We are right now, hey,So tell us real quick, tell
(03:13):
us real quick. How's the musicscene? How's how is it over there?
I'm still I've only lived here forsix months, so I'm still kind
of figuring it out. I'm ina very small town in Spain, so
I'm not in like Madrid or Barcelona, so like right here, you know,
we got open mics and like thebigger towns, but like you know,
(03:35):
I don't really know what the sceneis here yet. I'm dabbling.
I'm figuring it out. Trying tobreak in a little bit. Okay,
okay, And you say you sometimescome to the States. Your home state
is California. Yeah, I'm fromSan Diego. Yeah, I lived in
LA for three years, just liketrying to break into the music industry a
(03:58):
little bit. But then COVID hit, of course, so like you know,
things kind of changed and I kindof switch pads and now I'm here
living in Spain and yeah I'm lovingit. Okay, great, wow,
And she's Louise. So from SanDiego to LA to Spain. That's that's
(04:19):
a great way to travel, rightthere. And do you come back and
visit? I haven't since i've beenhere in the six months. But next
Thursday I'm going to Vegas for myfriend's bachelorette party. So I'm super excited
about that. Oh my god.Sure makes you guys have a great time.
(04:42):
Well, yeah, thank you.Spent a lot of money, no,
because now I'm used to the Spainprices. It's a lot more reasonable
here. Need to bring those yeah, bring those prices back over here,
right right. I want to bringsome snacks back for my friends here in
Spain that they don't have here.Like, what do you recommend. Of
(05:05):
course hot Cheetos is for sure,But like, what are the snacks do
you think I should bring for themto try? From sweet? From from
from all the way from Spain. No, no, no, no,
from like the states back to Spain. Oh man, that's a great question,
oh man, for me, youknow, for me, this is
(05:27):
what I really do to be honest. For a snack, geez wheeze.
I'm I'm I'm a health nut.So I healthy. Okay, Okay,
doctor pepper, that's like the that'slike the snack. It's a doctor I
feel you. Yeah, No,I tell you I'm juicing. I'm always
(05:48):
making smoothies. And if I'm notdoing that, I'm eating fruit so or
Yeah, so tell them, Hey, from Colorado, this is what Homeboy
sends. Enjoy the smoothie. That'show this there go the movies. Yeah,
they don't really drink a lot ofsmovies here, so yeah, you
could be the first to introduce thatstraight up. That's you know, that's
(06:10):
great though. That's a good question. I'm gonna ask people to comment below
when I post this. Yeah, this will help you out. When I
post this, I'll ask you, they'll ask a poll. I'll ask what
is a great snack to take toSpain from the US and people will come
me down below? Perfect love it, love it. I need the help.

(08:03):
all I got right now. Yes, that's only got. Let's bring our
guests back in. Alicia and Nicole, can you please tell us a little
bit about yourself and how we cansupport you please? Yeah, yeah,
definitely. I got into music maybearound twenty sixteen. I've been playing the
(08:26):
piano since I was like seven, got into music around twenty sixteen. I
started performing around San Diego, writingsongs my first time in the studio recording
music, and I fell in love. I became addicted to just being in
the studio recording music and just likecatching a vibe. And I realized,
(08:48):
like when I played piano, Ihad a piano that you can do a
couple of tracks on it. Andmy friend was like, Oh, you
know that's like a form of producing, right, And I was like,
oh no, I didn't know thatactually, And so I started getting into
producing and kind of dabbling a littlebit. And then I applied to Berkeley
(09:09):
College of Music to go into theirElectronic Music Production and sound design program online
and I got accepted, and I'vejust been doing that work and it was
so cool to see like some ofthese actually videos are like some of my
homework that I've done for Berkeley, and I just couldn't believe that my homework
(09:33):
was to make a song. Itwas just like the coolest thing to me.
I just love making music, writingsongs. It's like just getting all
that, you know, expression outthat you feel like maybe you couldn't really
do normally. So yeah, soI've just been doing that. A lot
(09:54):
of my music on Apple Music Spotifyis actually produced by friends, but my
most recent song Slide, I producedby myself, wrote by myself except for
the part that my friend recorded.Yeah that's what's up. Man. Up
(10:15):
and coming artist Alicia and Nicole senta clear message out about empowerment on our
single out of My Body, andnow she's bringing it back with a fierce
energy on our upcoming release when HeavenComes. Wow, there we go,
singer, songwriter, producer, SouthernCalifornia native. There we go, catchy
pop melodies, sultry voice, therewe go. That's what's up, going
(10:39):
hard in the pain. So sowhat's the what's what can we thank you
for letting us know a little bitabout yourself? What can weeks? Oh?
Wait, before I do that,I want everybody know where they can
follow you on the Instagram. That'sAlicia Nicole Baby. That's Alicia Nicole Baby.
That's a L. I see IA and I see O L E
(11:03):
B A B y just like howit sounds. Make sure you like,
comment, share and follow, like, comment, share, save and follow
straight up. Oh yeah, she'sgot her other page as well, mood
Moon. Yeah music there it is, guys, use your singer songwriter check
(11:26):
that one out as well. Canyou tell what's that one all about?
Yeah? That that page is likeit's just more of me putting out some
of the production that I've made, just kind of like showcasing that a little
bit. I can't I have likemy page where it's more directed towards me
as an artist in my life. And then the other one is just more
(11:48):
like this is what I'm working on. This is what I'm doing. Like
it's more creative in that sense whereI'm not necessarily the face of it.
It's more the sound. You know. Oh, guys, there it is.
That one is Moon mid Dane Music. That's m O O N M
A I D E N M Us C. It's legit. Hit up
(12:11):
all the wings. She's got theSoundCloud as well. She got all the
lot of songs up there there itis. Oh yeah, I got the
YouTube. Hold on, remember rememberbring the YouTube up because it's serious.
It's serious. Right now here wego, there's a YouTube channel right there.
(12:33):
I'm gonna subscribe. Boom, appreciateit. We're gonna listen to We're
gonna listen to Slide, and thenwe'll listen to When Heaven Comes. Man,
these are all legit. We'll listento all of them. Guys.
Dope, Hey, when so youstarted taking this serious? Twenty sixteen?
(12:54):
You started playing piano at seven. You play guitar. I know a few
chords, but but I'm not asconfident on guitar. Like I could pass
just like a little riff or something, but singing and playing guitar is kind
of hard for me versus like singingand playing piano. You know, dude,
get started. I like how peoplethink singing and guitar is just easy,
(13:16):
Like, hey, no, Iknow, no, it's hard.
Like I'm in awe of somebody whocan like play some crazy chords on the
guitar and sing like really beautiful melodiesat the same time. Like it's hard
for me. It's possible, butyou got to put in the work,
because I recognize the work that they'veput in to be able to do that,
(13:39):
you know what I mean. Yeah, we like expect you to be
They expect you when you like Beyonce, when you're on stage or something,
when you when you have the guitarright crazy, I'm having a good time
up there, rocking out, singingmy heart out, and I'm doing my
best. Yo, I have peoplecome up here. Yeah you know,
(14:05):
yeah, because you play the guitar, right yeah, I do and sing
yeah yeah, and uh yeah.I do vocal lessons too. I mean
I go to do vocal lessons andstuff like that. How's actually, how's
vocal Do you do vocal lessons aswell? Right now? No? When
I was like really heavy into mystudies. I took a lot of vocal
(14:26):
lessons with like the program, andit was just so fun. I just
love the fun exercises you do.And I'm just kind of still following that
but kind of just uh creating myown like vocal lessons and what I've learned
along the way and then applying it. Yeah, no doubt. How does
it help? How do you?How does it? How do you help
(14:48):
yourself from singing from the diaphragm?Does that coming come easy to you now?
Like at first? No, now, like because I've practiced and put
in the work for it. Yeah. They have a lot of exercises in
the program that I have, likedifferent like CDs and stuff, exercises that
I would do and like you know, sometimes the teacher would be like,
(15:11):
oh, but you're not using yourdiaphragm, so like finding those things.
And I did have one teacher tellme like it's kind of like you gotta.
It was the strangest thing, butI kind of understood it. It's
like the throwing up thing, likewhere it's like you gotta, Like I
don't know the way she described it, the way you placed your voice,
and you know, yeah, yeah, I keep that in the back of
(15:35):
my head for sure. Listen. So when because you know you gotta listen
and do the diaphragm thing, yougotta focus on your breathing as well.
Yeah, yeah, and it canbe a little tricky. Now I'm fine
with it. But at first, you know, there's an exercise I'm sure
(15:56):
you know, like the exercise whereit's like hold out this no for X
amount of seconds and I was dyingat like, you know, just a
few seconds at first. But ittakes time, it takes practice, and
it's possible for sure. But it'sjust it's not just a physical thing.
It's also mental. So you kindof have to like, you know,
(16:18):
coincide the two and bring them togetherand be like, okay, yeah,
no doubt. I know I'll beup there sometimes I'll be like, I'll
be thinking about everything at once.Mm hmm, everything at once. It's
so it's so interesting when you canwhen you're when you're in that zone when
you're thinking about yeah, that's legit. Though. Great, Great, we
got some questions here, and let'sgo with this next one right here.
(16:42):
This next question. This next questioncomes from Jeremy. Jeremy, thanks for
listening. From the show from Arizona. He wants to know what hobbies do
you have or interest outside your music. That's a good question. I really
like painting and drawing, and I'mvery artistic in the sense I'm not great
(17:07):
at drawing or painting by any means, Like I haven't put in the time
and the effort with that. Butit's kind of nice, like when you
just wanna, I don't know, you kind of don't want to think and
just kind of let things flow alittle bit. I really enjoy that,
or just like going out for walks, hiking, yoga, things like that.
(17:30):
But yeah, I mean music ismy go to, Like when I'm
bored, for sure, I'll justwrite and things like that. But drawing,
i'd say, is probably my favoriteoutside of music. Sweet Sweet,
Sweet, I like that painting, drawing, walks, and hiking. Have
you found some good hikes out there? Yeah, there's a river in the
(17:52):
little town that I'm in, soI always run by the river and it's
really nice. There's a lot oftrees. Yeah, but I still have
yet to kind of find and exploremore areas. Straight up, what's the
weather like over there right now?Is it cloudy? Sunny? Right now?
It's sunny, a little windy,but like, I'm from California,
(18:17):
so I'm used to like warm weatherall year round. This was my first
year experiencing seasons because in San Diegowe don't have seasons, So my first
like real winter and cold right now. All my friends and family right now
would tell you the temperature is probablycold. Yeah, but for here,
(18:37):
it's really warm right now. Ithink it's like sixty five, so that's
warm. It's nice and sunny.Yeah. Cool. So you got your
friends and family still in San Diego. Yeah, a lot of friends and
family in San Diego. I havesome siblings that live Las Vegas, Florida,
(19:00):
Milwaukee, so kind of like allover yeah yeah. Wow. Straight
up, guys, there you gohiking, Jeremy, there's your answer right
there. This next one we gotone is Tyson Bosso. Tyson Bosso wants
to know what's your favorite part aboutbeing a musician and least favorite part.
(19:23):
Okay, I'd say my favorite part. I mean, I'm still an underground
musician by all means, you know, but when I have people reach out
to me and say like, ohI really connected with this song, or
like oh I didn't need I didn'tknow I needed to hear this. Like
that's what we do it for, right, Like we put our emotions,
(19:45):
our feelings out there, so likelike is anybody else going through this?
You know? And it's it's sucha beautiful feeling when you get that,
you know, feedback from people andyou you know, I think it's what
we all want, right, likejust to be a little bit acknowledged,
like, yes, I'm going throughthe same thing. I know what you're
(20:07):
talking about. And like you putit so perfectly into words, which is
a hard thing to do for sure. Yeah, hard to put it,
especially when someone can't do it andyou did it for them by putting it
in words in the music and theyrelate to you and connected with you.
That's legit exactly. And like whenI was little and I would listen to
(20:29):
music and maybe you have the samefeeling because you're an artist as well,
Like when you listen to a songand you're like, wow, like this,
how did they say everything I'm thinking? And I was I told myself,
I'm going to do that one day. I'm going to be able to
do that, and I want totry to do that, and so it's
cool to see like that little youknow, feedback for that for sure.
(20:53):
Least favorite though, I don't know, see, I guess my least favorite
thing is like the anxiety that comeswith performing. It doesn't matter how many
times you've performed, there's always thatlittle bit of nerves that kick in that's
like, okay, like that adrenaline. You're just so pumped and you're like,
(21:15):
I'm so nervous. I've done thisa million times, but like,
I just I don't like that feeling, but it's necessary once you're out on
the stage and you are able tolet go, Like you need that energy
to perform. But it's just thatmoment before the performance kind of like I
(21:37):
just don't like it, but it'sneeded, you know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, And have youlearned how to like get better at that
or how to overcome that? Areyou still kind of like you still get
that feeling a lot every time Ihave been better for sure. I'm not
gonna lie. I will admit this, Like there were some shows where I
(22:00):
threw up before because I was justso nervous. But now it's just like
at the end of the day,it's like, all right, I'm gonna
give him my best and that's allthat matters, you know. And I'm
a little nervous still, but likebreath work helps, just breathing through it,
just reminding myself, Like I mean, these are people just coming to
(22:21):
listen. At the end of theday, you know what I mean.
It's like I may or may notsee these people ever again, and the
best scenario is that they love it. Were scenarios like, Okay, maybe
I didn't do as great, butlike I can learn from that and use
that for next performance, you know. So it's just it's mental. It's
all mental, for sure. Wow, it's all mental. But at the
(22:45):
end of the day, when it'sall mental, as long as you're happy,
and when it's you know, that'sgreat, you know. And you
said it doesn't matter how much howmuch you played or how much you practice.
I can practice a whole session anhour before before I go on stage.
I can still miss do a mistake. But yeah, that's you got
(23:06):
to you got a big Wow.The thing I heard too, the thing
that made me feel better about it, was that Barbara Streison said before every
performance she would throw up no matterhow big that she got, like it
just was always and that made mefeel better because I was like, Okay,
at least I'm not doing that anymore. Like you know, but even
(23:30):
the big stars go through it,and it doesn't matter how small, how
big you are, Like that isstill applicable. Absolutely, Yeah, you
are right on that one. Thatis true. You know what helps me
when I go on stage, Igo, I'm excited to be here.
(23:52):
I'm excited to be here. I'mexcited to be here. I don't know
who I learned that from, butI turned my because I would be like,
nervis anxious, like here we go, you know, But now all
I think about before I go onstage now is I'm excited to be here.
I'm excited to be I'm pumped up, I'm excited to be here.
So that helped me out a lot, and vocal lessons helped me out a
(24:15):
lot be more confident on stage. So I love that You're like switching the
anxiety into excitement, which is beautiful. It's like tricking the mind a little
bit exactly. Yeah. Yeah,I keep practicing that. I just practice.
I'm not a master at it,but I keep practicing that and practicing
that. But yeah, straight up, I'm not perfect, but I try
(24:37):
to do as much as I can, which is why I brought your single
up right now. All my goodness, I've been waiting all I should have
played this wild goneen. I justgot distracted with the conversation. Here's the
single slide I subscribed right there. Here we go. Contrast media teachest.
(25:25):
He lifts means, it's not howto prot It's a party, don't you
(26:18):
really? Let's make it. Youlet yourself the baby, because I'm Patty
your baby, dead beat. I'mthe one is give the one. You
see the brothers locking the shoe glasseson the first but the best. But
you just give them because that classwith you. You need to con your
ready, get a stairs with you. It's not time to Protokay, I'm
(27:00):
calling my girlfriend right now. Letme slid right now. Yeah, I'm
right now, I'm right here. This is dope. Thank you guys.
That was it. That was ahot truck right there called slide. You
know what it is. We're gonnaplay another one here soon. Uh oh,
(27:25):
stop it right there, Stop itright there, guys, don't be
doing right now. YouTube. We'regonna play it up. Which one should
we play out of my body orwhen Heaven comes to close out. It
depends on what kind of vibe youwant. When Heaven Comes is a little
more a beat. Out of myBody is a little more like R and
(27:49):
B. I don't know. Istay out of my Body just because I've
gotten the most feedback on that song. There you go. Well, we
are going to close out on anothersingle called out of My Body by Alicia
Nicole. I'm about to ignore thesethese commercials. Here we go. There
(28:11):
it is, guys, We're aboutto close it here in just a second.
Boom. All right, guys, you got a couple more wait,
wait, got more more minutes? What? Okay? We got a couple
more minutes here than we dropping thatsingle. Here we go this question here?
What can we expect in twenty twentyfour from Alicia Nicole. I'm writing
(28:32):
more music. My goal is hopefullyto have an album you know about all
the travels I've done here in Europeand just like learning more about life and
cultures and different things. So rightnow I'm just writing. I'm accumulating.
I'm growing and getting everything in linefor the next project. So you're saying
(28:55):
you're growing, you're learning, you'readapting exactly. Oh my god, that's
what I'm talking about. Okay,so you're I can't wait for the album
the album because you know what,a lot of people cannot travel, so
you can put everything down in thisalbum for the people that can't travel and
(29:17):
experience what you're experiencing. Definitely, definitely that's yeah. Yeah, weish tons
of success. Safe travels where yougo, keep writing that music. And
we got another question here and itgoes like this, where is that at?
You think i'd be ready? Herewe go, hold on just a
second, there it is, holdon, hold on, I got it
(29:38):
right here. What is the bestpiece of advice you ever got from another
recording artist? I'd say that's agood one. That's a good one.
I'd say my best piece of adviceis kind of moving out of the way
(30:03):
and just letting yourself do your thing, you know, without all the thoughts,
all the narration in your head likeI'm not good enough, all the
doubt. Just let yourself go andjust be free. You know a lot
of times I would overthink before Isang, and I get nervous and i'd
hold my voice in and they're like, no, just let it go,
(30:26):
and hard though, huh, it'sa little hard Yeah, because it's I
mean, it's vulnerable. It's likea part of you that nobody knows until
they know, you know what Imean, Like until you have your first
show or you release your first music, you don't know what the feedback is
going to be. And for me, it's like I don't always have a
(30:51):
sound that sounds like another artist,or like my voice didn't always sound like
that, so I would be nervousabout it, be like, but I
don't sound like anybody else, Andthen I had to tell myself, Oh,
that's okay, because I'm paving myown path. Yeah, like you
know, my own sound, andlike that's kind of even cooler in the
sense. Yeah, especially when you'repaving your own sound, you're doing your
(31:15):
own thing, and you're game bookingsfor that, right, Yeah, definitely
when you show up authentically. AndI guess, like all in all,
that's what they were saying, Justbe authentic to yourself. Let go,
don't think about it, and justdo your thing, and I promise you
you'll see the magic happen. Youknow. Yep. A lot of times
(31:38):
if I wrote lyrics before I wentto the studio, it sounds so performed.
So I actually started kind of freestylingin the studio when I would go
and I'd just come up with melodiesand then add the words to it and
then kind of like work on itas I go, just because I wasn't
(31:59):
thinking. I was like, Okay, I'm just doing it. I'm just
don't think about it, just doit, just be it. And then
some of the best songs have comefrom that because I just got out of
my way. Yeah. I likethat. I want us to practice that.
I want to practice that idea.Just go in the studio, just
freestyle rather than trying to think whenam I gonna what can I write about?
What can I I'm just gonna doit on the spot in the studio.
(32:21):
That is sweet. Maybe idea beforeI go we in though, but
that's sicko in it left. I'mabout to drop your single Alicia and Nicole,
Ladies and gentlemen, that is soamazing. Thank you for being on
the show. I can't absolutely gothere the single right now out of my
