Speaker 1 (00:11):
It's Thursday night. Welcome and everybody, Tony, it's Greg filling
it for Tom.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Maybe we'll see Tom.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I will say Tom.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
You know, here's the thing, Greg, I don't think I've
ever shared a stage with you, brother, ever.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yeah, I think this is the first.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yep, it's like the inaugural edition right here.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Some cherries popping, some cherries right before, right before the
big man comes down to Timney.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, exactly. I'll get ready, brother, I'm getting ready. Listen.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Welcome to everybody, Philly Sports on filter right here. As
we just said, I'm Tony, this is Greg. Maybe we'll
have Tom checking in a lot of different things to
talk about to night, but the most important thing is
the poll question. As always, the Phillies moves are smarter
than they look. Do you agree or disagree? Let us
know in the comments, like subscribe you know the deal.
Wherever you're watching, make sure you're a subscribe as well,
(01:01):
and get involved to all the great content right here
at a two D. Let me let let me just
start off by saying one thing, Man, we got a
lot of different topics to talk about tonight, but we
kinda Greg. You guys do so much Eagles talk and
like me and Tom talking about that. So on Thursday
nights we not to say we don't talk Eagles, but
we tried to change.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
The conversation a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Love it.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I love it, and I'm a I'm a.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Really big baseball guy and I you know, I live
for Major League Baseball and right now, man, and I know,
I think me and you are run battle a little
bit on this. So I'm just gonna I'm gonna throw
it right to you real face and talk about because
there's a lot of different things. You just saw the
Philly sign, Brad Keller. I think it's a great move. Uh,
you know, maybe it makes us feel a little better,
(01:48):
but I really want to hear because I haven't even
talked that dogs Garcia, So I want to get your take,
Like what's you're feeling on Garcia right now?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
So Garcia, I like the Garcia signing, right, but we
also have to realize what it is at this point
in his career is essentially just a Cuban Nick Castiano's right,
He's gonna be a little bit better, and he's gonna
be a little bit better defensively, but he's still gonna
strike out two hundred go two hundred times now when
he provided twenty five home runs playing a little bit
(02:18):
of a smaller bar ballpark than what globe light field
there in Texas. Right, that's where you hope that that
you catch lightning a bottle. You hope you catch lightning
in a bottle. Of giving him Kevin Long to work
with right in a new with a new philosophy and
just a new voice of hitting, because the last we
saw he was good. He was one of the damn
(02:40):
best players on the field in the in the in
that in that World Series run he had the cs
M v P and if he obviously see here was
a monster in the World Series and he was just
as big of a monster there. So in a bubble,
I like the Garcia signing where I start to question
the Phillies and to this pole, question is what's next?
(03:04):
What's next? So I want to agree, but as of
right now, I can't see it. So I'm gonna disagree
to the poll. Because if you're rolling out there with
this outfield spring, you know, opening day against the Rangers Houston,
we have problems because our outfield isn't very good. It
(03:26):
could be, it could be, but on paper, is not
very good. Now, where I will give them a lot
of credit. My last thing tone where I will give
them a lot of credit is I love what they
are doing in that bullpen. You talked about the Brad
Keller signing. You sit there and you roll Duran Alvarado
Stram until he's traded Kirkering now Keller and Jesus whom
(03:49):
the other lefty Banks right Banks had a really good
year last year, and he was and he ultimately might
have been outside of Straw. He probably is the guy
you should have went to in that game shun Blue
in the bull in the uh in the playoffs there
uh when when he came in with runners on base,
he probably should have gone the Banks in my opinion.
But I really like what they're doing with their bullpen.
(04:11):
But that outfield, to me, really worries me. With the
rest of the money that they have spent around.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
I'm with you, man I I but I will say
this until we bring the you know, mister no notes
in here for a second, but I I think we're
under playing the Garcia move a little bit. And for
what you just said, now I get it. He's going
to strike out one hundred and eighty to one hundred
and ninety times. But here's the thing about Gars what
(04:38):
you just said. I mean, listen, if you just take
strip everything down thirty one, twenty seven, thirty nine, that's
his whole run totals in three years of twenty one,
twenty two to twenty three, you're talking ninety a buckoh
one and a bucko seven in his RBIs.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I mean, this dude was an absolute monster.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
And the underrated thing is he does it missed games
until last year was the first time he missed double
digit games in a year, a couple of ils tents. So,
like you said, Greg, if he can just change the scenery,
because I've read about him, he's not a bad guy.
He's say he's a good clubhouse guy, right, I mean
(05:19):
he kind of fits the Moltle. I think to your point,
what we're saying is like if we go in with
the Justin Crawford center field unproving with the Dollscar sitt
and right, and then you have the platoon of Brandon
marsh and I keep saying it at Tom you're small.
I want to hear you that the championship ship that
(05:42):
Tom Bro keeps saying it. Okay, I'm not feeling too
good about that, brother, I'm not Yo, Tom, what's up, buddy?
Speaker 5 (05:51):
What's up? Boys?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
What's that voice?
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Man?
Speaker 5 (05:53):
All right? Yeah, we're here. You know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
It's working its way here. It's a matter of time
when other people are rocking and rolling. You can just
have to feel it, you know what I mean? I
can feel and in the end.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
It's it's that it's the school Vobe and the kids
go to school, they bring home the terms. Dude, it's
never ending, never ending, never ending, never ending, never ending
Branchack and then said Keller and Garcia both good sign
you know, to bring it back to the bullpen.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
This is something that Rob Thompson loves to use, whether
we like it or not. Right, he just loves the bullpen.
I'll be I'm not a strong guy.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I'm not a match. I feel like every time he
comes and.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Disappoints, like he always gives up a hit. He always
gives up something, whether he gets out of it or not.
Just and I think that if they can kind of
retool that a little bit. I I didn't realize how
good color was. It just makes me think, what the
hell are the cubs doing, why do.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
You let this man?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Like I was, I saw something earlier on his v
low that it's like consistently going up from like ninety
to ninety two, ninety three, ninety ninety seven. Now can
he sustain? The only thing that's weird to me was
I saw a coup. I don't know if you guys
know what this is about, because I don't really, like,
really study it.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
But they said, you.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Know, if I kept saying, if he stays in the bullpen, like,
what do you mean if he stays, does he have
starter potential?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Greg is that No, he doesn't. I don't. I think
that's why he comes moving to the bullpen. He had
he came out as a starter, or he had time
as a starter, and they revamped in the bullpen, and
that's where he became lights out. So I think whatever
whatever you might have heard about him having started a
potential or if he stays in the bullpen more or
less has to deal with he's started in the past.
(07:44):
But where he where his numbers took off and where
he became a monster is naturally when they got him
in the bullpen and they just let him rock and
roll one inning and you could just come in fire
and bullets.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Interesting because that's a Tom do this. Because you know,
I was talking about this the other night. I forget
who I was talking to him about. But we actually
when my son was cutting somebody's hair, he was in
the barber chair. We have a little barbershop talko, and
we talked about the story of rotation, and I said,
that's I'm actually a little scared. And you know, what
do you mean you're scared? I said, well, look, let's
(08:18):
just let's play it out right. You you do have
a question mark in your ace in Zach Wheeler.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
We can't say it's not. We just don't know. I mean, yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
It it's gonna come back and pitch probably right. But
that that thorastic syndrome which Color had too, by the way,
which is an under underlining note. So it seems interesting
that he had it. He came back strong, and they
talked about maybe he could be like a you know, you.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Know, somebody to bounce golf of right, but right exactly.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
But but Tom, looking at it, do I have real
concern because I look at Nola as obviously a concern
that we're letting We signed Nola to the money that
we probably should have paid rate. So no, Ranger's gone right,
you still have a question mark and Painter sanch Has,
I think is the only guy that I'm like, I'm good.
(09:08):
Everybody else has some questions, aren't they?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
And Lozard? Loz pitched really well, but.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
I love But what I'm saying though, is I love Lozardo.
However can he continue that? Is so it's you know,
it's a small sample size. So I just think that
we can't go in and just say, oh, we're just
gonna have most dominant pitching in Major League Baseball again.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
I just don't think it's not easy.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Yeah, well, well first off to let's start with that
that question. Uh, they're they're good. They're good.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Is their concerns and it sure?
Speaker 4 (09:41):
I think if Aaronaul is healthy, it'll be better then
he wasn't like Spurts.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I hope.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
I think consistency will be better in today's day with
the way he pitches.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
He's built the pitch.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
So he's thirty eight forty, He's is one of those guys.
He's built for the longevity. Can he never beat you
with heat? He never had to beat you at heat.
He had a beat you with other stuff, so that
might be like a smart deal. And then all of
a sudden he gets hurt where and he's really never
been hurt, So that that's the that's the NOA piece
to a whole. So I'll trust in the trends of Nola
being a healthy guy and giving your quality starts. Then
(10:13):
to just say, hey, I'll ask strict last year, I'll
trust it. Uh, los Arto, Like Tony said, you got
to duplicate it for me.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
I listen, you do what you did last year. We're
on something, Uh, Painter, I mean, we don't know these
big league juices get you going more. Uh, we're gonna
find out. And this is why you gotta bring guys
up so we can find out. And if you don't
bring them up, training for kettle mart d Uh. Then
when you talk about Sanchiaz, I'm not worried about him
unless you're just talking about health. Right, when you talk
(10:43):
about any picture right, and we are, I'm not worried
about either. Honestly, I'm not. Modern medicine twenty twenty six
is coming up.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
He'll be good. He'll be good.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
So you have some concerns out like I'm not like
sitting here saying like, none of those guys concerns.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Yeah, guy's coming off a blood clot.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Right, it's not. It's a little bit of a concern
on how he bounced back. When does he come back?
So yeah, I mean again, we talked about pitching. Someone's
like football in a way, like the healthiest team, right,
the healthiest staff.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
The healthiest staff.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Might go to deep the deepest, and we were and
we weren't the healthiest staff last year if you really
think about it, when you talk about losing your race.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
No, that's true, that's true. I Brad Brad talks about
switching a little bit, says we're waiting on j.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
T row Mute to resign.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Pholi's man him all for I don't know why they're
waiting so long for an answer, Brad, very simple third year, right,
they're just you know, this is not getting.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
It anywhere else, right, he's not getting.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Anywhere else waiting they're waiting out.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Yeah, there's nobody else out there. So it's like, hey,
that's that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
There's there's no one else right now around.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
But to the poll, I think the little moves are
smarter than they may look, I mean I like Garcia.
I'm really I always like Garcia. Last two years is
a little bit down. But can he can he give
you twenty five thirty again? I think he can. I
definitely think he can. Now you don't expect him back
to eighty. He's gonna back to forty forty five. You
(12:09):
get him on a good year, and can you can
you get the RBI production?
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Like Tony said, can he get the eighty to one
hundred mark? Right?
Speaker 4 (12:16):
He give me eighty to one hundred and and somebody's
got a problem and he gives you a better golf.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
He's a way better glof, way better after and a winner.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
I mean he won, so we said what we want
to say and he was a big part of them winning.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
So I like getting guys who won World Series. I
think that. I think that's fun and I think you
get at.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
Guys who know what it takes to win and are
a little bit looser than those situations. Uh maybe as
a bounce back here in the pen, we're loaded back there, man,
all blocked and loaded all ready. I mean we were
throwing bullets from the six on. You can think started
out in the fifth and we're like I mean that's
how confident him and you win.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Listen, you win by pitching. Uh.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
But yeah, I think they're a little bit smarter than
they look because you had justin offered in do it.
It gives you, gives you a little bit more excitement.
You guys are talking about the outfield. I mean, I
like Brandon Marsh. I think Topper is the guy who
made him not be able to play every day. I
don't think it's a problem with Brandon Marsh can play
every day. I think if you let Brandon Marries go play,
you probably get you probably get a guy who's going
(13:17):
back you two sixty five, two seventy.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
And he's gonna and he's gonna drive to twenty.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Twenty five fifty What is say eighteen to twenty five, right,
but fifteen if he's playing every day, right, say fifteen
to twenty five. Okay, we're you gonna go get that
production it right now, and I get it.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
They're gonna put tune it.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
But and Crawford's a contact guy, so you sort of
make suff for cars, say you striking out a thousand
times and the rest of this lineup.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
But there are move they're they're a mover two away
from me being me being good. I don't know where
you guys standing. They're a mover two away.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Oh we think.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
I I completely agree with you. My problem me is
Dombo coming out say we're done well essentially base that's
is at December eighteenth, saying we're done in the outfield.
This is what we're rolling out. Because you're right, Tommy, like,
I want to get crawl from the shot. But are
we gonna Are we gonna put too much pressure on
a twenty one year old rookie an hole? Well yeah,
(14:13):
but still with no one else in that out still
get hit right like on paper in theory, right, because
you know where we're put.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Tuning mars, I wouldn't worry about the outfield. To your point, Greg,
you're right on. You guys are thinking about the outfield.
I'm thinking about I'm thinking about I got two spots
in the infield then, or at least one.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
I gotta fiel, I gotta fill third base.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:32):
Are we trying to do it different? Because again, trying
to do it different?
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Trade Stott, trade Painter Boom trade in Arizona, get Marte
and and then Boom go get bregnant for third, and
maybe he's playing a.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Little poker face. Yeah, I'm hoping so because they can't
be done. They couldn't be done because Bay.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Are still out there, Bellinger's still out there, Tucker's still
out there, and again two weeks for us, two weeks of,
two weeks ago, three weeks ago. I probably I'm with you,
Tommy like, yeah, all right, we can move on for
those guys. But he's garcia that you're like, yeah, or
outfield's done, We're good. Huh. I got a little bit more.
(15:12):
I need to be done.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
I don't know why you guys are surprised.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Man.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
I don't think it's a poker phase. I think I've
been saying this all along. I think that there is
a self imposed cat by John Middleton.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
They don't want to go over that third, right, they
don't want to go over it.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
He's saying, and the same thing I would be saying, like, bro,
how much money you want me to give you? Like
I get you told me you want to Turner. I
gave you Turner, you want it?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Harper?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I gave you Harper you want to I gave you
I gave you nol It. I you know I'm paying swarves, Like,
what else do you want me to do? If these
guys can't win, they can't win. But I'm not going
over there. So the only way that they're gonna do
something else is if they can move other pieces.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
You know, that's it, And I don't know if they
can do that. I it's crazy, and that's.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
What makes be traded.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Well, you're not gonna pay him after the year, so
what No, No, You're I get you. So it's just
you do just let him walk and you lose.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Them for nothing, okay, or I mean you can try
to trade him. I'm just saying. I'm just saying, you
play a guy on the contract here, maybe get the
best year out of him. I don't know, right, what
are you gonna get back for him? Like where we're
gonna get back on a guy on a contract here?
You know, Like what are you getting back?
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Un let's just vibes with the team with him, I.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Him and Nick. But my point is, like my point is,
they gotta move.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
We gotta move to guys. So I just don't know
how they they move. They move it and that's where
you got to get some stuff back. You gotta hope
you can get I mean, you're not gonna get March back.
I don't know, they're not. They're in a tough spot.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Well that's where That's where Dombrowski here to Philadelphia tenure
has been strange because he hasn't been creative. He hasn't
been the blow up guy that he has been everywhere else.
And shockingly, we haven't won. Right, we won a lot
of games, but we haven't gotten over to hump at
some point. You know, he's a master of going blowing
(17:07):
up farm systems, and to a point, I'm glad he
hasn't done it here because our major league team has
been so we thought so close to that, to that prize,
and we were. But at some point, and I think
it's this all season, you gotta start moving and shaking,
get get creative, make some trades to your both your guys.
At the point, we're not just gonna go give out
(17:29):
massive contracts anymore. Now that Schwarmer's done in, JT's on
the table, right, JT is the last thing that they're
probably waiting on to see what what they're gonna do next.
But go make a trade, whether it's Vermarte or you know,
make a trade for one of the young catchers that
might be available. You lost out on Harry Ford, but
who there's other guys out there that are major League
(17:50):
ready that that could be had, but you got to
get creative. And maybe that is including a painter or
a Miller or Crawford at this point, I don't know,
but it i'mbro seems to be off his game right
now because there's zero creativity.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Why do you think that, Greg?
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Like what Honestly, I'm gonna I'm gonna put this nugget
out there what I just said, because I still think
that he knows there's a self imposed cap and he
needs those players to fill the roster because he can't
spend more money right because he's done it everywhere. He's
never held on the prospects. Ever, now all of a sudden,
(18:27):
he's talking a different game. Oh we we like our
young guy. Since when dom Bro like, you have never
held on anybody like I don't. And you know what
I want to answer guy himself at the top of
it's talk about young guys. Comya mentioned him And it's
the kind of stuff that pisses me off. And I
listen to whatever, whether it be podcasts or radio or
see it on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
We clamored for Justin Crawlford.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
We want Justin Crawlford pre Now he's essentially gonna be
your guy. And now all of a sudden, there's all
these questions, Well his ground ball rates terrible. Uh, I'm
doing really sure he's gonna be able to play?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
What the hell do we want?
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Like?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
What is wrong with people? It's like we want it.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
That soons we got to figure out a way to say,
oh no, it ain't good enough again. So I don't understand.
I'm excited for this kid, but for some reason, I
don't know where all these questions are coming from.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
I'm excited for Painter too. I'm excited for both of them. Right,
it's time and maybe maybe yeah I get excited and
here we go. But maybe it's maybe don Bro did it.
Dono did it differently because he wanted to keep a job.
And what I mean by that is build by spending money,
(19:38):
but also build a system why you're why you spend
money and had those guys come up and be a
part of a nucleus and continue something right And maybe
that Now, what the chance is that both Painter and
Crawford pan out?
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Yeah, I mean not high.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
I don't know, man, I got good vibes, I do
I I mean I got really good vibe the.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Way the way we're going, we better hope they both
pant out right.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Well, the fact that the fact they never moved them
tells you that you know, they believe, they believe in them.
Yeah right, I mean that's how I look at it too,
Like we you know, Tony said they moved. You know,
he's moved and shape everywhere he's been, we know that,
and here he's not. Maybe maybe there's a couple of
guys he just won't do that with, Like he's.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Been helped bet on that trading. That's guys for a
while now.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Dwayne says they're not paying Bragman money. No, they actually
they can pay Bragman if they move Bowman strong. I mean,
if they can maneuver money around, if they really and
and listen, it could be an option.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
I'll say this, guys, what do you think about this?
Speaker 1 (20:45):
I think they're waiting and I'm not going to butcher
this dude's name, but I think they're waiting on a
Japanese picture. I think they're waiting to see how that
all falls out before they do any now, Yeah, I forget.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Even thought that with the with the Moratala, the corner end,
the corner infielder. I know. I know a lot of
people came out and debunked and why he's not, but
his posting is up, I believe on the twenty first.
So he's either got to sign by the twenty first
or he's got to go back.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Okay, And I almost feel like.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
The scouting reports are what they are right like whether
you can hit high velocity, whether you're can hit fastballs,
and a strikeout rate did go up. But at the
same time, if you're a Phillies market, you're Philadelphia, the
Philadelphia market with TV and and sports, you gotta dip
your toe into that palm.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Sooner or later they're trying.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
You gotta dip your toe. So if you gotta go,
even if it's a short year two three year deal
with him, just to get that that.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
That pool, you know, oh yeah, that.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Train rolling in this direction. And then maybe, like you said,
the pitcher, because they have been on, they have been
on all these guys. They offered Yamamoto the most money. Yeah,
it's just they haven't been able to pull it. So
you gotta you gotta start that. You got to start that,
uh that train through Philadelphia.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
And maybe it's him. Maybe it's him at a smaller
cheaper deal than anyone ever expected because his his value
were his his uh, his stock is going down. Once
all these scouting reports started coming.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
Out, I could say, yeah, I mean I would like
either or A preferred to the arm.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
Yeah, definitely come over here and they and they.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Got eighty five pitches they throt So you know, I'm
a I'm all for that.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
You know the thing like how do you want to do?
Goes down?
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Then I don't get it. I don't get it at all,
not at all.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Bronze is I like, I like Keller in the eighth
set up the ran next year like like like Tom said, bruh,
I mean that the bullpen's pack right, and especially the
back end of the bullpen and Greg you talked about
I was. I was riding Towns. I was like, this
dude's such an old school so he just comes in,
gets it done with that eighty seven mile an hour
(23:08):
quarter slider like nobody can hit man like I love it.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yeah, And he was. He was awesome with inherited runners.
You know he really good with inherited runners, and it
was just it was just it was the odd not
odd because it's Topper right, but it was just odd
the way it was used in.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
The shocking Yeah, come on, Tom, you know what I mean,
Brad says CASTI.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
He's a guy. Listen. I could do a whole show
in CASTI. I don't.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
I don't want to get into it because I've I've
been over and I'm tired of arguing with people that
just won't want to give us.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Dude his flowers.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
I'm not saying he's got to go or I'm not
saying he doesn't have to go. I think the marriage
is over. I think he's become the scapegoat. I think
the Phillies are doing them thirty I really do. I listen,
I think he gave you more than what maybe you
thought you would give you for a small sample size.
And the last I will say for everybody hat Casianos,
(24:04):
please remember something he took spot from Bryce Harper when
he didn't have to, meaning, you know, this dude didn't
come here to play right field. People forget about that.
He's not sign here to be a right fielder. So
all these people are very nauche. Defense stinks. He wasn't
signed to be a right fielder. He went in there
(24:25):
out of necessity. So whatever, I don't even want to
get into it. I really don't, because I said, let's
switch gears, guys.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
What about let's talk.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
A little sixers, man, Let's talk a little sixers because again,
may listen and again, if you're still tuning in live
checking as always in that notification bell wherever you're checking
in the Phillies, the move the Phillies are smarter than
they look. Right, The Phillies moves are smarter they look
Do you agree with disagree? We'll continue to touch on
that pole. But talking about the Sixers, man, I read
(24:55):
the story about Paul George, and first of all, let
me just say the last game I watched, I think
I finally set in. I said, Paul George is back
if he could stay healthy, because he's creating the isolation.
His shot looks smooth. He was deeing up up on
the top of the perimeter. I was like, there's a
defense that we've always missed. There's the long wingspan he's in.
(25:19):
And then I heard him talk about how the stories
of him being washed bothered him and he put on
some muscle, right he can't. So I tell you, boys,
I'd like to hear what you think, because I'm not
saying they're going anywhere, but I'm just saying that Paul George,
I mean, we're finally seeing We're never gonna see the
Paul George of twenty nine years old. However, we are
(25:39):
seeing the version of Paul George. I think that we've
really wanted to set silky smooth style player.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
What do you guys think?
Speaker 3 (25:49):
Good, Tommy, it's you.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Oh, it's all man, all right, Yeah, I mean listen,
I think I said last year. I think if he's healthy,
they're they're gonna be They're gonna be way better than
they were.
Speaker 5 (26:04):
I think he.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Sold well in that MAX last year either right after
that period, but when he played together last year, he
sort of solid got veteran, be able to give an
ISO and where a lot of guys you might play
with can't ISO game late in games. So he gives
you that threat and that ability rebounds at a high level,
and the defends at a high level when he's healthy.
Speaker 5 (26:26):
So all those things are great, and I think it
you know, the small sample side this year, he's been fantastic.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
One shot I don't like. I forget what game it ended.
I didn't like that shot. But either way, because in
I love it.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Twenty twenty yeah, And I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
If times I twenty twenty on this shot because it
was that. I just didn't like, you're fiting away from
the corner end of the game like that.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
That's got a good shot.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
You could have got a better three right first off,
So that's just to me, that's a lazy look at me.
I mean Bart is for Twitter, you know what I mean,
the podcast for Twitter.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
But listen, I think they're good. Man.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
I've watched a ton of games. You know it's gonna
stink here in the next couple of weeks, uh, you know,
you know, being a you know, being a Winter Winter
stuff winner practice to get going right, so not gonna
be able to watch like I have.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
But man, we watched a ton of games so far,
and they're good.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
When they all play again, they are, so it would
be exciting if they can. And I think he's back
and he's healthy. But I don't think he ever went anywhere.
I think it's helped him somewhere.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
I don't agree with that I disagree, but I think
that his mind.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
I think he was in a place where he was
playing with Kawhi and James Harden.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
I mean, that's tough.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
I'll probably go I'll probably be the the n P two,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
So, like, why I'm not gonna get the ball that much,
He's gonna paddle in the ground.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
I'm gonna get it with seven seconds left, I'm gonna
have to go jack a shot.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
Think about it.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
So, yeah, your game is not gonna be as good
when you're playing that type of environment. But when you're
playing in an environment where in this where I think
it's really unselfish, is where he can he can flourish.
So I don't think the game went away. The game
was here last year. It's just we didn't see it long.
But he got hurt.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
But I'm telling you, the defense was here. All those things.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Now you say he's mad, he's mad, people talking shit,
all that love that you know put on.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
He looks bigger now you say it. So said went
up to two thirty five. I mean, I think I
think this is a greg I think this is a
win for the Phillies fan base, right, you know, for
the Philadelphia fan base because I think he came here.
I mean, Tom are a great point with Kawhi and
and Harden. I think he came here with a lack
(28:53):
of day's attitude, and I think he was like, I'm
getting a big payday, I'm good to role. And then
I think the Philly fan and you know, he didn't
realize how harsh it was to play here. I think
it gots him a little bit. I don't think that, right,
I do. I think it concepts two things.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
That and the leader of the basketball team. It's two things, Tyree,
it's him and Tyren. Tyrie's Maxie and walking around not
a Maximoney player. I mean you can go go go
to my timeline right now on Facebook and there's a
great Carson Wentz ran up there right that I truly
believe in.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Where guys follow leaders.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
If you if you've got a ton of money and right,
guys are gonna follow what you do.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Right.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
So when you talk about a guy Tara Ridge, Maxie,
how he goes by his business, you're coming to his team.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
He's been here longer than you have, right, He's a
Maximoney player too.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
So now you just don't walk in even though you're vetter.
Now they love each other, right, they don't have an
issue at all. But you get what I'm saying. But
it's it's a it's a culture. It's a culture built
if my best player, my hardest worker, we are onto something,
We are onto something because that older guys. Look, you
(30:04):
hear them talk about them. You hear Paul George and
Joel and be talking about that guy diaries Maxie all
the time. But Joelle can't say it enough how he
feels bad when he's not out there for him or
when he is out there and he doesn't can't play,
you know, isn't playing his best. And heard Paul George
say his kids carried us. You know, I feel bad
I'm not out there helping them.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
So they like they know, where do you see this?
Where do you see in the NBA that we know?
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Where the hell do you see two guys that are
Max Money faces of franchise type guys in their career.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
Say, Yo, that's his sne We got to help him out.
Think about that.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
You don't hear that stuff a lot.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
You don't hear that a lot.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
It says a lot about the kid because he's not
the type of kid.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
I keep forgetting he's a max player, I think, and.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
I say it, I'm forty three, like you know what
I mean, My kids, I'm right when you're I'm a man.
He's a good kid.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
So you're a good kid. We're a good kid. And
you're genuine and right, you know what I mean, You're
raised right. And the money and that stuff did it
didn't turn you change you and think you made it.
I see that other guys are inclined to work hew hard.
This isn't hard, especially the NBA, man, you know what
(31:26):
I mean, especially in the NBA where you don't have
that all the time.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
I mean, how like even Halibert has even to change.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
The cultures because a good guy work hard worker, right,
And I think, like you know, and I'm not comparing
to Towo.
Speaker 5 (31:38):
I'm just making a point. And went to the finals.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
You know, even Joe Brunson, right grinder, hard worker, all
that kind of stuff took the Knicks to a different
place immediately, so in terms of who they are. So
and I think you did the same thing here as
a younger player, So I can go on.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
I love it, we think Craig No.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Yeah, I think that second part, I really don't. But
but but I think that second part, though, was so huge.
What you talked about, Tommy is is those those veteran
leaders realizing that their time has passed, right, And not
that maybe not there that their full time has passed,
but their their star level, their leader type time has passed.
(32:20):
When you have a guy like Tyrese that is taking over,
whether you whether he wanted to or not. Right, last
year was such a strange year for Tyreese and we
saw it with his up and down play right. He
struggled at times and then at the end of the
year he got hurt. But if we remember going into that,
we didn't know each game who was even playing, but
we did know Zero was taking the floor right, and
(32:42):
there's games where he had helped. There was games where
he didn't have help, and because of that he struggled
a bit, and there was there was people in the
area and media thinking is Tyree still the guy? But
he's proved this year that not only is he isy
the guy, he is he is now the number one
guy in this team. And I think, like Tommy said,
(33:05):
when you hear those when you hear Joelle and you
hear Paul take ownership and be like I feel bad
for him, like we're we're letting him down. That's when
I think the Sixers are the best because if, like
you said, if they're all playing and they're all healthy,
they're a really good team. What that final ending spot is,
(33:26):
who knows. I mean, we all know where it ends.
But if they're healthy at the end of the year.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
We could go on to run.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Well, it's as simple as this where they at get
tyrecks Max Winia series.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Yeah, oh yes, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
When you have a guy goes for a lot of teams, right, yeah,
But when you have a guy WINNA series, things can
happen in the postseason.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
Last year was just like injured. I think you only
played like thirty five games.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
More than that, I swore he sort of got shut
down earlier halfway through maybe, but either way, he's gotten
better every year.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
I think that's like the special thing about him is,
you know, he's twenty five and he's getting better.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
She looks even better this year than he was, you know,
even last year.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
He's bought in.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Man, We're starting to get these guys back, and I
think VJ is a special player.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
So I just think there's good vibes going on here. Man.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
That's why I sold you guys from the from the
Jump Street. I have different vibes with this ship. You
don't be going in negative about the old cats, going
pos about the young doggies, young bill puppies, going pos
about the puppies are cute, you know what I mean,
jumping around a lot, you know, get get your licks in,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
Yeah, get your puppy smells in.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
You know, we'll lick. Everybody knows the rule.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Hey, speaking of lis Bro, can we talk about the
goat of goats right now?
Speaker 2 (34:53):
In Cooper Disease? Can we talk about speaking a lix Bro?
They did the Bella sits away Bro.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
He's pulling, He's pulling Nikki Bella, Tom you know, you
know Nicky Belly. Probably I don't know Nikky Bella, No,
I do, Okay, all right. He looked very, very uninterested.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
I'm like, I've never been.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
More extremely uninterested in something, maybe in my entire sports history.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
Yeah, I mean, I can't. I can't even make it up.
It's crazy. I might be.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
I mean, it might be the most disinterested thing I've
ever I've ever heard.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
Not from you. I mean I heard this earlier today.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
I was extremely I'm totally interested.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
Yeah, like I don't.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
I don't care that well here pass list.
Speaker 5 (35:44):
Yeah that's fine and I don't care to.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Your I'm very invested.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Pass list.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
I'm invested now, Like.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
I was texting my wife and my daughter, but like,
look at this, like I'm super jealous and it ain't
no Nicks on my whole pants list.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
That's incredible that I can't and I got my door.
My daughter is twenty five. She's mad because she's a
Cooper Dezine, a Hall pants list girl, right, and she's
man because she's like I see it's not an older
woman like, oh hating poor Nikki getting hated on man
like just aat just getting.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
Hated One's all he said. If they get brought up
in our group chat toad in. One of the comments
that have me dying is Cooper Degine and John c
And are now Eskimo brothers. Like that's the greatest thing
to come out of this.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
I love it, dude, I love it. I listen.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
I think it's great for the kid. I mean just
from a you know, saying I think it's great.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Your little culture, grow up a little bit man, all right,
I see you know what I mean, like, go to
ways for him?
Speaker 5 (36:59):
Yeah right, go two ways. Can't can screw his ass up?
We don't need that.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
No, no, definitely.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
Why do you think Tom lan is extremely disinterested in this?
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (37:12):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
I think when you start Dayton people may be more
famous than you. Yours some problems, so just my opinion. Yeah,
I get you good, you could already I already guarantee.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
It's it's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen. She's
good man, she's got you know what I mean, he's
gonna get she's got the wine company, right, so he's
gonna be popping bottles, no issue, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
So he's set. I wonder what I want to accuse
Mom thinks about it, though, you know mom's.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
Midwest moms too, She's she's just Midwest moms are a
little bit more up, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Baggage, you know what I mean, she does. He's got baggage.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
So, oh, my gracious said, I mean, it isn't good man.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
I picture Coopie and like being stiffler in uh. In
the American Pi move.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Move definitely gives me stiffler pies. Bro that I gotta
watch how I say that stiffler poes but.
Speaker 5 (38:31):
Stiffy vibes.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Man always like slippery slope? Are we're talking about our
Kelly and Pete did.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Once a week we mentioned always our Kelly and Pete
Dicky And then if you like their songs, are you
a creep?
Speaker 5 (38:46):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (38:47):
Like you get baby wheeling up at night like you
can't you played in the car like your buddy, You
got Didy, So you're like, it's what bumps really like?
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Yo? What he's talking about?
Speaker 5 (39:02):
Man?
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Like you gotta be careful? Uh the boy Joe checking
think about it.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
He says, Phillies are stuck loyalty and content to make
the playoffs, but by no means enough to advance, probably
outbid themselves for real Muto, who should be happy with
the offer he got?
Speaker 5 (39:16):
Yeah good.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
I think they're just backed themselves in the corner of
room in Utah. What are they gonna do?
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Is even bigger than ro Muto. Man, there ain't nobody
out there. The thing, Joe, you're spot on right, but
your spot on with content that's the key word. You
used here is content. John Middleton lied to our faces.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
You understand what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
John Middleton lied to everybody in this fan base. So
go smoke another cigar and go lie to somebody else
because stupid money was never done.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
Semi stupid, they imagine, not just payroll.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
So until you beat somebody else's payroll out, you haven't
spent some stupid shit you went, you went, Hey, semi stupid.
I'll stand by this. I don't dislike John Middleton. He's
done a lot for this franchise. I'm not here to
burn him down in any way. But what I'm saying is,
don't tell me one thing, and you never leave, leave
the MLB and payroll. So until you do that, nothing
(40:13):
but stupid. Maybe the Harper contracts the only stupid thing
you did.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Na see.
Speaker 4 (40:19):
No, no, you won't get you wanna get into this man.
Nam Chatto is a better play, better player today. And
the long jevity would be longer. You can write it
down somewhere. The jevity will be longer. He could be
a dirt back to you, just like both of them.
That stupid money that's gonna stie both of them, shined
Alonzo to you have.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Is Harper and up.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Hey, I feel like he's the guy.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
I feel like I feel like he's a nine to
one Homer guy.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
He might be. Yeah, you're right, he might be if
we watched him every night.
Speaker 5 (40:59):
I could be wrong, but.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
I feel but I feel like you go Turner, Schwarber, Harper, Alonzo.
It's fun, that's pretty fun. It's a good time ballpark.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
Well those Guarcia that yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
I just I just can't see guar See in the
four hoole right now.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
We're just talking.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
We're just talking to hear you, but I hear you.
He potentially couldn't be.
Speaker 5 (41:21):
Yeah, Like I'm not here to tell you he's the
four hole hitter tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (41:25):
You know, I still think you you have to do
something else right or or it wasn't If alf Baum
is the guy that you can rekindle a relationship with.
Speaker 5 (41:33):
That's the guy that I'm not ready to run out
of town.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
I know everybody else in this fan base is, but
that production just doesn't grow either.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Like becauldn't where he's that tom it's because of where
he's at.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
I think I think you'll agree with this.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
If alf Boum wasn't projected to be your cleanup hitter.
I don't think people would have the ill will towards
out Boum.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Because I'm going to hit her. He's not a four
hole hitter.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
He's not Rob supporting him.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Rob Thompson and his whole analytical department should punch himself
square in the deck for this kind of move. And
excuse my language, that's what should happen. That's really it's ridiculous.
I mean, the guy who's been a professional hitter all
throughout his career we talk about, which is not stating
all the way up. So people want to do this
with me, we can do it all day. The guy's
built for seven, he's built for maybe a two hole
because he hits. The guy on runners really well. I mean,
(42:22):
he's what the game guys, I don't know. You can
bring all the spreadsheets out and everything else you want
to bring out to me, and I want to watch
how a guy hits and tell you a professional hitter, Okay,
tesn't strikeout of time.
Speaker 5 (42:32):
They're the guys that are like the contact guys that
you need.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
That's why don't say everybody want to run Hi out
because he's not Gonnet thirty five homers because.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
He's a big guy.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
So what he's got so much better defensively, Okay, he's
a good hitter. Now, if you can bove Garcinia in
the four and maybe Boone can get down and like
the six or even the five, it's a little lot
less pressure. I'm not ready to move on from him,
but I don't know why we're not talking about a
two or three year deal.
Speaker 5 (42:55):
Extend him. He's young enough. I don't know why he's
a He's a good teammate. There have been teammate issues.
There's never been any of that kind of stuff.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
I understand the nicky NICKI moving on that, that that's
over with that, that relationship is severed. This is one
I don't believe should have been severed, you know. I
just don't unless you've got a bigger move to be me. Yeah,
Like that's why I'm like, guys, you don't have a
bigger move if you're gonna sell me on that, O
kemp smack yourself in the face.
Speaker 5 (43:19):
Like what do we do? Sorry?
Speaker 2 (43:21):
No, I'm with you. I I want to I want
to get you little.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
I don't want to get you fired up, but I'm
just want to go back a little bit because I
totally disagree with you with the stupid money thing, because
I I, well, here hear me out for a second.
I think it's because you can't look at stupid money
now as opposed to what stupid money was when they
signed Bryce Harper. Because when he did sign Bryce Harper,
(43:45):
that was stupid money right at that time. That was
compared to whatever the Phillies have ever done. That was
stupid money, right, So you can't look four or five
years later and be like, oh, well he's still tips
the Dodgerton's men like that. Back then they didn't, so
right now, it's hard for you to say that he
was wrong. No, maybe he misspoken and realized what stupid
(44:09):
money was going to be three four years later down
the road, or five years, whatever the hell it is.
But back then he did spend stupid money. The problem is,
we can talk about this all day long. The problem
is gods just didn't freaking produce, right. They just went
cold at the worst possible times and it stopped.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
That's that I think is the biggest thing is, yes,
you did spend it at one time, right, You spent
it on Harper. You spend it on Turner. He spend
it on Schoerburt the first time, you spend it on
Nikki the first time, but it stopped. Right, Stupid money
is it doesn't stop. That's what That's what the Dodgers
are doing. I mean, the Dodgers are being linked at
school like how stupid is that? And they're they're leaked
(44:49):
on everybody just because they know, they know that they
could just they have the money care. They don't care.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
They'd rather win World championships every year and make more
money off of that and pay the lux Rick Daxon
that you kissed my ass and I.
Speaker 3 (45:02):
Agree with you, and I agree with you. They did
at one point spend stupid money. But it feels like
we talked about earlier, that luxury, whether it's that luxury
tax or whether it's or whether the cigars aren't selling
as well, that that will is drying up because there's
no stupid money. There is opportunities out there for stupid money.
This all season, there's opportunities out there and it's not there. Right,
(45:26):
Bregmant is stupid money because of what you're gonna have
to pay because of what he declined forty million in Boston, right,
that's stupid money. Tucker's stupid money. That's your stupid money, Alonzo,
stupid money, Like you're signing all those with JT and
with Kyle Schwarber. Now we're talking, but but as it
(45:49):
stands right now, outside of a Cuban Nick Cassianos, we're
just running it back.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Well, listen, I don't I don't agree with running it
back at all. I I didn't want to sign ORB.
But for us to sit here and pretend that the
Dodgers didn't defer almost the entire Contractani right, that we're kidding,
but maybe maybe they.
Speaker 2 (46:11):
Don't have anybody to play with.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Like if we're listen, if we're if we're out there
spending super money, you want to bring in all these
these cats that are way overpriced and overvalued and put
them in here, and then we still don't freaking win.
We'll be pissed off and bitching that we spent money
on the wrong freaking guys. That will be mad that
we spend all the money we trained the farces w
way and we got nothing.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
Like we're never freaking happy. Let's the blame is these
guys didn't.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
Fucking produce Timmy Mudia, Cody hell.
Speaker 4 (46:45):
You don't think what I'm saying is deflecting from some
of these losers.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
Don't think that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (46:50):
No, no, no, these guys got to win, I mean,
and that's where they're at.
Speaker 5 (46:56):
I get it. But that doesn't mean you can't go
another thirty million dollars a year old player. Don't. I
don't like, don't don't get me.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
And that's where upsets me with him because he's always
been mostly in. That's probably a better phrasing, mostly in
that that's how I look at the field up He's like,
they're mostly in.
Speaker 5 (47:13):
They're pretty much in.
Speaker 4 (47:15):
Like it's never that I feel like, Yo, they got
they got, They just they just see their whole you
know what on the table.
Speaker 5 (47:22):
Yea.
Speaker 4 (47:23):
And all I'm saying is I'm not saying money wins either.
I'm not saying you gotta spend it all to win too.
You need to develop a farm system. You need enough
guys coming out of your farm system. It can be
a part of your team, so you ain't spending on everything.
And that's been part of their problem too.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
To your point, you know, I mean, night h Right
to your point, Tom says, back park, it's Wednesday in May.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
It's pack.
Speaker 5 (47:49):
It's pack.
Speaker 4 (47:50):
It's probably not like you. I'm there, you know what
I mean. We'll be down there and it's like we're
gonna spend the money. We're gonna go down there, and
I'm not that sko for a lot. I'm literally telling
you go trade the number five prospect, the number fifteen,
the number twenty five, number thirty five, the number fifty,
and go trading for Kettle Marte because they'll do the deal.
(48:12):
Like they'll do the deal like goodness great, just go
get it done.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
Like I'm at that point I want Marty.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Here's a nugget about Marte too, is he gets his
ten and five service like the first week of the year.
So first week of the year, he gets the ability
to to veto every trade.
Speaker 5 (48:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
So if they are truly trying to move him, if
that is truly part of their their all season, it's
gonna happen in the off season because they're not going
to go into the year letting him get that ten
and five and allowing him to veto everything. True.
Speaker 1 (48:49):
Yeah, I would love some Cats could tell Martey Man
that that changes the whole dynamic of the offense.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
Your idea last week Tommy of of just revamping the whole,
the whole infield. It was, it was awesome. I was
so on board and like I was, I'm not I'm
not a huge you know again, when it first came out,
I wasn't a huge go trade for him. But now
at this point you had nothing else to do, you
know what I mean? And I had another to do
with him. It was just again adding another plus thirty
(49:18):
guy who's owed one hundred million dollars to this, to
this payroll, Like what are we doing with ourselves? But
here in a bunch of you guys and and a
bunch of guys on our Wednesday, and especially then watching
the Phillies kind of flounder, flounder here with with some impact,
and then now you're like, well, there's nothing else to do,
(49:40):
Like you got to go get it. Switch hit her
in the top of your lineup and behind Turner in
front of Swimmer and you move, you go move, or
even if you put him at second base, you know,
in that scenario, I'd hate get rid of Stop because
I think he's the better hitter them.
Speaker 5 (49:56):
Maybe I don't get rid of him. That's where we
may put ashore we turn a third, Well.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
That's what that was your scenario last week?
Speaker 4 (50:01):
Yeah, or maybe starts out and booms caps right, because
you don't have to do moving and shaking there.
Speaker 5 (50:07):
I mean, that's up to them to figure out.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
I mean I at this point you probably keep start
and time to play short.
Speaker 5 (50:13):
We turn the third, you get that corner production too.
You take a little wear and tear off of them.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
Maybe yeah, way and shortstop so and you give him
whole spring training to go work on me trying to
win or guys or you know, some things are bigger.
Speaker 5 (50:26):
Than us exactly.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
And I think maybe you moved Bryce back to his
regular position essentially a position that you know, would you
know he was a shortstop correct.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
The World Series with him in a short stop.
Speaker 5 (50:39):
Ball, Yes, you know. To me, he hit better there.
I don't know why. Some guys just hit better in
certain positions. They're comfortable, yeah, and nothing.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
He's not comfortable a second now, I'm sure he is,
But you guys get what I'm saying. I will just
mix things up because you can change. You can change
what you have too, just to feel different going in
of the year that there's changes being made, and we
did different things, and you know we're experiment.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
Yeah, Vegas says, what would you trade for for Paul Schimes?
Speaker 2 (51:09):
Everything?
Speaker 3 (51:11):
Everything? Yeah, I might even trade everything for one year
of scoob and then and then you let them walk.
We discussed this last night, like the hypothetic, the hypothetical
Scooball deal. You may be able to keep Aden Miller
because Detroit is so loaded up the middle, like the
(51:31):
number one prospect in baseball's Kevin McGonagall and he's a
Detroit te He's the Detroit tire shortstop, right, So you
may be able to keep Aden Miller out of that
and still potentially hypothetically trade for trade for Scooby Snacks.
Speaker 1 (51:45):
Scooby Sack. Would you imagine that rotation? Damn, that's a
that's a championship rotation, man for sure.
Speaker 3 (51:52):
Scooby Wheeler. Oh chance drops the year three?
Speaker 1 (51:56):
Oh hey's sick man, it's oh man, boys, let's been
good man. Ye know, real fans before we get out
of here, Uh, put your guys on the spot because
it's a holiday time, right, So Christmas is next week
and we're all thankful for ship. We're all you know,
we put our little five year old suit on and
(52:16):
you know under the tree. If if I asked you,
I'll ask you first, Greg, if you if Sandy can
give you a championship, Andy could give you a championship
on only one team in Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
Who's it going to be?
Speaker 3 (52:34):
It's gonna sound strange. I want to see a Flyers championship.
I want to see a Flyers championship. I want to
see the Stanley Cup.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
I dig it, and isactly because it's been that long.
Speaker 3 (52:45):
It's been that long. I love watching hockey, Like, I'm
so much more of a hockey than an NBA guy.
I watch a random I watch whatever random light naked
late game is on TNT or or whatever. Right, Like,
I'll we're like a bunch of other guys watching that
league game on basketball. Right, I'm watching the hockey, right.
I got the gout the ESPN plus quad plex. I
(53:07):
love quad screen hockey. So I want to see the Flyers.
I want to see a championship. Obviously, we've seen the Phillies,
We've seen it, two Eagles. Those are great ones. But
to me, the one that's been the longest is the
is the is the Flyers.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
I dig it, I dig What do you say, Tom?
Speaker 5 (53:23):
That's a great one. I can't disagree.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
I'll go sixers because I never saw one, right, never
saw one.
Speaker 5 (53:31):
Would love to see one.
Speaker 4 (53:33):
I think as something about making the NBA finals still
to this day, that's a special.
Speaker 5 (53:39):
Yeah, just like making this the Sanley Cup Finals.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
There's something special about it.
Speaker 5 (53:45):
Saman goes through the World Series. We know this is
super Bowl, but we've had those experiences. We haven't had
the other two. Sand Santa wanted to be really kind,
you know. He was just I want to give us both,
you know what I mean, while you're here, all right, A.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Little stupid money bud, a little stupid that we go on.
Speaker 2 (54:07):
I like it, but I like it. I see it,
I can dig it. I mean, h.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Yeah, well I'll get I'll get a little. I'll say
I was gonna say union the mess with you guys,
but I will, I will. I'm gonna take the easy route.
And I firmly believe this is for me. It would
hard the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
He's like, I'm out, I'm out.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
Here's the thing, man, I need the Phillies and I
know we want to know way. I get it, but
I'll get a little sentimental real fast. But when the
Phillies went to the World Series against Houston. You know
that San Diego Series. You know, you have moments in
your life, and I was on a family vacation with
(54:58):
my parents and my my my in laws and my
kids and my wife and and we sat around and
just happened to fall when at San Diego Cereal.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
We were high fiving.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
He thought we were so hype, and I was like, dude,
I just want that moment because I was so invested
in the Harper and the Sworeber in the JT and
like I'm like, I just I need to say because
I just know how big that would be for my
family personally and how incited we would be, and I
just think it's unfinished business. I just don't I don't
(55:28):
want to be sitting here twenty years from now telling
my kids or you know, I'll probably dead in twenty years,
but I don't want my kids as I say, you
know what. You know, Harper never would be able to win. Man,
that was a great team, but they never won. And
I just think that Harper's given so much. And now
he's catching some strings now because we haven't won, But
(55:48):
I just think that he's given so much. It just
would suck if we cannot win with this corps man.
And so I for me, Sandity needs to give me
a Phillies World series for sure.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
Agree with that one either. I mean they've been knocking
on the doorstep, knock on the doorstep. Couldn't get over it.
Speaker 4 (56:07):
Uh, I'm not gonnasider and say Harper is given so much,
but he's given a lot.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
I always gott to add something in. I always gotta
add something in there. Give the credit flipping in, you know.
Speaker 4 (56:22):
What I mean, flipping in like that's for extension. Two
years ago, I formally asked he knew his play was
going downhill.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
Probably that was agent tal. I'm not putting that all hard. Probably,
I'm not putting that all hard.
Speaker 5 (56:42):
Smoothie and send an email.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
Instagram. Is TikTok famous now? Uh?
Speaker 2 (56:50):
I said that.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
I'm an I seen it off Bryce Harper with the
new mustache, Like what is that?
Speaker 5 (56:59):
By the way, how many comments on TikTok? Are you
in the cage?
Speaker 2 (57:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (57:05):
I can imagine the amount of people because like I
think a guy can't have a life, you know what
I mean. I'm not and I'm not posting board price Harper.
You know, I mean, I'm not I crushed them, but
that being said, you know what I mean, Like guys
do not have lives outside of no not.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
They're not not at all, not at all. I can't
do nothing.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
I love those comments. Hey, while the guy's probably been
up since four in the kids five, I've rolled out
at ten o'clock to go to work.
Speaker 4 (57:35):
Yeah, I being like, oh you hit to that hit
today price and the guy's made it smoothie.
Speaker 5 (57:39):
At seven am. Yeah, I'm gonna get there the scothy guys.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
Okay, that's why, like God won't allow certain things right,
like you would never allow me to like probably a
professional sport like in today's world of like social media,
because I would be the guy saying you know what
I mean, I would be the guy comment back, you.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
Would be you would be.
Speaker 5 (58:03):
Oh, I would to be well, no, I want to
be jets because I'd be me.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
I know what I'm saying, Like you would like I
love I loved.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
I love how she's burying people, especially the media.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
And she wants to throw it right back who she
she was. I bumped at a.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Thread and got blocked today because I was going back
with with with her on a what the hell is
the guys that John Stalinos or steal.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
Yeah he poasted something, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
That I got in there and and then actually you.
Speaker 1 (58:31):
Know I'm blocked, but uh, come on, dog really like
that's what That's what our media is in the town.
Speaker 2 (58:38):
Now.
Speaker 1 (58:39):
You know, you can't say no everybody everybody catching catching feelings. Now,
I don't get you know, I don't get it. All right, boys,
great stuff, great stuff, man checking in man as always,
we appreciate it. Make sure you'd like to subscribe like
we do. Always listen. I don't know about you, Tom,
but you know, no no one filter Philly for me.
(58:59):
Next week, I'm gonna be celebrating Christmas, so I know
you'll be celebrating Christmas.
Speaker 2 (59:04):
Greg, I know you'll be celebrating Christmas.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Definitely. You're gonna wait out for Santa. Yeah. Am I
doing a t D Wednesday night and roll over to
midnight just so we can try and catch Santa.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
Yeah, we gotta do the put the.
Speaker 3 (59:24):
Track.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
I'll be tracking. I had that set up in every
room now.
Speaker 5 (59:32):
Oh yeah, I'm gonna try to get my stuff done
Tuesday night. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
Oh yeah, I'm not a wrapper, oh me, neither.
Speaker 5 (59:40):
I am not good at it. Just give me like
a bunch of bags and tissue paper.
Speaker 4 (59:46):
The tissue paper there, just yeah, here you going up
the toy paper up.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
That's where that's where I missed. The malls back in
the day. I used to go stop it and just
had the people lined up.
Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
Yeah, especially especially the department stores.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
I missed. Even curled the boats man man. Absolutely, Oh yeah,
the past.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Now, my god, it's only a couple of balls, only
a couple of malls left by me. You got Jersey
bull Are you tell your Jersey right? You got any
any popping malls? And Jersey left the Cherry Hill mall
I got still the.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Cherry Morristown are still there. And I don't know that
popping would.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
Yeah, I'll tell you what quick before we get out
of here. I went to UH on Black Friday weekend.
It's actually me and my wife's wedding anniversary weekend, so
we always go away every year.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
And I go to Lancaster.
Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
And we were in Lancaster and I went to a
ball called Park City Mall. I'll tell you what it brought.
It was like went back twenty years. I couldn't park
I got in there. You were like I was like,
holy ship, people come from.
Speaker 5 (01:01:09):
It or some buggy then buggy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
No, the Amish, this is that past amage car. I
stayed in Amised country, don't were some buggies. But we
went a little pasts. We went to the urban area,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:01:21):
And then it had been up there a lot been
up there a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
Yeah, it's our spot, man, it's a great spot.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
I got family up in that area. It's chrisy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
We love it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
We love it, man, It's like a great weekend showing
with the Amish. We we did a I'm telling man,
we did an armored score and uh we sat in
the living room with Ike and Sarah. I remember it
was it was ther house, no you know, no TV.
Sarah was there with the crooked toes, the hairy legs
or whatever, and it was rough, like I got to
(01:01:55):
keep looking like just just look I eye to eye, right,
but they.
Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Don't look at the toe. Don't look at the toe.
Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
They were like, withes bro, what's that she needs?
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
She needs a lot?
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Nice lady though, right, But it was it was pretty
interesting the way they just would sit around.
Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
Shot.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
I'm forced Sarah, but yeah, I was just like I
was like, I gotta get out of here.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
She's definitely not listening.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
Yeah yeah, highly doubt it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Yeah real fast. Now we speak about that because it's
popped my mind.
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
So to my wife.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Now, they're not supposed to have electricity, right, you know,
they're not supposed to be techno savvy and all this
ship they have. Why do they have the quickest credit
card machines ever? But you're giving her car liken. I'm like,
holy ship, Like I'm usually wait process approved.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
Receipting that. Man, they're like ding being done.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
And I was like, they like perfected technology.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
But they can't have any but they can't.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
