Psalm 62
1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

3 How long will you assault me?
Would all of you throw me down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4 Surely they intend to topple me
from my lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.[b]

5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God[c];
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.

9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.

11 One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,
12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.”

brutally attacked, they were brutally chasedaway, they were brutally murdered for the
gospel. This concept, this refugethat we rely on, is not just

running from his adversary because he wasabout to be killed, I want you
to take note that when Paul washad in jail because of having threats over
his life, refuge wasn't just word. It was a place and in our

scripture today Psalm sixty two. Itsays, truly, my soul finds rest
in God. My salvation comes fromHim. Truly, he is my rock
and my salvation. I want youto declare this right now, say my

soul finds rest in the refuge ofGod. Declare that my soul finds rest.
That's right. My salvation comes fromthe Lord. He is my rock.

He is my salvation, he ismy fortress. I will never be
shaken. I want you to imaginethe whole world around you is in chaos.

There's earthquakes, there's tragedy, there'smurders, there's killings. Everything around
the situation where you are the job, people are getting laid off, everything
is being just in chaos. ButI want you to picture a house on

(06:44):
your street. And this house isnot the normal house. No, no,
no. This house takes up thewhole block and it's built with huge
stones. One probably weighs the mouththat your house waist just one stone.
This house that's the refuge of God. That no matter what is going on

(07:14):
in the world, you run inthat place and you know that the peace,
the rest of God will find youthere. The salvation of God will
find you there, David says inPsalm sixty two, verse six, it

(07:36):
says, truly, God is myrock and my salvation. He is my
fortress. I will not be shaken. Although things are shaking around you,
with your emotions, with your peace, with your family, with your mind,
with death, with tragedy, withyour job, with uncertainty, you

(08:00):
run into that house. It's nota thought, it's not an imaginary thing.
David says, Truly, he ismy mighty rock. He is my
salvation. I will trust on theLord God. I want you to begin
to declare God, you are myrock. God, you are my salvation.

(08:28):
I will not be stirred. Iwill not be shaken. The Lord
is my salvation. The Lord ismy rock. My hope comes from him.
I find my rest in God.I want you to look at the
situation you're facing right now and beginto point at it, because the Rock

(08:54):
and the refuge has no comparison thatsituation. It's trying to blow over a
house that weighs more than it caneven imagine. It's trying to blow over
something that even the earthquake cannot shakedown. And that's where you are.
But guess what you're not in thishouse. And you're not afraid, You're

(09:20):
not shaken, you're not fearful.You're not running all over the place saying
God, where are you. You'renot going back and forth and saying God,
my enemies, God, what's happening? God, I try to do
this, and I'm about to dothis, and God, I don't know
what's happening in my life. No, you are at peace right when you
walk in those doors. You havethe peace of God that is surrounding you.

(09:46):
And you begin to say, God, surely, surely I trust in
you. I'm pour out my heart. So just take a deep breath,
he say, God, out thereis chaos, but in here it's with

(10:13):
you. David says, if allthat was weighed on a balance. In
verse nine, he says, theyare nothing together, They are only a
breath. Do not put your trustin it, he says, Do not

(10:35):
set your heart on them. Hesays, with that rock of God,
the salvation of God is your peace. Hallelujah. I want you to begin

(11:16):
to repent right now. We're gonnaspend the last three minutes pouring out your
heart to God. I want youto repent for saying that He is your
refuge but not believing it. Forcrying out to God but then going back
into worry the next second. Iwant you to repent for saying that you

(11:39):
trust God but not even coming closeto the door and walking in that safe
place. I want you to repentfor saying, God, would you allow
me to walk with you, wouldyou lead me, but not even walking
hand in hand or even grabbing,even being interested in the hand. But
because you're so focused on your ownroute repents. Cry out to him,

(12:11):
cry out to him, begin tosay what's on your heart. Verse eight

(13:03):
says trust in him, you people, pour out your hearts. Damn for
God is our refuge. It's acorrection. It's saying listen, I too
was scared, David. Can youimagine armies looking for you to kill you?

(13:26):
Armies Yet, David said God,I am in this cave and God
has hidden me. God will hideyou. God will secretly keep you.

(13:46):
God will secretly give you peace.God will secretly possess every emotion that is
not of him, and he willkeep you when you go into that house
of refuge, when you go intohis safe place, when you go into
that prayer. The Lord says thathe will be with you at all times,

(14:07):
and then he will never leave youor forsake you. And so we
thank the Lord God and he isabout to do miracle signs and wonders in
your heart, and that you're notin this alone, and that you don't
have to think it through, butyou just have to say God, I
trust you, and say God,I trust you. I love you guys
