the fourteen and I'm going to givefrom them for five classic version the Biberies.
(01:34):
But thanks be to God, whoin Christ always leads us in triumph
as trophies of Christ's victory, andthrough us spreads and makes evident the progress
of knowledge, the fragress of theknowledge of God everywhere. But thanks be
to God, who in Christ alwaysleads us in triumph as trophees of Christ's
(01:57):
victory, and through us spreads andmakes evidence the fragrance of the knowledge of
God everywhere a man. So justa beautiful reminder as we continue with our
day, as you may be startingour day that regardless of what may come
away, God's desire, God's plansfor us is that he leads us into
(02:19):
triumphant victory. He leads us intovictory, you know, and with that
he uses us to spread and makeevidence the fragrance of who he is to
the people that are around us.So we are the carriers, the carriers
of God's evidence. So wherever you'regoing to be going to today, in
work, school, whatever is thatyou're going to be doing, just so
(02:42):
that you're carrying God's fragrance, youknow, so people around you're going to
be seeing God and everything you doprobably even say so WHI should be a
good thing though, but yeah,it says something to it's something to encourage
us anyway that, yeah, weare God's identitif I should say, we're
(03:02):
people that are living, we arethe working Gods on the earth. So
before I end up mixing everything upand speaking too much, let's just get
into today's topic. And so we'regoing to be talking about a topic that
it's a little bit long, soI tried to cut it, but then
even after cutting cutting it, itwas still long. So but anyway,
(03:23):
today's topic is when you don't knowwhat to do when you don't know what
to do. So it's basically whatshould you do or what can you do?
What are supposed to do when youdon't know what to do? So
you don't know what to do.And I was just thinking about how sometimes
you know, people will tell youor you're hearing sitting accident comments, and
(03:45):
I think one of the most commonone is you should have known better.
You know, you should have knownbetter, you should have done better,
you should have you know, justthought better, or something like that.
But then when I was thinking aboutit was this, I was just like
coming to realize. I mean, let me just say, the thought came
to me that probably at that point, even if people say that you should
(04:08):
have known better, whatever that itis that you end up doing, it's
probably the better that you need todo, you know. So it's just
really really important to remember that weshould not always define ourselves, but maybe
the mistakes that we make, youknow, because the mistakes that you make
(04:29):
at that point, it might bewrong, but probably that's the only right
thing that you taught to do inthe moment. And if that makes sense,
like the wrong that you did mightonly might be the only right thing
you need to do in the moment. You know, so you should have
known better. Well, probably thatbetter the bad situation or the bad answer,
(04:50):
the bad whatever it may be,it's probably the only better that you
need to do, sorry, inthat moment. And so a back our
topic when you do not know whatto do, I'm going to take the
first story I have about I thinkfour, two of them a little bit
a little bit expanded if I shesaid in the other ones. I think
(05:13):
we're just going to pick a fewthings from them. And so the first
is going to come from Second Kingschapter four, this one to seven.
So we're going to read the storyand am going to pick a few things
that we can learn from when itcomes to doing something when you don't know
what to do, what can wepick from there in order to do something
instead of just staying idle. SoSecond Kings chapter four, the Bible reads
(05:38):
when the wife of a man fromthe company of the Profits cried out to
Elisha, Oh not when the wifeof a man from the company of the
of the profets carried out to Elisha, your servant, my husband is dead.
And do you know that he revertedthe lord? But now his creditors.
His creditor is coming to take mytwo boys as his slaves. Elichi
(06:00):
replied to her, how can Ihelp you? Tell me what do you
have in your house? Your servanthas nothing at all, she said,
except a small jar of olive oil. Elicha said, go around and ask
all your neighbors for empty jars.Don't ask for just a feel. Then
go inside and shut the door behindyou. And your sons pour out into
(06:24):
all the jars, and as eachis filled, put it in one side.
She left him and shut the doorbehind her, and her and her
sons they brought the jars to herand kept pouring. When all the jars
were full, she said to herson, bring me another one, but
he replied, there is not ajar left. Then the oil stopped flowing.
(06:45):
She went and told the man ofGod, and he said, go
and sell and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what
is left. Amen. So thisis a story that I thought we could
start with regarding the topic that we'rediscussing today, and so it's quite I
(07:09):
was trying to think about it likein this day and time, imagine,
depending on where you live maybe andyou're trying to go to your neighbors a
number, not number is given, but just go to as many as you
can and go on and get jars, collect jars. And if you live
in places where your neighbor lives faraway from you, you'd get exhausted and
(07:30):
whatnot. But anyway, just gettinginto a few things that you can pick
up from this story. So thefirst thing is what when you don't know
what to do? Sorry? Sowhat should you do when you don't know
what to do? And I thinkthe first thing that I picked up from
this story is to ask for help? So asking for help and this story,
(07:53):
come to understand that the woman here, she cried out to Elijah,
you know, so asking for help? Can it can be in any way?
Do you have to go and crycry out? Is it to God?
Is it to somebody? Is itto your parents? And just humble
yourself before them and just ask forhelp? Because sometimes I think it's human.
It's just it's it's it's in allof us human beings. We think
(08:16):
that we might have everything figured out, or we can take things matches in
our own hands. But then ifif you know that something has reached a
point where you cannot really handle itanymore. It's okay to ask for help.
It's okay to cry for help. It's okay to be humble enough and
just get down on your knees. And you know what, just ask for
help. Because when she did ask, she got the help. And the
(08:37):
second thing is to acknowledge and acceptwhat you have and work with it.
You know, sometimes what might seemhas nothing to us, when put in
the hands of God, you knowfor sure is always something. And if
you hear what the woman says, here, your servant has nothing there at
all. She said, accept thesmall jar of live oil. To her,
(09:01):
it was a small jar of oliveoil. But when it was in
the hands of God, it turnedinto a lot of oil. In many
jars that was sold and they wereable to pay off debts. And after
paying this they even have they hadsome left. So it's important that we
acknowledge what the things that we have, whether it seems lead to whether it
(09:22):
seems insignificant, and accepted, youknow, acknowledge that you have it and
accept it and then committed surrender itto God. If I should say and
just see what God can do,not can do, will do with that,
I think a number of terms we'veseen and similar stories where God makes
(09:46):
a miracle out of nothing, youknow, and it's just an encouragement.
It's really really important that we donot despise the things that seem to be
should I say, little in ourlives or may seem insignificant. Can Could
it be that you only have adiploma, you only have a certificate.
Could it be that you don't reallyhave work experience, Maybe you have the
(10:07):
papers already. It could it couldbe anything, you know, whatever that
you have. You can start fromthere. It might not be the thing
that takes you, that puts youwhere you want to be, but it's
the thing that may lead you tothe steps of putting the places you want
to be, into the offices youwant to be, or into the maybe
the career that you want to be. And the other one is to be
(10:31):
humble enough to follow instructions and todo what might might not seem normal.
You know, so been willing tofollow instructions. I think when when the
woman serving Elisha here, the profectwas telling the woman to go to her
neighbors and collect the jars. Ithink when I was you're trying to say
(10:52):
about this in the beginning even gotin a big jumpo. You know how
I think you'd have seen a littlebit crazy. If somebody said, okay,
just go to your neighbors and askfor jars, you'd be like,
ah, if your neighbors don't getto ask you, what do you want
the jars for? You can yoube start explaining? Or how do we
start explaining? Some maybe we've beenridiculous. Some will start laughing at you.
(11:13):
But then she still went ahead.Indeed, so it's really really important
that even as you were seeking forseeking help, acknowledging and accepting everything that
we have while we are trying topractice humility, that we're able to follow
instructions in that because most of thetimes it's when you're told to do something
and you feel like this feels likeit's demeaning me, or it's not on
(11:37):
my level, you know, it'smaking me feel some type of way,
or maybe they say okay instead ofat this point you need to make some
side money. How bad you'd betaking the car the car at the house,
and maybe it should be take youshould be doing I don't say,
diddy, it's a let me putit a taxi rank, you know,
(11:58):
start doing some oberst think something withthe kind you're like, Nah, my
friends are going to be embarrassed withme when my friends will laugh, I
mean when they see me like I'mnow doing taxi driver kind of thing,
you know. But then that mightjust be something that you know, you're
earning some side money, or justyou've been exposed to the driving the people
you might not know who you wouldcarry, you know. So it's really
(12:18):
really from our understry from the descriptit's really important to follow instructions even when
you're seeking for answers. It's importantthat you follow instructions and be ready to
do things that might not seem normalto the outside world. And the last
thing that I picked from he isalways be ready to put in the work,
you know. After following instructions, she went and she picked as sorry,
(12:41):
she collected the jars, and theprophect told her that you understands,
go back to your house, lockyourself in and continue pouring. You know,
it would seem a little bit weird. You're like, my God,
give you give me this instruction, and yet you're not going to be there
to do the work. You know. How about you coming to why just
sending my sons. This seems alittle bit fishy, you know, something
(13:03):
like that. But then she stillwent ahead. She followed the instructions,
went and collected the jars, wentback to her house, took her sons,
knocked the door, and they beganto do the work. And it
was done, you know. SheThey poured the oil in everything until they
were not more just left, notthat the oil had finished, but they
were not just left, and theycouldn't pour anymore, you know. So
(13:24):
it's really really important that we're readyto put in the work when we need
when we don't know what's to do, when we don't know what's to do,
we should be ready to put inthe work. So maybe if I
can just never mention that the fourthings that are picked out from here simultaneously,
just in case I've been speaking alittle bit in the mumbo jumble order.
(13:46):
So the first thing is to alwaysask for help. The second thing
is to acknowledge and accept what youhave and work with it. The third
thing is to be humble enough tofollow instructions, and the fourth thing is
to be ready to put in thework. I hope that encourages somebody,
And so moving on, to thesecond story. And so the second story
(14:09):
is coming from Luke chapter nineteen. This is also another very very famous story.
I think we learned about it alot in Saner Square especially, so
look chapter fourteen vers. Nineteen.Sorry, look chapter nineteen vers. One
to four. I'm sorry. SoLuke nineteen, verse one to four.
And the Bible reads Jesus. Okay, Yes, Jesus entered Jericho and was
(14:37):
passing through. A man was thereby the name of the kas. He
was a chief tax collector and waswealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus
was, but because he was becausehe was short, he could not see
over the crowd. So he ranahead and climbed a sycamore victory to see
(14:58):
him. Since Jesus is coming thatway. Amen, So as we get
we want to get into discussing somethings that you can pick from the chast.
I think we're gonna take the firstmusical break, and I'd just like
you to ponder on this story andjust think what is something that I could
pick from there? Maybe before Iget to even talk about I only have
two things for this one. Somaybe what do you think for yourself?
(15:22):
What do you think you can pickfrom this story. And so the first
one that we're going to be takingis from Tasha Cobs Leonard, and it's
one pure and holy passion. Beblessed as you listen. I have decided
(16:03):
to follow Cheeseer. I have decidedto follow Cheesesa. Let me say that
(16:26):
break. I have decided to follogesus. Yeah, I have decided to follow
(16:47):
Cheess. Give me one pure genholy passion. Give me one magnet sent
of session. Give me one gloriousambit for my life to no one follow
(17:19):
herd to you heart you give meone pure and holy passion. Give me
(17:44):
one magnecent obsession. Give me oneglorious ambit for my life. Lord,
to no one follow her after youhard enough to you, oh follow you?
(18:12):
Oh no follow hard after you?No one followed hard. Quote your
disciple in your truths, your discipleworld is a pedaling compared to knowing you
(18:33):
mallow lead me on in the wheel, Run after you lead me on in
that wall, Run after you,to know one follow high after you fools
(19:07):
your dear selling point in your truththe squirts into telling that's knowing you loved.
Leave me yard and I will rideafter you leave Meyon and I will
(19:29):
ride after somebody asking sat lead wemake this country. We got s Leria
well sign somebody say leave me.And still continuing with the story of as
(20:34):
a care and the Bible, inverse part three sorry, Part b of
verse three says because he was shortand could not see over the crowd.
And you know, it just gotme thinking of like how many times do
we ever try to consider the thingsthat we may be lacking or short of,
(20:56):
and we just were kind of likedefine ourselves by those things. But
then we see that in this storyis the case his height did not limit
him from doing what he wanted todo, from seeing Jesus. And so
it's important that we always remind ourselvesis going to be like the first point,
(21:19):
it's always always important that we remindourselves not allow anything or anybody any
experience any situation in life, youknow, talk you out of doing something
or being someone or reaching somewhere. You know, even if there is a
thousand people sorry that are doing somethingthat you're doing as well, even if
(21:41):
it's the entire world doing the samething that you're doing. Just like you
know, the your fingerprint is onlyunique to you. You know, there's
always something different that you can bringto the table. There's always something that
might just come and see something different. It could be that you are just
an extra strang strawberry, an extracherry to the cake. It could be
(22:03):
that maybe you added just a littlebit, an extra pinch of salt to
the food. It could be anything, you know, So never check yourself
out of doing something or being something, or reaching certain goals because you feel
like everybody else is doing the samething. Because when you do it,
nobody else can do it like youdo it. It has your name on
it. When you do it,it has your name on it on it,
(22:25):
not anybody else's name. So goahead and just do it, which
leads us to the second point,be innovative, you know. And I'm
going to read a quote from NormanCousins. Yes, and it says death
is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss in life is what
(22:45):
dies inside us while we leave, you know. So death is not the
greatest loss in life. The greatestloss is what dies inside of us while
we leave. And most of thetimes you have situations that seeming they seem
to be dead or something that isnot is not working, you know.
(23:07):
But then if you're willing to putto put a lot of effort. You
know, if you're willing to putsome effort. It's not always easy,
definitely, it's never easy. Butif you're able to put, if you're
willing to put put some more effort, if you're willing to change the situation,
you know, which again is totell it dependent on you, you
definitely can do it. So fromthe care story, mainly we pick out
(23:30):
two things. The first one isdo not let anything. Do not let
anybody no situations, circumstance. You'renot defined for you what you're supposed to
be or you're supposed to do.Don't let anything talk you out of doing
something, even if there are abillion people still doing it. You know,
when you do it, it's different, it's unique only to you.
(23:52):
It has your name tag on it. And the second thing is to be
innovative. You know, him climbingthe tree, hoad, I thought of
that. If he's somebody who hasI would want to call him short,
I'll call him humble height. Yeah, you know if for many people we
don't even think of wanting to climbthe tree, you know, but then
he thought of that and he gotto see Desi. And we know that
(24:14):
next after that you just asked himto come down, he goes to eat
in his house, you know, just because of the one step that he
took to just you know, thinkof something different, something that not everybody
else is doing. Instead of goingto push into their crowds or screaming or
was asking somebody else to carry him, he just thought of something different.
So be innovative, be creative,do something different. You just just might
(24:37):
never know what that thing might dofor you or even for people that are
around you. And so I'm goingto get into the third story, and
I am going to read from Amplifiedclasses for this one as well. This
is a story from Look chapter twoburse thirty six to thirty eight. I'm
(25:00):
taking it from Amplified Classic and theBiberies from Luke chapter two, thirty six
to thirty eight. The Biberides, and there was also a prophetess Anna,
the daughter of Fanwell of the tribeof Asher. She was very odd,
having lived with her husband seven yearsfrom her maidenhood and as a widow even
(25:22):
for eighty four years. She didnot go out from the temple enclosure,
but was worshiping night and day withfasting and prayer, and she too came
up with that. She came upat that same hour, and she returned
thanks to God and talked to Jesusto all who were looking for the redemption
(25:45):
deliverance of Jerusalem. Although I thinkmy main focus for this one is verse
thirty six and verse thirty seven andsaw what but to the question when you
don't know what to do? Sorry, the topic when you don't know what
to do? According to the storyof the Perfectness Anna, one thing that
I picked up from here is thatwhen you don't know what to do,
(26:06):
what you need to do is servelike your life depends on it. Now,
I'm not talking about serving the essaysthat, oh no, please now
go to church, find someone servingministry and serve, if I know,
serving all ministries or in all departments, or all your needs. That's not
what I'm trying to talk about here. You know, while you can you
can serve in church, you canserve at work and serve at school,
(26:29):
in whatever place, your workplace, anything, in whatever capacity, but just
serve like your life depends on it. You know. I'm going to reread
another code from Alistair Beg which saysthat it's impossible to serve God without serving
one another. You know. Herewe have a story of this woman.
We don't at a very young shewas only married for seven years, and
(26:51):
she did not have a husband. We do not know if she even had
children. And then but then shecontinued to serve God, you know,
night and day we're hearing that shewas in the temple and she was one
of them, I think, thevery few if you read maybe after or
before, yes, this is actuallybefore. This is the time when Mary
(27:15):
and Joseph, the birth of thisChrist is coming to being anyway, and
she's one of the first people thatspoke about it, you know, And
so it is just really really reallyimportant. Then wherever we find ourselves,
no matter what we think is notgoing well in our lives, no matter
how little or how small things maywe little things we may have sorry in
(27:37):
our lives, no matter how muchloss may be. If I should say,
as well, we may have experiencedwe should learn to serve like our
life depends on it. And sowhat are some of the important the important
things of serving. You know, sometimes it's not always like I have to
serve good, I have to serveGod. And yet your neighbor doesn't have
(27:57):
cold water it's all or maybe it'stoo cold and they haven't had a couple
of hot tea in the morning. It could be something just as little or
maybe insignificant, as it could bejust getting some foods from your guardian of
vegetables and sending them to your neighbors. I think I remember, back back
then, my dad had the systemof when you grow vegetables, he would
(28:21):
pluck out a few, then he'lltell you, okay, you take to
this person, take to this person. And of course then you just think
like he's just giving. But I'vehonest come to understand that really, really,
there's such a big blessing, abetter, better blessing in giving than
in receiving. And those little guests, like they made him feel really good.
And the joy that you just hadwhen he would just grow things and
(28:42):
is able to spare a few andgive to other people. I think that's
just just a good thing. Andso what are the other things that serving
does for us? Serving helps youdiscover yourself because you might not know what
it's doing for you. Seven alsohelps you, It helps you sorry,
It helps others feel good because you'replanting the sea. Maybe the person could
(29:02):
be sad, having a bad day, you know, they're about to give
up on life, but the momentto sho up and do something for them,
they're like, oh, somebody reallycares for me. Or actually,
you may just even restore their relationshipwith God because they feel like, oh,
well, God has really not beenanswering their prayers, or they feel
like God has forgotten about them. But the moment you do something for them,
it kind of encourages them. Soit's important that we learn to serve
(29:25):
like our life, our lives dependon it. The next thing that serving
helps you keep things in perspective, and also that serving gives purpose, It
gives you joy this stress, andalso helps you build connections. You know,
it's not all the time that youneed a friend the friend of a
friend of a friend to connect youto somebody. But if you're able to
and you're willing to serve people, even if you are high there, but
(29:51):
you're willing to come under and servepeople, you just might never know the
connections that you never thought you couldever even have may be built for you
just because because of that. Soit's really really really important that we learn
to serve in moments when you don'treally know what to do. If you
don't know what, just do somethingfor somebody, even if they don't ask
for you to do it. Justdo it, and they quickly want to
(30:14):
Also read from luks Chap looks sorry, look chapter six, verse thirty eight,
and I'll think I'll take this onefrom NIV if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, look six, verse thirtyeight, and the Bible reads give and
give, it would be given toyou a good measure, press down,
(30:34):
checking together, and running over andrunning over will be poured into your lap.
For the measure you use, itcould be measured to you. So
that is just something that I thinkwe could also take long today. Maybe
you don't necessarily have to pick theexamples from the story of the widow with
the olive oil. Maybe it's acase it could just be, you know,
(30:56):
the story of perfect Anna. Maybeat this point need to do is
be serving, is be planting inpeople's lives, and then God will eventually
do something for you as well. And so now we're going to move on
to the next door, which isgoing to be the one we're going to
round up with. And this iscoming from Matthew fourteen, Vesse thirteen,
(31:18):
Matthew Sorry fourteen, verse thirteen theBibery when Jesus heard what happened, so
before this verse Chapter fourteen, fromverse one to twelve is when John the
Baptist gets beheaded. So on averse thirteen is when Jesus heard what had
happened. He withdrew by both privatelyto a solitary place. Hearing of this,
(31:41):
the crowds followed him on front fromthe towns. So just after Joing,
the Baptist is beheaded, and soJesus, of course it doesn't feel
so good about it, you know, and what as he decides to just
you know, withdraw and go elsewherewith the disciples follow him too, and
the crowd, some of them byfoot, moving on the other side this
also they followed him. So Ithink that it's also important that when you
(32:05):
don't know what to do, youshould just take some time away and withdraw,
you know, go and reset, reboot, so you can start properly
again. And sometimes you might notknow what you withdraw, but taking some
time away or just withdrawing from certainthings, the things that are not working
out well for you might do foryou because we get to hear that after
(32:27):
Jesus has withdrawn and gone away, then the piece this is where now we
get to see the miracle of himfitting the five thousand. It was in
this story. So imagine if hehad stayed there maybe and was morning join
the Baptist and anyway, I don'tknow. I'm just saying like God knows
it or God knows better, butif he has decided to just stay there
or maybe to you know, askthe Pitchers, if somebody just by the
(32:51):
way, if if not wash theChosen, Please you need to watch The
Chosen all the episodes, especially thebeginning, so like now going, But
what I want to say, maybethe pictures that have been there, the
Jones start fighting, you know, the Andrews and everybody, everybody, everybody
else that was there. But thenyou just decided to withdraw. This discimples
(33:12):
his disciples went with them. Soit's important that you take some time away
because you might just not you mightnot know the miracle that might lie in
you just taking some time to rebot, to reset, and then look forward
to starting. So yeah, thisis just basically what I had to share
today. I hope it it's itmakes it makes sense. You know,
(33:35):
sometimes you get to right everything andthen when when it starts speaking, it
doesn't go according towards you have written. But I really just hope that you've
picked one or two things that canjust encourage you as you start your day
and your week. So when youdo not know what to do, I'll
