Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah, oh no that's not that. This is not my
uh the children's book.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Here you go with your goddamn phone ringing again.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
It's Louis. Move.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Put them on the air, just put them on the
air live and that'll that'll teach them.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Okay, bro, before you say anything wild. You're live on
the air right now with me.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, that'll teach you not to call Louis between nine
and ten.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Asshole. Let me call you back when I get nine
five on a Friday morning.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Happy birthday today to Annie Dolan, my neighbor. Great lady.
Rtt Palmer's on the list today, Lisa Aldsworth, Joe Waltsworth's.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Why just talk to Joe Waldsworth yesterday?
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, Lisa, she's a great lady, man, she really is.
Happy birthday, Lisa. Who else do we have here?
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Tanika Kawecki, Susan Sears, Matthew Adams. It is the twenty first, right, Yeah,
it is all right, Alyssa Philion, Brett Kingsbury is on
the birthday list today. Yeah, these are all okay today.
I think that's I think that's all of them.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Testing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right. Well I came in
a little late. I didn't get to do our our
mic test and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
No, no, you you look good, you sound good. I'm
a little blue today. Can I start with Can I
start with something?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I do live in Williamstown, so I'm wearing Williamstown colors today.
Good yeah, yeah go blue. Well yeah, absolutely. Listen.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
We're gonna start out this morning by saying, first of all,
happy Friday to you. Thanks so much for joining us,
for tuning in. I had a compliment about you this morning.
No way, that's from air from someone that I they
must not know me. They asked me not to tell
(05:38):
you who they are, Okay, and I won't. I won't
on the air, I won't off the air. But this
was someone who said, you know, the thing about Rex
is and they know you, they've known you for a
long time, that you have your your outer shell as
(06:05):
we all do, and you have your inner shell, and
they pay attention to you, and they listen to you
on on the air here and off the air on Facebook,
where you can get very controversial. That's just such a
such an understatement. It's just so you're lucky.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I don't drink a gallon of wine and get on
Facebook anymore.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
That was candy coated right there.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah, you know, at times Rex can get a little
controversial on Facebook.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Rex can candy coated emotionally react.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yes, that's something that's something I'm working on myself. But buddy,
I know you're working on that. We are all working
on that, all of us. I mean, my god, we
have we have the outer part, we have the inner part.
And adulting sucks so hard.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Adulting blows.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
You can either just give up and say fuck it.
I'm a shitty person and you either live with me
or you don't. I choose not to do that. I
try to grow, I try to change. I try to
do better every day.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Here's the thing I do I have I have heard before,
as I know you have. Rex's an asshole.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
I am, What do you mean? That's like? That's okay,
I am.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Here's the thing. We're all assholes.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah, we really are. It's not you except for Athena.
Look in my eyes, daddy, but man, it's.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Like we all have stuff in our in our our
heads that's not entirely constructive and healthy.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
We say things all the time that we don't mean
to say.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
So that's one thing that I'm working on, uh myself,
because I I do, I blow up and yeah I'll
say shit, and it got me in trouble even with
like law enforcement, you know. And when I when I
got pulled over and I said the most vile and
horrible things to Officer gay Lord and guess what, I
(08:14):
met him yesterday. I met him again yesterday. Oh no, no, no.
You know who he was dealing with was he was
dealing with Big Ed Collins. And so then Ed's like,
I am telling you right now, and he gets right
down there and I was like, hey, I should probably
get out of the truck. I was like, hey, Ed,
that's Officer gay Lord. He's used to dealing with assholes
(08:35):
and he and Ed looks at me and he's like,
what do you mean. I was like, that's the guy
that arrested me. So he's really used. Ed starts laughing.
He goes, so, you know, knows me. And that's so
that was the first time meant that since then that
me and Officer gay Lord actually got to have an
interaction and it was a super positive interaction. You know,
(08:57):
he's hanging out down on Brooklyn Street because he's the
drug officer. Yes, so he's been down there and he's
been making friends with the fetanyl dealers. Yeah, yeah, they
they've been talking. I think they're all friends.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Now, wait a second, you're saying there's fetanyl dealers around here.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yes, I've actually been working on the fetanyl pass when
it comes to jiu jitsu and then you attackle. I
did it to a guy wednesday. I was joking around.
I was like, I've been developing this fetanyl pass and
he's like, come on, what are you talking about? And
he walks up and I did the zombie slouch, get
right down, and he was like looking at me, and
(09:33):
then my ankle picked his acid and threw him on
the ground. All right, so carry on? What were you saying?
So emotionally reacting to two things? So now what I'm doing,
And this goes back to I watched the I watched
the video once that they were talking to prisoners and
and they were in there for life for like hainous crimes, murders,
and they asked him, They're like, by the time that
(09:55):
this guy enraged you to your reaction, how much time
was there in between? And there little to thirty seconds? Yeah,
and that that little that thirty seconds changed their entire life.
So now I've had to step back and before I
respond to anything, I have to ensure that emotions aren't involved.
(10:19):
And I don't care if I have to set my
phone down for an hour or if I have to
set my phone down for a day before I respond
to somebody. So that's that's my own I've had to
practice this, that is for myself because I can be
super explosive, super quick.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
That is so, so so difficult to do. There are
so many people that are listening right now saying, oh, man,
is he talking about me? Because everyone struggles with that, dude.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Especially people that dealt with like a childhood trauma coming
up through. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
A couple of comments here, one from a guy named
Ed Collins, and it says, if Rex is an asshole,
then what do they say about me?
Speaker 1 (11:10):
He's a bigger asshole. John Kidder just bigger. John Kidder
says Rex is an ass but a great guy that'll
do anything for anyone if you're not a shit back right. Yeah.
I think that's fair. That guy knows you right there.
I think that's fair. I know you very harsh, but
(11:30):
I do. Like I was just talking to a friend
of mine and she's going through a tough time right now,
and her and her significant other, they were in a
long term relationship and they broke up, and you know,
we were talking and I was pretty harsh with her. Yeah,
(11:50):
and you know, because she has so they were in
a relationship and they both have friends, so those that
friendship you know, when a breakup happens, Oh yeah, friendship splinters,
so then people pick sides. And then so she doesn't
really have anybody that's unbiased that she could talk to,
and so I filled that void just talking. But during
(12:11):
that course, like I'm gonna tell you the truth. I'm
sorry if it hurts your feelings, I'm sorry, but I'm
gonna tell you what I really think. I think because
I I'm that guy, like, rip the fucking band aid off.
I don't want to. I have a lot of hair
on my legs. I don't want to take fucking weeks
to pull that band aid off. Yeah I've seen I've
seen that, you know what I mean. So, and I
(12:34):
don't want to live in chaos anymore. That's a big
thing that's me and Ed talk about this a lot,
just living in the world of chaos. I don't want
that in my life, you know, I don't want that.
And so I believe I'm in control of my own chaos.
I create most of my own chaos. So that's something
within relationships, within anything. You know. The funny thing we
(12:56):
talk about a lot is you could be the best
carpenter in the world and have the shittiest attitude. And
then you could walk in. You could see this guy
carpenter and he's like, well, hello, Joanne and Bob, you
guys are great. Sit down and talk to you for
the next hour. Charge you for that hour. They're talking
(13:17):
to fuck up every single thing along that job. But
because you're a good dude, you know, I knew, I
mean because you've hired me before.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, there's my bell. We just got a beautiful, beautiful
comment here. This is so incredibly beautifully crafted. It says
I want to pound Rex like a tent peg with
(13:50):
a hammer full of love. Oh wait, I mean that
is that flattered.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I'm just not into pegging. That is just so.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Beautiful, I mean, isn't it though?
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Listen to that. I watch a pound wreck stop it,
stop it like a tent peg. Life is hard, relationships.
What's that? I said? Life is hard? Relationships are even harder.
(14:29):
This is true too.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I know we're going down a couple of rabbit holes here,
but absolutely, yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Absolutely, So that's the stuff that we're that. You know,
this is stuff. This is the philosophical stuff that like
me and Big at us, Big fucking stupid assholes that
we are. Yes, this is the type of stuff that
we talk about at five point thirty in the morning
because we've both been up since four. Really, yeah, absolutely
is like the chaos in our lives, the cast that
we create and we take. We take responsibility for our
(14:59):
own thought in every interaction. Sure, sure, sure, so the
better you get along with you, like I taking take.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
An accountability and responsibility for your own reactions, your own
responses to two things. And I think there's a difference
between reacting and responding. Sometimes sometimes you can react with silence. Yeah,
just ignoring a complete asshole by not by not responding
(15:38):
at all if.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
They're by injury. When I was on my arm, I
was responding every minute to random strangers. I'm like, what
the hell am I doing? I don't even know you. Yeah, exactly,
Like I've had people on my Facebook. I used to
accept everybody on my Facebook. I have five thousand friends
on that whatever fantasy land Facebook that we call it whatever.
(16:03):
And I remember I was talking to somebody on there,
and every time he came on it, it was just
to argue, just argue, and then finally, you know, he
sent me a private message and he's like, well, you
do this, this guy, you bully, And I was like, hey, cocksucker,
First of all, that's not the whole story. And I
(16:24):
was like, and that really pisses me off that you'd
put that side of it out like that, Yeah, without
having the whole story to it. And as a matter
of fact, fuck you. We're not friends. Yeah, we're not wasted.
I was like, why are we exactly why am I
wasting my time? I don't We're not friends. You're not
my Like, it's more than time that you're wasting. You're
(16:44):
wasting energy, You're wasting Yeah. But what's the most valuable
thing we have in life? Fucked capaciti? Yeah, and I'm
wasting ship it is.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
It is the number one You're right, it is the
number one most valuable thing that we have.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
You can't buy time and how you use it? Yeah,
how you can spend time? You can't buy it? Oh wow,
is there a shirt that says that I No, I
don't know. I just I was on the fly. Baby.
So that's the other thing. Now, let's now let's talk
about like relationships. Oh, so relationships are super super hard,
(17:20):
and this is something like this is stuff that I
learned in thirty years of marriage. I'm not I'm not
a marriage counselor. I am working every single day.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Sometimes we have to work every hour. It's a choice
of every day.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
It's a choice to be with somebody. It's a it's
a I'm hard as fuck to love, dude, I can
only fathom I I am. I'm hard and uh so,
like me and my wife, we go through shit all
the time. I mean, there's no way you can't thirty
(17:58):
years with somebody you sure, sure you have. There's so
many ups and downs. Same with same with Sherilyn and
I Right, how do you keep that spark going? How
do you how do you stay in love with somebody
after thirty years? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:11):
So that's what brings me to this. Oh boy, no,
what I love about you?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yeah. So it's a workbook for couples and you can
order mom like Amazon. Shit like that. It's a cheap word.
It's a cheap, cheap fucking therapy. Keep it, keep it
in the front seat of the truck. It No, what
it does is it's a workbook that you.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
I'm saying, keep it close by all the time, like
so you can add stuff.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah, so and that's what it is. It's a journal
in each one like it says my favorite thing about
you is it forces you right to remember the things
that made you love that person.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
I got to get one of those. I have to
get one of those.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
And once it's completely full, I'll give it to my wife.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Yeah, I think that's I have to Where are those?
Speaker 1 (19:04):
I got that from Amazon? All right, I gotta get
one of those. Was like twelve bucks.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Man, Really, you know what I want to do. I
want to get I want to get I want to
get a couple, get one of those, one of those.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
They have a whole bunch of different work books. There's
a whole series of them, and ship for for couples kids.
Let's face it, man, they want I mean therapy is
what they want you to go twice a week and
one hundred and fifty bucks a session. Can you get
one that?
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Can you get one that says what A hate about you?
Speaker 3 (19:30):
No?
Speaker 1 (19:30):
I'm sure they have them. Okay, But negativity will become
negativity that that brings you to karma, that brings oh,
that brings me to the next subject. The universe and
what you ask for in the universe.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Uh Ed says I disagree. I think it's what we
do with our attention and and and this this word,
this next word is the word that I've been saying
over and over in my head for months.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Intention.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
I mean, Ed's right on man's spot on.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, so what he's talking about the intentions.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
It is the intention living with intentions.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Okay, And I'll put this for an example.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
For what are you intend to say here?
Speaker 1 (20:14):
On? So, I lost a job. It was a siding job.
It was a siding job. And what it boiled down
to was they were working with an online bank, and
the online bank says, well, we only have these approved
national people that can come and do the job right. Yes,
(20:34):
so they're double my price. They come up from Massachusetts.
I see him, Here comes all the vans. Yeah. I
was like, son of a bitch. And I just remember,
I remember that feeling. I was like. And then I
and then as I was leaving for work, they were
setting up. As I was coming home from work, they
were still there working, so I couldn't bust their balls.
(20:56):
They had solid work ethic, they weren't slouches. But then
I noticed the deficiencies. I was like, oh, you guys
are not painting your Edges, you're not flashing it properly.
And I remember I was with ED and I was
typing that message out to that customer, and I was like,
I was gonna tell them, y'all, you better check the
manufacturers thing. And then I looked at ED and I
(21:17):
was like, am I sending this out of spite? Yeah?
Or am I sending this out of genuine care for
that customer? Ask yourself that question. And I didn't send
that message. Yeah, those people are working, and I don't
know what their reasoning is. It's not my problem, it's
not my it's not my fight to get into, it's
it's not my chaos. But but I was sending that
(21:37):
out into the universe, and that gets to and that
gets to ED. Like probably nine years ago, I looked
at Lucas John and I said to him, I promise
you I will be your first black belt. Guess who's
black belt. I'm wearing DS. So I never thought about
all those consequences, everything that I would have to go
(21:59):
through in order for that to happen. The universe said, fuck,
yeah you want that belt, We'll give it to you. Yeah,
let's sacrifice your best friends, let's sacrifice your body. Let's
sacrifice everything, but you're getting that motherfucker. Yeah. So before
you ask for the universe, make sure you ask properly
what you how you want it? Like, I just want
to live peace. So if you say that I want
(22:19):
to live in peace, what does that mean? Like you
go to a mental institution, you get arrested and go
to jail. There's so many things when you ask those questions,
and the universe will give it to you. And the
universe has to equal itself out every single time. I
got to do something good, then something's bad's happening. If
something's bad's happening, something good. So that's when you're going
through bad things. Know your life, you're sacrificing. So but
(22:42):
somebody else in the universe can have good.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yeah, A spot on, brother, Damn if you're you're you're
raising the hair on the arms this morning, No, I
mean you got it?
Speaker 1 (22:54):
You got it? Uh, Listen.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
I want to inject some real, real solid positivity on
the air right now, and I want to take our
I want to take you. I want to take our
listeners just like we did yesterday morning up to a
live live shot right now up at stuff a truck. Oh, night,
(23:18):
which is happening up at Price Chopper and Randy you.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Know that guy, Randy L. Pratt Man, Oh that's who
that is. How are you, buddy? We're doing well. Man.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Listen, you're I'm guessing you're inside the camper up there
at Price Chopper, right.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
I am John TJ. Behind me here.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
There they are, Good morning, Good morning guys. How the
hell are you? That looks like a camper not a truck?
What are you stuffing? That's well, they're they're in the camper.
The truck is right next to them, fifty three foot looks. Look,
Randy's going to take us there.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Thank god. Look he's gonna take us there. Oh, he's
gonna take us to the truck.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
He's taking us over to the Bellvans truck fifty three
feet long.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
You can't say you're a stuff a truck and then
being a camper with two guys, right.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
So listen, man, It's like this is the twenty fourth
year that this has been happening in our community, which
is unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
And to think that we've.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Had twenty three trucks, at least twenty three trucks that
have been full of nonperishable food right here in our community.
And now we're working on the twenty fourth year. Randy,
this is incredible, buddy. Tell us how things are going.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Look, we had a really good night day number one yesterday.
Usually it's fairly slow on day one, but as you
can see here that people really pull through yesterday. But
we are here until it gets filled. We're abounce i'd say,
a third of the way. So we're starting off good
for a friend, all right it, But come on by.
We're at market thirty sous here on the barry Montpillia
(25:04):
Road in Berlin, and all you gonna do is swing
on in and drop off your can a nonperishable food donation.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
We're all here, We're all ready to grab it.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
So you don't even have to get out of your
car if you don't want to see just pull up
and make that donation. Every can count, so no donations
too big or too small.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
We have always talked about the power of numbers. It's like,
if everybody shows up with one box, one can you know,
one bag and if you listen, it's Friday.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Man.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
If you're if you're doing a little bit of a
grocery shopping over at Price Chopper, maybe you're getting ready
to go to deer camp or whatever. Pick up one
extra item and you're right there. It's right there next
to you in the parking lot at price Chopper and
pull right up and hand it to them. You don't
have to get out of your thoms.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
This is good press for every organization out there. Yeah,
you got your motorcycle clubs. Where's Andy Avery? Andy Avery
from the Defiant Crew. You've got Billy Blanden from the
Iron Order. You got the Vietnam Vet setter up here.
You have so many clubs. You've got Wilkins, you got
all these guys, the Elks Club, the Moose Club, everybody.
Everybody should be donating to this. Come on, it's food
(26:14):
for people, and it stays right here right and it's Vermont.
Come on, you'll it all. It all stays right here.
Goes over to Keith av Absolutely what this is Vermon's
helping vermontors. It's not a national fundraiser. This is Vermoner's
helping Vermoners. I am absolutely one calling every one of
them clubs out. I want to see all of you.
Travis byet Travis, where are you?
Speaker 2 (26:36):
He knowing Travis, He's probably already better.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Have a big old box and all of his brothers
up there bringing a bunch of food. I would like
to see Travis and those guys Philip an F one fifty.
Matter of fact, I think Bill has a F two
fifty phill it with food and deliver it.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Yeah, John Stacy, John Stacy, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
Right, the aren order guys, and they're coming down at tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
There you go, c is coming down tomorrow. All that stuff.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah, it's that Christmas music that's going on in the background.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
But yes, yes it is.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
God. I wish my children's Christmas book had come in
and we could have read that today.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Are you John? Are you getting paid by the hour
to have to listen to Christmas music around the clock.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
I mean, I am doing this for money, but I'll
tell you what, it's better than listening to TJ.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Yeah. Listen, fella.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
I saw you guys yesterday, and I'm saying that the
three of us, Me and you and TJ may have
possibly gained as much as five pounds over the last
couple of years.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Absolutely, you guys gained it. I lost it.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
I actually, I actually I've actually lost sixty two pounds
since last September.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
Are you shitting me, dude.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah, good for you, man, Wow, thank you John. We
were just saying, you know, the power of one here.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Man.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
It's like, it's incredible that you guys can fill a
fifty three foot tractor trailer in the matter of just
a couple of days. And what that does is fill
the food pantry over on Keith Ab at the Salvation
Army for a full year.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Holy Yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Usually that's that's the the mission is to get this
truck full. And generally when we get one truck full,
it fills for the whole year. I mean, obviously, if
the band's more, it doesn't last a year.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
But they they were.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
They had quite a bit of food up until probably
like August, and then the whole shutdown happened and they
got really bad.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
And I was down there.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
Wednesday afternoon looking at the pantry to see what space
we had, and it were I ain't kidding. There was
probably less than seventy five items on every shelf and
there's like thirty shelves down there.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Wow. Last there was.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
Kimmy beans and it's a very very little amount of things,
And I was like, wow, this is insane.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
So it's very humble to see that.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
If you can, please save a box of craft macaroni
and cheese for Rex.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
But last night when I.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Was up there in there somewhere.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Last night, when I was up there, we had a
comment from someone saying, you know what about other things
like like coats and gloves and mittens and stuff for
the for the socks and stuff for the warm weather.
But here's the thing, man, It's like, this is specifically
non perishable food.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
Yeah, so we do have like right behind night here
there's some turkeys. There's six turkeys, and uh, it's been
cold enough we can keep right here. But the lieutenants
from the Salvationary come and pick them up.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
People brought potatoes on in. And what they do is
that they do a turkey.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
Dinner next week for for anybody who wants it for free.
I'm not sure the details of it, but I know
they'll be frost these turkeys and they'll feed anybody who
wants to Thanksgiving meal, and then they do meals throughout
the year. So anything that's still left frozen turkeys, hams,
et cetera, they'll they'll use them throughout the year or donate.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Them to people who need them.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
Because they do have freezers and coolers there, but it's
more non perishable items.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Listen, I it looks like and I could be wrong here,
but it looks like none of those turkeys have been pardoned.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
No, no, they're they're not pardoned.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
They are wrapped and frozen and juicy.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Yeah, John, you know, you and I know what an
unpardoned turkey looks like.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
John, John, you know what an unpardoned turkey looks like.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
This. It looks like that.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
It looks like this guy sitting next to me on
the couch right here. Listen, you and I were chatting, uh,
yesterday or the day before, I can remember, and one
of the things that we were saying is that older
people here in our community in central Framat are why
are you pointing at me?
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Are good?
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Well you're over fifty, uh, are having a harder and
harder and harder time trying to make ends meat. They're
having it to decide between whether they're going to take
care of their pet, whether they're going to get their
medicine prescription filled, or whether they're going to have their
heat on, or whether they're gonna have food on their table.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Clarity of not knowing where your next meal comes from.
Speaker 5 (31:31):
This alleviates that to to to use your mind toward
the heating bill or the electric bill.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Or I've ad out of them feashells before stuff. I know.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
So this is the whole purpose of that mission, that
missionary there is to help you alleviate that that that
stress of I'm able to heat my house or medicine
or something like that.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
So sure tell us about lepratte here. We have a
question about personal hygiene items, whether or not you guys
we're gonna be collected. Are you going to be collecting
any personal hygiene items? And who needs personal hygiene more?
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (32:07):
You Randy or t J. I'm guessing it's TJ.
Speaker 5 (32:12):
I'm gonna say it's TJ, then me because Randy he
goes and showers because he goes to jank stuff.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
So PG and I have been here. We're right, we're
lots of deodorant.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Yeah, but he's airborne infantry bro. He knows how to
do them horror baths. I've been there.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Seriously, are you guys collecting any personal hygiene items? That's
a question we're getting asked right now.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
I don't see why we couldn't. I mean, it's like
I said, the main.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
Focus is not fairs for food or food i've seen here,
but if okay, actually though I saw there's quite a
few like feminine products like tampons and then etcetera.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Listen through some love, Randy la Pratt right next to you, man,
this guy is this is year number thirteen thirteen.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
He's thirteen. He was eleven years old when this thing started.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Jen, it was a little tiny boy Jesus bay Ago.
And you've you've never missed a year in thirteen years
of being a part of this, Randy.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
No, No, this is a big thing I do every year.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
It means a lot, and it's truly heartwarming at the
end when all of a sudden done to see see
this truck full and no, it stays right here in
our community. Is That's why it's important to me, because
it all stays right here in our community. And that's
really big for me.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I love that and I've always loved that part about
it as well a lot. Yesterday you were seventeen. How
old are you now?
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Thirty three?
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Oh yeah, you can fight off the spankings now that's crazy.
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Listen, man, we all we've all heard plenty in the
news about snap benefits, and we've all heard some real
genuine concern about ver Honors being able to have some
food on their table this year.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
And this is very little to do with the Snap benefit. Man,
there's a lot of stuff that's going on. That's there's
stuff going on nationally, but there's stuff going on right
here in our state and nationally. We need to start
thinking about our own neighbors. Yeah, you're right, we need
to build our communities back. That's what we need.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
TJ mentioned like one in three or one in five
families are depending on you know, food shelves like this
and alone, so that's a lot.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Yeah, there's four of.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Us here talking so one about one.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
One more person here potentially needs food and security, it
needs needs help.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
So it's so quick, it's so simple. You pull up.
If you have something that you're you know, in your
pantry at home that you're not going to use. Let's
let's say you got to kick a couple of cans
of refried beans and you're like, you're not really big
fan of refried beans, Throw them in the car, bring
them down there, pull up and they're gonna take them
right out of the car and get it blooded up
into the truck.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
It doesn't matter if you have one can or thirty bags.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Sure exactly.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Any anyone that you want to throw some love out
to that that is, has anyone showed up like the
Scouts or or anyone I know the big Man Santa
Claus is coming into town tonight, possibly.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Is coming. But for so far we've had Bear City
schools showing up. Uh.
Speaker 5 (35:37):
I asked the girls three times what this was called.
It was the from ot board, my board insurance teachers
and something from out board Teachers Insurance. There the ladies
brought one massive car load and they're coming with another
one today.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
RK Miles came with a car load. There's so many
there's so many things that come in. I have all
the pictures of it, and I can tell you if
I see the pictures.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
Yeah, that's we're you're talking.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
That's people need to be paying attention.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
People need to be paying attention to pack the pantry
on Facebook.
Speaker 5 (36:13):
Yeap or or w W dot Pack the Pantry vt
dot com. If you can't make it here, there's a
there's a QR code or a link you can click
on the face on the website. And it brings you
to a QR code or a direct link and you
can donate right there and that money you dodah.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Yeah, you could insta cart and door dash.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Of course you couldst car.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
From Newport.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
Who uh two years ago, my friendly Anne, she instcarted
a from Newport from a man. But she called somebody
down here forst the cart. They went and picked out
three hundred dollars with the groceries. They delivered it right here.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
If you if you put the address, hey, hey, hey,
my man, if you put the address up there, because
he's national, he's getting a million views a month. But
if you put the address up there, people can fucking
instacart you. That's a great idea. What I'm gonna instacart.
That's how I'm gonna do.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
A price chopper. What what's the address? Well, we'll find it.
I'll pull it up and drive.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
You're at price chopper.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
What is with me?
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Rex? Price schopper? What do you mean from me?
Speaker 3 (37:22):
You're down? You're down on my player or a Barry
with JD Come on now, oh.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
Yeah no no. But what I'm saying is I can
instacart price chopper right to you.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, yes, so that's what So you
guys are.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
At price shopper, that's what you're saying. Yeah, so they
just need the address when you do instacart.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Yeah, it's one sixty eight As Drive, Barry Vermont.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
There. There it is. We'll pin that in the comment.
So anybody that wants to instacart because they're too lazy
to get out, because that's what.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
We are, really out of state somewhere, yes, say they're.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Out of state absolutely, and they can and they still
want to help feed some hungry people said one six
eight Ames Drive, Ames Drive, remember the old Ames here
back in the day.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Hell yeah, wow, dude, that's so great man.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
You guys, this lady pulled up right now and she
she didn't have groceries, but she donates some money and
the money's put it right inside the kettle.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
There it is, and that's what we do with it.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Nice you guys, are You guys are incredible? Obviously we
got some great restaurants that are helping you out and
feeding you guys breakfast, lunch, dinner. Around the clocks. Uh
they stay there, Yeah, they stay there. Oh that's fucking
around the clock, dude, I'd be so fucked up. I'd
be drinking whiskey for days on end. Well breakfast.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
We dabble sometimes on some heavier sodas, but not the major.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Right.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
We keep it.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
We're here collecting there we do. That's dedication because you
guys are doing this right in the heart of deer season.
Who else takes off deer season to help?
Speaker 3 (39:02):
He's not North Carolina weather, Rex. It's cold.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah, man, John, there are There could be a book
written on memories from stuff a truck that we have
with you.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
I mean, hey, John, are you related to the Loose? Yeah? Yeah,
Roy Loosed, Richie Loose, all them, Marie Stacy. Are you
reading Albert and them boys?
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Yeah, spell and spelled differently.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Let's ship.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Let's get something straight about John Stacy. He's related to everybody.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Yes, the Stacey's were a huge family. They had a
couple of them old boys. They were breeding all around town.
He knows it.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Guys, I don't have more than two kids.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Yeah, summer kids. Some are here, so are there?
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Yeah, buddy, you guys are doing a hell of a
job up there. Kudos to you and Randy and TJ,
and kudos mostly to our community for showing up and
making this a success for the twenty fourth year, which
is underway right now.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
Think about that.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
That's amazing, dude, Price chop birds where you are. Thanks John.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
Yeah, we'll see you hopefully see you guys later today
and hopefully the cars come in.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
I'll be up there all right, man. I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Man, take care.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Yeah, that's great stuff. Listen, you know, I want to
throw some some love this morning at beauf Airs.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
God, dude, he's been around for it's such a good dude.
We used to bring all to as the family, Gwen. Yeah,
the whole family. Yeah. They went through a lot, really
tough time when it got flooded. He had cancer. They
just yeah, two floods. Yeah, and that old man was
(40:56):
down there like going what, going through treatments, trying to
muck out the he'st been by himself.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Yeah, it was insane, super tough dude. I got over
and chatted with Meghan a little bit. Meghan Beaufaire, fifth
generation Beaufair Wow, fifth generation.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
They've been in business right there since nineteen fifty Rex.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Yep. They've repaired a lot of my.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Boot seventy five years and they just you know, Meghan
was saying a compilation of a couple of reasons, but
some of which it's almost becoming a lost art to have.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
A co about to say that people are buying. Like
when I bought a three dollars pair of chipawaws and
the souls and stuff started ripping, you brought them over
to bow Air. You didn't just throw them away. You'd
get another four or five years out of them. Hot
rods exactly. That's why having them repaired. But not only that,
they had the leather goods. I loved going in there
(42:02):
and all the if you ride motorcycles and you wear vests,
they that they had all the leather sewing machines. They
did all the patch work for people.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
You know, they've got plenty of leather vests over there
and chaps and everything. Right now what they everything out
of business sale.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
I'm definitely going over there to support them. One percent.
I'll buy a new vest. Well it lasts. I mean,
it's like, bro, they're liquidating hardcore, right Kenny Kenny? Where
are you at? Kenny Kenny? So I'm gonna get Kenny
down here. Yeah no, really, that's serious. He'll buy you
know what. I'm not even gonna buy a vest Kenny,
(42:44):
I'm a large. What size are you? Probably an EXCELX.
He's definitely an Xcel with chain extenders, you know, Kenny, Kenny,
Christmas is soon, Ver's can.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
The last thing that you or anyone else wants to
see is me in a leather vest.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Dude, No, look who you're talking. I was in a
lead psycho club. I've seen much worse. No I no, okay,
Now imagine you with a hairy chest and no shirt
on in a vest with j nixtenders.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
I'm five four, two hundred and eight pounds. You do
not want to see me in a leather vest. I
have no business. The word leather doesn't belong anywhere on
my body.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
What are those asslest chaps hanging in your room?
Speaker 2 (43:32):
That's between Charylyn and I and that has That's none
of your goddamn business. Stay out of it. Okay, that's
my private stuff that happens behind my bedroom door. Uh
and listen, Speaking of which, Sherilyn had one hell of
a night last night with me.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
No, why, oh my god, she is.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
I'll just say this morning, she is a smile from
ear to ear. I mean, she couldn't be any happier
than she is. Right now. You know why, because I
because I did. I slept on the couch last night.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
For ten years, I slept on the couch.
Speaker 2 (44:17):
I slept on the couch so bad. I've been coughing.
I've had a cough and when I lay down it
gets worse. And last night I just was like, nope,
going down to the couch. She is so happy she
finally got a full night sleep. She oh, she is.
I mean, she looks like a refreshed woman.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
For you know. I've been on the inside of this house.
It's an older house over here in Berry and so
my other crews were up on another job that they're
finishing up up in Northfield and then another house that
we have going on in Brookfield, but they're finishing them up.
So all my guys are busy. So mean, I've had
my daughter down there and it's been me and my
daughter and it's been so fun, just me and her. Her. Yeah. Inside,
(45:01):
we've been doing what's called the level five mudding, okay,
and we skim we're skim coating all of the horse
hair plaster. I even molded all the rounded corners and shit,
it looks beautiful. It looks really good. We're getting ready
with the guys are real. Yeah, well no, I So
I went over the plaster. I skim coat it. What
(45:22):
you do is you use like in easy C ninety
and you make it water. You make it just a
bit thicker than pain. And I have a big nappy
roller and you roll it all on. This is how
you make a texture ceiling. And you just roll it
on and then you have I have this like three
foot blade and it's super pliable and as I run
(45:44):
it across the walls, there's no streaks, and what it
does it levels it and then I go down through
and I have a power a big power stander that
hooks to a vacuum and you level out the walls.
So that's why I was there till almost six o'clock
last night because my in Florida. So I've been.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
The last time, the last time. The last time that
I called rex Uh. He was running one of those
sanders and had some drills going and everything. In the
background he's covered in sheet rock, dust and everything, and
blasting in the background was air supply.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
Yeah, and oh on it was me and ed the
two big assles in there.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
Air supply.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
It just happened. That was on my pill door list. Good.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
Hey, the Texans beat the Bills last night twenty three nineteen.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Which don't follow baseball.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
I know you don't follow baseball, and that's okay, that's
all right. But let's talk about fighting. Let's talk about
let's let's talk about mixed martial arts.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Jandy, don't say, because if you say fighting, that implies
that people are exerting aggression and violence towards each other. No, no, no, no, no,
talk about fighting. I uh, in December. I'm not saying where,
not even gonna give the date. But I'm gonna go
to a smoke or fight down there. That'll be fun. Okay,
(47:22):
We're gonna go do some kickboxing, all right. So they
said they had another old man. We'd go down there
and all right, have a geriatric fight. I don't want
to get beat up by the young guys. I don't
have that in I understand.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
I mean, I will, but let's let's try not. Let's
talk about the Battle in Burry eighteen.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Absolutely, the Battle in Bury eighteen. I think we're gonna
change the name of that DBFP eighteen. Yeah, because we're
more than just Barry, We're a regional. We've really grown.
So we're huge in New England. Everybody from New York
(48:02):
to New England. I mean, we have pro fighters that
were flying in really yeah, I mean our like our
our March card and we're not sure that that's even
gonna be done here in Berry, but our March card is, uh,
we're flying in Sammy Mongoonia and he's gonna fight John
(48:22):
Pena for that DBFP World Small Gold that'll be done
in a boxing ring. We've actually thought March. Yeah, we're
we're we're up in the air on whether we make
it a black tie event for VIPs kind of thing there.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
Please can I come? Can I invite myself?
Speaker 1 (48:41):
Of course? I don't want to miss that. So yeah,
we we've we're growing. It's uh, I got you know
the winds of change things are happening.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
Well, you're growing, Yeah, you're getting I mean Donnybrook Fight
Promotions is.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
Yeah, we have we have US fighters coming.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Here now exactly exactly, So that's yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Yeah. Our pay per view sales are what we bring
to the economy when we come into an area. I mean,
we're not talking about just the fees that I pay
for the auditorium. Those are I mean, because they have
their staff, we have the permits, the money that we
put into the FEDS, the money that we have to
(49:27):
put into the state. Then there's also the local permitting,
the local contracts that we have to have with the
police fire. So you know, there's probably four thousand dollars
around four thousand dollars just for that kind of stuff.
But then we bring in you got your fighters, you
got your teams, you got their fans. They go up
(49:49):
their their families and their families, so they're and they
stay right at the comfort in up there. So the
comfort In alone is making like ten grand a night
from from those things coming. And then they all so
that the thing is is they weigh in on Friday,
and they spend the whole day down here in Barry
with their families and and checking out our little town.
And they love to go to like the restaurants up
(50:12):
there and tell people how they're the fighters and stuff,
and so they there's probably you know, each show that
we do, let's say we do let's say we do
three shows a year, we're probably bringing probably close to
one hundred thousand dollars into the each one of the shows.
Right now, we're gonna do three we're gonna do three,
(50:35):
but you've done four, yes, okay? And if we do floor,
and that's gonna be on my daughter because she's really
the one. I'm trying to get far away from it.
And it goes back to my emotional responses and I
those have ruined opportunities for my daughter and I don't
want so I'm kind of stepping back from that whole thing.
(50:57):
I'm still doing the matchmaking, but I don't want to
be so hands on because because of my own when
I start getting stressed, it makes me super easy to
snap really quick, especially if somebody is like I can't
take an energy from somebody. If somebody starts hollering at me,
I instantly like we we're we're gonna end this right now.
(51:18):
I have to and I can be aggressive when I
do that. So that's where I you know, I I
really want to see my daughter grow that business and
and go from there.
Speaker 2 (51:32):
Yeah, she does what she does best. You do what
you do best.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
I mean, have you seen like Margaret our new mc
fee that comes from believe or like, oh my god,
she has millions of followers on Instagram? Just you have
you have Kevin McDonald who every weekend is reffing at
the UFC up. There you have people like Glover tech
(51:58):
Era sitting on the front steps of the Bury auditor. Yeah,
that's insane, man. So that I mean, I think Berry
City we brought a lot, but we have a lot.
We also have other venues that are asking us. Windsor's huge.
Windsor's been begging us to go down there.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
What about Burlington.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Burlington's another one. There's another venue up there. They've asked
us about that, and it's probably time we start exploring
because I don't want to. Kidder says.
Speaker 2 (52:28):
The problem is we don't have hotels to house bigger
events in central Vermont.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
Wild Yeah, no, it's but comfort In is building is
going to be building one because like the Double Tree,
In has a twelve thousand square foot ballroom up there
where all the fighters that they have an indoor pool,
they have a gym facility, so you could have the
fights up there and it would be you know, that's
a something like that.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
I would like to do a charity fight with at Colin.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
That old ron Tollman, what's that they're putting the flags up.
Speaker 2 (53:07):
I would like to do a charity event if possible
with at Collins a charity fight. I would like to
take on that.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
No, no, right now, adds not in that right headspace.
And if he aspires with somebody, he's gonna beat the
ship right out of him, even me, even you.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
What if I but he knows, he knows I'm a lover,
not a fighter.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
But if you put gloves on and try to punch him,
he's gonna beat you up. What if I don't put
gloves on and you try to punch him, he's gonna
beat the ship out of you. What if I grease
myself up with chrisc and put on a speedo and
then he's gonna body slam you and beat the Ship'll
never catch me, though he would catch you. I doubt
he could catch a grease pig. He'd catch you.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Are you saying I'm a Are you saying I'm piggy?
Are you calling? Are you calling me a piggy?
Speaker 1 (54:00):
Piggy? Now? Did you just call me a piggy? Calm here,
a little piggy ass? No, all right, I can't get
in with that one, because that was we. I think
everybody knows what I'm referencing to, and he did not.
I don't believe that he said piggy. The reporter's name
was Peggy. I just think that he always talks with
a mouthful of marbles. So I mean, there's enough wrong
(54:21):
with the guy that but I'm not I'm not following
that one.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
Did you hear Catherine yesterday addressing this, who's Katherine the
Press Secretary?
Speaker 1 (54:30):
No? No, okay, I was not going to get home
until like six thirty wow. And then I got in
the sana and fucking wind to bed me and Athena
loved Ancient Aliens and fell asleep.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
Today's National Stuffing Day today. Yesterday we were talking about
the difference between stuffing and dressing. Stuffing, Gee was telling
me it goes in the bird. Dressing is stuffing that
you make that is never in the bird. It's just
made on the outside.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
And that's that. Did you know that?
Speaker 2 (55:03):
Probably not things you learn. I learned it yesterday. What
What's what's Rex doing for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 1 (55:15):
Really? You know what I used to do? You know
what I think is really good and I think everybody
should do it.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
I really, really, you're gonna go hunting at all?
Speaker 1 (55:22):
No, I don't want my When my kids were growing up,
the one thing that I made them do. Is we
spent two Thanksgivings feeding the homeless when they were teenagers
because I never wanted them to judge people by their
social status, and I forced them to talk to those
(55:44):
people and get to know them as a human. That's
a real good thing for any family to do, Like
just pick it, like, hey, let's just go do Thanksgiving.
Let's let's volunteer and serve people and sit down and
talk and just it put a human face on them people. Yeah,
(56:05):
That's why I'm biased about like immigrants, I'm super biased
because I lived with those people. I can I put
a face on them as a human that they're not
a statistic.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
This is uh, when you served in the military in
South America, right, Okay? Any any football watching you even
sit on the couch with the jammies and scratch.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
The next You know what I I don't I'll probably
You know what I'll do is I'll probably cook a
small hand like a like a turkey breast. Yeah maybe,
or maybe I will maybe I'll cook a full turkey.
I don't know, Uh, just because I like the leftovers.
I like the my wife makes those egg rolls. Sure
what they had? You ever seen them with the with
(56:54):
the turkey, the po data, and then you dip them
in the freaking gravy. Oh yeah, see, I could eat
them for days. The other thing is is I'll probably
sit down. I'll probably eat about five thousand milligrams of edibles.
See what kind of movies are on? I have a
recliner because I don't get a lot of like, I
don't get time to sit in my recliner with my
(57:14):
feet up, with my dog in my lap, watch a
good movie because I usually fall asleep in my chair
and then yeah, wake up to her licking my face
at three o'clock in the morning. Time to go to
bed for.
Speaker 2 (57:24):
The next lick in your face or sitting on your face.
Speaker 1 (57:27):
Yes, she does that, She actually does that.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Moving along FGB Theaters dot Com. Here's what's playing right now.
And I think we all know that Thanksgiving is a
great time to get out and catch a movie. And
one of our presenting sponsors, FGB Theaters, who's been a.
Speaker 1 (57:48):
Sort of movies on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 2 (57:49):
Yes, of course they do.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Dude, that might give me something to do. Do they
let service dogs in? Of course they do. I need
to find it this.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
Do you have a black market service dog Vest.
Speaker 1 (58:04):
They sell them on Amazon for five bucks.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
But FGB Theaters has been a presenting sponsor of the
Aired Out podcast pretty much since like the first year,
I want to say, even maybe within the first six
months when I started this thing in twenty eighteen, and
they've been with me since, so I love them. Capital
Showplace in Montpellier. Now you see me three Nuremberg is
(58:31):
playing Rental Family, Springsteen Wicked for Good. Everybody's freaking out
about Wicked that's playing tonight.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
Paramount twenty, my daughter will go see Wicked. She was
telling me that she wanted to go see that. You should.
She was over last night. What we were we watching
last night? She came over. We ordered a pizza because
I got home late, so we ordered a pizza. Me
and her. Her boyfriend is up skating.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (58:55):
I love having my kids come on like live next
to me and I know. So she just came over.
We hung out, We ate pizza, We watched The Avatar
until we started nosing on and then she had to
go home take care of her dogs. Yeah, she's a
good kid, Yes she is.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
Paramount Twin has a Predator, Badlands and The Running Man
coming soon. Avatar, Fire and ash who. Yeah, we should
go see that The housemade Eternity five nights at Freddy's
to Zutopia, The SpongeBob Bob Movie. You should go see
(59:29):
that with Big Ed saw te up a bunch of mushrooms.
I was just gonna say, saw up some mushrooms and
then go see the SpongeBob movie. But anyway, f gb
theaters dot com to see all the show times, the listings,
get your tickets into bad.
Speaker 1 (59:46):
Look who's on there? Cory. Guess who Cory is? So
introduce Cory. Cory is Dante's mom. Dante is one of
my soudents. So you'll see him tomorrow because he's so happy.
He sent me a video this morning telling me that
he was going to beat the shit out of me good.
So yeah, I was like, I'm excited. So you wait
(01:00:07):
as soon as he comes out of that dressing room
with his gee and I'm gonna grab him with so
much he'll be like, Ah, it'll be fun.
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Tell everybody about Dante and what you do on Saturday morning.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Okay, So Dante's my man. He's been coming to Granite
City MMA forever like three years now. He's just been
there forever he's autistic. Yeah, we overlooked that. So to me,
he's just uh teenage boy that has trouble putting paragraphs together. Okay,
So other than that, yeah, he's my he's my boy,
(01:00:43):
he's my buddy. We not really my boy. I was
joking about the summer kids summer here somewhere there. That's
why I don't register ancestry dot com. So anyway, Dante,
he's my good man. So we train him. What happened
was years ago, I watched the video of somebody that
didn't know how to deal with an autistic person, so
they threw him down on the bus floor and sat
(01:01:05):
on his back, and I listened to Dante's scream and
it broke my heart. I was like, oh, fuck, no,
that's never happening again. So and to this day, that's
never happening again to him. So we start. It was
a learning curve for me because I've never I've never
tried to teach somebody. I've never tried to I've never
(01:01:25):
been around special needs except my brother.
Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
So yeah, that's a whole different podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
So it was a challenge. It was a learning process,
and I've been an instructor for quite a while. You
can ask Lucas and and it's uh, it's always a
learning process. So everybody's different on how they learn, and
it's my job to make sure that they can learn
from me. Right, they paid it, They paid Lucas to
(01:02:00):
come to that gym. They pay to learn jiu jitsu.
So I have to ensure every person is learning jiu
jitsu that's in my class up there. So and the
same thing Lucas ensures that people are learning that you're
actually learning. So that's what. So that's what we did.
It was a struggle and and and we we It
was a how do you say things? We learned Like
(01:02:23):
we used to do striking, we stopped doing striking. We
don't do that. So everything is escaping, being able to
block himself when somebody tries to punch him. We have
guarding that we do. So and I continue training. I
continue my own knowledge. I go to other places like
(01:02:44):
I go up and I'll train with Crew Ballard up
there for to learn some new techniques through Japanese jiu jitsu.
I'll hit an advanced class around here just to learn
different things on how different people teach. I'll go see
Mike di on A and go up and sit in
his advanced class. I'll sit in Lucas's. I'm normally at
(01:03:05):
Lucas's advanced classes and and sit there whatever new techniques
I can learn. So I'm always learning. I've never I
won't stop learning. I love jiu jitsu too much, and
I love bringing back what I learn back to my people.
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Is there another mixed martial arts organization that you know
of that is working with with people who are who
learn differently, folks with autism or any other disability.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Absolutely? Absolutely. I don't know about MMA. I can't name
them off that, but most most martial arts places have
have some sort of that they might have one or
two people that are special needs or something like that. Okay, yeah,
I mean it's not uncommon.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
I think it's wonderful what you do. I think it's
incredible that you bring that to My viewers are followers
right here on this platform. You do this on Saturday mornings, yep,
right around nine thirty or so, yep, which is the
the end of your time with Dante. Yes, it is,
(01:04:22):
and it's used kind of as a reward to go live,
and he understands he thinks he's on TV.
Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
That's his fans, that's his Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Does he realize how many people have seen him? Like
a lot of people have seen Dante.
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
I know, I've been approached by people. They're like, you're
the guy, and I have no clue who they are.
You're the guy with Dante. Yeah, yeah, I am on
that prick.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
He's such a good kid man. Tomorrow morning, nine thirty,
and he was sick last weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
I think. Now last weekend, I was at a seminar
and he was a six degree black belt and he
was he taught me and broke down the Della Diva guard.
He was He was in Brazil training under Della Eva
when Delahva developed that guard. So that guy had so
(01:05:15):
many little just little key points to tighten up a
Delaheva guard. And you have no clue what I'm talking about.
Neither does ninety nine point nine percent of the people
on there. So I'll stop talking about that. But that's
where I was. It was super exciting. The guy is
so listen to this that the guy was super super
cool and he had you know, he had some life lessons.
(01:05:36):
He started jiu jitsu when he was twelve and he
was the same age as me fifty two because he
got robbed at knife point in Brazil. So he was
wedding the bet. Yep, he was wedding the bed. His
parents couldn't figure out what's wrong. Than they brought him
a psychiatrist. They said, try Brazilian jiu jitsu, give him
some self confidence. Yeah, and he uh yeah, and then
(01:05:59):
he became a world cham and yeah, he's right in Massachusetts.
I went down to Bond Muayti down there and sat
in a seminar. So that's what I do is so
I have the opportunity. Luke works all the time. Luke works,
you know, he works at his regular job. Plus he's
training the fighters. He's got Sophia and Matthew and Johnny
and Chris Prawl. He's got all them guys. So he's
(01:06:19):
got all that going on. So I yeah, So I
take that opportunity myself to go and travel around and
gain knowledge that I can bring back to our students
and help our teammates and Granite City.
Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
It's it's it's incredible. Make sure you're you're tuned in
tomorrow morning. If you're not liking and following this page,
you gotta be because there's some great content that is
coming out and some of.
Speaker 1 (01:06:50):

show last time. Awesome amazing. The flying ants.
Speaker 1 (01:08:07):

make that boy work. Also not hot. Have you seen
my wife? My wife's pretty much your wife is. She
is hot.
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):

not like a bunch of trade Russians. Sit down, just
sit down, sitting. I'm going with g and Jed and
(01:14:38):
Sherilyn and Lily. They're taking us, some might say, holding
us captive and bringing us to Manchester, New Hampshire, to
the the big theater there.
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
I don't know what it's. What it is where they do.
Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
You know what me and my wife have been talking
about that I need to I need to start to
get my wife out like she is such a homebody,
she's disconnected from everything and just we need to start
getting back out.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Yeah, you do, because she has so much fun when
the Joseph Smith lights.
Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
Yes, we are Brenda by Brenda. Here's the thing. When
we go out to see the Joseph Smith lights. Yeah,
I have a flask. I don't have to drive. I
have one that's like that big a flask. Yeah, it's enormous.
(01:15:32):
I wanted in a silent augen.
Speaker 2 (01:15:38):
I just had an idea of something that we could do.
But I need to put this together in my mind
before I'll have my book here, before I get a rendre.
Next Friday, Are we doing a show next Friday? No,
it's Black Friday. But uh well maybe maybe maybe can
we say maybe?
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
I know you have kids and ship like that and
it's big for you, but I don't. I could be
home doing nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Tomorrow is Did we talk about the Kinney Drugs Thanksgiving
pie and dessert sale at Kenney Drugs to support the
Bury Area Senior Center tomorrow morning at ten am. Yes

that Rex is going to be partaking in the Williamstown
Turkey Trot. Uh you be, You're gonna be do the

Speaker 1 (01:16:29):
I would have, but I have Dante.
Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
When I think of runner, I think of you.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
I am definitely not a runner because it chased my nipples.
I have bad chafing on my nipples. Could never be
a runner. Because of my nipples.
Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
You're going to run when I'm chasing you. I would
tell you that right now, and.
Speaker 1 (01:16:50):
My laser an inch taller than yours, so I could
get away because I can cover more.
Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
Also happening tomorrow is the Falling into the Holidays craft
fair at the Berry Elks Lodge. We have tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
The sock sale.
Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
Oh you finally figured that thing out, You're silly fool
The Cabin. The cabin socks sale in Northfield, they don't
even have to advertise anymore, has been going on for
so long. If you're in Vermont, you should just know
the date like every woman. Every you ask any woman
in Vermont what day and where the sock sale is,
(01:17:34):
they will fucking tell you. I know you tried to
look on the internet. Alls you to do is go
home and ask your wife.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
I went to the goddamn sock sale. Seriously, listen, I'm
not joking. I'll prove it. I'll take the pictures and
show you. I have three big totes of socks from
the from the Cabin socks sale.
Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
Three. I'm just not a fan man.
Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
And a Birero and a birerou. Sherlyn, she'll tell you.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
Oh look, no, wearing them right now. I'm wearing them
right now either.
Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
I reached out to Rick Cabot yesterday to see if
he'd come on the air with me this morning. Didn't
hear back from him. But I'm telling you, man, sock
sale weekend it's big. Yeah, let's keep hit up.
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
Get him on people. I want to come on with him.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
People. Wait, they started, They camp out. People get there
cracking dawn, ash crack of dawn to wait for the
sock sale to open.
Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
Yeah, because because your old man is getting up at
like three point thirty in the morning, you have to
get up cooking breakfast so he can go hunting, and
you're heading off with the ladies for the sock sale.
I can remember that as a kid, if you weren't
hunting with your parents, you were getting ready with the
ladies and all the kids in your head. No, this sale, Oh,
(01:18:53):
that was like a Vermont tradition. It's just like the
strippers at Gusto's. That's like widow weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
Well that's happening, by the way, Yeah, that's happened. They
asked me to be one of the strippers, and I said,
you know, I don't think Sherilyn would want that to happen.
Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
I just ran out of body oil otherwise I would.
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, And I got some of those leather chaps over
at buff Airs and I was thinking about it, but
I'm like, you know, I just don't want to create
any ruffles at home. You know, I don't jealousy all
of that. I don't want that. The annual Hoop Shoot
is at Spaulding High School tomorrow ten am in conjunction
(01:19:33):
with the Elks National Foundation. Barry Elks hosting it again
this year.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
