on ourselves and then we bitch because the
man the companies followed suit and they're like, well, why
are you making that money off of our products when
we can just do it ourselves and somebody can go
directly to us instead, And now we're pocketing that as

(25:35):
opposed to you're basically going in and you're pinching our customers.
So we you know, I mean, to each his own,
you can't beat them, join them like it's almost that
kind of like that's just how I feel like. This
is one of those we set ourselves up for this
and then want to complain about where this this direction

(25:57):
has gone with that, and I just I can't.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
I can't get on board with I will say I
will say this.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
MANI has been a little bit crazy though. Yeah, yeah,
from one year to another very quickly. And listen, I'm
four nights two nights to Mania. I have been. I
went I went to the to the nine hour Mania
that was New York City and it was it was
I loved it, but it was rough and honestly, you
had your first female main event, and like I was

(26:25):
done by the time it happened like I I remember
a lot from that night. I barely remember that match
because I was so physically exhausted and entired. And so
I think, like, you know, the people who complained about
two nights or the people who complained about one night,
but like you look at all these other companies who
do these g one climax tournaments that are multiple day tournaments,

(26:47):
or they do you know, or then they'll complain, oh, well,
it's it's too long to go a certain period of time.
But they would watch Wrestle Kingdom, for which I think
is two days now. If I'm from right, I believe yes,
But it used to be like a seven hour show,
and they would be like, oh, I got Wrestle king
There's the greatest thing, top to bottom. And it's like,

(27:09):
but you bitched about WrestleMania going five hours, Like what
are you doing? So again, it's like one of these
people to have their cake and eat it too. And
I just don't have an issue with that. I have
no problem with them charging a full price for two nights.
There's still this is this is the world that we're in,
and why wouldn't they maximize it? If you can make

(27:32):
it a two night thing, why wouldn't you do that
and maximize Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
I will say this though, especially me I have I
have two kids, and my kids are not really into wrestling.
We've been to a few shows, but you know, they know,
they know who the they know who the main people are.
But just as a family, you know, if you're if
you're looking for something to take, you know, take your

(27:57):
kids too, if they're in the wrestling and stuff like that.
The way things are priced right now, families, and the
way you brought it up. You have the economy and
inflation and everything's just gone up, so more and more
people have to pick and choose what they're gonna do.
So if the product, which we've kind of debated, where

(28:18):
where the product is right now? And it's kind of
like sometimes some of these raws and smackdowns are kind
of just like the same old same old p ls
are different because you're getting different matches. You're getting every
match is a top tier match or should be, so
rolling SmackDown you're not necessarily getting that, but you're you're

(28:39):
buying the brand, you're buying raw tickets, you're buying SmackDown tickets,
so you're only going to see half the roster. Probably
because because of the brand split, you may get lucky
and see Cody or one of the champions. But a
family's got to make a choice whether a Roll or
SmackDown if it's coming to their town, is worth paying

(29:00):
two hundred, two hundred and fifty dollars for a show
that you may not necessarily see the person that you
that you uh, that your kids enjoy, or you enjoy.
So it's it's Wwe has to be careful to not
go down a slippery slope where they continue to raise
the prices and then they start to see where you know,
maybe they're not selling as much as they were before,

(29:23):
and it's got it. That's why that the product saying
fresh is going to be really critical. And it goes
back to booking. It goes back to the stories and
are people invested and are they going to spend that
money to go see Raw and smack Down in the
pls Because if the matches aren't if the matches and
the uh, the story aren't there, then people are not

(29:45):
going to be compelled to buy those tickets. So they
have to be very careful to not alienate their audience
and make sure that they if they're going to continue
to raise these prices. They got to make sure that
the that the value is worth that money that the
people are putting in for to watch the shows.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Well, I do think that's why the house show loop.
You know, obviously they scaled back how many they do,
but still having it exist is an important factor because
it is a more affordable show for people to take
their kids.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
And then when you see these videos of house shows,
like Cody works all the house shows, Seth works them,
so you know you're not getting Roman necessarily, but unless
you're in like Madison Square Garden and they make something
out of it. But like again, it's it's they're they're
providing an affordable option. Is it what you're seeing as
a televised broadcast. No, they are providing an affordable option

(30:37):
when they do come to So anyway, we'll see how
this breaks down. But yeah, big news today with that
John Cena and his uh.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
His thinking.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
So let's move on to Raw. Here some news and
notes from Raw. In our last fifteen or so minutes,
got Roman Reigns making his return. We had the rematch
from Wrestle Poluza between the USO's and the Vision UH
and I'm I'm being open minded to see where this goes.

(31:09):
By the way, yeah, I do not at this particular moment,
like this direction with Jay Usso's character. I think it's
very weird that we just do this right, Like it's
like I don't I'm not into it, but we'll see.
It could be a payoff, like I am curious, or

(31:30):
are we getting some form of a reunion of the bloodline?
But are they going to be heels? Are they gonna
be faces? Like what are we doing here?

Speaker 1 (31:39):
It could also set up war games, you know if
if that's if you're gonna do Vision, you could do
Vision versus Bloodline. Possibly. I don't think they're gonna do that,
but if but if you're gonna get the if you're
getting the band back together, I.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Mean you're gonna taken two are you taking two Wargames matches? Then?
Because I can tell you inevitably, I don't see there's
a way that they're not doing John Cena.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
I agree. But if it's if it's like they're still
feuding a Vision and then you have the Ussos and
Roman reigns, and if you add say, for example, Jacob
Fatu to that mix, what what makes sense would be
to have them face the vision, but it may it

(32:27):
may not go that way. And I'm with you, I'm
kind of skeptical as to how they're going about Jay
because he's extremely over and they're they're giving us some
healed tendencies and where Roman's telling him like, you know,
if everybody else and let's recommend leave, and it kind
of just he's It kind of feels like they're setting

(32:50):
he's setting up Ja to be the next tribal chief,
is what it's kind of setting up because if Roman
is only a part timer, he's he's got Jay there
every week where he can take over. But again, I
don't know if right now it was the time to
do that unless they feel like they need they need

(33:14):
more heels on beside, but you have the vision, so
I don't know, and you're feuding with them.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
So he's just he's one of their best. He's one
of their best, honestly, one of their biggest characters.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Yeah, he's so extremely over.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
I don't get it. Again, it's at the expense of Jimmy,
making Jimmy look like a.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
More Jimmy looks extremely dumb, So.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Like, what are we gonna do? Have him attack Jimmy again,
take Jimmy out so he can go on paternity leave
for a while. Is that what we're doing, because that's
where it seems like we're going. I'm not. I'm not.
I'm I'm okay with a bloodline reunion in some fashion.
I don't want to see what we saw before. I
don't want to see anybody, you know, bowing down into
Roman or to Jay. I would rather see it be

(33:58):
a true united front in some way, shape or form,
where they're you know, a faction.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
But I just don't. I just don't know if a
bloodline works without Paul. No, It's it's kind of like
having the Wise Man. But I guess it could work
with Roman. I don't know. I said, I'll give us
some time just because it's Roman. But again, we see

(34:25):
Roman for a couple of weeks and then he's gone
again for a few weeks. So it's like you're not
getting a lot of consistency in hit, Like he'll he'll
appear Roman's back and then he gets written off again,
he gets hurt. It is like, is that going to
be the rint and repeat for the rest of the time.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
I mean two, you're talking about war Games. I think
the rinse and repeat is every year we see the
bloodline in the war games.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
That's true, that's true.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
I don't need it this year. I'm good since it's
become the main roster thing. They've been in every warning
and I know that the horse been participated in quite
a few back in the day, a totally different era.
It's a whole different time now, and this like the
horsemen stayed together all those years. In this Okay, well

(35:13):
they're broken up, but then when war Games comes around,
we're gonna magically find a way to put them back together.
It becomes a little patronizing. But I love seeing Roman
back listen.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Yeah, definitely. Just as soon as that music popped, Oh
my goodness, the crowd went nuts.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Remember the days, remember that, I always laugh, Remember the
days when people couldn't wanted him gone and he was
shoved down their throats.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
And here we are but night and day from twenty fifteen,
from ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
But yeah, so we'll see big pop for Roman. Not
a big fan of why the USO's Jay Usso's character
is going right now, but I imagine the come up and
still be coming. I don't think it'll make the War Games.
I think you'll get that a crown jewel, and so
we'll see how that works out. But if anything, I
think somehow in the end of so what scene is

(36:11):
matchic crand I think that's where we get Brock involved,
and somehow they're going to tie the pieces together and
they're gonna end up. They even referenced it this week
in the promo with with Cody and Seth, which we'll
jump on that room and then we'll one too because
we're running low. But the whole Seth or you making

(36:32):
who's pulling the strings? Is that you or Paul? Are
you signing off on everything?

Speaker 1 (36:36):
Oh so good?

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Uh. They found a way to make me very excited
to see these two again. Even said saying, doesn't matter
what happened all the other times. Yeah, Champ, you're a champion.
This is the time where I can erase all of it.
I can resurrect my demons if I be another great between.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
These two, I like to real quick. I like too
that he he alluded to helping him at wrestle and
he's you were the lesser of two evils, and I
used you and now it's I really like that they're
going into the past and again not insulting people's intelligence,
not having amnesia, because wrestling for decades has been amnesia

(37:18):
baby faces and heels and you know, blurring the line.
So I think this is really really good that they're
utilizing everything from the past to now and culminating in
this match, and I think it's going to be it's
going to be really good. And the build up's been
you know, been Chef's Kiss so far.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Yeah. Yeah, very excited to see how we what we
get from this. Obviously we didn't talk about it last week,
but uh, just because you know, we didn't really have
a whole there was a lot of other stuff going
on this week, honestly. Yeah, we did get the turn
of the Kabooki Warriors Oscar and a reluctant Kyrie saying

(37:57):
attacking EO Sky, and then we come into this week
and we get our promo, a very passionate promo from EO,
which then turned into Ria coming out and saying, let's
get them, let's let's let's kick your ass. Now your friendship,
they're not your friends. She says, I can't do it,
but then they attack Riya and then she comes out

(38:18):
to basically say please stop. And then she gets the missed,
so now she's pissed. Now she wants to go at them.
I'm interested by Kyrie Saine's inclusion in this though, because
you know, it's the reluctance to do it, but she's
just doing what Oscar is making her do or telling
her to do. Then she hints her the photo in
the backstage segment when she has all the mists in

(38:40):
the in the I guess the trainer's room. Yep, of
like the three of them just kind of hanging out,
I at lunch or something. But just quick quick thoughts
on where we're at it here with EO and the
breakup of the kabuki ward.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
I think we kind of saw this coming as far
as the end the endgame these this match with the
with the four ladies. Uh. At the beginning, it was
kind of like, what are we doing with Oscar? Why
is know? Kind of just planning those season was slow,
methodical and kind of just not sure how they were

(39:16):
going to get there. And now now we're seeing it
where uh, it's coming to fruition And I really really
like the real elements of this where these three were
friends and you know, it's like it's like in real
life when somebody has an issue with a with a
friend and they may not be friends anymore, and you
know they're they're kind of conflicted because they still care

(39:38):
about them and and now you know, it's it's come
to a head where I have to do this because
you know you portrayed me. But just reluctance and just
a lot of emotion and and and heart going into it.
So I think it's it's got it's got the real
it's got the real feel to it. And I think
that's why this is really culminated into a match that

(39:59):
is uh is gonna be It's gonna be good where
you're not sure how EO is going to react in
that match. I don't I don't think. I don't see
her turning, but she may be reluctant to attack during
some during the matches because of because of those emotions
and those feelings. So clearly, uh, there's a lot of
you know what ifs in these in in this uh,

(40:21):
in this match coming up, so looking forward to seeing
what happens.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
Yeah, it's it's a lot of uh, you know, it's
it's the high school story. It's the you know, we
or college, right, like you're you're all friends and you're
you know, like girl your girlfriends, and then all of
a sudden one of the girls doesn't like the other girl. Yeah,
they're basically like either my friend or their friend. You
have to pick and choose. It's kind of that deal.

(40:46):
But I think it's to this point it's being done well.
We've we've heard them talk a lot more than we
typically do as well, which I think is good. Even
though I love Oscar, whether she's speaking English, Japanese or whatever,
she just I think she's like just such a hilarious
but badass character that I just to me is tremendous.

(41:08):
I wish I wish they would do more with her, honestly,
but it's a good spot for her at this point.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Yeah, and they can still they can still do Oscar
and Ria again, and I think this is good to
to give give Ria something to do. I as you've
noticed on SmackDown also with Charlotte, they're not hear and
Ria have not been in the title picture, so they
have to be creative in these programs. And and they're

(41:37):
both now in tag teams where they're they're teaming with
with you know, common foes from the past, but working
together as a as a cohesive unit. So I like
what they're doing, and I like.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Wonder if that's a collision course we get to around.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
That could be as well. Yeah. Absolutely, Saturday Nights Yeah good.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
I know Saturday Night's main event tends to be a
glorified house show a lot of times, and it's more
of just the ambiance of you know, us seeing what
we saw as kids and the presentation of it. But
I have a feeling they're going to do a lot
with this. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
There's also a Saturday Nights Made event at the end
of at the end of October, so yeah, so there there,
I think I think November first or whatever, there is
another Saturday Nights Made event before Survivor series, so they
could do it in there as well. They could do
a little bit of both.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Last portion of the show here, Eric hot Tag, what
do you got from me? So?

Speaker 1 (42:42):
Uh, I wanted to talk a little bit about the
triple threat match on SmackDown with Naya Jack's, Tiffany Stratton
and Jade Carr gill.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Oh Man that whilsted I that's going to be a
scar Yeah. Yeah, you could get all I could literally
get my finger to the knuckle in that cut. It was.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
It was nasty and you could just tell like it
was just like when she went to the camera and
started like like, oh my god, Like you could just.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
See like the gash and clearly clearly that had and
you're I'm sure there's what you're in touch on that
clearly affected Oh yeah, yeah, definitely didn't go that way.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Yeah, And I been seeing a lot of a lot
of people you know, giving stuff to Naya jacks and like,
and even the Tiffany Stratton for you know, being slow
in the spot. But that that incident right there like
had to completely like shake everybody, including the referee.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Let's provide contexts. Maybe somebody miss SmackDown. Yeah, let's refer
it was the they had the w W Women's Triple
Threat match between Tiffany Stratton defending her title against Jade
Cargill and Naya Jackson. Smack uh match was actually for
the most part.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
That was that was probably the best match the three
of ha like and things were going really well. There
was some really you know, good spots. I think it
kind of just but unfortunately, I don't think a lot
of people are gonna remember that beginning that we're watching.
Of course they're gonna they're gonna talk about the end.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
So there's a spot in the match where Naya is
supposed to take Jade's head off of the steel steps,
and clearly she didn't get her hands up, so she
got busted on the corner and the steps the hard way,
and I'm talking guys, and you could see, Yeah, she

(44:42):
was split across her eyebrow from up here so right
about here, and it was that deep open it was.
I mean, you could find the pictures.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
On a you're not queasy. If you're not queasy, go
check it out. Come on.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
I thought it was amazing.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
I was like, whoa, but it was.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
It was nasty. But yeah, so from there so you
explained how the rest of the spot went because then
obviously she was hurt. The referee went out to check.
You remember that referees.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
I forget her name, she you know, the ref came over,
you know, saw she was bleeding. She gave her a towel,
so you see on the outside she she's wiping off
as best as she could, like clearly it wasn't gonna help.
She gets back in the ring and she does a
cut that uh that power bomb type move to Nya

(45:36):
jacks and starts the cover and Nya kicks out. Well, Tiffany,
I guess was supposed to to stop the pin and
then get on top of her for the pin. I
think that's where things got thrown off. The referee didn't
count the three, Naya didn't kick out, and you can

(45:59):
clear Naya talking to the referee about the finish of
the match. So I think it just threw everything off.
And then at the end of the day, tiff and
at the end of the match, Tiffany uh one with
the with the moon salt. But it's unfortunate because it
actually was a good match, like you said, but it
just kind of turned into, you know, that whole mess,

(46:21):
and that's unfortunately what people are gonna gonna look at.
You know, I would say this, you know, yes, it's
it's unfortunate that they give they're given Naya, you know,
crap about that because it wasn't her fault. Jane needs
to protect herself and and the referee. Yeah, she probably
could could have counted the three, should have counted the three,

(46:41):
But you know, who's to say that somebody else wouldn't
have done the same thing. It's those those moments that
you can't prepare yourself for. So I think they needed,
you know, people need to give these ladies a little
bit of a little bit of a reprieve because they
worked really hard and I think it was a I
think it was a good match overall.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
Right, Yeah, so basically what you said the time. If
we're going to point a finger on why this happened,
this was on Tiffany. Tiffany was late to the spot.
So the intention was for Tiffany to come in and
break up the twos. Because she was late to the spot,
Nya had to kick out n ends up, so then

(47:26):
she basically it's it was goofy that Tiffany just pinned
her there. Anyway, at that point, this is where your
experience in the ring needs to come in. Ye, Tiffany
should have hold an audible at that point and did
what she did when she called the audible the second time.
But because that went as it did, it can it

(47:48):
threw Nia. So Nia is thinking, Okay, we're going home
here because that was originally supposed to be the finish
and the referee didn't count three. So at the end
of the day, this was on Tiffany and threw everything off.
You could see a Nia say to her, isn't that
the finish? Yeah, I guess I don't know if she

(48:11):
said not now, but regardless, and then obviously Tiffany you
could see her get up at a frustration and it's her.
The wheels are spinning trying to figure out how she
settles on doing the prettiest moods whatever gets the pin
weird spot really not good logging. The whole ending was bating. Yeah,

(48:32):
point really a shame for these two girls because this
are the three girls. Because honestly, at the end of
the day, I know people love Tiffany, but she is
still pretty green too. Yeah, I think Ny has gotten
much better.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
I wash without without question, and going to Tiffany, like
we we kind of know that she's green and she's
the champion because you know, she came in, she super popular,
she's she's gorgeous, so she's like people see her like,
oh wow, like she's a star. So going into that
like she is, she's the champion, probably more because of

(49:10):
her appearance and her body of not necessarily her body
of work in the ring as of yet, it's it's
getting there she's very athletic.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
The appearance, the character, the demeanor.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
Yeah, yeah, right, and she has she has had our.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Moments, but she has tremendous upside.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
Yeah. Absolutely, She's only gonna get better. I mean, it's
it's one of those things unfortunately where you're you're so green,
you know, you're still learning that these things are going
to happen, and that's unfortunate for for her in that spot.
But you know, it's one of those things where she's
unfortunately has to learn on the fly more than you

(49:51):
know she would if she was, you know, still an
NXT or maybe in like a mid card situation. But
she's the w W Women's Champion like she that you
have the higher expectations when you're in that spot, So
its better. Yeah, definitely. Now we'll see what happens with
Stephanie Vicaire. I think if anybody can get a good

(50:11):
match out of Tiff, it's her. So very intrigued on
that match up and see how that goes at at
Crown Jewel.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
And it definitely should be the one to go. But well,
we'll talk about that possibly. I guess next week is
the week before right now. Yeah, I'm so like thrown
off by so many shows going on, Oh I know,
last thing to just a real, real quick just to
get an aw thing in here. They announced that this
is the first women's Blood and Guts match, which, for

(50:44):
everybody out there, is Aw's name for the Wargames match.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
Thoughts on them doing this with the women, So, I'm
sure it's gonna be a I'm sure it's going to
be a good match, but do we really need to
have a blood and gut with the women? Like, I
think it'll be good, but I think you know, and
we see it with the men too, where they use
blood as like an added feature that necessarily isn't isn't

(51:15):
completely necessary, But I it will probably be a good match.
But yeah, saying before the show, they just introduced tag
team titles, So why, you know, why don't we start
featuring that instead of going into this blood and got
You got all these got all these women and they're

(51:35):
talented and you want to showcase them. You just made
tag team titles. Why not use that as a platform.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
But it's what you're doing, so yeah, just to drop
my two cents, and it's it's kind of to your point.
I like certain women in the top of their card.
I just don't think the roster is very good. It's
not soon were skilled. There's not any incredibly compelling characters
outside of their top characters, right, you know, I like

(52:06):
someone like a Jamie Hater obviously Tony's I don't even
need to mention Tony Mercedes is particularly in this spot,
will be a tremendous watch. Willow. You know if they
add Chris STATLANDERDS this, I don't know, because she's the champion,
so they may. I just don't know that the roster

(52:28):
is deep enough for me to care about a blood
and guts match with the look and and I don't.
I also like, I know that these women want opportunities
in aw particularly because it's not such a a notable
division compared to TNA's women's division WWE's women's division. I

(52:52):
just don't know that this is the route. Like you said,
tag team championships are great, go with that. I don't
think they're deep enough. This would be like at least
WWE when their women's roster wasn't deep enough. They have
a history of legends that they could fill in the
rest of it to still utilize what they did and
then two years later they really stopped needing the legends

(53:13):
because they were able to help develop their division. I
don't think this this company has done enough. I think
that they are rightfully so they Tony Storm has developed
an amazing character in that company. Yes, I'm considering her
the exception. They are in love with Mercedes and this

(53:34):
bell collector thing to the point where it was nauseating,
like when Omega was the bell collector, where it was
entertaining at first and it got really just just boring
after a while. I don't think Mercedes works in AUW.
That's me. I've said it since the beginning. I'll say
it again. The character doesn't feel the same. Actually thought
it'd be quite annoying and not in a heel way,

(53:56):
and it seems very forced. It didn't feel natural the
way her chemistry was with the roster and ww WA
and honestly with that crowd the CEO thing. It's a
catchy song, but I think that that gets really tiring.
I just I don't see the appeal. I don't know why,
Like I'm a shocked that they put Tony over at all.

(54:18):
Out are all in to be honest, but I just
don't get it. And she does have high quality matches.
But I say this all the time, Eric, if I wanted,
if I cared about wrestling, quality matches as the only
thing I care about, I watch independent wrestling because I've

(54:39):
seen a million of them. I've seen some really amazing
matches down the Street and Williamstown or over it's at
the twenty three hundred arena from that of Ground Championship Wrestling.
I I just I know I'm on the main scout.
I need characters to make it compelling for me on
top of it. Yeah, vision doesn't doesn't hit them, so

(55:00):
but we'll see. Maybe this is to create an opportunity
to create stars, to have frequent content, kind of like
they did back in the day with Britt Baker when
she faced thunder Rosa and those parkour matches right with
the blood on her face. Maybe they're trying to create
a viral moment for some of these women by doing

(55:20):
something crazy. I just hope it's not at the expense
of their health, because if that is the purpose behind this,
then I think it's a problem. But we'll see. It
is a first for them, and AW doesn't have many
first because WW hasn't even done more right.

Speaker 1 (55:35):
No, I don't think so. I don't think so. Yeah,
I hope it works. I hope it works out for them.
I hope it's uh, I said, hopefully nobody nobody gets
injured in that match, and hopefully they I'm sure you
know the match is blood and cuts, so I'm sure

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
