Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yes is Appetite for Distortion.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Welcome to the podcast Appetite for Distortion, Episode number four
hundred and eighty four. My name is Brando. His name
is Harrison Rex aka Baby Brownstone. But if you're just listening,
he may not say anything because he's drinking a big
fat bottle right now. He can say bottle. Well, he
(00:54):
actually says bottle cats. No, I'm taking my axle phone
call and I'm like his face, I'm like say axel, axel,
and who just come back with kat?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Is close enough? Oh boy?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
When he starts saying Slash and Axel, you guys are
gonna get so annoyed with me with all the baby content. Anyway,
that's in the future. What else is in the future
that we know is gonna happen? Guns and Roses back
out on tour in twenty twenty five. Now this has
been before we get into the details. This has been
long umbered. It's not a surprise, but.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
We were waiting.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
We the fans were waiting in quite some with some
anticipation about when is this announcement going to happen?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
All this year we knew gn R was taking off.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Slash has said that Dulph has said that that next year,
twenty twenty five is going to be the year of
guns n' Roses and they're telling the truth.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
So finally a tour announcement.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
But it's backtrack because as I'm recording this, this is
what December eleventh, it's almost the new year already, so
actually maybe like a week ago or so, you see,
you know, I I don't know people send it to
me because I'm not seeing these things that are leaked.
I'm like, nowhere where these things would leak. But apparently
(02:16):
on gunz ross website, maybe some live nation website that
dates were posted and quickly taken down. Now, I don't
know how those of you found it or you get
alerts if there's ever an update on a gun z
Ros's website. I don't know how you you computer geniuses,
get this stuff. So I see this poster which ends
(02:37):
up being the real poster for the tour with some dates.
It's a little fuzzy, it's not HD obviously it's not
the finished product. But what's really interesting, and because I
don't like sharing rumors, because what's the point, you know,
just to be disappointed or you know with this band
is a million rumors. You're not gonna You're gonna be
(03:00):
tailling fables your entire life. So I only like to
announce the rumors or talk about rumors that I think
are going to happen.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
So you see the.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Monster on the actual cover of Appetite for Destruction, you know,
the with all like was it like the teeth and
the red monster whatever.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Going over the globe.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
So it's gonna be a world tour, even though the
dates were and are just the Middle East and in Europe. Now,
the interesting thing was, and a lot of people were thinking,
this is either what made it real or what made
it fake that the tour name is called because what
you want and what you get are two completely different things. Now,
(03:46):
like many of you, I reacted to that with what
are they trolling their own fans? Like on purpose? Because
sometimes we fans can read into things and think that
they're saying things. But this seems to be like a
pretty obvious or it seemed to be a pretty obvious, like, Okay,
what you're saying that fans want a new album and
(04:07):
instead we're getting another tour?
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Why would you do that?
Speaker 1 (04:12):
However, I wish I can credit the guy on my
GNR Forum who first pointed this out and then I
shared it, and they kind of picked up steam from
there because no one really goes on unless you're a
forum guy, so you're not really going to peruse it,
and I get, you know, I definitely credit whenever I
see great information there. It's still I enjoy going on
my GNR forum. They're still supportive of me sharing my
(04:33):
podcast on there.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
But I digress.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
So this person remembered a nineteen eighty five flyer at
the Music Machine Friday, December twentieth, in nineteen eighty five,
so nearly like forty years ago. This is with texts
and the horseheads I'd be lying to say if I
knew who they were. And underneath it says, because what
(04:58):
you want and what you get are two completely different things.
You might have to learn this lesson later. And it
says also send your donations to Guns and Roses keep
us out of jail fund nine thousand suns at volve
our sweet four oh five with California. I mean, it's
pretty clever, I think, and I think it's simply I
(05:20):
think it's simply a nod to four decades of Guns
n' Roses. Yes, Steph Flyer, has Steven Nadler on it,
it has Ezzi Stradlin on it. Do I think they're
going to reunite the classic lineup?
Speaker 2 (05:31):
No, I don't. I don't think that for a second.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
I'm not an insider. I get sometimes people reaching out
to me with information, but I don't consider myself an insider.
I've never spoken to anybody, you know, Team Brazil or
so I don't ever want that to be construed because
people will ask me things like I have an insider,
not I may. I guess it may come off that
way with the people how I interview. But I'm just
(05:55):
a fan who happens to be and radio who has
been doing this podcast for as long as this reunion
has been going on. So I think it's a nod
to forty years as a band. So now, well, I
still hold out hope that Izzy and Steven will show
up for guest appearances. That's a hope. Do I think
that's gonna happen. I'm leaning towards no, but the hope
(06:17):
is out there now. Of course, a lot of fans want.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
What we want is new music. Do I expect new music?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I do, but I don't know how that's gonna happen,
and that's something that Slash and Duff has said. Whether
it's gonna be an album, I don't know if it's
gonna be an album, Man, this is gonna be I
think at this point it's got to be like a
double album, a triple album for this amount of time,
So it could be it's gonna be more Rework Chinese
(06:45):
democracy material, which some people like some people don't. I
think it might be more of that. I really don't
know it's gonna be all new material. So that's gonna
be part of the guessing game of twenty twenty five.
But let's focus on what we do know. GINR back
in business next year. I'm excited, and for a couple
(07:06):
of reasons. One because for the podcast, as you may remember,
I love doing fan reviews, especially in out the countries.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
So wherever you in the world you're going.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
To see guns or roses that you're going to see them.
Whatever country you on, you're going to even if English
is not your first language. If you're comfortable enough coming
on the podcast to talk with me and tell me
about your experience, let's do it. So I'm hoping to
hear from fans from all these countries where they get
to be hitting up. They're going to be hitting up
the first time. Saudi Arabia, Lithuania. Where else Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Italy,
(07:44):
Czech Republic, Germany, the UK, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Hungary,
and Austria.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, Poland.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
So when the dates first leaked, my wife, who loves
to travel, well, she's like, let's go to one of
these countries. I'm like, okay, sure, if you're willing to
do that. So we were first thinking Poland because I'm
primarily Polish and I started would be cool to see
in the Motherland, but that does not line up with
(08:15):
her schedule for next year. She's a I'm sure I've
mentioned it, but she's a dance teacher for little kids
for like three year olds to high school, and like
every summer there's recital and performances and everything, so she
just knows when she can and can't go. So Poland's
out right now. So right now we're looking at the
(08:35):
last three dates of the tour that we could possibly
go to, maybe three or four dates. She's like, how
many shows do you want to go to. My answer
was like, what are you talking about? Because she's a
crazy to Dave Matthews fan who will go somewhere and
see multiple shows. I mean, I've just never done that,
even when they're in New York. I'm just like, one
(08:57):
concert makes my Wilid cry as far as the money.
But my wife says, like, I just got picked up
a residency. She did dancing, you know, teaching dancing in
school just so she can travel and see concerts. She's
she's dedicated. So right now we're looking at Austria. I'm
(09:18):
a third Austrian, which is cool see that motherland as well.
But when she's like, how many shows do you want
to go to? The only one that would make sense
for us to also go to if we're going to
go away for a week would be also Bulgaria. She's like,
I've never like, Wow, She's like, out of all the
countries I'm thinking about going to, but I hear beautiful
things about Bulgaria, beautiful things about Austria, so.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
That might happen.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
And what's cool is one of the coolest things about
this tour are the opening acts. Guns and Roses is
great with the opening acts sex pistols with Frank Carter.
Of course, Johnny Rotten does not. He's not involved anymore.
Him and Steve Jones haven't spoken in like two decades.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
And public Enemy Flavor Flav.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Flavor Flav liked my my Instagram where I tagged him.
It was a picture of him recently with Axel at.
You may have seen a lot of new pictures of
Axel at the F one.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Race in vis. Yeah, I know, Axel. Can you see Axel.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Axel? I thought we were close Axel. No, you don't
want to see Axle.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Uh. And I tagged Flavor in that you want to
go down. You want to go down. You don't want
to be my co host anymore? Want to pay you
will come back.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
I've been trying so hard to get in this. Uh,
this episode just make noise. No, I don't want this
to make noise. We gotta limit the noise here. People
were actually gonna listen to watch this, so we gotta
limit it. I'm sorry, baby, Oh well you know what. Fine,
You're gonna get a kid's toy in the background to
keep them INTI the data crying. I've been trying to
I wanted to talk about this as soon as the
(10:59):
dates announced. But I've been playing a lot of stay
at home dad while I work from home about my
wife's has been out a lot, so it's just a
it's been difficult. It's me recording with him now when
he's just had a bottle, he's eaten, he's a little calm.
But I digress because I'm just so excited to take
him next year. Wherever in the world it is, whether
(11:22):
it's Bulgaria, whether it's Austria, I believe that they will.
I don't know have any inside information that they will
announce more dates. Whether that's more in Europe, I don't know.
I like to think that they will announce US dates
at some point, probably, though I gotta imagine like next year,
at some point they'll announce more dates. Rumors of a
(11:44):
Vegas residency at the Sphere, which would be awesome and expensive,
So there are just rumors of that. Again, I have
no actual idea, but the fact that this rumor came
to fruition and very funny because as it deprived, Dad
G and R just announced the teaser video of the tour,
(12:06):
like this past Saturday at four am, and I just
sleep deprived, getting up random times, and I just look
at my phone. I'm like, G and R just posted
five minutes ago.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Bpep.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
That's what my phone doesn't do. I just decided I
just was on it right then and there, and then
they the next day, they they, So I mean, I'm
just glad that because fans were getting upset that people
were asking me, should I make plans to travel with
these leaked to dates, and like, why would I? I
think you should wait till things are official from Live Nation.
(12:39):
So it's just I'm excited. I'm just excited for next
year whatever comes, whether it's to with new music, just
the fact that Guns and Roses are still together, Axel
and Slash is still together. You know, Scotto and I
we started this podcast right before the reunion started in
twenty sixteen, and everyone kept thinking that this was gonna end,
(13:02):
that this tour was gonna you know, was it gonna
last more than one show? And here we are, almost
nine years later and they're together. So I'm going to
take it for take it for what it is. I'm
going to enjoy this. I'm just gonna take it for
what it is. I'm gonna I can't wait to take
(13:22):
Harrison to as far as Guns of Roses concert, whether
that's abroad or here as U yet to be determined,
but he will be seeing Guns of Roses. He I'm
sure I won't remember any of it, but he'll have
plenty of pictures in video that I plan to take.
Let me know when you're going, because I put it
out there. Do I have friends in all those countries
(13:43):
that I've announced it? What are you interested in doing
a podcast? Uh?
Speaker 2 (13:47):
If I show up there, maybe you'll you know, maybe
you run.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
A bed and breakfast that you'll let me my wife
and maybe Brownstone stay in. You know, it's good to
have friends all across the world. Guns and Roses fans
all across the world. One of the best parts of
doing this podcast is to meet all of you. And
just to wrap up this short episode, I hope all
of you who celebrate have a great had a great Thanksgiving,
(14:13):
and of course Christmas is coming up. Hotmica is coming up.
I got to say it with my backgrounds, Domica is
coming up. It's hard to book guests around this time,
so a lot of people are with family, So just
stick around. I'm always have always asking, always seeing who's
around people, maybe booking and already for next year. The
(14:34):
conversation continues always in between the broadcasts, in between the
podcasts on social media Facebook, Twitter, x Instagram. I even
signed up for Blue Sky or Blue Ski. I don't
update it as much because it's just it's too much.
So the mains Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, afdpod dot com
(14:55):
a website with all updated news, updated news and clip
there for you to enjoy. And I'm really staying on
top of YouTube as well. Me and my buddy Graham
from Scotland, who said he's gonna actually I think he's
going to have Florence for to go see Guns and
Roses this year. It would have been nice to meet
(15:15):
up with them in Florence, but I just can't make
the dates work for my wife and I. But he
and I are working hard on the website and on YouTube,
so we're making classic clips like kind of repurposing them,
you know, episodes you may have forgotten from twenty eighteen,
twenty nineteen or more recent and ten like ten minutes,
bite sized chunks for you to get like to the
(15:38):
meat of the interview or some of the best stuff
that's been shared on the podcast, and of course like
those one minute shorts that I make, so the content
is coming out, even though the podcasts have been just
slowing down this time of year, which it usually does.
But we'll be back up. I mean, we got to
get to five hundred. We're getting there. That's insane already
(15:59):
thinking about the guests the conversation for five hundred. But
we'll tease that more when we get the four nineties.
We're not quite there yet, So meantime, let me know
where you're gonna see guns and Roses. If you're gonna
see guns and Roses, some of you were saying it's
gonna take new music for you to see and to
buy tickets.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Okay, let me know.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Hit me up on social media, put it in the
comments section on YouTube, THEAFD podcast at gmail dot com,
and the conversation will continue until the next episode.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
When will you hear that?
Speaker 1 (16:31):
In the words of AXL Rose concerning Chinese democracy, I
don't know as soon as the word, but you'll see it.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Thanks to the lame ass security.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
I'm going home
