Speaker 1 (00:00):
So first, let's dig it off. Oh no, no, no, true,
you'll never guess so sidebar. Yes. And also I feel
like I shouldn't have to remember everything I know. Actually
I have to talk about this.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Three two one, Hi everyone.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Hey, I'm Alicia and I'm Meredith and this is also podcasts,
just us here talking about.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Whatever the hell we want, just us again.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Sorry if you're sad to hear us again, but you
chose to play your decision great before we get into
all of our fun things. If you are excited that
it's us again and you want more of us, fear not,

on the Patreon of years of content that you could like,
divulge into. Divulge divulge doesn't matter. That's my Chicago accent.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Pronounce a lot of words, wrongs, Patreon.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
It's my accent, and I'll blame it on that till
the day I die. I'm like Jacks. I can never
do Sure Jan, Sure Jan. Also, please be sure to rate,
review and subscribe. And hey, if you feel like the
need to have us talk about a certain sum some
just DM us, we'll discuss it. We love discussing random things. Yeah,
(01:32):
that's what this episode is going to be. It's a
Friday afternoon. It's going to be random. We both should
be working.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Well, don't tell my company that chill chill over there.
It's it's after ours.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
That's true, it is. It's just after ours. It's just just.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Turned five oh one five pocket.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
And we said goodbye. We're done. Okay, cool, So Meredith,
let's do small celebrations, shall we.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Let's do it celebration. I am this one's big because
our amazing listener, Ali DM does about how she works
for Duney and Burke in February and wanted to gift
us like her company does this like gifting series, I guess,
and she recommended us and I got my purse and
(02:22):
it is so cute and I just want to say,
this is like so perfect for my life, especially like
she doesn't Ali does not know this, but I've never
even told you this. When I was growing up, my
family friend mom did not have a daughter, and so
like I was pretty much her pseudo daughter, and all
my big life moments she would buy me a purse,
and my first one was a Duni and Burke purse,
(02:45):
and then like some other brands after. But like when
I graduated eighth grade, when I graduated high school, like
when I made my confirmation, like all the big moments
in my life, I've been gifted a purse by her
my gag. So I feel like this is like our
five year anniversary, like big moment. It's like come through
in that way. That's true. Oh my god, that's so cute.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
I need to I've been traveling. I'm so bad at
checking my mails and packages, so I have to go
down and grab mine because listen the doorman. Whenever I
go down and I'm like, can I check for the packages,
They're like, we just got the delivery. Can you wait?
And then I'm like, I guess, but because I have
to go through the mail room, so I'll go look
and grab mine. But oh my god, that's so exciting.
(03:28):
It was.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
It was so fun to unwrap it. We've never been
like gifted anything.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
No, so so oh my god, it's been so Funzi.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
That's so true.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
I still use those koozie gosh.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I love those especially now because they're like our vintage
logos like, oh.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
My god, I still use Dusk. Well, first of all,
I use Jackie, so I'm almost so. But I love
the koozies that Dustin makes and and I think he
sells them. So everyone go check out Kozy Guy on Instagram. True, yeah,
like great stuff, So thank you and if anyone else
like you, don't have to send us stuff. But if
(04:10):
you want to plug your shit, let us know and
we'll talk about it. Oh yeah, unless it's terrible, unless
it's just bad.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Can't be as bad as this podcast.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
No, this is the worst it could. I mean, I
don't know, but we will. We are big supporters of
soap coozies and purses. That's the kind of our brand.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
That's all I need.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Wraps us up.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Would like maybe an alcohol sponsor, but who am I?
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Kyle? You can you love her? Boy?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
You know what, I'm not sober?
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Okay? What about my small celeberty? Oh my god? Okay,
so ye'ah. Meredith, if you don't follow us on TikTok
and Instagram, you're missing out because Meredith always does these long,
long timelines, but they're so good because she really dives
deep into all things that we need to know So
it started with the Mormon Wives working out with this show,
(05:05):
and Meredith was like, I'm so excited, and I was like,
who the fuck are these Mormon wives? Like I must
not be on mom mom talk, and Meredith was like, actually,
that's a good point. I'm going to make a full
timeline for you, basically so you can know before we
watched the show, and they like blew up. But I
was like, thank god, because I never listen. If there's
(05:27):
one of us that's gonna fact check, it's gonna be Meredith.
It's not me. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I'm here to give you the prequel of the Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So Meredith has done this timeline series where she'll I
will most of the time be like who the fuck
is this person? And Meredith's like, I'll just do a timeline,
but this isn't a timeline. But what really bugged me
this past summer was that everyone's watching Love Island series
and six USA, but no one knew my Love Island
UK jokes because everyone just jumped in on the USA bandwagon.
(05:57):
Just fine, But like I want to quote Love Island
UK and I want you to know what I'm talking.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
And be able to compare it. Be like, oh my god,
this is just like this moment.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Yes, like I just want to talk about it. So
I have been working on like explaining Love Island UK
series since to people off TikTok and this. Meredith knows.
I hate making a TikTok, but I did season one
last night, and I'm so excited because I think it's
kind of good that might we might get too like that.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
I don't think you dislike it. It's that the editing
and all the extra stuff that goes into them. But
in order to do something to this level, you knew
that it would acquire all this stuff. But once you
do it once, you're like, Okay, I can do it.
I got this.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah, but like success out success, I'm doing it once.
I have to say season or series one of UK,
not much happened. It was only thirty three days, if
you believe it or not. Now they're like sell five. Yeah,
I know, so not a lot happened. But it's also
funny then to be like these two are in love
after seven stops hilarious. But season or series two crazy
(07:12):
the amount of shit that happened. I don't know how.
I was just telling Meredith, I have to somehow edit this.
But I spent a lot of time putting it, like
putting it together, and I feel really accomplished.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, people always say that the first few seasons of
reality TV show are the best ones because they're not
aware of the cameras too much, Like you don't have
enough money and fame, you know, the platform isn't there
for people to go on it to be a huge star,
and so you to get people's more natural reactions.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
And this was the season that stopped every other Future
Islander from having sex on camera. Yes, this season, I
don't know what happened in England, but they had to
have some regulations put in because we were seeing and
hearing a lot of a lot of hookups and like
it was live. I O everyone was saying.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I think the editors stopped putting it in so hard
because they wanted people to explore those real.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Connections and okay, fair, what's what's the beauty queen?
Speaker 2 (08:14):
What's her name is?
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Zara?
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Zara got like shamed so hard and lost.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Her title, Like yeah, you don't want you don't.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Want future contestants to not come on and then not
haveing like relationship.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Yeah, but season two was fun I forgot how everyone
was just fucking like rabbits. To be honest, it was
like we're just in a bed, because that always was
my thought, even still is watching Love Island, like two
hot people are in a bed together, like are we
not going to hook up? Even though, but just a
hook up?
Speaker 2 (08:45):
It always gave me like fraternity sleeping dorm. I don't know, yeah,
like I had those on your campus, but like I
have in one, and I was like I could not sleep.
I was like, there are too many people in this
room right now.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Yes, I know what you're saying, but like it was like,
these two really hot people are just like in a
bed together. And sometimes you're in a friendship couple and
you're like, we'll just we'll just hook up. And that
was the season. It was like we'll just hook up
until what happened. Some of them didn't even kiss, They
just like fucking stop. And I was like, this is
so crazy. And the Hideaway was open a lot more
(09:20):
back in the day because it was low budget, so
all the dates were like in the so people.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Would just fuck true.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
This is awesome. That's season two. Everyone says season five
is the best season, and I think to some extent
for UK. That's true, but I'll die on like season
two is where you fallen love. It has been so
much fun to relive, Like I this is where I
said this show is my favorite show. This was the
moment I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
I'm excited to watch these so that gives everybody another
call out to go watch our TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Patreon,
all the things.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
The season two one is gonna be crazy. I'm gonna
need at least forty parts.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Alicia is on her TikTok gap here so much go.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
I have to learn how to use Canva, but we'll
get there.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Just call me when you need help.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Meredith said to put on my computer. I don't know
how that works either.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
It's just a browser.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I'm having trouble picking five five pictures to put in
a template. That's all well good I did, but small celebrations.
I'm I did a I did one all by myself.
I'm doing it. I feel like my mom who just
learned how to use email. Anyway, no comment. Do you
(10:36):
have any news I do?
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I do?
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Oh good I do.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
This isn't necessarily verified news, but rumor on the street
is the new VPR cast is going to start filming
in April.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yuh, okay, will we watch it? Do we have to
for this thing? We?
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Do we do it for like like a I mean,
like I don't think we need to have a whole
dead hand episode.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Okay, maybe we should take a poll like once. I
think we should pause and not make any decisions until
we see the cast, the cast, and like what's coming
out during filming.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I think I need to see the cast, like if
it's just the butt, I like if when we saw
the cast of the original vander Pump Rules, like these
people looked crazy, like they were like it's gonna be
a good show, like Jax's he looks manic. Tom Sandville's
out here shaving his forehead, like it looks crazy. I
(11:44):
need to see this cast first and decide if it's
gonna be more trouble to cover it in detail, you.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Know, yeah, like how much is the juice worth the squeeze?
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Wow? Yeah, that's that's I love that. I've ever heard that,
but that's amazing. Yeah. No, I don't know what that is.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I think I think some decision times you can make
is based on when things are being leaked during filming
when we see the cast photos and the trailer. And
it could also be that we joined the bandwagon two
seasons in like we did with Southern Hospitality. Oh maybe,
and again like you said, like maybe we just put
(12:25):
it on. Also, we don't do dedicated episodes.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Yeah, I think it's a matter of like, if we
decided to do dedicated episodes, we gotta got season one,
I think, because we still have a backlog of vander
Pump roles to make it through, So like do we
just do that instead?
Speaker 2 (12:43):
We will never be done with vander Pump roles or
og no.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
And that's fine, but like, what else are we doing
because Summerhouse Martha's Vineyard got put on pause, and I
mean we have normal Summer House.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
I guess it depends when it comes out and if
Summer House is still going what the vibes are but questionable.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
I don't want. My initial reaction is fuck this new show.
I agree, like we could cover something so much better,
like Traders, you know, like we could get like aish.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
They would have just ended Vanner Pump. I don't think
it needed a reboot. I agree, But.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Bravo is in the stage of they have. They they're
not thinking about what's best for the show or the network.
They're just thinking about how to make more money, which
is why we even had a vander Pump season eleven,
which is why Summer House like continues to go with
the cast that's happening right Martha's Vineyard didn't get as
many viewers, so you cancel it even though you're canceling
(13:46):
like an all black cast, Like Bravo's not actually looking
at what's good for the network right now. So they're like,
we'll just reboot this dumb show. It's like, no, we
already went a season over. We already didn't need that season.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Well, what's wild is I'm pretty sure they're gonna do
what they did with Roney and just make it a
season twelve of viner Pump, just with a whole cast.
And I don't like that, like make it a whole
new show.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
See, they're not thinking about what's best for Ronie, like
they I don't know who's making decisions at Brabo, Andy Cohen,
but like, stop stop it, get some help.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Call we're available, call us.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
We can have good ideas for shows we already have.
I don't even remember any of them. That's how many
we have. They go in and out, and we're like,
that would be a great idea. Yeah, I don't even remember.
Do you remember any of the good ones? There have
been some that I'm like, that's a good one.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
We could return an intern and have them listen to
every single episode and write down.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
The good Spring Back, Summer House, Martha's Vineyard because that
was good. YEP, canceled the New Rone. I think, what
do I know? I it was good to cant Housewives,
Ultimate Girls. I think I never watched the season. I
(15:06):
didn't either, but it just seemed like like a Winter
House s where maybe didn't work.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
But I think you need some type of crossover show
because that helps the Bravo con lord, Like, I think
you have to look at the bigger picture and just
say like, oh, there's gonna be a few eight to
ten episode shows that aren't gonna pull the exact same crowds.
But it's really fun to have these crossovers and to
(15:33):
keep the connection into other shows strong.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
But then we also get bullshit Wendy commercials with Lisa
Barlow West and Jesse Wait.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
I actually love those. They cracked me up.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
That's the worst commercial I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Them, not that one specifically. I like Lisa Barlowe's other commercials.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oh, Lisa barlow in the Wendy's commercial, it's awesome. It's
Wes and Jesse. They have no chemistry agreed, like for
two guys who together bring me so much joy on TV.
Your chemistry on this Wendy's commercial was god got awful terrible.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
They clearly should have shot it from the like three
sixty camera like surveillance, not a camera face like they
they froze up there.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
It was so terrible. It's like this squirrel's making a
move on our Wendy, Like, ugh, I fucking hate that commercial.
But do more below decks. Those are always fun, Like
a good below deck is a lot of a lot
of fun, and you can you can switch in that
cast over and over and over again, true, which is
(16:34):
just amazing. Do more shows like Southern Hospitality was such
a hit because it's these nobody hot people that work
a service job that like have nothing to lose.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
I have a new take on Southern Hospitality reunion. I
know people are really mad that they didn't get a
real reunion, but okay, this is selfish of me, but
there their season was only ten episodes long, and see
what their past two as well. They're not long seasons yep,
And I think that's what keeps this cast exactly where
(17:07):
they are. They get a little extra money, but they're
not like rolling in it. Okay, So yeah, keep this
show small, keep them on watching Uppins Live, Keep them
with ten episodes because if not, we're gonna lose the magic.
They're gonna be him rich and they're not gonna work
at Republic and not.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
You need to able to work together that like, I
just need a bunch of nobody's and it can't be
a show with like that already has the backing of
vander pump Rolls, like, make it a new show at
a different restaurant. Stop having LEAs to be your boss.
Lev is a boss once and it's at Republic. We
can never do another show at one of Lev's restaurants again.
(17:48):
Find a new boss. I mean, all these dumb housewives
have dumb jobs, right, what.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Are they doing? Somebody on the Miami cast needs to
open a bar and it needs to be their cast running.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Around Yo, Miami is crazy. You could do my You're
gonna tell me that, Laura Pippen doesn't have Lara, Yes,
Larsa Jesus, I know nothing. Potomac would be great. I
mean Atlanta, someone in Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Oh, Atlanta would be good.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Wow. Yeah, there's a sweet spot to it. Like I'm
concerned though, for Southern hospitality that these people are gonna
get so big and so hungry and like so not
in the drama because even sometimes this season it was
like you could feel the lull. Yeah, I'm like a
little nervous this show.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Might you gotta keep it ten episodes.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Okay, I'm with you. I still think we could have
a good reunion stage.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
I agree with that, But I don't think they need
to like pump all this money into it, like keep
it the exact budget you're working with.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Just keep it a little bit a little bit of
a little gross, a little grimy. These I love when
it looks like this cast does in shower and smoke
SIGs constantly, Like those are that's my time. Think of
vander Pump Rules. I mean its best seasons were two
through four, absolutely for sure. I mean season two was
(19:17):
put it in the loof. It was beautiful. I want
to buy it on DVD just to have it forever.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
I mean, there's there could be a media of scarcity.
So maybe we do need to start buying our favorite
reality TV shows on DVD and VHS bring it back. Oh,
speaking of southern hospitality, Will was on our enemy Nick
Viele's podcast.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Oh my God, name two men I hate more than
Will and Nick Viel And can I just say I
love having one sided internet beef with all these terrible men.
This goes for you to Dave Portinoy, fuck Nick viel
for doing these bad Bravo interviews. It's like he has
no stance. He never is like, hey, this is what
(20:00):
the audience thinks. He's just like, oh, that's your story.
I'm on your side like.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
That that it's it's that he can't even say like, hey,
this is the narrative online whether he believes it or not,
but that is what is being talked about. So let's
confront this on what people are saying and what's not
fitting with your story and where people are poking holes
and things.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
The only person he's ever done that with is Tom Sandoval.
But Bailly, yeah barely, and he knew Tom right like
he was disrespectfully late.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
And I feel like he was only angry and pushing
back because Tom Sandibal was late and then claimed that
Nick was late, so that Nick was angry and like
was willing to push back because it was about Nick.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yes, I haven't watched this dumb interview. I've listened to
recaps of people because I'm going to give them my
money instead of feel the exact same way. And I
know someone on TikTok's going to listen to it, so
I'm not going to be that source of income for
Nick Viel. But from what I did see, it was
like like Nick and Emmy go on this podcast and
(21:04):
they're like, everyone's just in our business, and Nick Vyel's like,
it's ridiculous that everyone's in your business. We're on a
fucking TV show. We're on a fucking TV show.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, what what do you want people to be in
your garage?
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Like, we're in your business?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
You are, You don't get the same experience is as
two random people who just work at a bar anymore. No,
it is everybody's job to be in everybody's business.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
You've put your relationship on camera, you're making money off
your relationship. We are now going to comment on your relationship.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Yeah, I understand if it's something that like with your
family when you were younger and ex from ten years ago, Like,
why is that being dragged into this show because that
didn't exist on the show. You chose to put your
relationship on this show, and this is the topic of
conversation and you have yet to actually really come on
it besides spinning some crazy narrative none of us believe.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
And both parties consented. It's not like one of those
where one party decides not to be on TV. Both
parties are making money off of this thing, like how
oh my god, and Nick Fayal just being like, no,
you're right. Everyone else seems to be bored with their
own yes fun.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
It's like this is three months and when Emmy was like,
oh my god, they waited like six weeks to put
this on the show. Of course we're fucking waiting. That's
what this is for. We get ten episodes. We have
very limited time to make an impact and have a story.
You bet your fucking ass, I'm going to page store.
Will always talked about how those Summer House castmates try
(22:43):
not to talk during the week off camera because you
gotta save the good stuff for the camera, you know.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
And how dare then like, will not show up to
the reunion, but be like, I'm gonna go on fucking
Nick Viel's podcast because nick Viel doesn't actually watch BROB
and he's just gonna be on my side and give
me a good edit. You think you look better being
on nick Byo's podcast, You would get a better edit
on our podcast when we grill you like this makes
(23:11):
me hate you more.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
I agree, because they used oh, his mental health can't
take it and is only going to worsen people's conversation
about mental health too. You're using it as an excuse,
or maybe it is valid, but then why are you
not concerned to talk about it with other people. Oh,
it's because you have so much support and nobody's going
to push back on you. That's why it's not affecting
(23:34):
your mental health anymore.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
The other thing is you're using your mental health as
a reason to not answer for the things you've done
right or like the things you've been accused of doing.
And also it doesn't seem like your girlfriend has great
mental health at the moment, but you leave her out
to dry by herself to answer for your crimes in
(23:55):
a way.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
And like you just I don't sit in the back
that you care about your mental health like you say
you do about skipping a reunion until you also leave
the show, because clearly this isn't for you, this isn't
for Emmy. But I bet you they will want to
be back on next season.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
I just looked up Reddit. I was just like, I
gotta see if someone like has some sort of breakdown,
because like, it's not going to be me, so someone's
like I didn't listen the whole thing because Nick was
hardly pushing back. Shocker. But here's a recap. So there's
a discussion about dating for four years, meeting through F
forty five training, and they have the same birthdays. Yeah,
(24:35):
oh yeah, I saw it. It was just the other day.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
It was on the twelve.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Okay, they've known the cast for a long time. Will
accuses the cast of being camera drunk crafting storylines for
screen time and making Will and Emmy the targets and
what do you want us to do? Not have a storyline?
Bet bet the camera turns on and I think of
all the things we need to bring up. Yes, Emmy
(24:59):
says her mom recognizes her mouth downs, as in she's
always been that way.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
If my parents were like always been girl therapy, therapy
immediately the fact that Emmy fully had to double down
at one point to breathe, and everyone was like laugh,
she is so dramatic about it.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Anyway, Yes, in terms of the quote shit talking Emmy,
Will says the starting point was true. He was going
through a hard time, life changing, just had surgery, used
alcohol as advice. When he got back to Charleston, he
over shared his concerns, which already that's a red flag
get out.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
But like I'm like, okay, why then why wouldn't you
talk about it on the season If you're like, listen,
I said all this shitty stuff. He like touched on
it for a second and was like I did it pass.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
And it's done. But it's like, okay, if I hear
you talking shit about my friend, though, just because you
own up to it doesn't mean it's done for me. Like,
if you're talking shit to me, I'm gonna be like, no,
what the fuck have you talked to her about it?
Have you cleared it up?
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Like?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Where what have you worked on?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Because what are we doing differently to not be in
this place anymore?
Speaker 1 (26:11):
And it's not just that Will and or Emmy went
to their friends and was like, oh Will talked shit,
or Will being like, oh I talked shit about Emmy,
but we cleared it up. It was fully like Will
was doing it to other people, so he's immediately involving that, right, Like,
am I crazy?
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Okay, No you're not. That's so true. Like they didn't
just pull all this stuff out of thin air. They
were involved in this. They get dragged into it. It's
similar O Kyle on someone house. It's like, oh Page
is in the middle of it. No, no, no, you
put them there.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Okay, So they Will thought they were growing apart and
Emmy was focusing on the wrong things. The silver lining
for Will to recognize his own failure and let them
talk about his feelings more. Will says it only happened twice,
dude once. If you're all talking shit about me as
my long term boyfriend, impossible future fiance more than zero times, Yeah,
(27:07):
what the fuck are we doing?
Speaker 2 (27:08):
And I heard on Nick Botles's podcast he was going
through everybody he talked to about it to say that,
oh it was nobody, like, no strangers were the ones
to receive this information, which is like, why is that
what we're so clarifying. But oh, what's her name? Oh
who dated Craig on Southern Charm Naomi? Naomi was one
of the people, and he was like, yeah, no, I
(27:28):
know her. She's the baby Sidney, be so fucking for real.
If you're telling your old babysitter that you hate your
current girlfriend and you're trying to say like, oh, no,
worries because I know her, that's a stranger. Now, you
guys are not friends.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Have you ever just want to bang your head against
the wall? Okay, so Will says it only happens twice.
Nick just fluffs their ego and agrees it was just
venting and way different from someone shit talking their relationship.
Quote just someone sitting down with some friends, he thought,
in confidence, in venting. No, I hate Nick Vail. See
(28:05):
he's blowing it as a married man, like you should
be like you shouldn't be talking shit about your girl, dude,
Like like, where where's Natalie?
Speaker 2 (28:14):
To be? Like, no, I would not be Okay if
my husband did this to me, he.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Wasn't going around town talking about the issues.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
He did it twice.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Nobody babysitter, nobody's around town.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Okay, I would not clarify like classify that as around town.
But you are going to our friends and talking shit
about me. That's worse to me.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
See, yeah, I would actually rather you tell a stranger.
So regarding Will saying Emmy is anorexic, Emmy says the
cast used harsher words. Oh so just because Will's words
weren't the harshest.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Wait, so he said inarexic or that was them like
blowing it up.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
I don't know it, says Will, saying Emmy is anarexic
and Emmy's and then it says Emmy says the cast
used harsher words. Okay, well, just because someone calls me
a bitch and someone else calls me a loser, Like yeah,
one one isn't sure one's worse than the other, but
they both can hurt equally. So explains that Will knows
(29:17):
Emmy has had a pass with body issues and got
skinny skinny through unhealthy means in the past. Says that
because she got really fit and began a new lifestyle
with sobriety and working out, well, he was away at school.
He was just trying to ask people if she was okay,
and the cast ran with it, claiming he's anorexic. Why
wouldn't he talk to Emmy about it? Or Emmy's like sister,
(29:38):
you know, but why are we talking to TJ about it? Also?
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Like is she okay? I am also concerned?
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Yeah, true, she lost a lot of weight quick which
if she's doing it in a healthy way, fine, But
is this an obsession?
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Like nobody loses that much that weight that quickly in
a healthy manner. There is a definitely a change of lifestyle,
for sure, But she's also crashing out constantly.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
That's true. This is the way she's always been. She
can never have a handle on her emotions. Crazy. So
Will mentions he's thrown away her scale before because she
can be obsessive. So we just wanted to ask people
about the changes that I think is fine to be, like, hey,
have you noticed a difference in Emmy since I've been away?
Speaker 2 (30:23):
But why why aren't we having those conversations on camera?
Like they are unwilling to talk about their relationship, So
then we only get the fallout from Will running around
town to people he knows so well, and then we
don't get the Emmy and Will's side of it of
trying to rectify what happened and his concerns for her,
(30:45):
like they're unwilling to put that on camera.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Well, then it also as an audience is hard for
us to believe. Will is like I was just acting
out of concern. Okay, well we didn't see it, so
like forgetting what everyone else is saying.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
I think it'd be really powerful actually to see Will
be so casarned about Emmy and want to talk to
her about it and say like, hey, like, clearly you're
having trouble handling your emotions. You're clearly working out a lot,
Like I think you should go see someone like let's
check on your medication. What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (31:14):
And I think it would show that Will actually cares
about Emmy, because right now I don't think he does that.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
See, that would require him to care about her.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
There you go. So they say all this shit talking
happened at the end of March, but their friends didn't
go to Emmy until cameras went up filming in June. Okay,
and Will says some people definitely waited for the cameras.
Emmy specifically calls out TJ and Brad, and she gives
Michaels and Maddie an exception because Maddie and Emmy were
(31:42):
barely rebuilding the friendship, and Michael's has no relationship with
Will puts the blame on TJ and Brad because they
were the ones who had a relationship with both of them.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Wait, but also, you guys said that Will came home
almost immediately and you guys resolved it, So why wouldn't
it Will go to his friends and be like, Okay,
I did talk to Emmy and like give them an
update about where his relationship is at.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
I just can't. That was the end of kind of
like the breakdown.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Yeah, that's all that I heard too.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Yuck.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Can we talk about another terrible man?
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Oh? I love? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Well?
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Who else?
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Jax Taylor announced that his podcast is going on a
tour question Mark Who is Buying? I saw the comments
on his TikTok and that was the energy. Everybody was like,
I'm sorry, I worked so hard for my money and
you think I'm gonna spend it here?
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Who's buying this? Who's going waste of my time and money?
To be honest, I'm so.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Curious what his podcast downloads are because how can you
I cannot imagine going on a tour the first year ish.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
A podcast podcast. Is it like iHeartRadio or something.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
I think it was tech. I think it's podcast one,
but it was under Britney's like their joint podcasts. Yeah,
it was under that feed, and I think it's starting
a new feed here with Britney's rebrand.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Oh okay, so so it's gonna be that podcast when
reality hits. It's owned by podcast one, but Brittany is
getting that one right.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
He has to restart, like they're called RSS feeds, He'll
have to start a new one. His podcasts were being
pushed out on their when reality hits, but I think
that he's gonna have to move over.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
So he doesn't even have a podcast he's taking on tour.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
I mean, he's like been recording episodes, but I don't
I'm very curious what their audience.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Would be because if.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
You subscribe to like when reality hits, you're gonna all
automatically get downloaded.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
His here it is in the mind of a man
with Jax Taylor who wants to go and do the
I don't know if Jack is aware, but unfortunately every
time I turn on the news, I get the unfiltered
thoughts of a man already two dumb men. I don't
need a third Oh my god, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
No, no, no, I don't need to pay to hear this.
I already get it free.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
I have to choose to live. Oh my god. In
the mind of a man, the patriarchy needs to die
and need to die.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Either the patriarchy dies or I do. We can't both.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
At this point. At this point, it's not looking good
for us. But Jesus Christ in the mind of a man, okay, great, yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Like he's put on episodes, but he doesn't have like
a standalone podcast yet and it's been like a few.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Uh. It looks like yesterday was his premiere episode with
Alex Baskin. Oh wait really, creator of vander pump Rolls. Oh,
then maybe he's been doing his and the Valley. Maybe
he's been.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Or like saying some of this stuff on his when
reality hits episodes. I just thought he had already started that.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
He might have recorded a bunch, but there's only one
out right now. In the mind of a man, Oh yeah,
can't wait for that toxic energy anyway, I have more
news about men that are terrible.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
That is not his premiere episode. He has a few.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Uh. The mind of a man. Yeah, I'm looking on
Spotify right now. There's only the one.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
No, no, it's they're under Britney's. Oh so he was
releasing them under her RSSV Oh okay when she rebranded,
he has to start his own.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Okay, yeah, so his own only has one the creator producer. Okay, great,
I have okay, another terrible man. Okay. Harry Jowsey is
dating that girl from Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Alisha. I threw my phone on the ground when I
saw that because I haven't talked about it on here,
but Alisha knows I've been watching, I've been rewatching Pretty
Little Liars, and I can't believe somebody would want to
date that man like this is ruining my watching.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Harry Chowsey is the worst. I'm surprised he even got
any kind of podcast on out I name, what's the
unwell whatever that is. That's crazy that she would give
a terrible man like that a platform, because he's just
(36:40):
he's gross, he's weird, he's gross. There have been rumors
that he's not very nice to the partners he dates,
and now he's dating Lucy Hale of all people. But
I mean, she did for a long time on TV
dater teacher, so maybe there's a little psych like maybe
(37:00):
psychology wise, She's like, well, aft up. Yeah, I'm just
a little confused, Lucy Hale, what's up with that? What's
going on? Are we okay? I don't know. Also, isn't
he like way younger than her? Why do I think
he's like a baby because he acts like it?
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Should I look up how old he is? Right now?
Speaker 2 (37:22):
How old do you think I'll look up her age?
I would think he's like thirty four to thirty five.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
No, thirty two, Meredith, he is twenty seven. He's of
a child.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
You're lying to me. Lucy Hale is thirty five years old? No,
shame in the age age range.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
No, No, that's a great age range. But like Harry
JOUSEI has the mindset of a twelve year old, and
Lucy Hale has like his frontal lobe is barely developed.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
And she's been in the industry for years that herd's
developed at like lights lightspeed.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Hers has been developed. So like, what are we doing? Oh? Terrible?
If it was a different twenty seven year old, I'd
be so for it. It's terrible. It's Harry Harry could
have been forty five and I'd still be like, why
are we dating him?
Speaker 2 (38:13):
That's why I was like, he has to he just
has to be older, because how has he done so
many bad things?
Speaker 1 (38:21):
And then date's Lucy Hale. Is there something about Lucy Hale?
I don't know. I feel like she's a good person
in Hollywood, no good relative to Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Yeah, I don't know enough.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
I don't know enough about either of them except that
I hate Harry Chousey on my screen and I think
he's kind of terrible.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
I'm giving it six months max from now.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Yikes. I mean, while we're talking about terrible men. My
poor uncle, who knows nothing. He is a big Dave
Portinoy pizza rou fan, and he visited New York and
him and his son, my cousin, they were like, we're
gonna go to all of Dave Portnoy's pizza review spots.
And I just I was like, whatever, do whatever you
(39:04):
gotta do. I'm not here to spoil your New York
dream or whatever. But he now always texts me things like, hey,
Dave Portnoy did a review on this pizza place. Have
you been? And I'm like no, because The last person
I'm taking any kind of advice from is Dave Portnoy,
Like I don't even when it comes to pizza, Like,
I don't follow this man. I know his pizza reviews,
(39:26):
I don't follow him. And my uncle's always like like
this recent when he sent this week's was like, oh,
you gotta try this pizza place. The man, the myth,
the legend. Dave Portnoy reviewed it, and I had a
respond and be like, yeah, I don't really like Dave Portnoy,
but if I'm near this pizza place, like, I'll give
it a try for you, just for him.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
You're like, you're not advertising it to me correctly. Don't
tell me Dave Porner was involved. Just tell me, like, hey,
you should if you're ever near this place. It was good.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
I did say he doesn't have the best reputation around
New York City. I didn't want to tell him globally
he sucks horrible. Yeah, my uncle, who doesn't keep up
with pop culture is he has like a job and
two young children. I can't imagine he's out here seeing
all the terrible things. Dave Forteno, He's saying, definitely not.
(40:16):
He has no idea who Brown a chicken fry is
or Grace O'Malley, So he wasn't in any of that drama,
but stop sending these. He was like, don't care. I
don't care. Oh god, any other news?
Speaker 2 (40:29):
That is all I had.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Okay, should we get into reading, watching, and listening hell
to the Yeah, okay, So I have not been giving
a lot of time to reading. It's very sad. I
need to step up my game because I'm never going
to meet my goal of fifty books in the year
because I haven't even hit ten yet and the quarters
almost over, you know. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
But also February is this like shortest month and summer
reads are so easy.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
Oh, I have hit ten books. So I'm currently I
was like, I'm kind of feeling like a fantasy and
so I'm currently reading it's called a Daughter of No Worlds.
It's by the same author that did My Vampire Remember
my Vampire books? That was like crazy, enemies to lovers
to enemies again wild. So I'm reading this series. There's
(41:20):
three books in the series. I'm only on the first.
My friend read them. She said the first book's a
little slow, which it kind of is, but the second
and third book pick up. But I would like to
say so without really spoiling anything, because I'm only in
the first half of the book, not even even before
that first twenty five percent. The main girl she is
(41:41):
gonna she has to be trained, like she has to
do an apprenticeship to learn her magic, like hone in
on her skills, and so she goes to meet with
this grumpy guy who doesn't want to train her. Classic
yeah grumpy, but the way he was written, I pictured
like a grumpy Dumbledore, like just this old credit Hagrid Hagrid,
(42:04):
like even Hamage from the Hunger Games, Like I was
just seeing this like like because the way it's described,
They're like, you have to train this girl, and he's like,
I don't want to. I left that a long time ago.
So I'm like, oh, it's been a long time. And
by no means do people not age in this world.
So I'm like, you know, he must be old. And
so he also has his like friend come over and
(42:26):
he's like, I didn't invite you to my home, like
he's just crabby, And then we get a scene where
she is like, oh my god, I see him without
his shirt and he's beautiful, and I went wait, wait, wait, you're.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Like, gott to rewrite that way?
Speaker 1 (42:41):
What does he look like? I was like, Dumbledore is beautiful.
I mean I had to think. It was like he
has abs, and I was like, wait.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
This is this is why I need writers to give
me a description a little bit earlier on because when
I when I put something in my brain, when I
build that character in my mind, it is really hard
to change it.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
Yes, she's also twenty one, and so I am like, oh,
he's fifty something, you know, like he's hay Midge from
the Hunger Games. So then she's like he's beautiful, and
I was like, he could still be Hamidge, but if
they end up together, then that's a crazy age gap
I can't get behind. So then I like had to
look up how old this character is and try to
(43:24):
avoid spoilers. And he's also in his twenties, and I
was like, oh my god, I gotta I gotta reimagine
who this is. So now I'm kind of landed on
like a Nick Miller s because Nick is grumpy. Nick
Miller is a grumpy character, yeah, with an old man vibe,
but is like young and hot. I'm like, and maybe
(43:45):
I'm going with that.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
I think he needs to be scruffy, though, similar to
the Dumbledore yamage, Nick.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Miller can get a little scruffy.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
He's not asked scruffy Midwestern A nice beer beer?
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Yeah, but oh my god, was I like sitting? I
even called my friend who fully phone called cold called
her and was like, how old is this character? And
why did why was I picturing Doubledore? Why was I
like this old man?
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Rumpy feels old?
Speaker 1 (44:18):
Maybe that it was so funny, though, But I can't
really recommend this book yet because I don't feel like
I'm far enough. I need to read. I'm falling behind.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
You're doing wonderful. I don't think you're falling behind as
much as you think you are. I bet we're because like,
what week in the year are we And it's only
I don't know, you're maybe like a week behind, which
is can be made up.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
I've been just watching a lot of TV, which would
I enjoy? Yeah, anyway, should we go into watching?
Speaker 2 (44:46):
Yeah? What have you been watching? What have you been
doing with your time?
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Haven't I been watching? So I'm caught up on Beverly Hills.
I know you're not, But that's a show we can
spoil that like no one cares. Also, nothing happened that.
I was like, ah, Meredith, it's it's life changing, you know.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
I think that's what it is is it's everything I see.
It's just like, uh, it's not like dire for me
to watch it right now. It's like Mauricio finally talking
to Kyle and I'm like, okay, I did too.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
I did really feel for her in that in that scene,
and I was at work too, so I was like
half paying attention, but I fully stopped and like my
heart kind of hurt. Like just I understand that they've
been separated for like a season already and now like
we're in season two of them being separated, but just
like how awkward it was for them to talk about it,
(45:40):
and like how sorry he felt and how like sad
she was, like even without her explaining her side, Like
I could feel the emotion, and I was like, God,
it has to be so hard that, like after twenty
something years and a full life together and multiple kids
and then like you both know you're moving on, but
then just see it and be like that is who?
(46:02):
Like that kind of hurt. PK and Durit also got
back together. Pik is gross dude, he's just wait yeah,
when you say back got back together just they filmed
the scene. They filmed the scene, and they they grabbed,
they grabbed de lunch or dinner. I love that though
these two argue before we even take the order, because
(46:23):
then the waitress comes over and she's like, sorry to interrupt,
but can I take your order?
Speaker 2 (46:29):
It's so funny for the weary we will be arguing
the entire scene.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
It was. It was so funny. This poor waitress, the
first waiter when they first went out to eat, Oh
my god, that diva. He was like, what can I
get you bitches? And I was like, he's amazing. This
girl was like, I'm sorry to interrupt. I'm just trying
to do my job right, Can I get you anything?
(46:54):
Garcella and Durite also have a lovely chat, which I
think was was needed. But now they're all in Puntakana,
Panama City, somewhere somewhere, who cares. They're on a beach case.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Those two places you just listened are not.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
Where to rate go. It's something with a P, but
they are on a beach vacation. That who's the new
new woman? Boys bows puts together and Dey does a
great Sutton impression when she's like sentence only is like
this smert, and I'm like, is she kinda is? But
(47:34):
Sutton then is very mad that Kyle and Durry seem
to be on good terms, because then that means but
Garcel reads her to filth and is like, well that
you're just mad because then your friendship with Kyle is
like kind of put to the wayside. She's like, you
should talk to Kyle about that. You shouldn't take that
on Red.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
Yeah, that's a good that's a good point. I think
Garcel does put Sutton in her place in the right manner.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
I think Sutton or yeah, well, I think everyone just
maybe hates to Reik because she's maga, which that's understandable.
Hate her a little.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
I think she's just a little fake, and there's some
of it that I like, And then there's moments that
I'm like, all right, Daria, like simmeredown, like it's not
that deep.
Speaker 1 (48:21):
Yeah, durit is, Derey. We know what we're getting. She's
clearly maga. I get Garcel's probably like fuck that bitch,
and you know what, Yeah, if we're gonna bring up politics,
let's talk about it. Unfortunately they don't talk about politics,
so like we keep it out of the show a
little bit. So like do I like Darita as a person? No,
but on my screen she's absolutely hysterical, and garcel I
(48:44):
like is kind of holding Sutton to be like, hey man.
She even says she's like Sun's eyes right now are crazy.
You can see the change when Sutton goes from like
fun sonton to like crazy says and Erica Jane's also
very fun. Shout out Erica she's been doing. It's crazy
how I can go from one season I want Erica
to literally never race my screen and now I'm like
(49:05):
life without her would be sad.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
I think we've really moved past her legal troubles so
she's like enjoyable again.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
Yeah. Did you know Erica was the first ever like
victim on SVU at eighteen years old or Law and
Order SVU. I don't know is it a Law and
Order or a Law and Order.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
SVU, but she was there's two I know.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Fuck Erica Jane like she was.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
The first extra cast on the first episode.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
Oh crap, go back, Okay. Erica Jane was is known
or she made a small uncredited appearance on the premiere
episode of Law and Order in nineteen ninety. She played
the first victim. She wasn't necessarily a murder victim, but
she was. The doctor gave her the wrong medicine and
then she died. Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
Yeah, so Law and Order.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Isn't that fun? So basically I saw an interview with
her and she was like, yeah, all I did was like,
go to this casting and convulse on this couch. And
the director was like, you got.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
The incredible convulsion.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
We love Yeah, we loved you dying do it again? Okay, great,
what are you watching anything?
Speaker 2 (50:21):
I watched Southern charm Ooh.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
Spoil it for me. I'm an episode behind.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
Okay, the really only like heavy hitters.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
All where did I leave off? They were in the.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
They were in the Mamas. Chef got broken up with
even though they were never in a relationship.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
He's so sad, He's so sad. It was so funny.
Speaker 2 (50:41):
That was so enjoyable to watch, and to watch Craig
constantly be like, can we see.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
That, Like, she's not that into you, dude.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yeah, I'm getting like Paige on the phone to say,
she's not that into you?
Speaker 1 (50:52):
And then Austin's like, I feel bad because this dude
is like getting shot at from all directions.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
I don't feel at all.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
So funny.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
Yeah, that was really enjoyable. We also left off with
Craig telling Austin he is an alcoholic, which a lot
of commentary online about him drinking and saying he's an alcoholic,
and I actually really drinking he is, but he doesn't.
I mean, he tends to lean towards like a light beer,
not hard alcohol, not you know, a craft beer to
(51:26):
try and like monitor it.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
He doesn't go out and get smashed anymore.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
That And I actually really understand this because this is
how my parents are. What they're drinking too, is it's
kind of that tendency. And I have this too, so
I tend to lean towards Craig. Like how Craig manages
this is when you start drinking, it's hard to stop.
It's not like he wakes up every morning and it
needs a shot of Like there's multiple types of alcoholism,
(51:52):
and it's just that mentality of how to pace himself
and kind of have some self control is really hard
for him. And I do have that because, like Craig,
his family members a lot of them are alcoholics. I
have family members that are alcoholics, and I understand him
wanting to try to control his environment to not either
(52:12):
drink a lot or just to not start drinking is
really helpful. And so I think that is a really
interesting conversation at But I don't think Craig is framing
it right to be able to have that type of
conversation because it's confusing people.
Speaker 1 (52:25):
Yeah, and I mean it's Craig. Does he ever say
things in the property? No?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
No, I wonder if they're going to talk about it.
I hope they talk about it at the reunion because
I don't it's not landing with the audience the way
it lands with me, and I get it, And so
I want people to kind of understand that because there
are so many people out here, Like this week page
talked about how our generation grew up and was told
the extreme of everything, like alcoholism is when you wake
(52:51):
up and you know you drink, and you just drink
all day long, and there are those nuances and all
these different types of things that we're dealing with and
addiction especial, and so how do we kind of change
that narrative to understand what the nuanced types of addiction are.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
No totally understand and honestly, when Craig said it last episode,
I fully went, oh my god, Like I'm like, isy,
I've never seen that. But I also no one in
my family, my parents don't really drink very often, Like
no one in my family really does. I'm probably the
biggest alcoholic in the family and I don't even hold
(53:29):
the torch to most people who drink. So I didn't
get it, But you explaining it like that makes sense
because I do know people who are like, once you
get one drink in them, they don't stop. They are
smashed no matter what.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
It's a big habitual thing, at least for me, like
the way I grew up in the social situations that
I grew up in, everything requires a drink in my mind,
and so I personally like police myself like I and
it sounds crazy to say these things out loud, but
like no drinking alone at home, but like normal people,
like i'd say normal, but like other people may not
(54:03):
have to think that way because that's just something that
your day goes about like that, but I think about
that constantly, Like don't start drinking alone, don't bring a
lot of alcohol into my apartment and I especially during COVID,
like my drinking got really out of control because there
was nothing to do. And yeah, everybody drank more, but
my family made everything a drinking event because it brought fun.
(54:25):
Like that's the way my family knows how to have fun.
But that's also a really negative thing when everything is
surrounded around drinking.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
Wow. Crazy.
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Yeah, So I really hope they like continue that conversation,
especially at the reunion. I think Andy could like walk
him through that a little bit better.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
Yeah, because I mean on Bravo two, we've only ever
seen like the extremes, and I mean even like we
we tend to skip over it. Like Karen from Potomac.
It was like she clearly had a brabom but she
drank and drove three different four different times, and now
she's finally in jail for it, and no one was
(55:04):
ever like, well, people were like, I think she has
a drinking problem, but no one ever took it that seriously.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Well, and it's also edited, so you don't know how
many times they're like how many drinks they're having, and
they're not going to like always put a drink counter
up unless it becomes a big discussion, like Sutton, she
got a drink counter once, but it's hard to tell
like how bad things are getting. And then you're also
filming short scenes sometimes, so while Craig may film a
scene on Southern Charm with Austin, like the cameras will
(55:31):
leave at a certain point and Craig could keep drinking
and you just don't know about it. They don't know
about it.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
Very true. Interesting. Yeah, you know, when I was sixteen,
my friend told me that she doesn't think it's a
problem if she goes out every weekend and gets totally drunk.
And I was like, really, like I didn't all I
was sixteen. I was like, okay, because that's what we
were doing in the suburbs of Chicago. But I was like, yeah,
and she goes when I start having like a drink
(55:58):
alone at my home, that's when you know I have
a problem. And now as an adult, I think about
that and I go, I don't know, a girl, I
mean you both ways, both ways I think could be issued.
I know.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Well, because also with that is it depends are you
having you know, three four beers out or are you
having ten? Like there are just a lot of extremes
and a lot of great area in between being able
to manage your alcohol and being an alcohol like and
a lot of it also drives is driven by your emotions,
like are are you having fun? Are you trying to
mask something? Are you trying to use it to cover
(56:30):
things up or not deal with other things like yeah,
it's so nuanced, so interesting.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
Okay, so I happened on this episode.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
Okay, so that conversation happened. And then the real big thing,
which is where the episode ended, is more shit with JT.
First up, they're putting on the end probably this is
the finale like ball thing, so they're kind of planning
that Madison and uh, who's that gig guy we never
hear from Rodrigo. No, he's like the staple, who's the
(56:59):
dry in Sure? Him and Madison are co hosting the
like finale party, I guess. And Madison called Vanita and said, hey,
we're doing this, and Vinita was like, Hey, if if
JT's not going to be invited, I'm gonna bring him
as my plus one and Mason was like, no, we're
going to invite him. It's going to be fine. Also,
(57:20):
in relation to the JT Vanita relationship. Vanita came online.
Speaker 1 (57:25):
Wait the relationship. That's not a relationship that we told
the relationship, but it's.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
Like very gray area. But Vanita posted a story recently
saying like things were edited out of order, which you're
not really supposed to do. I know, like you're not
supposed to say, hey, this happened before or after something,
because they have full liberty to edit it. That's like
part of your contract. But I agree with her on this.
The conversation where Vanita and JT talked about his girlfriend
(57:52):
happened after their Bahamas trip. Oh so it looks like
she knew he had a girlfriend and then like went
to his room and like wanted to hook up with
him or like flirt with him. But she says she
did not know. So I don't know when that conversation
about his girlfriend happens. But at this point, Bevanita is
asking JT to be her date, and I don't know
(58:12):
if she knows he has a girlfriend or not.
Speaker 1 (58:17):
Oh so, on her mind, she basically went this whole
season flirting with JT. And then at the end she's saying,
like kind of found out he had a girlfriend. Yeah,
that would make so much more sense, because do you
know how weird it was that they had that conversation
and then the next episode, Vanita's like, JT's my best friend.
I love hanging out with them, and I'd be like, girl,
(58:38):
he just denied you. What are we doing?
Speaker 2 (58:40):
I know? I did also listen to Vanita's small segment
on our enemy Nick Byol's podcast, and she talks about
that after this season ends, they also kept talking like
she didn't she knew he was seeing this girl, but
not that they were like exclusive or girlfriend boyfriend or
x y Z like Vanita. It seemed like he was
(59:01):
kind of dating around. He was dating Vanita, he was
dating this girl whatever. It was like more casual than
it was. So in the episode, Venita like ask him
if he wants to go to this event. Later we
see that he is on the fence. He doesn't really
want to hang out with this people, which kind of
makes sense, kind of doesn't like this is the show
you need to show up. But the big bomb is
(59:24):
that I guess JT went to the barber, got his haircut,
told the barber about kind of what was going on
with the show, like the barber asked, and then Ryan
goes to the same barber, maybe not the same person,
but the same shop, and it got telephoned to him
that JT said like, oh, this black girl won't leave
(59:44):
me alone. And Ryan told I think he went straight
to Vanita and told her and she was so upset.
So Vanita calls Leva. Leva sits down with JT to
talk about it, and he is like, I did not
say that, and I kind of agree that's not his
style of talking. But JT is so upset, calls the barber.
(01:00:06):
It gets cleared up. It seems like it was just
the telephone game. Like the barber doesn't know Vanita, so
he was just saying, like, oh, this black girl that
he was talking about, just like describing it. But that's
not how JT was telling it. But it's just somebody
retelling the story in the incorrect way. But JT's pissed
at Ryan, which I'm like, it's also not Ryan's fault
because he got it told to him that way, yes,
(01:00:30):
but as Ryan like he should have gone to JT. Yeah,
or asked the BARBERO and like did he say that,
like you know, like did he say this.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Black girl's talking to me, they won't leave me alone,
or did he say like this girl and then.
Speaker 4 (01:00:45):
People were like, let's say a icture, like who is it?
And he was like, oh this girl and like maybe
showed a picture or describing her was like she's this
black woman that whose names Benita that I'm friends with.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Like you know, like the contact matters, and the time
was ryan.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
I would have been like did he say that before
I went like I gotta go.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
They are they are very I don't like JT, but
they are so anti JT that anything anybody says people
are like fuck him.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Oh goody, I can't wait for the reunion to come,
and then finally be like, so JT never called Patricia bitch?
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Oh my god, I do feel justice for him on
that one.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
Clear this up so quick. Craig is so He's like, no, no, no,
Shep you heard it. Even Shep is like I don't
remember those words. And then fucking Leva's like I don't
think he'd call anyone a bitch, and Taylor is like
that sound like that, And the fact that JT is like,
I am so conscious about it because like my mom
used to punish me for calling women bitches, that I
(01:01:49):
never do it again. You remember shit like that, and
Craig is the only one that's like, I'm dying on
this hill in Austin. He's like, oh, you see it
happening too, And I'm like, these are the men. These
it's like believing Ja's Taylor without any proof.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
I mean, well, I guess people did believe him for years.
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
True, So like, what are we doing here? And then this,
I think with the state of the world that we're
in right now, you got to clear this up before
you like make it a really big thing.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
In the episode, they were going like by the minute
they were like thirty minutes later, after Vanita called Leva, like,
Leva sits down with JT. Ten minutes later, JT calls
like Vanita, like, it happened very quick.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Good, I'm glad it's getting cleared up, Like.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Yeah, it's it definitely was a big part of the episode.
But it's not like it's happening over days, which I
think is really good for.
Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
You and I'm glad it wasn't like brought up in
a group sit like we all sat down for you,
and it was like JT said this, I agree, Holy shit.
So did they clear it up.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
At the end of the episode, JT is talking to
Vanita and it's like, I would never do that. I
want to clear the air with you, Like I called
the barber. He's he confirmed with Leva that I did
not say that, and the barber was like, hey, I
might have told the story saying it okay, saying those words,
but I didn't mean it like that either. That's like,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Crazy, Yeah, is y? Ryan has no leg to stand on.
What are you doing, dude?
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
I know, but was like, I don't think Ryan would
lie about this, like Ryan's husband is black, Like I
don't think he would make this up out of thin air.
And I agree, like I don't think.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
It was told to Ryan that way. But then if
I'm Ryan, I'd be like to the barber, I'd be like,
that's what he said, Like I feel like I wouldn't
be able to hold it in and be like, oh,
I'll just take this and go vent to Venita about it.
Like no, I would be like what JJ said that,
Like I wouldn't Oh wow, okay, yeah, holy shit.
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
I knows an episode. It sounds like it was wild.
I think we're very close to finale. I know they
already filmed the union, so they didn't say like maybe
I missed it though, like next time on the like
finale or anything. So I wonder if we have two
more episodes. But things are rocky with JT obviously during
the season. I'm just shocked he waited so long to quit. Yeah,
(01:04:07):
oh he quit, well, he like quit quote unquote in November,
whenever the trailer came out, he posts a story that
said he's done with the show. He was not going
to do any more interviews. He was under contract though,
so we had to come back and do the interviews,
and he sits for the reunion.
Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
I understand him being done though, like do I think
JT is like good? No, but he had It's his
character is always in question. That's he was really upset,
and I guess it. It's not even just like he's
starting drama or like he's out here cheating like the
way Austin does, or he's out here dumping fiances or
(01:04:44):
whatever like SHEP. And he's not out here lying like Craig,
Like he genuinely is existing and everyone is just like
pushing at his character. And I know he's not likable,
but it's not even just like you suck. It's like
you're calling an older woman that you should respect a bitch,
and now you're using like derogatory language to describe a
woman of color.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Like it's no, I've welled up this season for sure
because it used to be this like kind of like
big Brother, I'll call it exactly what Craig used to get.
It's Shep, Craig and Austin just ragging on him for
little things like this whole like need to have the truth.
That is normal reality TV push and pull.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
This season, though, Yeah, I don't know. I know I'm
with JT on that one.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
I want him to just leave. I don't like him
on my on my TV, but I don't hate him
like like they're.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
I don't hate him enough for his character to be
shredded like.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
No, and I think it'll continue to go this way.
I think you do. I think unfortunately he is an
easy target for those three guys.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
And these boys suck. These boys suck, they do. They
don't care that they're tearing down JT's character. They don't,
they don't, Whereas Shep is really the one that's like,
I think the issue because he dates a woman of
color and he's like, wow, I've never seen someone exotic looking,
and I'm like, sir, sir, you yea one thing.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
I will give Shep and Austin a little bit. Shep
more so does this. He won't make stuff up like
Crazy does. Austin will take Craig's words of truth though,
and then Craig just makes shit up.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Surprisingly, I've liked Shep this season. I do. I did
cringe every time he would talk about Sienna because it
just felt like a white man who has never seen
a person of color before.
Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
Well, it is annoying.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
The way he's interacting with her just on like it's crazy.
But it's like him going from cheating on Taylor to
now being like such a simp and like it's so weird.
Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
My favorite is when he's like, why would Sienna want
to give up on something that you know is so
good with no issues? And I'm like, I'm sorry, didn't
you dumb Taylor for literally zero reason? Yes? Like what
are we doing?
Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
This is like when you meet a guy at a
bar and he's like, oh my god, we have such
a connection and you're like, we don't. I don't know you.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
All I know about you is you bought me a
vodka soda and you're from Minnesota, so like, what are
we what's happening the sodas? So you got me?
Speaker 2 (01:07:13):
Then sodas?
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
No? Yeah, or Shep has been enjoyable, but like that's
what I'm talking about, right, Like Shep is problematic for
different reasons. But and like even though his character is
sometimes in question, I think it's never to the point
of like everyone is ripping his Like JT has gotten
this irredeemable edit of like, yeah, he's a bad guy,
(01:07:36):
and it's like, I don't fucking think so. I think
you guys just are like, really, you're really mean to
the little guy, you know, not the little guy. He's
mean to the little guy. He's just a little guy.
Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
I'm also kind of annoyed with the rest of the
cast being kind of more silent than I think they
should be, Like they're like whispering that, like, oh, I
don't think he would say that. Why aren't we standing
up to Craig.
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
I enjoyed at the dinner in the Bahamas. I feel
like more people were a little more, Like even Madison
was like I don't think so. But it's always this
it's this unsure like honestly, someone should just look at
Craig and be like, I guess we'll see at the reunion,
won't we, Because then it's like, why are we gonna
keep arguing about this. It's not going anywhere. You're not
(01:08:24):
gonna back down. Kat's not backing down. We'll have the tape.
Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
I would be like, we need to roll the tapes, allays, Hey, Bravo, Bravo,
fucking Bravo.
Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
There's tapes. We'll know, we'll know, it'll be shown and
either you will be vindicated or you will be a liar,
So stop bringing it up, you know, like at this
at this point, I'd be like, do I believe it?
I don't know, But like I don't even have to
sit here and guess, because we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
Have tape and we don't have a tape.
Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
What are we doing? I don't know. I would pull
a Denise Richards and call out the camera and be like,
it doesn't really matter, Craig, we don't have to take
your word because there's proof.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
They a little bit this episode because when they called
the barber, he was like, Yeah, I was asking about
the show, and you were telling me this about the
show and what's going on with the show. And so
they were like talking about that a little bit, and so, yeah,
I do feel bad for JT because.
Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
Catch catch me on an episode of Southern Charm arguing
with Craig and having to go, I don't even have
to spend my time arguing with you because there's tapes.
Why do I have to take your word on anything?
I'm gonna be shown you have to convince me. I'll
be convinced that the reunion.
Speaker 2 (01:09:35):
And what's diabolical is Craig on Watch What Happens Live
earlier in the season said he never lied. He has
never lied on camra.
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
This and this is why I would sit around and go,
I don't know how Page is dating him, Like he
gives me such a weird ick when he lies and
then is like, I don't lie, And then there's a
montage of him lying and he still fucking doubles down,
and I'm sitting there like, how it I have dated
this man? I go crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
I know we also are seeing like there was a
scene between Page and Craig where you can just continue
to tell they are not on the same page. And
it is filmed after Summerhouse, right before before this Southern
CHURNA was filmed in the spring and Summerhouse obviously in
the summer, but even like Austin is like, I don't
(01:10:23):
understand how these two work.
Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
Dude. If Austin sees cracks, that's when you know your relationships. Fuck,
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
And then in the after show, I haven't I didn't
watch there after show the Southern chrom One, but I
saw a clip of this online that Austin said he
watched the trailer for Summerhouse and everything that Craig set
to Page in this last episode, like oh, you're working
too much, Like you're gonna have to slow down is
exactly what Austin has been saying to Craig, Like you,
(01:10:52):
your whole world is work. Why can't you focus on
like us as a friend duo, like be outside of work.
And so Austin was based validating Page essentially, Oh my god,
what a meta experience I'm having right now.
Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
Wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
That it's like, Wow, you want her to slow down
and she's the problem, but you don't want to down.
Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
Yeah, Austin defender of women.
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
No never, I mean he didn't defend her, but he
kind of helped make a point for her.
Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
We know who side he's on in the breakup, which
is fine. Page doesn't want him anyway, truly does yuck.
I also to the audience's interests. I have finished the
Vampire Diaries and I did it. It only took me
about a year. I made it through. I listen. It
(01:11:48):
was fine. I guess. I don't know. When you introduce
me to too many rules and too many characters that
don't stick around, I can only care so much. And
then also your main characters mostly suck, so like, if
not Caroline or Caroline Carolina, Caroline, Caroline Forbes. Yeah, yeah,
(01:12:11):
if not Caroline, I don't give a shit. Honestly, the ending,
I get it crazy though.
Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Wait, I'll watch it. I'll watch it and then we
can talk about it. How about next episode, I'll have
it done.
Speaker 1 (01:12:24):
Okay, I do think guys y'all missed it. Meredith spoiled
the biggest Caroline spoiler, and I'm I was like, I
want to spoil the end for you. I'm not going to.
It's not like anything.
Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
Well, honestly, the biggest loss is that we had just
finished recording our podcast episode and so it wasn't even
caught on when they.
Speaker 1 (01:12:47):
Never appointed like I had a meltdown. I had a
full meltdown. It's for spoiler for those It was when
Caroline and Alaric got married. She was like, well they
get married, and I was like what, because where.
Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
I was at was I said engaged? I think I
said either pregnant or engaged.
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
Again, it didn't really matter. They get together, and I
was like, she is still with Stephan in my timeline.
So I was freaking out because I finally got what
I wanted and I was like, I'm not even gonna get.
Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
A food, which I had asked you where you were,
but I messed impunication the numbers on season, so I
thought you were in the same season I was. So
I was like, hey, are you at the because it
is from like the beginning of that season. You know
that there's something going on with the Lark in Carolina.
So I tried to give you, like not a spoiler,
but like, hey are you what are your thoughts on this?
(01:13:39):
And I fucked up.
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
This goes to my new theory that I think teen
dramas shouldn't go over six seasons. I think six seasons
is the cutoff. Your final season should be your sixth season,
and then you have a good show. Think of all
the teen dramas, when did they go downhill after six seasons?
Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
Yeah, I think that has to be the ceiling. But
I think you need a minimum. I think if you
plan it out from the get go, it can only
be four though, like you.
Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
Know where you're going with it. Yeah, No, I think
you could do like uh uh the Summer I turn
pretty will only be three.
Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
But what I'm saying is, if you plan it out,
I don't think you can do six. I think six
is too much when you like really fit a lot
of thought into it, because I think sometimes these shows
just go on like rain a path.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
That's when you're like, oh, it really caught on fire.
We have to write random storylines that no one cares about.
Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Yeah, like they do put side quests into six seasons
that you're really thoughtful about it. You don't need six,
like One Tree Hill was.
Speaker 1 (01:14:44):
I mean, I just know a lot about the history
of One Tree Hill because I found the show kind
of fascinating. They filmed like the pilot and they didn't
think it was gonna be taken or bought or anything
really yeah, and then it was and they went from
having like only ten episodes to like like they kept adding,
so they had to keep like writing these random storylines.
That's why Haley and Nathan get married at the end,
(01:15:07):
which was wild because we were like, it's so hot
because they didn't know. They were like we just it
started with just two brothers and ended with like a
teen marriage, which was like not in character for either,
and then like Nathan's emancipated and they just had to
write these like storylines and then they got crazy with
it and it worked for the show kind of.
Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
But also, but yeah, you're right. Season one didn't have
like an arc because they didn't know where they were going.
Speaker 1 (01:15:35):
Yeah, that's why it took like Hailey a little bit
to like fall with Nathan, and I think like the
tutoring was planned and they were like what if these
two fell in love? And like, okay, I don't think
initially they planned on bringing Brooke in because she wasn't
in the pilot.
Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
Yeah, she wasn't supposed to be a main character.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
We had to add her in and like, okay her
or her and Lucas and then like what if we
have Lucas cheatah on Brook with Peyton and all that
all this weird shit. But I remember watching season one
and thinking it's really out of character for Haley to
get married to a man she doesn't really know.
Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
Yeah, and that actually describes Karen's absence because she was pregnant,
which is why they kind of put her off that
if they were going to do a small set, she
would have been able to do the whole ten episodes
for a season and her pregnancy wouldn't have been as
big of a deal. But when you extend it, they had.
Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
To send her off to France or Italy to cook
for a cooking class.
Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
That was the dumbest. That was the dumbest.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
I think you need to plan it a little better, obviously,
but six is the max you can go.
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
I just love that Mindy Kayleig did him did a
and never have I ever. She was very thoughtful. She
knew was going to be four seasons scoring and that
was in a high school period. It's all for Yeah, well, wi,
we leave high school?
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
What are we doing in a teen drama?
Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
Agreed? I think that's where it to crumble.
Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
Like I understand, like I think the OC they go
to college for one year. But I liked the OC.
I didn't think the OC ever got like crazy Gossip Girl.
They never went to school, just roam New York City.
That's fine, and then we leave One Tree Hill High
School and then we come back as adults, which is fine.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
I but heard that then like trying to fumble.
Speaker 1 (01:17:23):
Through to college. Yeah, college was rough, but even as adults,
it's like some of their problems. I was like, that
would never happen, Like that's so crazy because.
Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
I never thought about it. They were then playing their
actual ages, so you could just tell how young they were.
Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
Yeah, it didn't work because I think in high school
these dramatic and crazy things happen. But I like to
refer back to Degrassi. I never thought anything was like
out of realm in that show, Like is Degrassi the
most dangerous and crazy school to go to? Absolutely? But
it was always It was just because in one school
all the teenagers needed to have different problems, but they
(01:18:02):
were teen problems, Like, yes, we had eating disorders, we
had self harm, we had a school shooting, we had
the fighting, sex, having sex, we had sexual assault. We
had like a pregnant we had multiple pregnancies and some
got abortion, some did adoption, some kept the baby right
Like it was dramatic, but it was never like my
(01:18:26):
secret cover, my secret brother came back and tried to
kill me in a basement like that was never well,
that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
To Degrassi's credit is they phased people out well, like
they kept it in the same area and just kept
getting new cast members.
Speaker 1 (01:18:40):
It was kept in like the Grassy School as almost
a character, yes, whereas one Tree Hill, My God, when
we switched homes and like Nathan and Haley moved and
I was like, what are we doing? Who is this kid?
What is he doing here?
Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
What kept I know?
Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
But like Gossip Girl worked right because they never really
got that old. It was always just they were delinquents
in the city.
Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
If they were, yeah, twenty just grassy the school was
is what the city of New York was.
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
Yeah, And they were all like they weren't twenty seven,
causing may like they were still like twenty two being dumb.
I'm trying to think of other ones. The OC, like
I said, I only think did one year of college
and then ended it, which I think that ends in
a wedding. But like Vampire Diaries, we never went to
school in high school, and if we did, someone died,
(01:19:31):
which made it more complicated.
Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
That's what it is, is like these dramatic storylines. People
are constantly dying that it's like do you even have
a town anymore?
Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
And then they're like, we'll go to college, and I
was like, no, we won't get me out of college.
It fumbled so bad.
Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
I think the only time college has worked. I know
you haven't watched the show is Gilmore Girls, because they
moved half of the show there and built a whole
new world. And so because it was based on just
a mom and a daughter, like you were able to
go to college with the daughter and meet a whole
new set of characters.
Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
Okay, that makes sense. And also I haven't watched it,
but I know Rory is big annoying about going to Yale.
Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
That's she wanted to go to Harvard.
Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
Harvard.
Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
Yeah, she didn't go because Harvard wouldn't let them film
on the campus.
Speaker 1 (01:20:26):
Jesus, when that's like your big thing, Like Gossip Girl,
a big thing was them getting into college. So like fine,
like same thing, Dawson's Creek. They did like the four
years of high school, which were so good. That was
really good, and then they only did six seasons. But
then the other one was like college and then the
(01:20:48):
other one was like half college half adults, Like they
did a time jump and you were like, what is
good show? Though that was they ended it at six.
I couldn't if there was another season after that, I.
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
Would have you would have watched, but it would have
ruined it a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:21:04):
Even Secret Life for the American Teenager only had five
seasons dramas.
Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
I do love rewatching Secret Life of the American Teenager
because I've finally watched it. So funny because.
Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
I've never finished it.
Speaker 2 (01:21:18):
Amy and Ricky going to live above the butcher Shop.
Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
Is just so ergonic. I never even got there.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
Did you watch the end?
Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
No? I watched one season and this is.
Speaker 2 (01:21:28):
How it ends.
Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
As soon as Ben started trying to get Adrian and pregnant,
that was weird. Oh my god, they get married, he
wanted a baby. Sean Johnson showed up for an episode
and I was like, this is crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
This is how it ends. So Amy and Ricky are
finally together and they're engaged.
Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
And Ricky is trying his hardest. It's such a struggle
to stay committed to her, but he's doing it. Is
like the storyline that they have going, oh, he just
wants to cheat on her, Yes, but he doesn't cheat
on her. He's like daying committed to her. We turned
out to be a semi okay guy. So they're living
with their son in this apartment above the butcher shop
(01:22:09):
and in New York or no, no, in their hometown. And
Ricky is in college too, so he's working at the
butcher shop and going to college and their like town
or whatever, and with their baby and the yep, they're
managing the baby too, and Amy like plays in band
or whatever, because that's how they met. And she goes
(01:22:30):
to this camp the summer before senior year in New York.
Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
Is she she's still in high school.
Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
She's still in high school. The summer for senior year,
she goes to this camp in New York and leaves
the baby and Ricky behind. Okay, that's actually when she
like at the end of the summer, Ricky brings the
baby to meet her, and that's when they start their
like real relationship actually, So then like she did this
New York thing, they get in their relationship. They're living together,
(01:22:58):
they're engaged, their planning a wedding, and Amy's like, I
don't want to do this anymore by the end of
senior year, like, I don't want to be married, I
want to live in New York. I want to be
a young, dumb girl.
Speaker 1 (01:23:10):
Oh baby though.
Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
So she goes to New York and leaves her baby
with Ricky in their town.
Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
So she's a deadbie mom at the end of it.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
I mean, like kind of.
Speaker 1 (01:23:24):
Girl. You can't just leave you got Oh my god,
I'm so happy I never finished this shit.
Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
It's actually kind of sad because you feel bad for
Ricky because he's like, I like became everything I should have,
Like I turned my life around. I've been here for you.
I love you. We built this life and now you're leaving.
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
Do you think the writers meant for it to be
like a really empowering woman scene and it just turned
out like she's a deadbie mom. I don't know, she
just chooses herself over her kid.
Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
It's like, oh, hey, just because you had a teen
pregnancy doesn't mean you can't be that young fun college
you're in an end.
Speaker 1 (01:23:59):
I remember watching this like eighth grade is because when
did it come out? In two thousand and eight, So yeah,
I was like an eighth grade ish and I remember
watching the first season and being like, this is terrible.
And then years later, like I had gone to college
and never finished the show, and I come back one
day and my mom and my sister are watching this
show my god, and I'm like, why are you fucking
(01:24:21):
watching this? Well? First I was like, Mom, why are
you showing this to my little sister? And my mom
was like, it's really good because it's like a good
show that we can then talk about like issues together.
And I was like, this cannot be your base show.
And then my mom's like, but also I just need
to know what happens, and I was like, no, the
drama's one thing. Stop watching it with your dad. They
(01:24:43):
would watch it together, no, And my mom would be like,
see I would. I wouldn't be like Molly Ringwald. I
would support you in your pregnancy if that's what you decided.
And my dad hated it because he was like, no,
you would get an abortion, and I'd be like, there's
no choice in this. I so you're getting pulled from
two directions.
Speaker 2 (01:25:02):
In my house, I can't imagine watching this with my parents.
Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
Absolutely not, because it's so bad and everyone wanted to
get pregnant. My mom would be like, remember, pregnancy is
not romantic.
Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
Yeah, it might be like okay, you know what, we
were really into teen pregnancies and talking about it in
a good way. It did help bring down the teen pregnancy, right,
but it was everywhere it was teen Mom. We had
multiple versions of that. We had Teenager or whatever Seyer
like the American Teenager. There was a Lifetime movie called
The Pregnancy.
Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
All I thought was what a nightmare for all my
friends to be pregnant at the same time in one
small fucking town. That was an awesomely terrible Lifetime movie.
Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
Yeah, because well that was a real story too, I know,
which is even terrifire.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
I will say though about teen Mom. I people really
shit on MTV and teen Mom because it was like
your romanticizing team pregnancy. This will cause teenagers to want
to be pregnant. I have to tell you, I watched
that show religiously. It had the exact opposite effect.
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
On me, therect effect on me.
Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Yeah. My friend and I fully were like we'll never
have sex, like we were like we're entering the Nunnery.
My friend too, like me, I was just single pringle
all the time. But my friend had a boyfriend from
eighth grade. They dated throughout high school and she told him,
she goes, I will not have sex with you until
I'm eighteen and we can both legally, like we can
(01:26:39):
sign off on me having an abortion because she's like,
I'm not being sad. So literally, like five years they
did not have sex because she was like, I won't
be one of those. And she would always be like,
it's from watching Teen Mom, and I'll never let you
want I'm have sex.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
So I was eighteen either, because I was like, I
was so scared of an abortion to get pregnant and
have to be in that situation. I think Teen Mom
did it best because it was not glamorous, it was terrifying,
and because you always saw the couple's not work out,
so that idea of like, oh if I have a baby,
(01:27:18):
like we'll be together forever. No, you not only have
your child, but then you have this disastrous co parenting
relationship with somebody who you hate.
Speaker 1 (01:27:26):
Yeah, you don't finish school, you can't get a job,
You're up all night taking care of this kid. Half
of those teenagers got kicked out of their own homes.
Kaylin was homeless for a little bit, sleeping in her car.
Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
Like when you want to go do something fun, which
they rightfully should have, you get shamed for it.
Speaker 1 (01:27:44):
It was It was the craziest show to think that
that was romanticizing it at all. Like, I kid you not.
I had the conversation at eighteen with my high school
boyfriend and went, you have to you have to agree
that if something happens, we both agree to an aboard
before I have sex with you. I'm not having a baby,
so like you have to agree or else I won't
(01:28:06):
have sex with you. And he was like okay, because
like what eighteen year old has that conversation. I know,
besides me and my friend who watched.
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
Mind No, I love that I was terrified to get pregnant.
Speaker 1 (01:28:16):
I did.
Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
I wasn't in a relationship, so I was not having
that conversation with somebody else. But yeah, that was wild.
Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
No I and then even make it worse now I
think on Max there's this or maybe TLC and TLC
if that sucks. But there's a show like A but
almost does romanticize teen pregnancy.
Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
I know what you're talking about because I've seen I've
seen the reunion that they had where there's that one
couple where the guy was such an unexpected expected. The
guy was such a dick to her when she was
having the baby and wouldn't let her have pain meds.
Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
Yes, unexpected. They kind of do romanticize a little more.
And I think they know that if this show takes off,
they're gonna make money off of it. When Teen Mom
premiered on MTV, they didn't see money for like three
or four seasons. It became obvious when they saw money,
and we saw addiction, we saw cheating, like being a
(01:29:16):
I can think of nothing worse than being a team parent.
Like I can't from that show and it's still going on,
and you still see the horrors that like follows you
from teen like having a child with someone you were
a teenager.
Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
Yes, I keep seeing because I don't watch it live,
but I keep seeing the Amber Gary stuff. I always
see their stuff, and like Leah just wants Christina to
adopt her. Yeah Leah or Amber has not seen Leah
in like a year, And I'm just like, oh my god,
Like you were forever connected to these people.
Speaker 1 (01:29:46):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
You think when your child turns eighteen, you're now like, yeah,
you're not bound by as many things, but you're still
in that person's life until you or your child passes
and hopefully yeah that's.
Speaker 1 (01:29:57):
The latter is like Okay, not only do you have
to think like, oh, I'm gonna have a baby with
this person, It's like, no, I'm living the next eighteen
to plus years of my life with dealing with this person.
So like me, be mindful of who you choose have
sex with. It's like all I'm saying is a teenager.
Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
Even present day, that's not even just a team thing.
Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
Yeah, because like also, look at what Macy had to
deal with with Bentley and Ryan, like that was terrifying.
Caitlin and Tyler. Even if you give your baby up
for adoption, there's still so many things that happened years
after with that. And then who was the other original
Pharah who knows where she fucking ended up. She was
a terrible person, but like you see it, even Cheyenne
(01:30:44):
and Corey who didn't have a baby as teenagers but
didn't end up together, so much crazy shit.
Speaker 2 (01:30:49):
I yeah, it takes so much work.
Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
I love to you. I'm gonna show if I ever
have nieces and nephews, I'm gonna be like, sit down
and watch this retro show. It will make you never
want of sex again.
Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
Guys and girls like you got to see it?
Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
No, everybody guess who celebate you for the rest of
your life. I look at my sister and I'm just like,
your kids will never You'll never have to buy your
kids condoms because this is what they're gonna think about them.
And we used to have my friend who had the boyfriend.
He would come over when we would watch teen Mom
because we'd watch it at one of our houses. And
(01:31:23):
I was friends with him too, so he watched us
watching this, so he knew why she would have said it,
and he was but he was cool. He was like
okay with it because he also watched the show, so
he kind of got it. Yeah, he was like, I
also raise this, Yeah, because she like would look at
him and be like, if you ever fucking left me
with our child the way Ryan leaves Macy, I would
(01:31:45):
fucking kill you. Oh, And he's like, I get it.
Speaker 2 (01:31:49):
I'm just happy that we're in the timeline where like Ryan.
Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
We oh, thank God, no truly, thank goodness, and we
all are like one family again in that household that
I do catch a lot of them. I wish I
was young enough to do Jade's story because that seems
like an interesting one.
Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
Oh, hers is good. I didn't watch her like sixteen
and Pregnant, but I watched her when she joined two.
I watched that because she I think was on Teen
Mom three, which that I never watched watch. I definitely
caught an episode maybe or two, so I knew who
she was coming into Teen Mom two. But then she
joined that, and then they merged all of them together,
which I don't really like that with all of them.
Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
I do in the sense that like if they live
close to each other, then they can like hang out
or something. It does seem kind of forced occasionally, but
it is just a lot of storylines to keep up with. Now.
Speaker 2 (01:32:41):
Yeah, you're not getting every person every week, which I
guess is probably for the benefit of MTV, because how
much can you really talk about these people's lives after
this long?
Speaker 1 (01:32:50):
Yeah, and after a while it's like the same we
see the same things, and the problem is it's like
not growing. I will say though, the part that made
me tear up was when Leah, Gary, and and Christina
we're talking about the adoption and Leah really wants to
be adopted, and Gary is kind of like, I don't
know what's really going to piss off Amber, and Christina
says like, I'm fine with whatever, but my main concern
(01:33:11):
is what if something happens to Gary and then like
what happens to Leah? And I was like, holy shit.
Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
Because when you think about like court, two years, is
it's worth not going to court because it is just
two years until she's eighteen? But in life sense, a
lot could happen in two years.
Speaker 1 (01:33:31):
Yeah, so it's like, let's just do it. And like,
I also loved watching Jade talk about Amber because I
do think Caitlin and Macy a lot of the times
and MTV almost like glazed over what was really happening
with Amber. I gave her the benefit of the doubt
when she shouldn't have gotten it, where Jade was like, no,
I've been Leah and for my mom to choose a
(01:33:54):
guy or anything else over me is unacceptable, like Leah
does or yeah, Leah doesn't deserve that, and Amber doesn't
deserve to have a daughter like Leah, Like yeah, because
we see how fucked up the relationship between Jade and
her mom is, and it's like there's no saving that
at this point and Jade's done, she is done with
her mom and oh she is now well. I think
(01:34:15):
she's trying to help her mom still, but when her
mom doesn't answer, Jade's like a treat you like a child.
Speaker 2 (01:34:20):
I can't. Emotionally, she's she was parentified, like she she
had to like figure things out for her parents and
constantly manage, especially the emotional relationship of between her and
her mom. And it is really sad to see that.
I understand Macy and Caitlyn when they were younger being
on Kaitlyn's side so much because you don't know what
(01:34:41):
you don't know. But the conversations have come a long
way and we understand things a lot more and we
can see that Amber is not involved in any of
her kid's life, so like, get with it.
Speaker 1 (01:34:53):
It's surprising too from Caitlyn who had a mom who
picked a man over her multiple times on camera, and
it's still like, but Amber is working on herself, and
it's like that's great, but like Leah shouldn't have to
deal with the repercussions of that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:08):
I think everybody is scared. I'm gonna say not really
like Amber, Yeah, of her reactions like they don't They
don't want to like make her spiral or have her
yell at them, So everybody just treats her with kid
gloves and doesn't want to like address it head on
and just say, hey, here are our boundaries.
Speaker 1 (01:35:26):
We're not Yeah, you're doing her a disservice.
Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
I agree. Great.
Speaker 1 (01:35:33):
Are you listening to anything besides Nick Vaiel's stupid podcast?
Just kidding. We're not in a listening do it.
Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
No, I haven't listened to anything recently.
Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
I have been listening to Bad Bunny. I cannot talk
enough about his new album It Is You talked.
Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
About it a few weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
Still on it, Oh my god, it's so good. Welth.
I've been listening to a lot of Gracie Abrams, Oh
I have.
Speaker 2 (01:35:56):
I've been going on some walks because like the weather's
getting warm. Yeah, we're coming out of our depression hibernation,
Like whoa, the world is fun.
Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
And so I watched all three Shrek movies at work recently.
Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
That is not what I thought you were gonna say.
Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
Yeah, go follow me on this. When I'm at work,
I need to watch something that I already either know
I'm not going to care that much about, like reality
TV or I've already watched that. I can kind of
zone out. I have already seen the three Shrek movies
a ton of times, so I'm like, I it's on peacock.
I'm just going to watch all three. The scores of
(01:36:34):
those movies.
Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
They are great.
Speaker 1 (01:36:35):
I've been listening to all three Shrek soundtracks on my wife.
I'm not kidding. I know you're not. I know you're
not talking to change it. Time to make the change
to changes.
Speaker 2 (01:36:49):
Question for you? Have you seen that Shrek four is
going to come out and they change the animation animation soil? No, no,
look look up right now. I'll sure look up what
he's gonna look like.
Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
Forever and ever?
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
I don't know what it's called.
Speaker 1 (01:37:12):
Okay, it's not him, it's Fiona. I'm really concerned about. Yes,
the final chapter, Why does you donkey looks crazy? No? Wait,
I gotta compare it. Let me look up.
Speaker 2 (01:37:31):
Wait no, no, never mind, it's Shrek five. Sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
I was gonna say, Fiona just has crazy hair. Shrek five?
Is there a Shrek four already out?
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
This is like, no, no, no, what's Shrek five?
Speaker 4 (01:37:47):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
It hasn't come out yet. And people said that there
was another. I think Sonic they changed the animation style
for like the one of the movies that came out,
and when they sent the trailer out, people revolted and
they read the whole movie. So people are trying to
make the online chatter huge to get it changed.
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
No, literally, I just clicked down the first thing. The
new Shrek five character design proves DreamWorks has lost its edge.
Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:38:15):
I was gonna say, Shrek four isn't too bad. Fiona's
hair is just weird. I keep on the same. I
know that sounds crazy, but like your animated characters don't
have to change their hairstyle or the close.
Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
Well, it is not the time to switch mid series.
Use that that animation style isn't new like other movies
have been done with it. And it's not about animation style,
it's that you're changing your characters.
Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
Yeah, Shrek two was truly like use that animation style.
That was perfection. Can I ask you a question, what's
your favorite Trek movie? Do you have one?
Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
I really have? I think only seen one and two.
Speaker 1 (01:38:53):
Okay, you haven't seen Shrek three? Was Shrek three D?
I think I have to say I think I prefer
for Shrek two. I think that's just like a really
fine because Shrek one is obviously when he saves Fiona
and then they like fall in love and yeah, he's
also an ogre, but Shrek what struck Shrek two? They
go to visit her parents in far far away, and
(01:39:16):
then the Fairy Godmother is like, Fiona was supposed to
marry Charm, Prince Charming, and then like Shrek and Fiona
drink this magic spell that makes them handsome. I'm like beautiful,
and the Prince Charming shows up and he's like I'm Shrek,
and Fiona's like okay, but Shrek is like no, no, no,
(01:39:38):
it's me and it's great, and then put some boots
shows up. You've never seen Shrek two?
Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
I guess I have, but I don't really remember this.
Speaker 1 (01:39:48):
Okay, you gotta watch all the Shrek movie. I didn't
know there was a Shrek four. I'm like drunk now,
I didn't know there was a Shrek four. Shrek two though,
because Shrek three then is like weird. They're trying to
find a different error to the throne because the dad died.
Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Definitely, I've never seen that.
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
Okay, you your homework assignment is to watch the three
Shrek move the trilogy because there should be no Shrek
for the trilogy of Shrek one, two, and three, and
it's the second one's fun because they have a musical
number by the Fairy Godmother where she goes, I need
a hero.
Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
I've seen that that trick too. Okay, I think I've
seen Shrek two.
Speaker 1 (01:40:27):
I just we're like the giant gingerbread falls into the water. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
I just don't remember them doing like a potion thing.
I bits around them. I don't really remember them. Yea.
Speaker 1 (01:40:41):
Yeah, because Shrek goes to me everyone is an ogre,
like Fiona's family, and they're like, oh no, he's ugly.
And then he's like, oh, maybe I should change myself.
So he drinks a potion that turns him human and
turns Fiona human, and Fiona wakes up and she's like
what the fuck? And then Charming's like, hey, it's me Shrek,
and she's like okay. Then that's when Shrek is like, no, no, no,
(01:41:02):
I'm here. It's me and Donkey becomes a stallion.
Speaker 2 (01:41:07):
Didn't remember that?
Speaker 1 (01:41:08):
Oh he becomes a beautiful horse.
Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Okaytch my gotch it? What are we streaming this on?
For the people.
Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
Peacock.
Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
Okay, I'm all three.
Speaker 1 (01:41:18):
I actually don't know if Shrek Ford exists on Peacock,
but Peacock does.
Speaker 2 (01:41:22):
All three, we don't remember.
Speaker 1 (01:41:25):
Well, is it good? Did it get good? I can't imagine.
Never watched it. Well, I think it was past my
time because Shrek the Third came out in two thousand
and seven, and I don't know when Shrek Shrek four oh,
(01:41:47):
twenty ten, two thousand and seven. I was in seventh
eighth grade. Twenty ten, I was in high school.
Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
Soybe we weren't We were busy trying to not get pregnant.
Speaker 1 (01:41:57):
I yeah, I wasn't watching cartoon anymore. And then me
as a thirty year old, I'm like, everyone watched Shrek again.
It's actually I was giggling at my desk. It was
actually so funny, Like even my friend next to me
was like, what are you laughing at? I was like,
Shrek's honestly the funniest movie I've ever Oh my.
Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
Gosh, wait, donkey, I'll watch it. I'm in, I'm in.
Speaker 1 (01:42:22):
I've been listening to the shrekch soundtrack. That's my listening
that ten out of ten episode. Thanks so much, for
joining us after hours on a Friday afternoon.
Speaker 2 (01:42:31):
Thanks for joining Bye,
