Pliny and Daniel travel down to deep south Texas, practically Mexico, for another hunt in Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. This is technically and archery deer hunt where we are each allowed a buck and a doe, but this is also the home of feral hogs and exotic Nilgai Antelope. We will primarily focus on Nilgai this trip, but will take a whitetail if the opportunity arises. We recorded this series "Semi-Live" style, with an episode of each day of the hunt, starting with our scouting day. Stay tuned for future episodes, rolling out daily!

Speaker 1 (00:06):
What's up, y'all?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Welcome to a revival of the Adventure one podcast. It
has been ages, ages since I've done an episode. I
haven't done one myself in a long time, and haven't
done with one with Daniel here and even longer.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
It's been a while.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
So we are down here on another hunting adventure, all
the way down south in the valley Laguna Attascosa National
Wildlife Refuge.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
We're basically in Mexico. Yeah, I'm pretty right there.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
So for context, if you want to listen to just
an exciting kind of hunt story of lots of ups
and downs and crazy rabbit trails and just a struggling
but also feeling some success as well, go check out
the semi live series way back. I don't know what
episode it is, but way back there's like three or
four episodes back to back where we recorded a podcast

(00:58):
episode every day of the hunt, so you can kind
of live it vicariously through us. So that's what Daniel
and I are going to do today. So we drove
down all yesterday was a travel day and we're coming
from DFW area and so we're basically, like Daniel said,
down in Mexico, and so are driving it up.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
It was nine hours. Nine hours, Yeah, maybe a little
bit longer. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
We stopped at Chili's for dinner and got a mediocre meal.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Chili's and Corpus Christie. I mean, it's the best thing
to have going not a lot there, But you know,
it worked out just as a rant. Like we talked
about this earlier, just has nothing to do with hunting.
We went to Chili's. We both got some sort of
a salad and it was like eighteen dollars for a salad. Yeah, like,
what in the world's going on right now? It's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
But we were We were pretty excited driving down because
election was the day before our travel day, so we
were reliving all the election highlights and seeing that we
got Trump is number forty seven coming on strong.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
So we woke up in America again.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, it'll be good going back home. I was I
was wondering if I had to be all strapped on
this trip going down to border towns, but you know,
it just brought my bow and I think we'll be
all right.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I mean, the last time we were here was four
years ago during the Trump by An election, And the
craziest part about it is we didn't know who the
president was, like almost until we left Laguna.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Well, we were driving down through the night and Trump
was way ahead. Yeah, and then we're like, dude, I'm exhausted,
got it, and we just like pulled off this side
of the road and just like took a goofy little
truck truck nap and then turned on the radio at
three in the morning and we're like, oh, what, what's
just happened? What it all flipped?

Speaker 1 (02:40):
And then lawsuits proceeded.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah, yeah, it got crazy, but we made it down here,
and this year we're not camping.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Which, by the way, like pro call by plenty, he's like, hey,
do you want to get an Airbnb? And when we
were here four years ago, I mean the camping part's fun,
but just for everyone to know it's eighty eight degrees today, yeah,
and I mean that is brutal. When you're out biking
around miles and miles miles walking through grass it's as
tall as you are, and then you go back and

(03:09):
lay on a cot and it's eighty five degrees out. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Most people, when you think of hunting camp, you think
of wal tins, a roaring campfire, maybe a drink beside
the fire a nice cot a company, but like beyond
like here, it's like you said, eighty eight degrees today,
about ninety six percent humidity. Yeah, my minos would fog
up every time I would take them out of my bag,

(03:32):
like mosquitoes, like crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
So we're and by the way, that the really nice
thing about this is got back. Air conditioning's blasting, and
I took a shower. Yeah, dude, the shower felt good.
It felt really good.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
And my wife made some inchiladas for us, so we
just threw those in the oven and then just had
had a good meal and now we're just sitting here
relaxing with a cold beer. But I guess the point
of this episode is just to talk about our scouting day.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah, I thought it was pretty good.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
So we we got in. We got in literally like
the minute that we were allowed to get in, because
we wanted just to seize that that first hour of
the day, those twilight hours. So got in, got bikes unloaded.
I think everything with bikes went went pretty good.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Went well except for it. So when we first started biking,
we were in an area that we hunted four years ago.
And by the way, we hunted Laguna. Then we got
drawn for Tinny Intate twice in row. Yeah, and then
last year we didn't get drawn for anything nothing. So
we're back in Laguna this year, which is exciting because
it's been four years. I don't remember the grass on
the trails being as high as it was today.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Well, even the whole area that we drove it was
like the field where you shot your dough. Yeah, there
was no just a grassy field and forest yeaheah.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
But when we're so the bikes worked perfectly, except for
I think both of us had like little birds nests
in our break areas because it's just so much grass
piling up in there. Yeah. But other than that, it
worked out really well. Yeah, so got that going. I'm
out of shape by the way. Oh me too.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
And and you know what, Daniel got his mountain bike
and then outfitted it with this big cushy seat and
I the granddad's seat.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yeah, they called it the granny Fanny.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And I had this Schwin bike that had like this
pretty sleek, pretty high tech looking seat on there, and man,
it was just pound in my butt.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
It was not fun.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
So on our little lunch break, I'm like, yeah, I
got to go to Walmart.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I'm like, by the way, is exactly what I did
four years ago? Yeah, because I realized, like this is brutal.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I'm like, sorry, I made fun of you for the
granny Fanny because you're you're one hundred percent right. Yes,
But went into an area where we had seen a
lot of deer and nil guy. Well, I guess I
had been through there, but I had never really hunted
right in that spot.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, there was a spot that I hunted I think
the first two days four years ago. And I saw
in the first morning someone had shot and gey cow
and two other neil Get cows came running past, and
it's like this, it looks like an old, dried up
riverbed that's full of grass and trees. Now, yeah, but
then I saw herd of probably I mean at least

(06:13):
forty deer. That's insane. It was huge, and there was
there's two giant bucks. There's a bunch of bucks, but
two giant bucks at the front and at the back.
I saw a twelve point that was just I mean,
it was it was, it was. It was the biggest
deer I've ever seen in my life. But they were
eighty five yards for me and I have a bow
and they're in the middle of a field and I
Am not going to go after them, so we're like, hey,

(06:34):
let's go check that spot out. You kind of see.
The only challenge with that spot four years ago is
it was just packed with people, like there was in
that little riverbed area. Probably over a five hundred yard area,
there's probably ten maybe more hunters, which is a lot
when you're bow hunting.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
And every everybody's map scouting to get down here, because no,
it's so far from everything, nobody really gets boots on
the ground. So it's one of those areas that from
just looking at satellite imagery you look at it and
you're like, yeah, that's a good area, good area. And
so it's not it's not easy to access, but it's
not too hard.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
No, it's two miles on the bike. It's on trails
for the most part. It's just the trails. They're not
paved and they're not rock, they're not gravel, they're they're
tough trails.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah, So we went to that area and then we
just didn't really see much.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah. So I don't know, I feel like we got there
at the right time, Like we got there perfect, like
right at sun sunrise, yeah, you know, yeah, twenty minutes intollegal. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yeah, so didn't see anything and it might have just
been a fluke. They just maybe weren't moving today and
maybe they'll be there tomorrow. But I think we know
that a whole lot of people are going to be
in that area, so we're just gonna skip it.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Well, I think our goal too, Like I only saw
those two Neil guys saw the other deer when I
was there those two days besides I heard but the
goal is Neil guy. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
And we've gone back and forth about this, like we've
had several conversations like, hey, if you you see a buck,
are you gonna shoot it? Well, like duh, I mean
if it's good, if.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
It's a dink.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
But honestly, there's no Angily restriction done here, so legal deer, dude,
legal deer on like rugged public land, anything's cool. Yeah,
but we like, okay, a dough, you're gonna shoot it?
Like yeah, yeah, I think we both love shot.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
If it's a if it's a big dough. And obviously
when you get to day three, four five, absolutely it's
it's let them fly. I think the first two days,
I'd like to either shoot an ice buck or a
Neil guy. But I will tell you if there's a
dough twenty five yards to me, I am an absent smoker.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I the only thing that will pass up on the
first day is a dink buck and and a hog.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah, I might pass up a hog on the second
day too, because what we noticed last time was by
day three the movement had gotten significantly lighter. Like day
one was heavy, Day two was decent. Day three was
like just dropped off a cliff.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
And we're not like actively not choosing to shoot deer.
I mean we're here. We're here for a deer hunt, right,
we see, but we're just making a point to position
ourselves where we have an opportunity at nil guy, because
I think there's some places down here where you look
at it and you're like, that could be a good
deer area, but I don't know if there's no guy here.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I mean that's what we saw. Ten there's one one
I think it was the I'm not going to say
which side because I can't remember, but one side was
heavy deer, and then there was an area that was
heavy Neil guy. And we had hunted the heavy deer
side for a while, and plenty shot of dough out
there two years ago. And then we found the Neil
Guy side and we're like, yeah, we're never going back
to the.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Deer side, never say never, but we're gonna spend.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
A lot of time now we know what's where.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
So then just cruising around on the bikes, we spotted
some nil guy pretty far out what do you think
six probably six plus yeah, yeah, six or seven hundred
yards away, and like I saw him glass them up, like, okay,
that's a calend a calf. Oh there's another one count
of calf, I mean, and see them. And then we
looked back up and they looked like there were one
hundred yards left of where they were, and ano, there's

(10:06):
three cows and three cows. And then kept kept on
riding and the wind was bad for us, and I'm
pretty sure they got our way, and so I just
looked and I saw Neil guy running and I'm like,
the same group is that or is it different one?
We looked over and there were five cows and five calves,
yeah guy, and I think they were just bedded down

(10:26):
that field and they were just kind of getting up
and walking around and we saw them, dude, and that's
what's crazy, Like these things have good eyesight, but they
absolutely winded us six six hundred yards away, So like
these things are are keyed on like there, it's it's amazing,
like they are rugged animals, but their senses are are

(10:47):
just really impressive. Yeah, but went through that area, kind
of made a plan. I think that's where we can
go tomorrow morning. So we're pretty excited about that. Then
we went to check out some other areas, went down
this one road with not much there. Then we went
down another path and I'll let you.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Ran into the swamp. We're going down it, and probably
halfway through, we realized we're trying to get to a
spot that was beyond it, and we thought we could
just cut over this little area and like intersect into
another trail. We realized that little area is probably a
little canal, but we're like, if it's small enough, we
can just jump over it or whatever. And as we
get closer to the canal, we literally just ride into

(11:28):
a swamp. Yeah, and it's probably just under your knee height.
So we got off the bike, started walking them, walked
up to the canal and it was probably eight feet
wide and it's like, there's no way we're getting over that. Yeah.
But the worst part is we saw pig tracks and
pig walls everywhere, and I'm pretty sure there was pig
piss and poop did the whole walls smelled like it's

(11:51):
just nasty, and we're walking in that. If we were
hunting pigs, I'd be like, this is a great spot
right here, but we're wide out in the open. I'm
sure they're in there right now. Yeah, for sure at night.
And I think that was maybe the only moment today
where I think Plenty and ice Spirits kind of got
crushed a little bit because they're like, there's no play here.
We just biked in. I don't know, it wasn't that far,

(12:12):
but we biked in a mile or so, but.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
It was just, you know, you have your bike in
the the lowest gear possible, and man, you're just like
anywhere just you're just churning butter, but you're flinging like
mud and hogs around.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
We deal everywhere. Yeah, and so much so that when
we left then we went to the next spot, We're like,
let's just walk. Yeah, we didn't even bring the bike.
Let's give the bikes a ride. I'm tired of riding
a bike and all this just garbage.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yeah, But then it's interesting because like some of the
trails we've gotten on the bikes, I'm like, oh, I'm
so glad I have a bike. This is awesome, We're perfect,
We're just powering through. And then some are just like
this sucks.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Yeah, I'd rather just walk.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
And there's a lot of folks down here with the
bikes and man, I mean, I kind of like I'm
coveting it. But I also people are pushing the limits
I think because it was originally it was like, oh,
you can walk in here, and yeah, you can also
ride a bicycle. Yeah, And now then it was e bikes,

(13:10):
and now there's some that just like yeah, yeah, I'm like,
does that even okay? That one has pedals on it,
but you ain't using them. And then people like I
have I have a little lightweight trailer that's kind of
our our I guess it's our meat wagon. Yeah, if
we kill something, we're going to basically go back grab

(13:32):
that use that to pack out. But we're not really
relying on that for gear. And I'm seeing people now
because of e bikes, they have a trailer with a
pop up blind and a tripod and just all kinds
of like people are just building lots of equipment, and
I think our goal is just to be a little
bit more nimble, a little bit more flexible. We both

(13:54):
have a little like half blind kind of little pop
up things, not like a whole hub style bline, but
just something to kind of hide to your backpack and
go in with and it can just hide some of
your gear. You can kind of dug behind it a
little bit so something can't see your face.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
So we went we went there, so we went to
the wet trail, then we walked, and then we came
back and we were going down to the end of
this this road to check out another lot or you
so many trucks. There's four or five trucks, and that's
where he saw the guy with the e bike dragging
you know, all kinds of gear.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
And we're like, all right, I think it's a really
cool area and from that point you can go a
lot of different directions. But I think we just were
kind of discouraged by the number of people in there. Like,
even if it's good man, I'd rather my competition be
the animals. Rather than like I'm I'm racing the guy
next to me to fight something.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
So I feel like we started out really hot when
we saw those ten yeil guy and we saw a
deer somewhere around the way. I can't remember where, but
we saw one one little dough and then we went
and got the water stuff, walked, found all the trucks
and that's when Plenty's like, let's go get my my
granny fanny. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Like see, so that's what we did well, walmart, run,
got some lunch, came back, took a little nap, and
then we went back at it this afternoon. And when
I woke up from my nap and then I was
trying to figure out where we were going to go,
I was kind of discouraged because, like, go back to
this unit, explore it more.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
I Mean, the challenge here, honestly is it's probably twenty
thousand acres. It's huge, and there's like four or five
entry spots, and you don't know where to go.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
And there's a lot of those acres that are really
good areas and a whole lot of just nothing. Yeah,
and sometimes you have to just throw through a lot
of nothing to get to a little like.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
There's walls of brush, like ten feet high walls of brush. Yeah,
that you could not walk into.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
You could lay back with your pack on and just
like slowly lay against it and it would.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Hold it out. It holds you up, for sure. It's crazy.
I think it is. Yeah. So we were trying to
figure out, like, all right, do we go to this
one unit that's it's unit number one, that is like
the first unit you see, but when were driving out
we saw four trucks. Did we go to a different
unit that we saw no trucks but we know tomorrow
there's going to be a ton of trucks there, yeah,

(16:08):
Or do we go to the unit where we saw
the guy on the e bike and then just hike
in further and then there's like unit five and eight.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
It's all connected together, and so there's so many different
options and some are more accessible than others. Some you
feel like it's like exploring the area something. You feel
like it's competing with people. But the one we decided
to explore. Originally our plan was like, okay, try to Yeah,
let's let's go see if we can very quickly scout
two units just kind of blow through them. But then

(16:38):
the one that we chose to go out to first.
We found a lot of good sign so we ended
up spending a lot more time there.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
And what was cool is we saw it was thick,
like super thick, but then there was little pockets of fields. Yeah,
and it reminded me a lot of Tenny Inte, which
I was, you know, fired up about because I think
Tenny Into is a really cool spot to hunt because
it's super thick. But then you have areas where you
have shot lanes. So we saw that, like, man, this
is this could be promising. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
So and then after we saw deer there, we saw
a nice nil guy there. And by saying nice nil guy,
I'm like, wasn't a huge bowl. In fact, it was
a smaller cow.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Probably three hundred pound cow.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
But it would be the ideal meat animal to shoot
and pack out. That's my ideal, you know, fairly reasonably, yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
When And what was cool is like we were riding
our bikes on the trail and we saw it all
of a sudden, and it was it was probably at
the time, one hundred yards from us. So we got
off our bikes, laid them down, got behind all this
brush because it started coming like right towards us, and
we had we had absolutely had the right wind on it. Yeah,
and it was a pretty stiff wind, so she had
no clue we were there, and we kind of duck
behind these yucca trees or whatever you call them, yuckas,

(17:45):
and she kept coming closer and close. I think she
got within I think I ranged her at one point,
like sixty eight yards. Yeah, and we're both like, man,
if this was tomorrow, let's set up a play and
try to go get her.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Dude, in't just is a really good reminder of how
important wind is because comparing like the exact same type
of animal that winded us at six hundred yards now
with a parallel like crosswind, we're sixty something yards away
from that, and I had no idea we were there. Yeah, Yeah,
so important.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Although there was a funny moment Plenty's looking at her
through his binoculars and all of a sudden she turns
and looks at us, and I'm hidden behind like this
this yukka and so she can't see me. Yeah, And
I'm like I'm just watching Plenty. I'm like, dude, you're
really interested in like looking at this this hantelope.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
My biners are covering my face and I was like,
I can't if I put him down.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
I'm just doing like a face reveal. We were trying
to not blow that spot up because we're going to
try to hunt it maybe tomorrow night, I don't know,
but we wanted to not blow it up. And so
he's just sitting there for probably five minutes, just hold
hold my knarkers and you're like how your arm is
doing and getting tired. I'm like, I'm ready for her
to turn around, and then she did. I just squatted
down to rush. That was pretty cool. That was pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
And then heading out of that area, we saw couple
deer and man like I went from being just kind
of got my tail whooped this morning from you know,
right around in the mud and you know, being a
little bit We were seeing some stuff, but nothing that
was really obvious of like telling us what we were we.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Should do, right, We had no great data points.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yeah, and then after seeing this man, I got really
fired up again. So we've got a plan for the morning,
and then I think a plan for tomorrow evening as well.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
The only thing I didn't like about that was there
was a number of trucks in the parking lot there,
and one of the trucks had a camper on it,
and so we're like, is this guy just like spending
the night here?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Yeah, I mean cool for you for bringing a camper,
but that like there's a park down the road that's
exactly for this.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah, you can just park there.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
And setting up your camper at the trailhead. That's not
like there are some places where trailheads are like camping areas.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
This one's not.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
It's a twenty maybe maybe twenty car parking lot. It's
meant for like unloading bikes, and it's going hiking.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
I mean, when it's not hunting. When they don't hunt
this unit out, it's meant for hiking, horseback riding, biking, yeah,
and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
And so I'm like, really, you're gonna just bring park
your camper like in the first parking spot, Yeah, right
by the trailhead and like kind of a dick move,
but whatever, Like maybe we'll run into that guy, maybe not,
who knows, who knows, But.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
I feel like we have a solid plan for tomorrow,
and then what will be interesting about tomorrow is sitting
like sitting in it because we did a lot of
glassing today, but being actually in it and understanding, like
did it play out the way we want and that'll
help us to make better decisions for Saturday. Yeah, so
I'm excited about that. I think we get a hunt
two places tomorrow that are I mean, if what we're

(20:39):
talking about is if the first spot where we saw
this ten yeeal guy doesn't work out in the morning
and like we have seen no sign whatsoever, we might
hunt that other unit real hard for the next four days. Yeah,
and just try to see if we can get something down.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Because there's a lot of sign. There's a lot of
dents cover, but a lot of small open patches. There's
some here that you know, it'll be one hundred acre
open patch or even bigger sometimes and you're like, well,
I can look across it, but I can't really hunt.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
They don't have a rifle, Yeah, I have a bow.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Yeah, And so here with these open patches that are
one hundred and twenty yards across, you know, I'd like
them to be even smaller. I'd love the sixty meadow,
but there's just not a lot of that. Yeah, But
some of these patches that are you know, one hundred
yards across. I think that'll be great.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yeah, I too. And I think again coming back to
like we at least have a plan now, right, I
think I think this afternoon, before we headed out, we're
kind of like, well, let's go figure out whatever. We
kind of knew we want to sit where we want
to sit in the morning, and I think we're just
reserved to we'll just sit there at night too. But
now I feel like, all right, we have two places
that I feel pretty confident there's animals there. Yeah, and

(21:48):
if we play it right, I think those two places
could be good.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
And something that I think is cool that we've we've
already had a couple of conversations about is we're both
a lot more chilled out on this front. I think
we've both gotten to a point in our hunting stuff
where we realized, like, a hunt like this is tough.
We we know what to look for, we know how
to get onto animals, but we know stuff happens. And
so I think we're we're going into this optimistic and hopeful.

(22:15):
But I don't think either one of us are like, oh,
I have to shoot an eight point or bigger, or
like we're just kind of relaxing and enjoying it, and
we're gonna we're gonna give it a good try, but
we're not stressed out about it.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
A better mood anyway, because Trump won the elections helps
it sure helps, I will say, though, Like to that point,
I think the first time I came out here we
were talking about this earlier, I never bow hunted on
public land. I had no idea what to expect. This
is a hell of a way to get into it.
It's ninety five degrees, there's no bathroom, there's no like,
no real bathroom, no real shower, and it was absolutely brutal.

(22:50):
Like I got so pissed off. I was like, this sucks,
Like why am I here? I almost left and went
to sell.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
To quote Daniel Cooper, I saw buck. I'm I'm selling
my boat and going to the beach.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
And I shouldn't have missed it, by the way. But
it's just it's so much harder than sitting like we
were talking about now, Like you're tired, you go sit
in a deer stand at four o'clock in the morning.
You can take a nap and then wake up when
it's legal light and be like, oh, there's a deer
I'll shoot it right. It's so casual. This is not that.
This is so much harder.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
And I think something that also helps our spirits is
we went on a rifle hunt last weekend and we
both were able to get something down. So we've got
some meat in the cooler, got the monkey off our back.
So obviously we got a whole lot more tags, and
we got some nilgs running around, and that would be preferable,
but we're not in meat crisis. Man. We want to

(23:42):
get more, but I think we're both pretty chill for
this whole.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Yeah. I think it's gonna be a fun hunt, and
either way we're gonna have we're gonna have a good
time down here. With the place we're staying. It's right
on the what is this river here, the the Royo Colorado. Yeah,
so we're staying there and we're gonna we're about to
sign off and go fish.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Yeah, and it's just a brackish water, but yeah, we're
sitting here and we got football in in the background,
cold beer in front of this good air conditioner. Yeah,
and yeah, we got some lights in the water. So
I think with that we're gonna go see if we
can hook a trot or two, let's do it. So
we'll keep doing kind of semi live episodes the rest
of this hunt, and so y'all be able to gauge

(24:20):
kind of how our spirits and our success goes throughout.
But we're excited about it and I hope it's a
fun adventure. So until next time, stay safe, be free,
never stop seeking adventure.
