(00:01):
Hello everyone, and welcome to theWoman's Caves, the and I Thought Podcast.
All right, I think I'm changingit because I remember it's w O
M N E as apostrophe cave becauseall the other ones are taken, so
you have to have the apostrophe.Ever, but like when you say it,
no one hears like apostrophe unless Ispell it, and then it's been
years with me spelling it. Sowhy would I do this to myself?

(00:24):
Considering that if you look it up, the name of the podcast is and
I Thought, So maybe I shouldsay the and I Thought podcast six years
and now I'm thinking I'm going withit. Yeah, I'm going with it
anyway. I'm missing a jade againtoday. Yeah, no Jade, and
you guys have had this like allyear along, and I feel really bad

(00:46):
because I have misbehaved for almost anentire year. I'm gonna try behaving today
because even my bow is in right, so I'm gonna try behaving today.
It's not gonna work anyway. I'mwill know what a marine? Oh?
I remember to introduce myself? Howfight to me? How fuck to me?
Okay? Finished with the dancing nowthen now I'm behaving myself I was

(01:07):
part of this group that wrote books. There's like seventeen of them, and
so let's go through the audio ones. And I thought divorced respect, and
I thought being vulnerable is easy ifonly I were meet a memoir in verse
four Coffee, Widow's Webb, andWidow's Debts. You can get those wherever
your audio books are found. Andif you want to know the rest of
the eleven books, because they're seventeenaltogether. Yes it's sign language part,

(01:30):
it's seventeen books all together. Okay, you can go find those on www
Dot. And I thought ladies dotcom and yes, since that wasn't that
funny today? And I made youtalk about my bow and I talked about
me and the name of the frickingpodcast. And I'm going to do it
like a car salesman, because youknow that's how that happens when I'm not
funny. I have to do thisbit so you can find out everything about

(01:51):
your ladies that Www Dot. AndI thought, lady, do it feels
like that, like you know atthe end where they're like, yeah,
it makes me smile every time.So if you don't like it, I
do, so it would stay. But you and I here to hear about
me. You here to hear aboutour wonderful guess. Wonderful guests, would

(02:12):
you like to introduce yourself? Iam Tara you Wall. Three things you
should know about me is One,I am a survivor from defending myself against
my self stepdad in self defense.Thought was a long one. Two is
I'm obsessed with my dog Dixon. He is a mini Australian Shepherd. And

(02:32):
three, I am a huge movieand TV addict. Like I just have
a like. I will watch showswhen I do my work. And if
you ask me about a lot ofshows, chances are I know of the
show. Oh I feel like beinglike challenge on. But then no,

(02:58):
I don't think I'm going to dothat. I think it's gonna be a
professional to day. I like,I destroyed up life. So, uh,
you're an etic, Like you watchall day? Well, I'm the
coffee kind of addiction where you watchin the morning you gotta have it,
and then the evening and then likelate night or something. Well, if
I'm at home and I'm doing alot of emails, I'm just on the

(03:20):
computer. I'm doing my Instagram stuff. I'm putting together constant, But I'm
not like creating it that I'm like, oh, I always have something on
in the background. I always justlike have I have to have background lines,
and so I have to have theTV on, and so I will
you know if you ask me certainthings like oh did that happen in that

(03:43):
show? I might have actually missedit because I'm doing like so many things
at once. But I have seenthat show and I do know the synopsis
of the show. Okay, Soshould you be considering being a TV executive
instead the development person because I feelit would know when people would want to
watch did you watch this much TV? Well? A part of my job

(04:04):
too is I like to do alot of research on true crime, see
what is ethical, what isn't ethical? How I can do things right,
how I can do things better. And because I have the podcast, we
actually produce it more so like aTV show because we have my podcast partner,

(04:26):
Paul your Lantry. He is aDP and his whole life has been
editing and filming TV shows, musicvideos and everything. So he will edit
it like a TV show and wefilm it all. You know, we
have this setup. I have thissetup back here. It's cute little setup

(04:46):
and normally my bed is made andmy dogs haying on it, so it's
a vibe in here. And I, you know, I am thinking about
developing stuff for TV on the line. However, it just have to continue
to do more research and watch moreTV and figure out what I do and

(05:08):
don't like. But I do havea lot of project ideas. Okay,
what are the project ideas? AndI sae, we're gonna get to the
podcast I just heard podcasts and Iwas like, she didn't say a name,
so I gotta get back to that. But project ideas, I want
to hear those, Okay. SoI mean I would love to do a
documentary where I actually interview John's survivorsand I connect with them. So I

(05:30):
would love that. I would loveto produce something where there's just more an
ethical side. And I want tobe careful too, because people will listen
to this and also take your ideas, so I have to be careful of
sharing my ideas at this moment.Oh, I definitely understand that you should

(05:55):
do the documentary. Thank you.Would you live on the West coast though,
right? Yeah? I live inOrange County, California. Okay,
yeah, no, so you haveto do it right. So take your
time. We're working on my thirdone, my third documentary. Oh you
are Yeah. Oh I did notdo them right, but okay, they

(06:16):
are so much fun to do.Like I just get together the trailer and
I'm like, I'm loving it.Oh I love that. Yeah, like
you got and then you already havesomeone like that can help you edit.
Editing is like the biggest part ofall. Oh my god, there's so
many hours. Okay, now I'mdone talking. Yeah, but no,
I want to get a good teamtogether, maybe a couple of people who

(06:40):
have one Emmys and have people thatreally know what they're doing so that they
can help make this show a greatshow as well. Again, as I
said, I find people on theWest Coast want to have it right.
They're very big, like it needsto be nice. I'm like, we
live on the East Coast. Youknow how hard it is find an Emmy

(07:00):
anybody over here. Well, Iwant to shoot with some nice like red
cameras. I want to you know, I want to have like a nice
interview scene, Like I want itto be more HBO HBO or like Showtime
style opposed to action in or Id in a sense oh okay, and

(07:25):
you already have like so far onyour way. It's so weird because I'm
used to talking to the podcasters andlike authors who like, I want to
do this film and they're like You'relike okay, and then they start talking.
You're like, oh, but you'rea long way away, like this
would be fun, you know, but anyway, Yeah, you're definitely so.

(07:47):
I mean, it's West Coast. You're always yes, people are always
so great. I mean, yeah, but we're always working, we're always
creative. Over here. We havethe sun sign most of the time.
It's been running a lot lately, which isn't like California, well, southern
California. We're shiny and just prettyall the time. Like if it wasn't

(08:11):
for the traffic, I would wantto move. Oh and taxes as well,
state taxes, gas prices just justgas prices on their own. Oh
yeah, I think our taxes, like we have a dollar like forty seven
tax on top of ours compared tolike all the other states matter states has
like a fifty cents tax or somethinglike oh yeah, that's us. Yeah,

(08:35):
I think we're the state I livein is like third or fourth highest
on taxes on gas. Okay,so it's it's still annoying here, but
not nearly as annoying as it ischaracter But I mean im working. It
works out because every day is gorgeous, like almost the stuff we want to
rain almost. Yeah. No,we've had a lot of rain lately,
which isn't like us. But it'sgood because we were in a drought.

(08:58):
We're not in a drought currently, and so we really needed that. And
I think that today it looks alittle gloomy, but it will get back
to normal. It'll be sunny shitsoon. I gotta get Hey, Los
Angeles and southern California, please getback to normal before May, because I'll

(09:20):
be there in May and I needyou back to normal. Yes, I'm
counting down the days, like goingback to this nice weather. That's the
thing I'm missed in COVID, brilliantpeople like what did you miss Las Vegas
and Los Angeles? Um? Well, like in COVID, I even missed
La it was all shut down, and I you know, you couldn't go

(09:45):
many places at all. So,and I live in Orange County, it's
a bit different. We're a bitmore conservative down here, and so I
mean people were being like, we'renot closing down our shop. We've been
open for seventy fifty years. We'renot closing it down, you know,

(10:07):
And so it was nice to havea little bit of thought normalcy in a
sense. However, I do understandthat we needed to be cautious and take
precautions and everything. Okay, sowe've talked about almost everything beside your podcast,
So I tek you segues here, let's just jump podcasts. Can you

(10:28):
tell us the title why you boughtit together? Is this your first podcast?
So this is actually kind of likemy third past podcast that I've done.
So I've had the original Dirty Johnand that was done by wondering that
one has over ninety million lessons now. And then I did a Time Out
with Tara podcast, which is justme interviewing different people and it was fun

(10:54):
to do that. But the editbeing everything is just not on point.
And I'm really happy to be teamedthat. We call your Landry, who
is another fellow survivor. His motherwas murdered by his father at the age
of eleven, and he actually wentinto his dad's room the next day asked
where mommy was and then had alist in numbers to his mom's friends that

(11:18):
he called because his dad told himthat he couldn't call the cops. They
weren't going to call the FBI,and so Callier took the list of the
numbers, called his mom's friends. His mom's friends called the cops. Then
the cops came question Callier. CallYour started to do research and put his
dad in jail for murdering his momat the age of eleven. And so

(11:41):
I've teams that we call your becauseI think his story is incredible and there
is always these six degrees the separationto our stories where his dad actually worked
with Tanya, who is John's exwife's husband in the hospital that he worked

(12:03):
at, and so it's just likeand Tanya's husband is from Mansfield, which
is John's sex wife. So it'sjust like the funny the coincidences because Colliers
from Mansfield, That's where his storyhappen. And I think that it's going
to be really amazing. We alreadyinterviewed probably about twenty eight guests. It

(12:26):
should be launching sometime in May,and the guests that we have are just
incredible. We have survivors all theway from like the Idaho murder case,
actually not the Idaho murder. Iget so many of these cases confused now
because they're all just you know,it's really sad how many similarities are in

(12:52):
so many cases. But we havethe Delphi murder case, we have a
Manda knox On, we have RitaIsabelle, her brother was killed by Jeffrey
Dahmer. We have a lot ofgreat guests that come on and share their
stories. See. I tried tokeep it as light as long as I

(13:13):
could for everyone, really really tried, and then we got to the sad
parkway. So how about how longis the podcast? Wait? It comes
out in May, so what dateshould we be looking for? So we
are, honestly, it just dependson our network whenever. We're just waiting

(13:33):
for them to get everything signed andworked out so that we can start.
But we wanted to bring the podcastout in May, and we told all
our networks and everyone that, Sowe're really hoping for a launch probably like
the first week or midweek of May. The last week would be a nice
deal, but it might happen, but it's just we gotta wait on our

(13:56):
network. Oh big question I needto ask, is there a launch party?
So I don't know if I'm goingto do a launch party or if
I'm going to just do a survivortrue crime meet up, because I always
do true crime meetups, and soI might just do like a true crime

(14:16):
meet up, but everybody gets tomeet each other. I've just been putting
it off because the last time wehad a meetup was sorry, aunt was
when we were filming with someone Ican't say who yet, and I coordinated
all the survivors to get together andthey were all survivors that had been on

(14:41):
our podcast. So I kind ofgave away the roster for the podcast to
other creators. So I'm like foldingoff on doing a true crime meet up
until the podcast comes out and theneverybody else can have I hate to say

(15:01):
exclusives, but you know, wedid create a lot of content and a
lot of great content for the podcast. We've been working on it since like
almost a year now, and sowe're just like, oh, you know,
some people have stories that we haveconnected with and they're not so publicized

(15:26):
out there, so we're just like, oh, just hold off on those
please. Yeah, definitely, definitely. I mean once you burned, you
learn, Yeah, you learn, you never ever forget. Unfortunately you have
the car, but you learn.Yeah, ever do that again. Yeah,

(15:48):
And it's like, we had peoplecome out from Milwaukee, we had
people come out from out of statefor the True Crime mediap and so you
know, those people did come outthere to connect with those people, and
so I do want to support themin that aspect, but I'm like,
oh, please, don't give awayexclusive. Can you tell us a bit

(16:10):
about how the podcasting game has changedsince your first Nope, I lied,
That is not my question. Itake it back. This is why I
do not try to push my podcastany further than where it is. I
get to do things like I lied. I'm taking that question back. What
have you learned from your first podcastto to now that you know it's going

(16:33):
to make this one just pop?I've learned from the first podcast, first
narrative and stuff, that one ismore of like a storytelling one. And
I also learned that podcasts become publicinformation. So that's I didn't make anything
off of the Dirty JOm podcast withwondering, not a sense from that,

(16:59):
even though has ninety million listens.Do you think that I would have something
to do with that, especially sinceit's my story, especially since I had
to kill my attacker and self defense, and so be careful when you do
start to do a podcast and stuff. You want to make sure that you

(17:22):
are going on and getting ads forit, because if you lose out on
that monetization, then you don't getany of that. And it's kind of
a sad thing, especially since there'sbeen situations where people have made literally millions
of dollars off of me and Ican't afford rent or I can't I'm overdrafted

(17:48):
every now and then. So itjust people need to be aware that when
they do a podcast and stuff,it is public information and maybe it might
be better to put it in abook first, or you know, just
have it in a different way orhave full ownership of your story, because
that's the one thing that I didnot have. Wow, thank you.

(18:17):
I would simally ask the question aboutadvice, but I feel like we have
covered that. It's well covered, and I want you to know that every
once in a while I do aTikTok thing, do I have permission to
use that as the TikTok like advice? Like, yeah, tacon a TikTok
advice, I'm using that. Yeah, I never even thought about it.
Yeah, but I cared, butI never even thought about it. Well,

(18:41):
no, people, people don't thinkabout it, and then that's how
they get screwed because they don't knowthat that's public information. And then it
sucks too because like I work intrue crime where there's like I hate to
say it this, but like theblack girls will get offered nothing for their

(19:03):
story, and then like I'll getoffered something, and it's just like this
ongoing cycle where if people don't know, they take advantage of those people,
and they especially like to take advantageof like anyone that I hate to say
this isn't white in a sense,Well they like to take advantage of the
white girls too, but like it'sjust they go after certain people a little

(19:29):
bit more. Oh, oh,I'm sorry, I don't have a sad
story to tell. If you're ratherlike, oh she needs this information,
no, no, no, no, just just to know because like they'll
try to be like, oh,we'll give you five thousand for your story.
Absolutely say no to that. Yep. Now I have two TikTok moments

(19:51):
things I didn't have to edit themnow, but yeah, anything, I'm
sorry, all right, I saidI was gonna be professional today? Really
did I try? Joe? Ireally gave it a shot. Now,
can you tell us the name ofthe podcast one more time? Or is
that awesome? The podcast name isthe Survivor Squad Podcast. We actually do

(20:12):
have a TikTok. We have anInstagram page, we have a Facebook page,
we have a Patreon, We haveeverything set up for you to follow
us get some great exclusive content. But we are just waiting to figure out
what the network. When we canrelease those episodes should be May, though,

(20:32):
May it is, and I wishthere was a launch party because I
was like, I'm going to bein town in May, and I wanted
to go to a party. Wellif there's a true crime meat but let
you know that sounds scary, no, thank you, Well it's more so
survivors. Okay, yeah, I'llbe there, and no one's a perpetrator

(20:53):
there, at least we hope tried. I tried my best to make this
entire show funny. I'm so rightthat Joe probably was like the poll be
like, no, we didn't needthat one, y'all didn't. But I
did it anyway. I thought itwas okay. I laughed, Okay,
so as soon as they find theinformation out for them networks, you will

(21:14):
be able to listen to that podcast. I want to thank you so much
for taking time out today to bewith me on this podcast and show with
my semi crokibo and my not sogreat studio background today. But whatever,
I'm making your work and I'm dad. That's a lot of things missing from
this performance. Who talk about somework? Can you tell everyone where they

(21:38):
can find out more information about you? If you and keep up? You
already did the show, So ifyou want to tell people where they can
find out more information about you,let them know. Yes. So you
can find me on Instagram. I'mthe most active there. I am Tara
t E R R A last NewMule and E W E L L.
Then I'm also on TikTok Tara Nuleon there. I'm on Twitter Tara underscore

(22:03):
null and then Facebook. Are youhave a Facebook page? There? Tera
null as well, So any platform, really, I am there, Thank
you, and you can find outevery I'm gonna go ahead and wrap us
up. You can find out everything'syour ladies are doing at www dot and
I thought ladies dot com and no, there is no car salesman pitch to

(22:23):
that one. While you there,go down to the middle of the page
and you can see the charities thatwe probably support. We ask that you
take a moment out and give thema little support. To remember that it's
not limited to just monetary support. They also need information and volunteers, so
please take that time and do that. We thank you in advance for that.
Remember that wisdom is all around youif you're open to finding it and
accepting it. To a piece oflove you guys from will Noona and the
